Jennifer Sheets and co-host Angela Cherry sit down with Bryan Bird, founder, President, and CEO of World Bass Enterprises, to spotlight the inaugural world championship of professional bass fishing, "The Champions". Born from Bird’s drive to bridge the divide between America’s two major fishing leagues, the unprecedented tournament brings together the globe's top 60 qualifying anglers alongside two selected "Average Joes" to compete on Nashville’s Old Hickory Lake. Scheduled for October 28–31, the competition offers a historic, record-setting $3.25 million total purse—featuring a staggering $1.25 million grand prize for first place—positioning the event as professional bass fishing's ultimate Super Bowl.
Beyond the competition on the water, Bird and his team have built an expansive, family-friendly outdoor spectacle designed to unite the entire Nashville community. Festivities at Sanders Ferry Park and the Gaylord Opryland Resort include live weigh-ins, 120,000 square feet of free outdoor expo exhibits, kids' zones, and an explosive shotgun-style start kicked off by a Civil War cannon and Lee Greenwood. Entertainment reaches its peak with an A-list concert lineup featuring Riley Green, Randy Houser, and Trace Adkins at The Pinnacle, accompanied by pay-per-view streaming options, pro-am opportunities, and major spectator sweepstakes offering boats and ATVs. Embracing the entrepreneurial grind and Bird's core philosophy of staying authentic and working hard, the event promises to make a lasting splash across Middle Tennessee and the global angling community.
