OM DETTA AVSNITT
A dead husband, a missing sweepstakes ticket, and a wife who may have killed for $150,000—this Suspense classic turns one shocking inheritance into a murderous trap. Agnes Moorehead stars in Cornell Woolrich’s Postmortem, where every explanation seems plausible until the details start to turn deadly.
Josie Archer thinks her late husband’s winning ticket is buried with him. Then newspaper man Paul Westcott arrives, and the story fractures: the autopsy, the insurance policy, the “accidental” sunlamp, and the unnerving possibility that Stephen Archer knows far more than he should. What begins as a fortune hunt becomes a relentless game of deception, guilt, and timing.
You’ll hear:
How a buried sweepstakes ticket triggers a grisly exhumation
Why the sunlamp in the bathroom is far more dangerous than it first appears
How an actress’s old stage makeup skills become part of a murder cover-up
Why Westcott’s hunch changes everything
The final twist that exposes who is lying, who is trapped, and who is already one step ahead
Agnes Moorehead brings Josie to life with both charm and desperation, while Joseph Kearns as Stephen and the reporter’s hard-nosed investigation keep the tension tightening until the very last minute. With Cornell Woolrich’s signature dread and a perfectly sealed noir atmosphere, this episode is a masterclass in domestic suspense.
Perfect for fans of old-time radio, classic murder mysteries, and stories where every innocent routine hides a lethal secret. Press play if you want a thrill that starts with a fortune and ends in a nightmare.
