A report from the Salaf mentions for the student to ask a good question is half of knowledge. For the teacher, to say I don’t know is half of knowledge.
Veneration for the Sunnah is paramount. Ibn Taymiyyah (r.h) mentions that the Khawaarij only partially follow the Sunnah, leaving some of it. Because they did this they deviated. So what then of those who do not follow the Sunnah at all?
The Messenger ﷺ: “The one who holds steadfast to the Sunnah will enter Paradise”.
