4
00:00:18.000 --> 00:00:23.440
Act for Scene one a room in the castle. Enter
5
00:00:23.600 --> 00:00:28.480
King Claudius, Queen Gertrude, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.
6
00:00:29.320 --> 00:00:34.560
There's matter in these size, these profound heaves. You must
7
00:00:34.759 --> 00:00:39.640
translate tis fit we understand them. Where is your son?
8
00:00:40.399 --> 00:00:42.600
Bestow this place on us a little while?
9
00:00:43.159 --> 00:00:47.799
Exeunt Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Ah, My good lord, what have
10
00:00:47.880 --> 00:00:48.679
I seen to night?
11
00:00:49.560 --> 00:00:50.719
What Gertrude?
12
00:00:51.119 --> 00:00:55.240
How does Hamlet mad as the sea and wind when
13
00:00:55.320 --> 00:00:59.479
both contend, which is the mightier? In his lawless fit?
14
00:01:00.079 --> 00:01:04.040
Behind the arras hearing something stir whips out, his rapier
15
00:01:04.680 --> 00:01:09.239
cries a rat, a rat, and in this brainish apprehension
16
00:01:10.280 --> 00:01:11.879
kills the unseen good old man.
17
00:01:12.840 --> 00:01:17.079
Oh, heavy deed, it had been so with us, had
18
00:01:17.120 --> 00:01:20.719
we been there. His liberty is full of threats to all,
19
00:01:21.159 --> 00:01:25.719
to you, yourself, to us, to every one. Alas, how
20
00:01:25.760 --> 00:01:29.040
shall this bloody deed be answered? It will be laid
21
00:01:29.040 --> 00:01:32.239
to us whose providence should have kept short, restrained, and
22
00:01:32.319 --> 00:01:36.640
out of haunt this mad young man. But so much
23
00:01:36.840 --> 00:01:40.359
was our love we would not understand what was most fit.
24
00:01:41.439 --> 00:01:44.000
But like the owner of a foul disease, to keep
25
00:01:44.079 --> 00:01:46.760
it from divulging, let it feed even on the pith
26
00:01:46.799 --> 00:01:47.959
of life.
27
00:01:48.280 --> 00:01:51.280
Where is he gone to draw apart the body he
28
00:01:51.359 --> 00:01:56.000
hath killed, or whom his very madness, like some ore
29
00:01:56.200 --> 00:01:59.519
among a mineral of metal's base, shows itself pure.
30
00:02:00.599 --> 00:02:03.319
He waits for what is done.
31
00:02:02.719 --> 00:02:05.840
Oh, Gertrude, come away the sun. No sooner shall the
32
00:02:05.840 --> 00:02:08.680
mountains touch. But we will ship him Hence, and this
33
00:02:08.919 --> 00:02:11.759
vile deed we must, with all our majesty and skill,
34
00:02:11.800 --> 00:02:16.719
both countenance and excuse. Ho, Guildenstern re.
35
00:02:16.919 --> 00:02:20.199
Enter Rosenkrantz and Guildenstern.
36
00:02:20.159 --> 00:02:23.560
Friends, both go join you with some further aid. Hamlet
37
00:02:23.599 --> 00:02:27.280
in madness hath Polonius slain, and from his mother's closet
38
00:02:27.319 --> 00:02:30.960
hath he dragged him. Go seek him out, Speak fair,
39
00:02:31.080 --> 00:02:35.199
and bring the body into the chapel. I pray you haste.
40
00:02:34.919 --> 00:02:39.840
In this exeant Rosencrantz and Guildenstern come.
41
00:02:39.879 --> 00:02:42.479
Gertrude, will call up our wisest friends and let them
42
00:02:42.520 --> 00:02:46.719
know both what we mean to do? And what's untimely done? O?
43
00:02:46.840 --> 00:02:50.719
Come away? My soul is full of discord and.
44
00:02:50.680 --> 00:02:59.199
Dismay exeant scene too, another room in the castle. Enter Hamlet,
45
00:03:00.199 --> 00:03:04.479
safely stowed Hamlet, Lord Lord Hamlet.
46
00:03:04.919 --> 00:03:06.680
What noise? Who calls on Hamlet?
47
00:03:07.120 --> 00:03:07.319
Oh?
48
00:03:07.439 --> 00:03:08.080
Here they come?
49
00:03:08.879 --> 00:03:11.159
Enter Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.
50
00:03:11.800 --> 00:03:13.639
What have you done, my lord? With the dead body?
51
00:03:14.199 --> 00:03:16.319
Compounded it with dust? Where to tis kin?
52
00:03:16.919 --> 00:03:19.560
Tell us where tis that? We may take evnce and
53
00:03:19.599 --> 00:03:20.520
bear it to the chapel.
54
00:03:21.000 --> 00:03:24.719
Do not believe it? Believe what that I can keep
55
00:03:24.759 --> 00:03:27.919
your counsel in not mine own? Besides to be demanded
56
00:03:27.960 --> 00:03:31.199
of a sponge, what replication should be made by the
57
00:03:31.240 --> 00:03:31.960
son of a king?
58
00:03:32.599 --> 00:03:34.560
Take you me for a sponge, my lord?
59
00:03:35.000 --> 00:03:38.879
Ay, sir? That soaks up the King's countenance, his rewards,
60
00:03:38.919 --> 00:03:43.280
his authorities. But such officers do the king best service.
61
00:03:43.280 --> 00:03:46.000
In the end, he keeps them like an ape in
62
00:03:46.039 --> 00:03:49.439
the corner of his jaw, first mouthed, to be last
63
00:03:49.599 --> 00:03:52.280
swallowed when he needs what you have gleaned. It is
64
00:03:52.319 --> 00:03:55.240
but squeezing you and sponge you shall be dry again.
65
00:03:55.840 --> 00:03:58.319
I understand you not, my lord, I.
66
00:03:58.240 --> 00:04:01.319
Am glad of it. A knavish speech sleeps in a
67
00:04:01.319 --> 00:04:02.120
foolish ear.
68
00:04:02.599 --> 00:04:05.319
My Lord, you must tell us where the body is,
69
00:04:05.639 --> 00:04:06.879
and go with us to the king.
70
00:04:07.400 --> 00:04:09.599
The body is with the king, but the king is
71
00:04:09.639 --> 00:04:13.400
not with the body. The king is a thing, a thing,
72
00:04:13.639 --> 00:04:18.959
my lord of nothing. Bring me to him, Hide Fox
73
00:04:19.000 --> 00:04:19.560
and all.
74
00:04:19.399 --> 00:04:26.680
After exeunt Scene three, another room in the castle. Enter
75
00:04:26.920 --> 00:04:28.959
King Claudius attended.
76
00:04:29.560 --> 00:04:31.759
I have sent to seek him and to find the body.
77
00:04:32.480 --> 00:04:35.839
How dangerous is it that this man goes loose? Yet
78
00:04:35.879 --> 00:04:39.079
must not we put the strong law on him? He's
79
00:04:39.240 --> 00:04:42.879
loved of the distracted multitude, who like not in their
80
00:04:42.959 --> 00:04:46.560
judgment but their eyes. And where tis so? The offender's
81
00:04:46.560 --> 00:04:50.959
scourge is weighed, but never the offense to bear all smooth,
82
00:04:51.040 --> 00:04:54.680
and even this sudden sending him away must seem deliberate.
83
00:04:54.879 --> 00:04:55.240
Pause.
84
00:04:56.199 --> 00:04:59.839
Disease is desperate, grown by desperate appliance. Are relieved or not?
85
00:05:00.079 --> 00:05:02.199
All? Enter Rosencrantz.
86
00:05:02.759 --> 00:05:04.399
How now what hath befallen?
87
00:05:04.839 --> 00:05:07.240
Where the dead body is bestowed? My lord? We cannot
88
00:05:07.240 --> 00:05:10.920
dip from him? But where is he without my lord
89
00:05:11.240 --> 00:05:15.639
guarded to know your pleasure? Bring him before us, Ho Guildenstern,
90
00:05:16.040 --> 00:05:17.240
Bring in, my lord.
91
00:05:17.720 --> 00:05:20.600
Enter Hamlet and Gueldenstern.
92
00:05:20.439 --> 00:05:28.959
Now, Hamlet, where's Polonius at supper? At supper, where not where.
93
00:05:28.720 --> 00:05:32.120
He eats, but where he is eaten, a certain convocation
94
00:05:32.279 --> 00:05:35.720
of politic worms are een at him. Your worm is
95
00:05:35.759 --> 00:05:38.920
your only emperor. For diet. We fat all creatures else
96
00:05:38.959 --> 00:05:42.560
to fat us, and we fat ourselves for maggots. Your
97
00:05:42.600 --> 00:05:45.920
fat king and your lean beggar is but variable service.
98
00:05:46.399 --> 00:05:52.120
Two dishes, but to one table. That's the end. Alas
99
00:05:52.160 --> 00:05:54.959
alas a man may fish with the worm that hath
100
00:05:55.000 --> 00:05:56.839
eat of a king, and cat of the fish that
101
00:05:56.879 --> 00:05:57.879
hath fed of that worm.
102
00:05:58.639 --> 00:06:00.560
What dost you mean by this?
103
00:06:01.399 --> 00:06:04.040
Nothing but to show you how a king may go
104
00:06:04.079 --> 00:06:06.279
a progress through the guts of a beggar.
105
00:06:06.920 --> 00:06:10.439
Where is Polonious in heaven?
106
00:06:11.079 --> 00:06:14.600
Send hither to see. If your messenger find him not there,
107
00:06:14.720 --> 00:06:18.759
seek him in the other place yourself. But indeed, if
108
00:06:18.800 --> 00:06:23.000
you find him not within this month, you shall nose him.
109
00:06:23.040 --> 00:06:25.839
As you go up the stairs into the lobby.
110
00:06:25.879 --> 00:06:28.360
Go seek him there he will stay till you.
111
00:06:28.319 --> 00:06:32.199
Come, excellent attendants, Hamlet.
112
00:06:32.959 --> 00:06:37.360
This deed for thine especial safety, which we do tender,
113
00:06:37.399 --> 00:06:40.040
as we dearly agree for that which thou hast done,
114
00:06:40.720 --> 00:06:45.720
must send thee Hence with fiery quickness. Therefore prepare thyself.
115
00:06:46.319 --> 00:06:49.040
The bark is ready, and the wind at help. The
116
00:06:49.079 --> 00:06:54.040
associates tend, and everything is bent for England, For England,
117
00:06:54.720 --> 00:07:00.199
I Hamlet, good, So is it if thou knewest our purposes.
118
00:07:00.600 --> 00:07:04.439
I see a cherub that sees them. But come for England.
119
00:07:05.120 --> 00:07:09.480
Farewell, dear mother, thy loving father, Hamlet.
120
00:07:09.480 --> 00:07:12.720
My mother father and mother is man and wife. Man
121
00:07:12.759 --> 00:07:16.560
and wife is one flesh, and so my mother come
122
00:07:17.160 --> 00:07:17.759
for England.
123
00:07:18.639 --> 00:07:22.120
Exit, follow him at foot, tempt him with speed aboard.
124
00:07:22.240 --> 00:07:25.879
Delay it not. I'll have him hence to night away,
125
00:07:26.480 --> 00:07:29.000
for everything is sealed and done. That else leans on
126
00:07:29.040 --> 00:07:29.480
the affair.
127
00:07:30.360 --> 00:07:31.199
Pray you make.
128
00:07:31.079 --> 00:07:36.720
Haste exellont Rosencrantz and Guildenstern and England.
129
00:07:37.240 --> 00:07:40.399
If my love thou holdst at aught as my great
130
00:07:40.480 --> 00:07:44.360
power thereof may give thee sense. Since yet thy Sicatrice
131
00:07:44.439 --> 00:07:47.480
looks raw and red after the Danish sword, and thy
132
00:07:47.560 --> 00:07:51.480
free awe pays homage to us, Thou mayst not coldly
133
00:07:51.600 --> 00:07:55.920
set our sovereign process, which imports at full by letters
134
00:07:55.959 --> 00:08:03.120
congruing to that effect the present death of Hamlet. Do it, England,
135
00:08:04.279 --> 00:08:07.079
For like the hectic in my blood he rages, and
136
00:08:07.279 --> 00:08:12.079
thou must cure me till I know tis done. Howe'er
137
00:08:12.160 --> 00:08:14.759
my haaps, my joys were ne'er begun.
138
00:08:15.800 --> 00:08:22.399
Exit seene for a plain in Denmark. Enter Fortinbrass, A
139
00:08:22.519 --> 00:08:25.120
captain and soldiers marching.
140
00:08:25.439 --> 00:08:29.600
Gay captain from me, greet the Danish king, tell him
141
00:08:29.600 --> 00:08:33.720
that by his license, Fortinbrass craves the conveyance of a
142
00:08:33.720 --> 00:08:39.039
promised march over his kingdom, you know, the rendezvous. If
143
00:08:39.039 --> 00:08:42.039
that his Majesty would order with us, we shall express
144
00:08:42.039 --> 00:08:44.200
our duty in his eye.
145
00:08:44.200 --> 00:08:47.720
And let him know so I will do it, my lord,
146
00:08:48.440 --> 00:08:50.080
go softly.
147
00:08:49.720 --> 00:08:58.360
On excellent Fortembrass, and soldiers enter Hamlet, Rosencrantz, Guildenstern and others.
148
00:08:58.879 --> 00:09:01.840
Good Sir, what powers of these they are?
149
00:09:01.879 --> 00:09:02.879
Of Norway? Sir?
150
00:09:03.600 --> 00:09:04.519
How purposed, sir?
151
00:09:04.559 --> 00:09:07.679
I pray you against some part of Poland?
152
00:09:08.360 --> 00:09:09.279
Who commands them?
153
00:09:09.320 --> 00:09:14.159
Sir, the nephews to old Norway fought in bras goes.
154
00:09:13.960 --> 00:09:15.720
It against the man of Poland, Sir.
155
00:09:15.960 --> 00:09:19.840
Or for some frontier, truly to speak, and with no addition,
156
00:09:20.639 --> 00:09:23.279
we go to gain a little patch of ground that
157
00:09:23.399 --> 00:09:26.879
hath in it no profit but the name to pay
158
00:09:27.000 --> 00:09:31.519
five ducats five I would not farm it, Nor will
159
00:09:31.519 --> 00:09:34.360
it yield to Norway or the pole a rancor raid.
160
00:09:34.519 --> 00:09:35.879
Should it be sold in fee?
161
00:09:36.440 --> 00:09:38.440
Why then the Polac never will defend it.
162
00:09:39.039 --> 00:09:41.200
Yes, it is already garrisoned.
163
00:09:41.840 --> 00:09:46.360
Two thousand souls and twenty thousand ducats will not debate
164
00:09:46.399 --> 00:09:50.399
the question of this straw. This is the impostume of
165
00:09:50.519 --> 00:09:53.879
much wealth and peace that inward breaks and shows no
166
00:09:54.039 --> 00:09:58.159
cause without Why the man dies, I humbly thank you, sir,
167
00:09:58.879 --> 00:10:02.480
God be with you, sir, exit wilt please you go,
168
00:10:02.600 --> 00:10:05.960
my lord, I'll be with you straight go a little.
169
00:10:05.679 --> 00:10:09.559
Before excellentt all except Hamlet.
170
00:10:09.679 --> 00:10:13.759
How all occasions do in form against me and spur
171
00:10:13.960 --> 00:10:17.960
my dull revenge. What is a man, if his chief
172
00:10:18.080 --> 00:10:20.519
good and market of his time be but to sleep
173
00:10:20.559 --> 00:10:25.159
and feed a beast? No more? Sure, he that made
174
00:10:25.240 --> 00:10:29.039
us with such large discourse, looking before and after, gave
175
00:10:29.120 --> 00:10:32.879
us not that capability and godlike reason to fust in
176
00:10:33.000 --> 00:10:37.240
us unused now, whether it be beastial oblivion or some
177
00:10:37.480 --> 00:10:42.000
craven scruple of thinking too precisely on the event, a
178
00:10:42.039 --> 00:10:45.360
thought which quartered hath but one part wisdom, and ever
179
00:10:45.399 --> 00:10:49.039
three parts coward. I do not know why, yet I
180
00:10:49.200 --> 00:10:52.600
live to say this thing's to do, sith, I have
181
00:10:52.919 --> 00:10:55.919
cause and will, and strength and means to do it.
182
00:10:57.000 --> 00:11:01.600
Examples gross as earth exhort me. Witness this army of
183
00:11:01.639 --> 00:11:05.759
such mass and charge, led by a delicate and tender prince,
184
00:11:06.399 --> 00:11:10.720
whose spirit, with divine ambition pufft makes mouths at the
185
00:11:10.759 --> 00:11:15.240
invisible event, exposing what is mortal and unsure to all
186
00:11:15.279 --> 00:11:19.639
that fortune, death and danger dare even for an egg shell.
187
00:11:20.919 --> 00:11:24.200
Rightly to be great is not to stir without great argument,
188
00:11:24.799 --> 00:11:27.840
but greatly to find quarrel in a straw, when honor
189
00:11:27.919 --> 00:11:31.799
is at the stake. How stand I, then, that have
190
00:11:31.879 --> 00:11:36.320
a father killed, a mother stained excitements of my reason
191
00:11:36.399 --> 00:11:40.159
and my blood, and let all sleep, While to my
192
00:11:40.320 --> 00:11:44.799
shame I see the imminent death of twenty thousand men
193
00:11:45.159 --> 00:11:48.320
that for a fantasy and trick of fame go to
194
00:11:48.360 --> 00:11:52.320
their graves like beds, fight for a plot whereon the
195
00:11:52.440 --> 00:11:56.159
numbers cannot try the cause, which is not toomb enough
196
00:11:56.200 --> 00:12:01.120
and continent to hide the slain. Oh, from this time forth,
197
00:12:01.519 --> 00:12:04.840
my thoughts be bloody, or be nothing worth.
198
00:12:05.799 --> 00:12:12.440
Exit Scene five Elsinore, a room in the castle. Enter
199
00:12:12.600 --> 00:12:15.840
Queen Gertrude, Horatio and a gentleman.
200
00:12:16.519 --> 00:12:17.720
I will not speak with her.
201
00:12:18.639 --> 00:12:24.879
She is importunate, indeed distract her mood. Will needs be pitied.
202
00:12:25.799 --> 00:12:26.639
What would she have?
203
00:12:27.279 --> 00:12:31.840
She speaks much of her father says, she hears there's
204
00:12:31.919 --> 00:12:35.679
tricks in the world, and hems and beats her heart
205
00:12:36.360 --> 00:12:42.480
spurns enviously at Straws, speaks things in doubt that carry
206
00:12:42.519 --> 00:12:48.039
but half sense. Her speech is nothing. Yet the unshaped
207
00:12:48.240 --> 00:12:52.559
use of it doth move the hearers to collexion. They
208
00:12:52.799 --> 00:12:56.120
aim at it and botch the words up fit to
209
00:12:56.159 --> 00:13:00.360
their own thoughts, which, as her winks and not and
210
00:13:00.600 --> 00:13:05.000
gestures yield them, indeed, would make one think there might
211
00:13:05.159 --> 00:13:12.360
be sort, though nothing sure Yet much unhappily.
212
00:13:12.519 --> 00:13:15.679
Twere good she were spoken with, For she may strew
213
00:13:15.799 --> 00:13:18.480
dangerous conjectures in ill breeding minds.
214
00:13:19.279 --> 00:13:24.159
Let her come in Exit Horatio to my sick soul.
215
00:13:24.399 --> 00:13:28.399
As sin's true nature is, each toy seems prologued to
216
00:13:28.480 --> 00:13:32.399
some great amiss, so full of outlass. Jealousy is guilt,
217
00:13:33.159 --> 00:13:36.000
It spills itself in fearing to be spilt.
218
00:13:36.360 --> 00:13:39.080
Re Enter Horatio with Ophelia.
219
00:13:39.799 --> 00:13:42.759
Where is the beauteous majesty of Denmark?
220
00:13:43.320 --> 00:13:44.440
How now'll feel you?
221
00:13:45.200 --> 00:13:46.320
How should I.
222
00:13:46.480 --> 00:13:53.080
Your two love know from another? One by his cocklehat
223
00:13:53.120 --> 00:13:56.080
and staff and his sandals shown.
224
00:13:56.879 --> 00:13:59.879
Alas, sweet, lady, what imports this song?
225
00:14:00.720 --> 00:14:01.120
Say you?
226
00:14:02.200 --> 00:14:02.480
Nay?
227
00:14:03.039 --> 00:14:09.120
Pray you mark? He is dead and gone. Lady, he
228
00:14:09.399 --> 00:14:14.480
is dead and gone. At his hat a grass, green turf,
229
00:14:15.120 --> 00:14:20.159
at his heels a stone. Nay, but Ophelia, pray you
230
00:14:21.000 --> 00:14:27.840
mark white tis shroud as the mountains.
231
00:14:27.240 --> 00:14:30.480
Snow enter King Cloudius.
232
00:14:30.799 --> 00:14:37.440
Alas, look here, my lord lorded with sweet flowers, which
233
00:14:37.600 --> 00:14:45.399
be up to the grave, dead girl with too love shower?
234
00:14:46.679 --> 00:14:48.039
How do you, pretty lady?
235
00:14:48.799 --> 00:14:50.559
Well, God killed you.
236
00:14:51.480 --> 00:14:55.480
They say the owl was a baker's daughter. Lord, we
237
00:14:55.679 --> 00:14:58.480
know what we are, but know not what we may be.
238
00:14:59.440 --> 00:15:02.679
God be at your table conceit upon her father.
239
00:15:03.480 --> 00:15:03.879
Pray you.
240
00:15:04.559 --> 00:15:05.200
Let's have no.
241
00:15:05.200 --> 00:15:08.240
Words of this. But when they ask you what it means,
242
00:15:08.720 --> 00:15:15.720
say you, this tomorrow is Saint Valentine's day. All in
243
00:15:15.840 --> 00:15:20.879
the morning be time, and I a maid at your
244
00:15:21.080 --> 00:15:30.039
window to be your Valentine. Then appros and donned his
245
00:15:30.440 --> 00:15:34.240
clothes and dubbed the chamber door.
246
00:15:35.919 --> 00:15:38.960
Let in the maid that out.
247
00:15:39.000 --> 00:15:43.919
A maid never departed.
248
00:15:45.000 --> 00:15:47.600
More pretty, Ophelia.
249
00:15:48.320 --> 00:15:53.399
Indeed, law without an oath, I'll make an end on it,
250
00:15:54.080 --> 00:16:00.279
by guess and by Saint Charity. A lack, and by
251
00:16:00.600 --> 00:16:06.200
for shame. Young men will do it if they come
252
00:16:06.399 --> 00:16:13.000
to it, my cock, they are too blame cou she
253
00:16:13.879 --> 00:16:22.360
before you tumbled me, You promised me toward so wod
254
00:16:22.600 --> 00:16:29.200
I adne by hoonder son, And thou hast not come
255
00:16:29.519 --> 00:16:31.159
to my bed?
256
00:16:32.279 --> 00:16:33.679
How long hath she been?
257
00:16:33.799 --> 00:16:34.320
Thus?
258
00:16:34.960 --> 00:16:38.360
I hope all will be well. We must be patient,
259
00:16:39.000 --> 00:16:41.840
but I cannot choose. But weep to think they should
260
00:16:41.879 --> 00:16:45.320
lay him in the cold ground. My brother shall know
261
00:16:45.399 --> 00:16:49.440
of it, and so I thank you for your good counsel. Come,
262
00:16:49.480 --> 00:16:55.519
my coach. Good night, ladies, good night, sweet ladies, good night,
263
00:16:56.600 --> 00:16:57.240
good night.
264
00:16:58.120 --> 00:17:01.240
Exit, follow her close, give her good watch.
265
00:17:01.279 --> 00:17:03.759
I pray you exit, Horatio.
266
00:17:04.559 --> 00:17:08.799
Oh, this is the poison of deep grief. It springs
267
00:17:08.839 --> 00:17:14.839
all from her father's death. Oh, Gertrude, Gertrude, When sorrows come,
268
00:17:14.920 --> 00:17:20.079
they come not single spies, but in battalions. First her
269
00:17:20.119 --> 00:17:24.799
father slain, Next your son gone, and he most violent
270
00:17:24.880 --> 00:17:28.839
author of his own. Just remove the people, muddied, thick
271
00:17:28.880 --> 00:17:32.400
and unwholesome in their thoughts and whispers for good Polonius's death.
272
00:17:33.519 --> 00:17:36.200
And we have done but greenly in hugger, mugger, to
273
00:17:36.279 --> 00:17:40.960
inter him. Poor Ophelia divided from herself and her fair judgment,
274
00:17:41.640 --> 00:17:45.960
without the which we are pictures or mere beasts. Last,
275
00:17:46.160 --> 00:17:49.440
and as much containing as all these, her brother is
276
00:17:49.480 --> 00:17:53.079
in secret, come from France, feeds on his wonder, keeps
277
00:17:53.160 --> 00:17:56.240
himself in clouds, and wants not buzzers to infect his
278
00:17:56.319 --> 00:18:00.279
ear with pestilent speeches of his father's death. They're in
279
00:18:00.359 --> 00:18:04.039
necessity of matter, beggard. Will nothing stick our person to
280
00:18:04.119 --> 00:18:08.160
a reign in ear and ear, Oh, my dear Gertrude,
281
00:18:08.359 --> 00:18:11.440
This like to a murdering piece in many places, gives
282
00:18:11.480 --> 00:18:13.000
me superfluous death.
283
00:18:13.640 --> 00:18:16.759
A noise within lack? What noise is this?
284
00:18:17.480 --> 00:18:19.799
Where are my switzers? Let them guard the door?
285
00:18:20.559 --> 00:18:23.400
Enter another, gentleman, What is the matter?
286
00:18:24.319 --> 00:18:28.920
Save yourself, my lord? The ocean overpeering of his list
287
00:18:29.200 --> 00:18:33.200
eats not the flats with more impetuous haste than young
288
00:18:33.319 --> 00:18:38.839
laats in a riotous head, or bears your officers the
289
00:18:38.960 --> 00:18:42.759
rabble call him lord, and as the world. When now
290
00:18:42.880 --> 00:18:47.960
but to begin antiquity for good custom not known? The
291
00:18:48.240 --> 00:18:53.559
ratifiers and props of every word, they cry, choose, we
292
00:18:54.200 --> 00:18:59.720
laiatis shall be king, caps, hands and tongues applaud it
293
00:18:59.759 --> 00:19:05.039
to clouds. Laiatis shall be king, Laatis king?
294
00:19:06.319 --> 00:19:10.160
How cheerfully on the false trail? I cry, Oh, this
295
00:19:10.240 --> 00:19:13.079
is counter you false danus dogs.
296
00:19:13.599 --> 00:19:14.839
The doors are broke.
297
00:19:15.359 --> 00:19:21.920
Noise within enter layer tes armed danes following, Where is
298
00:19:21.960 --> 00:19:22.480
this king?
299
00:19:23.920 --> 00:19:24.160
Sir?
300
00:19:24.359 --> 00:19:25.799
Stand you all without.
301
00:19:26.279 --> 00:19:28.039
No Let's let me go in.
302
00:19:28.920 --> 00:19:30.400
I pray you give me leave.
303
00:19:31.279 --> 00:19:34.039
We will, we will, we will will.
304
00:19:34.480 --> 00:19:36.160
They retire without the door?
305
00:19:36.680 --> 00:19:41.240
I thank you keep the door, Oh, thou vile king, give.
306
00:19:41.079 --> 00:19:44.799
Me my father calmly good, Laertes, that.
307
00:19:44.880 --> 00:19:48.759
Drop of blood, that's calm, proclaims me, bastard christ cockled
308
00:19:48.799 --> 00:19:51.720
to my father. Brand's a harlot even here between the
309
00:19:51.839 --> 00:19:54.200
chaste and smirched brow of my true mother?
310
00:19:54.880 --> 00:19:57.799
What is the cause? Layer ties that thy rebellion looks
311
00:19:57.799 --> 00:20:01.960
so giant like? Let him go, Gertrude, do not fear
312
00:20:02.039 --> 00:20:05.480
our person. They such divinity doth hedge a king that
313
00:20:05.599 --> 00:20:08.839
treason can but peep to what it would acts little
314
00:20:08.960 --> 00:20:14.079
of his will? Tell me, Laertes, why thou art thus incensed?
315
00:20:15.079 --> 00:20:18.519
Let him go, Gertrude, speak man.
316
00:20:18.799 --> 00:20:20.880
Where is my father dead?
317
00:20:21.519 --> 00:20:22.480
But not by him?
318
00:20:23.279 --> 00:20:25.079
Let him demand his fill?
319
00:20:25.720 --> 00:20:28.799
How came he dead? I'll not be juggled with to
320
00:20:28.920 --> 00:20:32.519
hell allegiance bows to the blackestteval conscience, and grace to
321
00:20:32.559 --> 00:20:36.240
the profoundest pit. I dare damnation to this point. I
322
00:20:36.319 --> 00:20:39.559
stand that both the worlds I give to negligence. Let
323
00:20:39.599 --> 00:20:43.759
come what comes. Only I'll be revenged most storly for.
324
00:20:43.920 --> 00:20:47.920
My father, who shall stay you, My will not all
325
00:20:47.960 --> 00:20:48.640
the world.
326
00:20:49.039 --> 00:20:51.440
And for my means I'll husband them so well they
327
00:20:51.480 --> 00:20:54.640
shall go far with little good Laertes.
328
00:20:54.839 --> 00:20:57.000
If you desire to know the certainty of your dear
329
00:20:57.119 --> 00:21:00.920
father's death, ist writ in your revenge that swoop steak
330
00:21:01.000 --> 00:21:04.039
you will draw both friend and foe, winner.
331
00:21:03.799 --> 00:21:06.400
And loser, none but his enemies.
332
00:21:07.039 --> 00:21:07.960
Will you know them?
333
00:21:08.039 --> 00:21:10.960
Then to his good friends as wild that I'll open
334
00:21:10.960 --> 00:21:14.519
my arms and, like the kind life rendering Pelican, repast
335
00:21:14.559 --> 00:21:15.559
them with my blood.
336
00:21:16.119 --> 00:21:19.160
Why now you speak, like a good child and a
337
00:21:19.240 --> 00:21:23.559
true gentleman, that I am guiltless of your father's death,
338
00:21:23.559 --> 00:21:27.400
and a most sensible and grief for it. It shall
339
00:21:27.440 --> 00:21:30.599
as level to your judgment, Pierce, as day does to
340
00:21:30.680 --> 00:21:34.160
your eye.
341
00:21:34.160 --> 00:21:35.680
Oh now what noise.
342
00:21:35.440 --> 00:21:37.720
Is that re enter Ophelia.
343
00:21:38.279 --> 00:21:41.599
Oh he'd dry up my brains tea seven times salt,
344
00:21:41.799 --> 00:21:45.039
burn out the sense and virtue of mine eye by heaven.
345
00:21:45.119 --> 00:21:47.839
Thy manners shall be paid by weight till our scale
346
00:21:47.920 --> 00:21:52.880
turned the beam a rose of may, dear made kind sister,
347
00:21:53.039 --> 00:21:57.640
sweet Ophelia, Oh, Heaven's is possible. A young maid's wits
348
00:21:57.640 --> 00:22:00.240
should be as moral as an old man's love life.
349
00:22:01.160 --> 00:22:05.920
Nature is fine love, and where tis fine, it sends
350
00:22:05.920 --> 00:22:10.160
some precious instance of itself after the thing it loves.
351
00:22:11.079 --> 00:22:17.559
They bore him bear faced on the beer, Hey nan Nanni, Nanny,
352
00:22:17.720 --> 00:22:22.920
hey Nani, And in his gray reigned many a tear
353
00:22:23.920 --> 00:22:24.519
fair you.
354
00:22:24.880 --> 00:22:26.440
Well, my DoD.
355
00:22:27.680 --> 00:22:30.920
Hadst thou thy wits, and didst persuade revenge. It could
356
00:22:30.920 --> 00:22:31.400
not move.
357
00:22:31.480 --> 00:22:35.200
Thus you must sing a down a down, and you
358
00:22:35.799 --> 00:22:41.079
call him a downa Oh, how the wheel becomes it?
359
00:22:41.079 --> 00:22:41.640
It is the.
360
00:22:41.680 --> 00:22:45.519
False steward that stole his master's daughter.
361
00:22:46.480 --> 00:22:47.920
Is nothing's more than matter.
362
00:22:48.519 --> 00:22:56.480
There's rosemary that's for remembrance, pray, love, remember, And then
363
00:22:56.599 --> 00:23:00.680
there's pansies that's for thoughts.
364
00:23:00.960 --> 00:23:03.440
Document in madness, thoughts and remembrance.
365
00:23:03.519 --> 00:23:09.359
Fitted there's fennel for you and columbines. There's rue for you,
366
00:23:09.960 --> 00:23:13.440
and here's some for me. We may call it herb
367
00:23:13.559 --> 00:23:17.039
grace of Sundays. Oh, you must weigh your rooe with
368
00:23:17.079 --> 00:23:17.640
the difference.
369
00:23:18.279 --> 00:23:19.119
There's a daisy.
370
00:23:19.759 --> 00:23:22.640
I would give you some violets, but they withered all.
371
00:23:22.759 --> 00:23:26.400
When my father died, they say he made a good end.
372
00:23:27.319 --> 00:23:29.720
Poor bonny, sweet Robin.
373
00:23:30.480 --> 00:23:36.240
He is all my joy, thought, an affliction, passion, hell itself.
374
00:23:36.559 --> 00:23:39.640
She turns to favor and to prettiness.
375
00:23:39.799 --> 00:23:49.200
And really not comgain and really not camagain.
376
00:23:50.880 --> 00:23:54.559
No, no, he's dead.
377
00:23:55.359 --> 00:24:03.400
Go to the dead bird. He never will come again.
378
00:24:04.440 --> 00:24:08.680
His beard was as white as know.
379
00:24:10.359 --> 00:24:13.599
All phlagsin.
380
00:24:14.000 --> 00:24:18.119
Was his ball. He is gone.
381
00:24:19.160 --> 00:24:24.359
He is gone, And do we cast away?
382
00:24:25.240 --> 00:24:33.839
Moan, God, have mercy on his soul and of all
383
00:24:34.480 --> 00:24:36.440
Christian souls.
384
00:24:37.000 --> 00:24:41.799
I pray God, God be.
385
00:24:44.359 --> 00:24:44.720
Exit.
386
00:24:45.640 --> 00:24:47.799
Do you see this, oh God.
387
00:24:48.119 --> 00:24:51.480
Laerties, I must commune with your grief, or you deny me. Right,
388
00:24:52.279 --> 00:24:55.839
Go but apart, make choice of whom your wisest friends
389
00:24:55.920 --> 00:24:59.160
you will, and they shall hear and judge TwixT you
390
00:24:59.200 --> 00:25:02.599
and me. If by direct or by collateral hand, they
391
00:25:02.640 --> 00:25:05.839
find us touched, we will our kingdom, give our crown,
392
00:25:06.000 --> 00:25:08.640
our life, and all that we can ours to you
393
00:25:08.920 --> 00:25:13.880
in satisfaction. But if not, be you content to lend
394
00:25:13.920 --> 00:25:17.000
your patience to us, and we shall jointly labor with
395
00:25:17.079 --> 00:25:18.920
your soul to give it due content.
396
00:25:19.759 --> 00:25:23.880
Let this be so his means of death, his obscure funeral,
397
00:25:24.200 --> 00:25:27.599
No trophies swore, no hatchment or his bones, no noble
398
00:25:27.720 --> 00:25:31.519
right nor formal ostentation. Cry to be heard, as twere
399
00:25:31.599 --> 00:25:34.680
from heaven to earth that I must call it in question.
400
00:25:35.480 --> 00:25:38.759
So you shall, and where the offenses, let the great
401
00:25:38.799 --> 00:25:41.519
axe fall. I pray you go with me.
402
00:25:42.319 --> 00:25:49.359
Exeunt Scene six. Another room in the castle. Enter Horatio
403
00:25:49.920 --> 00:25:50.759
and a servant.
404
00:25:51.519 --> 00:25:53.039
What are they that would speak with me?
405
00:25:53.759 --> 00:25:57.440
Sailors, sir? They say they have letters for you.
406
00:25:57.759 --> 00:26:02.160
Let them come in exit. I do not know from
407
00:26:02.160 --> 00:26:04.200
what part of the world I should be greeted, if
408
00:26:04.200 --> 00:26:07.200
not from Lord Hamlet enter, sailors.
409
00:26:07.759 --> 00:26:08.960
God bless you, sir.
410
00:26:09.480 --> 00:26:10.640
Let him bless thee too.
411
00:26:11.319 --> 00:26:15.920
He shall, sir, and please him. There's a letter for you, sir.
412
00:26:16.559 --> 00:26:19.319
It comes from the ambassador that was bound for England.
413
00:26:19.799 --> 00:26:23.039
If your name be Horatio, as I am, let to know.
414
00:26:23.039 --> 00:26:28.720
It is read Horatio. When thou shalt have overlooked this,
415
00:26:29.519 --> 00:26:32.519
give these fellows some means to the king. They have
416
00:26:32.640 --> 00:26:35.920
letters for him. Ere we were two days old at sea,
417
00:26:36.640 --> 00:26:40.839
a pirate of very warlike appointment gave us chase. Finding
418
00:26:40.880 --> 00:26:44.759
ourselves too slow of sail, we put on a compelled valor,
419
00:26:45.079 --> 00:26:47.680
and in the grapple I boarded them on the instant
420
00:26:47.720 --> 00:26:50.279
they got clear of our ship, so I alone became
421
00:26:50.319 --> 00:26:53.519
their prisoner. They have dealt with me like thieves of mercy,
422
00:26:53.839 --> 00:26:56.079
but they knew what they did. I am to do
423
00:26:56.160 --> 00:26:59.079
a good turn for them. Let the king have the
424
00:26:59.160 --> 00:27:02.039
letters I have sent, and repair thou to me with
425
00:27:02.119 --> 00:27:05.200
as much speed as thou wouldst fly death. I have
426
00:27:05.279 --> 00:27:08.079
words to speak in thine ear will make THEE dumb?
427
00:27:08.480 --> 00:27:10.640
Yet are they much too light for the bore of
428
00:27:10.680 --> 00:27:13.799
the matter. These good fellows will bring thee where I am.
429
00:27:14.880 --> 00:27:18.759
Rosenkrantz and Guildenstern hold their course for England. Of them
430
00:27:18.799 --> 00:27:23.119
I have much to tell thee. Farewell he that knowest
431
00:27:23.160 --> 00:27:27.119
thine Hamlet come. I will make you way for these
432
00:27:27.119 --> 00:27:29.680
your letters, and do it the speedier that you may
433
00:27:29.680 --> 00:27:31.559
direct me to him from whom you brought them.
434
00:27:32.079 --> 00:27:38.359
Exellunt scene seven. Another room in the castle. Enter, King
435
00:27:38.480 --> 00:27:40.319
Clodius and layer Ties.
436
00:27:41.079 --> 00:27:44.519
Now must your conscience, my acquaintance, seal, and you must
437
00:27:44.599 --> 00:27:47.720
put me in your heart, for friend sith you have heard,
438
00:27:47.759 --> 00:27:50.079
and with a knowing ear that he which hath your
439
00:27:50.119 --> 00:27:52.640
noble father slain, pursued my life.
440
00:27:53.160 --> 00:27:56.640
It well appears. But tell me why you proceeded not
441
00:27:56.839 --> 00:28:00.440
against these feats, so crimeful and so capital in nature,
442
00:28:00.599 --> 00:28:04.160
as by your safety wisdom, all things else you mainly
443
00:28:04.200 --> 00:28:04.920
were stirred up.
444
00:28:05.440 --> 00:28:08.759
Oh, for two special reasons, which may to you perhaps
445
00:28:08.759 --> 00:28:12.480
seem much unsinewed, but yet to me they are strong.
446
00:28:13.680 --> 00:28:18.039
The Queen his mother lives almost by his looks, and
447
00:28:18.079 --> 00:28:21.559
for myself my virtue or my plague be it either,
448
00:28:21.599 --> 00:28:25.640
which she is so conjunctive to my life and soul,
449
00:28:26.480 --> 00:28:29.119
that as the star moves not but in his sphere,
450
00:28:30.200 --> 00:28:34.640
I could not but by her. The other motive why
451
00:28:34.720 --> 00:28:37.319
to a public count I might not go, is the
452
00:28:37.319 --> 00:28:40.960
great love the general gender bear, him who, dipping all
453
00:28:40.960 --> 00:28:44.160
his faults in their affection, would like the spring that
454
00:28:44.279 --> 00:28:48.680
turneth wood to stone, convert his gibes to graces, so
455
00:28:48.799 --> 00:28:51.880
that my arrows, too slightly timbered, for so loud a wind,
456
00:28:51.880 --> 00:28:54.559
would have reverted to my bow again, and not where
457
00:28:54.559 --> 00:28:55.799
I had aimed them.
458
00:28:56.240 --> 00:28:59.279
And so have I a noble father lost assist her,
459
00:28:59.359 --> 00:29:02.720
driven into desperate terms, whose worth, if praises, may go
460
00:29:02.839 --> 00:29:05.839
back again, Sir challenger on mount of all the age
461
00:29:05.880 --> 00:29:09.720
for her perfections. But my revenge will come.
462
00:29:10.240 --> 00:29:13.400
Break not your sleeps. For that you must not think
463
00:29:13.440 --> 00:29:15.440
that we are made of stuff so flat and dull
464
00:29:15.480 --> 00:29:17.799
that we can let our beard be shook with danger
465
00:29:17.839 --> 00:29:22.720
and think it pastime. You shortly shall hear more. I
466
00:29:22.960 --> 00:29:27.240
loved your father, and we love ourself, and that I
467
00:29:27.319 --> 00:29:28.839
hope will teach you to imagine.
468
00:29:29.559 --> 00:29:32.440
Enter a messenger, how now what news?
469
00:29:33.119 --> 00:29:36.559
Let us my lord from Hamlet? This to your majesty,
470
00:29:37.119 --> 00:29:38.160
This to the queen.
471
00:29:38.480 --> 00:29:41.839
From Hamlet who brought them sailors?
472
00:29:41.880 --> 00:29:42.319
My lord?
473
00:29:42.519 --> 00:29:45.799
They say I saw them not? They were given me
474
00:29:45.839 --> 00:29:50.000
by Claudio. He received them of him that brought them layerities.
475
00:29:50.000 --> 00:29:52.000
You shall hear them leave.
476
00:29:51.920 --> 00:29:56.279
Us exit, messenger, reads.
477
00:29:56.319 --> 00:29:59.960
High and mighty. You shall know I am set naked
478
00:30:00.119 --> 00:30:03.519
kid on your kingdom. Tomorrow shall I beg leave to
479
00:30:03.519 --> 00:30:08.079
see your kingly eyes? When I shall first asking your pardon?
480
00:30:08.119 --> 00:30:12.440
Thereunto recount the occasion of my sudden and more strange
481
00:30:12.599 --> 00:30:18.440
return Hamlet, What should this mean? Or all the rest
482
00:30:18.480 --> 00:30:21.839
come back? Or is it some abuse? And no such thing?
483
00:30:22.480 --> 00:30:22.799
Know you?
484
00:30:22.880 --> 00:30:29.079
The hand tis Hamlet's character naked, and in a PostScript
485
00:30:29.119 --> 00:30:32.200
here he says alone, can you advise me?
486
00:30:32.920 --> 00:30:35.519
I am lost in it, my lord, But let him come.
487
00:30:36.119 --> 00:30:39.039
It warms a very sickness in my heart that I
488
00:30:39.119 --> 00:30:42.880
shall live and tell him to his teeth. Thus didst thou?
489
00:30:43.799 --> 00:30:47.160
If it be so, layer tes as, how should it
490
00:30:47.240 --> 00:30:51.160
be so? How otherwise will you be ruled by me?
491
00:30:51.960 --> 00:30:52.119
Ay?
492
00:30:52.279 --> 00:30:55.200
My lord? So you will not o'er rule me to
493
00:30:55.279 --> 00:30:55.960
a peace.
494
00:30:56.480 --> 00:31:00.279
To thine own peace. If he be now returned as
495
00:31:00.359 --> 00:31:02.799
checking at his voyage, and that he means no more
496
00:31:02.839 --> 00:31:06.160
to undertake it, I will work him to an exploit
497
00:31:06.839 --> 00:31:10.000
now ripe in my device, under the which he shall
498
00:31:10.039 --> 00:31:14.359
not choose but fall, and for his death no wind
499
00:31:14.400 --> 00:31:17.920
of blame shall breathe, but even his mother shall uncharge
500
00:31:17.960 --> 00:31:20.400
the practice and call it accident.
501
00:31:21.079 --> 00:31:23.559
My Lord, I will be ruled the rather, if you
502
00:31:23.599 --> 00:31:26.559
could devise it so that I might be the organ.
503
00:31:26.920 --> 00:31:30.359
It falls right. You have been talked of since your
504
00:31:30.400 --> 00:31:35.319
travel much, and that in Hamlet's hearing for Equality, wherein
505
00:31:35.359 --> 00:31:38.519
they say you shine your sum of parts did not
506
00:31:38.680 --> 00:31:42.000
together pluck such envy from him as did that one.
507
00:31:42.839 --> 00:31:46.200
And that in my regard of the unworthiest.
508
00:31:45.480 --> 00:31:47.960
Siege, what part is that, my lord?
509
00:31:48.480 --> 00:31:52.359
A very Riband in the cap of youth, yet needful too,
510
00:31:52.519 --> 00:31:55.640
for youth no less becomes the light and careless livery
511
00:31:55.720 --> 00:31:58.880
that it wears than settled age, his sables and his weeds,
512
00:31:58.920 --> 00:32:03.680
importing health and greatness. Two months since here was a
513
00:32:03.720 --> 00:32:07.519
gentleman of Normandy. I've seen myself and served against the French,
514
00:32:07.519 --> 00:32:11.160
and they can well on horseback. But this gallant had
515
00:32:11.240 --> 00:32:16.079
witchcraft in He grew under his seat, and to such
516
00:32:16.160 --> 00:32:19.279
wondrous doing brought his horse as he had been encorpsed,
517
00:32:19.279 --> 00:32:22.920
and DEMI natured with the brave beast. So far he
518
00:32:23.119 --> 00:32:27.400
topped my thought that I, in forgery of shapes and tricks,
519
00:32:27.480 --> 00:32:29.039
come short of what he did.
520
00:32:29.559 --> 00:32:33.279
A Norman wast a Norman upon my life.
521
00:32:33.519 --> 00:32:37.480
Le Monde the very same, I know him well.
522
00:32:37.640 --> 00:32:40.279
He is the brute, indeed, and gem of all the nation.
523
00:32:41.200 --> 00:32:44.279
He made confession of you, and gave you such a
524
00:32:44.400 --> 00:32:48.279
masterly report for art and exercise in your defense and
525
00:32:48.359 --> 00:32:52.519
for your rapier. Most especially that he cried out, twould
526
00:32:52.559 --> 00:32:55.799
be a sight. Indeed, if one could match you. The
527
00:32:55.839 --> 00:32:58.640
scrimers of their nation, he swore, had had neither motion,
528
00:32:58.880 --> 00:33:02.960
guard nor eye. If you opposed them, sir, this report
529
00:33:03.000 --> 00:33:05.880
of his did hamlet so envenom with his envy, that
530
00:33:05.920 --> 00:33:08.640
he could nothing do but wish and beg your sudden
531
00:33:08.680 --> 00:33:12.359
coming oar to play with him. Now out of this?
532
00:33:13.400 --> 00:33:14.960
What out of this, my lord.
533
00:33:15.319 --> 00:33:20.759
Laerties, was your father dear to you? Or are you
534
00:33:20.960 --> 00:33:24.559
like the painting of a sorrow a face without a heart.
535
00:33:25.240 --> 00:33:28.480
I ask you this, not that I think you did
536
00:33:28.480 --> 00:33:31.519
not love your father, but that I know love is
537
00:33:31.559 --> 00:33:35.480
begun by time, and that I see in passages of
538
00:33:35.559 --> 00:33:39.680
proof time qualifies the spark and fire of it. There
539
00:33:39.680 --> 00:33:42.119
lives within the very flame of love a kind of
540
00:33:42.200 --> 00:33:45.799
wick or snuff that will abate it. And nothing is
541
00:33:45.920 --> 00:33:49.640
at a like goodness still, for goodness growing to a
542
00:33:49.640 --> 00:33:53.640
pleurisy dies in his own too much that we would do,
543
00:33:53.759 --> 00:33:57.920
we should do when we would. For this wood changes
544
00:33:57.960 --> 00:34:01.039
and hath abatements and delays as many as there are tongues,
545
00:34:01.119 --> 00:34:06.240
our hands, our accidents. And then this should is like
546
00:34:06.279 --> 00:34:11.599
a spendthrift sigh that hurts by easing. But to the
547
00:34:11.679 --> 00:34:15.840
quick of the ulcer hamlet comes back. What would you
548
00:34:15.920 --> 00:34:19.800
undertake to show yourself your father's son, indeed, more than
549
00:34:19.800 --> 00:34:21.480
in words.
550
00:34:21.119 --> 00:34:22.880
To cut his throat at the church?
551
00:34:23.679 --> 00:34:29.800
No place indeed should murder sanctuarize revenge should have no bounds,
552
00:34:30.920 --> 00:34:34.639
but good layer ties. Will you do this, keep close
553
00:34:34.679 --> 00:34:39.039
within your chamber hamlet return shall know you are come home.
554
00:34:40.039 --> 00:34:42.679
We'll put on those shall praise your excellence, and set
555
00:34:42.719 --> 00:34:45.119
a double varnish on the fame the Frenchman gave you.
556
00:34:45.760 --> 00:34:49.639
Bring in fine together and wager on your heads. He
557
00:34:50.039 --> 00:34:53.599
being remiss, most generous and free from all contriving, will
558
00:34:53.639 --> 00:34:57.199
not peruse the foils, So that with ease or a
559
00:34:57.239 --> 00:35:01.079
little shuffling, you may choose a sword unbaked, and in
560
00:35:01.119 --> 00:35:03.960
a pass of practice, requite him for your father.
561
00:35:05.039 --> 00:35:08.760
I will do it, and for that purpose I'll anoint
562
00:35:08.840 --> 00:35:12.840
my sword. I bought an unction of a mountebank so
563
00:35:13.000 --> 00:35:15.719
mortal that but dip a knife in it where it
564
00:35:15.800 --> 00:35:20.280
draws blood. No cataplasm so rare collected from all simples
565
00:35:20.320 --> 00:35:23.079
that have virtue under the moon, can save the thing
566
00:35:23.119 --> 00:35:26.280
from death that is but scratched withal. I'll touch my
567
00:35:26.320 --> 00:35:29.320
point with this contagion, that if I gall him slightly,
568
00:35:29.400 --> 00:35:30.280
it may be death.
569
00:35:31.079 --> 00:35:34.800
Let's further think of this, weigh what convenience, both of
570
00:35:34.840 --> 00:35:38.320
time and means, may fit us to our shape. If
571
00:35:38.360 --> 00:35:41.199
this should fail, and that our drift, look through our
572
00:35:41.280 --> 00:35:44.880
bad performance. T we're better not a sayed. Therefore this
573
00:35:45.039 --> 00:35:47.880
project should have a back or second that might hold
574
00:35:47.920 --> 00:35:52.880
if this should blast in proof soft let me see,
575
00:35:53.199 --> 00:35:56.960
We'll make a solemn wager on your cunnings. I hat
576
00:35:57.440 --> 00:35:59.800
when in your motion you are hot and dry, as
577
00:35:59.840 --> 00:36:02.400
make your bouts more violent. To that end, and that
578
00:36:02.480 --> 00:36:06.079
he calls for drink, I'll have prepared him a chalice
579
00:36:06.119 --> 00:36:09.360
for the nonce whereon but sipping. If he by chance
580
00:36:09.480 --> 00:36:12.760
escape your venomed stock, our purpose may hold.
581
00:36:12.880 --> 00:36:18.360
There, Enter Queen Gertrude, How now, sweet Queen, one woe
582
00:36:18.400 --> 00:36:23.960
doth tread upon another's heel so fast they follow your
583
00:36:24.000 --> 00:36:30.480
sister's drowned laertes drowned. Oh, where there is a willow
584
00:36:30.559 --> 00:36:34.159
grows a slant of brook that shows his whole leaves,
585
00:36:34.159 --> 00:36:40.079
and the glassy stream there with fantastic garlands. Did she
586
00:36:40.199 --> 00:36:46.000
come of crow flowers, nettles, daisies, and long purples that
587
00:36:46.199 --> 00:36:50.239
liberal shepherds give a grosser name. But our cold maids
588
00:36:50.440 --> 00:36:54.719
do dead men's fingers call them. There on a pendent
589
00:36:54.880 --> 00:37:01.280
boughs her coronet weeds clambering to hang an envious sliver
590
00:37:01.360 --> 00:37:06.519
broke when down her weedy trophies, and herself fell in
591
00:37:06.559 --> 00:37:11.960
the weeping brook, her clothes spread wide and mermaid like
592
00:37:12.400 --> 00:37:16.280
a while they bore her up, which time she chanted
593
00:37:16.320 --> 00:37:21.079
snatches of old tunes, as one incapable of her own distress,
594
00:37:21.800 --> 00:37:25.599
or like a creature native, and endued unto that element.
595
00:37:27.000 --> 00:37:30.400
But long it could not be till that her garments,
596
00:37:30.840 --> 00:37:34.280
heavy with their drink, pulled the poor wretch from her
597
00:37:34.280 --> 00:37:36.599
melodious lay to muddy death.
598
00:37:37.559 --> 00:37:43.079
Less than she is drowned, drowned, drowned too much of water.
599
00:37:43.280 --> 00:37:47.519
Hast thou, poor Ophelia, And therefore I forbid my tears.
600
00:37:47.519 --> 00:37:51.280
But yet it is our trick nature her custom holds.
601
00:37:52.000 --> 00:37:54.679
Let shame say what it will. When these are gone,
602
00:37:55.199 --> 00:37:58.599
the woman will be out. Adieu, my lord. I have
603
00:37:58.679 --> 00:38:01.679
a speech of fire that vain would blaze, but that
604
00:38:01.840 --> 00:38:04.880
this volley doubts it exit.
605
00:38:06.119 --> 00:38:09.360
Let's follow Gertrude, how much I had to do to
606
00:38:09.480 --> 00:38:12.679
calm his rage. Now fear I this will give its
607
00:38:12.679 --> 00:38:13.280
start again.
608
00:38:14.199 --> 00:38:20.880
Therefore let's follow exeunt end of Act four
1
00:00:00.840 --> 00:00:05.240
Act for of Hamlet by William Shakespeare. This is a
2
00:00:05.280 --> 00:00:10.199

4
00:00:18.000 --> 00:00:23.440
Act for Scene one a room in the castle. Enter
5
00:00:23.600 --> 00:00:28.480
King Claudius, Queen Gertrude, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.
6
00:00:29.320 --> 00:00:34.560
There's matter in these size, these profound heaves. You must
7
00:00:34.759 --> 00:00:39.640
translate tis fit we understand them. Where is your son?
8
00:00:40.399 --> 00:00:42.600
Bestow this place on us a little while?
9
00:00:43.159 --> 00:00:47.799
Exeunt Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Ah, My good lord, what have
10
00:00:47.880 --> 00:00:48.679
I seen to night?
11
00:00:49.560 --> 00:00:50.719
What Gertrude?
12
00:00:51.119 --> 00:00:55.240
How does Hamlet mad as the sea and wind when
13
00:00:55.320 --> 00:00:59.479
both contend, which is the mightier? In his lawless fit?
14
00:01:00.079 --> 00:01:04.040
Behind the arras hearing something stir whips out, his rapier
15
00:01:04.680 --> 00:01:09.239
cries a rat, a rat, and in this brainish apprehension
16
00:01:10.280 --> 00:01:11.879
kills the unseen good old man.
17
00:01:12.840 --> 00:01:17.079
Oh, heavy deed, it had been so with us, had
18
00:01:17.120 --> 00:01:20.719
we been there. His liberty is full of threats to all,
19
00:01:21.159 --> 00:01:25.719
to you, yourself, to us, to every one. Alas, how
20
00:01:25.760 --> 00:01:29.040
shall this bloody deed be answered? It will be laid
21
00:01:29.040 --> 00:01:32.239
to us whose providence should have kept short, restrained, and
22
00:01:32.319 --> 00:01:36.640
out of haunt this mad young man. But so much
23
00:01:36.840 --> 00:01:40.359
was our love we would not understand what was most fit.
24
00:01:41.439 --> 00:01:44.000
But like the owner of a foul disease, to keep
25
00:01:44.079 --> 00:01:46.760
it from divulging, let it feed even on the pith
26
00:01:46.799 --> 00:01:47.959
of life.
27
00:01:48.280 --> 00:01:51.280
Where is he gone to draw apart the body he
28
00:01:51.359 --> 00:01:56.000
hath killed, or whom his very madness, like some ore
29
00:01:56.200 --> 00:01:59.519
among a mineral of metal's base, shows itself pure.
30
00:02:00.599 --> 00:02:03.319
He waits for what is done.
31
00:02:02.719 --> 00:02:05.840
Oh, Gertrude, come away the sun. No sooner shall the
32
00:02:05.840 --> 00:02:08.680
mountains touch. But we will ship him Hence, and this
33
00:02:08.919 --> 00:02:11.759
vile deed we must, with all our majesty and skill,
34
00:02:11.800 --> 00:02:16.719
both countenance and excuse. Ho, Guildenstern re.
35
00:02:16.919 --> 00:02:20.199
Enter Rosenkrantz and Guildenstern.
36
00:02:20.159 --> 00:02:23.560
Friends, both go join you with some further aid. Hamlet
37
00:02:23.599 --> 00:02:27.280
in madness hath Polonius slain, and from his mother's closet
38
00:02:27.319 --> 00:02:30.960
hath he dragged him. Go seek him out, Speak fair,
39
00:02:31.080 --> 00:02:35.199
and bring the body into the chapel. I pray you haste.
40
00:02:34.919 --> 00:02:39.840
In this exeant Rosencrantz and Guildenstern come.
41
00:02:39.879 --> 00:02:42.479
Gertrude, will call up our wisest friends and let them
42
00:02:42.520 --> 00:02:46.719
know both what we mean to do? And what's untimely done? O?
43
00:02:46.840 --> 00:02:50.719
Come away? My soul is full of discord and.
44
00:02:50.680 --> 00:02:59.199
Dismay exeant scene too, another room in the castle. Enter Hamlet,
45
00:03:00.199 --> 00:03:04.479
safely stowed Hamlet, Lord Lord Hamlet.
46
00:03:04.919 --> 00:03:06.680
What noise? Who calls on Hamlet?
47
00:03:07.120 --> 00:03:07.319
Oh?
48
00:03:07.439 --> 00:03:08.080
Here they come?
49
00:03:08.879 --> 00:03:11.159
Enter Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.
50
00:03:11.800 --> 00:03:13.639
What have you done, my lord? With the dead body?
51
00:03:14.199 --> 00:03:16.319
Compounded it with dust? Where to tis kin?
52
00:03:16.919 --> 00:03:19.560
Tell us where tis that? We may take evnce and
53
00:03:19.599 --> 00:03:20.520
bear it to the chapel.
54
00:03:21.000 --> 00:03:24.719
Do not believe it? Believe what that I can keep
55
00:03:24.759 --> 00:03:27.919
your counsel in not mine own? Besides to be demanded
56
00:03:27.960 --> 00:03:31.199
of a sponge, what replication should be made by the
57
00:03:31.240 --> 00:03:31.960
son of a king?
58
00:03:32.599 --> 00:03:34.560
Take you me for a sponge, my lord?
59
00:03:35.000 --> 00:03:38.879
Ay, sir? That soaks up the King's countenance, his rewards,
60
00:03:38.919 --> 00:03:43.280
his authorities. But such officers do the king best service.
61
00:03:43.280 --> 00:03:46.000
In the end, he keeps them like an ape in
62
00:03:46.039 --> 00:03:49.439
the corner of his jaw, first mouthed, to be last
63
00:03:49.599 --> 00:03:52.280
swallowed when he needs what you have gleaned. It is
64
00:03:52.319 --> 00:03:55.240
but squeezing you and sponge you shall be dry again.
65
00:03:55.840 --> 00:03:58.319
I understand you not, my lord, I.
66
00:03:58.240 --> 00:04:01.319
Am glad of it. A knavish speech sleeps in a
67
00:04:01.319 --> 00:04:02.120
foolish ear.
68
00:04:02.599 --> 00:04:05.319
My Lord, you must tell us where the body is,
69
00:04:05.639 --> 00:04:06.879
and go with us to the king.
70
00:04:07.400 --> 00:04:09.599
The body is with the king, but the king is
71
00:04:09.639 --> 00:04:13.400
not with the body. The king is a thing, a thing,
72
00:04:13.639 --> 00:04:18.959
my lord of nothing. Bring me to him, Hide Fox
73
00:04:19.000 --> 00:04:19.560
and all.
74
00:04:19.399 --> 00:04:26.680
After exeunt Scene three, another room in the castle. Enter
75
00:04:26.920 --> 00:04:28.959
King Claudius attended.
76
00:04:29.560 --> 00:04:31.759
I have sent to seek him and to find the body.
77
00:04:32.480 --> 00:04:35.839
How dangerous is it that this man goes loose? Yet
78
00:04:35.879 --> 00:04:39.079
must not we put the strong law on him? He's
79
00:04:39.240 --> 00:04:42.879
loved of the distracted multitude, who like not in their
80
00:04:42.959 --> 00:04:46.560
judgment but their eyes. And where tis so? The offender's
81
00:04:46.560 --> 00:04:50.959
scourge is weighed, but never the offense to bear all smooth,
82
00:04:51.040 --> 00:04:54.680
and even this sudden sending him away must seem deliberate.
83
00:04:54.879 --> 00:04:55.240
Pause.
84
00:04:56.199 --> 00:04:59.839
Disease is desperate, grown by desperate appliance. Are relieved or not?
85
00:05:00.079 --> 00:05:02.199
All? Enter Rosencrantz.
86
00:05:02.759 --> 00:05:04.399
How now what hath befallen?
87
00:05:04.839 --> 00:05:07.240
Where the dead body is bestowed? My lord? We cannot
88
00:05:07.240 --> 00:05:10.920
dip from him? But where is he without my lord
89
00:05:11.240 --> 00:05:15.639
guarded to know your pleasure? Bring him before us, Ho Guildenstern,
90
00:05:16.040 --> 00:05:17.240
Bring in, my lord.
91
00:05:17.720 --> 00:05:20.600
Enter Hamlet and Gueldenstern.
92
00:05:20.439 --> 00:05:28.959
Now, Hamlet, where's Polonius at supper? At supper, where not where.
93
00:05:28.720 --> 00:05:32.120
He eats, but where he is eaten, a certain convocation
94
00:05:32.279 --> 00:05:35.720
of politic worms are een at him. Your worm is
95
00:05:35.759 --> 00:05:38.920
your only emperor. For diet. We fat all creatures else
96
00:05:38.959 --> 00:05:42.560
to fat us, and we fat ourselves for maggots. Your
97
00:05:42.600 --> 00:05:45.920
fat king and your lean beggar is but variable service.
98
00:05:46.399 --> 00:05:52.120
Two dishes, but to one table. That's the end. Alas
99
00:05:52.160 --> 00:05:54.959
alas a man may fish with the worm that hath
100
00:05:55.000 --> 00:05:56.839
eat of a king, and cat of the fish that
101
00:05:56.879 --> 00:05:57.879
hath fed of that worm.
102
00:05:58.639 --> 00:06:00.560
What dost you mean by this?
103
00:06:01.399 --> 00:06:04.040
Nothing but to show you how a king may go
104
00:06:04.079 --> 00:06:06.279
a progress through the guts of a beggar.
105
00:06:06.920 --> 00:06:10.439
Where is Polonious in heaven?
106
00:06:11.079 --> 00:06:14.600
Send hither to see. If your messenger find him not there,
107
00:06:14.720 --> 00:06:18.759
seek him in the other place yourself. But indeed, if
108
00:06:18.800 --> 00:06:23.000
you find him not within this month, you shall nose him.
109
00:06:23.040 --> 00:06:25.839
As you go up the stairs into the lobby.
110
00:06:25.879 --> 00:06:28.360
Go seek him there he will stay till you.
111
00:06:28.319 --> 00:06:32.199
Come, excellent attendants, Hamlet.
112
00:06:32.959 --> 00:06:37.360
This deed for thine especial safety, which we do tender,
113
00:06:37.399 --> 00:06:40.040
as we dearly agree for that which thou hast done,
114
00:06:40.720 --> 00:06:45.720
must send thee Hence with fiery quickness. Therefore prepare thyself.
115
00:06:46.319 --> 00:06:49.040
The bark is ready, and the wind at help. The
116
00:06:49.079 --> 00:06:54.040
associates tend, and everything is bent for England, For England,
117
00:06:54.720 --> 00:07:00.199
I Hamlet, good, So is it if thou knewest our purposes.
118
00:07:00.600 --> 00:07:04.439
I see a cherub that sees them. But come for England.
119
00:07:05.120 --> 00:07:09.480
Farewell, dear mother, thy loving father, Hamlet.
120
00:07:09.480 --> 00:07:12.720
My mother father and mother is man and wife. Man
121
00:07:12.759 --> 00:07:16.560
and wife is one flesh, and so my mother come
122
00:07:17.160 --> 00:07:17.759
for England.
123
00:07:18.639 --> 00:07:22.120
Exit, follow him at foot, tempt him with speed aboard.
124
00:07:22.240 --> 00:07:25.879
Delay it not. I'll have him hence to night away,
125
00:07:26.480 --> 00:07:29.000
for everything is sealed and done. That else leans on
126
00:07:29.040 --> 00:07:29.480
the affair.
127
00:07:30.360 --> 00:07:31.199
Pray you make.
128
00:07:31.079 --> 00:07:36.720
Haste exellont Rosencrantz and Guildenstern and England.
129
00:07:37.240 --> 00:07:40.399
If my love thou holdst at aught as my great
130
00:07:40.480 --> 00:07:44.360
power thereof may give thee sense. Since yet thy Sicatrice
131
00:07:44.439 --> 00:07:47.480
looks raw and red after the Danish sword, and thy
132
00:07:47.560 --> 00:07:51.480
free awe pays homage to us, Thou mayst not coldly
133
00:07:51.600 --> 00:07:55.920
set our sovereign process, which imports at full by letters
134
00:07:55.959 --> 00:08:03.120
congruing to that effect the present death of Hamlet. Do it, England,
135
00:08:04.279 --> 00:08:07.079
For like the hectic in my blood he rages, and
136
00:08:07.279 --> 00:08:12.079
thou must cure me till I know tis done. Howe'er
137
00:08:12.160 --> 00:08:14.759
my haaps, my joys were ne'er begun.
138
00:08:15.800 --> 00:08:22.399
Exit seene for a plain in Denmark. Enter Fortinbrass, A
139
00:08:22.519 --> 00:08:25.120
captain and soldiers marching.
140
00:08:25.439 --> 00:08:29.600
Gay captain from me, greet the Danish king, tell him
141
00:08:29.600 --> 00:08:33.720
that by his license, Fortinbrass craves the conveyance of a
142
00:08:33.720 --> 00:08:39.039
promised march over his kingdom, you know, the rendezvous. If
143
00:08:39.039 --> 00:08:42.039
that his Majesty would order with us, we shall express
144
00:08:42.039 --> 00:08:44.200
our duty in his eye.
145
00:08:44.200 --> 00:08:47.720
And let him know so I will do it, my lord,
146
00:08:48.440 --> 00:08:50.080
go softly.
147
00:08:49.720 --> 00:08:58.360
On excellent Fortembrass, and soldiers enter Hamlet, Rosencrantz, Guildenstern and others.
148
00:08:58.879 --> 00:09:01.840
Good Sir, what powers of these they are?
149
00:09:01.879 --> 00:09:02.879
Of Norway? Sir?
150
00:09:03.600 --> 00:09:04.519
How purposed, sir?
151
00:09:04.559 --> 00:09:07.679
I pray you against some part of Poland?
152
00:09:08.360 --> 00:09:09.279
Who commands them?
153
00:09:09.320 --> 00:09:14.159
Sir, the nephews to old Norway fought in bras goes.
154
00:09:13.960 --> 00:09:15.720
It against the man of Poland, Sir.
155
00:09:15.960 --> 00:09:19.840
Or for some frontier, truly to speak, and with no addition,
156
00:09:20.639 --> 00:09:23.279
we go to gain a little patch of ground that
157
00:09:23.399 --> 00:09:26.879
hath in it no profit but the name to pay
158
00:09:27.000 --> 00:09:31.519
five ducats five I would not farm it, Nor will
159
00:09:31.519 --> 00:09:34.360
it yield to Norway or the pole a rancor raid.
160
00:09:34.519 --> 00:09:35.879
Should it be sold in fee?
161
00:09:36.440 --> 00:09:38.440
Why then the Polac never will defend it.
162
00:09:39.039 --> 00:09:41.200
Yes, it is already garrisoned.
163
00:09:41.840 --> 00:09:46.360
Two thousand souls and twenty thousand ducats will not debate
164
00:09:46.399 --> 00:09:50.399
the question of this straw. This is the impostume of
165
00:09:50.519 --> 00:09:53.879
much wealth and peace that inward breaks and shows no
166
00:09:54.039 --> 00:09:58.159
cause without Why the man dies, I humbly thank you, sir,
167
00:09:58.879 --> 00:10:02.480
God be with you, sir, exit wilt please you go,
168
00:10:02.600 --> 00:10:05.960
my lord, I'll be with you straight go a little.
169
00:10:05.679 --> 00:10:09.559
Before excellentt all except Hamlet.
170
00:10:09.679 --> 00:10:13.759
How all occasions do in form against me and spur
171
00:10:13.960 --> 00:10:17.960
my dull revenge. What is a man, if his chief
172
00:10:18.080 --> 00:10:20.519
good and market of his time be but to sleep
173
00:10:20.559 --> 00:10:25.159
and feed a beast? No more? Sure, he that made
174
00:10:25.240 --> 00:10:29.039
us with such large discourse, looking before and after, gave
175
00:10:29.120 --> 00:10:32.879
us not that capability and godlike reason to fust in
176
00:10:33.000 --> 00:10:37.240
us unused now, whether it be beastial oblivion or some
177
00:10:37.480 --> 00:10:42.000
craven scruple of thinking too precisely on the event, a
178
00:10:42.039 --> 00:10:45.360
thought which quartered hath but one part wisdom, and ever
179
00:10:45.399 --> 00:10:49.039
three parts coward. I do not know why, yet I
180
00:10:49.200 --> 00:10:52.600
live to say this thing's to do, sith, I have
181
00:10:52.919 --> 00:10:55.919
cause and will, and strength and means to do it.
182
00:10:57.000 --> 00:11:01.600
Examples gross as earth exhort me. Witness this army of
183
00:11:01.639 --> 00:11:05.759
such mass and charge, led by a delicate and tender prince,
184
00:11:06.399 --> 00:11:10.720
whose spirit, with divine ambition pufft makes mouths at the
185
00:11:10.759 --> 00:11:15.240
invisible event, exposing what is mortal and unsure to all
186
00:11:15.279 --> 00:11:19.639
that fortune, death and danger dare even for an egg shell.
187
00:11:20.919 --> 00:11:24.200
Rightly to be great is not to stir without great argument,
188
00:11:24.799 --> 00:11:27.840
but greatly to find quarrel in a straw, when honor
189
00:11:27.919 --> 00:11:31.799
is at the stake. How stand I, then, that have
190
00:11:31.879 --> 00:11:36.320
a father killed, a mother stained excitements of my reason
191
00:11:36.399 --> 00:11:40.159
and my blood, and let all sleep, While to my
192
00:11:40.320 --> 00:11:44.799
shame I see the imminent death of twenty thousand men
193
00:11:45.159 --> 00:11:48.320
that for a fantasy and trick of fame go to
194
00:11:48.360 --> 00:11:52.320
their graves like beds, fight for a plot whereon the
195
00:11:52.440 --> 00:11:56.159
numbers cannot try the cause, which is not toomb enough
196
00:11:56.200 --> 00:12:01.120
and continent to hide the slain. Oh, from this time forth,
197
00:12:01.519 --> 00:12:04.840
my thoughts be bloody, or be nothing worth.
198
00:12:05.799 --> 00:12:12.440
Exit Scene five Elsinore, a room in the castle. Enter
199
00:12:12.600 --> 00:12:15.840
Queen Gertrude, Horatio and a gentleman.
200
00:12:16.519 --> 00:12:17.720
I will not speak with her.
201
00:12:18.639 --> 00:12:24.879
She is importunate, indeed distract her mood. Will needs be pitied.
202
00:12:25.799 --> 00:12:26.639
What would she have?
203
00:12:27.279 --> 00:12:31.840
She speaks much of her father says, she hears there's
204
00:12:31.919 --> 00:12:35.679
tricks in the world, and hems and beats her heart
205
00:12:36.360 --> 00:12:42.480
spurns enviously at Straws, speaks things in doubt that carry
206
00:12:42.519 --> 00:12:48.039
but half sense. Her speech is nothing. Yet the unshaped
207
00:12:48.240 --> 00:12:52.559
use of it doth move the hearers to collexion. They
208
00:12:52.799 --> 00:12:56.120
aim at it and botch the words up fit to
209
00:12:56.159 --> 00:13:00.360
their own thoughts, which, as her winks and not and
210
00:13:00.600 --> 00:13:05.000
gestures yield them, indeed, would make one think there might
211
00:13:05.159 --> 00:13:12.360
be sort, though nothing sure Yet much unhappily.
212
00:13:12.519 --> 00:13:15.679
Twere good she were spoken with, For she may strew
213
00:13:15.799 --> 00:13:18.480
dangerous conjectures in ill breeding minds.
214
00:13:19.279 --> 00:13:24.159
Let her come in Exit Horatio to my sick soul.
215
00:13:24.399 --> 00:13:28.399
As sin's true nature is, each toy seems prologued to
216
00:13:28.480 --> 00:13:32.399
some great amiss, so full of outlass. Jealousy is guilt,
217
00:13:33.159 --> 00:13:36.000
It spills itself in fearing to be spilt.
218
00:13:36.360 --> 00:13:39.080
Re Enter Horatio with Ophelia.
219
00:13:39.799 --> 00:13:42.759
Where is the beauteous majesty of Denmark?
220
00:13:43.320 --> 00:13:44.440
How now'll feel you?
221
00:13:45.200 --> 00:13:46.320
How should I.
222
00:13:46.480 --> 00:13:53.080
Your two love know from another? One by his cocklehat
223
00:13:53.120 --> 00:13:56.080
and staff and his sandals shown.
224
00:13:56.879 --> 00:13:59.879
Alas, sweet, lady, what imports this song?
225
00:14:00.720 --> 00:14:01.120
Say you?
226
00:14:02.200 --> 00:14:02.480
Nay?
227
00:14:03.039 --> 00:14:09.120
Pray you mark? He is dead and gone. Lady, he
228
00:14:09.399 --> 00:14:14.480
is dead and gone. At his hat a grass, green turf,
229
00:14:15.120 --> 00:14:20.159
at his heels a stone. Nay, but Ophelia, pray you
230
00:14:21.000 --> 00:14:27.840
mark white tis shroud as the mountains.
231
00:14:27.240 --> 00:14:30.480
Snow enter King Cloudius.
232
00:14:30.799 --> 00:14:37.440
Alas, look here, my lord lorded with sweet flowers, which
233
00:14:37.600 --> 00:14:45.399
be up to the grave, dead girl with too love shower?
234
00:14:46.679 --> 00:14:48.039
How do you, pretty lady?
235
00:14:48.799 --> 00:14:50.559
Well, God killed you.
236
00:14:51.480 --> 00:14:55.480
They say the owl was a baker's daughter. Lord, we
237
00:14:55.679 --> 00:14:58.480
know what we are, but know not what we may be.
238
00:14:59.440 --> 00:15:02.679
God be at your table conceit upon her father.
239
00:15:03.480 --> 00:15:03.879
Pray you.
240
00:15:04.559 --> 00:15:05.200
Let's have no.
241
00:15:05.200 --> 00:15:08.240
Words of this. But when they ask you what it means,
242
00:15:08.720 --> 00:15:15.720
say you, this tomorrow is Saint Valentine's day. All in
243
00:15:15.840 --> 00:15:20.879
the morning be time, and I a maid at your
244
00:15:21.080 --> 00:15:30.039
window to be your Valentine. Then appros and donned his
245
00:15:30.440 --> 00:15:34.240
clothes and dubbed the chamber door.
246
00:15:35.919 --> 00:15:38.960
Let in the maid that out.
247
00:15:39.000 --> 00:15:43.919
A maid never departed.
248
00:15:45.000 --> 00:15:47.600
More pretty, Ophelia.
249
00:15:48.320 --> 00:15:53.399
Indeed, law without an oath, I'll make an end on it,
250
00:15:54.080 --> 00:16:00.279
by guess and by Saint Charity. A lack, and by
251
00:16:00.600 --> 00:16:06.200
for shame. Young men will do it if they come
252
00:16:06.399 --> 00:16:13.000
to it, my cock, they are too blame cou she
253
00:16:13.879 --> 00:16:22.360
before you tumbled me, You promised me toward so wod
254
00:16:22.600 --> 00:16:29.200
I adne by hoonder son, And thou hast not come
255
00:16:29.519 --> 00:16:31.159
to my bed?
256
00:16:32.279 --> 00:16:33.679
How long hath she been?
257
00:16:33.799 --> 00:16:34.320
Thus?
258
00:16:34.960 --> 00:16:38.360
I hope all will be well. We must be patient,
259
00:16:39.000 --> 00:16:41.840
but I cannot choose. But weep to think they should
260
00:16:41.879 --> 00:16:45.320
lay him in the cold ground. My brother shall know
261
00:16:45.399 --> 00:16:49.440
of it, and so I thank you for your good counsel. Come,
262
00:16:49.480 --> 00:16:55.519
my coach. Good night, ladies, good night, sweet ladies, good night,
263
00:16:56.600 --> 00:16:57.240
good night.
264
00:16:58.120 --> 00:17:01.240
Exit, follow her close, give her good watch.
265
00:17:01.279 --> 00:17:03.759
I pray you exit, Horatio.
266
00:17:04.559 --> 00:17:08.799
Oh, this is the poison of deep grief. It springs
267
00:17:08.839 --> 00:17:14.839
all from her father's death. Oh, Gertrude, Gertrude, When sorrows come,
268
00:17:14.920 --> 00:17:20.079
they come not single spies, but in battalions. First her
269
00:17:20.119 --> 00:17:24.799
father slain, Next your son gone, and he most violent
270
00:17:24.880 --> 00:17:28.839
author of his own. Just remove the people, muddied, thick
271
00:17:28.880 --> 00:17:32.400
and unwholesome in their thoughts and whispers for good Polonius's death.
272
00:17:33.519 --> 00:17:36.200
And we have done but greenly in hugger, mugger, to
273
00:17:36.279 --> 00:17:40.960
inter him. Poor Ophelia divided from herself and her fair judgment,
274
00:17:41.640 --> 00:17:45.960
without the which we are pictures or mere beasts. Last,
275
00:17:46.160 --> 00:17:49.440
and as much containing as all these, her brother is
276
00:17:49.480 --> 00:17:53.079
in secret, come from France, feeds on his wonder, keeps
277
00:17:53.160 --> 00:17:56.240
himself in clouds, and wants not buzzers to infect his
278
00:17:56.319 --> 00:18:00.279
ear with pestilent speeches of his father's death. They're in
279
00:18:00.359 --> 00:18:04.039
necessity of matter, beggard. Will nothing stick our person to
280
00:18:04.119 --> 00:18:08.160
a reign in ear and ear, Oh, my dear Gertrude,
281
00:18:08.359 --> 00:18:11.440
This like to a murdering piece in many places, gives
282
00:18:11.480 --> 00:18:13.000
me superfluous death.
283
00:18:13.640 --> 00:18:16.759
A noise within lack? What noise is this?
284
00:18:17.480 --> 00:18:19.799
Where are my switzers? Let them guard the door?
285
00:18:20.559 --> 00:18:23.400
Enter another, gentleman, What is the matter?
286
00:18:24.319 --> 00:18:28.920
Save yourself, my lord? The ocean overpeering of his list
287
00:18:29.200 --> 00:18:33.200
eats not the flats with more impetuous haste than young
288
00:18:33.319 --> 00:18:38.839
laats in a riotous head, or bears your officers the
289
00:18:38.960 --> 00:18:42.759
rabble call him lord, and as the world. When now
290
00:18:42.880 --> 00:18:47.960
but to begin antiquity for good custom not known? The
291
00:18:48.240 --> 00:18:53.559
ratifiers and props of every word, they cry, choose, we
292
00:18:54.200 --> 00:18:59.720
laiatis shall be king, caps, hands and tongues applaud it
293
00:18:59.759 --> 00:19:05.039
to clouds. Laiatis shall be king, Laatis king?
294
00:19:06.319 --> 00:19:10.160
How cheerfully on the false trail? I cry, Oh, this
295
00:19:10.240 --> 00:19:13.079
is counter you false danus dogs.
296
00:19:13.599 --> 00:19:14.839
The doors are broke.
297
00:19:15.359 --> 00:19:21.920
Noise within enter layer tes armed danes following, Where is
298
00:19:21.960 --> 00:19:22.480
this king?
299
00:19:23.920 --> 00:19:24.160
Sir?
300
00:19:24.359 --> 00:19:25.799
Stand you all without.
301
00:19:26.279 --> 00:19:28.039
No Let's let me go in.
302
00:19:28.920 --> 00:19:30.400
I pray you give me leave.
303
00:19:31.279 --> 00:19:34.039
We will, we will, we will will.
304
00:19:34.480 --> 00:19:36.160
They retire without the door?
305
00:19:36.680 --> 00:19:41.240
I thank you keep the door, Oh, thou vile king, give.
306
00:19:41.079 --> 00:19:44.799
Me my father calmly good, Laertes, that.
307
00:19:44.880 --> 00:19:48.759
Drop of blood, that's calm, proclaims me, bastard christ cockled
308
00:19:48.799 --> 00:19:51.720
to my father. Brand's a harlot even here between the
309
00:19:51.839 --> 00:19:54.200
chaste and smirched brow of my true mother?
310
00:19:54.880 --> 00:19:57.799
What is the cause? Layer ties that thy rebellion looks
311
00:19:57.799 --> 00:20:01.960
so giant like? Let him go, Gertrude, do not fear
312
00:20:02.039 --> 00:20:05.480
our person. They such divinity doth hedge a king that
313
00:20:05.599 --> 00:20:08.839
treason can but peep to what it would acts little
314
00:20:08.960 --> 00:20:14.079
of his will? Tell me, Laertes, why thou art thus incensed?
315
00:20:15.079 --> 00:20:18.519
Let him go, Gertrude, speak man.
316
00:20:18.799 --> 00:20:20.880
Where is my father dead?
317
00:20:21.519 --> 00:20:22.480
But not by him?
318
00:20:23.279 --> 00:20:25.079
Let him demand his fill?
319
00:20:25.720 --> 00:20:28.799
How came he dead? I'll not be juggled with to
320
00:20:28.920 --> 00:20:32.519
hell allegiance bows to the blackestteval conscience, and grace to
321
00:20:32.559 --> 00:20:36.240
the profoundest pit. I dare damnation to this point. I
322
00:20:36.319 --> 00:20:39.559
stand that both the worlds I give to negligence. Let
323
00:20:39.599 --> 00:20:43.759
come what comes. Only I'll be revenged most storly for.
324
00:20:43.920 --> 00:20:47.920
My father, who shall stay you, My will not all
325
00:20:47.960 --> 00:20:48.640
the world.
326
00:20:49.039 --> 00:20:51.440
And for my means I'll husband them so well they
327
00:20:51.480 --> 00:20:54.640
shall go far with little good Laertes.
328
00:20:54.839 --> 00:20:57.000
If you desire to know the certainty of your dear
329
00:20:57.119 --> 00:21:00.920
father's death, ist writ in your revenge that swoop steak
330
00:21:01.000 --> 00:21:04.039
you will draw both friend and foe, winner.
331
00:21:03.799 --> 00:21:06.400
And loser, none but his enemies.
332
00:21:07.039 --> 00:21:07.960
Will you know them?
333
00:21:08.039 --> 00:21:10.960
Then to his good friends as wild that I'll open
334
00:21:10.960 --> 00:21:14.519
my arms and, like the kind life rendering Pelican, repast
335
00:21:14.559 --> 00:21:15.559
them with my blood.
336
00:21:16.119 --> 00:21:19.160
Why now you speak, like a good child and a
337
00:21:19.240 --> 00:21:23.559
true gentleman, that I am guiltless of your father's death,
338
00:21:23.559 --> 00:21:27.400
and a most sensible and grief for it. It shall
339
00:21:27.440 --> 00:21:30.599
as level to your judgment, Pierce, as day does to
340
00:21:30.680 --> 00:21:34.160
your eye.
341
00:21:34.160 --> 00:21:35.680
Oh now what noise.
342
00:21:35.440 --> 00:21:37.720
Is that re enter Ophelia.
343
00:21:38.279 --> 00:21:41.599
Oh he'd dry up my brains tea seven times salt,
344
00:21:41.799 --> 00:21:45.039
burn out the sense and virtue of mine eye by heaven.
345
00:21:45.119 --> 00:21:47.839
Thy manners shall be paid by weight till our scale
346
00:21:47.920 --> 00:21:52.880
turned the beam a rose of may, dear made kind sister,
347
00:21:53.039 --> 00:21:57.640
sweet Ophelia, Oh, Heaven's is possible. A young maid's wits
348
00:21:57.640 --> 00:22:00.240
should be as moral as an old man's love life.
349
00:22:01.160 --> 00:22:05.920
Nature is fine love, and where tis fine, it sends
350
00:22:05.920 --> 00:22:10.160
some precious instance of itself after the thing it loves.
351
00:22:11.079 --> 00:22:17.559
They bore him bear faced on the beer, Hey nan Nanni, Nanny,
352
00:22:17.720 --> 00:22:22.920
hey Nani, And in his gray reigned many a tear
353
00:22:23.920 --> 00:22:24.519
fair you.
354
00:22:24.880 --> 00:22:26.440
Well, my DoD.
355
00:22:27.680 --> 00:22:30.920
Hadst thou thy wits, and didst persuade revenge. It could
356
00:22:30.920 --> 00:22:31.400
not move.
357
00:22:31.480 --> 00:22:35.200
Thus you must sing a down a down, and you
358
00:22:35.799 --> 00:22:41.079
call him a downa Oh, how the wheel becomes it?
359
00:22:41.079 --> 00:22:41.640
It is the.
360
00:22:41.680 --> 00:22:45.519
False steward that stole his master's daughter.
361
00:22:46.480 --> 00:22:47.920
Is nothing's more than matter.
362
00:22:48.519 --> 00:22:56.480
There's rosemary that's for remembrance, pray, love, remember, And then
363
00:22:56.599 --> 00:23:00.680
there's pansies that's for thoughts.
364
00:23:00.960 --> 00:23:03.440
Document in madness, thoughts and remembrance.
365
00:23:03.519 --> 00:23:09.359
Fitted there's fennel for you and columbines. There's rue for you,
366
00:23:09.960 --> 00:23:13.440
and here's some for me. We may call it herb
367
00:23:13.559 --> 00:23:17.039
grace of Sundays. Oh, you must weigh your rooe with
368
00:23:17.079 --> 00:23:17.640
the difference.
369
00:23:18.279 --> 00:23:19.119
There's a daisy.
370
00:23:19.759 --> 00:23:22.640
I would give you some violets, but they withered all.
371
00:23:22.759 --> 00:23:26.400
When my father died, they say he made a good end.
372
00:23:27.319 --> 00:23:29.720
Poor bonny, sweet Robin.
373
00:23:30.480 --> 00:23:36.240
He is all my joy, thought, an affliction, passion, hell itself.
374
00:23:36.559 --> 00:23:39.640
She turns to favor and to prettiness.
375
00:23:39.799 --> 00:23:49.200
And really not comgain and really not camagain.
376
00:23:50.880 --> 00:23:54.559
No, no, he's dead.
377
00:23:55.359 --> 00:24:03.400
Go to the dead bird. He never will come again.
378
00:24:04.440 --> 00:24:08.680
His beard was as white as know.
379
00:24:10.359 --> 00:24:13.599
All phlagsin.
380
00:24:14.000 --> 00:24:18.119
Was his ball. He is gone.
381
00:24:19.160 --> 00:24:24.359
He is gone, And do we cast away?
382
00:24:25.240 --> 00:24:33.839
Moan, God, have mercy on his soul and of all
383
00:24:34.480 --> 00:24:36.440
Christian souls.
384
00:24:37.000 --> 00:24:41.799
I pray God, God be.
385
00:24:44.359 --> 00:24:44.720
Exit.
386
00:24:45.640 --> 00:24:47.799
Do you see this, oh God.
387
00:24:48.119 --> 00:24:51.480
Laerties, I must commune with your grief, or you deny me. Right,
388
00:24:52.279 --> 00:24:55.839
Go but apart, make choice of whom your wisest friends
389
00:24:55.920 --> 00:24:59.160
you will, and they shall hear and judge TwixT you
390
00:24:59.200 --> 00:25:02.599
and me. If by direct or by collateral hand, they
391
00:25:02.640 --> 00:25:05.839
find us touched, we will our kingdom, give our crown,
392
00:25:06.000 --> 00:25:08.640
our life, and all that we can ours to you
393
00:25:08.920 --> 00:25:13.880
in satisfaction. But if not, be you content to lend
394
00:25:13.920 --> 00:25:17.000
your patience to us, and we shall jointly labor with
395
00:25:17.079 --> 00:25:18.920
your soul to give it due content.
396
00:25:19.759 --> 00:25:23.880
Let this be so his means of death, his obscure funeral,
397
00:25:24.200 --> 00:25:27.599
No trophies swore, no hatchment or his bones, no noble
398
00:25:27.720 --> 00:25:31.519
right nor formal ostentation. Cry to be heard, as twere
399
00:25:31.599 --> 00:25:34.680
from heaven to earth that I must call it in question.
400
00:25:35.480 --> 00:25:38.759
So you shall, and where the offenses, let the great
401
00:25:38.799 --> 00:25:41.519
axe fall. I pray you go with me.
402
00:25:42.319 --> 00:25:49.359
Exeunt Scene six. Another room in the castle. Enter Horatio
403
00:25:49.920 --> 00:25:50.759
and a servant.
404
00:25:51.519 --> 00:25:53.039
What are they that would speak with me?
405
00:25:53.759 --> 00:25:57.440
Sailors, sir? They say they have letters for you.
406
00:25:57.759 --> 00:26:02.160
Let them come in exit. I do not know from
407
00:26:02.160 --> 00:26:04.200
what part of the world I should be greeted, if
408
00:26:04.200 --> 00:26:07.200
not from Lord Hamlet enter, sailors.
409
00:26:07.759 --> 00:26:08.960
God bless you, sir.
410
00:26:09.480 --> 00:26:10.640
Let him bless thee too.
411
00:26:11.319 --> 00:26:15.920
He shall, sir, and please him. There's a letter for you, sir.
412
00:26:16.559 --> 00:26:19.319
It comes from the ambassador that was bound for England.
413
00:26:19.799 --> 00:26:23.039
If your name be Horatio, as I am, let to know.
414
00:26:23.039 --> 00:26:28.720
It is read Horatio. When thou shalt have overlooked this,
415
00:26:29.519 --> 00:26:32.519
give these fellows some means to the king. They have
416
00:26:32.640 --> 00:26:35.920
letters for him. Ere we were two days old at sea,
417
00:26:36.640 --> 00:26:40.839
a pirate of very warlike appointment gave us chase. Finding
418
00:26:40.880 --> 00:26:44.759
ourselves too slow of sail, we put on a compelled valor,
419
00:26:45.079 --> 00:26:47.680
and in the grapple I boarded them on the instant
420
00:26:47.720 --> 00:26:50.279
they got clear of our ship, so I alone became
421
00:26:50.319 --> 00:26:53.519
their prisoner. They have dealt with me like thieves of mercy,
422
00:26:53.839 --> 00:26:56.079
but they knew what they did. I am to do
423
00:26:56.160 --> 00:26:59.079
a good turn for them. Let the king have the
424
00:26:59.160 --> 00:27:02.039
letters I have sent, and repair thou to me with
425
00:27:02.119 --> 00:27:05.200
as much speed as thou wouldst fly death. I have
426
00:27:05.279 --> 00:27:08.079
words to speak in thine ear will make THEE dumb?
427
00:27:08.480 --> 00:27:10.640
Yet are they much too light for the bore of
428
00:27:10.680 --> 00:27:13.799
the matter. These good fellows will bring thee where I am.
429
00:27:14.880 --> 00:27:18.759
Rosenkrantz and Guildenstern hold their course for England. Of them
430
00:27:18.799 --> 00:27:23.119
I have much to tell thee. Farewell he that knowest
431
00:27:23.160 --> 00:27:27.119
thine Hamlet come. I will make you way for these
432
00:27:27.119 --> 00:27:29.680
your letters, and do it the speedier that you may
433
00:27:29.680 --> 00:27:31.559
direct me to him from whom you brought them.
434
00:27:32.079 --> 00:27:38.359
Exellunt scene seven. Another room in the castle. Enter, King
435
00:27:38.480 --> 00:27:40.319
Clodius and layer Ties.
436
00:27:41.079 --> 00:27:44.519
Now must your conscience, my acquaintance, seal, and you must
437
00:27:44.599 --> 00:27:47.720
put me in your heart, for friend sith you have heard,
438
00:27:47.759 --> 00:27:50.079
and with a knowing ear that he which hath your
439
00:27:50.119 --> 00:27:52.640
noble father slain, pursued my life.
440
00:27:53.160 --> 00:27:56.640
It well appears. But tell me why you proceeded not
441
00:27:56.839 --> 00:28:00.440
against these feats, so crimeful and so capital in nature,
442
00:28:00.599 --> 00:28:04.160
as by your safety wisdom, all things else you mainly
443
00:28:04.200 --> 00:28:04.920
were stirred up.
444
00:28:05.440 --> 00:28:08.759
Oh, for two special reasons, which may to you perhaps
445
00:28:08.759 --> 00:28:12.480
seem much unsinewed, but yet to me they are strong.
446
00:28:13.680 --> 00:28:18.039
The Queen his mother lives almost by his looks, and
447
00:28:18.079 --> 00:28:21.559
for myself my virtue or my plague be it either,
448
00:28:21.599 --> 00:28:25.640
which she is so conjunctive to my life and soul,
449
00:28:26.480 --> 00:28:29.119
that as the star moves not but in his sphere,
450
00:28:30.200 --> 00:28:34.640
I could not but by her. The other motive why
451
00:28:34.720 --> 00:28:37.319
to a public count I might not go, is the
452
00:28:37.319 --> 00:28:40.960
great love the general gender bear, him who, dipping all
453
00:28:40.960 --> 00:28:44.160
his faults in their affection, would like the spring that
454
00:28:44.279 --> 00:28:48.680
turneth wood to stone, convert his gibes to graces, so
455
00:28:48.799 --> 00:28:51.880
that my arrows, too slightly timbered, for so loud a wind,
456
00:28:51.880 --> 00:28:54.559
would have reverted to my bow again, and not where
457
00:28:54.559 --> 00:28:55.799
I had aimed them.
458
00:28:56.240 --> 00:28:59.279
And so have I a noble father lost assist her,
459
00:28:59.359 --> 00:29:02.720
driven into desperate terms, whose worth, if praises, may go
460
00:29:02.839 --> 00:29:05.839
back again, Sir challenger on mount of all the age
461
00:29:05.880 --> 00:29:09.720
for her perfections. But my revenge will come.
462
00:29:10.240 --> 00:29:13.400
Break not your sleeps. For that you must not think
463
00:29:13.440 --> 00:29:15.440
that we are made of stuff so flat and dull
464
00:29:15.480 --> 00:29:17.799
that we can let our beard be shook with danger
465
00:29:17.839 --> 00:29:22.720
and think it pastime. You shortly shall hear more. I
466
00:29:22.960 --> 00:29:27.240
loved your father, and we love ourself, and that I
467
00:29:27.319 --> 00:29:28.839
hope will teach you to imagine.
468
00:29:29.559 --> 00:29:32.440
Enter a messenger, how now what news?
469
00:29:33.119 --> 00:29:36.559
Let us my lord from Hamlet? This to your majesty,
470
00:29:37.119 --> 00:29:38.160
This to the queen.
471
00:29:38.480 --> 00:29:41.839
From Hamlet who brought them sailors?
472
00:29:41.880 --> 00:29:42.319
My lord?
473
00:29:42.519 --> 00:29:45.799
They say I saw them not? They were given me
474
00:29:45.839 --> 00:29:50.000
by Claudio. He received them of him that brought them layerities.
475
00:29:50.000 --> 00:29:52.000
You shall hear them leave.
476
00:29:51.920 --> 00:29:56.279
Us exit, messenger, reads.
477
00:29:56.319 --> 00:29:59.960
High and mighty. You shall know I am set naked
478
00:30:00.119 --> 00:30:03.519
kid on your kingdom. Tomorrow shall I beg leave to
479
00:30:03.519 --> 00:30:08.079
see your kingly eyes? When I shall first asking your pardon?
480
00:30:08.119 --> 00:30:12.440
Thereunto recount the occasion of my sudden and more strange
481
00:30:12.599 --> 00:30:18.440
return Hamlet, What should this mean? Or all the rest
482
00:30:18.480 --> 00:30:21.839
come back? Or is it some abuse? And no such thing?
483
00:30:22.480 --> 00:30:22.799
Know you?
484
00:30:22.880 --> 00:30:29.079
The hand tis Hamlet's character naked, and in a PostScript
485
00:30:29.119 --> 00:30:32.200
here he says alone, can you advise me?
486
00:30:32.920 --> 00:30:35.519
I am lost in it, my lord, But let him come.
487
00:30:36.119 --> 00:30:39.039
It warms a very sickness in my heart that I
488
00:30:39.119 --> 00:30:42.880
shall live and tell him to his teeth. Thus didst thou?
489
00:30:43.799 --> 00:30:47.160
If it be so, layer tes as, how should it
490
00:30:47.240 --> 00:30:51.160
be so? How otherwise will you be ruled by me?
491
00:30:51.960 --> 00:30:52.119
Ay?
492
00:30:52.279 --> 00:30:55.200
My lord? So you will not o'er rule me to
493
00:30:55.279 --> 00:30:55.960
a peace.
494
00:30:56.480 --> 00:31:00.279
To thine own peace. If he be now returned as
495
00:31:00.359 --> 00:31:02.799
checking at his voyage, and that he means no more
496
00:31:02.839 --> 00:31:06.160
to undertake it, I will work him to an exploit
497
00:31:06.839 --> 00:31:10.000
now ripe in my device, under the which he shall
498
00:31:10.039 --> 00:31:14.359
not choose but fall, and for his death no wind
499
00:31:14.400 --> 00:31:17.920
of blame shall breathe, but even his mother shall uncharge
500
00:31:17.960 --> 00:31:20.400
the practice and call it accident.
501
00:31:21.079 --> 00:31:23.559
My Lord, I will be ruled the rather, if you
502
00:31:23.599 --> 00:31:26.559
could devise it so that I might be the organ.
503
00:31:26.920 --> 00:31:30.359
It falls right. You have been talked of since your
504
00:31:30.400 --> 00:31:35.319
travel much, and that in Hamlet's hearing for Equality, wherein
505
00:31:35.359 --> 00:31:38.519
they say you shine your sum of parts did not
506
00:31:38.680 --> 00:31:42.000
together pluck such envy from him as did that one.
507
00:31:42.839 --> 00:31:46.200
And that in my regard of the unworthiest.
508
00:31:45.480 --> 00:31:47.960
Siege, what part is that, my lord?
509
00:31:48.480 --> 00:31:52.359
A very Riband in the cap of youth, yet needful too,
510
00:31:52.519 --> 00:31:55.640
for youth no less becomes the light and careless livery
511
00:31:55.720 --> 00:31:58.880
that it wears than settled age, his sables and his weeds,
512
00:31:58.920 --> 00:32:03.680
importing health and greatness. Two months since here was a
513
00:32:03.720 --> 00:32:07.519
gentleman of Normandy. I've seen myself and served against the French,
514
00:32:07.519 --> 00:32:11.160
and they can well on horseback. But this gallant had
515
00:32:11.240 --> 00:32:16.079
witchcraft in He grew under his seat, and to such
516
00:32:16.160 --> 00:32:19.279
wondrous doing brought his horse as he had been encorpsed,
517
00:32:19.279 --> 00:32:22.920
and DEMI natured with the brave beast. So far he
518
00:32:23.119 --> 00:32:27.400
topped my thought that I, in forgery of shapes and tricks,
519
00:32:27.480 --> 00:32:29.039
come short of what he did.
520
00:32:29.559 --> 00:32:33.279
A Norman wast a Norman upon my life.
521
00:32:33.519 --> 00:32:37.480
Le Monde the very same, I know him well.
522
00:32:37.640 --> 00:32:40.279
He is the brute, indeed, and gem of all the nation.
523
00:32:41.200 --> 00:32:44.279
He made confession of you, and gave you such a
524
00:32:44.400 --> 00:32:48.279
masterly report for art and exercise in your defense and
525
00:32:48.359 --> 00:32:52.519
for your rapier. Most especially that he cried out, twould
526
00:32:52.559 --> 00:32:55.799
be a sight. Indeed, if one could match you. The
527
00:32:55.839 --> 00:32:58.640
scrimers of their nation, he swore, had had neither motion,
528
00:32:58.880 --> 00:33:02.960
guard nor eye. If you opposed them, sir, this report
529
00:33:03.000 --> 00:33:05.880
of his did hamlet so envenom with his envy, that
530
00:33:05.920 --> 00:33:08.640
he could nothing do but wish and beg your sudden
531
00:33:08.680 --> 00:33:12.359
coming oar to play with him. Now out of this?
532
00:33:13.400 --> 00:33:14.960
What out of this, my lord.
533
00:33:15.319 --> 00:33:20.759
Laerties, was your father dear to you? Or are you
534
00:33:20.960 --> 00:33:24.559
like the painting of a sorrow a face without a heart.
535
00:33:25.240 --> 00:33:28.480
I ask you this, not that I think you did
536
00:33:28.480 --> 00:33:31.519
not love your father, but that I know love is
537
00:33:31.559 --> 00:33:35.480
begun by time, and that I see in passages of
538
00:33:35.559 --> 00:33:39.680
proof time qualifies the spark and fire of it. There
539
00:33:39.680 --> 00:33:42.119
lives within the very flame of love a kind of
540
00:33:42.200 --> 00:33:45.799
wick or snuff that will abate it. And nothing is
541
00:33:45.920 --> 00:33:49.640
at a like goodness still, for goodness growing to a
542
00:33:49.640 --> 00:33:53.640
pleurisy dies in his own too much that we would do,
543
00:33:53.759 --> 00:33:57.920
we should do when we would. For this wood changes
544
00:33:57.960 --> 00:34:01.039
and hath abatements and delays as many as there are tongues,
545
00:34:01.119 --> 00:34:06.240
our hands, our accidents. And then this should is like
546
00:34:06.279 --> 00:34:11.599
a spendthrift sigh that hurts by easing. But to the
547
00:34:11.679 --> 00:34:15.840
quick of the ulcer hamlet comes back. What would you
548
00:34:15.920 --> 00:34:19.800
undertake to show yourself your father's son, indeed, more than
549
00:34:19.800 --> 00:34:21.480
in words.
550
00:34:21.119 --> 00:34:22.880
To cut his throat at the church?
551
00:34:23.679 --> 00:34:29.800
No place indeed should murder sanctuarize revenge should have no bounds,
552
00:34:30.920 --> 00:34:34.639
but good layer ties. Will you do this, keep close
553
00:34:34.679 --> 00:34:39.039
within your chamber hamlet return shall know you are come home.
554
00:34:40.039 --> 00:34:42.679
We'll put on those shall praise your excellence, and set
555
00:34:42.719 --> 00:34:45.119
a double varnish on the fame the Frenchman gave you.
556
00:34:45.760 --> 00:34:49.639
Bring in fine together and wager on your heads. He
557
00:34:50.039 --> 00:34:53.599
being remiss, most generous and free from all contriving, will
558
00:34:53.639 --> 00:34:57.199
not peruse the foils, So that with ease or a
559
00:34:57.239 --> 00:35:01.079
little shuffling, you may choose a sword unbaked, and in
560
00:35:01.119 --> 00:35:03.960
a pass of practice, requite him for your father.
561
00:35:05.039 --> 00:35:08.760
I will do it, and for that purpose I'll anoint
562
00:35:08.840 --> 00:35:12.840
my sword. I bought an unction of a mountebank so
563
00:35:13.000 --> 00:35:15.719
mortal that but dip a knife in it where it
564
00:35:15.800 --> 00:35:20.280
draws blood. No cataplasm so rare collected from all simples
565
00:35:20.320 --> 00:35:23.079
that have virtue under the moon, can save the thing
566
00:35:23.119 --> 00:35:26.280
from death that is but scratched withal. I'll touch my
567
00:35:26.320 --> 00:35:29.320
point with this contagion, that if I gall him slightly,
568
00:35:29.400 --> 00:35:30.280
it may be death.
569
00:35:31.079 --> 00:35:34.800
Let's further think of this, weigh what convenience, both of
570
00:35:34.840 --> 00:35:38.320
time and means, may fit us to our shape. If
571
00:35:38.360 --> 00:35:41.199
this should fail, and that our drift, look through our
572
00:35:41.280 --> 00:35:44.880
bad performance. T we're better not a sayed. Therefore this
573
00:35:45.039 --> 00:35:47.880
project should have a back or second that might hold
574
00:35:47.920 --> 00:35:52.880
if this should blast in proof soft let me see,
575
00:35:53.199 --> 00:35:56.960
We'll make a solemn wager on your cunnings. I hat
576
00:35:57.440 --> 00:35:59.800
when in your motion you are hot and dry, as
577
00:35:59.840 --> 00:36:02.400
make your bouts more violent. To that end, and that
578
00:36:02.480 --> 00:36:06.079
he calls for drink, I'll have prepared him a chalice
579
00:36:06.119 --> 00:36:09.360
for the nonce whereon but sipping. If he by chance
580
00:36:09.480 --> 00:36:12.760
escape your venomed stock, our purpose may hold.
581
00:36:12.880 --> 00:36:18.360
There, Enter Queen Gertrude, How now, sweet Queen, one woe
582
00:36:18.400 --> 00:36:23.960
doth tread upon another's heel so fast they follow your
583
00:36:24.000 --> 00:36:30.480
sister's drowned laertes drowned. Oh, where there is a willow
584
00:36:30.559 --> 00:36:34.159
grows a slant of brook that shows his whole leaves,
585
00:36:34.159 --> 00:36:40.079
and the glassy stream there with fantastic garlands. Did she
586
00:36:40.199 --> 00:36:46.000
come of crow flowers, nettles, daisies, and long purples that
587
00:36:46.199 --> 00:36:50.239
liberal shepherds give a grosser name. But our cold maids
588
00:36:50.440 --> 00:36:54.719
do dead men's fingers call them. There on a pendent
589
00:36:54.880 --> 00:37:01.280
boughs her coronet weeds clambering to hang an envious sliver
590
00:37:01.360 --> 00:37:06.519
broke when down her weedy trophies, and herself fell in
591
00:37:06.559 --> 00:37:11.960
the weeping brook, her clothes spread wide and mermaid like
592
00:37:12.400 --> 00:37:16.280
a while they bore her up, which time she chanted
593
00:37:16.320 --> 00:37:21.079
snatches of old tunes, as one incapable of her own distress,
594
00:37:21.800 --> 00:37:25.599
or like a creature native, and endued unto that element.
595
00:37:27.000 --> 00:37:30.400
But long it could not be till that her garments,
596
00:37:30.840 --> 00:37:34.280
heavy with their drink, pulled the poor wretch from her
597
00:37:34.280 --> 00:37:36.599
melodious lay to muddy death.
598
00:37:37.559 --> 00:37:43.079
Less than she is drowned, drowned, drowned too much of water.
599
00:37:43.280 --> 00:37:47.519
Hast thou, poor Ophelia, And therefore I forbid my tears.
600
00:37:47.519 --> 00:37:51.280
But yet it is our trick nature her custom holds.
601
00:37:52.000 --> 00:37:54.679
Let shame say what it will. When these are gone,
602
00:37:55.199 --> 00:37:58.599
the woman will be out. Adieu, my lord. I have
603
00:37:58.679 --> 00:38:01.679
a speech of fire that vain would blaze, but that
604
00:38:01.840 --> 00:38:04.880
this volley doubts it exit.
605
00:38:06.119 --> 00:38:09.360
Let's follow Gertrude, how much I had to do to
606
00:38:09.480 --> 00:38:12.679
calm his rage. Now fear I this will give its
607
00:38:12.679 --> 00:38:13.280
start again.
608
00:38:14.199 --> 00:38:20.880
Therefore let's follow exeunt end of Act four
