Transformative conversation with Rhonda Britton on overcoming fear, embracing forgiveness, and discovering divine purpose through life's adversities

WEBVTT
00:00:00.461 --> 00:00:17.754
This is Nicole Ellis McGregor, the founder of the Overcomers Approach podcast, where I meet with different people from different walks of life, different experiences, different journeys, but the overarching theme is that we have the ability to overcome and move fully in our purpose, fearlessly, boldly, with purpose and what we're divinely called to do.
00:00:17.754 --> 00:00:20.989
And so I'm so happy to have Rhonda Britton here today.
00:00:20.989 --> 00:00:29.460
She's an Emmy Award winner, she's been a guest on the Oprah show and Master Coach.
00:00:29.460 --> 00:00:37.865
She's authored several books and, no matter what the industry focus, every human being gets stopped by fear.
00:00:37.865 --> 00:00:47.488
She's coached eight figure businesses owners to corporate execs, looking for purpose, where folks want to find themselves even more meaningful relationships.
00:00:48.109 --> 00:00:55.930
Fear is fear for all of us, no matter if we're making eight figures, six figures, five figures, four it doesn't discriminate.
00:00:55.930 --> 00:01:05.349
But we all have a purpose and destiny, no matter what our journey is, what our occupation is, and we want to move into what we really call the do with boldness.
00:01:05.349 --> 00:01:18.271
So, rhonda, I am so happy to have you here today on my podcast and I just want to know what led you up to today being this author, life coach, being on these shows.
00:01:18.271 --> 00:01:19.593
How did you get here?
00:01:19.593 --> 00:01:21.944
How did you find your purpose?
00:01:22.444 --> 00:01:26.433
Well, that's a long answer, but you know I will say this.
00:01:26.433 --> 00:01:28.103
You know I went kicking and screaming.
00:01:28.484 --> 00:01:29.006
Okay, and.
00:01:29.046 --> 00:01:32.061
I and I think that people, I think too many people.
00:01:32.061 --> 00:01:34.391
You know I've been working with people for 30 years.
00:01:34.391 --> 00:01:49.486
I started changing lives in 1995 and and you know, I think people think that when they get their purpose, it's going to be this moment of like law and I'm going to just shine and I'm just going to start and.
00:01:49.486 --> 00:01:53.706
I'm going to call everybody tomorrow and make a million dollars within three months.
00:01:53.786 --> 00:02:04.248
Right, like people think that right, right, and really, most of us, when we get our purpose, most of us, when we, when we're really aligned and know what we're meant to do, it scares the bejeebers out of us.
00:02:04.248 --> 00:02:07.197
Yes, and you know, right, and we're really aligned and know what we're meant to do, it scares the bejeebers out of us.
00:02:07.197 --> 00:02:10.588
Yes, and you know, right, and we're like who am I to do that?
00:02:10.588 --> 00:02:19.105
Like right, because I do believe that the divine calls us to do things that we do not have all the skills and tools for and we do not have the confidence for right.
00:02:19.126 --> 00:02:19.527
Right.
00:02:19.527 --> 00:02:24.804
So if we're waiting for the confidence, that's going to be a long time coming, right.
00:02:24.804 --> 00:02:37.236
So if you know, if you've gotten the you know the tap on your shoulder, the whisper in your ear, you know the little nudge and you're freaking out, probably pretty spot on what you're supposed to be doing.
00:02:37.236 --> 00:02:39.526
I just know, right Am I?
00:02:39.586 --> 00:02:42.042
not right about that, nicole, yeah, yeah.
00:02:42.042 --> 00:02:43.544
So how did I get here?
00:02:43.544 --> 00:02:44.247
Was your question.
00:02:44.247 --> 00:02:45.569
That, nicole, right, yeah, yeah.
00:02:45.569 --> 00:02:47.615
So how did I get here?
00:02:47.615 --> 00:02:48.135
Was your question.
00:02:48.135 --> 00:02:49.298
And I'm going to tell you.
00:02:49.298 --> 00:03:00.842
Um, I'm going to tell you about the worst day of my life, because what I have really realized is the worst day of your life, or one of the worst days of your life, actually has the seed to your destiny in it, right, right.
00:03:00.842 --> 00:03:22.156
So we look at the worst days of our lives and go I wish I could have changed that, I wish I could change my right, but that that a moment, that that year, that month, that whatever is, actually got the seed of your destiny and that thing, you know, even though we don't want it to happen, right, what I'm about to tell you, I didn't want to happen, I would, I would give my life for it not to to happen.
00:03:22.695 --> 00:03:25.818
But, now that it happened right now that it happened.
00:03:25.818 --> 00:03:28.004
What am I going to do with it?
00:03:28.004 --> 00:03:31.683
Right, that's either going to take me down or take me up, and for a long time it took me down.
00:03:31.683 --> 00:03:32.026
So let me.
00:03:32.026 --> 00:03:32.848
Let me get to the story.
00:03:32.848 --> 00:03:35.926
So I'll tell you about the worst day of my life.
00:03:35.926 --> 00:03:42.002
So I was 14 years old and I grew up in a little tiny, tiny town in upper Michigan.
00:03:42.002 --> 00:03:45.866
365 inches of snow a year, nicole, like lots of snow.
00:03:46.448 --> 00:03:46.728
Yeah.
00:03:46.828 --> 00:03:48.930
And we had, we had, we had nothing going on.
00:03:48.930 --> 00:03:55.637
We had two restaurants, no fast food, okay, we had the Douglas house buffet hotel and big boy, that's it, okay.
00:03:55.637 --> 00:04:07.887
And my parents had recently separated and my father was coming over to take us to Father's Day brunch, okay, which I don't know how you grew up, nicole, but I grew up.
00:04:07.887 --> 00:04:09.632
Three kids, two adults, five people.
00:04:09.632 --> 00:04:13.967
We don't go out because that's a lot of money, right, yes, right, it was a lot of money.
00:04:13.967 --> 00:04:15.069
That's five people, okay.
00:04:15.210 --> 00:04:17.314
That's five people, five people.
00:04:17.314 --> 00:04:33.069
So my father was coming to take us out it was a big deal because you know going out to eat and my mother made me a brand new dress, white cotton, and she made me a scarf to go along with it white cotton with black polka dots, and I wrapped it around my neck like Barbra Streisand for younger people, beyonce or Taylor Swift.
00:04:33.069 --> 00:04:36.850
And so I'm in my mother's room.
00:04:36.850 --> 00:04:40.302
She's putting on a blue eyeshadow, she's puffing up her Behab hairdo.
00:04:40.983 --> 00:04:42.004
My dad comes in the back.
00:04:42.004 --> 00:04:43.887
On, come on, come on, because that's what dads do.
00:04:43.887 --> 00:04:45.790
My two sisters are fighting it out.
00:04:45.790 --> 00:04:59.166
In our one little bathroom we had about an 850 square foot house and, um, as my dad and my mom and I uh start walking out, my sister's still in the bathroom fighting it out yes it starts sprinkling and my dad goes.
00:04:59.166 --> 00:05:02.177
I got to get my coat from the car yeah now this coat.
00:05:02.177 --> 00:05:04.305
Nicole was a tan naga hide leisure suit coat.
00:05:04.305 --> 00:05:09.459
Now in the day that was really hot.
00:05:09.519 --> 00:05:10.521
So my dad looked you know what I'm saying.
00:05:10.521 --> 00:05:10.841
They look good.
00:05:10.841 --> 00:05:27.932
So my dad gets his key, he goes to his truck, me and my mom are starting to walk out the door and I noticed at the corner of my eye that my father did not grab his coat, but he grabbed a gun and he starts yelling at my mother you made me do this, you made me do this and he fires.
00:05:28.673 --> 00:05:28.814
Now.
00:05:28.973 --> 00:05:30.774
I'm yelling, dad, what are you doing, dad?
00:05:30.774 --> 00:05:31.194
What are you doing?
00:05:31.194 --> 00:05:32.555
Stop, stop, dad, what are you doing?
00:05:32.555 --> 00:05:35.841
And he talks the gun a second time, points it at me.
00:05:35.841 --> 00:05:38.908
I blink, he blinks, I blink, he blinks.
00:05:38.908 --> 00:05:50.925
You know he breathes, I breathe, and my mother, with her last breath, sees what is happening, the gun in my face, and yells out no, don't?
00:05:50.925 --> 00:05:58.987
My father, realizing in that moment my mother is still alive, takes that gun intended for me and shoots my mother a second time.
00:05:59.841 --> 00:06:03.490
And that second bullet goes through my mother's abdomen, out her back.
00:06:03.490 --> 00:06:09.055
It lands in the car horn and for the next 20 minutes all I hear is eh.
00:06:09.055 --> 00:06:14.052
And then my father cocks the gun for a third time, puts the barrel to his head and fires.
00:06:14.052 --> 00:06:21.153
So in a matter of two minutes, nicole, I was the sole witness of watching my father murder my mother and commit suicide in front of me.
00:06:21.153 --> 00:06:25.360
Now I don't know how most people would react, but this is what I did.
00:06:25.360 --> 00:06:28.108
I blamed myself, right, I blamed myself.
00:06:28.108 --> 00:06:30.115
I did nothing heroic, right.
00:06:30.115 --> 00:06:38.723
I didn't jump in front of the gun, I didn't protect my mother, I didn't kick my father in the shins, I didn't wrestle him to the ground, right, I just stood frozen.
00:06:38.723 --> 00:06:40.245
You know, that's all I did.
00:06:40.245 --> 00:06:48.343
And I blamed myself because my mother should not be dead and I'm the only one that could have physically done anything about it.
00:06:48.343 --> 00:06:53.533
So for the next 20 years, I lived two lives On the outside.
00:06:53.533 --> 00:06:58.954
I was fine, I was fine, I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine.
00:06:59.675 --> 00:07:00.879
I was still a straight A student.
00:07:00.879 --> 00:07:03.466
I got a ride to college, a scholarship to college.
00:07:03.466 --> 00:07:04.329
I'm fine.
00:07:05.071 --> 00:07:08.064
But on the inside not so fine, not so fine.
00:07:08.064 --> 00:07:10.490
And so I lived these double lives.
00:07:10.490 --> 00:07:20.223
On the outside, like I said, I pretended everything was fine, but on the inside I had a lot of self-hatred, a lot of low self-worth, a low self-esteem.
00:07:20.223 --> 00:07:22.327
I didn't think I had a right to anything.
00:07:22.327 --> 00:07:25.975
And you don't get to be happy after your father kills your mother, you don't do anything.
00:07:25.975 --> 00:07:32.572
And I knew that I was quote, unquote, not good enough, right, that there was something fundamentally wrong with me.
00:07:32.572 --> 00:07:33.634
I really believed that.
00:07:33.939 --> 00:07:41.312
I believed fundamentally I had a flaw, that was unavoidable and that would always trip me up the rest of my life.
00:07:41.312 --> 00:07:48.021
I believed that trip me up the rest of my life.
00:07:48.021 --> 00:07:48.423
I believe that.
00:07:48.423 --> 00:07:49.766
So for 20 years in this double life, I went to therapy.
00:07:49.766 --> 00:07:50.550
I, you know, went to shaman work.
00:07:50.550 --> 00:07:51.793
I did inner child work.
00:07:51.793 --> 00:07:53.137
I read books.
00:07:53.137 --> 00:07:54.841
I was a workshop junkie.
00:07:54.841 --> 00:08:00.071
I did everything to try to heal myself from this event.
00:08:00.071 --> 00:08:02.742
I tried to heal myself from how I felt about myself.
00:08:03.382 --> 00:08:03.682
Right.
00:08:03.963 --> 00:08:12.194
But at the same time I was drinking became an alcoholic, got three DUIs and tried to kill myself three times.
00:08:12.194 --> 00:08:15.608
Wow, and it was that third suicide attempt.
00:08:15.608 --> 00:08:20.430
Nicole, by the way, when you try to kill yourself three times, I do put you in a psychiatric ward for evaluation.
00:08:20.430 --> 00:08:22.107
So I'm in the psychiatric ward Right.
00:08:22.107 --> 00:08:26.060
And they not crazy, let me go Okay.
00:08:26.201 --> 00:08:46.908
I'm in my little apartment and um I realized, nicole, that I am not good at killing myself, not skilled at it, and regardless of all the work I've done on myself, all the therapy, all the shaman work, all the inner child work, all the workshops, all the books Again, I read my first self-help book when I was 12.
00:08:46.908 --> 00:08:51.522
I still fundamentally felt that there was something wrong with me.
00:08:51.522 --> 00:08:55.009
Now I gained tools and skills, like I had more knowledge.
00:08:55.331 --> 00:08:56.131
And.
00:08:56.173 --> 00:08:58.345
I think this is the crux for many people.
00:08:58.345 --> 00:09:01.422
They're doing a lot of work on themselves and they have a lot of knowledge.
00:09:01.422 --> 00:09:07.885
And I had a lot of knowledge, but fundamentally, in the dark of the night, my opinion of myself didn't change.
00:09:07.885 --> 00:09:08.125
And how?
00:09:08.147 --> 00:09:13.386
I felt about myself in the dark of the night, right when my back's against the wall.
00:09:13.386 --> 00:09:24.325
I still felt there was something fundamentally flawed with me, and so I said to myself that day, when they let me out of psychiatric ward and I'm leaning against the wall in my apartment, I slid down.
00:09:24.325 --> 00:09:25.307
I remember it so vividly.
00:09:25.307 --> 00:09:32.429
I was standing against it and I, kind of like, slid down the wall you know, on my back, kind of in exasperation and defeated.
00:09:32.429 --> 00:09:33.451
You know feeling defeated.
00:09:34.039 --> 00:09:34.380
Yeah, and.
00:09:34.441 --> 00:09:43.090
I really remember thinking to myself I got to go back to kindergarten, I got to start over, and what do kindergartners do?
00:09:43.090 --> 00:09:46.759
Right Well well, kindergartners put stars on a calendar.
00:09:46.759 --> 00:10:00.292
So I went to the store, got a calendar and gold stars and every day for the next 30 days yes I gave myself credit for anything I did.
00:10:00.292 --> 00:10:03.000
Well, anything positive, anything, any movement forward.
00:10:03.000 --> 00:10:12.171
And I'm talking I'm not talking about evolution being involved here, I'm talking about drinking and not getting drunk right I'm talking about angry and not breaking anything that's the level I was at right.
00:10:12.211 --> 00:10:12.653
You know what I mean.
00:10:12.653 --> 00:10:24.091
Like I wasn't like, oh, I prayed, no, no, I you know I was trying to stay alive yes, and at the end of 30 days with those little like get angry, don't, break anything changes.
00:10:24.091 --> 00:10:25.938
At the end of 30 days with those little like get angry, don't break anything changes.
00:10:25.958 --> 00:10:32.072
At the end of 30 days, I had a star, a calendar filled with gold stars, and I realized that I had hope.
00:10:32.072 --> 00:10:46.679
I had hope and I was worth saving, and so that began the journey that ended up with me being here, on your show as a life coach.
00:10:46.679 --> 00:10:57.721
Now I didn't go from that awakening that aware it took me many years, but began, it began.
00:10:57.782 --> 00:11:02.961
I said I guess the second right second layer because the first layer had already been doing all that work.
00:11:02.961 --> 00:11:08.393
But the second layer was the first layer had already been doing all that work, but the second layer was the willingness to be wrong about everything.
00:11:08.732 --> 00:11:09.053
Yeah.
00:11:09.259 --> 00:11:15.629
The willingness to realize that you know what, Rhonda, you are worth saving.
00:11:16.191 --> 00:11:16.611
Yes.
00:11:17.173 --> 00:11:30.465
But you know what there's, this thing called fear, because, nicole, I grew up in Upper Michigan, remember, and I'm Finnish, okay, from Finland, and so if you know anything about Finnish people, we don't feel right.
00:11:30.465 --> 00:11:32.393
We don't feel at all yes.
00:11:32.393 --> 00:11:37.317
So I never said my entire life that I was scared or afraid.
00:11:37.317 --> 00:11:47.836
So, the fact that I work with fear is such a it's so hysterical, right, like me, afraid, scared, a fear what?
00:11:49.832 --> 00:11:55.389
And I literally, nicole, never said I'm scared or afraid ever in my entire life, even after my parents died.
00:11:55.389 --> 00:12:00.211
I'm sure I was afraid, but I never admitted it, I never allowed myself to even think it.
00:12:00.211 --> 00:12:01.654
I'll be fine, remember, I'll be fine.
00:12:01.695 --> 00:12:02.135
I'll be fine.
00:12:02.155 --> 00:12:17.696
I'll be fine so when I had this moment of realization with my gold stars and calendar, that is when fear, the conversation and the topic of fear started coming into play and.
00:12:17.696 --> 00:12:32.993
I had to face the fact that fear was playing a bigger part of my life than I had ever seen, known, admitted, experienced, aware of, and that began.
00:12:32.993 --> 00:12:42.750
The deep work that got me where I am today, again years later, took me many years years to actually say like, oh, I now can support people.
00:12:42.769 --> 00:12:44.995
And, by the way, when I got that message, I ran, I ran.
00:12:44.995 --> 00:12:46.226
I'm like I can't help anybody.
00:12:46.226 --> 00:12:50.057
Don't you remember the three suicide attempts, three DUIs and the alcoholism?
00:12:50.057 --> 00:12:50.745
I got to do that.
00:12:50.745 --> 00:12:55.633
God tapped me on the show and said oh, by the way, you got to help people, You've got the wrong person.
00:12:55.633 --> 00:13:01.687
But I had made enough changes in my life and I had enough tools in my life.
00:13:01.687 --> 00:13:11.134
But I had, more importantly, the awakening that fear is a tool that we can use for our benefit and knew how to work with it in a different way.
00:13:11.134 --> 00:13:22.043
So I was able to eventually, eventually take the leap into taking the action to do what I do today eventually take the leap into taking the action to do what I do today.
00:13:27.164 --> 00:13:28.347
Well, first of all, wow, that's all I can say.
00:13:28.347 --> 00:13:31.673
Wow, you are here as just a testament of what you went through, and you're here empowering other people.
00:13:31.673 --> 00:13:38.033
I've met so many people in different walks of life, who didn't make the journey, who had similar backgrounds.
00:13:38.033 --> 00:13:48.054
My background is similar but yet different, and I had to fight to be here, you know as well, and fear dominated my life for many, many, many years.
00:13:48.054 --> 00:14:05.094
And so, and just to know that you had to go back to that child, like go back to kindergarten, is just, and have that sense of curiosity, and to reward yourself for the wins, no matter how big or small they were, um is just amazing.
00:14:05.094 --> 00:14:09.389
And then, um, I'm from minnesota, so it's oh I grew up.
00:14:09.489 --> 00:14:10.432
I was born in minnesota.
00:14:10.432 --> 00:14:15.386
Yeah, I was born in minnesota and I grew up in minnesota and michigan.
00:14:15.386 --> 00:14:19.336
Oh, my parents died in Michigan, but I was born in Minnesota.
00:14:19.485 --> 00:14:20.727
Oh my gosh where in Minnesota?
00:14:20.769 --> 00:14:21.490
Where in Minnesota?
00:14:21.851 --> 00:14:27.037
So I was born in St Paul Minnesota, so yeah, I was born in Two Harbors, Minnesota, north of Duluth.
00:14:27.037 --> 00:14:29.546
Okay and I know exactly where that's at.
00:14:29.546 --> 00:14:45.946
So when you talked about the snow and going out and the culture of like no emotions and not being able to speak, because you know you adapt to the culture you are in yeah, that's right they are, you know, express your emotions, or even to say that I'm scared.
00:14:46.086 --> 00:14:57.696
Oh yeah, um, I just totally, totally relate to that and it really resonated with me, um, but it got you to where you are here today, which is just amazing um, well, this is.
00:14:57.975 --> 00:15:04.557
This is the cool thing, nicole, that you and I have then and I think most people have it if they're willing to see it.
00:15:04.557 --> 00:15:21.919
But because you and I ran from it so much and you and I were so afraid, and we can see it now because of the trauma, drama, refusal to feel that we had for decades.
00:15:21.919 --> 00:15:29.533
You know, you and I can see it in others, right, because we used to be that person.
00:15:29.533 --> 00:15:31.613
We used to be that person right.
00:15:32.606 --> 00:15:34.212
And I know for me I have so much more.
00:15:34.212 --> 00:15:42.868
I have so much compassion for people who are on this journey, that are fighting within themselves to give themselves permission right Like they want to.
00:15:42.868 --> 00:16:00.135
They want to, they want to right, they want to do it they're worried about what their family thinks, or their husband thinks, or their parents think, or their partner thinks, or their or their society thinks, or the church thinks, or or who am I who will I be if I don't stay in this exactly the same way?
00:16:00.664 --> 00:16:08.831
And that was, and being from Minnesota, yes, no wonder I like you so much and to you know, to see the fear.
00:16:08.831 --> 00:16:11.937
You know, because I've been really and I'm sure you have too.
00:16:11.937 --> 00:16:28.426
I've been blessed to be in different rooms, in different spaces and places, different spaces and places, and it doesn't even matter how successful someone appears to be or you know it could.
00:16:28.426 --> 00:16:41.975
Different walks of life, and just being able to acknowledge that and have that intuitive knowledge, to see it and to feel that and to have empathy and compassion and to really want to empower people, which is what I feel like you're doing, so I just feel that's so amazing.
00:16:42.115 --> 00:16:55.009
How did you forgive the it might've felt unforgivable with your dad, and how did you even get through that piece, or what did that look like?
00:16:56.067 --> 00:17:19.729
That's such a great question and I actually taught a class yesterday just on forgiveness, because I think that we, I know, for me, I minimized forgiveness, you know, I, you know, when I was, when they died, at 14, I was planning on being a minister, so when they died, I told myself, oh yeah, I forgive my dad, I forgive my dad, right, and I think that's what many of us do.
00:17:19.729 --> 00:17:24.436
We, we, we placate, we want to believe that we forgave.
00:17:24.436 --> 00:17:25.337
I mean.
00:17:25.577 --> 00:17:33.789
I wanted to believe that I forgave him but, as over the course of my life, also how I behaved and how I reacted.
00:17:33.789 --> 00:17:36.659
The world proved I had not that's right.
00:17:36.659 --> 00:17:40.097
So I, god, gave me this great assignment that.
00:17:40.117 --> 00:17:42.007
I will give to you and I give to my clients.
00:17:42.007 --> 00:17:50.586
And what this exercise does is it basically changes the neural pathways in your brain.
00:17:50.586 --> 00:17:55.978
So so one of the things that where we get stuck is our neural pathways go right.
00:17:55.978 --> 00:18:04.196
They go one way to go here, and the way we need to create a new neural pathway or to shift the neural pathway is to live in the paradox, be able to live in both.
00:18:05.365 --> 00:18:06.828
And that is not easy to do.
00:18:06.828 --> 00:18:08.512
It's not easy to do.
00:18:08.512 --> 00:18:11.558
So I made, I made up a little exercise.
00:18:11.558 --> 00:18:18.888
God gave it to me and I did this when I still have the first time I did it in my Bible, wrote it down and put it in my Bible.
00:18:18.888 --> 00:18:20.515
So I still have the first time I ever did it.
00:18:21.125 --> 00:18:24.111
So, you're going to grab a piece of paper, everybody Grab and put a line down the middle.
00:18:24.111 --> 00:18:25.705
If you're in a safe place to do it, obviously.
00:18:25.705 --> 00:18:34.270
If you're driving, don't do it and you know, save this podcast in case you want to do it later.
00:18:34.270 --> 00:18:39.255
But you're going to put the name of the person or the organization or the system that you want to forgive.
00:18:39.255 --> 00:18:41.396
So I would put my dad's name.
00:18:41.396 --> 00:18:46.040
Okay, then on the right hand side, on the top, you're going to write I'm willing to forgive you.
00:18:46.060 --> 00:18:54.769
That's what you're going to write Now this is how the exercise goes.
00:18:54.788 --> 00:18:57.673
Left hand side you're going to write one sentence, and one sentence only, and not a big ass long sentence.
00:18:57.673 --> 00:18:59.156
Okay, don't be using those commas, like right.
00:18:59.156 --> 00:19:09.809
Instead just use one sentence, like I can't believe you did this, dad, or screw you dad, or I hate you for taking mom, or again, whatever the thing is right.
00:19:09.809 --> 00:19:18.886
So I probably started off with like I can't believe you did this to us, right, and then I go to the right side I write I'm willing to forgive you yeah well, that pisses me off.
00:19:18.856 --> 00:19:19.954
So now I'm like, yeah, no, I'm not, I'm not gonna forgive.
00:19:19.954 --> 00:19:20.127
Go to the right side.
00:19:20.127 --> 00:19:20.722
All right, I'm willing to forgive you.
00:19:20.722 --> 00:19:21.026
Yeah, well, that pisses me off.
00:19:21.026 --> 00:19:21.954
So now I'm like, yeah, no, I'm not, I'm not going to forgive you.
00:19:21.954 --> 00:19:26.416
Right, the right hand side, I'm willing to forgive you over my dead body.
00:19:26.416 --> 00:19:28.009
I'm willing to forgive you.
00:19:28.009 --> 00:19:29.373
You don't deserve it.
00:19:29.373 --> 00:19:30.556
You've done nothing good for me.
00:19:30.556 --> 00:19:31.385
You abandoned us.
00:19:31.385 --> 00:19:32.547
You gave us nothing.
00:19:32.547 --> 00:19:34.327
I'm willing to forgive you, right.
00:19:34.327 --> 00:19:53.732
So you're basically allowing your left hand, the left hand column, you're allowing yourself to vent, to spew, to have a safe place to think all those things that you think, that you're afraid to think, you're afraid to admit, because you don't want to be a bad person, you don't want to have these thoughts.
00:19:54.193 --> 00:19:58.772
You think them, you think them, so you're going to do them on the left-hand side and one by one.
00:19:58.772 --> 00:20:11.740
And on the right-hand side, you're going to say I'm willing to forgive you Now, if you want to throw up when you're writing down, I'm willing to forgive you you can write I'm willing to be willing to one day forgive you when hell freezes over.
00:20:11.740 --> 00:20:17.897
So all we're looking for is a willingness to forgive someday.
00:20:19.146 --> 00:20:33.489
You don't have to forgive today, don't forgive today, but I'm willing, to be willing to forgive you now what happens with this, nicole, is first of all, I want you to do it until you're emotionally exhausted so we're talking about five pages, eight pages, three pages.
00:20:33.489 --> 00:20:34.772
We're talking about longhand.
00:20:34.772 --> 00:20:41.454
Don't be doing this on the computer okay, you know we're doing longhand right and and you are going to get emotionally exhausted.
00:20:41.454 --> 00:20:45.327
What happens is your brain, because you're living in the paradox.
00:20:45.327 --> 00:20:47.333
You're living in how you feel.
00:20:47.333 --> 00:20:48.496
How dare you.
00:20:49.057 --> 00:20:49.377
Yes.
00:20:50.164 --> 00:21:00.472
You're training yourself that you can also have the desire to forgive, at the same time that you are having that overwhelming feeling.
00:21:00.472 --> 00:21:04.236
You are training your brain to live in and in both right.
00:21:04.236 --> 00:21:11.256
You're training your brain, and so what happens is, when you learn how to do that, when your brain is able to do that, you can.
00:21:11.395 --> 00:21:29.229
Also, you can go in the world now and be really upset at somebody, but not act out yes you can be really hurt by somebody and put a boundary up, because now you can live in both worlds and you've got to train your brain to do that.
00:21:29.229 --> 00:21:41.752
But if you want to evolve from a spiritual place, if you want to evolve as a human being, yeah living in the paradox, living in both worlds, is really critical, so that this exercise is actually gonna train your brain yes and and now you're gonna do it more than once.
00:21:41.813 --> 00:21:45.550
probably I don't know how many times I did it, but you're going to do it more than once.
00:21:45.550 --> 00:21:47.296
But again, do it till you're exhausted.
00:21:48.145 --> 00:21:49.431
You're exhausted is the key.
00:21:50.326 --> 00:21:53.335
Like, oh my God, I can't do one more thing.
00:21:53.335 --> 00:22:00.234
And you also are through with the bitterness, Like the first level of anger has shaved off.
00:22:00.234 --> 00:22:03.069
Yes, and now maybe you're talking about.
00:22:03.069 --> 00:22:04.935
I can't believe I had to be alone.
00:22:04.935 --> 00:22:06.570
You know, nobody helped me growing up.
00:22:06.570 --> 00:22:09.030
I'm willing to forgive you, right?
00:22:09.030 --> 00:22:12.269
You left us with no money and I had to work by the.
00:22:12.269 --> 00:22:14.756
You know, when I was 14, I had to pay for all my clothes, right?
00:22:15.036 --> 00:22:15.297
Yes.
00:22:15.765 --> 00:22:16.607
Right, my clothes right, yeah, right.
00:22:16.607 --> 00:22:27.238
So you're just allowing yourself to have a clear voice and permission to say what you need to say to this person, with the intention that you know your real.
00:22:27.238 --> 00:22:31.593
What you really want is to forgive yes, I love that.
00:22:31.692 --> 00:22:37.473
Retraining the brain, retraining the brain physically I think there's something to be said for physically motion.
00:22:37.473 --> 00:22:38.375
Writing it down.
00:22:38.876 --> 00:22:38.997
Yeah.
00:22:39.484 --> 00:22:43.655
Fear, exhausted repetition, I believe, rewire our brain.
00:22:43.655 --> 00:23:00.268
Yeah, living in both and worlds, like you said, and even if you're not willing, you know having the willingness and the hope to forgive them one day, because you said something earlier that I really resonated when you could say you forgave somebody.
00:23:00.268 --> 00:23:17.135
But it's going to come out in different ways, whether that's, you know, a speeding ticket, a DUI ticket or whatever that is, or, you know, consuming Inability to love inability to open your heart to somebody, inability to trust anyone.
00:23:17.497 --> 00:23:23.316
Yeah, when you don't forgive, you have a tendency not to trust people, or trust certain people.
00:23:23.316 --> 00:23:33.094
You have a tendency to close off your heart, you have a tendency to want to protect yourself, you have a tendency to run, because if you haven't forgiven, it's very difficult to trust.
00:23:33.094 --> 00:23:38.407
So that's how you know you need to forgive is the result.
00:23:38.407 --> 00:23:41.536
And, by the way, I'll tell you another quick story about forgiveness.
00:23:41.536 --> 00:23:43.625
Yes, speaking of those eight-figure people.
00:23:43.625 --> 00:23:49.116
So I was at a mastermind, a speaker at a mastermind, and this guy makes you know lots of money.
00:23:49.478 --> 00:23:49.738
Yeah.
00:23:50.278 --> 00:24:02.482
And he sat there going in the room and he said I am sick of making millions of dollars, losing it all, making millions of dollars and losing dollars, losing it all, making millions of dollars and losing it all, millions of dollars losing.
00:24:02.482 --> 00:24:03.103
I'm sick of that pattern.
00:24:03.103 --> 00:24:04.364
I said okay, yeah, and so what?
00:24:04.423 --> 00:24:17.265
I asked him a few questions and he confessed that his grandfather and father did the same thing wow, okay and I said, because now he wanted me to give him a business strategy, like okay, well, this is what you do right.
00:24:17.265 --> 00:24:17.808
Or he wanted to get.
00:24:17.808 --> 00:24:19.112
He wanted me to give him like business strategy, like okay, well, this is what you do right.
00:24:19.112 --> 00:24:22.690
Or he wanted to get, he wanted me to give him like a magic phrase, right or he wanted me to right.
00:24:22.690 --> 00:24:25.385
I said to him have you forgiven them?
00:24:25.385 --> 00:24:34.209
Yes and he's like what yeah have you forgiven your grandfather and your father to hand because they handed you down this legacy?
00:24:34.670 --> 00:24:37.678
they did and you, in order to stay connected to them.
00:24:37.678 --> 00:24:41.086
Need to repeat it in order to feel one with them.
00:24:41.086 --> 00:24:48.928
So have you forgiven them, and I mean he looked at me like I was from outer space, like he was like what?
00:24:49.388 --> 00:24:56.606
I said yeah, the problem you're having with money is a forgiveness issue, wow, and.
00:24:56.606 --> 00:25:00.213
And so most people want to think it's something else.
00:25:00.213 --> 00:25:00.875
Right, they want to.
00:25:00.875 --> 00:25:07.056
Oh, I need a new model, I need a new offer, I need to do whatever I need to bet.
00:25:07.056 --> 00:25:10.454
I can't tell you how many coaches say I need a better clientele.
00:25:10.454 --> 00:25:13.686
It's like, really, you're not aware you need a better clientele.
00:25:13.686 --> 00:25:20.666
I gotta tell you, I'm worried about your coaching skills, right, right, it's not the client, it's you, honey, right, so.
00:25:20.666 --> 00:25:27.078
So so here's this guy who's confessing right, why am I losing all my money?
00:25:27.078 --> 00:25:28.248
Then I make it, I make it again.
00:25:28.829 --> 00:25:29.230
Yes.
00:25:29.372 --> 00:25:30.414
Because you need to forgive.
00:25:30.414 --> 00:25:40.858
So forgiveness is more impactful in our lives than we have been taught, than we have been trained, than we acknowledge that we understand.
00:25:40.858 --> 00:25:50.076
So if you keep repeating a pattern, if you keep having resentment, if you keep shutting down, if you keep closing your heart, that's all forgiveness work.
00:25:50.664 --> 00:25:52.868
Yes, powerful.
00:25:52.868 --> 00:26:05.476
Like you said, I don't think we understand the weight of forgiveness and how impactful it is in our life and how much weight, uh, in human capital that we may even invest in on it, in on that.
00:26:05.476 --> 00:26:19.132
So, like you said, even with the, the eight-figure person that you were talking when he was looking for this big like strategy, and it's right right forgiveness, forgiving his well, yes you know, and I was talking to a really good friend of mine and she is a minister's wife.
00:26:19.432 --> 00:26:22.432
Yes, and she's been a minister's wife for whatever 40 years.
00:26:22.732 --> 00:26:22.953
Yeah.
00:26:23.746 --> 00:26:24.228
And I.
00:26:24.228 --> 00:26:25.492
She is a coach with me now.
00:26:25.492 --> 00:26:37.354
She trained as a to become a certified Peerless Living Coach and she said the reason she did is and she taught Bible and she taught all the classes at this big giant church that her husband was a minister at pastor at.
00:26:37.354 --> 00:26:41.380
And she said I heard about forgiveness.
00:26:41.380 --> 00:26:42.320
We just talked about this yesterday.
00:26:42.320 --> 00:26:44.952
She goes I heard about forgiveness my whole life.
00:26:45.433 --> 00:26:45.775
Yes.
00:26:46.766 --> 00:26:48.510
But nobody told me how to do it.
00:26:48.992 --> 00:26:49.714
That's right.
00:26:50.266 --> 00:26:51.490
Because we have to apply it.
00:26:51.490 --> 00:26:52.994
Yeah, we have to apply it.
00:26:52.994 --> 00:26:57.553
So she said that how she was taught about forgiveness is the shame that you didn't forgive.
00:26:57.553 --> 00:26:58.534
Well, why aren't you forgiving them?
00:26:58.534 --> 00:26:59.355
Why aren't you forgiving them?
00:26:59.355 --> 00:27:00.136
Why aren't you forgiving them?
00:27:00.136 --> 00:27:01.740
Why aren't you forgiving them?
00:27:01.740 --> 00:27:02.621
Shame on you for not forgiving them.
00:27:02.621 --> 00:27:04.707
You better forgive them.
00:27:04.707 --> 00:27:05.509
You haven't forgiven them, you know.
00:27:05.509 --> 00:27:08.237
So it's all about shaming and blaming Like you didn't forgive.
00:27:08.237 --> 00:27:09.829
That's why your life screwed up.
00:27:10.231 --> 00:27:10.874
That's right.
00:27:11.005 --> 00:27:12.450
They were never told how.
00:27:13.032 --> 00:27:13.374
Right.
00:27:14.015 --> 00:27:19.500
And I find that is the number one thing that drove me is, you know, I wanted to be minister.
00:27:19.500 --> 00:27:21.781
I was 12, you know, by the time I was 12, 13,.
00:27:21.781 --> 00:27:27.936
And then my human reality, and that spiritual truth and human reality.
00:27:27.936 --> 00:27:35.145
When I would read spiritual books or personal development books, and they would just be like love yourself or whatever.
00:27:35.145 --> 00:27:37.462
How do you do that, Right, how do you do that?
00:27:37.462 --> 00:27:49.569
And nobody actually about the little like literally like how to do these things, and so that's what I've devoted my life to is cause.
00:27:49.569 --> 00:27:58.609
I know what it is that desire to love yourself, that desire to give your life over to God, the desire to be in the dance with the divine, that desire, but how?
00:27:58.609 --> 00:27:59.432
How?
00:27:59.633 --> 00:28:10.872
how you hit the nail on the head, I mean, and sometimes through the journey of self-love, when you're going through so much trauma or you're trying to heal or forgive.
00:28:10.872 --> 00:28:21.593
Sometimes you can't even articulate it and some people look at you and say this is easy, it's just as simple as this, and for some people it's not.
00:28:21.593 --> 00:28:22.320
It's not.
00:28:22.320 --> 00:28:33.567
We really need to know the how, and sometimes it needs to be broken down and explained literally on how we can apply it to our lives.
00:28:33.567 --> 00:28:35.192
So I appreciate that.
00:28:35.192 --> 00:28:36.923
I want to go into the next question.
00:28:36.923 --> 00:28:38.728
Two questions and then I'll wrap it up.
00:28:38.728 --> 00:28:41.141
How do we function in life?
00:28:41.141 --> 00:28:43.705
Because a lot of complainers are fear-driven.
00:28:43.705 --> 00:28:56.310
So that may be, that could be at our place of worship, that could be a friend, that could be the place where we're employed, some people we may do business with, and it could be a downer sometimes.
00:28:56.310 --> 00:29:05.289
How do we continually press in to live a fearless life when you could be impacted by some complainer, fear-driven people?
00:29:05.289 --> 00:29:06.792
How do we create that boundary?
00:29:08.441 --> 00:29:10.804
So I'm going to say two things real quick.
00:29:10.804 --> 00:29:14.409
One is there's a difference in my world between complaining and venting.
00:29:14.409 --> 00:29:21.624
So complaining is a mindless, endless conversation about what's wrong, with no desire for a solution.
00:29:21.624 --> 00:29:27.286
Like if you gave them a solution they'd be like well, I need to complain more than solution.
00:29:27.286 --> 00:29:30.260
Right, like they're caught up in the complaining because it gives them power.
00:29:30.260 --> 00:29:33.986
Right, gives them a false sense of superiority, sainthood, etc.
00:29:33.986 --> 00:29:43.747
So you as an individual, me as an individual, I do need to vent, ie get my feelings out, have a safe place to share exactly how I'm feeling.
00:29:44.450 --> 00:29:44.630
Now.
00:29:44.630 --> 00:29:48.401
It might sound the same, but they're different intentions.
00:29:48.401 --> 00:29:51.682
Complaining again doesn't have a desire for resolution.
00:29:51.682 --> 00:29:54.244
Complaining doesn't have a desire for resolution.
00:29:54.244 --> 00:29:56.446
Complaining doesn't have a desire to, you know, move past it.
00:29:56.446 --> 00:29:57.147
But venting is.
00:29:57.387 --> 00:29:58.088
I'm awake.
00:29:58.088 --> 00:30:08.737
I know that I have all these feelings, all these feelings stuffed inside, all these thoughts, all these feelings, and I have to get them out in order for me to clear, to get clear again.
00:30:08.737 --> 00:30:14.695
So I'm going to call a good friend and you know I'm going to be like, hey, or I'm going to put in my journal.
00:30:14.695 --> 00:30:15.590
I'm going to be like, hey, do you have five minutes?
00:30:15.590 --> 00:30:19.732
I need to vent and then I'm going to train that person, because while I'm venting, they cannot go.
00:30:19.972 --> 00:30:24.505
Oh, no, or really, oh my god, that's horrible, right, there's no, no, none of that.
00:30:24.505 --> 00:30:33.210
You're just giving me a safe place to say whatever I need to say and then at the end of it, um, I say, you know, know, I'm complete.
00:30:33.210 --> 00:30:40.932
And then the person the other person who's my venting partner either says changes the subject, right, because we're not.
00:30:40.932 --> 00:30:47.607
It's not about working through it, unless, I request, will you help me find a solution?
00:30:47.607 --> 00:30:56.134
So, if you're not ready to find a solution but you have all these feelings, you just need to go and find a venting partner and all of that is discussed in in fearless living.
00:30:56.134 --> 00:30:58.861
And I think that's really important.
00:30:58.861 --> 00:31:02.289
The difference, because I don't want people to to stuff their feelings.
00:31:02.289 --> 00:31:03.461
I want you to have a safe place.
00:31:03.461 --> 00:31:10.130
So it's a notebook, it's a friend, but you're not there to talk your friend into you being right.
00:31:10.269 --> 00:31:13.653
You're not, you're right, you're not there to go like, don't you agree with me?
00:31:13.653 --> 00:31:15.501
That's not venting, that's complaining.
00:31:15.843 --> 00:31:25.463
So, that's the first thing to get really clear when you're listening to these quote unquote complainers are they really looking for a solution or are they just looking to feel sorry for themselves?
00:31:25.463 --> 00:31:27.492
The other thing that you could do.
00:31:27.492 --> 00:31:28.637
So that's one distinction.
00:31:28.637 --> 00:31:37.595
The second thing is is let's say, you have a good friend who just keeps complaining about the same thing and you want to learn the skill of how to redirect right, how do I shift them?
00:31:37.595 --> 00:31:49.141
So you could say something like you know, sally, I've heard you talk about this a few times and I'm wondering if you want to find a solution for it, right, right, and you don't have no judgment.
00:31:49.161 --> 00:31:51.003
You're like I'm just wondering if you want to find a solution for it.
00:31:51.003 --> 00:31:54.230
I wonder if you want to work through and figure out how to get on the other side.
00:31:54.230 --> 00:31:57.523
I just want to support you as best I can Now.
00:31:57.523 --> 00:32:01.054
That person will most likely look at you like what, what are you talking?
00:32:01.054 --> 00:32:03.780
You're not a very good friend.
00:32:03.780 --> 00:32:05.222
What are you asking?
00:32:05.222 --> 00:32:16.778
Well, I've just heard you talk about this many times and I love you and I just want to know if you're ready to move to the other side of it or if you want me to work with you and be with you while we work to get to the other side.
00:32:17.298 --> 00:32:23.714
Now, there are going to be things that people vent about for years, ie a divorce, a death, right.
00:32:23.714 --> 00:32:29.205
They're not looking necessarily to get to the other side in the first month or six months, right?
00:32:29.205 --> 00:32:35.035
So you, as a good friend, may honor their need to vent, but you also can redirect, okay.
00:32:35.035 --> 00:32:58.641
The other thing is is that if you are a complainer and you know you are if you're a complainer, then one of the one of the things that we teach in fearless living is every time you say a complaint, you need to turn it into a gratitude Now, that is not an easy skill into a gratitude.
00:32:58.641 --> 00:33:03.875
Now, that is not an easy skill because if you're complaining, it may be difficult to find any good thing about it, that's right but that right, but that's the practice.
00:33:04.215 --> 00:33:10.772
That's the practice is again, I'm not taking away your anger or righteousness about something.
00:33:10.772 --> 00:33:11.013
I mean.
00:33:11.013 --> 00:33:12.262
Bad things happen to us.
00:33:12.262 --> 00:33:14.790
We have things to complain about, right, and be upset about.
00:33:14.790 --> 00:33:21.865
But then when you are able, when you have vented to you know, release that right.
00:33:22.367 --> 00:33:22.689
Yes.
00:33:23.260 --> 00:33:28.164
And you then move into gratitude even and it's not gratitude Like I'm so glad they're alive.
00:33:28.164 --> 00:33:29.469
That might not be it, Right.
00:33:29.469 --> 00:33:30.521
It might be.
00:33:30.521 --> 00:33:37.453
The gratitude might be like oh, I am really grateful that I have opened my heart enough to see how difficult it is to move through this life.
00:33:37.453 --> 00:33:45.953
You know, I'm so grateful that I can see through their anger that they're just a little girl in need of love, right?
00:33:45.953 --> 00:33:51.848
I'm so grateful that I can see the difference now between ABC, right?
00:33:52.089 --> 00:33:52.369
Yes.
00:33:52.569 --> 00:33:56.682
So so it's not about being grateful for their bad behavior.
00:33:56.682 --> 00:34:01.212
It's not about being grateful for their bad attitude or their attack on you.
00:34:01.212 --> 00:34:02.723
That's not what we're grateful for.
00:34:03.184 --> 00:34:03.404
Right.
00:34:03.425 --> 00:34:05.351
We're grateful for what's.
00:34:05.351 --> 00:34:07.262
What's a gift, what's the gift it's giving us.
00:34:07.683 --> 00:34:08.206
That's right.
00:34:08.286 --> 00:34:09.047
Maybe right.
00:34:09.047 --> 00:34:13.402
Maybe it's the awareness for us to finally shift and take responsibility and own our crap.
00:34:13.862 --> 00:34:15.885
Yes, I like that.
00:34:15.885 --> 00:34:19.947
Own that self-awareness, own your stuff, own that crap.
00:34:19.947 --> 00:34:22.230
Like having that self-awareness.
00:34:22.230 --> 00:34:25.572
That's key, that's part of the journey, that's part of growth.
00:34:25.733 --> 00:34:29.856
And I love that you're saying that because there's a double edged sword with awareness.
00:34:29.856 --> 00:34:34.561
Yeah Right, we can't.
00:34:34.561 --> 00:34:38.246
We can't change without awareness, when awareness is the number one thing we need.
00:34:38.246 --> 00:34:42.032
But in that awareness we also feel and we also remember.
00:34:42.032 --> 00:34:48.393
And we also look at our own lives, but again, this is the good news.
00:34:48.393 --> 00:34:57.623
So a lot of people start becoming more aware and they start having feelings and they are afraid of those feelings, so they shut down their awareness.
00:34:57.943 --> 00:34:58.545
That's right.
00:34:59.126 --> 00:34:59.327
Right.
00:34:59.327 --> 00:35:02.333
Instead, what you want to do is go oh my gosh, I'm becoming aware.
00:35:02.333 --> 00:35:05.644
Yay me, Yay me, and.
00:35:05.644 --> 00:35:11.275
And now it's just showing me how I have no little relationship with my feelings.
00:35:11.619 --> 00:35:11.981
Yeah.
00:35:12.141 --> 00:35:16.083
This is my next area of transformation, my next area of empowerment.
00:35:16.083 --> 00:35:22.005
I'm going to figure out how to be with feelings, because feelings, in the world of fearless living, is just energy.
00:35:22.005 --> 00:35:28.208
So if you stuff your feelings, you're taking away your confidence, your energy, your drive, your ambition, right?
00:35:28.811 --> 00:35:29.853
That is powerful.
00:35:29.853 --> 00:35:40.965
Ooh, that was a nugget for me and me, you know, and me working with people, and people that might be close to me, but for me as well, I think, when people are working through conflict or they're going through therapy.
00:35:40.965 --> 00:35:50.445
You know, I have a close friend who went through therapy and once they started hitting that self-awareness piece, she quit and I'm just like, oh, because?
00:35:50.565 --> 00:35:51.887
because they don't know what to do.
00:35:52.369 --> 00:35:52.688
Right.
00:35:52.728 --> 00:35:54.873
Right, and maybe the therapist didn't.
00:35:54.873 --> 00:35:59.664
You know, maybe they didn't prep them, or maybe the therapist wasn't aware, or you know whatever happened.
00:35:59.724 --> 00:36:00.226
Yeah.
00:36:01.219 --> 00:36:24.755
But that's why, when you start working with somebody, you've got to lay the groundwork right away so that, as they're moving through the different stages of evolution and development and awareness in the world of fearless living, I give people tools right away so that when they're starting to move through things, they already have tools and they already have awareness.
00:36:24.755 --> 00:36:28.585
So now, even though it's scary, it's still scary.
00:36:28.585 --> 00:36:30.268
It is Holy crap.
00:36:30.268 --> 00:36:33.347
I remembered when I did that, because that's the other thing.
00:36:33.347 --> 00:36:36.237
You get really humbled, because you're like, oh, remembered when I did that, cause that's the other thing, you get really humbled because you're like, oh, crap, I did that.
00:36:36.237 --> 00:36:37.989
Now I'm remembering when I did that to somebody.
00:36:37.989 --> 00:36:40.264
Oh my God, I remember when I thought that.
00:36:40.344 --> 00:36:41.146
Oh my God, I remember when.
00:36:41.367 --> 00:36:42.148
I right.
00:36:42.148 --> 00:36:48.702
So it's very humbling and and that is where freedom lies, that is where your true destiny lies.
00:36:48.702 --> 00:36:52.184
We need skills, we need skills and we need tools.
00:36:52.184 --> 00:36:56.146
So that's the human reality part In human reality.
00:36:56.146 --> 00:36:57.168
We need skills and tools.
00:36:57.168 --> 00:37:07.755
But from the spiritual truth part, we need to have a foundation of what we're committed to and what our intention is and who we really know ourselves to be and who we want to express.
00:37:07.755 --> 00:37:23.530
And those two things together then give us the courage, the willingness, the fortitude IEB, you know, abcd to keep going when we're hitting that place of like holy crap, holy crap is the good news, holy crap is the good news.
00:37:23.530 --> 00:37:25.474
I need to write, I need to do a post about that.
00:37:25.474 --> 00:37:26.659
Holy crap is the good news.
00:37:26.699 --> 00:37:27.059
Wait a minute.
00:37:27.059 --> 00:37:28.001
Write it down right now.
00:37:28.001 --> 00:37:29.643
Yes, that's a status update.
00:37:29.643 --> 00:37:48.722
My last question is you have shown us and myself and listeners what fearless living looks like, and you know from Minnesota, from your parents, you know this journey, the hospital, how you ended up in this space today.
00:37:48.722 --> 00:37:50.985
It's just amazing, it's a miracle, literally.
00:37:50.985 --> 00:38:04.900
And I what does living fearless mean to you in your own personal life and how you pour that out and you see people walking that out.
00:38:04.900 --> 00:38:06.043
What does that mean to you?
00:38:08.067 --> 00:38:10.652
Our motto at Fearless Living is live the life your soul intended.
00:38:11.099 --> 00:38:11.420
Yes.
00:38:11.702 --> 00:38:16.302
And I think that is still as true today as it was 30 years ago.
00:38:16.302 --> 00:38:20.420
You know my mother, you know people ask me like what drives you or what's your?
00:38:20.420 --> 00:38:21.764
You know, what do you think?
00:38:21.764 --> 00:38:33.592
You know, and I go well from a psychological point of view, if you wanted to psychoanalyze me, right, my mother died as she left my father, as she was just about to step out to live the life her soul intended, right.
00:38:33.592 --> 00:38:37.476
So you know, I believe, and this is my edge.
00:38:37.476 --> 00:38:41.001
All the time it's like am I following divine?
00:38:41.001 --> 00:38:42.324
Am I following the nudges?
00:38:42.324 --> 00:38:44.849
Am I doing what I am being guided to do?
00:38:45.530 --> 00:38:52.873
And sometimes I don't do it as fast as I'd like or I don't do it with the same enthusiasm as maybe I once did, right.
00:38:52.873 --> 00:38:55.739
I don't do it with the same enthusiasm as maybe I once did Right.
00:38:55.739 --> 00:38:58.302
I'm like, really, god, really, what Right?
00:38:58.302 --> 00:39:01.532
Because I, because you never, you never get rid of fear.
00:39:01.532 --> 00:39:04.746
You only build a different relationship with it.
00:39:04.746 --> 00:39:05.548
Wow.
00:39:05.548 --> 00:39:10.248
So you know, I've been given the grace of knowing that.
00:39:10.248 --> 00:39:13.509
One, there's nothing wrong with me, and if that's one message I'd like to transmute is there's nothing wrong with me.
00:39:13.509 --> 00:39:15.914
And if that's one message I'd like to transmute is there's nothing wrong with you, it's just fear.
00:39:15.914 --> 00:39:19.684
So everything you think your problems are are just fear related, yes.
00:39:19.684 --> 00:39:23.713
And two, we're all here, I believe, to live the life our soul intended.
00:39:23.980 --> 00:39:27.925
That's right, and and I believe the only thing standing in your way is fear.
00:39:28.365 --> 00:39:30.128
Fear Right, yes, yes.
00:39:30.288 --> 00:39:54.231
So you know, I too have my edges, I too have the places of growing, I too have the things that are calling me that are sitting on my desk and I'm going yeah, I mean, I literally started doing something yesterday I'm petrified to do and I started doing it, and then I had a meeting, and then I had all these things happening and then I didn't get back to it.
00:39:54.231 --> 00:40:01.757
And so now today, I'm like Rhonda, are you going to go back to it, right, right, or something else going to be really important.
00:40:02.097 --> 00:40:02.336
Right.
00:40:08.039 --> 00:40:08.079
So.
00:40:08.079 --> 00:40:11.485
So I too, you know, have to dive in with my throat you know my lump in my throat.
00:40:11.905 --> 00:40:17.034
Well, Rhonda, I think one example that you showed us is that we all have fear.
00:40:17.034 --> 00:40:26.519
We have to reframe what that fear is in our life and how can we use it to be empowered.
00:40:26.519 --> 00:40:42.614
And it's still a journey, but it could really elevate us to the next level and we could live fearlessly, you know, and as we hit a different chapter or a different part of our journey, you know, have those tools to help us work through that and do the both.
00:40:43.115 --> 00:40:48.690
And yes, and I would love to give a tool, so I would love to gift your audience with your listeners.
00:40:48.690 --> 00:40:52.588
Fearlesslivingorg forward slash risk R-I-S-K.
00:40:52.588 --> 00:40:56.936
So a while back we talked about how everything had to be broken down in little chunks.
00:40:56.936 --> 00:40:57.980
You mentioned right, yeah.
00:40:57.980 --> 00:41:02.291
Well, this course is called Stretch, risk or Die.
00:41:02.291 --> 00:41:05.746
Yeah, it's three 15-minute videos, easy as pie.
00:41:05.746 --> 00:41:07.751
It's got worksheets, it's got a workbook.
00:41:07.751 --> 00:41:12.487
It's super simple, but it is going to show you how to break down things.
00:41:12.487 --> 00:41:16.755
But, more importantly, it's going to show you how, what happens when you don't.
00:41:17.177 --> 00:41:19.280
Yeah, and you're also at the end of the third video.
00:41:19.280 --> 00:41:20.344
I talk about the wheel of fear.
00:41:20.344 --> 00:41:24.940
So, I'm going to be sharing with you my model of how to master fear.
00:41:24.940 --> 00:41:31.409
So go over to fearless livingorg O-R-G forward, slash R-I-S-K risk and grab that free gift.

That's a blessing.
00:41:36.402 --> 00:41:37.003
I'm very grateful for that.
00:41:37.003 --> 00:41:42.581
I will make sure that I put that in the description of the podcast so that everyone has access to that.
00:41:42.581 --> 00:41:49.313

00:41:49.313 --> 00:41:50.599

00:42:04.221 --> 00:42:06.802
Awesome, awesome, I love it, I love it.
00:42:06.802 --> 00:42:08.603
One last question.
00:42:08.603 --> 00:42:10.882
I know I said the other one's last, but what gives you hope?
00:42:10.882 --> 00:42:12.443
What gives you hope in the world?
00:42:12.443 --> 00:42:14.364
We've got a lot coming at us right now.
00:42:14.364 --> 00:42:18.706
Yeah, that's a really good question, but what gives you hope?
00:42:19.365 --> 00:42:27.349
Yes, you know I'm going to go into the spiritual right now, because I do believe that there is, and you know whether this is true or not.
00:42:27.349 --> 00:42:31.090
Yes, I don't care, because it works for me.
00:42:31.090 --> 00:42:31.990
That's right.
00:42:31.990 --> 00:42:36.693
I need to believe that there is a divine plan, right?
00:42:36.693 --> 00:42:40.534
There's a divine mastery, that we are creating this world together.
00:42:40.554 --> 00:42:50.498
By the way, yeah, you know, we're all creating this world together and if we want to shift the direction of the world, each one of us has the power to make a difference, right?
00:42:50.498 --> 00:42:52.639
So, and again, it's a cliche, but it's true.
00:42:52.639 --> 00:42:55.246
Yes, you know, I always say cliches are cliches, because they're true.
00:42:55.628 --> 00:42:55.949
Right.
00:42:56.543 --> 00:43:10.521
So what gives me hope is I do believe in the omniscience of spirit, I do believe in the you know, I believe that there is a greater plan and I need to believe that that's right, To give me the courage to take action.
00:43:10.521 --> 00:43:12.382
That's right.
00:43:12.382 --> 00:43:23.168
So you know, and we've gone through difficult things before, you know, if you look at the world, you know the fall of the Roman Empire, right Like we've gone through horrible, horrible things before.
00:43:23.708 --> 00:43:23.947
Yeah.
00:43:24.148 --> 00:43:27.869
And somehow we crawled through it.
00:43:28.411 --> 00:43:28.690
Yes.
00:43:28.731 --> 00:43:42.018
Right, and I think there are people, different people waking up that were asleep Right, like different, and there's going to be a lot of people waking up in the next year to two years, I suspect.
00:43:42.018 --> 00:43:51.704
And you know, as we wake up, we cannot fall back in fear.
00:43:51.724 --> 00:44:03.067
That's right, right, so we got a lot of work to do, nicole, right, we got a lot of work to do because, there needs to be a place for all these people who are having these awakenings to not feel judged or to be ostracized right, but to be loved.
00:44:03.507 --> 00:44:05.010
That's right To be loved.
00:44:05.010 --> 00:44:06.514
That is key.
00:44:06.514 --> 00:44:09.382
With that, rhonda, I just want to say thank you.
00:44:09.382 --> 00:44:34.032
I am so grateful that you graced us with your presence today, just with the fearlessness that you've in your story and just the miracle of you existing, and to pour it out into other people that they can live fearlessly too, and then the awakenings that's going to occur to have a space for people to come to, we need to really walk in love and apply it and to be ready for those people.
00:44:34.032 --> 00:44:42.614
We each have a unique vine purpose and journey, but we got to work through the fear first and make it our friend.
00:44:42.614 --> 00:44:44.362
So thank you, rhonda.
00:44:44.362 --> 00:44:45.585
I so appreciate it.
00:44:45.585 --> 00:44:46.528
Thank you again.
00:44:46.528 --> 00:44:48.112
It's been a wonderful conversation.
00:44:48.112 --> 00:44:50.465
Thank you, thank you.
