AUTHORITY FIRST — THEY NEVER HAD IT!
Liberty Dialogues | ConstitutionalCounty.org | theyneverhadit.com
For decades, Americans challenging the federal income tax have been fighting the wrong battle.
They argue over statutes, regulations, definitions, and the meaning of words. Who is a person? What is income? Who is subject to the code?
STOP ARGUING OVER THE WORDS!
There is one question that must come before all the others.
WHERE DID THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT GET ITS ALLEGED AUTHORITY TO TAX THE EARNINGS OF THE PRIVATE AMERICAN?
Before Congress can impose an obligation, it must possess the constitutional authority to do so. Before the government can claim jurisdiction, it must establish the lawful foundation for that jurisdiction.
And before an American is threatened with confiscation, prosecution, or imprisonment, shouldn’t the government be required to establish the authority it claims to exercise?
A STATUTE CANNOT CREATE AUTHORITY THE CONSTITUTION NEVER DELEGATED. A REGULATION CANNOT MANUFACTURE JURISDICTION. AND NO DEFINITION CAN TRANSFORM AN ALLEGED POWER INTO A LAWFUL ONE.
Yet Americans continue arguing over the language of statutes while neglecting the fundamental question of authority.
WE ARE DEBATING THE RULES BEFORE ESTABLISHING WHETHER THE GOVERNMENT HAD THE POWER TO MAKE THEM!
The government invokes Article I, the Sixteenth Amendment, and the Internal Revenue Code as the foundation for its claimed taxing authority.
But invoking a constitutional provision is not a substitute for examining what that provision actually authorizes, what limitations remain, and whether the asserted jurisdiction reaches the individual.
AUTHORITY FIRST. JURISDICTION SECOND. APPLICATION THIRD. DEFINITIONS LAST.
This is the discipline of the Liberty Dialogues System.
And this is the foundation of our mission at ConstitutionalCounty.org: restoring constitutional accountability, beginning in every American county.
But there is something even more important.
THEY NEVER HAD IT!
That is the central proposition examined in the Victory series and at theyneverhadit.com: that powers exercised and accepted for generations must be traced to their original constitutional foundation, rather than justified through accumulated statutes, regulations, and judicial interpretations.

Stop wasting years arguing over definitions.
DEMAND THE SOURCE. EXAMINE THE JURISDICTION. CHALLENGE THE PRESUMPTION.
Because if the Constitution never delegated the power, no amount of legislative language can create it.
THEY NEVER HAD IT.
As always, may truth reign supreme.
