Atlanta Braves legend Sid Bream joins Braves Senior Manager of Digital Media Content Ricky Mast on this episode of Behind the Braves for a heartfelt and entertaining conversation covering his remarkable baseball journey and the moment that forever made him a Braves icon.
Sid shares stories from his childhood in Pennsylvania, growing up in a family gospel singing group, his path to Liberty University, and the legendary home run he hit onto Interstate 81 while playing college baseball. He also reflects on his time with the Dodgers and Pirates, the emotions surrounding his move to Atlanta, and how the 1991 Braves transformed from last place to one of the most beloved teams in baseball history.
Of course, Sid also revisits "The Slide" from the 1992 NLCS and why he believes that unforgettable moment happened for a greater purpose.
