Roxy Striar & Tara Erickson continue their first-time Resident Evil movie reaction journey with Resident Evil: Retribution, aka Resident Evil 5, as they prepare for Zach Cregger’s new Resident Evil movie. The fifth live-action installment traps Alice inside Umbrella’s enormous underwater simulation facility, where recreations of Tokyo, New York, Moscow, and suburban America turn the apocalypse into one massive experiment. From the live-action debuts of Leon S. Kennedy and Ada Wong to returning characters, Las Plagas creatures, the Jill Valentine versus Alice snow fight, and the White House cliffhanger, Roxy & Tara experience the franchise’s wildest video-game crossover yet! Resident Evil: Retribution Full Movie Reaction Watch Along: / thereelrejects Written and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson (Mortal Kombat, Event Horizon), Resident Evil: Retribution stars Milla Jovovich as Alice (The Fifth Element, Monster Hunter), Sienna Guillory as Jill Valentine (Eragon, Love Actually), Li Bingbing as Ada Wong (The Meg, Transformers: Age of Extinction), Johann Urb as Leon S. Kennedy (2012, Eastwick), Michelle Rodriguez as Rain Ocampo (Fast & Furious, Lost), Kevin Durand as Barry Burton (The Strain, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Boris Kodjoe as Luther West (Station 19, The Last Man on Earth), Shawn Roberts as Albert Wesker (X-Men, Edge of Darkness), Oded Fehr as Carlos Oliveira (The Mummy, Covert Affairs), and Colin Salmon as James “One” Shade (Arrow, Alien vs. Predator). Roxy & Tara discuss Umbrella’s Kamchatka simulation facility, Alice’s suburban clone storyline, Li Bingbing’s video-game-accurate Ada Wong, Leon and Barry’s live-action debuts, Jill Valentine’s return, the Moscow chase, Bad Rain’s Las Plagas transformation, the ice-covered battle, Alice and Wesker’s uneasy alliance, the White House ending, and how Retribution compares with the first four Resident Evil movies. The marathon continues toward Zach Cregger’s new Resident Evil reboot, arriving in theaters September 18, 2026, and starring Austin Abrams in an original story inspired by the atmosphere and intensity of the Capcom games.
