Kate & Kayode: I make. Yes, yes, y'all. What's going on everybody? What's going on? we're here. Hello. We're here. Barely, but we're here. Give it up us. Scriptily adapted factory underground radio, y'all. welcome to the show. It is Saturday morning. A beautiful Finally. Be turn my mic up, please. is that you wait, that's me. That's better. right. I don't want to hear it that much, no. Just a little lower. You gotta have the sweet spot. Yeah. Welcome to the show, y'all. Scriptly adapted. We're back. It's this the final Saturday of summer. Final Saturday of summer, y'all. well, not really. I think Labor Day really is the final, final, final. But really, it's the 21st of September, actually. the twenty-first of September is the official final day. Yeah. You say? Well, yes, according to the solstice calendar. It's summer. It's it's fall solstice the twenty-first of September. Summer's officially over. That's why having a birthday in September is technically still like having a summer birthday. Hashtag you're welcome for all my September babies. Technically not. Including myself. I w I wouldn't say it's like a still having like a summer birthday. Like my birthday's July third. That's a summer birthday. It's even better because I'm not drenched in sweat in muggy humidity. And yeah, I guess. My birthday was ninety-nine degrees outside. Disgusting. Ninety nine. We didn't felt like it. We did nothing. No man, we waited till five o'clock. Yep. We didn't show our face outside until it was at least eighty-nine. So it had to go down. It had to go down ten degrees for us to show our face. but we're here, y'all. Yeah. Speaking of summer though, I mean, speaking of birthdays. Kate's got a big birthday coming up in less than a month, y'all. Yeah. This is it. It's been a good ride, Kate. I I do Okay. I do fear that after this birthday, I will be no longer allowed to spend any money. Yeah. This might be this might be it. Listen, my birthdays are pretty low key, okay? I don't I don't do much. I'm not really like that's one thing you can say about me. I am not like I have to go all out every single year. That is not my MO, okay? It's hard enough as it is knowing I'm hosting myself a dinner party. Like I'm it's just you know, I I I I'm not that kind of person. as it is I'm cringing 'cause I hate planning. But I felt like, you know, the big is approaching and The big what? You know. The big one. it comes after three, before five. I don't think I have it in me to say. it's approaching and I would be remiss if I did not do something to memorialize this event. Of course. And listen, th it's a big one. You have to you have to do something, Kate. Absolutely. You gotta do something. Yes. This something maybe you know, this is this is probably this is costing more than my You my 40s. okay. Well, you know what? This is blowing that out the water. You know why? Because I have I deserve to feel fabulous. And when you're having a dinner party, you need accouchements, which in this sense is a dress and shoes and makeup. Makeup and hair and hair and you know And then the dinner party itself. You know, listen, it's once in a lifetime, y'all. This is only gonna happen probably every ten years. So And in ten years' time, when we're celebrating also our twentieth anniversary, we will not be here. So we can take all this money and recoup and then no. We'll be traveling. that's what you meant. Geez, that's what I meant. Sorry. and yeah. So I imagine myself somewhere like Greece or Italy or maybe both. for our for my fiftieth in ten years and our twentieth an year anniversary. That's gonna be crazy. but yeah. So that's that, y'all. that's what's coming up. We're having a dinner party. I'm going for either motorcycle riding punk Cinderella. Interesting. Or roll out of bed soho chic. That's my look. Roll out of bed soho chic not the dress you got, though. No, it is with the jacket and the shoes. That's not relative to It's all about that's the point is you're still chic. But you literally look like there was no effort. And that's the point, my friends. Same with makeup. You don't want to look like you're trying. You know what I mean? You know what mean? But the point is is that all of these you know what started this look in my brain was the was what shoes I was gonna get. It all the shoes, my friends, will determine which way I go. The shoes. The shoes. What would you like me to see? What what what what what aura essence vibe do you want me to give off? I don't know, but I with the dress and the leather jacket, I pictured not heels. I pictured something more of like a boot. Is this because I said that earlier? Like a low-cut boot. I saw low-cut boot. You would not like the price of those boots. No, no, no, because you're you're behind these staying a budget. I I and that that should be another couple's topic. Give it up for me. No, not give it up for you. You're crazy. It's hot. I'm drinking coffee. Can you just turn it Maybe that's why. Sheesh. You're drinking the coffee. I'm drinking the coffee. Kate's also drinking the Kool-Aid, thinking that she has to pay two hundred dollars for shoes. Listen, I don't know who she thinks we are. I mean, listen, listen, listen, listen here. Listen here. Listen here. It's very rare. Look, I didn't grow up once in a while, look, I I my parents provided for me. I had a wonderful life, wonderful childhood. There was not many things that I did not receive from my parents, but we were not the family to live an expensive life. Like we did not live outside our means. I did not have, you know, name brands, everything. Like I I wasn't that kid, right? It was very rare that every new school year I'd get a brand new pair of Nikes. Like I wasn't I wasn't that kid. I and not because my parents couldn't give it to me, just because I just was not that person. I materialistic things for me as a child growing up were not important. But I find as you grow older and you develop a keener sense of the things in life. It's okay to invest, to have a few articles in your closet that that are are important and and and will last a lifetime and sometimes you get what you pay for, my friend. My dad taught me that, so you have Papa Knowles to thank for that. You know, I I I I sort of slightly kinda understand what you're saying. Do you? But not really. Mr. went out and bought an entirely new outfit for his birthday, linen pants and Birken stocking. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I didn't I didn't pick out those pants. I didn't even want a new out I didn't even want a new outfit. We I know, but you got ch and and you know, you put yourself together very well. I didn't even ask for a new outfit. But I have to say, i you didn't really put much effort this year into it. And me and your sister and l sister were like, we have a vision in mind. But you went along with it, I will say, quite reluctantly at first. But then we coerced you and I think you you leaned it. See, this is your thing. I think you have to relinquish control and lean into it. I think once you let go and surrender and lean into the wonderful feeling that it is to treat yourself once in a while, you will feel so much better. I'm telling you, you'll be liberated. Well really. That's a listen. I I'm not I'm not with the the two hundred dollars for the for the shoes, man. I I I don't know. I just don't get it. Like, listen, if it's a pair of like, if it's a shoe that you're going to wear often, then I'm like, all right, well, yeah, that's a good investment because I'm gonna wear this a lot. But if it's just a random shoe that's gonna make an appearance every other event, then I don't No, it's I don't I don't know if I'm with that. No, but this is the thing. Nowadays, fashion, it there's no there's There's parameters, but I'd say the parameters of fashion are a lot more relaxed. So you could wear barrel jeans, a cute little bodysuit, and your heels that you wore with your dress in September out and not care and still look cute. I could go to a regular dinner on a Friday night with you and dress however I want. As long as I'm making myself feel good and you be attracted to me and whatever, like that's it. That's all that matters. And I think that people Say, my gosh, I spent and also too, if you spent that kind of money for an article of clothing, you should wear it more often. You should put it to use. But the real, the real hook here is that when you invest a little bit more money than you would normally spend in something, it will last you. So you won't need to go out and keep replying replenishing as if you bought your entire thing from old navy. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, Kate. I I think it's ridiculous. I'm sorry. I I I just don't guys are different though, you know. I just don't understand. Guys are different. But maybe maybe it's not for me to understand. I don't think so. And also, yeah. I see you're wearing your your old your old wedding ring here. Is it is it fitting properly? Listen, it fits here and there. I officially now have two legit ones. I got two for one basically. Yeah, that's true. Which is great. But yeah, I l listen again, Kate's birthday's coming up. It's another And our ten year anniversary. Ten year in October. It's we're not kill we haven't killed it by then. It's fine. Looking looking like a lot. listen, we knew this was gonna be an expensive couple of years. Last year you turned forty. This year I'm turning forty and we're celebrating ten years. Next year, your sister's celebrating. And my mom's turning eighty. It it is what it is, man. Sometimes a couple of years that that are full of but you know what? The way I look at it, all jokes aside, every milestone, every occurrence in life with those that you love should be celebrated and and and acknowledged. And you cannot allow things to go by just because it's like, okay, well, we'll have something next year. No, not necessarily. So you should be in the moment and you should celebrate while you can with those that you love while you can. And that will be what my birthday dinner is this year. The majority of it is gonna be your family who have now become my family, which is wonderful. Well I know that our credit cards are doing this. Just laughing at us as we go through the next few months because hilarious. It's gonna be a lot. but it's a it's it's celebration, right? I guess. But but what you're not gonna do though is tell me that because I'm s I'm having a birthday today that I'm not getting an anniversary. No. So you better you better think think really good about that. That's listen, that's and also you get this. Okay. You're getting lashed. How dare you? Jeez. How dare you? After what we're about to spend for this party and then write. This party's for me. This party's not for us. No, the gift would be probably going somewhere. That we're not buying individual gifts. Okay, that's fine. No, no, no, that's okay. I'm gonna listen. I'm not doing an individual gift. Great. we can probably find somewhere to go. Wow. How about Disney? That's how important our anniversary is. We're just gonna find somewhere to go. How about Disney? Let's go here. Disney, look, I love Disney. I'll be the first one to tell you, but I feel like be that couple that just keeps going to the same place all the time. I love Disney and I think we take advantage of it, right? But I I wanna also try something different. There's a lot of places in this world that we have not been to and have not seen. And you know, you should take a advantage of milestones and opp excuse me, opportunities to go and experience those things. That's true. That's true. And I do want to find a nice like, you know, even even one of the places we were talking about going, I'm like, it's local ish. But it's a special. It doesn't have to be special. It's exper it's doing experiences with each other. And I think, you know, experiencing something new, something different, getting out of our comfort zone in our n our normal environment, doing something, you know. We've never b another place we've talked about is going to Chicago. I've been, I've only been for work and it was the dead of January and I don't understand that still. But anyway, you know, I think it would be cool. The the Obama Presidential Center just opened up. It would be nice to see that. It would be interesting to try deep dish pizza together. You know, Chicago in the springtime or e maybe even early fall has a lot of great things to do. I think it would be cool to try something different. It doesn't have to be out of the ordinary. We just gotta we gotta stay out of the shy area. That's all I know, right? I I don't know anything about Chicago. The way the way Lena Waith portrayed that made it seem like every other block someone's getting shot. But I do know if I think Presidential Center isn't in the South Side. So I I So we're gonna have to Uber that in the w in the early morning. 9 a.m. and be out by be out by 2 p.m. Yeah. That's that's what we're gonna definitely do. Because I've never seen a great depiction of Chicago. Is this just me? I I don't know. The only thing great that I know about Chicago is two things Michael Jordan and CM Punk. That's all I know. no. The two great things from Chicago. Ooh. You know, I hope you get as much flack for that. Two great things from Chicago. That I got from Mariah versus Am I wrong. Mariah versus Christina. I'm just saying, you you need to get Michael Jordan. I mean nobody would argue that. And C and Punk. Wait, is Michael Jordan from Chicago? No, he's not from Chicago. No, he's not. But he be he's he made Chicago. Nobody nobody cared about Chicago before Jordan. Where is he from? North Carolina. okay. Interesting. North Carolina. boy. Here we go. I see him punk. I I mean for both of those I would not disagree with you at all. but no, I think there's just so many different things to experience and do out there. Even going to DC. We haven't been to see the African American Museum in DC. We haven't seen any of this stuff. No, not for our anniversary. But I'm just saying a weekend trip. Why why why did Lena Wafe never why didn't the characters in that show veer into the nicer parts of of Chicago? Like what you never saw them drive into the Dyson Park. You never saw the point of the street. I think that was the point. But it almost made it seem like that world, Chicago is this. No, I don't think no, no, no, no. I think it was the opposite. I think she did that on purpose to show to show I think it was a a a repr a symbolic representation of I think how people feel when they can't get out of their circumstances. That they're trapped within their trapped and it's and it's hard to get out and this is all you've ever known. But there are other things outside. Yeah, that's nice. That's nice to see. But she's not gonna show that that it'll go against the entire system. She did in the opening credits. Yeah, that's just that's as much as you're gonna get from That's as much as you're gonna get from the suburbs, I guess. But yeah, listen, we we got some things brewing. We'll see what happens. you know, we'll we'll see. Maybe maybe we'll maybe we'll grow a money tree in the back. Who knows? You sound You remember those old you remember those old school, like our parents saying, There's no money tree in the back. Do you see one? Like that wouldn't No, the it wasn't the money tree. It was money don't grow on trees. Money don't grow on trees. Money doesn't grow on trees, Catherine. I'm like, ooh, yikes. Can you have a full government though? If that money tree did grow outside, I mean listen. I'd be out there every night. With a poll. Stuffing the money under your pillow. Like what do you like what I'll be picking off the bills. my god. You have a real problem. all right. Well, listen, guys. it's summer's over. My birthday's on the horizon. And speaking of which, I've taken two weeks off for PTO. Look at you guys start. Give it a K PTO. Listen, y'all. When I tell you, you know, usually when I go on PTO, I have the phone. On. I have a work phone. You're quite you're crazy. No, no, no, no. That ain't PT. No, let me finish. Hold on. I do not respond to emails. I'm not working. Once in a while, every couple of days, I'll if I'm going on for a week, like when we went to Cape Cod, I brought it with me. And at the end of every night, I'd go through my emails, file stuff away, flag things that I needed. So it gave me a peace of mind that when I went back to the office, quote unquote, I was prepared, right? And I had a workflow. And it really does save your life when you're coming back to over 600, 700 emails. Okay. However, this time the phone is going off. Do not text me. Do not call me. Shoot. Don't even think about me. Don't send a carrier pigeon. Don't breathe with me on in on in the recesses of your mind. I don't want to Did you say no carrier pigeon? No carrier pigeon. Hedwig is retired. Do you hear me? I was the pigeon's name? Hedwig. Hedwig the Pigeon. Harry Potter, if you knew. that's a Harry Potter reference? Absolutely. I was gonna give you props but for some for coming up with something pretty No, all you geeks know what I'm talking about, except for K A. Anyway. No, I have no idea. boy. That's the one series I can't get into, guys. Shh Harry Potter can't do it. Shame on you. Shh. I've I've tried to watch it in the theater, fell asleep for legit the entire movie. Wait, how is that possible? It is such a brilliant, brilliant story. I woke up and credits were rolling. You know That's like two and a half hours, bro. You know what though? That's a good nap. But seriously, I grew up with Harry Potter. Like my geek of a sister loves that book. Listen, there she she got so into it. Yes. She would read those stupid books with her stupid little glasses over her nose. And she would cuddle up in her room and read them little. The biggest nerd. She collects Spice Girls lollipops. And that neat geek is making you banana bread from scratch. And and and stickers. Listen. Who knew I didn't I didn't realize how much of a geek she was until I just realized do a geek too, wrestling with your your wrestling action figures. Yes we had our quote unquote action figures. Action figures. Not dolls. action figures. And and had them, you know, positioned in certain ways. Anyway, although that could that could have been completely misinterpreted. With this. That could have been yes. No, Harry Potter was the jam, okay? I was at the I was at the Borders, which I think has been long dead and buried. I was standing in line. Did you say borders? The Borders Bookstore. Do you hear me? In White Plains. There had to be a blockbuster. In White. Of course. Okay. In White Plains, do you remember where the pavilion was? What's the pavilion? What are you talking about? Coyote, you know where if you come up the road from the Westchester Mall and you and it forks up, right? And if you go str if you fork to the left, you're going towards a Cheesecake Factory. If you fork to the right, you're going towards Mamarinak Av. And that little like area right to your left used to be the Westchester Pavilion. And it had Borders Bookstore. It had all these little shops. And my dad used to bring me to that Borders Bookstore all the time. And that is where we went to wait for Harry Potter, me and my best friend. We would go there at like 10 o'clock at night. We'd wait online. And at 12 a.m. the newest book would be released. And we would be there. You guys are suckers. It was amazing. That is the childhood. You know what I'm saying? That's what these kids are missing these days. No reading. They just click a button and now they got it. It's pathetic. You know? Nothing like a book in your hand. Not to say. Well, Kate, do you have any morning brews? Morning news for us. Yeah. What do you got? well, we're gonna get the sad stuff out of the way first. Nepal and China, man. I it is for those of you that have seen these videos, it is horrendous. I've the flooding. I don't even know if it's flooding it's at this point. I think it's they've described it as like a tsunami. Yeah, a tsunami running through this. Yeah, it's it's I don't even think they're gonna be able to count the people that are dead or missing. did you see the video? The the water coming over the building? It makes me that's what I said. It was like a tsunami. Like that's not like forget higher ground. Like there's no higher ground. Where am I going? If I'm if I can climb the type of the Yeah, like what are we doing? And it's it is so incredibly heartbreaking. obviously you have American tourists there that are traveling and sightseeing. I mean, it's horrendous. And I don't even know how and then now they're expecting more rain, which will hinder research, research rescue efforts. of people that are lost. It's just it's horrendous. it's it's really sad. Our prayers are with these people. horrible. Yeah. I don't even know like how to round that up so as we as I checked I checked terrible. The well I got an alert the other day saying there was about twenty five hundred people missing with about four hundred dead. And that number is gonna skyrocket obviously because now they're also saying there's a possibility of another wave of this somehow, but I forg I don't know the details. I don't know where it's actually coming from. But apparently this came from from a broken piece of glacier a rock that fell there there's so many different stories, but the one story I heard that was very fascinating was it from the top of a hill, a r some sort of rock or something fell into this like it was a mudslide that fell into this like pool of just glaciers and water. And that broke and then released all this water. But I don't know now where this is coming from. Some people say now because of that it broke a dam and then the dam on top of that is what we're seeing. I I don't know, man, but it is pretty brutal what what we're seeing. No, it's sad and and it's just it's devastating. And you know, to go to sleep at night and be like, you know Yeah, we get the occasional residuals from hurricanes and and and you know, we get really bad sometimes really bad winters. This past winter was horrendous. But it was cold. I mean it's it's typical winter weather, right? But you know, global warming's a real thing, y'all. And these these ice glaciers are melting and they're melting fast. And the locations of where they're at affect these countries more so than they affect us. I mean, we get obviously everything trickles down, but you just really have to like pray for people that are living in these areas and a lot of these people are of underprivileged groups that may not have the economic status to afford, you know, rebuilding. they're gonna go home to nothing. Well China China, because it's on the border, China was helping to rebuild, but then stopped the rebuild because then they got a warning of another another wave of this. So it's just devastating. And lots of tourists go to Nepal and Tibet. Nepal and Tibet because, you know, you got Everest. Yeah. And you have China and Yeah, it's it's just horrendous, it's devastating, and we definitely are keeping them in our prayers. On a different note, British provocateur Milo Yanopoulos, who built his career in America through controversial public speaking that appealed to the far right, including calls for aggressive immigration enforcement, now faces deportation from the United States. Talk about irony, huh? Talk about iron. He was detained by immigration and customs enforcement Thursday at a Louisiana airport after overstaying his visa. My friend, you overstayed your welcome. The Department of Homeland Security said the conservative figure is being held at by ICE in Louisiana, where several ICE facilities have served as the final stop for thousands of migrants in President Donald Trump's deportation push. Speaking of ICE, they were here in s well not here, but they were in Stanford yesterday. They were in Stanford yesterday. Yeah, you told me that. Not yesterday. which a little close to home, at the home depot right off exit six. there was a bunch of places, apparently. Yeah, so but apparently Yannopoulos, born to British and Greek parents, came to the US where he built a career as a conservative firebrand who leaned into controversy through his writing for the far-right website, Breitbart News, speeches, and online presence. He was an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump during his presidential campaign in 2016 and gained fans who appreciated his complete abandonment of political correctness. Many of his views drew outrage from many who argued the racist and hateful language was an attempt to stoke tensions on campus and should not be platformed by colleges and universities. yeah, so he was detained. he entered the US legally on May 14, 2019, but chose to overstay his welcome in violation, excuse me, of of our nation's laws, the DHS said in a statement announcing his arrest. the judge issued a final order of removal. On July twenty second, after he failed to appear in an immigration hearing. Bro, you're being detained. You don't have the luxury of not showing up to a to a hearing. You hear me? Like, what are you doing? so yeah, good luck, Milo. I don't know what else to tell you. what else we got? What else we got? What else we got here? US Open. Give it up for the US Open. I will be in attendance. Shut your mouth next Saturday. Right now the weather's looking like a sunny seventy-seven degree. my god. You can't beat that, man. We got the day pass all day. We're in round not he and I round three. And man, I can't wait. my God. It's gonna be great. It's gonna be great one. All right. yeah. So how childcare costs are pushing families to the brink. Mm-hmm. I can't get into this article for some reason. You know, CNN, you have these articles. CNN now has a paywall. I hate this. Yeah, and folks. I know. And I'm so upset. Also, in entertainment news, three legends this week, y'all. Well, first, we haven't done a show since we've lost the very talented Hayden Penitier. She was thirty six years old. I think causes into her of her death are still under investigation. A lot of controversy. Again, a lot of controversy with her mom right now. but you know what? I love how the death of celebrities specifically, because they're in the news already, warrant a tirade from the public on family relations. I don't care what her relationship with her mother was like. Right. Y'all have nothing better to do than troll this woman who may be terrible or may not be terrible. The fact of the matter is she has lost two children in the span of three years. Back off. Until you are in her position and you feel that grief that only a mother can feel, you don't have a right to comment on how she grieves. Do you hear me? And yeah, you can ha send me hate mail. I don't care. Wow. She may not be a nice woman. Who knows? She may not have supported Hayden. She may have made it or whatever. But the fact is shut up. But the fact is is that you don't have a right to judge. You're not in her shoes and she's lost her child. Her second child. She's lost two children. Brutal. Before the age of before they either of them were her son wasn't even thirty, and her daughter wasn't even forty. So it's just sad. The whole thing is sad. Hayden Penettier was extremely talented and it's just very, very sad. We then lost Dolly Parton. Legend. Queen of country music and and humanitarian. One of the best people ever. I mean, she loved everybody. Books to children. Now I think they're in talks of actually considering name renaming Nashville Airport to the Dolly Parton International Airport. I mean why not, right? Why not, man? Tim Curry, bro. Come on. Rocky Horror Picture Show. Clue Clue Home Alone 2. Man. And nobody remembers that he was the voice. Maybe my s nah she's not gonna know. no one remembers that Tim Curry was the voice of the evil character Kilo Gon. In what? In superhuman samurai cyberstream. I'm sorry, who watches that? That what wait hold on. That was Coyote, you just dated yourself. And that was during the age of all these these these Japanese Chinese inspired superhero TV shows. Power Rangers, Superhuman, Samurai, Cyber Squad, VR Troopers. Was it VR Troopers? It might have been VR Troopers he was there. VR Troopers was Yeah, because that's where Matthew Lawrence was. He was in VR Troopers. No, he was superhuman. Wait. He was also in VR Troopers. Matthew Lawrence was in VR Troopers if I'm remembering that correctly. I But wait, we're digressing. Are you looking that up right now? Yes, go ahead. While I moisturize my lips. Okay. speaking of that, you look that up and verify. Trust and verify. Trust and verify. KiloGone. Okay. Yep. Tim Curry voiced the evil computer virus, KiloGone, in the 1990s live-action animated, syndicated series, Superhuman Samurai Cyber Squad. boy. Which I believe was Matthew Lawrence's Matthew Lawrence's show. All right. Well, moving on. you've verified that for the Where are the people that remember that show? I'm sorry. It wasn't I'm not one of them. But Megan, Duchess of Sussex. They move. They are moving back to the UK. They're there now. I don't think they're gonna be there for long, but they're the return date to the US is not set. However, they are not giving up their Montecito, California home. They now have two children. Do they have two now or three? I could have sworn she was pregnant with the third. They have two. But they are heading back to England. and I know that even though ha Harry has given up his royal whatever status, I guess you could say, his father is welcoming him home. Yeah, but he he he's getting a little something so I mean let's let's be honest here. Let's be honest. Nah, the Brits Love you all, but the prints are cheap. Prince Char cut King Charles has cut him off. Do you hear me? No way. You are nauseous. So are you saying the money Harry has is either from inheritance and or whatever he did in Hollywood with his production company with Megan? That's all he's got? Is that you're saying there's no funneling of money from the royal family? There is no active funds coming from the royal family. I don't believe that. I do. Absolutely. I don't believe that. Absolutely. Clearly, listen, there's He's a prince by blood. You can how can you shut me down? Look how what they did to King Charles's brother. And that was warranted. But that homeboy is not I get it, but he ain't living in the projects of London. Are you kidding me? He's a he's a I'm sorry. We're gonna downsize your castle. Are you okay, yeah. Instead of a hundred rooms, you get twenty-five. And now he's a poor paup pauper. Like, twenty-five. That's that's a big difference. There's no way. I don't believe any of that. Like you are a You are royalty by blood. By blood, yes, not status. That's the difference. You have to understand something. The UK is based very heavily on caste and status. So that is the worst thing that could happen to you is having that status removed. He is no longer referred to as Prince Harry. That status is gone. So anyway, back to Megan. she's possibly joining the third season of Guy Richie's the Gentleman. Which shoots in the UK. A person familiar with ongoing discussions tells C then. Well, discussions are ongoing. No deal is in place. The gentleman, which stars English actor Theo James, has not yet officially been renewed for a third season. So what are we doing then, guys? Why are we talking about this as a possibility? If it's not even renewed and y'all are talking about whatever. boy. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Being offered a part and the gentleman cautioned that the conversations are hypothetical at this point, and noted that no role has been identified so far. let's go, let's go, let's go. so Megan has put her acting career on hold in twenty eighteen after getting engaged to Harry while she was starring as Rachel Zane, the hardworking paralegal turned attorney on Suites. I mean, i i it it wasn't a career. It was a g it was a gig. All right. She got a gig on Yeah, I'm I'm reading an act. I'm reading a an article. It's not that bad. First of all, Megan Mark will be getting a lot of hate and I don't understand. She lived in Montecito. I don't under I mean what are we talking about? I don't understand the level of hate that Megan Mark will be getting, I don't get it. Okay. I don't understand it. I don't understand, man. I don't get it at all. I think people wrongly have have put her into this category of of poisoning Prince Harry against his family, which I think is absolutely ludicrous. If she was British, that argument would have never even surfaced. The fact that she's black and she's American has a lot to do with it. And I am convinced of that. And I think it's a a shame. It's a real, real shame that she hasn't been given the the benefit of the doubt. Do you think Queen Elizabeth started to like her? I think Queen Elizabeth was so damn old at that point, she didn't care. I don't think she cared. The woman ran the United Kingdom. She was the longest reigning monarch, I believe. Of all time. Of all time. I don't I in her eighties and nineties, you think she cared? I don't think she cared. I think she liked it. She was happy with her dogs and she called it a day. I don't think she cared. I think she was like, meh, what a way to go to. Just old and in your sleep. She died in her sleep, right? Yeah. Yeah. Old in your sleep, you know. Lived a heck of a long like the people she's come across and the people like the things she's seen and her just I it's just incredible. I would have I would have just loved to just sit and talk stories with her. you know, I don't think she's with much for talking. I don't my ancestors back in the day had a couple of you in the kitchen. That was a couple of you. Maybe your ancestors. She would say that to you like that with your Maybe your ancestors. And we loved them. But we took over everything. We ran the world. Every single thing the light touches, we owned. Yeah, that's how she would say it. That's how she would say it. Yeah, that's her story. And he'd be like And I'd be like, Wow, this is intriguing. Hey QE2, you sound familiar because that came from a Disney movie. So I don't know what you're saying. Really quick. Netflix sued over K pop Demon Hunters by Christian Metal Band. Really? Yeah. Why? I don't know. It it I think everybody's suing everybody right now. And honestly, it's If it looks successful, yeah, it's so dumb. We're gonna sue and we're gonna try we're gonna we're gonna try to get something out of you. Dumb. But yeah, that's that's all I got, guys. We'll give it a for K. I did wanna add one more thing. I didn't even get an applause. Kwanzaa Jones, along with her husband Jose E. Feliciano, took over ownership of the Padres in a three point nine billion sale from John Seidler and his family earlier this month. The pair were introduced in the media in San Diego on Monday, and it's safe to assume that Jones is rather excited about this about this this this endeavor that and and because it's a three point nine not even just because it's a three point nine endeavor, but her and her husband now are black ownership in baseball, which is give it up. I don't know too much about Kwanzaa Jones and her husband. But this was this was big in the news in terms of another representation in in sports and having the San Diego Padres, I'm not too crazy familiar about f baseball, but owning a baseball team nowadays and being a black couple is pretty solid, pretty big. so giving up for them, y'all. That then that was Kate's morning brews, morning news. Listen, y'all, keep it locked in. We have a we have our couple topic of the week for y'all. Woo! That's a good one. Keep it locked in, y'all. Yes y'all, welcome back, welcome back. We're back. A little Little Rick James. Rick Games. Why do you say it like that? That's because that's how we used to say it. is it? Rick Games. wow. Yikes. All right. Rick Dames. I'm looking at the weather for next week. Like in the look, this is how you know summer is over. In the mid to high seventies, not a speck of rain. I'm here for it. Give it up for summer being over. Okay. Give it up for something. Kate, you know, slight plug for the spot core called Nourished. hold the hold the butt up. okay. Maybe we'll get maybe we've got sponsorship. nourished, I will tag you and please repost this. we're we're drinking the PB and J protein drink and I gotta say it's damn solid. Give it up for nourished Stanford, Connecticut. High Ridge Road and the Bullheads area complex thingy. Next to Cole. What is that? What's that pizza? Do you know bullhead's not just that complex? Bullhead is the area. Is the area. Yeah. You learned something new. But nourished, they got, listen, they're they're full, they're clean as hell. I'm gonna tell you that right now. All right. first form products and They got smoothies, they got drinks, they got they got protein drinks, they got snacks, they got the hummus fit food in there also, which is which is actually very tasty. Yeah. yeah, first of all. which is very tasty. And it's like your one stop shop for everything that you need in terms of health and nutrition and all that good stuff. It's a spot on High Ridge, High Ridge Road. definitely check it out. Stanford, Connecticut, Bullheads area. right next to what is that pizza place called? I can't remember what is that called I have no idea. I don't know. Fire truck pizza. What is that? Not fire truck. What? All I know is all I know is Kenpai is there in that same area. The the Chinese spot. very good spot. Why did you say it like that? Don't don't do it again. Like anyway, moving on. What Kenpai? Yeah, stop. Don't do Anyway, moving on to our couple's topic. But that's how I say it. All right. I just don't need you to say it like that again. on to our couple's topic. Yes, y'all. Give it up for the couple's topic of the week. We got a good one for you guys. Kate, what is it? Well, I'm gonna say it like this. So, you know, we're married, obviously. the only reason why we phrase this question to reflect partner is because when you're married and you develop friends as a married couple, you know, it doesn't the question is Do you like do you have to like your partner's friends? The reason why we use partner is because we're assuming that be f like your friends before you get married, right? Your friends from your life before you join into a union, right? It's not necessarily you know, so that's what we mean. And what happens when you this is a two a twofer. Okay. What happens when you really don't like one of them? Ooh. Yikes. Wow. That's This is a tricky one. Now, I will say, I've never I've never not liked any of Kate's friends. Likewise. Yeah. Except one, but that I never liked? No, me. That you didn't like? Yeah, it was it's pointless to even mention, really. Do I know the person? Of course you do. Well, yeah, of I the person. Not close. Are they still around? No, not really. Do I n have you told me this before? I have. That you don't like this person. Wasn't fond. It's a gentleman. Yes. Not not who not too. Not anybody that's part of your circle. Anymore. Yeah. It's it's dusted. I know exactly who this is. Yeah. Okay. Well wasn't fond, but I mean, to not like, I think is harsh, right? Like me. wasn't fond of the first impressions or everything, didn't create a good one. Just saying. And that's true. Now listen, you do not, in my opinion, have to like your partner's friends. but it does it helps, but it does make things a little tricky. Especially if you're not married yet. If you're not married yet, then if the friends that your partner has is a deal breaker, then you can just leave and be like, peace out, listen, this is just ain't working, which is to me a little silly, but everyone's not gonna get along. Right? I don't know. There's gonna be dynamics of friendships that you just don't get and you just don't want to be around. Well, it's that aspect, but it's also how is that person influencing Right? Because your life before you meet someone is you weren't around for all parts of my life, and likewise. So how are the people that you've had in your circle who maybe have been part of your circle before you've matured or become a different version of yourself, but you're still friends with them because they're a good person? How have they influenced your life? And I think if your partner, they're not the be all and end all, but if you are planning on making a life with this person and your partner says to you, I don't r and sees things that maybe you don't, right? From being on the outside. Does that count for anything? I don't think it's as simple as like I'm dating you for two years and we're planning on getting married and it's like, okay, well, peace out, I'm out. Like, no, I don't think it's that simple. I think it's I know how important this person is to you, but maybe the dynamics of the friendship may have to change if we're gonna get married. And that's hard. Now, you know, that is true. Now there is now there's situations where let's say Kate, I did have a female friend before marriage and she's a close, close friend of mine. But you happen not to like her. That didn't happen. No, I know. But let's say that was the scenario. How do we handle that? Like, let's say she's been a friend for twenty years. There'd have to be some like real legit reason why though. Like if I don't just like you because you're loud or obnoxious, we can deal with that. But like if there's a disrespect thing going on or a boundary crossing thing going on, that's different, right? I mean, I'm not gonna ask you to get rid of someone in your life. Who may just be a little quirky and weird, and you have a whole history with them, and then I come in. I'm I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about, hey, we have a future planned. I see things that I may not care for, and how are we gonna navigate this as a as a married couple? I think that's important. not saying that you get rid of your friends. I mean, I had a conversation with one of my close friends when I got married. I said, Look, you you can always come to us for anything. We're now a partnership if you need us, if you need support, because she was not married. or in a relationship at that time and I said, but I'd be remiss and i I didn't just randomly say it, we were having a conversation, but I said, you know, I'd be remiss to say share that, you know, I'm getting married and things are gonna change. The dynamic I'm always gonna be there for you. I'm always gonna be able to s to listen to you and be your friend, but the dynamics will shift because now I'm getting married. And I think that's what people don't understand is when you get married, that level of commitment is different. It's not even like just dating someone. It's no, like this is serious. So I think people that are in your lives, especially your friends that may not be married, I think they need to understand that and they need to respect that. That's true. Now what now did we touch upon what happens if we really don't like one of them? Like let's say you had a buddy right now, a friend right now that I really didn't like. Does that cause you to then not speak to that person again? Say that again. Let's say you have a friend right now that I didn't like, really. Would that make you not speak to that person? I think there would have to be a conversation. If they didn't do anything egregio I mean, when you do not speak to someone or cut them off like that, I think there has to be a I'm well, number one, I am not the type of person to cut anybody off. Unless unless I know. that's not how I'm wired. There either has to be some type of conversation or closure. I've only done it once in my life and I didn't have any qualms or regrets. But I think I think the conversation needs to be had and I think you really need to weigh the reason behind that. you know, cutting someone off is is drastic and dramatic. And I think it has to have a good reason. You don't to me, you don't just cut people off 'cause you get tired of them or they're whatever. Like it's like, nah, like you're you're poisonous to who I am or to my relationship and we don't I don't want anything in to do with you. But also just because you may ha make a concentrated decision to do that does not mean that you cannot still grieve the end of that relationship. and I think that's important to note because that person once meant something to you. I do say and I don't think I've even answered the question yet. I do think well I did slightly, but I do think that if I didn't like your friends, I think I that would be definitely not a deal breaker. But there like you said, there has to be some reason Like they're changing who you are, or they are negative influences. There has to be a drastic reason for me to think that. And me, my personality, if I don't like you, that's that says a lot. there's something wrong. There's something going on where I feel something in my spirit. Well, about you. I think also, too, you know, being Christians, having the gift of discernment, I think you have to be very careful as well. You know, there's always a thing where before you become saved, before you give your life to Christ, before you are held responsible for living a different type of life that reflects l God, I think you have to understand that there are relationships that were part of your life that may demand a different take. And I think if you have people in your life that truly respect you and will respect you in all aspects and phases of your life, they will understand that. And things may change, but I think ultimately there will be a level of respect. If they do not respect how you are changing or adapting or growing in a positive way, then they're probably not your friends. And then you make the decision to end that relationship. Yeah, I guess that's yeah. Because you know, i especially being married, all our friends are now intertwined with each other. Like we all like there's you know. Yeah, you know. Yeah. I I wouldn't even say at this point in our lives we have those people that we would consider Best friends, right? No, we definitely don't. Not as a married couple. hey, we're in the market, guys. No, I'm just kidding. I think that is also very, very, I don't, you know, entering a new decade. I feel like it's important to be picky about who you have in your life. Be choosy. not to the point it's a detriment where you're like, okay, there's something wrong with this because nobody's perfect. Okay, we all have something going on. but Now you're responsible for somebody else in a marriage, right? So you want to make sure that whomever you guys are including in your circle, there's a it it takes time. There's a level of trust there that you have to establish before you start introducing them to family. If you have kids before you start bringing them into your home. Even if you don't have kids before you start bringing them into your home, you know, if you're Christians, if you walk with the Lord, making sure that they're like minded, that they can uphold you and encourage you. We have two friends, neighbors of ours that have become friends, and it's beautiful because. They've reached out to us and said, Hey, how can we pray for you? And we've never really had friends like that. and it's I think it's a beautiful, beautiful thing to be able to very openly talk about your faith, and and and be vulnerable enough to share things that you may need prayer for. And that can't be done with everybody. so shout out to our neighbors. Give them a give them a shout They know who they are. Yeah. Well, you know, this is a this is a this is an interesting topic, Kate, because you know As we all know, some people value their friendships so much that it could bleed into the relationship and they could pick the friend in some aspect. You don't think I think some people would pick the friend. That's extreme. You don't think some people would pick the friend? Not if you have a solid I think they think they're If you have solid core sense of who you are, I don't I don't think you're picking a friend over your over your I hope listen. I hope not. Over your partner, that's different. If you're married, there's no excuse for that. I think unless you're in a marriage that's completely volatile and abusive and your friend's trying to get to you and get you to see the light, that's different. But you know, if your friend is not n negatively influencing you and your partner's coming to you and being like, Hey, I've seen a shift in your demeanor, your friendship, or you know, whatever, then you owe it to your partner to listen. a conversation should be had, should be understood. you may need to weigh on it, but At the end of the day, your partner should come first. and sometimes you don't, you know, hindsight's twenty twenty. Sometimes you don't realize things until you've come through it. but listen, friendships can be be tricky. You don't necessarily need to have partner friendship partners are are important, but also you have independent friendships like individuals, right? I have women friends, he has guy friends, it's different. so yeah. Could I have a woman friend that I just meet? Nope. Today. Nope. No. Nope. So no w no women friend today. Absolutely not. Not because of you. Not because of me. Absolutely not. And you know why? This is what I said to him when I met Excuse me. I got a little like I think chia seed in that protein smoothie. you know, he had a lot of women friends from his acting days, from from school, from you know, all there was a whole group of them. And I said, listen, any friends that you have from your from your young adulthood Adolescents that are still around. I have no issue with that. You you've built a a history with them, right? But as a married couple, and that goes both ways. Absolutely not. If she invited me to a Knicks game, that would be weird for you. That'd be no. It wouldn't be weird. It would be a no. And I would tell her. You don't need to, don't worry. I'm not that wife. I'm not that I'm not that wife. I'm not that woman. I don't get jealous. Okay, every woman is that. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's not because of jealousy, it's because of it's because of boundaries. You are a woman. I am a woman. I am married. That is an absolute no. Go get yourself a man and take him to a Knicks game. I don't have time for that. Absolutely not. That's that's stupidness. Which is buddies. In the Caribbean, there's a term when you say something stupid, it's stupidness. And I don't have time for that stupidness. Do you hear me? No. No. No, no, we're not buddies. Your buddy, I'm your buddy. Me're my buddy. Me is your buddy. I am your buddy. Nah. Absolutely not. And you know, I think it goes to say there's a double standard with men and women, because a man would be the first one to be like, yeah, exactly. That's an absolute nut. Exactly. Because we know how men are. And we know how women are. So listen is not all women. A man is not legit trying to be a friend. I'm sorry. And neither is a woman. I don't see that I don't think so. I don't know. Yeah, exactly. hell no. No, absolutely not. Weird Barbie face and everything. Listen, I'm just saying If she was a buddy and she was like, listen. Nope. Absolutely. Your husband is a great guy. He, you know, I got these tickets. And how about she came to you? It was like, I got these tickets, and it's his birthday, and I just want to, you know, take him to a game. No. No. Almost I almost curse. I said no. And you go like I said, go get yourself some friends that are of the same sex. Go get yourself you know, and not even of the same sex. If you have a single man friend and you're a single woman, hey, go have at it. Now here's a good point. What if she's married also? No. No. What why are you blessing someone other woman's husband when you have a husband? I'm just 'cause a I'm a good buddy. No. No, absolutely not. No. He's my bone. Bless me. Bless me. How about you give me the tickets and then we can share How about that? How does he take you to the sit down, that's inappropriate. No, no. This is the thing, right? Nobody, nobody, nobody, no woman should be talking directly to This might be old school, okay? And I'm probably won't get some hate. If we're if there's four of us and we're out to dinner and we're hanging out, yes, obviously, I mean you can talk to I'm I'm not like that. I'm not saying you can't talk to my man and have a conversation. No. There will be no individual talking, individual texting, hanging out, driving somewhere together. No, no, no long drive. Appropriate. There will be no arguing directly with my man. My man will not be arguing indirectly with the woman. No, no, no, no, no. No, you sound dumb. No. Get out of here. No. Now that's where I draw the line. I don't have many things that I'm like, as a woman, I don't have many things that I'm dead set against. But that is a no. You wanna see me get you wanna see me You know the Bugs Bunny? You s you know the Bugs Bunny? If you hear vibrations, it's because we have the audience listeners weighing in. If you know Bugs Bunny, the meme where he's like, nope. Have you seen that one? No. Let me send it to you. You're gonna send me the buttons, bunny. Yeah, and and and and and it's hilarious. And it's actually okay, okay, okay, okay. All right. Let me let me let me ask you something. No, you can stop with how about No no. How about if it was a w female friend who I've known for 20 years before the marriage? No. You cannot hang out individually with her. You can still have her as a friend. We can go to dinner, whatever. She can come over with me around. You know, well, you know one friend that I'm close to. Like very she different. Very, very, very yeah, she's a little bit. Th very c very clearly here. I think that when you become married, the boundaries are different. Yeah. Okay? Their boundaries are different. If if, you know, like I just think the boundaries are Yeah, it's accurate, isn't it? It's accurate. I you see that tongue on the roof of the mouth? Now no Now you said the other friend is different. Not naming names of course. No no in terms of, hey, like to take you out for your birthday, happy birthday sort of thing. That friend is different. I prefer it when your male friend accompanies you. But is it that big is it No, it's not a huge deal because I also know her and I know her heart. Is it also would it make a difference if she looked like a Megan Good versus That's mean. No. She's a good looking girl. If no, if if would it make a difference if the woman was the friend No, I don't think it has to do like a I don't think I don't I think it plays into it for a guy, but I think as a woman, no man who is in a committed relationship, mostly married, should be having dinner, hanging out with a woman who is single by themselves. That is inappropriate. Period. End of story. I'm just asking questions because I know the I know the audience would like to know. What? That just in general. Where do they if they are in the situation, where do they lie in terms of female friends from past? I think I've made that very new if they're married. If they're dating. I think we covered a why we've We have, I think, yeah. And I think when you hang out with that friend that we've referenced and your male friend, the three of you who went to college together and he's around, it's different. Although when you've hung out with her by yourself, I've never really had an issue. And I'm not gonna pretend that I have, because she's a sweetheart, she's she's been with a friend of yours for a very, very long time. I know her. You know, I have no issue with that. I really don't. and I'm not gonna pretend I do for the conversation. So she she's very, very sweet. but yeah. I think otherwise, you know, it's just it it's inappropriate. It's weird. And you know, you have to set those boundaries with your friends. And I think again, same thing with your faith, right? Anything that you talk to your friends about as you change and you navigate relationships, if they are truly your friend and they truly respect you and they truly still want to be part of your life, they will respect that. True. True. So that's our couples topic, y'all. Listen, y'all, that was a couples topic, a a very good one. Listen some some people need to know. Some people just need to know where they lie in terms of friendships, how it should go, all that good stuff. Exactly. keep it locked in, y'all, because we have a what we watching segment. You know? Not a super, not a super ton, but just enough. Keep it locked in, y'all. What? I don't think I've ever heard it before. I played it and you said, What is this? Oops. You have no respect for the time. Morris Day. The time. No respect. We're back, y'all. Saturday. We just had a great couples topic. Look out for the clips coming at y'all everywhere. It was good. I liked it. I was into it. Now we have a what we are watching, folks. Give it up. What we are watching right now, y'all. I kinda got nothing that I'm personally watching. I'm trying to get well, I am trying to get into lanterns. I'm sorry, what? Lanterns, the Green Lantern TV show on on HBO Max. Very, very you could tell they spent some money on this. Wow. Jeeze, tell me how you really feel. don't you bring up that blue big button? No, no, no. I'm not gonna hit you with the butt with the button box. not the button box. but it's very, very well done. but your boy has only been able to get through the first 20 minutes of the show. That's how you know it's not good. No, no, it's not because it's not good. Not because it's not good. I know you so well, Coyote, and you know, no, no. You give up on shows. I know, I know how you are. Bro. No. When you don't like a show and I have to keep like being like, let's watch another episode, and you're like, Or I'm like, all right. You did that to with rider with with Ride or Die or whatever it was called with with Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer. I thought you were in it. You left me out hanging to dry. And then I had to catch up and watch the entire thing. And then you had the audacity to come out and say to me, You're watching it without me. No. Yeah, I'm watching it without you. I did not hate the show. I just wasn't fully Committed. Now this I'm committed to because it's the DC universe. I'm curious to see what they're gonna do with it. It stars Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre. who and it's just it's it's a lot of story because it's telling us the story of the lanterns around the galaxy and who the it's a lot of stuff going on. I just don't know if I care enough about the Green Lantern story. That's where I'm at. But I feel like I have to I feel like I have to watch it because this could lead into other DC story spin-offs that at some point I'm probably gonna need to know about this. So I'm trying to get through it. Yeah. I'm trying to get through it. I I don't not interested, but also I sorry. I am I'm you know, I have to say I feel a little like you do right now because there's a show it was only on for two seasons a couple of years ago, Starling Kaylee Coco, Chris Messina, Tom Bateman. called Based on a True Story. it's a dark comedy about a couple who's experiencing financial hardships and she's into true crime podcasts, and then you know, there's a serial killer on the loose in their area, and then he winds up randomly being their plumber, and so they decide to He's randomly their plumber? Yeah. They decide they figure out that he's the quote unquote West Side Ripper, and they decide to pull him in on a deal to create a podcast, and they would keep his history under wraps, right? And I have to say the first season was good. the second season is dragging for me a little bit, and now I know why it was canceled. So I I'm sorry, Kaylee. But honestly, I'm not I don't know if I'm into it. I've gotten through episode three and I'm like, But you know what also does that to me? Knowing that there's no more seasons, I don't know if I'm invested now. I don't care enough. Because you're not gonna answer any of my questions about the cliffhangers that I know are inevitably coming. So why do I care? Why am I finishing it? In two seasons. What could you possibly do in two seasons? Okay, here's the other thing about this show. Why why How are you blackmailing a serial killer? That's number one. And what is his purpose on the show? Is he pre- is he being the serial killer on the show? On the on their podcast? Like he's revealing, he's not revealing literally his name and who he is, but he's they're getting a perspective. They're interviewing a serial killer on their podcast, which no other true crime podcast in the show has done yet. They're just talking about true crime podcasts. Podcast, right? So, but they're actually interviewing the West Side Ripper. He just is not his voice is disguised and stuff, so they figured they'd go viral for that. And it's very quirky, it's cutesy, you know, dark comedy, but I don't honestly know if I care enough to finish season two. Wow. Yeah. I don't I it's It seems so gung-ho about this. I know. I wasn't gung ho. I just I was listening to Kaylee Kuoko on Smartless Podcast, shameless plug, with Jason Bateman. Will Arnett and Sean Hayes, which is honestly one of my favorite podcasts. I just randomly started listening to and I like, wow, this is great. and they have guests. And so she was one of them, and they re aired her show from a couple of years ago and she was talking about it because she'd just started filming. and I was like, let me give it a shot because I wasn't watching anything at the moment. But it's kind of disappointing. It's just me. Really? Yeah, you know. well, there goes that one. Yeah, sorry about that. But we're watching Ted Lasso, season four. Ted Lasso's still good, man. Still good. It is still good. It is following the same formula as this as the previous seasons, which is fine. Which is fine. I do want something more. I'm thinking like But it doesn't need to because it it is Ted Lasso. The reason why it doesn't need to is because I believe that the audience love Ted Lasso for what it was. And to do anything more, they didn't want Ted Lasso coming back. To be different or do something more. They just wanted more of Ted Lasso. Right. So you could do another season ex almost exactly in parallel to what the other seasons were, and people will be satisfied. Because I think it was it was America's sweetheart, that show. Everybody loved the dialogue, the wittiness, the relationships, the acting. Everybody loved it. And I think they just wanted more. So however they decide to do it, if it's kind of the similar par storyline, go for it. I don't care. I just want more Ted Lasso in my life. Yeah, Roy Kent, Kenny Jones. I come on. It's solid. The writing is good. What I love about that show, Kate, is that Ted comes off as this lovable, heartfelt He's so good, great guy who can just pretty much connect with anybody at any time in their lives and just kind of get them. Yeah. And what I like also about it is that he's dealing with an all woman soccer team and In the last episode they had this big brawl in the bar and he still showed him being a tough coach by making them run to back to the restaurant to clean. Mm-hmm. And the women had respect for that and did it. Yeah. Like the team knew that he is coach and what he's saying goes. And I like that he still kept that that there is that also. Like it it shows that, hey, I can I can I can talk to you and and and you can tell me anything and I'll relate and I'll help you out and all that stuff. But at the same time, I am coach and this is how it goes. Y'all messed up and now you're gonna run back. Right. Like I like And you know what's funny is the women's team in this ser season doesn't don't necessarily give him the hard time that he had when the show first aired with the men's team. Well yeah. It was a harder in for him. And I don't know if it was because he really didn't know anything about f quote unquote football, AK soccer Or if it's you know guys just hazing him and being like, okay, who's this dude? Well no, I think it's different. I think he's proven now. Yeah, but the girls don't know that. Of course they know that. They know who Ted Lasso is. He coached the men's team. yeah, I guess, yeah, yeah, yeah. That makes sense. I guess he's known now. He's he's looked at as a guy. Like he's made. He's made he's made. He's not made. And and people love him and they understand who Ted is and he's changed that entire culture of that locker room from the from the owner on down. Everyone is different because of him. Everyone loves Ted. Also, speaking of the word maid, you know what I need in my life? I need another mob drama. Where's the first of all, where's mob land? Mobland's the drama. I don't need that to come out, but that's the Irish mob. Okay, still dangerous. But I need a good old Italian mob drama. Do you hear me? I I I don't need you to follow and and try to be the Sopranos. Nothing will ever be the Sopranos, but I need something to come back. I think we did it all. That or cartel. I need a good cartel drama. I could do a cartel joint. Yeah, I love a good cartel drama. I could do a cartel drama. I I think also I need I need organized crime in my life. I'm sure. I'm not yeah, you know, I I kind of agree. I mean it's just it's riveting, you know? I agree. Riveting. I agree. speaking of riveting, we we would be remo remiss if we didn't talk about my name. So good. Zoe needs to win an Emmy for this. Yeah. I'm I'm almost convinced. Especially this season. Yeah. Like Yeah, absolutely. I don't know if it's flying under the radar because it's not super promoted like that if you're not within the paramount world or under. I just don't you don't see it a lot. You don't hear people really leaning in on it. When you when you have a cast like that, you don't really need to promote it. It promotes itself. No, you need you need promotion. No, you got Morgan Freeman, Nicole Kidman, Zoe Seldania, Terr Taylor Sheridan himself. I mean, you'll have a whole slew of of known actors, w award winning actors. Morgan Freeman's an Oscar winner. They're all Oscar winners. Yeah, I mean, come on. So I don't know, season three is just it's great. it's by far, I think, one of the best. Yeah, man. It's so good. It is so good. So good. Taylor Sheridan this is probably me probably my favorite show he's done. Yeah. because I mean well, I don't know, nineteen twenty listen you didn't I'm sorry, that of of what I like. Well true, but you didn't even well you didn't give nineteen twenty three a chance. I didn't watch Yellow Space. Now that's a show that only had two seasons, but I'm telling you right now, those two seasons blew me out of the water. Season two nineteen twenty three? Yeah. And all you need to watch the second season? No, you didn't. All again. yeah, I'll watch it with you and then I was left to my own devices. I had no choice. Do you hear me? No. it was so good. But all you needed was two seasons. 1883. All you needed was one season. It set the story. And you know what? I I appreciate Taylor for that. Because what you're not gonna do is take up more of my time by creating three or four series with five thousand seasons, twenty thousand episodes. I don't have time for that, Taylor. Give me one season, pack it to the punch, move on. he's very talented. Yeah, the show very talented. The information or whatever research he's getting on CIA and all this stuff is just Fascinating to me. Yeah. And the show is outstanding from the acting to the action. You could tell there's there's money being spent on that. The only thing I have to say, and I don't know if it's her character. Nicole Kidman is so incredibly dry. I can't, I don't know what it is. Maybe it's because her face doesn't move. I don't know, like she's had so much work done. Yeah, she's had a lot of work done. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love you, girl. You're so talented. She's had a lot of work done. But like, goodness, there's no emotion. And I and again, I know it it's probably the character, right? She can't afford to be emotional. She's in the CIA, whatever, whatever. But like, there's no she's a very flat character. There's no depth to her. It's very, very except for the last scene in the last episode where she was talking to h her watching. But even then her face doesn't move. But I guess Yeah, it's just weird. I don't know if that's a Nicole Botox thing or if it's a character thing. I don't know what's going on, but I the k she's my least favorite character on the show. Yes. but the guy that plays her boss, I forgot his name in real life, but he was in House of Cards and I fell in love with him then. He plays kind of very similar characters in multiple different shows. But he is so it works for him though. Like the typecast works for him. He's so good in it. I can't remember his name. Help me out here. Help a girl out. Whoa, what's his name? Lion Yeah, you look it I love immediate instant gratification. Yeah, you look it up, Kate, because Michael Kelly. Michael Kelly. Yeah, he he's fantastic. Yeah. I first saw him in House of Cards, the American version. and he is just excellent. I love him. Every time I see him in a role, I'm with it. But yeah, Lioness streaming on Paramount Paramount Plus, Ted Lasso, based on true story, maybe not. yeah, that's what we're watching currently. Some docs, some docs. You gotta always you gotta always rotate a documentary in there. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, man, that I watched the Idaho wait, wait, we'll be for real quick. I I did watch the newest documentary on the Idaho College for a murder. Yo. Homeboy and they just appe they're trying to appeal his guilty verdict and give him a murder trial. He Homeboy had n I mean, killing anyone, I think, is a little egregious, but he didn't know them. He walked into their house in the middle of the night and killed four college students. Yeah. F out of nowhere, bro. Nowhere. And he was a grad student at Washington State University, which was a three or I think two or three hour drive from Idaho. And it was it was cra it's crazy. Four college students asleep in the middle of the night after a night of partying, getting their drunk food, like you know, we've all done. And Going to sleep, getting up for probably a class tomorrow, and done. Killed. Wiped out. Wow. And and there were two other girls in the house. And it was weird because the other girl who had a bedroom downstairs said she heard something and she opened the door and he walked past her and he literally looked at her and kept walking. And first of all, I don't know what she believes, but I know that's the hand of the Lord. Because there's no way you come into a house and murder four kids and And look at someone else. And you had an opportunity to kill her too, but you didn't. There were two others and they heard something going on. They were texting each other. They were terrified. They were in their rooms, locked the doors, and you know, whatever was going on, they could hear their they could hear their roommates running around trying to escape him, or s they heard screaming. And it was like, what do you do? Like, you know, the guy had a knife. Like, what it would have slaughtered all of them. I don't even understand, like, w it's just. It's tragic. It's terrifying. It's can you imagine? And it reminds me of a girl that I went to high school with. and when we went to college, she was going into her sophomore year, into her junior year, I believe, and she was r savagely murdered. Same situation. She lived off campus in a house with her roommates, she came home late from a s from a shift and it was a home invasion, and he violated her, he killed her, and then set the house on fire. Wow. She was the only one at home though. and then he set up he set fires multiple houses across the street to distract from the fact that he thought he could get away, get rid of the evidence. So, but he didn't. And he's on death row. Good. Yeah. In Delaware. This is a man. Yep. It's crazy. It's crazy out here. Lots of documentaries to watch. my gosh. I get told. A documentary would bring my mood down so bad. No, but it's just like you get sucked in. I know. I know, but I'm like, And then you sit, you sit it at the you're sitting at the TV and you're like, How could you not think about that? How could you and it's like, girl, relax. Like you weren't in their situation. Yeah. well, listen, y'all. That is what we are watching.
