Build A Business That Serves You with Chris Shurian

What if your business actually served your life—instead of consuming it?

In this episode of Coach Launch Podcast, Matthew interviews battle-tested entrepreneur and business coach Chris Shurian, founder of Bootstraps and Battle Scars and Founders Exchange. With nearly four decades of real-world experience, Chris has built and scaled multiple businesses, including a $15M construction company, resorts, hotels, and restaurants—and now coaches entrepreneurs on how to scale their business without burning out.

Chris shares how he:

• Bootstrapped his first construction company from “me and a truck” into multiple companies with 50–60 employees
• Survived the 2008 recession, lost almost everything, and rebuilt in hospitality and restaurants
• Successfully exited a restaurant business in one of the toughest industries in the world
• Turned his bootstraps and battle scars into a business coaching practice helping founders, CEOs, and owners

You’ll learn how Chris helps entrepreneurs and business owners:

• Build systems and processes so the business runs without them doing everything
• Scale their business while improving customer experience and culture
• Hire for personality and train for skill to create high-performing teams
• Identify blind spots by interviewing staff and customers and turning feedback into action
• Win back time, clarity, and mental space, not just revenue

Today, through Bootstraps and Battle Scars and Founders Exchange, Chris works directly with founders who are “successful on paper” but overwhelmed, isolated, and stressed. He helps them fix money, time, stress, and leadership challenges using practical frameworks, not theory. He’s also working on his upcoming book, distilling decades of entrepreneurial lessons into tools any founder can apply.

If you’re an entrepreneur, coach, or business owner who wants to scale your business with systems, improve leadership, and create a business that truly serves your life, this episode is for you.
