00:00:02.080 --> 00:00:04.839
Welcome to Ronica Alive. And we are here with our
2
00:00:05.000 --> 00:00:08.519
next guest. Oh, I've been excited to chat with her,
3
00:00:08.880 --> 00:00:14.919
doctor Jessica Spencer. She is fighting the fight against the
4
00:00:15.640 --> 00:00:19.280
pot Amendment three here in Florida that is on the ballot,
5
00:00:19.719 --> 00:00:23.000
and Jessica, I am fired up over here.
6
00:00:23.039 --> 00:00:24.320
So welcome to Ronica Live.
7
00:00:25.559 --> 00:00:27.399
Well, I'm glad you're fired up. Thank you so much
8
00:00:27.440 --> 00:00:27.960
for having me.
9
00:00:28.519 --> 00:00:31.760
Well, I just texted you before you came on, Literally
10
00:00:31.800 --> 00:00:36.200
before I started doing my show today, I got this
11
00:00:36.479 --> 00:00:40.079
massive postcard with President Trump on it saying how he's
12
00:00:40.200 --> 00:00:43.679
voting for Amendment three, you know, because we've got needless
13
00:00:43.799 --> 00:00:48.640
arrest and incarcerations. And I'm oh, I've got steam coming
14
00:00:48.679 --> 00:00:50.159
out my out of my ears.
15
00:00:50.200 --> 00:00:53.320
I'm just so angry about this. Florida does not want this.
16
00:00:53.560 --> 00:00:55.359
So how do you see all of this?
17
00:00:58.159 --> 00:00:59.920
I mean, if we want to do you want me
18
00:00:59.920 --> 00:01:01.799
to address the Trump supporter?
19
00:01:02.000 --> 00:01:04.000
Do you want me to address the issues? I don't
20
00:01:04.000 --> 00:01:05.359
even know where to begin with any of that.
21
00:01:05.760 --> 00:01:07.519
All right, well, let's start with the issue and then
22
00:01:07.560 --> 00:01:09.200
we'll then we'll talk about Trump.
23
00:01:10.400 --> 00:01:10.840
Perfect.
24
00:01:10.959 --> 00:01:13.799
Perfect, So yeah, I mean this is this has been
25
00:01:13.840 --> 00:01:15.000
my field for a long time.
26
00:01:15.159 --> 00:01:17.560
Substance abuse prevention intervention treatment.
27
00:01:17.680 --> 00:01:23.000
So obviously I am concerned about this being legalized recreationally
28
00:01:23.079 --> 00:01:27.359
in our state, but you know, I'm almost more concerned about.
29
00:01:27.079 --> 00:01:29.599
The fact that it's the constitutional Amendment. So I am
30
00:01:29.799 --> 00:01:31.760
super excited to be here again.
31
00:01:31.840 --> 00:01:33.959
Thank you so much for having me, And I think
32
00:01:33.959 --> 00:01:38.040
it's important for your listeners to understand, if they don't already,
33
00:01:38.280 --> 00:01:41.519
you know that the Constitutional Amendment, if it passes, will
34
00:01:41.560 --> 00:01:45.799
forever be enshrined in our constitution as written. And there
35
00:01:45.799 --> 00:01:49.560
are so many issues and concerns with the language in
36
00:01:49.599 --> 00:01:50.799
this particular amendment.
37
00:01:51.079 --> 00:01:52.000
We have to vote no.
38
00:01:52.439 --> 00:01:54.560
Just on the face of it, we have to vote
39
00:01:54.560 --> 00:01:57.599
no without even getting into the nitty gritty of all
40
00:01:57.640 --> 00:02:01.400
of it. There are major problems, and a constitutional amendment
41
00:02:01.560 --> 00:02:05.359
supersedes all law in our state, right, so this isn't
42
00:02:05.400 --> 00:02:08.080
something that we can legislate our way out of.
43
00:02:08.719 --> 00:02:11.360
When the legislature if this passes, which.
44
00:02:11.159 --> 00:02:14.479
It won't because everyone's going to vote no, the legislature
45
00:02:14.520 --> 00:02:17.680
has to put in an implementing bill and the language
46
00:02:17.840 --> 00:02:22.319
in their bill has to be consistent with the language
47
00:02:22.319 --> 00:02:25.400
of the amendment. And again that's where we run into
48
00:02:25.479 --> 00:02:29.080
major problems because if we don't like the way it's written,
49
00:02:29.120 --> 00:02:32.159
and if we have any question about any part of it,
50
00:02:32.560 --> 00:02:34.400
we will not be able to fix it later on
51
00:02:34.479 --> 00:02:36.560
down the road. Our legislators do not have.
52
00:02:36.520 --> 00:02:39.400
The ability to do that. So I would urge all.
53
00:02:39.240 --> 00:02:43.680
Of your readers, understanding how constitutional amendments work, not only
54
00:02:43.719 --> 00:02:46.800
to vote no, but don't just take my word for it.
55
00:02:46.879 --> 00:02:50.000
Go read the amendment yourself. It's four pages. It's a
56
00:02:50.039 --> 00:02:53.280
pretty easy read. And look at what's in there, but
57
00:02:53.360 --> 00:02:54.960
also what's not in there.
58
00:02:55.759 --> 00:02:58.159
Well, that's funny, because I wasn't thinking, you know, I
59
00:02:58.199 --> 00:03:00.479
was just concerned about it being legal. I was thinking
60
00:03:00.479 --> 00:03:03.560
about that part of it that you've just hammered home.
61
00:03:04.719 --> 00:03:07.240
You know, because because I have James Madison put out
62
00:03:07.280 --> 00:03:09.680
a really nice little booklet that John and I have
63
00:03:09.719 --> 00:03:13.000
been referring to, and we've had a bunch of representatives.
64
00:03:13.360 --> 00:03:16.599
We just had one on prior to you, representative doctor
65
00:03:17.000 --> 00:03:20.240
Joel Rudman, who's a doctor, and so he's ticked about
66
00:03:20.240 --> 00:03:23.159
this because he sees it up clothed with patients how
67
00:03:23.159 --> 00:03:26.280
bad marijuana is. But you know, the overall description says
68
00:03:26.360 --> 00:03:32.400
legalizes recreational marijuana for Floridians and out of state visitors
69
00:03:32.439 --> 00:03:37.560
twenty one and older. And so what I mean that's
70
00:03:37.599 --> 00:03:41.319
bad for me. I don't want people smoking marijuana around
71
00:03:41.360 --> 00:03:45.639
the around our state. I've been to states now, Seattle,
72
00:03:46.080 --> 00:03:48.759
I was in Vegas the weekend it became legal.
73
00:03:48.800 --> 00:03:51.000
It was the most horrific experience of my life.
74
00:03:51.400 --> 00:03:52.879
And then I go to New York City all the
75
00:03:52.960 --> 00:03:56.080
time and you just smell it everywhere. So I just
76
00:03:56.680 --> 00:03:59.080
I just fear that that's going to be Florida. But
77
00:03:59.439 --> 00:04:03.560
dot we have literally I think I can count six
78
00:04:03.639 --> 00:04:06.800
dispensaries that have popped up here for medical marijuana, which
79
00:04:06.800 --> 00:04:10.039
on pro medical marijuana. If you're suffering, so I feel
80
00:04:10.080 --> 00:04:12.080
like people can't have access to pot.
81
00:04:12.599 --> 00:04:14.439
So so well they do.
82
00:04:14.560 --> 00:04:16.399
And there's there's a huge.
83
00:04:16.240 --> 00:04:18.480
Piece of that, the medical you know, there's been sort
84
00:04:18.480 --> 00:04:20.480
of this thought process, and I want, you know, if
85
00:04:20.519 --> 00:04:23.240
listeners are concerned about the medical piece, I want them
86
00:04:23.279 --> 00:04:26.800
to understand that a vote no on Amendment three keeps
87
00:04:26.800 --> 00:04:30.319
the medical marijuana law that we have here now status quo.
88
00:04:30.439 --> 00:04:34.240
It I love that marijuana here in our state, correct, yep.
89
00:04:35.519 --> 00:04:38.560
And then let's get back to why it's bad.
90
00:04:38.680 --> 00:04:41.040
I guess one of the things that shocked me and
91
00:04:41.079 --> 00:04:43.920
I've talked with all the representatives, and then I went
92
00:04:43.959 --> 00:04:47.160
through your website and you know, read read all of
93
00:04:47.199 --> 00:04:50.319
the the things that you all are posting, and I
94
00:04:50.360 --> 00:04:54.839
know the governor is definitely on board with voting no
95
00:04:55.759 --> 00:05:01.160
for this. Where I'm where do we go from here
96
00:05:01.199 --> 00:05:04.759
to stop this? The money that these people have, true
97
00:05:04.839 --> 00:05:07.519
lief is pumped in here seventy five million dollars at
98
00:05:07.600 --> 00:05:11.360
least already, Like that's scandalous to me and the corporate greed.
99
00:05:11.439 --> 00:05:14.160
So so chat about that and explain why this is.
100
00:05:14.160 --> 00:05:14.759
A bad thing.
101
00:05:15.959 --> 00:05:18.160
I will and I want to talk about the corporate greed,
102
00:05:18.199 --> 00:05:19.560
and I want to touch on one thing too, where
103
00:05:19.600 --> 00:05:22.199
you talk about the smell, and then I will absolutely
104
00:05:22.199 --> 00:05:26.000
go into the the a marijuana baply that we're looking at.
105
00:05:26.160 --> 00:05:28.399
There really is there is not enough time in the
106
00:05:28.480 --> 00:05:28.920
day for this.
107
00:05:29.199 --> 00:05:32.040
But you know, to your point about the smell, absolutely
108
00:05:32.920 --> 00:05:36.600
huge issue in other states with recreational marijuana and shoot,
109
00:05:36.680 --> 00:05:38.600
I mean it's a huge problem right now even with
110
00:05:38.680 --> 00:05:42.360
medical here. We already smell it here in Florida. So
111
00:05:43.000 --> 00:05:45.680
the main issue when it comes to smoking in public
112
00:05:45.720 --> 00:05:47.600
that we need to be mindful and when you know
113
00:05:47.639 --> 00:05:50.079
your listeners and when yourself if you're reading the amendment,
114
00:05:50.800 --> 00:05:53.240
we have to be very clear that the author did
115
00:05:53.279 --> 00:05:56.120
not put in anything that would allow the legislature or
116
00:05:56.160 --> 00:05:59.000
local municipalities to ban public smoking.
117
00:05:59.519 --> 00:06:01.720
And literally, all they needed to.
118
00:06:01.680 --> 00:06:05.959
Do was strike through one word in the amendment language.
119
00:06:06.000 --> 00:06:09.199
They just needed to strike through the word medical, and
120
00:06:09.279 --> 00:06:12.800
it would have given the state and local municipalities the
121
00:06:12.800 --> 00:06:16.199
opportunity to ban smoking in public and they didn't do it.
122
00:06:16.600 --> 00:06:21.800
So literally, we would have the ability to smell marijuana
123
00:06:21.879 --> 00:06:24.439
everywhere and anywhere in our state and there is not
124
00:06:24.519 --> 00:06:26.040
a darancing that anybody can.
125
00:06:26.000 --> 00:06:29.959
Do about it. Because again, constitutional.
126
00:06:29.120 --> 00:06:34.879
Law, if you try to change amend, make a bill
127
00:06:35.240 --> 00:06:38.600
or make an ordinance or whatever, you will not be.
128
00:06:38.720 --> 00:06:40.920
Consistent with the language of the amendment.
129
00:06:41.639 --> 00:06:43.720
And when we talk about, you know, again the mega
130
00:06:43.759 --> 00:06:49.360
marijuana monopoly corporation industry, they did this on purpose, right,
131
00:06:49.399 --> 00:06:51.800
They left specific things out.
132
00:06:51.879 --> 00:06:54.399
And when we talk about why this is a mega
133
00:06:54.439 --> 00:06:55.920
marijuana monopoly, I think you've.
134
00:06:55.759 --> 00:06:59.759
Already alluded to how much money has been dumped into this, right,
135
00:07:00.319 --> 00:07:04.800
And the big issue is, right, it's it's stunning, it's
136
00:07:04.839 --> 00:07:09.839
it's it's stunning. But they've put so much money into this,
137
00:07:10.000 --> 00:07:14.040
and they effectively ban home grow, which is something.
138
00:07:13.759 --> 00:07:16.199
Else I want to ask you about that time.
139
00:07:16.360 --> 00:07:20.519
Yeah, well they're they're again working with this monopoly.
140
00:07:20.600 --> 00:07:22.040
They're they're driving.
141
00:07:21.680 --> 00:07:24.920
Consumer base, right, and you don't spend that much money
142
00:07:25.319 --> 00:07:30.639
because you're interested in creating a backyard competitor, right, you
143
00:07:30.759 --> 00:07:34.439
are creating consumers. And so they purposely left out the
144
00:07:34.480 --> 00:07:38.040
word cultivate as it relates to individuals.
145
00:07:38.480 --> 00:07:41.480
So some have already come up and you know when
146
00:07:41.519 --> 00:07:42.160
we're having.
147
00:07:41.959 --> 00:07:44.120
These conversations like oh, but it'll be great because I'll
148
00:07:44.160 --> 00:07:45.959
be able to grow, and I'm like, listen, this is
149
00:07:46.000 --> 00:07:46.639
not about.
150
00:07:46.439 --> 00:07:47.480
Your personal freedom.
151
00:07:48.199 --> 00:07:53.199
This is about corporate greed from this particular industry. And again,
152
00:07:53.680 --> 00:07:55.160
you know, we go back to they just need to
153
00:07:55.160 --> 00:07:59.720
destroy one word for smoking in public. They just needed
154
00:07:59.720 --> 00:08:04.439
to add one word cultivate when referencing individuals. But they
155
00:08:04.480 --> 00:08:07.600
didn't because this it would hurt their bottom line. And
156
00:08:07.639 --> 00:08:11.519
they are the only ones that have come out publicly
157
00:08:12.160 --> 00:08:16.040
and actually bragged about how much money this industry will
158
00:08:16.040 --> 00:08:19.040
bring in for them in our state. And it's it's stunning,
159
00:08:19.120 --> 00:08:21.600
it's shocking, it's sad, and we don't want or need
160
00:08:21.600 --> 00:08:22.560
this here in our state.
161
00:08:23.160 --> 00:08:25.600
Well, I saw that in your media clips. It said
162
00:08:25.720 --> 00:08:28.839
six that the CEO of truly was like saying that
163
00:08:28.879 --> 00:08:30.879
this was going to be a six billion dollar market.
164
00:08:31.519 --> 00:08:35.960
And so seventy five million dollars to this woman CEO
165
00:08:36.120 --> 00:08:38.840
is nothing. It's so twenty bucks to if you're going
166
00:08:38.879 --> 00:08:40.039
to bring in that kind of money.
167
00:08:43.120 --> 00:08:47.480
And again she's she mentioned six billion dollar industry. I mean,
168
00:08:48.559 --> 00:08:51.279
that's wild, right, it's wild to some of us even
169
00:08:51.360 --> 00:08:53.840
trying to wrap our heads, right, it's it's wild to
170
00:08:53.879 --> 00:08:55.639
try to wrap her head around that number.
171
00:08:55.840 --> 00:08:56.080
Right.
172
00:08:56.639 --> 00:08:58.320
And you know, on top.
173
00:08:58.080 --> 00:09:02.679
Of that, this would actually make us the largest legal
174
00:09:02.840 --> 00:09:05.720
cannabis market in the nation, and not just the nation,
175
00:09:05.759 --> 00:09:08.480
in the world. We don't so when we you know,
176
00:09:08.480 --> 00:09:11.080
when we hear about the horrors that are happening in
177
00:09:11.399 --> 00:09:15.200
you know, Colorado, California, Washington, et cetera, et cetera, and
178
00:09:15.240 --> 00:09:17.679
we think about, wow, there's so much marijuana being sold
179
00:09:17.679 --> 00:09:19.879
out there. That is a drop in the bucket as
180
00:09:19.919 --> 00:09:21.759
to what the industry has already come.
181
00:09:21.679 --> 00:09:24.919
Out to say. We will look like we will leave.
182
00:09:24.759 --> 00:09:28.320
The nation and then internationally we will leave the world
183
00:09:28.720 --> 00:09:31.200
in legal cannabis market.
184
00:09:32.080 --> 00:09:35.840
Well, so, I say, doctor Spenser, one of the things
185
00:09:35.879 --> 00:09:37.519
I wanted to ask you about you know, we're just
186
00:09:37.559 --> 00:09:40.879
talking about the smoke and the smelling stuff is you know,
187
00:09:40.919 --> 00:09:43.720
with cigarettes, is always thinking about secondhand smoke, you know,
188
00:09:43.840 --> 00:09:46.440
and affecting kids and that kind of stuff in the home.
189
00:09:47.240 --> 00:09:49.559
Do you see the same kind of effects with marijuana?
190
00:09:49.600 --> 00:09:53.879
I mean, does it have the same Is drug transferred
191
00:09:53.919 --> 00:09:54.960
through secondhand smoke?
192
00:09:55.960 --> 00:09:56.120
Oh?
193
00:09:56.159 --> 00:09:59.440
Absolutely? I mean, and listen, it's just as basic as
194
00:09:59.440 --> 00:10:03.159
saying we're not supposed to inhale anything other than oxygen, right,
195
00:10:03.240 --> 00:10:05.480
So if it'd stands to reason that you're not supposed
196
00:10:05.519 --> 00:10:10.759
to inhale a combusted plant, a combusted material, So there's
197
00:10:10.799 --> 00:10:14.159
of course secondhand effect to that, and we don't want
198
00:10:14.200 --> 00:10:16.399
to smell it. And you know, we have the Clean
199
00:10:16.480 --> 00:10:19.159
Indoor Air Act here in Florida for a reason because
200
00:10:19.159 --> 00:10:21.000
we didn't want to inhale tobacco smoke.
201
00:10:21.039 --> 00:10:22.639
We didn't want to be subject to it.
202
00:10:22.639 --> 00:10:24.600
If you want to go smoke your cigarette, that's fine,
203
00:10:24.639 --> 00:10:25.919
I understand.
204
00:10:25.639 --> 00:10:28.320
It's an addiction. You got to have it, go smoke
205
00:10:28.360 --> 00:10:29.960
it somewhere else, right, And so we.
206
00:10:29.960 --> 00:10:33.159
Have the Clean Indoor Air Act that doesn't apply to
207
00:10:33.240 --> 00:10:35.720
marijuana smoke, so we will not be able to fall
208
00:10:35.840 --> 00:10:38.600
under that as a protection for those of us that
209
00:10:38.679 --> 00:10:41.120
don't want to inhale it or don't want our children
210
00:10:41.200 --> 00:10:44.279
to be subject to inhaling it or breathing in that
211
00:10:44.480 --> 00:10:49.840
toxic essentially carcinogen and again the smoke, all of it.
212
00:10:49.960 --> 00:10:51.360
We don't want this in our state.
213
00:10:51.399 --> 00:10:54.080
It doesn't belong in our neighborhoods, that doesn't belong in
214
00:10:54.159 --> 00:10:58.240
our communities, and it certainly doesn't belong in our state constitution.
215
00:10:59.519 --> 00:11:03.960
So I was very impressed that the CEO of Citadel
216
00:11:04.039 --> 00:11:06.480
that moved down here from Chicago because I guess it
217
00:11:06.519 --> 00:11:08.159
wasn't a great place, has.
218
00:11:08.039 --> 00:11:10.960
Donated twelve million dollars to fight this.
219
00:11:11.559 --> 00:11:15.519
So tell me about that relationship, because you know, it's
220
00:11:15.559 --> 00:11:18.320
not like Chicago's. Chicago has lots of issues, and I'm
221
00:11:18.360 --> 00:11:22.080
sure Pot's for the problem, so you know he doesn't
222
00:11:22.080 --> 00:11:24.720
want that in Florida. I was so impressed because I
223
00:11:24.759 --> 00:11:26.879
it's the first time I read this. Was getting ready
224
00:11:26.879 --> 00:11:27.480
for you to come on.
225
00:11:28.960 --> 00:11:29.279
Yeah.
226
00:11:29.360 --> 00:11:34.919
I mean, I'm obviously super grateful. It's great, it's helpful
227
00:11:35.000 --> 00:11:37.799
for us. We needed it, and I'm super appreciative. I'm
228
00:11:37.799 --> 00:11:40.519
thankful for everybody that's donated to the campaign.
229
00:11:41.600 --> 00:11:43.759
I don't know why he did, except for that.
230
00:11:43.799 --> 00:11:46.440
He cares about Florida and he doesn't want Florida to
231
00:11:46.440 --> 00:11:48.720
look like these other states. And I would encourage, just
232
00:11:48.759 --> 00:11:51.279
like you did, I would encourage your listeners to read
233
00:11:51.320 --> 00:11:53.480
his op ed and get a real understanding why he
234
00:11:53.559 --> 00:11:56.840
cares about the state. And again, you know, the only
235
00:11:56.879 --> 00:12:00.000
people that have really bragged about how much money they're made,
236
00:12:00.000 --> 00:12:04.639
making or spending on this initiative is the Megan marijuana corporations.
237
00:12:05.240 --> 00:12:06.720
Yeah, it's it's embarrassing.
238
00:12:07.039 --> 00:12:12.799
So let's talk about like, for example, Senator Joe Gruder's
239
00:12:12.919 --> 00:12:17.519
I was so disappointed that he came out now and
240
00:12:17.519 --> 00:12:21.480
and his four Amendment three. And I've had a you know,
241
00:12:21.720 --> 00:12:26.480
Chairman Evan Power on the representative doctor Joel Rudman that
242
00:12:26.600 --> 00:12:29.360
just came on our representative was just on last week
243
00:12:29.519 --> 00:12:33.200
and they are against it. So so why do you
244
00:12:33.240 --> 00:12:36.720
think he partnered with you know the other side.
245
00:12:36.919 --> 00:12:39.519
I'm just shocked because.
246
00:12:39.279 --> 00:12:39.840
Pot to me.
247
00:12:40.039 --> 00:12:43.799
And you're you're a doctor and you.
248
00:12:43.759 --> 00:12:46.320
See these not a fancy doctor.
249
00:12:46.480 --> 00:12:49.480
I'm not a fans doctor, but I definitely I have
250
00:12:49.559 --> 00:12:50.159
a doctorate.
251
00:12:50.320 --> 00:12:52.720
Yes, it worked very hard for that well.
252
00:12:52.600 --> 00:12:55.759
And I mean, you deal with these people that obviously
253
00:12:55.759 --> 00:12:59.639
have smoked pot, so.
254
00:12:58.279 --> 00:12:59.279
So yeah, is it?
255
00:12:59.360 --> 00:12:59.840
Yeah?
256
00:13:00.080 --> 00:13:01.559
I mean to me, it's a gateway drug. Is it
257
00:13:01.559 --> 00:13:03.919
not a gateweight drug? I ask people like you that
258
00:13:04.039 --> 00:13:04.720
all the time.
259
00:13:05.639 --> 00:13:08.279
Yeah, And I think this is where we get into that.
260
00:13:08.320 --> 00:13:10.159
There's a little bit of an argument about that, right.
261
00:13:10.200 --> 00:13:12.480
And you have individuals that will say, well, I've been
262
00:13:12.519 --> 00:13:15.320
smoking pop for decades and I haven't used anything else,
263
00:13:15.360 --> 00:13:18.240
and that I always say, good for you, that's awesome,
264
00:13:18.759 --> 00:13:21.279
I'm glad for you, and that's wonderful. But for the
265
00:13:21.320 --> 00:13:24.759
individuals that we see in treatment, that's not the case.
266
00:13:25.399 --> 00:13:28.679
They couldn't stop at marijuana. They kept using other substances.
267
00:13:28.720 --> 00:13:32.120
They either started with marijuana, tobacco, alcohol, or.
268
00:13:32.000 --> 00:13:33.480
Sneaking prescription drugs.
269
00:13:33.840 --> 00:13:39.480
So great, that's wonderful, but that's not the story of everybody, right,
270
00:13:39.639 --> 00:13:41.440
So we have to pay attention and we have to
271
00:13:41.519 --> 00:13:44.679
be cognitant of these other individuals that are suffering from
272
00:13:44.720 --> 00:13:48.679
addiction and didn't just start out with hard drugs. They
273
00:13:48.720 --> 00:13:52.960
started out with those other drugs. And as far as
274
00:13:53.039 --> 00:13:56.279
you know, our elected officials and Senator Gruters and you know,
275
00:13:56.320 --> 00:13:59.759
he's a smart man. So I am I'm surprised, I'm dismayed,
276
00:14:00.080 --> 00:14:00.879
I'm confused.
277
00:14:00.919 --> 00:14:04.440
Well, that's because he's been going races, he's been going place.
278
00:14:04.600 --> 00:14:08.000
I don't you know the latter apport us. So I'm
279
00:14:08.039 --> 00:14:08.840
just blown away.
280
00:14:09.919 --> 00:14:12.519
Yeah no, and I don't get it, but I don't
281
00:14:13.000 --> 00:14:16.200
try to get it either, right, because politicians on both
282
00:14:16.200 --> 00:14:19.120
sides of this issue are going to have opinions, and
283
00:14:19.320 --> 00:14:21.240
the bottom line is people are going to make their
284
00:14:21.279 --> 00:14:23.240
own decision on this. And this is why I encourage
285
00:14:23.279 --> 00:14:25.559
all of your listeners and everyone to read the amendment
286
00:14:25.559 --> 00:14:28.960
and understand the impact that this will have and not
287
00:14:29.120 --> 00:14:31.799
necessarily look to elected leaders, which I don't think they
288
00:14:31.840 --> 00:14:34.799
do for what decisions they are going to make on
289
00:14:34.840 --> 00:14:38.200
a constitutional amendment issue. So I don't know why he
290
00:14:38.279 --> 00:14:40.080
did it. I don't know why he's doing it. I
291
00:14:40.120 --> 00:14:42.559
don't know why President Trump is doing it. And I'm
292
00:14:42.600 --> 00:14:45.000
really not that concerned about it, because again, if we
293
00:14:45.039 --> 00:14:47.240
even want to look at President Trump or Joe Ruder's,
294
00:14:47.879 --> 00:14:49.720
you know, if we're trying to say, well, oh it's
295
00:14:49.720 --> 00:14:52.919
it's the Republican Party, we can actually go and look
296
00:14:52.919 --> 00:14:56.200
at Matt Gates, who is pro marijuana. He's a millennial,
297
00:14:56.480 --> 00:14:58.679
he is propot, and he is actually.
298
00:14:58.440 --> 00:14:59.360
Against this amendment.
299
00:14:59.480 --> 00:15:02.639
So that says more about the amendment than it does.
300
00:15:02.679 --> 00:15:04.440
Who's for or against it?
301
00:15:04.720 --> 00:15:07.440
Well, I had a guest on a political pundit here
302
00:15:07.440 --> 00:15:10.080
in Florida and he's and he's friends with Joe, and
303
00:15:10.559 --> 00:15:13.879
he said, Joe's been open about it. Senator Gruters that
304
00:15:14.039 --> 00:15:18.679
it's to keep the pot safe for people that you
305
00:15:18.679 --> 00:15:20.919
know take it, so there's nothing else in it. But
306
00:15:21.399 --> 00:15:24.840
I'm anti this is a nicky Freed agenda item. Why
307
00:15:24.879 --> 00:15:27.639
would I ever support this to trash our state?
308
00:15:28.159 --> 00:15:29.879
And you know the other the other issue is the
309
00:15:29.919 --> 00:15:32.799
potency thing that and that's what really bothers me. You know,
310
00:15:32.840 --> 00:15:37.559
this is I'm sure you could probably agree or probably
311
00:15:37.559 --> 00:15:39.000
know far more than I do about it. But you know,
312
00:15:39.039 --> 00:15:42.360
your homegrown pot or the pot from you know, I'm
313
00:15:42.399 --> 00:15:44.440
sixty nine years old, okay, the pot from when I
314
00:15:44.480 --> 00:15:48.480
was a teenager is nothing compared to what it is today.
315
00:15:48.480 --> 00:15:52.000
And this stuff, the super super thc stuff that you
316
00:15:52.039 --> 00:15:55.120
can that you can get in these dispensaries. There is
317
00:15:55.159 --> 00:15:58.399
there any desire to control that or or is that
318
00:15:58.440 --> 00:15:59.480
even being discussed?
319
00:16:00.360 --> 00:16:02.960
Well, I mean the desire to control is to vote
320
00:16:03.039 --> 00:16:06.360
no on Amendment three, right, And then you know it's
321
00:16:06.360 --> 00:16:08.240
funny that you mentioned that because just a couple of
322
00:16:08.360 --> 00:16:11.759
days ago, the ES campaign, you know posted how well
323
00:16:12.480 --> 00:16:14.679
you know, during I think it was Nixon.
324
00:16:14.720 --> 00:16:15.399
They may have put it out.
325
00:16:15.399 --> 00:16:17.360
I can't remember, but I believe it was the Nixon era.
326
00:16:17.559 --> 00:16:19.399
You know that even Nixon said that, oh, there was
327
00:16:19.440 --> 00:16:20.399
nothing wrong with marijuana.
328
00:16:20.399 --> 00:16:21.639
I can't remember what the exact thing is.
329
00:16:21.679 --> 00:16:24.240
You can find it on X And it's funny that
330
00:16:24.639 --> 00:16:26.600
they're going all the way back to, you know, the
331
00:16:27.039 --> 00:16:30.000
sixties and seventies to talk about how, oh, it wasn't
332
00:16:30.000 --> 00:16:31.799
a big deal back then, or even like you're saying,
333
00:16:31.799 --> 00:16:36.120
the potency of it, because in the nineteen sixties and seventies,
334
00:16:36.159 --> 00:16:39.399
we were looking at point seventy five to three percent
335
00:16:39.559 --> 00:16:44.960
THHD content in your raw herbal marijuana, right and now.
336
00:16:45.399 --> 00:16:48.080
Prime example, if you go to some of these websites
337
00:16:48.120 --> 00:16:51.879
and you look at what the strains are now, and
338
00:16:52.000 --> 00:16:55.120
the strains of the marijuana, they're boasting upwards of thirty
339
00:16:55.120 --> 00:16:59.919
five percent THCHC. So to your point, you're absolutely correct,
340
00:17:00.240 --> 00:17:03.799
that's an issue if we recognize that people were getting
341
00:17:03.840 --> 00:17:07.640
stoned and high at woodstock in the sixties and seventies,
342
00:17:07.680 --> 00:17:12.359
seventies and again during the era that they're referencing however
343
00:17:12.400 --> 00:17:13.400
many decades ago.
344
00:17:13.440 --> 00:17:15.880
That is with fifty I don't mass very well. I
345
00:17:15.880 --> 00:17:20.640
think it's at least five decades ago. Right, it's nowhere
346
00:17:20.759 --> 00:17:23.319
near the potency. In fact, it's what.
347
00:17:23.480 --> 00:17:28.559
You're selling again, Mega marijuana corporations, industry, et cetera. Are
348
00:17:29.039 --> 00:17:32.000
upwards of thirty percent TC. And that's just for the
349
00:17:32.079 --> 00:17:33.119
raw herbal material.
350
00:17:33.160 --> 00:17:34.000
We're not even.
351
00:17:33.880 --> 00:17:37.200
Talking about the oils and the vapes and the shatter
352
00:17:37.559 --> 00:17:41.160
that they're selling. That's seventy eighty ninety five percent THC.
353
00:17:43.480 --> 00:17:47.039
Is there any way for the legislator to control that?
354
00:17:48.000 --> 00:17:49.880
I mean even they're saying passes, I mean, is that
355
00:17:50.079 --> 00:17:52.039
is that just? Or is the sky the limit? Whatever
356
00:17:52.079 --> 00:17:55.160
they want to shove out the door the limit?
357
00:17:55.519 --> 00:17:59.039
Because again, I mean, there's nothing in here in this language,
358
00:17:59.039 --> 00:18:01.680
and the amendment says that they can regulate or even
359
00:18:01.680 --> 00:18:04.759
put the cap on the potency. Right, So again you're
360
00:18:04.759 --> 00:18:07.440
going to be inconsistent with the language of the men
361
00:18:07.480 --> 00:18:10.519
because they don't even mention potency. Now they do mention.
362
00:18:10.720 --> 00:18:13.680
So you'll find this interesting because you'll understand they do
363
00:18:13.799 --> 00:18:18.359
allow three ounces for individuals to possess, which is the
364
00:18:18.480 --> 00:18:20.079
nation's highest limit.
365
00:18:20.839 --> 00:18:21.680
Three ounces.
366
00:18:21.799 --> 00:18:24.599
You could roll one hundred to one hundred and fifty
367
00:18:24.680 --> 00:18:27.240
joints or pack a cone as the kids call it.
368
00:18:27.279 --> 00:18:29.160
Now, that's a lot of weed.
369
00:18:29.400 --> 00:18:32.079
Oh my gosh, these are things I don't know. Oh
370
00:18:32.119 --> 00:18:39.079
my goodness, that's scandalous. Well, on the postcard that my still.
371
00:18:38.880 --> 00:18:41.519
Have steam coming out of my ears with President Trump
372
00:18:41.559 --> 00:18:45.160
on it, it's a quote from September eighth, and he
373
00:18:45.599 --> 00:18:48.279
says in the quote, I believe it's time to end
374
00:18:48.400 --> 00:18:52.440
needless arrests and incarcerations of adults for small amounts of
375
00:18:52.440 --> 00:18:57.119
marijuana for personal use. We must implement smart regulations while
376
00:18:57.119 --> 00:19:01.359
providing access for adults to safe tested product. As a filoridian,
377
00:19:01.400 --> 00:19:02.359
I'll be voting yes.
378
00:19:02.400 --> 00:19:02.920
And this is.
379
00:19:02.880 --> 00:19:06.680
Blown up and highlighted on Amendment three this November, and
380
00:19:06.759 --> 00:19:09.960
I'm fine with you know, And that was that was
381
00:19:10.000 --> 00:19:14.839
another fallacy too, that the prisons are full of, you know, potheads,
382
00:19:14.880 --> 00:19:18.680
And I get and I saw on your website. I
383
00:19:18.680 --> 00:19:20.759
think you guys, you know, you put that to bed
384
00:19:20.759 --> 00:19:24.079
that that's not true because they're they Yeah, they smoked pot,
385
00:19:24.119 --> 00:19:25.559
but they also like robbed a bank.
386
00:19:25.640 --> 00:19:28.160
That's why they're in jail, you.
387
00:19:28.160 --> 00:19:31.279
Know, right, exactly, Yeah, And that's what it does. It
388
00:19:31.440 --> 00:19:33.960
fascinates me. I was just in a debate the other.
389
00:19:33.920 --> 00:19:37.240
Day and the same issue came up, and I'm fascinated
390
00:19:37.240 --> 00:19:39.319
by it. But to exactly your point, this has already
391
00:19:39.319 --> 00:19:41.640
been debunked. Why are you still using this as a
392
00:19:41.680 --> 00:19:46.240
talking point. It's not true, it's not true. You're entitled
393
00:19:46.279 --> 00:19:48.440
to your own opinion, you are not entitled to your
394
00:19:48.440 --> 00:19:52.119
own facts. And the fact is there are zero individuals
395
00:19:52.160 --> 00:19:56.279
that are in prison incarcerated for simple marijuana possession. It's
396
00:19:56.440 --> 00:19:59.559
just not true. We have debunked it, and yet it's
397
00:19:59.559 --> 00:20:02.480
still a talking point of theirs that I am fascinated by,
398
00:20:02.920 --> 00:20:07.839
because again, there's thirty seven people that are in prison
399
00:20:08.079 --> 00:20:09.160
for simple possession.
400
00:20:09.200 --> 00:20:11.000
But what you need to understand.
401
00:20:10.519 --> 00:20:12.559
About that is that is coupled with, like you said,
402
00:20:12.880 --> 00:20:16.839
other higher level offenses. There is no one in our
403
00:20:16.960 --> 00:20:20.279
jails and prisons for simple marijuana possession charges.
404
00:20:20.319 --> 00:20:24.200
And it's actually offensive that they believe that we as.
405
00:20:24.160 --> 00:20:27.680
Fluritians, are going to continue to pay attention to this
406
00:20:27.799 --> 00:20:30.640
false narrative and vote yes because we're not. We're gonna
407
00:20:30.720 --> 00:20:33.480
vote no because it's a flat out lie. It's not true.
408
00:20:33.519 --> 00:20:37.799
It's been debunked, and I'm pro you.
409
00:20:37.759 --> 00:20:40.759
Know, if somebody does have it, let's find the hell
410
00:20:40.799 --> 00:20:41.279
out of them.
411
00:20:41.720 --> 00:20:46.079
You know, is that your initiative? I mean, what is vote?
412
00:20:46.359 --> 00:20:46.599
Yeah?
413
00:20:46.880 --> 00:20:47.640
Are you doing?
414
00:20:49.160 --> 00:20:52.400
None of us want kids or young adults to be
415
00:20:52.680 --> 00:20:56.319
in jail for simple marijuana possession or holding a joint.
416
00:20:56.799 --> 00:20:57.440
None of us do.
417
00:20:57.599 --> 00:21:00.319
Like, that's preposterous to think that anybody in this state.
418
00:21:00.200 --> 00:21:03.920
Of Florida would support that. What I would be interested
419
00:21:03.960 --> 00:21:04.400
in is.
420
00:21:04.359 --> 00:21:08.720
The conversations around civil citation programs, the conversations around drug courts, which,
421
00:21:08.880 --> 00:21:12.079
by the way, if an adolescent is caught with a
422
00:21:12.160 --> 00:21:15.599
joint or more than that, typically there are drug courts
423
00:21:15.599 --> 00:21:18.000
and juvenile drug courts in place for them, and there's
424
00:21:18.039 --> 00:21:22.960
there's opportunities for treatment services and interventions that the other
425
00:21:23.039 --> 00:21:26.079
side just isn't even talking about. So again, yeah, we
426
00:21:26.160 --> 00:21:28.680
don't want people in jail for that, but.
427
00:21:28.720 --> 00:21:29.640
The fact is they're not.
428
00:21:30.640 --> 00:21:33.759
They're not, and to say that they are is a
429
00:21:33.759 --> 00:21:38.759
flat out lie. It's insulting to Floridians who are quite intelligent,
430
00:21:39.160 --> 00:21:42.160
and then it's insulting to our our first responders and
431
00:21:42.200 --> 00:21:44.960
our law enforcement and our public defenders and our state
432
00:21:45.000 --> 00:21:47.640
attorneys because it's just simply not happening.
433
00:21:49.200 --> 00:21:51.759
I've heard I've heard John Morgan say that, you know that,
434
00:21:52.640 --> 00:21:56.599
you know, we need to approve Amendment three and then
435
00:21:56.720 --> 00:21:58.319
and then after it to proved, we need to go
436
00:21:58.400 --> 00:22:00.880
and let all all the people in in jail that
437
00:22:01.279 --> 00:22:03.759
we're in there convicted for marijuana possession out.
438
00:22:04.480 --> 00:22:05.920
So you know, that's kind of do you have a
439
00:22:05.920 --> 00:22:09.559
little toonko trunk or a matchbox car, because that is
440
00:22:09.599 --> 00:22:11.160
how many zero would fit into.
441
00:22:11.319 --> 00:22:14.519
I mean, it's just it's not true. It's not true.
442
00:22:14.559 --> 00:22:17.559
And if that's all that you continue to have, that
443
00:22:17.680 --> 00:22:21.759
is your talking point. That says again more about your
444
00:22:21.799 --> 00:22:24.839
amendment than it does about the actual.
445
00:22:24.559 --> 00:22:27.519
Real issues, because it's it's it's just not true. It's
446
00:22:27.720 --> 00:22:29.480
I don't know how many times I can see this.
447
00:22:29.759 --> 00:22:33.200
I'm always jumping up and down. You know, true, it's
448
00:22:33.240 --> 00:22:34.039
been debunked.
449
00:22:34.759 --> 00:22:36.839
The problem, the problem that you're having and I and
450
00:22:36.880 --> 00:22:40.720
I understand is very well having been in politics for
451
00:22:40.799 --> 00:22:44.640
quite a while. Here you're trying to fight an emotional
452
00:22:44.720 --> 00:22:48.200
response that's, oh, we have all these people in jail.
453
00:22:48.279 --> 00:22:52.759
You know that's a terrible thing, you know, versus the facts. Well,
454
00:22:52.759 --> 00:22:55.839
the facts are there's nobody in jail, Okay. The facts
455
00:22:55.960 --> 00:22:59.920
is this this stuff is dangerous and the facts never
456
00:23:00.160 --> 00:23:03.000
trump the emotion. That's the problem that we're having.
457
00:23:03.039 --> 00:23:05.839
Because I was the whole DNC it was all emotion.
458
00:23:07.079 --> 00:23:08.759
Well, when we talked about to it, we didn't.
459
00:23:09.039 --> 00:23:12.759
We're not in dispute of our belief system that individuals
460
00:23:12.839 --> 00:23:15.279
shouldn't be in jail for that about We're not refuting
461
00:23:15.319 --> 00:23:17.119
that we're on the same page. But then don't turn
462
00:23:17.160 --> 00:23:20.039
around a lie to Floridians and say that there are
463
00:23:20.240 --> 00:23:22.359
all these people in jail in prisons for a simple
464
00:23:22.359 --> 00:23:23.759
marijuana possession.
465
00:23:25.079 --> 00:23:26.960
Doing this right, you know, emotion.
466
00:23:27.400 --> 00:23:30.160
And the reason I found you all was because I
467
00:23:30.279 --> 00:23:33.920
follow Christina. I can never say her last name push pushoi.
468
00:23:34.960 --> 00:23:36.240
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
469
00:23:36.279 --> 00:23:39.079
She's like one of your number one cheerleaders for remember
470
00:23:39.119 --> 00:23:40.000
three and four.
471
00:23:40.079 --> 00:23:42.440
So I need to I need to get to her
472
00:23:42.480 --> 00:23:44.519
because she's amazing. I want to have her on, but
473
00:23:44.559 --> 00:23:47.680
she literally like today, she's she's always like, she's already
474
00:23:47.720 --> 00:23:53.920
posted stuff two things, three things on your from your page.
475
00:23:54.279 --> 00:23:57.480
So I love that she's fighting the fight and obviously
476
00:23:57.519 --> 00:24:02.839
the governor's on board with this. Yeah, I mean, how
477
00:24:02.880 --> 00:24:03.799
are why are you?
478
00:24:03.960 --> 00:24:04.160
First?
479
00:24:04.200 --> 00:24:06.359
I want to ask you, why are you so passionate
480
00:24:06.839 --> 00:24:08.839
about this? Because I see that you were the face
481
00:24:09.400 --> 00:24:13.640
of this when it was vote no on two for
482
00:24:13.759 --> 00:24:17.160
two campaigns to defeat this before. So why why are
483
00:24:17.200 --> 00:24:20.400
you so passionate? I mean, I'm a retired military officer.
484
00:24:20.480 --> 00:24:22.799
John was in the military. We have you ever done
485
00:24:22.839 --> 00:24:26.119
a drug ever? My drug is a college girl drink
486
00:24:26.599 --> 00:24:29.839
on a weekend, you know, And I don't understand why
487
00:24:29.880 --> 00:24:33.160
somebody would want this, and especially now when it doesn't
488
00:24:33.200 --> 00:24:35.480
seem like it's the levels of like what John was
489
00:24:35.519 --> 00:24:37.960
talking about about the good old days, which you know,
490
00:24:38.559 --> 00:24:41.079
I've never done a single drug ever, and I don't
491
00:24:41.079 --> 00:24:43.160
know why somebody would want this in their body. But
492
00:24:43.920 --> 00:24:46.680
why are you so passionate doctor Spencer about this?
493
00:24:47.160 --> 00:24:47.480
Well?
494
00:24:48.039 --> 00:24:50.319
Thank you both for your service too. I'm I come
495
00:24:50.359 --> 00:24:54.119
from a military family and I appreciate your service, and
496
00:24:54.200 --> 00:24:56.839
I appreciate all of our first responders in our military.
497
00:24:56.960 --> 00:24:57.599
So thank you.
498
00:24:58.160 --> 00:25:00.200
And I mean, for me, it comes down to this
499
00:25:00.279 --> 00:25:03.680
is my area of expertise, right, I mean, I have
500
00:25:03.799 --> 00:25:06.960
worked in the substances prevention field, working you know, specifically
501
00:25:06.960 --> 00:25:10.319
with adolescents, for about twenty four years, and I see
502
00:25:10.359 --> 00:25:14.079
the devastation that this drug can eventually cause, whether it.
503
00:25:14.039 --> 00:25:16.839
Be as simple as and it's not simple, but it.
504
00:25:16.799 --> 00:25:19.759
Is smaller on the scale of full blown addiction to
505
00:25:20.119 --> 00:25:24.480
you know, more dangerous drugs I shouldn't say more dangerous drugs,
506
00:25:24.480 --> 00:25:25.839
but drugs in general.
507
00:25:25.559 --> 00:25:28.440
And moving on to other drugs.
508
00:25:28.960 --> 00:25:31.880
You know, even if a kids skip schooled because they're higher,
509
00:25:31.920 --> 00:25:34.640
because they were high the night before and they couldn't
510
00:25:34.640 --> 00:25:37.039
wake up the next day, et cetera. I worry about kids.
511
00:25:37.119 --> 00:25:41.640
I worry about the exposure that recreational marijuana. Again, when
512
00:25:41.640 --> 00:25:44.880
this industry says they're going to triple the market, that
513
00:25:45.079 --> 00:25:49.720
means increased exposure to our children, and I'm concerned about
514
00:25:49.759 --> 00:25:55.920
that because they are our next generation, our next bright hope. Right,
515
00:25:56.039 --> 00:26:00.200
we should be raising them with clear brains, not flood
516
00:26:00.319 --> 00:26:04.519
with messages that marijuana is just wonderful and it's not
517
00:26:04.640 --> 00:26:08.559
a problem, and it doesn't do any cognitive damage, physical damage, there's.
518
00:26:08.440 --> 00:26:10.599
Nothing wrong with it. We're sending the.
519
00:26:10.559 --> 00:26:13.440
Wrong message to our children. And not only are we
520
00:26:13.480 --> 00:26:15.519
sending the wrong message to our children, but as we
521
00:26:15.599 --> 00:26:18.200
see in other states, there are accidental.
522
00:26:17.640 --> 00:26:20.039
Exposures, there's over exposure.
523
00:26:20.319 --> 00:26:23.200
We have you know, children and young adults and even
524
00:26:23.240 --> 00:26:26.079
older adults ending up in our emergency rooms because the
525
00:26:26.079 --> 00:26:30.720
potency of these products is through the roof, and a
526
00:26:30.839 --> 00:26:33.160
child is not going to be able to tell between
527
00:26:33.200 --> 00:26:36.799
your gummy bear that you have that is loaded with
528
00:26:36.920 --> 00:26:40.200
THCHC that you're only supposed to eat maybe half of, right,
529
00:26:40.519 --> 00:26:43.000
and a bag of gummy bears that they eat.
530
00:26:42.839 --> 00:26:43.640
With their friends.
531
00:26:43.880 --> 00:26:45.440
And they're going to keep eating them and eating them
532
00:26:45.480 --> 00:26:47.720
and eating them, and they're going to over in jeff
533
00:26:47.839 --> 00:26:49.559
and they are going to be in the hospitals. And
534
00:26:49.559 --> 00:26:52.440
that's what we're concerned about. And we're concerned about how
535
00:26:52.480 --> 00:26:55.920
this changes how parents parents. You know, they're going to
536
00:26:55.960 --> 00:26:58.000
have to think about things differently as they do in
537
00:26:58.079 --> 00:27:00.599
other states that have recreational marijuana. You know, do you
538
00:27:00.680 --> 00:27:03.720
send your child over to Johnny's house whose parents may
539
00:27:03.839 --> 00:27:05.799
use their who maybe has a twenty one year old
540
00:27:05.799 --> 00:27:07.759
brother that still lives at home or a sister that
541
00:27:07.839 --> 00:27:10.640
still lives at home and uses marijuana and you don't
542
00:27:10.640 --> 00:27:11.200
want your.
543
00:27:11.119 --> 00:27:12.160
Child exposed to it.
544
00:27:12.160 --> 00:27:15.359
It changes the whole dynamic of our state. It doesn't
545
00:27:15.400 --> 00:27:18.880
belong here, it doesn't belong in our state constitution. And
546
00:27:18.920 --> 00:27:21.319
we all have to vote know in November and send
547
00:27:21.319 --> 00:27:26.279
a very clear message to this insidious mega marijuana industry.
548
00:27:26.319 --> 00:27:28.839
We don't want you here and don't come back.
549
00:27:29.799 --> 00:27:33.119
So how much do we know about about these these
550
00:27:33.160 --> 00:27:36.039
potent versions? I mean, have there been very many studies
551
00:27:36.079 --> 00:27:38.359
done on this stuff? I mean, you know, we've seen
552
00:27:38.359 --> 00:27:41.039
the thing with the school shooter. There's been there's been linking.
553
00:27:41.160 --> 00:27:43.119
You know, these school shooters, most of them are on
554
00:27:43.240 --> 00:27:46.000
marijuana or have a history of being on marijuana, and
555
00:27:46.400 --> 00:27:51.880
they have the psychosis induced from that. And so is
556
00:27:51.920 --> 00:27:54.240
there is there been any correlations that is to say,
557
00:27:54.519 --> 00:27:57.640
you know, twenty percent thc you get this, thirty percent,
558
00:27:57.720 --> 00:27:58.599
you get this level.
559
00:27:59.799 --> 00:28:03.480
No, soh not that I've seen specifically with the actual
560
00:28:03.519 --> 00:28:05.640
like between a twenty percent and a thirty percent, you
561
00:28:05.680 --> 00:28:08.359
see something different. I will say that the studies are
562
00:28:08.359 --> 00:28:11.680
out there about just high potency marijuana in and of itself.
563
00:28:12.200 --> 00:28:13.200
And I think this.
564
00:28:13.319 --> 00:28:16.599
Is what's super hard for people to kind of grasp
565
00:28:16.640 --> 00:28:20.279
and understand. And I think it's because it's so outrageous
566
00:28:20.319 --> 00:28:22.839
and not outrageous and oh I can't believe that, but
567
00:28:22.880 --> 00:28:26.000
it's outrageous inough. Oh goodness, we need to do something
568
00:28:26.039 --> 00:28:28.759
about this epidemic, because this is an epidemic. And you're
569
00:28:28.799 --> 00:28:32.359
absolutely right, there is cannabis induced psychosis. There's lots of
570
00:28:32.440 --> 00:28:36.880
mental health issues that we see that happens among you know,
571
00:28:37.160 --> 00:28:41.400
young people and then into young adulthood, and there's major
572
00:28:41.440 --> 00:28:45.720
concerns about that. I don't get too far into the weeds,
573
00:28:45.880 --> 00:28:49.160
for lack of a better word, about that issue, because
574
00:28:49.200 --> 00:28:53.279
it's it's really hard for people to conceptualize, right if
575
00:28:53.319 --> 00:28:57.200
you don't experience it yourself. And kind of to your
576
00:28:57.279 --> 00:28:59.920
point too, John, a lot of people just don't understand
577
00:29:00.039 --> 00:29:02.519
the potency, right and they're like, Oh, it's just hot,
578
00:29:02.559 --> 00:29:04.759
like I smoked in high school, No big deal. They
579
00:29:04.799 --> 00:29:07.440
don't understand it, and it's really hard for people to
580
00:29:07.480 --> 00:29:11.920
conceptualize what's actually happening with a lot of individuals that
581
00:29:12.039 --> 00:29:17.559
are consistently smoking this high potent, consistently ingesting this high
582
00:29:17.599 --> 00:29:22.680
potent candies, oils, et cetera, and what can potentially happen.
583
00:29:22.799 --> 00:29:25.359
So again, you know.
584
00:29:25.359 --> 00:29:29.519
I choose to focus on the issues about the Constitutional
585
00:29:29.559 --> 00:29:33.559
amendment language itself and not get too far down the
586
00:29:33.599 --> 00:29:36.160
line on all of these other issues. But I promise
587
00:29:36.240 --> 00:29:39.720
you you are dead on and these are major concerns
588
00:29:39.759 --> 00:29:43.279
that your listeners should be paying attention to. But at
589
00:29:43.319 --> 00:29:46.240
the very least I would love for them to read
590
00:29:46.279 --> 00:29:49.160
the amendment and understand the language that's in it and
591
00:29:49.279 --> 00:29:52.000
why we do not want this in our state. It
592
00:29:52.039 --> 00:29:55.279
doesn't belong in our constitution and we need to vote
593
00:29:55.359 --> 00:29:56.400
no in November.
594
00:29:57.200 --> 00:30:00.559
So on second and third order effect here, you know,
595
00:30:00.680 --> 00:30:04.519
is is that I know you're kind of discounting that,
596
00:30:04.599 --> 00:30:08.599
but being in the first order fact being don't pass
597
00:30:09.079 --> 00:30:15.240
the constitutional amendment. But why is that not discussed? What
598
00:30:16.240 --> 00:30:19.079
is it that we talked about recreational stuff, freedom and
599
00:30:19.079 --> 00:30:20.880
all this kind of stuff, but we don't talk about
600
00:30:20.880 --> 00:30:22.960
the second third or effects of this stuff.
601
00:30:24.079 --> 00:30:27.519
I think it's difficult for people to conceptualize. Like I said,
602
00:30:27.599 --> 00:30:30.839
I think it's it's hard for people to understand and
603
00:30:30.880 --> 00:30:33.119
appreciate it. And listen, see how it took me how
604
00:30:33.119 --> 00:30:36.519
many minutes to explain about the THHD content, and then
605
00:30:36.559 --> 00:30:39.559
I haven't even gone into where THHD lives in your.
606
00:30:39.440 --> 00:30:42.759
Body and why that's an issue. Right, So it's not.
607
00:30:42.759 --> 00:30:45.799
An elevator speech that takes thirty seconds to explain to someone.
608
00:30:46.119 --> 00:30:48.680
And it's not for lack of people being smart enough
609
00:30:48.680 --> 00:30:51.240
to get it. We absolutely are, but it's not a
610
00:30:51.599 --> 00:30:54.960
quick enough explanation that they're like, oh okay, and then
611
00:30:55.000 --> 00:30:57.519
you really have to think about it. So it's a
612
00:30:57.599 --> 00:31:02.119
tougher conversation. I love the conversation. I love the education
613
00:31:02.200 --> 00:31:04.200
of it all because I think it really is important,
614
00:31:04.200 --> 00:31:07.240
as you're saying, for people to understand what the secondary
615
00:31:07.240 --> 00:31:12.960
and tertiary effects are of marijuana youth, and not only consistently,
616
00:31:13.480 --> 00:31:15.759
but even just in the short term, when we're talking
617
00:31:15.759 --> 00:31:17.799
about young people's brains.
618
00:31:18.359 --> 00:31:21.160
Well, and I think, like I've seen it on next
619
00:31:21.160 --> 00:31:24.200
I've read articles about it, like for example, Colorado it's
620
00:31:24.279 --> 00:31:28.839
you know, legal, and so all of these people moved
621
00:31:28.880 --> 00:31:31.039
to Colorado because they want to smoke pot every day,
622
00:31:31.039 --> 00:31:33.079
and it's been a madness. I don't want to work,
623
00:31:33.799 --> 00:31:36.640
you know, because it kind of takes away your drive.
624
00:31:36.720 --> 00:31:40.000
I think, I mean, this is your world. What has
625
00:31:40.079 --> 00:31:40.799
the pushback?
626
00:31:40.839 --> 00:31:40.960
Ben?
627
00:31:41.000 --> 00:31:43.880
Because you know, I see on your your Actually somebody
628
00:31:43.880 --> 00:31:47.039
went and debated Leon County and it was spirited over there.
629
00:31:48.400 --> 00:31:51.319
Now and now we're talking, yeah, did you have your
630
00:31:51.400 --> 00:31:55.279
your your you know, vote no pot leaf with a
631
00:31:55.440 --> 00:31:59.279
ghostbuster you know, little thing on it. Yeah, and Flack
632
00:31:59.400 --> 00:32:02.880
vest know. But my question is what has the pushback?
633
00:32:02.920 --> 00:32:03.079
Ben?
634
00:32:03.119 --> 00:32:08.480
Because you're talking money now, and many people people do
635
00:32:08.599 --> 00:32:11.039
awful things when they're trying to get power and money,
636
00:32:11.079 --> 00:32:14.799
and seventy five million dollars even though you know against six,
637
00:32:14.880 --> 00:32:17.359
say six billion dollars is nothing, that's still a lot
638
00:32:17.440 --> 00:32:17.880
of money.
639
00:32:18.279 --> 00:32:20.640
So are are you getting one company?
640
00:32:21.200 --> 00:32:24.640
I mean, because I mean they want, they want to
641
00:32:24.640 --> 00:32:28.319
get in here, and you know, twelve million versus seventy
642
00:32:28.359 --> 00:32:31.680
five is still a substantial more money they have.
643
00:32:33.799 --> 00:32:38.359
True, and again you're absolutely right, it's there insidious. This
644
00:32:38.359 --> 00:32:43.200
this the mega marijuana corporations and their desire to be
645
00:32:43.240 --> 00:32:47.920
in our state overrides you know what. They they claim
646
00:32:47.960 --> 00:32:50.640
to be safe, and it's just not. I mean, it's
647
00:32:50.640 --> 00:32:53.559
a fallacy. It's an absolute fallacy to say that this
648
00:32:53.599 --> 00:32:57.240
will be safe and regulated. Because again, any other state
649
00:32:57.559 --> 00:33:00.759
that has legalized recreational marijuana, they.
650
00:33:00.640 --> 00:33:02.359
See the black market explode.
651
00:33:02.559 --> 00:33:05.000
And why is that. It's because when you put it
652
00:33:05.039 --> 00:33:07.799
in the storefront, it costs more money. And where would
653
00:33:07.799 --> 00:33:10.880
I rather go and get it the less expensive place?
654
00:33:12.759 --> 00:33:13.319
That's true.
655
00:33:13.680 --> 00:33:16.799
Well, I'm just scandalized at all the medical dispensaries that
656
00:33:16.839 --> 00:33:17.920
have popped up in our town.
657
00:33:18.000 --> 00:33:25.079
I mean, interest the medical thing was so right, it's
658
00:33:25.119 --> 00:33:26.480
not a big deal. There's not a whole.
659
00:33:26.359 --> 00:33:31.200
Telve years ago there was one. Because now they're.
660
00:33:30.440 --> 00:33:37.559
Everywhere, they will automatically right, and they will automatically be
661
00:33:37.720 --> 00:33:39.960
able to sell recreational.
662
00:33:40.200 --> 00:33:42.279
Oh so they're so they're gearing up.
663
00:33:42.400 --> 00:33:45.319
Well that's scaring me thinking about it now, because literally,
664
00:33:45.319 --> 00:33:47.559
I'm not kidding, in the last six months there are
665
00:33:47.559 --> 00:33:51.319
so many new ones around here. So so how are
666
00:33:51.359 --> 00:33:54.400
you getting your message out? Because luckily I bumped into
667
00:33:54.400 --> 00:33:56.519
you all and X and and I started stalking you
668
00:33:56.599 --> 00:34:01.680
to come on, because I you know, maybe it's because
669
00:34:01.720 --> 00:34:04.839
I am that military woman, and drugs are bad and
670
00:34:04.880 --> 00:34:07.920
I want our children to not be on drugs, you know,
671
00:34:08.800 --> 00:34:10.960
and I and plus I've been to all these damn
672
00:34:11.000 --> 00:34:13.440
states where you smell it all the time and it's horrific,
673
00:34:13.519 --> 00:34:15.159
right right.
674
00:34:15.320 --> 00:34:18.960
Right, yeah, I mean the industry themselves, they've come out
675
00:34:18.960 --> 00:34:21.880
and said that they they will have a pot shop
676
00:34:21.920 --> 00:34:25.639
on every corner. They liken it to Walmart and CBS,
677
00:34:25.719 --> 00:34:29.000
and they will be everywhere. So they've already told us
678
00:34:29.119 --> 00:34:33.719
what to anticipate and what we will be basically inundated with.
679
00:34:34.440 --> 00:34:37.239
And you know, we fight back with facts, We fight
680
00:34:37.320 --> 00:34:40.280
back with truth, and we do the best we can.
681
00:34:40.400 --> 00:34:42.920
And we will go anywhere and talk to anybody. So
682
00:34:43.079 --> 00:34:47.239
I appreciate you stalking up. You can find us on Facebook, Instagram,
683
00:34:47.679 --> 00:34:51.440
and our website and of course on X so yeah,
684
00:34:51.559 --> 00:34:55.639
and feel free to again check out our website see
685
00:34:55.679 --> 00:34:57.119
what points are like it.
686
00:34:57.480 --> 00:35:00.719
I liked all the media you know story, I mean,
687
00:35:00.719 --> 00:35:02.280
because they were eye opening.
688
00:35:02.360 --> 00:35:05.519
I didn't know about the Citadel guy, you know, and
689
00:35:05.920 --> 00:35:06.679
and then and then.
690
00:35:06.599 --> 00:35:09.800
The CEO of truly if was so nonchalant about the
691
00:35:09.800 --> 00:35:10.280
whole thing.
692
00:35:10.400 --> 00:35:13.719
I'm like, oh my gosh, maybe it's time to start
693
00:35:13.880 --> 00:35:18.920
start playing reefer madness again. You know, I don't know
694
00:35:18.960 --> 00:35:19.800
if you remember that.
695
00:35:20.159 --> 00:35:21.320
I don't know what that is.
696
00:35:22.760 --> 00:35:23.960
Than it was.
697
00:35:24.119 --> 00:35:26.679
It was, you know, a cult.
698
00:35:27.920 --> 00:35:31.480
Oh goodness, gracious. I mean again, we.
699
00:35:31.519 --> 00:35:33.320
Have to pay attention, you know when you do talk
700
00:35:33.360 --> 00:35:36.440
about the money. The only organization on any side of
701
00:35:36.480 --> 00:35:39.800
this argument who has gone on record and talk about
702
00:35:39.840 --> 00:35:43.840
how this amendment passing would be great for the bottom line,
703
00:35:44.119 --> 00:35:46.760
and again they've been braggadocious about it and said it
704
00:35:46.760 --> 00:35:51.159
would be historic is the mega marijuana companies period, And
705
00:35:51.239 --> 00:35:55.039
so they're not. Again, it's about money. It's not about
706
00:35:55.079 --> 00:35:58.119
personal freedom, it's not about safety.
707
00:35:58.280 --> 00:35:59.639
This is about how much.
708
00:35:59.559 --> 00:36:02.760
Money is going to be made in this industry's six
709
00:36:02.960 --> 00:36:06.199
billion dollar industry that will triple the marijuana market.
710
00:36:06.360 --> 00:36:07.159
Let me ask you.
711
00:36:07.039 --> 00:36:10.119
One more question, because we had the New York Times
712
00:36:10.159 --> 00:36:14.760
bestselling author of the Soros Agenda on and soorrow. Seorge
713
00:36:14.760 --> 00:36:18.480
Soros has been the daddy of pushing pot. He wants
714
00:36:18.480 --> 00:36:21.800
it everywhere, and I think it's the numbing of society.
715
00:36:21.880 --> 00:36:22.199
Are you?
716
00:36:22.320 --> 00:36:24.920
Are you seeing his money here as well when it
717
00:36:24.960 --> 00:36:27.239
comes to wanting to make this legal.
718
00:36:28.360 --> 00:36:29.679
You know that I don't know.
719
00:36:30.000 --> 00:36:33.639
I don't mask very well, so I try to leave
720
00:36:33.760 --> 00:36:36.239
all of the finances and everything to you know, all
721
00:36:36.280 --> 00:36:37.719
of the others in the campaign. They're a heck of
722
00:36:37.760 --> 00:36:39.679
a lot smarter than I am, and I focus on
723
00:36:39.719 --> 00:36:41.280
the issues of the amendment.
724
00:36:41.360 --> 00:36:45.719
Okay, and then I back to Governor DeSantis. I know
725
00:36:45.800 --> 00:36:47.519
he's standing right there with you.
726
00:36:48.840 --> 00:36:52.840
Yes, so well, what have we missed?
727
00:36:53.000 --> 00:36:57.480
We appreciate it, doctor, I mean, I think they've talked
728
00:36:57.480 --> 00:36:59.880
about it all, but there's there's still more to talk about.
729
00:37:00.079 --> 00:37:02.559
But we I guess we're I'll have to come back on.
730
00:37:03.039 --> 00:37:06.039
Yes, we'd love to have you on you know, of
731
00:37:06.119 --> 00:37:10.079
October and see you know how it's going. And then
732
00:37:10.400 --> 00:37:13.960
you know, I hope you're getting booked on everybody shows
733
00:37:14.079 --> 00:37:17.119
around the state because we need this out there.
734
00:37:18.960 --> 00:37:22.639
I I am open to all possibilities, and I'm excited.
735
00:37:23.320 --> 00:37:26.320
I am excited about the efforts that we have.
736
00:37:26.519 --> 00:37:30.679
And you know, I'm confident because once people hear and.
737
00:37:30.719 --> 00:37:32.519
Read the truth of.
738
00:37:32.440 --> 00:37:34.719
What's in that amendment and what's not in that amendment,
739
00:37:35.199 --> 00:37:37.360
they are a no vote and they will vote no
740
00:37:37.440 --> 00:37:38.000
in November.
741
00:37:38.079 --> 00:37:39.119
So I am confident that.
742
00:37:39.079 --> 00:37:41.280
We will take care of this and this is not
743
00:37:42.000 --> 00:37:43.280
this is not going to be in our state.
744
00:37:43.880 --> 00:37:46.079
Well, I'm going to burn this postcard that I got
745
00:37:46.159 --> 00:37:48.559
right before you came out, literally right before.
746
00:37:48.280 --> 00:37:49.840
You came on and.
747
00:37:52.079 --> 00:37:56.440
Right and we've been talking with doctor Jessica Spencer. She
748
00:37:56.719 --> 00:38:00.440
is the advocacy director and perfect women for the job.
749
00:38:00.960 --> 00:38:04.280
Vote no on Amendment three, and this really matters for
750
00:38:04.320 --> 00:38:07.440
the great state of Florida. So God bless you, doctor,
751
00:38:07.559 --> 00:38:09.719
and we'll have you back again on Veronicalive.
752
00:38:09.840 --> 00:38:11.599
Thank you so much for Veronica and John
1
00:00:02.080 --> 00:00:04.839
Welcome to Ronica Alive. And we are here with our
2
00:00:05.000 --> 00:00:08.519
next guest. Oh, I've been excited to chat with her,
3
00:00:08.880 --> 00:00:14.919
doctor Jessica Spencer. She is fighting the fight against the
4
00:00:15.640 --> 00:00:19.280
pot Amendment three here in Florida that is on the ballot,
5
00:00:19.719 --> 00:00:23.000
and Jessica, I am fired up over here.
6
00:00:23.039 --> 00:00:24.320
So welcome to Ronica Live.
7
00:00:25.559 --> 00:00:27.399
Well, I'm glad you're fired up. Thank you so much
8
00:00:27.440 --> 00:00:27.960
for having me.
9
00:00:28.519 --> 00:00:31.760
Well, I just texted you before you came on, Literally
10
00:00:31.800 --> 00:00:36.200
before I started doing my show today, I got this
11
00:00:36.479 --> 00:00:40.079
massive postcard with President Trump on it saying how he's
12
00:00:40.200 --> 00:00:43.679
voting for Amendment three, you know, because we've got needless
13
00:00:43.799 --> 00:00:48.640
arrest and incarcerations. And I'm oh, I've got steam coming
14
00:00:48.679 --> 00:00:50.159
out my out of my ears.
15
00:00:50.200 --> 00:00:53.320
I'm just so angry about this. Florida does not want this.
16
00:00:53.560 --> 00:00:55.359
So how do you see all of this?
17
00:00:58.159 --> 00:00:59.920
I mean, if we want to do you want me
18
00:00:59.920 --> 00:01:01.799
to address the Trump supporter?
19
00:01:02.000 --> 00:01:04.000
Do you want me to address the issues? I don't
20
00:01:04.000 --> 00:01:05.359
even know where to begin with any of that.
21
00:01:05.760 --> 00:01:07.519
All right, well, let's start with the issue and then
22
00:01:07.560 --> 00:01:09.200
we'll then we'll talk about Trump.
23
00:01:10.400 --> 00:01:10.840
Perfect.
24
00:01:10.959 --> 00:01:13.799
Perfect, So yeah, I mean this is this has been
25
00:01:13.840 --> 00:01:15.000
my field for a long time.
26
00:01:15.159 --> 00:01:17.560
Substance abuse prevention intervention treatment.
27
00:01:17.680 --> 00:01:23.000
So obviously I am concerned about this being legalized recreationally
28
00:01:23.079 --> 00:01:27.359
in our state, but you know, I'm almost more concerned about.
29
00:01:27.079 --> 00:01:29.599
The fact that it's the constitutional Amendment. So I am
30
00:01:29.799 --> 00:01:31.760
super excited to be here again.
31
00:01:31.840 --> 00:01:33.959
Thank you so much for having me, And I think
32
00:01:33.959 --> 00:01:38.040
it's important for your listeners to understand, if they don't already,
33
00:01:38.280 --> 00:01:41.519
you know that the Constitutional Amendment, if it passes, will
34
00:01:41.560 --> 00:01:45.799
forever be enshrined in our constitution as written. And there
35
00:01:45.799 --> 00:01:49.560
are so many issues and concerns with the language in
36
00:01:49.599 --> 00:01:50.799
this particular amendment.
37
00:01:51.079 --> 00:01:52.000
We have to vote no.
38
00:01:52.439 --> 00:01:54.560
Just on the face of it, we have to vote
39
00:01:54.560 --> 00:01:57.599
no without even getting into the nitty gritty of all
40
00:01:57.640 --> 00:02:01.400
of it. There are major problems, and a constitutional amendment
41
00:02:01.560 --> 00:02:05.359
supersedes all law in our state, right, so this isn't
42
00:02:05.400 --> 00:02:08.080
something that we can legislate our way out of.
43
00:02:08.719 --> 00:02:11.360
When the legislature if this passes, which.
44
00:02:11.159 --> 00:02:14.479
It won't because everyone's going to vote no, the legislature
45
00:02:14.520 --> 00:02:17.680
has to put in an implementing bill and the language
46
00:02:17.840 --> 00:02:22.319
in their bill has to be consistent with the language
47
00:02:22.319 --> 00:02:25.400
of the amendment. And again that's where we run into
48
00:02:25.479 --> 00:02:29.080
major problems because if we don't like the way it's written,
49
00:02:29.120 --> 00:02:32.159
and if we have any question about any part of it,
50
00:02:32.560 --> 00:02:34.400
we will not be able to fix it later on
51
00:02:34.479 --> 00:02:36.560
down the road. Our legislators do not have.
52
00:02:36.520 --> 00:02:39.400
The ability to do that. So I would urge all.
53
00:02:39.240 --> 00:02:43.680
Of your readers, understanding how constitutional amendments work, not only
54
00:02:43.719 --> 00:02:46.800
to vote no, but don't just take my word for it.
55
00:02:46.879 --> 00:02:50.000
Go read the amendment yourself. It's four pages. It's a
56
00:02:50.039 --> 00:02:53.280
pretty easy read. And look at what's in there, but
57
00:02:53.360 --> 00:02:54.960
also what's not in there.
58
00:02:55.759 --> 00:02:58.159
Well, that's funny, because I wasn't thinking, you know, I
59
00:02:58.199 --> 00:03:00.479
was just concerned about it being legal. I was thinking
60
00:03:00.479 --> 00:03:03.560
about that part of it that you've just hammered home.
61
00:03:04.719 --> 00:03:07.240
You know, because because I have James Madison put out
62
00:03:07.280 --> 00:03:09.680
a really nice little booklet that John and I have
63
00:03:09.719 --> 00:03:13.000
been referring to, and we've had a bunch of representatives.
64
00:03:13.360 --> 00:03:16.599
We just had one on prior to you, representative doctor
65
00:03:17.000 --> 00:03:20.240
Joel Rudman, who's a doctor, and so he's ticked about
66
00:03:20.240 --> 00:03:23.159
this because he sees it up clothed with patients how
67
00:03:23.159 --> 00:03:26.280
bad marijuana is. But you know, the overall description says
68
00:03:26.360 --> 00:03:32.400
legalizes recreational marijuana for Floridians and out of state visitors
69
00:03:32.439 --> 00:03:37.560
twenty one and older. And so what I mean that's
70
00:03:37.599 --> 00:03:41.319
bad for me. I don't want people smoking marijuana around
71
00:03:41.360 --> 00:03:45.639
the around our state. I've been to states now, Seattle,
72
00:03:46.080 --> 00:03:48.759
I was in Vegas the weekend it became legal.
73
00:03:48.800 --> 00:03:51.000
It was the most horrific experience of my life.
74
00:03:51.400 --> 00:03:52.879
And then I go to New York City all the
75
00:03:52.960 --> 00:03:56.080
time and you just smell it everywhere. So I just
76
00:03:56.680 --> 00:03:59.080
I just fear that that's going to be Florida. But
77
00:03:59.439 --> 00:04:03.560
dot we have literally I think I can count six
78
00:04:03.639 --> 00:04:06.800
dispensaries that have popped up here for medical marijuana, which
79
00:04:06.800 --> 00:04:10.039
on pro medical marijuana. If you're suffering, so I feel
80
00:04:10.080 --> 00:04:12.080
like people can't have access to pot.
81
00:04:12.599 --> 00:04:14.439
So so well they do.
82
00:04:14.560 --> 00:04:16.399
And there's there's a huge.
83
00:04:16.240 --> 00:04:18.480
Piece of that, the medical you know, there's been sort
84
00:04:18.480 --> 00:04:20.480
of this thought process, and I want, you know, if
85
00:04:20.519 --> 00:04:23.240
listeners are concerned about the medical piece, I want them
86
00:04:23.279 --> 00:04:26.800
to understand that a vote no on Amendment three keeps
87
00:04:26.800 --> 00:04:30.319
the medical marijuana law that we have here now status quo.
88
00:04:30.439 --> 00:04:34.240
It I love that marijuana here in our state, correct, yep.
89
00:04:35.519 --> 00:04:38.560
And then let's get back to why it's bad.
90
00:04:38.680 --> 00:04:41.040
I guess one of the things that shocked me and
91
00:04:41.079 --> 00:04:43.920
I've talked with all the representatives, and then I went
92
00:04:43.959 --> 00:04:47.160
through your website and you know, read read all of
93
00:04:47.199 --> 00:04:50.319
the the things that you all are posting, and I
94
00:04:50.360 --> 00:04:54.839
know the governor is definitely on board with voting no
95
00:04:55.759 --> 00:05:01.160
for this. Where I'm where do we go from here
96
00:05:01.199 --> 00:05:04.759
to stop this? The money that these people have, true
97
00:05:04.839 --> 00:05:07.519
lief is pumped in here seventy five million dollars at
98
00:05:07.600 --> 00:05:11.360
least already, Like that's scandalous to me and the corporate greed.
99
00:05:11.439 --> 00:05:14.160
So so chat about that and explain why this is.
100
00:05:14.160 --> 00:05:14.759
A bad thing.
101
00:05:15.959 --> 00:05:18.160
I will and I want to talk about the corporate greed,
102
00:05:18.199 --> 00:05:19.560
and I want to touch on one thing too, where
103
00:05:19.600 --> 00:05:22.199
you talk about the smell, and then I will absolutely
104
00:05:22.199 --> 00:05:26.000
go into the the a marijuana baply that we're looking at.
105
00:05:26.160 --> 00:05:28.399
There really is there is not enough time in the
106
00:05:28.480 --> 00:05:28.920
day for this.
107
00:05:29.199 --> 00:05:32.040
But you know, to your point about the smell, absolutely
108
00:05:32.920 --> 00:05:36.600
huge issue in other states with recreational marijuana and shoot,
109
00:05:36.680 --> 00:05:38.600
I mean it's a huge problem right now even with
110
00:05:38.680 --> 00:05:42.360
medical here. We already smell it here in Florida. So
111
00:05:43.000 --> 00:05:45.680
the main issue when it comes to smoking in public
112
00:05:45.720 --> 00:05:47.600
that we need to be mindful and when you know
113
00:05:47.639 --> 00:05:50.079
your listeners and when yourself if you're reading the amendment,
114
00:05:50.800 --> 00:05:53.240
we have to be very clear that the author did
115
00:05:53.279 --> 00:05:56.120
not put in anything that would allow the legislature or
116
00:05:56.160 --> 00:05:59.000
local municipalities to ban public smoking.
117
00:05:59.519 --> 00:06:01.720
And literally, all they needed to.
118
00:06:01.680 --> 00:06:05.959
Do was strike through one word in the amendment language.
119
00:06:06.000 --> 00:06:09.199
They just needed to strike through the word medical, and
120
00:06:09.279 --> 00:06:12.800
it would have given the state and local municipalities the
121
00:06:12.800 --> 00:06:16.199
opportunity to ban smoking in public and they didn't do it.
122
00:06:16.600 --> 00:06:21.800
So literally, we would have the ability to smell marijuana
123
00:06:21.879 --> 00:06:24.439
everywhere and anywhere in our state and there is not
124
00:06:24.519 --> 00:06:26.040
a darancing that anybody can.
125
00:06:26.000 --> 00:06:29.959
Do about it. Because again, constitutional.
126
00:06:29.120 --> 00:06:34.879
Law, if you try to change amend, make a bill
127
00:06:35.240 --> 00:06:38.600
or make an ordinance or whatever, you will not be.
128
00:06:38.720 --> 00:06:40.920
Consistent with the language of the amendment.
129
00:06:41.639 --> 00:06:43.720
And when we talk about, you know, again the mega
130
00:06:43.759 --> 00:06:49.360
marijuana monopoly corporation industry, they did this on purpose, right,
131
00:06:49.399 --> 00:06:51.800
They left specific things out.
132
00:06:51.879 --> 00:06:54.399
And when we talk about why this is a mega
133
00:06:54.439 --> 00:06:55.920
marijuana monopoly, I think you've.
134
00:06:55.759 --> 00:06:59.759
Already alluded to how much money has been dumped into this, right,
135
00:07:00.319 --> 00:07:04.800
And the big issue is, right, it's it's stunning, it's
136
00:07:04.839 --> 00:07:09.839
it's it's stunning. But they've put so much money into this,
137
00:07:10.000 --> 00:07:14.040
and they effectively ban home grow, which is something.
138
00:07:13.759 --> 00:07:16.199
Else I want to ask you about that time.
139
00:07:16.360 --> 00:07:20.519
Yeah, well they're they're again working with this monopoly.
140
00:07:20.600 --> 00:07:22.040
They're they're driving.
141
00:07:21.680 --> 00:07:24.920
Consumer base, right, and you don't spend that much money
142
00:07:25.319 --> 00:07:30.639
because you're interested in creating a backyard competitor, right, you
143
00:07:30.759 --> 00:07:34.439
are creating consumers. And so they purposely left out the
144
00:07:34.480 --> 00:07:38.040
word cultivate as it relates to individuals.
145
00:07:38.480 --> 00:07:41.480
So some have already come up and you know when
146
00:07:41.519 --> 00:07:42.160
we're having.
147
00:07:41.959 --> 00:07:44.120
These conversations like oh, but it'll be great because I'll
148
00:07:44.160 --> 00:07:45.959
be able to grow, and I'm like, listen, this is
149
00:07:46.000 --> 00:07:46.639
not about.
150
00:07:46.439 --> 00:07:47.480
Your personal freedom.
151
00:07:48.199 --> 00:07:53.199
This is about corporate greed from this particular industry. And again,
152
00:07:53.680 --> 00:07:55.160
you know, we go back to they just need to
153
00:07:55.160 --> 00:07:59.720
destroy one word for smoking in public. They just needed
154
00:07:59.720 --> 00:08:04.439
to add one word cultivate when referencing individuals. But they
155
00:08:04.480 --> 00:08:07.600
didn't because this it would hurt their bottom line. And
156
00:08:07.639 --> 00:08:11.519
they are the only ones that have come out publicly
157
00:08:12.160 --> 00:08:16.040
and actually bragged about how much money this industry will
158
00:08:16.040 --> 00:08:19.040
bring in for them in our state. And it's it's stunning,
159
00:08:19.120 --> 00:08:21.600
it's shocking, it's sad, and we don't want or need
160
00:08:21.600 --> 00:08:22.560
this here in our state.
161
00:08:23.160 --> 00:08:25.600
Well, I saw that in your media clips. It said
162
00:08:25.720 --> 00:08:28.839
six that the CEO of truly was like saying that
163
00:08:28.879 --> 00:08:30.879
this was going to be a six billion dollar market.
164
00:08:31.519 --> 00:08:35.960
And so seventy five million dollars to this woman CEO
165
00:08:36.120 --> 00:08:38.840
is nothing. It's so twenty bucks to if you're going
166
00:08:38.879 --> 00:08:40.039
to bring in that kind of money.
167
00:08:43.120 --> 00:08:47.480
And again she's she mentioned six billion dollar industry. I mean,
168
00:08:48.559 --> 00:08:51.279
that's wild, right, it's wild to some of us even
169
00:08:51.360 --> 00:08:53.840
trying to wrap our heads, right, it's it's wild to
170
00:08:53.879 --> 00:08:55.639
try to wrap her head around that number.
171
00:08:55.840 --> 00:08:56.080
Right.
172
00:08:56.639 --> 00:08:58.320
And you know, on top.
173
00:08:58.080 --> 00:09:02.679
Of that, this would actually make us the largest legal
174
00:09:02.840 --> 00:09:05.720
cannabis market in the nation, and not just the nation,
175
00:09:05.759 --> 00:09:08.480
in the world. We don't so when we you know,
176
00:09:08.480 --> 00:09:11.080
when we hear about the horrors that are happening in
177
00:09:11.399 --> 00:09:15.200
you know, Colorado, California, Washington, et cetera, et cetera, and
178
00:09:15.240 --> 00:09:17.679
we think about, wow, there's so much marijuana being sold
179
00:09:17.679 --> 00:09:19.879
out there. That is a drop in the bucket as
180
00:09:19.919 --> 00:09:21.759
to what the industry has already come.
181
00:09:21.679 --> 00:09:24.919
Out to say. We will look like we will leave.
182
00:09:24.759 --> 00:09:28.320
The nation and then internationally we will leave the world
183
00:09:28.720 --> 00:09:31.200
in legal cannabis market.
184
00:09:32.080 --> 00:09:35.840
Well, so, I say, doctor Spenser, one of the things
185
00:09:35.879 --> 00:09:37.519
I wanted to ask you about you know, we're just
186
00:09:37.559 --> 00:09:40.879
talking about the smoke and the smelling stuff is you know,
187
00:09:40.919 --> 00:09:43.720
with cigarettes, is always thinking about secondhand smoke, you know,
188
00:09:43.840 --> 00:09:46.440
and affecting kids and that kind of stuff in the home.
189
00:09:47.240 --> 00:09:49.559
Do you see the same kind of effects with marijuana?
190
00:09:49.600 --> 00:09:53.879
I mean, does it have the same Is drug transferred
191
00:09:53.919 --> 00:09:54.960
through secondhand smoke?
192
00:09:55.960 --> 00:09:56.120
Oh?
193
00:09:56.159 --> 00:09:59.440
Absolutely? I mean, and listen, it's just as basic as
194
00:09:59.440 --> 00:10:03.159
saying we're not supposed to inhale anything other than oxygen, right,
195
00:10:03.240 --> 00:10:05.480
So if it'd stands to reason that you're not supposed
196
00:10:05.519 --> 00:10:10.759
to inhale a combusted plant, a combusted material, So there's
197
00:10:10.799 --> 00:10:14.159
of course secondhand effect to that, and we don't want
198
00:10:14.200 --> 00:10:16.399
to smell it. And you know, we have the Clean
199
00:10:16.480 --> 00:10:19.159
Indoor Air Act here in Florida for a reason because
200
00:10:19.159 --> 00:10:21.000
we didn't want to inhale tobacco smoke.
201
00:10:21.039 --> 00:10:22.639
We didn't want to be subject to it.
202
00:10:22.639 --> 00:10:24.600
If you want to go smoke your cigarette, that's fine,
203
00:10:24.639 --> 00:10:25.919
I understand.
204
00:10:25.639 --> 00:10:28.320
It's an addiction. You got to have it, go smoke
205
00:10:28.360 --> 00:10:29.960
it somewhere else, right, And so we.
206
00:10:29.960 --> 00:10:33.159
Have the Clean Indoor Air Act that doesn't apply to
207
00:10:33.240 --> 00:10:35.720
marijuana smoke, so we will not be able to fall
208
00:10:35.840 --> 00:10:38.600
under that as a protection for those of us that
209
00:10:38.679 --> 00:10:41.120
don't want to inhale it or don't want our children
210
00:10:41.200 --> 00:10:44.279
to be subject to inhaling it or breathing in that
211
00:10:44.480 --> 00:10:49.840
toxic essentially carcinogen and again the smoke, all of it.
212
00:10:49.960 --> 00:10:51.360
We don't want this in our state.
213
00:10:51.399 --> 00:10:54.080
It doesn't belong in our neighborhoods, that doesn't belong in
214
00:10:54.159 --> 00:10:58.240
our communities, and it certainly doesn't belong in our state constitution.
215
00:10:59.519 --> 00:11:03.960
So I was very impressed that the CEO of Citadel
216
00:11:04.039 --> 00:11:06.480
that moved down here from Chicago because I guess it
217
00:11:06.519 --> 00:11:08.159
wasn't a great place, has.
218
00:11:08.039 --> 00:11:10.960
Donated twelve million dollars to fight this.
219
00:11:11.559 --> 00:11:15.519
So tell me about that relationship, because you know, it's
220
00:11:15.559 --> 00:11:18.320
not like Chicago's. Chicago has lots of issues, and I'm
221
00:11:18.360 --> 00:11:22.080
sure Pot's for the problem, so you know he doesn't
222
00:11:22.080 --> 00:11:24.720
want that in Florida. I was so impressed because I
223
00:11:24.759 --> 00:11:26.879
it's the first time I read this. Was getting ready
224
00:11:26.879 --> 00:11:27.480
for you to come on.
225
00:11:28.960 --> 00:11:29.279
Yeah.
226
00:11:29.360 --> 00:11:34.919
I mean, I'm obviously super grateful. It's great, it's helpful
227
00:11:35.000 --> 00:11:37.799
for us. We needed it, and I'm super appreciative. I'm
228
00:11:37.799 --> 00:11:40.519
thankful for everybody that's donated to the campaign.
229
00:11:41.600 --> 00:11:43.759
I don't know why he did, except for that.
230
00:11:43.799 --> 00:11:46.440
He cares about Florida and he doesn't want Florida to
231
00:11:46.440 --> 00:11:48.720
look like these other states. And I would encourage, just
232
00:11:48.759 --> 00:11:51.279
like you did, I would encourage your listeners to read
233
00:11:51.320 --> 00:11:53.480
his op ed and get a real understanding why he
234
00:11:53.559 --> 00:11:56.840
cares about the state. And again, you know, the only
235
00:11:56.879 --> 00:12:00.000
people that have really bragged about how much money they're made,
236
00:12:00.000 --> 00:12:04.639
making or spending on this initiative is the Megan marijuana corporations.
237
00:12:05.240 --> 00:12:06.720
Yeah, it's it's embarrassing.
238
00:12:07.039 --> 00:12:12.799
So let's talk about like, for example, Senator Joe Gruder's
239
00:12:12.919 --> 00:12:17.519
I was so disappointed that he came out now and
240
00:12:17.519 --> 00:12:21.480
and his four Amendment three. And I've had a you know,
241
00:12:21.720 --> 00:12:26.480
Chairman Evan Power on the representative doctor Joel Rudman that
242
00:12:26.600 --> 00:12:29.360
just came on our representative was just on last week
243
00:12:29.519 --> 00:12:33.200
and they are against it. So so why do you
244
00:12:33.240 --> 00:12:36.720
think he partnered with you know the other side.
245
00:12:36.919 --> 00:12:39.519
I'm just shocked because.
246
00:12:39.279 --> 00:12:39.840
Pot to me.
247
00:12:40.039 --> 00:12:43.799
And you're you're a doctor and you.
248
00:12:43.759 --> 00:12:46.320
See these not a fancy doctor.
249
00:12:46.480 --> 00:12:49.480
I'm not a fans doctor, but I definitely I have
250
00:12:49.559 --> 00:12:50.159
a doctorate.
251
00:12:50.320 --> 00:12:52.720
Yes, it worked very hard for that well.
252
00:12:52.600 --> 00:12:55.759
And I mean, you deal with these people that obviously
253
00:12:55.759 --> 00:12:59.639
have smoked pot, so.
254
00:12:58.279 --> 00:12:59.279
So yeah, is it?
255
00:12:59.360 --> 00:12:59.840
Yeah?
256
00:13:00.080 --> 00:13:01.559
I mean to me, it's a gateway drug. Is it
257
00:13:01.559 --> 00:13:03.919
not a gateweight drug? I ask people like you that
258
00:13:04.039 --> 00:13:04.720
all the time.
259
00:13:05.639 --> 00:13:08.279
Yeah, And I think this is where we get into that.
260
00:13:08.320 --> 00:13:10.159
There's a little bit of an argument about that, right.
261
00:13:10.200 --> 00:13:12.480
And you have individuals that will say, well, I've been
262
00:13:12.519 --> 00:13:15.320
smoking pop for decades and I haven't used anything else,
263
00:13:15.360 --> 00:13:18.240
and that I always say, good for you, that's awesome,
264
00:13:18.759 --> 00:13:21.279
I'm glad for you, and that's wonderful. But for the
265
00:13:21.320 --> 00:13:24.759
individuals that we see in treatment, that's not the case.
266
00:13:25.399 --> 00:13:28.679
They couldn't stop at marijuana. They kept using other substances.
267
00:13:28.720 --> 00:13:32.120
They either started with marijuana, tobacco, alcohol, or.
268
00:13:32.000 --> 00:13:33.480
Sneaking prescription drugs.
269
00:13:33.840 --> 00:13:39.480
So great, that's wonderful, but that's not the story of everybody, right,
270
00:13:39.639 --> 00:13:41.440
So we have to pay attention and we have to
271
00:13:41.519 --> 00:13:44.679
be cognitant of these other individuals that are suffering from
272
00:13:44.720 --> 00:13:48.679
addiction and didn't just start out with hard drugs. They
273
00:13:48.720 --> 00:13:52.960
started out with those other drugs. And as far as
274
00:13:53.039 --> 00:13:56.279
you know, our elected officials and Senator Gruters and you know,
275
00:13:56.320 --> 00:13:59.759
he's a smart man. So I am I'm surprised, I'm dismayed,
276
00:14:00.080 --> 00:14:00.879
I'm confused.
277
00:14:00.919 --> 00:14:04.440
Well, that's because he's been going races, he's been going place.
278
00:14:04.600 --> 00:14:08.000
I don't you know the latter apport us. So I'm
279
00:14:08.039 --> 00:14:08.840
just blown away.
280
00:14:09.919 --> 00:14:12.519
Yeah no, and I don't get it, but I don't
281
00:14:13.000 --> 00:14:16.200
try to get it either, right, because politicians on both
282
00:14:16.200 --> 00:14:19.120
sides of this issue are going to have opinions, and
283
00:14:19.320 --> 00:14:21.240
the bottom line is people are going to make their
284
00:14:21.279 --> 00:14:23.240
own decision on this. And this is why I encourage
285
00:14:23.279 --> 00:14:25.559
all of your listeners and everyone to read the amendment
286
00:14:25.559 --> 00:14:28.960
and understand the impact that this will have and not
287
00:14:29.120 --> 00:14:31.799
necessarily look to elected leaders, which I don't think they
288
00:14:31.840 --> 00:14:34.799
do for what decisions they are going to make on
289
00:14:34.840 --> 00:14:38.200
a constitutional amendment issue. So I don't know why he
290
00:14:38.279 --> 00:14:40.080
did it. I don't know why he's doing it. I
291
00:14:40.120 --> 00:14:42.559
don't know why President Trump is doing it. And I'm
292
00:14:42.600 --> 00:14:45.000
really not that concerned about it, because again, if we
293
00:14:45.039 --> 00:14:47.240
even want to look at President Trump or Joe Ruder's,
294
00:14:47.879 --> 00:14:49.720
you know, if we're trying to say, well, oh it's
295
00:14:49.720 --> 00:14:52.919
it's the Republican Party, we can actually go and look
296
00:14:52.919 --> 00:14:56.200
at Matt Gates, who is pro marijuana. He's a millennial,
297
00:14:56.480 --> 00:14:58.679
he is propot, and he is actually.
298
00:14:58.440 --> 00:14:59.360
Against this amendment.
299
00:14:59.480 --> 00:15:02.639
So that says more about the amendment than it does.
300
00:15:02.679 --> 00:15:04.440
Who's for or against it?
301
00:15:04.720 --> 00:15:07.440
Well, I had a guest on a political pundit here
302
00:15:07.440 --> 00:15:10.080
in Florida and he's and he's friends with Joe, and
303
00:15:10.559 --> 00:15:13.879
he said, Joe's been open about it. Senator Gruters that
304
00:15:14.039 --> 00:15:18.679
it's to keep the pot safe for people that you
305
00:15:18.679 --> 00:15:20.919
know take it, so there's nothing else in it. But
306
00:15:21.399 --> 00:15:24.840
I'm anti this is a nicky Freed agenda item. Why
307
00:15:24.879 --> 00:15:27.639
would I ever support this to trash our state?
308
00:15:28.159 --> 00:15:29.879
And you know the other the other issue is the
309
00:15:29.919 --> 00:15:32.799
potency thing that and that's what really bothers me. You know,
310
00:15:32.840 --> 00:15:37.559
this is I'm sure you could probably agree or probably
311
00:15:37.559 --> 00:15:39.000
know far more than I do about it. But you know,
312
00:15:39.039 --> 00:15:42.360
your homegrown pot or the pot from you know, I'm
313
00:15:42.399 --> 00:15:44.440
sixty nine years old, okay, the pot from when I
314
00:15:44.480 --> 00:15:48.480
was a teenager is nothing compared to what it is today.
315
00:15:48.480 --> 00:15:52.000
And this stuff, the super super thc stuff that you
316
00:15:52.039 --> 00:15:55.120
can that you can get in these dispensaries. There is
317
00:15:55.159 --> 00:15:58.399
there any desire to control that or or is that
318
00:15:58.440 --> 00:15:59.480
even being discussed?
319
00:16:00.360 --> 00:16:02.960
Well, I mean the desire to control is to vote
320
00:16:03.039 --> 00:16:06.360
no on Amendment three, right, And then you know it's
321
00:16:06.360 --> 00:16:08.240
funny that you mentioned that because just a couple of
322
00:16:08.360 --> 00:16:11.759
days ago, the ES campaign, you know posted how well
323
00:16:12.480 --> 00:16:14.679
you know, during I think it was Nixon.
324
00:16:14.720 --> 00:16:15.399
They may have put it out.
325
00:16:15.399 --> 00:16:17.360
I can't remember, but I believe it was the Nixon era.
326
00:16:17.559 --> 00:16:19.399
You know that even Nixon said that, oh, there was
327
00:16:19.440 --> 00:16:20.399
nothing wrong with marijuana.
328
00:16:20.399 --> 00:16:21.639
I can't remember what the exact thing is.
329
00:16:21.679 --> 00:16:24.240
You can find it on X And it's funny that
330
00:16:24.639 --> 00:16:26.600
they're going all the way back to, you know, the
331
00:16:27.039 --> 00:16:30.000
sixties and seventies to talk about how, oh, it wasn't
332
00:16:30.000 --> 00:16:31.799
a big deal back then, or even like you're saying,
333
00:16:31.799 --> 00:16:36.120
the potency of it, because in the nineteen sixties and seventies,
334
00:16:36.159 --> 00:16:39.399
we were looking at point seventy five to three percent
335
00:16:39.559 --> 00:16:44.960
THHD content in your raw herbal marijuana, right and now.
336
00:16:45.399 --> 00:16:48.080
Prime example, if you go to some of these websites
337
00:16:48.120 --> 00:16:51.879
and you look at what the strains are now, and
338
00:16:52.000 --> 00:16:55.120
the strains of the marijuana, they're boasting upwards of thirty
339
00:16:55.120 --> 00:16:59.919
five percent THCHC. So to your point, you're absolutely correct,
340
00:17:00.240 --> 00:17:03.799
that's an issue if we recognize that people were getting
341
00:17:03.840 --> 00:17:07.640
stoned and high at woodstock in the sixties and seventies,
342
00:17:07.680 --> 00:17:12.359
seventies and again during the era that they're referencing however
343
00:17:12.400 --> 00:17:13.400
many decades ago.
344
00:17:13.440 --> 00:17:15.880
That is with fifty I don't mass very well. I
345
00:17:15.880 --> 00:17:20.640
think it's at least five decades ago. Right, it's nowhere
346
00:17:20.759 --> 00:17:23.319
near the potency. In fact, it's what.
347
00:17:23.480 --> 00:17:28.559
You're selling again, Mega marijuana corporations, industry, et cetera. Are
348
00:17:29.039 --> 00:17:32.000
upwards of thirty percent TC. And that's just for the
349
00:17:32.079 --> 00:17:33.119
raw herbal material.
350
00:17:33.160 --> 00:17:34.000
We're not even.
351
00:17:33.880 --> 00:17:37.200
Talking about the oils and the vapes and the shatter
352
00:17:37.559 --> 00:17:41.160
that they're selling. That's seventy eighty ninety five percent THC.
353
00:17:43.480 --> 00:17:47.039
Is there any way for the legislator to control that?
354
00:17:48.000 --> 00:17:49.880
I mean even they're saying passes, I mean, is that
355
00:17:50.079 --> 00:17:52.039
is that just? Or is the sky the limit? Whatever
356
00:17:52.079 --> 00:17:55.160
they want to shove out the door the limit?
357
00:17:55.519 --> 00:17:59.039
Because again, I mean, there's nothing in here in this language,
358
00:17:59.039 --> 00:18:01.680
and the amendment says that they can regulate or even
359
00:18:01.680 --> 00:18:04.759
put the cap on the potency. Right, So again you're
360
00:18:04.759 --> 00:18:07.440
going to be inconsistent with the language of the men
361
00:18:07.480 --> 00:18:10.519
because they don't even mention potency. Now they do mention.
362
00:18:10.720 --> 00:18:13.680
So you'll find this interesting because you'll understand they do
363
00:18:13.799 --> 00:18:18.359
allow three ounces for individuals to possess, which is the
364
00:18:18.480 --> 00:18:20.079
nation's highest limit.
365
00:18:20.839 --> 00:18:21.680
Three ounces.
366
00:18:21.799 --> 00:18:24.599
You could roll one hundred to one hundred and fifty
367
00:18:24.680 --> 00:18:27.240
joints or pack a cone as the kids call it.
368
00:18:27.279 --> 00:18:29.160
Now, that's a lot of weed.
369
00:18:29.400 --> 00:18:32.079
Oh my gosh, these are things I don't know. Oh
370
00:18:32.119 --> 00:18:39.079
my goodness, that's scandalous. Well, on the postcard that my still.
371
00:18:38.880 --> 00:18:41.519
Have steam coming out of my ears with President Trump
372
00:18:41.559 --> 00:18:45.160
on it, it's a quote from September eighth, and he
373
00:18:45.599 --> 00:18:48.279
says in the quote, I believe it's time to end
374
00:18:48.400 --> 00:18:52.440
needless arrests and incarcerations of adults for small amounts of
375
00:18:52.440 --> 00:18:57.119
marijuana for personal use. We must implement smart regulations while
376
00:18:57.119 --> 00:19:01.359
providing access for adults to safe tested product. As a filoridian,
377
00:19:01.400 --> 00:19:02.359
I'll be voting yes.
378
00:19:02.400 --> 00:19:02.920
And this is.
379
00:19:02.880 --> 00:19:06.680
Blown up and highlighted on Amendment three this November, and
380
00:19:06.759 --> 00:19:09.960
I'm fine with you know, And that was that was
381
00:19:10.000 --> 00:19:14.839
another fallacy too, that the prisons are full of, you know, potheads,
382
00:19:14.880 --> 00:19:18.680
And I get and I saw on your website. I
383
00:19:18.680 --> 00:19:20.759
think you guys, you know, you put that to bed
384
00:19:20.759 --> 00:19:24.079
that that's not true because they're they Yeah, they smoked pot,
385
00:19:24.119 --> 00:19:25.559
but they also like robbed a bank.
386
00:19:25.640 --> 00:19:28.160
That's why they're in jail, you.
387
00:19:28.160 --> 00:19:31.279
Know, right, exactly, Yeah, And that's what it does. It
388
00:19:31.440 --> 00:19:33.960
fascinates me. I was just in a debate the other.
389
00:19:33.920 --> 00:19:37.240
Day and the same issue came up, and I'm fascinated
390
00:19:37.240 --> 00:19:39.319
by it. But to exactly your point, this has already
391
00:19:39.319 --> 00:19:41.640
been debunked. Why are you still using this as a
392
00:19:41.680 --> 00:19:46.240
talking point. It's not true, it's not true. You're entitled
393
00:19:46.279 --> 00:19:48.440
to your own opinion, you are not entitled to your
394
00:19:48.440 --> 00:19:52.119
own facts. And the fact is there are zero individuals
395
00:19:52.160 --> 00:19:56.279
that are in prison incarcerated for simple marijuana possession. It's
396
00:19:56.440 --> 00:19:59.559
just not true. We have debunked it, and yet it's
397
00:19:59.559 --> 00:20:02.480
still a talking point of theirs that I am fascinated by,
398
00:20:02.920 --> 00:20:07.839
because again, there's thirty seven people that are in prison
399
00:20:08.079 --> 00:20:09.160
for simple possession.
400
00:20:09.200 --> 00:20:11.000
But what you need to understand.
401
00:20:10.519 --> 00:20:12.559
About that is that is coupled with, like you said,
402
00:20:12.880 --> 00:20:16.839
other higher level offenses. There is no one in our
403
00:20:16.960 --> 00:20:20.279
jails and prisons for simple marijuana possession charges.
404
00:20:20.319 --> 00:20:24.200
And it's actually offensive that they believe that we as.
405
00:20:24.160 --> 00:20:27.680
Fluritians, are going to continue to pay attention to this
406
00:20:27.799 --> 00:20:30.640
false narrative and vote yes because we're not. We're gonna
407
00:20:30.720 --> 00:20:33.480
vote no because it's a flat out lie. It's not true.
408
00:20:33.519 --> 00:20:37.799
It's been debunked, and I'm pro you.
409
00:20:37.759 --> 00:20:40.759
Know, if somebody does have it, let's find the hell
410
00:20:40.799 --> 00:20:41.279
out of them.
411
00:20:41.720 --> 00:20:46.079
You know, is that your initiative? I mean, what is vote?
412
00:20:46.359 --> 00:20:46.599
Yeah?
413
00:20:46.880 --> 00:20:47.640
Are you doing?
414
00:20:49.160 --> 00:20:52.400
None of us want kids or young adults to be
415
00:20:52.680 --> 00:20:56.319
in jail for simple marijuana possession or holding a joint.
416
00:20:56.799 --> 00:20:57.440
None of us do.
417
00:20:57.599 --> 00:21:00.319
Like, that's preposterous to think that anybody in this state.
418
00:21:00.200 --> 00:21:03.920
Of Florida would support that. What I would be interested
419
00:21:03.960 --> 00:21:04.400
in is.
420
00:21:04.359 --> 00:21:08.720
The conversations around civil citation programs, the conversations around drug courts, which,
421
00:21:08.880 --> 00:21:12.079
by the way, if an adolescent is caught with a
422
00:21:12.160 --> 00:21:15.599
joint or more than that, typically there are drug courts
423
00:21:15.599 --> 00:21:18.000
and juvenile drug courts in place for them, and there's
424
00:21:18.039 --> 00:21:22.960
there's opportunities for treatment services and interventions that the other
425
00:21:23.039 --> 00:21:26.079
side just isn't even talking about. So again, yeah, we
426
00:21:26.160 --> 00:21:28.680
don't want people in jail for that, but.
427
00:21:28.720 --> 00:21:29.640
The fact is they're not.
428
00:21:30.640 --> 00:21:33.759
They're not, and to say that they are is a
429
00:21:33.759 --> 00:21:38.759
flat out lie. It's insulting to Floridians who are quite intelligent,
430
00:21:39.160 --> 00:21:42.160
and then it's insulting to our our first responders and
431
00:21:42.200 --> 00:21:44.960
our law enforcement and our public defenders and our state
432
00:21:45.000 --> 00:21:47.640
attorneys because it's just simply not happening.
433
00:21:49.200 --> 00:21:51.759
I've heard I've heard John Morgan say that, you know that,
434
00:21:52.640 --> 00:21:56.599
you know, we need to approve Amendment three and then
435
00:21:56.720 --> 00:21:58.319
and then after it to proved, we need to go
436
00:21:58.400 --> 00:22:00.880
and let all all the people in in jail that
437
00:22:01.279 --> 00:22:03.759
we're in there convicted for marijuana possession out.
438
00:22:04.480 --> 00:22:05.920
So you know, that's kind of do you have a
439
00:22:05.920 --> 00:22:09.559
little toonko trunk or a matchbox car, because that is
440
00:22:09.599 --> 00:22:11.160
how many zero would fit into.
441
00:22:11.319 --> 00:22:14.519
I mean, it's just it's not true. It's not true.
442
00:22:14.559 --> 00:22:17.559
And if that's all that you continue to have, that
443
00:22:17.680 --> 00:22:21.759
is your talking point. That says again more about your
444
00:22:21.799 --> 00:22:24.839
amendment than it does about the actual.
445
00:22:24.559 --> 00:22:27.519
Real issues, because it's it's it's just not true. It's
446
00:22:27.720 --> 00:22:29.480
I don't know how many times I can see this.
447
00:22:29.759 --> 00:22:33.200
I'm always jumping up and down. You know, true, it's
448
00:22:33.240 --> 00:22:34.039
been debunked.
449
00:22:34.759 --> 00:22:36.839
The problem, the problem that you're having and I and
450
00:22:36.880 --> 00:22:40.720
I understand is very well having been in politics for
451
00:22:40.799 --> 00:22:44.640
quite a while. Here you're trying to fight an emotional
452
00:22:44.720 --> 00:22:48.200
response that's, oh, we have all these people in jail.
453
00:22:48.279 --> 00:22:52.759
You know that's a terrible thing, you know, versus the facts. Well,
454
00:22:52.759 --> 00:22:55.839
the facts are there's nobody in jail, Okay. The facts
455
00:22:55.960 --> 00:22:59.920
is this this stuff is dangerous and the facts never
456
00:23:00.160 --> 00:23:03.000
trump the emotion. That's the problem that we're having.
457
00:23:03.039 --> 00:23:05.839
Because I was the whole DNC it was all emotion.
458
00:23:07.079 --> 00:23:08.759
Well, when we talked about to it, we didn't.
459
00:23:09.039 --> 00:23:12.759
We're not in dispute of our belief system that individuals
460
00:23:12.839 --> 00:23:15.279
shouldn't be in jail for that about We're not refuting
461
00:23:15.319 --> 00:23:17.119
that we're on the same page. But then don't turn
462
00:23:17.160 --> 00:23:20.039
around a lie to Floridians and say that there are
463
00:23:20.240 --> 00:23:22.359
all these people in jail in prisons for a simple
464
00:23:22.359 --> 00:23:23.759
marijuana possession.
465
00:23:25.079 --> 00:23:26.960
Doing this right, you know, emotion.
466
00:23:27.400 --> 00:23:30.160
And the reason I found you all was because I
467
00:23:30.279 --> 00:23:33.920
follow Christina. I can never say her last name push pushoi.
468
00:23:34.960 --> 00:23:36.240
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
469
00:23:36.279 --> 00:23:39.079
She's like one of your number one cheerleaders for remember
470
00:23:39.119 --> 00:23:40.000
three and four.
471
00:23:40.079 --> 00:23:42.440
So I need to I need to get to her
472
00:23:42.480 --> 00:23:44.519
because she's amazing. I want to have her on, but
473
00:23:44.559 --> 00:23:47.680
she literally like today, she's she's always like, she's already
474
00:23:47.720 --> 00:23:53.920
posted stuff two things, three things on your from your page.
475
00:23:54.279 --> 00:23:57.480
So I love that she's fighting the fight and obviously
476
00:23:57.519 --> 00:24:02.839
the governor's on board with this. Yeah, I mean, how
477
00:24:02.880 --> 00:24:03.799
are why are you?
478
00:24:03.960 --> 00:24:04.160
First?
479
00:24:04.200 --> 00:24:06.359
I want to ask you, why are you so passionate
480
00:24:06.839 --> 00:24:08.839
about this? Because I see that you were the face
481
00:24:09.400 --> 00:24:13.640
of this when it was vote no on two for
482
00:24:13.759 --> 00:24:17.160
two campaigns to defeat this before. So why why are
483
00:24:17.200 --> 00:24:20.400
you so passionate? I mean, I'm a retired military officer.
484
00:24:20.480 --> 00:24:22.799
John was in the military. We have you ever done
485
00:24:22.839 --> 00:24:26.119
a drug ever? My drug is a college girl drink
486
00:24:26.599 --> 00:24:29.839
on a weekend, you know, And I don't understand why
487
00:24:29.880 --> 00:24:33.160
somebody would want this, and especially now when it doesn't
488
00:24:33.200 --> 00:24:35.480
seem like it's the levels of like what John was
489
00:24:35.519 --> 00:24:37.960
talking about about the good old days, which you know,
490
00:24:38.559 --> 00:24:41.079
I've never done a single drug ever, and I don't
491
00:24:41.079 --> 00:24:43.160
know why somebody would want this in their body. But
492
00:24:43.920 --> 00:24:46.680
why are you so passionate doctor Spencer about this?
493
00:24:47.160 --> 00:24:47.480
Well?
494
00:24:48.039 --> 00:24:50.319
Thank you both for your service too. I'm I come
495
00:24:50.359 --> 00:24:54.119
from a military family and I appreciate your service, and
496
00:24:54.200 --> 00:24:56.839
I appreciate all of our first responders in our military.
497
00:24:56.960 --> 00:24:57.599
So thank you.
498
00:24:58.160 --> 00:25:00.200
And I mean, for me, it comes down to this
499
00:25:00.279 --> 00:25:03.680
is my area of expertise, right, I mean, I have
500
00:25:03.799 --> 00:25:06.960
worked in the substances prevention field, working you know, specifically
501
00:25:06.960 --> 00:25:10.319
with adolescents, for about twenty four years, and I see
502
00:25:10.359 --> 00:25:14.079
the devastation that this drug can eventually cause, whether it.
503
00:25:14.039 --> 00:25:16.839
Be as simple as and it's not simple, but it.
504
00:25:16.799 --> 00:25:19.759
Is smaller on the scale of full blown addiction to
505
00:25:20.119 --> 00:25:24.480
you know, more dangerous drugs I shouldn't say more dangerous drugs,
506
00:25:24.480 --> 00:25:25.839
but drugs in general.
507
00:25:25.559 --> 00:25:28.440
And moving on to other drugs.
508
00:25:28.960 --> 00:25:31.880
You know, even if a kids skip schooled because they're higher,
509
00:25:31.920 --> 00:25:34.640
because they were high the night before and they couldn't
510
00:25:34.640 --> 00:25:37.039
wake up the next day, et cetera. I worry about kids.
511
00:25:37.119 --> 00:25:41.640
I worry about the exposure that recreational marijuana. Again, when
512
00:25:41.640 --> 00:25:44.880
this industry says they're going to triple the market, that
513
00:25:45.079 --> 00:25:49.720
means increased exposure to our children, and I'm concerned about
514
00:25:49.759 --> 00:25:55.920
that because they are our next generation, our next bright hope. Right,
515
00:25:56.039 --> 00:26:00.200
we should be raising them with clear brains, not flood
516
00:26:00.319 --> 00:26:04.519
with messages that marijuana is just wonderful and it's not
517
00:26:04.640 --> 00:26:08.559
a problem, and it doesn't do any cognitive damage, physical damage, there's.
518
00:26:08.440 --> 00:26:10.599
Nothing wrong with it. We're sending the.
519
00:26:10.559 --> 00:26:13.440
Wrong message to our children. And not only are we
520
00:26:13.480 --> 00:26:15.519
sending the wrong message to our children, but as we
521
00:26:15.599 --> 00:26:18.200
see in other states, there are accidental.
522
00:26:17.640 --> 00:26:20.039
Exposures, there's over exposure.
523
00:26:20.319 --> 00:26:23.200
We have you know, children and young adults and even
524
00:26:23.240 --> 00:26:26.079
older adults ending up in our emergency rooms because the
525
00:26:26.079 --> 00:26:30.720
potency of these products is through the roof, and a
526
00:26:30.839 --> 00:26:33.160
child is not going to be able to tell between
527
00:26:33.200 --> 00:26:36.799
your gummy bear that you have that is loaded with
528
00:26:36.920 --> 00:26:40.200
THCHC that you're only supposed to eat maybe half of, right,
529
00:26:40.519 --> 00:26:43.000
and a bag of gummy bears that they eat.
530
00:26:42.839 --> 00:26:43.640
With their friends.
531
00:26:43.880 --> 00:26:45.440
And they're going to keep eating them and eating them
532
00:26:45.480 --> 00:26:47.720
and eating them, and they're going to over in jeff
533
00:26:47.839 --> 00:26:49.559
and they are going to be in the hospitals. And
534
00:26:49.559 --> 00:26:52.440
that's what we're concerned about. And we're concerned about how
535
00:26:52.480 --> 00:26:55.920
this changes how parents parents. You know, they're going to
536
00:26:55.960 --> 00:26:58.000
have to think about things differently as they do in
537
00:26:58.079 --> 00:27:00.599
other states that have recreational marijuana. You know, do you
538
00:27:00.680 --> 00:27:03.720
send your child over to Johnny's house whose parents may
539
00:27:03.839 --> 00:27:05.799
use their who maybe has a twenty one year old
540
00:27:05.799 --> 00:27:07.759
brother that still lives at home or a sister that
541
00:27:07.839 --> 00:27:10.640
still lives at home and uses marijuana and you don't
542
00:27:10.640 --> 00:27:11.200
want your.
543
00:27:11.119 --> 00:27:12.160
Child exposed to it.
544
00:27:12.160 --> 00:27:15.359
It changes the whole dynamic of our state. It doesn't
545
00:27:15.400 --> 00:27:18.880
belong here, it doesn't belong in our state constitution. And
546
00:27:18.920 --> 00:27:21.319
we all have to vote know in November and send
547
00:27:21.319 --> 00:27:26.279
a very clear message to this insidious mega marijuana industry.
548
00:27:26.319 --> 00:27:28.839
We don't want you here and don't come back.
549
00:27:29.799 --> 00:27:33.119
So how much do we know about about these these
550
00:27:33.160 --> 00:27:36.039
potent versions? I mean, have there been very many studies
551
00:27:36.079 --> 00:27:38.359
done on this stuff? I mean, you know, we've seen
552
00:27:38.359 --> 00:27:41.039
the thing with the school shooter. There's been there's been linking.
553
00:27:41.160 --> 00:27:43.119
You know, these school shooters, most of them are on
554
00:27:43.240 --> 00:27:46.000
marijuana or have a history of being on marijuana, and
555
00:27:46.400 --> 00:27:51.880
they have the psychosis induced from that. And so is
556
00:27:51.920 --> 00:27:54.240
there is there been any correlations that is to say,
557
00:27:54.519 --> 00:27:57.640
you know, twenty percent thc you get this, thirty percent,
558
00:27:57.720 --> 00:27:58.599
you get this level.
559
00:27:59.799 --> 00:28:03.480
No, soh not that I've seen specifically with the actual
560
00:28:03.519 --> 00:28:05.640
like between a twenty percent and a thirty percent, you
561
00:28:05.680 --> 00:28:08.359
see something different. I will say that the studies are
562
00:28:08.359 --> 00:28:11.680
out there about just high potency marijuana in and of itself.
563
00:28:12.200 --> 00:28:13.200
And I think this.
564
00:28:13.319 --> 00:28:16.599
Is what's super hard for people to kind of grasp
565
00:28:16.640 --> 00:28:20.279
and understand. And I think it's because it's so outrageous
566
00:28:20.319 --> 00:28:22.839
and not outrageous and oh I can't believe that, but
567
00:28:22.880 --> 00:28:26.000
it's outrageous inough. Oh goodness, we need to do something
568
00:28:26.039 --> 00:28:28.759
about this epidemic, because this is an epidemic. And you're
569
00:28:28.799 --> 00:28:32.359
absolutely right, there is cannabis induced psychosis. There's lots of
570
00:28:32.440 --> 00:28:36.880
mental health issues that we see that happens among you know,
571
00:28:37.160 --> 00:28:41.400
young people and then into young adulthood, and there's major
572
00:28:41.440 --> 00:28:45.720
concerns about that. I don't get too far into the weeds,
573
00:28:45.880 --> 00:28:49.160
for lack of a better word, about that issue, because
574
00:28:49.200 --> 00:28:53.279
it's it's really hard for people to conceptualize, right if
575
00:28:53.319 --> 00:28:57.200
you don't experience it yourself. And kind of to your
576
00:28:57.279 --> 00:28:59.920
point too, John, a lot of people just don't understand
577
00:29:00.039 --> 00:29:02.519
the potency, right and they're like, Oh, it's just hot,
578
00:29:02.559 --> 00:29:04.759
like I smoked in high school, No big deal. They
579
00:29:04.799 --> 00:29:07.440
don't understand it, and it's really hard for people to
580
00:29:07.480 --> 00:29:11.920
conceptualize what's actually happening with a lot of individuals that
581
00:29:12.039 --> 00:29:17.559
are consistently smoking this high potent, consistently ingesting this high
582
00:29:17.599 --> 00:29:22.680
potent candies, oils, et cetera, and what can potentially happen.
583
00:29:22.799 --> 00:29:25.359
So again, you know.
584
00:29:25.359 --> 00:29:29.519
I choose to focus on the issues about the Constitutional
585
00:29:29.559 --> 00:29:33.559
amendment language itself and not get too far down the
586
00:29:33.599 --> 00:29:36.160
line on all of these other issues. But I promise
587
00:29:36.240 --> 00:29:39.720
you you are dead on and these are major concerns
588
00:29:39.759 --> 00:29:43.279
that your listeners should be paying attention to. But at
589
00:29:43.319 --> 00:29:46.240
the very least I would love for them to read
590
00:29:46.279 --> 00:29:49.160
the amendment and understand the language that's in it and
591
00:29:49.279 --> 00:29:52.000
why we do not want this in our state. It
592
00:29:52.039 --> 00:29:55.279
doesn't belong in our constitution and we need to vote
593
00:29:55.359 --> 00:29:56.400
no in November.
594
00:29:57.200 --> 00:30:00.559
So on second and third order effect here, you know,
595
00:30:00.680 --> 00:30:04.519
is is that I know you're kind of discounting that,
596
00:30:04.599 --> 00:30:08.599
but being in the first order fact being don't pass
597
00:30:09.079 --> 00:30:15.240
the constitutional amendment. But why is that not discussed? What
598
00:30:16.240 --> 00:30:19.079
is it that we talked about recreational stuff, freedom and
599
00:30:19.079 --> 00:30:20.880
all this kind of stuff, but we don't talk about
600
00:30:20.880 --> 00:30:22.960
the second third or effects of this stuff.
601
00:30:24.079 --> 00:30:27.519
I think it's difficult for people to conceptualize. Like I said,
602
00:30:27.599 --> 00:30:30.839
I think it's it's hard for people to understand and
603
00:30:30.880 --> 00:30:33.119
appreciate it. And listen, see how it took me how
604
00:30:33.119 --> 00:30:36.519
many minutes to explain about the THHD content, and then
605
00:30:36.559 --> 00:30:39.559
I haven't even gone into where THHD lives in your.
606
00:30:39.440 --> 00:30:42.759
Body and why that's an issue. Right, So it's not.
607
00:30:42.759 --> 00:30:45.799
An elevator speech that takes thirty seconds to explain to someone.
608
00:30:46.119 --> 00:30:48.680
And it's not for lack of people being smart enough
609
00:30:48.680 --> 00:30:51.240
to get it. We absolutely are, but it's not a
610
00:30:51.599 --> 00:30:54.960
quick enough explanation that they're like, oh okay, and then
611
00:30:55.000 --> 00:30:57.519
you really have to think about it. So it's a
612
00:30:57.599 --> 00:31:02.119
tougher conversation. I love the conversation. I love the education
613
00:31:02.200 --> 00:31:04.200
of it all because I think it really is important,
614
00:31:04.200 --> 00:31:07.240
as you're saying, for people to understand what the secondary
615
00:31:07.240 --> 00:31:12.960
and tertiary effects are of marijuana youth, and not only consistently,
616
00:31:13.480 --> 00:31:15.759
but even just in the short term, when we're talking
617
00:31:15.759 --> 00:31:17.799
about young people's brains.
618
00:31:18.359 --> 00:31:21.160
Well, and I think, like I've seen it on next
619
00:31:21.160 --> 00:31:24.200
I've read articles about it, like for example, Colorado it's
620
00:31:24.279 --> 00:31:28.839
you know, legal, and so all of these people moved
621
00:31:28.880 --> 00:31:31.039
to Colorado because they want to smoke pot every day,
622
00:31:31.039 --> 00:31:33.079
and it's been a madness. I don't want to work,
623
00:31:33.799 --> 00:31:36.640
you know, because it kind of takes away your drive.
624
00:31:36.720 --> 00:31:40.000
I think, I mean, this is your world. What has
625
00:31:40.079 --> 00:31:40.799
the pushback?
626
00:31:40.839 --> 00:31:40.960
Ben?
627
00:31:41.000 --> 00:31:43.880
Because you know, I see on your your Actually somebody
628
00:31:43.880 --> 00:31:47.039
went and debated Leon County and it was spirited over there.
629
00:31:48.400 --> 00:31:51.319
Now and now we're talking, yeah, did you have your
630
00:31:51.400 --> 00:31:55.279
your your you know, vote no pot leaf with a
631
00:31:55.440 --> 00:31:59.279
ghostbuster you know, little thing on it. Yeah, and Flack
632
00:31:59.400 --> 00:32:02.880
vest know. But my question is what has the pushback?
633
00:32:02.920 --> 00:32:03.079
Ben?
634
00:32:03.119 --> 00:32:08.480
Because you're talking money now, and many people people do
635
00:32:08.599 --> 00:32:11.039
awful things when they're trying to get power and money,
636
00:32:11.079 --> 00:32:14.799
and seventy five million dollars even though you know against six,
637
00:32:14.880 --> 00:32:17.359
say six billion dollars is nothing, that's still a lot
638
00:32:17.440 --> 00:32:17.880
of money.
639
00:32:18.279 --> 00:32:20.640
So are are you getting one company?
640
00:32:21.200 --> 00:32:24.640
I mean, because I mean they want, they want to
641
00:32:24.640 --> 00:32:28.319
get in here, and you know, twelve million versus seventy
642
00:32:28.359 --> 00:32:31.680
five is still a substantial more money they have.
643
00:32:33.799 --> 00:32:38.359
True, and again you're absolutely right, it's there insidious. This
644
00:32:38.359 --> 00:32:43.200
this the mega marijuana corporations and their desire to be
645
00:32:43.240 --> 00:32:47.920
in our state overrides you know what. They they claim
646
00:32:47.960 --> 00:32:50.640
to be safe, and it's just not. I mean, it's
647
00:32:50.640 --> 00:32:53.559
a fallacy. It's an absolute fallacy to say that this
648
00:32:53.599 --> 00:32:57.240
will be safe and regulated. Because again, any other state
649
00:32:57.559 --> 00:33:00.759
that has legalized recreational marijuana, they.
650
00:33:00.640 --> 00:33:02.359
See the black market explode.
651
00:33:02.559 --> 00:33:05.000
And why is that. It's because when you put it
652
00:33:05.039 --> 00:33:07.799
in the storefront, it costs more money. And where would
653
00:33:07.799 --> 00:33:10.880
I rather go and get it the less expensive place?
654
00:33:12.759 --> 00:33:13.319
That's true.
655
00:33:13.680 --> 00:33:16.799
Well, I'm just scandalized at all the medical dispensaries that
656
00:33:16.839 --> 00:33:17.920
have popped up in our town.
657
00:33:18.000 --> 00:33:25.079
I mean, interest the medical thing was so right, it's
658
00:33:25.119 --> 00:33:26.480
not a big deal. There's not a whole.
659
00:33:26.359 --> 00:33:31.200
Telve years ago there was one. Because now they're.
660
00:33:30.440 --> 00:33:37.559
Everywhere, they will automatically right, and they will automatically be
661
00:33:37.720 --> 00:33:39.960
able to sell recreational.
662
00:33:40.200 --> 00:33:42.279
Oh so they're so they're gearing up.
663
00:33:42.400 --> 00:33:45.319
Well that's scaring me thinking about it now, because literally,
664
00:33:45.319 --> 00:33:47.559
I'm not kidding, in the last six months there are
665
00:33:47.559 --> 00:33:51.319
so many new ones around here. So so how are
666
00:33:51.359 --> 00:33:54.400
you getting your message out? Because luckily I bumped into
667
00:33:54.400 --> 00:33:56.519
you all and X and and I started stalking you
668
00:33:56.599 --> 00:34:01.680
to come on, because I you know, maybe it's because
669
00:34:01.720 --> 00:34:04.839
I am that military woman, and drugs are bad and
670
00:34:04.880 --> 00:34:07.920
I want our children to not be on drugs, you know,
671
00:34:08.800 --> 00:34:10.960
and I and plus I've been to all these damn
672
00:34:11.000 --> 00:34:13.440
states where you smell it all the time and it's horrific,
673
00:34:13.519 --> 00:34:15.159
right right.
674
00:34:15.320 --> 00:34:18.960
Right, yeah, I mean the industry themselves, they've come out
675
00:34:18.960 --> 00:34:21.880
and said that they they will have a pot shop
676
00:34:21.920 --> 00:34:25.639
on every corner. They liken it to Walmart and CBS,
677
00:34:25.719 --> 00:34:29.000
and they will be everywhere. So they've already told us
678
00:34:29.119 --> 00:34:33.719
what to anticipate and what we will be basically inundated with.
679
00:34:34.440 --> 00:34:37.239
And you know, we fight back with facts, We fight
680
00:34:37.320 --> 00:34:40.280
back with truth, and we do the best we can.
681
00:34:40.400 --> 00:34:42.920
And we will go anywhere and talk to anybody. So
682
00:34:43.079 --> 00:34:47.239
I appreciate you stalking up. You can find us on Facebook, Instagram,
683
00:34:47.679 --> 00:34:51.440
and our website and of course on X so yeah,
684
00:34:51.559 --> 00:34:55.639
and feel free to again check out our website see
685
00:34:55.679 --> 00:34:57.119
what points are like it.
686
00:34:57.480 --> 00:35:00.719
I liked all the media you know story, I mean,
687
00:35:00.719 --> 00:35:02.280
because they were eye opening.
688
00:35:02.360 --> 00:35:05.519
I didn't know about the Citadel guy, you know, and
689
00:35:05.920 --> 00:35:06.679
and then and then.
690
00:35:06.599 --> 00:35:09.800
The CEO of truly if was so nonchalant about the
691
00:35:09.800 --> 00:35:10.280
whole thing.
692
00:35:10.400 --> 00:35:13.719
I'm like, oh my gosh, maybe it's time to start
693
00:35:13.880 --> 00:35:18.920
start playing reefer madness again. You know, I don't know
694
00:35:18.960 --> 00:35:19.800
if you remember that.
695
00:35:20.159 --> 00:35:21.320
I don't know what that is.
696
00:35:22.760 --> 00:35:23.960
Than it was.
697
00:35:24.119 --> 00:35:26.679
It was, you know, a cult.
698
00:35:27.920 --> 00:35:31.480
Oh goodness, gracious. I mean again, we.
699
00:35:31.519 --> 00:35:33.320
Have to pay attention, you know when you do talk
700
00:35:33.360 --> 00:35:36.440
about the money. The only organization on any side of
701
00:35:36.480 --> 00:35:39.800
this argument who has gone on record and talk about
702
00:35:39.840 --> 00:35:43.840
how this amendment passing would be great for the bottom line,
703
00:35:44.119 --> 00:35:46.760
and again they've been braggadocious about it and said it
704
00:35:46.760 --> 00:35:51.159
would be historic is the mega marijuana companies period, And
705
00:35:51.239 --> 00:35:55.039
so they're not. Again, it's about money. It's not about
706
00:35:55.079 --> 00:35:58.119
personal freedom, it's not about safety.
707
00:35:58.280 --> 00:35:59.639
This is about how much.
708
00:35:59.559 --> 00:36:02.760
Money is going to be made in this industry's six
709
00:36:02.960 --> 00:36:06.199
billion dollar industry that will triple the marijuana market.
710
00:36:06.360 --> 00:36:07.159
Let me ask you.
711
00:36:07.039 --> 00:36:10.119
One more question, because we had the New York Times
712
00:36:10.159 --> 00:36:14.760
bestselling author of the Soros Agenda on and soorrow. Seorge
713
00:36:14.760 --> 00:36:18.480
Soros has been the daddy of pushing pot. He wants
714
00:36:18.480 --> 00:36:21.800
it everywhere, and I think it's the numbing of society.
715
00:36:21.880 --> 00:36:22.199
Are you?
716
00:36:22.320 --> 00:36:24.920
Are you seeing his money here as well when it
717
00:36:24.960 --> 00:36:27.239
comes to wanting to make this legal.
718
00:36:28.360 --> 00:36:29.679
You know that I don't know.
719
00:36:30.000 --> 00:36:33.639
I don't mask very well, so I try to leave
720
00:36:33.760 --> 00:36:36.239
all of the finances and everything to you know, all
721
00:36:36.280 --> 00:36:37.719
of the others in the campaign. They're a heck of
722
00:36:37.760 --> 00:36:39.679
a lot smarter than I am, and I focus on
723
00:36:39.719 --> 00:36:41.280
the issues of the amendment.
724
00:36:41.360 --> 00:36:45.719
Okay, and then I back to Governor DeSantis. I know
725
00:36:45.800 --> 00:36:47.519
he's standing right there with you.
726
00:36:48.840 --> 00:36:52.840
Yes, so well, what have we missed?
727
00:36:53.000 --> 00:36:57.480
We appreciate it, doctor, I mean, I think they've talked
728
00:36:57.480 --> 00:36:59.880
about it all, but there's there's still more to talk about.
729
00:37:00.079 --> 00:37:02.559
But we I guess we're I'll have to come back on.
730
00:37:03.039 --> 00:37:06.039
Yes, we'd love to have you on you know, of
731
00:37:06.119 --> 00:37:10.079
October and see you know how it's going. And then
732
00:37:10.400 --> 00:37:13.960
you know, I hope you're getting booked on everybody shows
733
00:37:14.079 --> 00:37:17.119
around the state because we need this out there.
734
00:37:18.960 --> 00:37:22.639
I I am open to all possibilities, and I'm excited.
735
00:37:23.320 --> 00:37:26.320
I am excited about the efforts that we have.
736
00:37:26.519 --> 00:37:30.679
And you know, I'm confident because once people hear and.
737
00:37:30.719 --> 00:37:32.519
Read the truth of.
738
00:37:32.440 --> 00:37:34.719
What's in that amendment and what's not in that amendment,
739
00:37:35.199 --> 00:37:37.360
they are a no vote and they will vote no
740
00:37:37.440 --> 00:37:38.000
in November.
741
00:37:38.079 --> 00:37:39.119
So I am confident that.
742
00:37:39.079 --> 00:37:41.280
We will take care of this and this is not
743
00:37:42.000 --> 00:37:43.280
this is not going to be in our state.
744
00:37:43.880 --> 00:37:46.079
Well, I'm going to burn this postcard that I got
745
00:37:46.159 --> 00:37:48.559
right before you came out, literally right before.
746
00:37:48.280 --> 00:37:49.840
You came on and.
747
00:37:52.079 --> 00:37:56.440
Right and we've been talking with doctor Jessica Spencer. She
748
00:37:56.719 --> 00:38:00.440
is the advocacy director and perfect women for the job.
749
00:38:00.960 --> 00:38:04.280
Vote no on Amendment three, and this really matters for
750
00:38:04.320 --> 00:38:07.440
the great state of Florida. So God bless you, doctor,
751
00:38:07.559 --> 00:38:09.719
and we'll have you back again on Veronicalive.
752
00:38:09.840 --> 00:38:11.599
Thank you so much for Veronica and John
