The Kelsie Schelling case is one of Colorado’s most disturbing true crime cases. In February 2013, 21-year-old Kelsie Schelling disappeared after driving from Denver to Pueblo, Colorado, to meet her boyfriend, Donthe Lucas, while pregnant with his child. Years later, Lauren Suhr became involved in the investigation after contacting Lucas on Facebook and secretly building a romantic relationship with him in an effort to learn what he knew about Kelsie’s disappearance. Suhr ultimately provided investigators with important information about Lucas and Kelsie’s abandoned car, which was captured on surveillance footage. The investigation eventually led to Lucas being charged with murder, and in March 2021, he was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole. This video explores the disappearance of Kelsie Schelling, the evidence against Donthe Lucas, Lauren Suhr’s undercover relationship with the man suspected of killing Kelsie, the surveillance footage and car evidence, and the unanswered question of where Kelsie’s remains are today.
