062: Spent

WEBVTT
1
00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:03.000
What's going on, man? How was your couple weeks?
2
00:00:03.000 --> 00:00:09.000
Well, Mr. Peterson.
3
00:00:09.000 --> 00:00:15.000
Let's not tell him. Let's not tell him yet.
4
00:00:15.000 --> 00:00:26.000
I don't know what you're talking about, so we will need you to explain that situation. But, yeah. Do you know who Mr. Peterson is?
5
00:00:26.000 --> 00:00:28.000
I'm gonna guess Scott Peterson.
6
00:00:28.000 --> 00:00:44.000
No, but. Oh, yeah, let's. No, you know what? What a win. Win. How about. How about. How about you be. You be Michael. I be Scott.
7
00:00:44.000 --> 00:00:46.000
Michael Scott.
8
00:00:46.000 --> 00:00:51.000
No. Yeah, but no. Michael Peterson and Scott Peterson.
9
00:00:51.000 --> 00:00:56.000
Oh, okay. You're gonna have to tell me who these people are.
10
00:00:56.000 --> 00:01:05.000
You know who Scott Peterson is? Yeah, yeah. Michael Peterson is the guy who's like, wife allegedly fell down the stairs.
11
00:01:05.000 --> 00:01:08.000
Oh, that's right. But, like, two wives.
12
00:01:08.000 --> 00:01:12.000
Yeah. Both allegedly fell down the stairs. Yeah. Real slick cat.
13
00:01:12.000 --> 00:01:19.000
Yeah. Yeah, I like this guy.
14
00:01:19.000 --> 00:01:22.000
All right, so what was your question?
15
00:01:22.000 --> 00:01:27.000
I'm trying to find my notes that I made back when.
16
00:01:27.000 --> 00:01:28.000
Hey.
17
00:01:27.000 --> 00:01:28.000
Okay, sorry.
18
00:01:28.000 --> 00:01:29.000
Let me ask you.
19
00:01:28.000 --> 00:01:30.000
I just didn't want to be distracted with that.
20
00:01:30.000 --> 00:01:40.000
How's your time been with the business and. And the wax and how's. How's all that going or the oil?
21
00:01:40.000 --> 00:01:57.000
It's good. I've got three people now trying it. They're giving me good reviews. Been working on the landing page. Not much to do on that. You know, I kind of did all that already.
22
00:01:57.000 --> 00:02:01.000
I feel like you said all this last time, like, two weeks ago.
23
00:02:01.000 --> 00:02:20.000
Yeah. I had one guy trying this, the sample, and I was actively working on the landing page. Now I'm waiting on a logo. So since I'm kind of at a standstill because I can't really, like, post anything without the logo.
24
00:02:20.000 --> 00:02:23.000
Who's doing your logo?
25
00:02:23.000 --> 00:02:35.000
My buddy is doing it, and I'm a little. I'm thinking about having my sister do it. Okay.
26
00:02:35.000 --> 00:02:39.000
If I could give you a rule of thumb to work with.
27
00:02:39.000 --> 00:02:40.000
Absolutely.
28
00:02:40.000 --> 00:02:42.000
Try and stick to two colors.
29
00:02:42.000 --> 00:02:45.000
Yeah. I was gonna go black and white. Perfect.
30
00:02:45.000 --> 00:02:53.000
Because if I was gonna say one, because it's literally the cheapest route as far as printing goes when you take that next step.
31
00:02:53.000 --> 00:03:07.000
Yes. And I did look into that, and what Chachi BT actually said was, for the scale I'm doing, it would actually be best to just get the. Those sheets of labels.
32
00:03:07.000 --> 00:03:08.000
Yeah.
33
00:03:07.000 --> 00:03:40.000
And just print them at home. I was going to see about, like, a label maker or, like, printing in bulk at Staples or something, but it said actually, for the route you're going, you. You should just get these sheets. I completely forgot those even existed, but, yeah, so that's the route I'M going to go. Unfortunately, it's like I don't want to give out samples without the logo. Yeah, could. So, yeah, if I just have the QR code for the landing page, that's all I need to give out samples.
34
00:03:40.000 --> 00:04:05.000
If you're giving out samples to people that you know, you know, like other guys that you know that have beards, like your brother in law, you don't necessarily need the logo because you're there and they're in the understanding also that like, hey, I. You're getting this as a feedback. When you want the product, I'll give you the product. Same, same stuff in the middle, but the packaging is different.
35
00:04:05.000 --> 00:04:17.000
Yeah, they don't, they don't need the landing page either because they'll, they'll know where to get it. But I want to start giving out samples like to anyone I see at Target with a mustache, you know, so.
36
00:04:17.000 --> 00:04:21.000
Hey, are you doing or, I'm sorry, I meant mustache. I always say beard for some reason.
37
00:04:21.000 --> 00:04:23.000
Hey, you're all good. I know what you mean.
38
00:04:23.000 --> 00:04:26.000
Are you doing glass or, or metal?
39
00:04:26.000 --> 00:04:28.000
Metal.
40
00:04:28.000 --> 00:04:31.000
Why not? What, may I ask? Why not glass? Is it more expensive?
41
00:04:31.000 --> 00:04:42.000
I never considered it. I just didn't even. I, I'm thinking now because I've never seen mustache wax in a glass.
42
00:04:42.000 --> 00:04:44.000
I know, right?
43
00:04:44.000 --> 00:04:52.000
So I'm wondering, is that a huge oversight or is there a reason that you don't want it exposed to light?
44
00:04:52.000 --> 00:05:05.000
I think it's oversight and this is why. Exposed to light. How often is your current oil exposed to light? And I'm talking about sun.
45
00:05:05.000 --> 00:05:06.000
Open it.
46
00:05:05.000 --> 00:05:12.000
Yeah, and I'm talking sunlight, like the light that's really gonna damage it. It's not gonna get damaged by your little leds in the house.
47
00:05:12.000 --> 00:05:13.000
Right.
48
00:05:12.000 --> 00:05:50.000
You know what I mean? So like, when is it ever really sitting in the sun? Except for maybe it's a, in travel, you know, But I don't know, man. I, I, when I see things in glass especially that are homemade or all natural or they come from a farm, I think. Right. The on, like I, it just, it gives me something inside. It's not, it's not like a, like a something I'm like, oh, right, the on. But like something inside is like, just tells me like that's, that's the, that's the creme de la creme right there. I need it, I need to get that one.
49
00:05:50.000 --> 00:05:56.000
Yeah, and it's heavier too. Yeah. You know, just makes it feel more expensive.
50
00:05:56.000 --> 00:06:03.000
I mean, about like the oils I buy called colognes, they come in all glass.
51
00:06:03.000 --> 00:06:16.000
Yeah, that's for sure. Yeah. So that would, that would kind of put me on a. That would definitely make the packaging stand out. Now what do you think about like a tinted like amber colored glass?
52
00:06:16.000 --> 00:06:21.000
I'm. I think that's even better. So the only issue is if there
53
00:06:21.000 --> 00:06:32.000
is a problem with light exposure, that will take care of it because you put beer in like the brown bottles to, to stop the oxidization. What were you gonna say?
54
00:06:32.000 --> 00:07:12.000
I just think a paper like rectangle logo is like. I almost think a clear logo would be better. Like a clear plot. Like, not. And hear me out, the plastic one that like you put. It's not plastic, but it's clear. And if you want to put a white background, you still can. But like whatever is outside of your print area is still clear. So it kind of gives it like that, that like this is my logo size, this is how it looks, and then no matter where it falls on the sticker, the rest of the sticker is clear. You know what I mean? Yeah, but I think you need a laser jet with that.
55
00:07:12.000 --> 00:07:26.000
Yeah. What about not even labels? What would it take to get it like printed directly onto the glass? That would probably be too much right now.
56
00:07:26.000 --> 00:07:58.000
It would be too much. And that is a, that is a good step. But how many to that? How many times? And you know what, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna retract what I said because there are three or four different companies I buy for that are like straight from the farm kind of companies. And all their, their glass jars have like those sticker labels on them. And I just, it just makes me feel like I'm getting a, a more direct to the source product.
57
00:07:58.000 --> 00:07:59.000
Yeah.
58
00:07:58.000 --> 00:08:19.000
You know what I mean? I don't, I don't. And when they do print on it, I'm like, oh, these people are like really actually big time. But they're playing like they're straight from the farm, you know what I mean? But they're, they're big time, you know, so. Yeah, I think, I think that actually works. The homelier you can make it, the better. Dude.
59
00:08:19.000 --> 00:08:20.000
Dude.
60
00:08:19.000 --> 00:08:27.000
What now? What about ball jars? Like a little, like the little fucking mugs, Dude, I'm just.
61
00:08:27.000 --> 00:08:28.000
That's too much.
62
00:08:27.000 --> 00:08:29.000
I'm just saying. You probably right, but.
63
00:08:29.000 --> 00:08:33.000
Well, actually, I don't know. Do they have like 1 ounce ball jars?
64
00:08:33.000 --> 00:08:50.000
That's what I'm saying. Like if you could find something like that where it looks cool sitting on your, your cabinet, your countertop, you know, I mean, like when I get When I get mouthwash, I have a, like an old gin bottle that I pour my mouthwash into. That's what sits on my countertop.
65
00:08:50.000 --> 00:08:58.000
Just to make your bathroom counter look nicer. Yeah, I like that. You thought I was gonna make fun of you just now, didn't you?
66
00:08:58.000 --> 00:09:06.000
No, it. Dude. Okay. Because when you walk in, I thought you were like chuckling like you would.
67
00:09:06.000 --> 00:09:08.000
Well, a little bit, but I still like it.
68
00:09:08.000 --> 00:09:39.000
Yeah, because you think about it, dude, I. I saw it at someone's house. I walked in, I was like that. Like the bottle just made me think like, I don't know. I like history. So when I see something that's like pro, like where you're just like, damn, that's. That's cool. Like he found a use for an old ass bottle that he cleaned up and like, you know, or maybe it's a brand new bottle that just kind of looks. They. They made it to look old. It looks cool. Yeah.
69
00:09:39.000 --> 00:09:40.000
Yeah.
70
00:09:39.000 --> 00:09:40.000
So I stole that.
71
00:09:40.000 --> 00:09:48.000
Yeah, I like that a lot. That's a really good idea. So, gonna have to. I like this into why I don't see that.
72
00:09:48.000 --> 00:10:25.000
I like displaying products. I like displaying products, but out of ease. I like getting up in the morning and I have a coffee maker in my bathroom. I start the coffee, I jump in the shower. By time I get out, it's done. It's also cool enough to where I could kind of down it in the next 20 minutes because I got to go. And if it looks nice, I like, I like having it out and, and accessible. But if it doesn't look nice, like it's a plastic tube, it's got to go into like, you know, a storage somewhere where it's out of the way.
73
00:10:25.000 --> 00:10:37.000
Yeah. I used to have a little like one cup coffee maker. Do you remember when I built that little table that I used as a headboard?
74
00:10:37.000 --> 00:10:38.000
Yeah.
75
00:10:38.000 --> 00:11:03.000
And I like kept my books on it and stuff. I had it there next to the light and it had a timer on it so that it would just start making a cup at six when I wanted to get up. And then all I had to do was just sit up in bed, grab the cup, have a sip, and I'm up. You know, like even just the heat of coffee in my mouth, like wakes me up.
76
00:11:03.000 --> 00:11:04.000
Yeah.
77
00:11:04.000 --> 00:11:09.000
More than, you know, anything else. So that was really. I wonder why I stopped doing.
78
00:11:09.000 --> 00:11:21.000
Kind of want to test that.
79
00:11:21.000 --> 00:11:34.000
Anyways. That's a really good idea you have with the glass jars, I think. And those are, I mean, glass jars are so cheap. Like a little One jar. I bet. I bet it's not that much more.
80
00:11:34.000 --> 00:12:15.000
Dude, you go to Family Tree, I almost guarantee you. You know how everybody's making those little, like, Stanley Cups now, like, their shot glasses? I guarantee you they make something at, like, Dollar Tree. Dollar Tree usually offers, like, the cool, but, like, miniaturized, you know? I mean, like, you're not gonna get the full ball jar there. You gotta go to Walmart or Target for that thing. But you'll get, like, the. The cup version of. You know what I mean? Like, so, yeah, I would check out Dollar Tree and some of those, like, cheaper places first and. Yes. And see if they. And then. And then go to the Walmart next and see if, like, what's the smallest?
81
00:12:15.000 --> 00:12:16.000
Cool.
82
00:12:16.000 --> 00:12:24.000
Cool. Because they'll sell jar glasses, like, 24 to a set, you know, I mean, for like. For like 10 bucks. And you're like, fuck, yeah.
83
00:12:24.000 --> 00:12:40.000
And here's. Here's where the win is. My profit margin, she's like, the wind is so insane that I could afford to shell out for way nicer packaging.
84
00:12:40.000 --> 00:12:41.000
Yeah.
85
00:12:40.000 --> 00:13:23.000
Because what we're looking at, I mean, I'd have to do the math really quick, but I got all the supplies I needed for 30, 25, 30 bucks. And that's gonna yield me probably 25, 30 cans. And each of those goes for, you know, 12 to 15 bucks on Amazon. I can sell mine. I can sell mine for 10 and be, like, way cheaper than everyone else. Still making, you know, probably more than $9 profit per can. So, like,
86
00:13:23.000 --> 00:13:28.000
that. Check this out. We're not gonna say can no more. We're gonna say jar.
87
00:13:28.000 --> 00:13:30.000
Yes.
88
00:13:30.000 --> 00:13:31.000
So.
89
00:13:31.000 --> 00:13:36.000
Well, I can't commit to that yet because there might be a good reason that they don't sell those in glass.
90
00:13:36.000 --> 00:13:48.000
There's not. You're gonna clot it or chat GPT tonight, and they're gonna be like, well, no, not really, except for maybe exposure to light, but how many people have it in the sun? They're gonna say some cool shit like that.
91
00:13:48.000 --> 00:14:00.000
I will say, I carry mine with me in my little fag bag, and there could be a risk of breaking, but I haven't had that issue.
92
00:14:00.000 --> 00:14:01.000
Okay.
93
00:14:01.000 --> 00:14:05.000
So my bag never gets thrown around or anything. So.
94
00:14:05.000 --> 00:14:47.000
So the next thing you want to look for is 1oz thermos jars. And then. Yeah. And then for, like, 25 bucks, they could buy the thermos jar. You don't have to sell it. You just have to have access to it. That's all you need. You don't need to go buy those yet when an order comes in for one, you then turn around, go to your source and say, okay, now I need one, and ship it to them. And that's the travel jar. Well, that's not that easy because I'm thinking it's like an oil. You could just pour from one to the next. It's not.
95
00:14:47.000 --> 00:14:50.000
No, you gotta scrape it out with your fingernail.
96
00:14:50.000 --> 00:14:59.000
It stiffens. So. Well, you can also include instructions on how to heat it up properly and pour it in there.
97
00:14:59.000 --> 00:15:00.000
Maybe.
98
00:15:00.000 --> 00:15:13.000
I mean, you can offer a lot. All I'm saying, even if you put it in some type of pouch, you know, like a travel pouch, you know what I mean? And you just fucking send a bag with it.
99
00:15:13.000 --> 00:15:29.000
Yeah. So while I'm kind of in a waiting stage on the logo. Wait, wait. When you said rule of thumb, what were you. Was that about the packaging or did we get distracted?
100
00:15:29.000 --> 00:15:36.000
No, rule of thumb was maybe we got distracted. I thought it was the print part of it. Like keep.
101
00:15:36.000 --> 00:15:37.000
Yes, keep.
102
00:15:37.000 --> 00:16:02.000
Keep it to a minimal color. That way, you know that Starbucks saved billions by changing their logo to only be green. So they used to be other colors. They had like two other colors and they swapped them out to just go. I think green only. I think it was like they had black and red in there as well. They say billions in printing alone.
103
00:16:02.000 --> 00:16:05.000
Yeah, I imagine so.
104
00:16:05.000 --> 00:16:13.000
I know you're not Starbucks yet or Dietrich Coffee, but I'm kind of up there. I think.
105
00:16:13.000 --> 00:16:20.000
No, no, I mean, I mean, like, implement the things they learned early on so you don't have to go cut a billion dollars out of the budget. Right?
106
00:16:20.000 --> 00:17:06.000
Yeah. Also, like, when I think of mustache oil, when I think of mustache, look at the COVID of a book called Trim. I think you got a copy of it. Leather and Wood in your advertisements would sell. Like, I think of, like, it's sitting outside on some. Some hardscape with a leather journal next to it and, you know, maybe a cup of coffee or. Or something, but something else that says, like. Hey, like, you're not even saying it. You're just kind of insane. You're painting the picture, giving the warms, you know? I think that would work.
107
00:17:06.000 --> 00:17:10.000
Yeah, I think that's good.
108
00:17:10.000 --> 00:17:29.000
Oh, hold on, hold on. I got one. It's sitting on a nice countertop. You can tell it's in the bathroom, but it's so close up shot that you like, you know, it's the focus and it could be somewhere else anyhow with a opened barber's blade next to it.
109
00:17:29.000 --> 00:17:33.000
What about a comb and scissors?
110
00:17:33.000 --> 00:17:36.000
Your Mom, Your mom's cutting your hair today.
111
00:17:36.000 --> 00:17:38.000
Hey, you trim your mustache.
112
00:17:38.000 --> 00:17:57.000
Oh, I know you do. Oh, yeah. You know what? That's. See, I'm not a mustache guy. Like, I just grab out the covers. Yes, that. But different ads. One has the comb and the scissors. One has the blade. One has, you know, like something else that's like, I don't know anything, but. But it's limitless, you know? Yeah.
113
00:17:57.000 --> 00:18:02.000
I wish there was a better way to do like a B testing on Instagram.
114
00:18:02.000 --> 00:18:22.000
You can. Dude, Chat GPT is great at. You give it the picture of your can by itself and say, change the background of the can to be like a close up on a countertop with scissors and a comb. And this is what I'm trying to. Like, this is. And explain what you're trying to give off by it. Chachi BT is the best with images.
115
00:18:22.000 --> 00:18:30.000
Yeah. No, what I mean is, like, I want to give one ad to like half my followers.
116
00:18:30.000 --> 00:18:33.000
That's what I'm saying. And then create the other one and do that.
117
00:18:33.000 --> 00:18:35.000
Hide the other one from them.
118
00:18:35.000 --> 00:18:38.000
You can by making groups.
119
00:18:38.000 --> 00:18:39.000
That's true.
120
00:18:39.000 --> 00:18:41.000
You can make two groups. There you go.
121
00:18:41.000 --> 00:18:42.000
See?
122
00:18:41.000 --> 00:18:42.000
Submit to one.
123
00:18:42.000 --> 00:18:44.000
Better than Chat GPT.
124
00:18:44.000 --> 00:18:57.000
I, you know, I, I swear, sometimes Chat GPT is like downloading me. You know what I'm saying? Like, I'm just talking and it's like, oh, he's right. And then it just kind of like
125
00:18:57.000 --> 00:18:58.000
just a vessel just.
126
00:18:58.000 --> 00:19:06.000
Just stores it away. You know what I mean? It's always with me. It hears everything I say. You know what I mean? Yeah.
127
00:19:06.000 --> 00:19:46.000
It's got to be getting it from somewhere. So since I'm kind of with the logo, I. I'm waiting on this guy, but I had him design a sticker for me and he gave me a really good price on the design, but I haven't been able to pay him. So I am hesitant to push him right now to like, finish the logo because I still owe him.
128
00:19:46.000 --> 00:19:47.000
How much do you owe him?
129
00:19:47.000 --> 00:19:53.000
I don't. Well, it's only 100 bucks, but,
130
00:19:53.000 --> 00:19:54.000
you
131
00:19:54.000 --> 00:19:58.000
know, I just have a. Yeah.
132
00:19:58.000 --> 00:20:20.000
I mean, if you learned anything from Hyundai reputation that proceeds. Make sure you're right with all your accounts and go forward. Yeah, you can't. You can't. You can't do business like that. Like, it just. And I'm not saying, like, it's going to bite you in the ass and people are going to know. No, you as a person can't let.
133
00:20:20.000 --> 00:20:21.000
It's not like that at all.
134
00:20:20.000 --> 00:20:21.000
He.
135
00:20:21.000 --> 00:20:23.000
He's totally Just like, oh, dude, pay me when you can.
136
00:20:23.000 --> 00:20:25.000
No, I know, but I'm saying, you.
137
00:20:25.000 --> 00:20:29.000
I don't want to have an outstanding thing with him. Yeah, I'm pushing.
138
00:20:29.000 --> 00:21:03.000
It's gonna weigh on you, not them. It's not the people. It's. It's gonna weigh on you where you're like, fuck, yeah. I know I'm limited in certain moves when I owe somebody. Like, I just am. And it's not that, like. And maybe I'm paying more attention to it than they are, which is probably the case most of the time. But I'm so, like, touchy around. Like, I wouldn't talk product with them, you know? Oh, yeah. I'm thinking about going glass. You know what I mean? Like, I. I know I owe you, but, you know, I'm gonna switch up from metal to glass. Yeah. Yeah. So.
139
00:21:03.000 --> 00:21:08.000
But my. In the meantime, my. My sister had an idea for the logo.
140
00:21:08.000 --> 00:21:11.000
And what is it? I'm curious.
141
00:21:11.000 --> 00:21:15.000
It's a candle burning at both ends.
142
00:21:15.000 --> 00:21:18.000
Oh, sideways. Like a mustache.
143
00:21:18.000 --> 00:21:22.000
Yeah. And obviously, there's the wax imagery.
144
00:21:22.000 --> 00:21:25.000
There's, like, the mustache imagery.
145
00:21:25.000 --> 00:21:31.000
I'm, like, a busy person. You know, I'm important kind of imagery. So, like, all of that.
146
00:21:31.000 --> 00:21:34.000
You need to go kiss her.
147
00:21:34.000 --> 00:21:35.000
What?
148
00:21:34.000 --> 00:21:36.000
You need to go kiss her.
149
00:21:36.000 --> 00:21:37.000
I know, right?
150
00:21:37.000 --> 00:21:52.000
Because I was thinking. I'm like, how, like, as we're talking, I'm like, dude, what would I do with that? Well, and then if it's shaped like a mustache, then at the ends where it curls up, it's the fire, and you got the dripping. Oh, dude, that is great. That is fucking.
151
00:21:52.000 --> 00:22:07.000
But you don't want it to be obviously a mustache. You want it to kind of echo in your mind. Like, your subconscious is registering that it's a mustache, but you don't want to look at. Be like, oh, it's an optical illusion.
152
00:22:07.000 --> 00:22:12.000
If it's too straight as well, it's going to look like bullhorns.
153
00:22:12.000 --> 00:22:14.000
Yes.
154
00:22:14.000 --> 00:22:27.000
So there is a fine line. I wouldn't necessarily make it all fat and plump like a mustache, maybe, but, you know, because then you're like, what the. Is. Is that. Is that supposed to be a candle?
155
00:22:27.000 --> 00:22:28.000
It's.
156
00:22:28.000 --> 00:22:29.000
Yeah. Anyhow.
157
00:22:29.000 --> 00:22:30.000
Yeah.
158
00:22:30.000 --> 00:22:31.000
Well, good for her.
159
00:22:31.000 --> 00:23:12.000
I. I've mocked up a few, like, concept logos that I. That I sent to the first guy. I can send you those as well, if you want to see them, But. So I'm kind of at this point. Another thing that bothered me was, like, the guy was kind of hesitant about doing it. He was like, I've Done logo work before and I didn't really love how it turned out. So, you know, I'll, I'll, I'll do it for you. But like, I, you know, I don't want you to be like, afraid to tell me you don't like it or whatever. So like, I just got the vibe that he wasn't as into this idea as the other design that he did for me.
160
00:23:12.000 --> 00:23:33.000
But yeah, dude, like, pay him and just let him know, like, hey, I appreciate you considering doing my logo, but you really don't have to like put any time into it. My sister actually like really wants to be a part of this and has a great idea and I'm gonna let her run with it. He'll totally understand.
161
00:23:33.000 --> 00:23:52.000
That's kind of what I'm thinking. Yeah, I figured, I figured that was probably the right way to go about it. So, yeah, I'll, I'll pay this guy off. Actually, I think as of today we've, we've got the funds for me to just Venmo him and get it over with. So I should just do that.
162
00:23:52.000 --> 00:23:57.000
Hey, how, how's your relationship going with old Jimmy?
163
00:23:57.000 --> 00:24:18.000
Oh, dude, I've. I've actually thankfully been getting to bed pretty early, so I haven't had a late night where I thought like, ah, this would be a good night. Honestly, the best night would have been when I was at the ER with my daughter. Because at like 3:30 that would have been like the perfect time to do it.
164
00:24:18.000 --> 00:24:20.000
But like, where's your mind at?
165
00:24:20.000 --> 00:24:21.000
What?
166
00:24:21.000 --> 00:24:27.000
Where. Where's your mind at? You're at the er. What? Why wouldn't you. You know what I'm saying?
167
00:24:27.000 --> 00:24:36.000
Because I was with my daughter at the ER and I wasn't thinking about Jimmy. I'm sorry. I know that was wrong.
168
00:24:36.000 --> 00:24:40.000
What time are you getting up? You say
169
00:24:40.000 --> 00:24:46.000
5:30 to 6:30. Somewhere between there on one of your
170
00:24:46.000 --> 00:24:50.000
5:30 days, that's when you should heart his next one.
171
00:24:50.000 --> 00:24:55.000
Yeah, because that's also interesting. First right in the morning is. Yeah, you're like, very interesting.
172
00:24:55.000 --> 00:25:01.000
He woke up. He's either up really late or he just woke up and he's starting his day with.
173
00:25:01.000 --> 00:25:11.000
Looking through my profile, this is either he's up all night doing crank or he's up in the morning having a crank.
174
00:25:11.000 --> 00:25:21.000
You know what I'm saying? He's gotta crank one out before. Yeah, that's fucking crazy. Yeah, you should do that. He was with number one.
175
00:25:21.000 --> 00:25:29.000
So I've been, I've been watching tons of videos about notebook binding while I'M kind of waiting for.
176
00:25:29.000 --> 00:25:49.000
So let me. Let me ask you something. I didn't want to. I didn't want to spoil it because I wasn't sure how you were going to approach it, but are you looking at how to actually stack the paper and stitch it all together and glue it all together, or are you going to take inserts from other journals. Already done. And just. You're. You're. You're kind of coding them.
177
00:25:49.000 --> 00:26:05.000
All of it. I've. I've been watching videos on all sorts of different things. I do have my idea for the test run. I use these little, you know, the field notes. Notebooks.
178
00:26:05.000 --> 00:26:06.000
Yeah.
179
00:26:06.000 --> 00:27:29.000
I use those for, like, my daily to do list and, like, taking notes on stuff as opposed to, like, cluttering up my. My main journal with all that. So I'm gonna take a three pack of these and take the staples out, rip the covers off, and I'm gonna thread them together. These are held together by staples. I'm gonna take the holes and thread them with an actual thread and put three of them together and then bind them with a leather cover. That's gonna be my test. And then I'm gonna have, like, the, the dimensions of the small little notebook, but it's gonna be the thickness of three of them. So I can use it for about three months instead of one. And then depending on that, how that goes, that'll tell me if I'm, like, in over my head on the method or if I, you know, can. I've been watching videos and I, I know I can do what I'm seeing in those videos if I have the right tools. So, yeah, I've just been kind of filling my head with all these different. Dude. Every time I think I got it figured out, some Asian on Instagram comes along and just like, well, have you ever threaded it this way? And I'm like, holy, that looks even stronger. Like, let's do this.
180
00:27:29.000 --> 00:27:46.000
So, yeah, there's do you. There's do. When you. Do you find yourself ever in, like, a work zone where you're like, oh, yeah. And then like, your. Your daughter comes up or your daughter needs you and you're kind of, like, irritated at all with it? I'm just kind of curious. Yes.
181
00:27:46.000 --> 00:27:47.000
100.
182
00:27:47.000 --> 00:27:48.000
Yeah.
183
00:27:48.000 --> 00:28:25.000
Yeah, I. I will be. You know how, like, reels are a lot more. It's like if you hit the wrong thing on Instagram and the page accidentally refreshes, you've lost that reel. You're not getting that back. It's like, I've had that Happen because she runs up and she wants something or I gotta, you know, I gotta get her a snack or I gotta do something and I've had to catch myself a bit like she has no idea what just happened. So like, don't get mad at her or get passive aggressive with her or anything because you fucked up.
184
00:28:25.000 --> 00:28:31.000
Good. Good, good, good. Yeah, that's what I was wondering.
185
00:28:31.000 --> 00:28:46.000
I get a little testy if I'm like really into a video and. And she it up somehow. Or rather I fuck it up because of her would probably be a more accurate way to say it. But I've also been saving them off so I. I can.
186
00:28:46.000 --> 00:28:47.000
Yeah.
187
00:28:46.000 --> 00:28:47.000
To them if I need to.
188
00:28:47.000 --> 00:28:54.000
I hit that flag right away if it's interesting. I'm like, oh, okay. Flag this and get back to it when you're on the.
189
00:28:54.000 --> 00:29:57.000
Yeah. Yeah. There's no shortage, dude. There's just days and days of Instagram reels, of people building entire notebooks from scratch. I can watch the whole process in a couple of minutes and that's cool. Yeah, it's so. Yeah. And I think based on what I'm seeing in these videos, I can get by with a lot less than what ChatGPT was telling me to buy. So I think I should be able to get that started a little earlier than I originally said. So I'm gonna probably start collecting a few things. Mostly the press. I need the press. And then I need like a good. The right size of awl and some thread and stuff. And I think I can get most of that at Hobby Lobby. So it's. It's gonna be relatively cheap, but you know, it's an experiment, so.
190
00:29:57.000 --> 00:30:02.000
Going for it. Right on, man. I'm happy for you. I'm proud of you.
191
00:30:02.000 --> 00:30:05.000
Thanks, man.
192
00:30:05.000 --> 00:30:17.000
Okay, so welcome guys, to Pseudonyms. I'm Scott Peterson with my pal Michael Peterson, and we are lady lovers,
193
00:30:17.000 --> 00:30:25.000
by the way. Scott Peterson, maybe the most railroaded man in history.
194
00:30:25.000 --> 00:30:27.000
The what? Railroaded?
195
00:30:27.000 --> 00:30:35.000
Yeah, like there is like no evidence that he did anything to his wife.
196
00:30:35.000 --> 00:30:37.000
I'm pretty sure there is.
197
00:30:37.000 --> 00:30:40.000
Like what?
198
00:30:40.000 --> 00:30:43.000
Really? I don't.
199
00:30:43.000 --> 00:30:46.000
Yes, start Google it.
200
00:30:46.000 --> 00:31:01.000
Yeah. Cuz I watched this one it when it was when Nancy Grace was covering it. Yeah. And I remember thinking, and I think I've seen a documentary and listened to like, I don't know, I think Garage. True crime garage. Hold on.
201
00:31:01.000 --> 00:31:18.000
Yeah, I remember I was like 10 when that happened and I remember watching that on the news every single day. I remember when they found the bodies. I remember when they arrested him. I remember the sentencing like, now, hold on. Watch that.
202
00:31:18.000 --> 00:31:22.000
For years. Is he the one who put the kids inside the.
203
00:31:22.000 --> 00:31:24.000
No, that's Chris Jackson.
204
00:31:24.000 --> 00:31:26.000
Oh.
205
00:31:26.000 --> 00:32:55.000
I was like, people compare the situation to hit to that a lot because he was also cheating on his wife. And. And, you know, she was pregnant. And so when they disappeared, it was like, well, clearly, you know, this happened because he was cheating on her and he wanted to kill her and get her out of the way. And it's like, I don't know, man. Like, I think people are a lot more flippant about divorce than that, you know? Like, I don't think people are really willing to go kill their spouse just to get with a girlfriend, you know, if that was even, like, his plan. But, yeah, I always remembered my mom saying things about it. Like, okay, well, like, they found some of her DNA in the car. It's her car. Like, what are you talking. Of course. Yeah. And like, okay, she didn't know he had a boat. Okay, he's a liar. Like. Like, I don't know. Like, none of this. It's all circumstantial, you know? And then as an adult, I listened to a podcast that covered it very much from the perspective of. Of his innocence and how all of the. The evidence was circumstantial. And I was like. I was blown away by how much, like, how little they had on him in reality. You know, it was. It was like. I. I remembered. You remember, right?
206
00:32:55.000 --> 00:32:56.000
Yep.
207
00:32:56.000 --> 00:34:07.000
Yeah. Her dad was a cop. So she tells me one day. Yeah. Like, I kind of always thought he was innocent. And then my dad told me that, like, he heard through the grapevine that when they were searching the water for the bodies, he rented a car, drove down, watched them looking for the bodies, and then left. Rented another car, came back down in another car, watched them left, and did that, like, two more times. And I was like, okay, that's. That's it. You're gonna give this guy the chair. Because he did something weird when the entire world was watching him. Like, yeah, I get it, dude. Like, the paparazzi was following him. Like, I understand being incognito, but, like, still wanting to be around to see what happens, you know? Like, I don't know. It's just nothing that's ever been presented to me was, like, that crazy. But anyways, this isn't a true crime podcast. This is pseudonyms. Damn it.
208
00:34:07.000 --> 00:34:49.000
All right, so tell me about. Because I was sitting there with Miami tonight, and I'm. She's like, what's the topic? And I'm like, well, we wanted to talk about that lady who, like, I don't know, like, killed her kids and she's like, oh, and then like, jumped out the window or something. I'm like, yeah, yeah. Didn't you watch a podcast on this? She's like, no, babe, there's no podcast on it because it's happening, like right now. And I was like, oh. So then I was thinking, I know nothing about this, but she knew stuff about it. I was just kind of like, whatever. So for those of our listeners and myself who don't know, tell me, tell me where we're at with this story and what it is.
209
00:34:49.000 --> 00:36:11.000
Okay, so basically, Lindsay Clancy, I believe in 20, 22, 2 or 3, sent her husband out of the house and while he was gone, killed all three of their kids and then supposedly tried to kill herself. She, I guess she tried to hang herself, she cut her wrists and she jumped out the second story window, which none of which killed her. She's like paralyzed from the waist down now from the fall. But she was like, heavily medicated with some mental illnesses, postpartum depression. She was hearing voices. She claims that the voices were telling her to kill the kids so that they could go to heaven. And, you know, she was supposedly very overwhelmed with the three kids and behavioral issues and, and stuff like that. So while there, there is a, you know, a movement nationwide of disgusting women who want to excuse her of this crime because of her mental illness,
210
00:36:11.000 --> 00:36:12.000
I
211
00:36:11.000 --> 00:37:34.000
don't think that's much of a. Of an issue when it comes to this. It's more about whether or not she killed her children. For the record, she and her lawyers are not claiming that she didn't kill the kids. There, there are a lot of people online trying to make a case that she didn't kill the kids, but nobody is claiming that who's actually connected to the case. She confessed to the crime. There's, you know, plenty of evidence that she did it. You know, that's all kind of a side note, but what I wanted to talk about was how not necessarily like, what did this husband do wrong? How could he have prevented this or something, but essentially, what can we learn as leaders of our household that definitely could have nipped something like this in the bud and protected those three kids from a lunatic, because obviously he knew she was medicated to the. To the gills. You know, he knew that she was struggling with the kids behavioral issues. You know, I mean, you have to know the person you're sharing a house with is fucking nuts. You know what I mean? So like, why would you ever leave the kids alone with her? You know, That's. That's kind of accusing.
212
00:37:34.000 --> 00:37:44.000
Yeah, for sure. No, but that. That is true. I mean, like, that's my first question of what kind of punishment did he receive from the court?
213
00:37:44.000 --> 00:37:46.000
Nothing. He's a victim.
214
00:37:46.000 --> 00:38:27.000
Okay, And I get that. I understand that. But for me, it's just that the communication. I know. I have relationships with subcontractors that work underneath my, My, My leadership. And I have engaged with them enough. You know, I talk to them to where I know if they come in not talkative or I know when something's on their mind. You know, like, hey, man, you good? Like, what's going on?
215
00:38:27.000 --> 00:38:29.000
And that's just someone you work with.
216
00:38:29.000 --> 00:39:30.000
Exactly. That's. That's the whole point. Someone you work with. I don't doubt that he didn't know. I'm sure even if they didn't really communicate, she had expressed like this. You know what I mean? Like this, like, they'd be better off, you know, without a mom like me. Whatever the case, but without directly saying it, there. There had to be signs. The shitty part is he's a shitty dude for not doing nothing about it. And. But yeah, like, that is part of, like, there should be some accountability on his half. Hear me out. I give my kid. I let my kids stay the night at a known registered sex offender house. My kid comes back home molested, goes downhill, spent.
217
00:39:30.000 --> 00:39:34.000
One could say, yeah, but I mean,
218
00:39:34.000 --> 00:40:04.000
like, would child protective services step in and say, hey, there was. There was willing, like, willful harm done to the child. They would if you hit your child, let alone kill them. But if you hit them, Child Protective services steps in. The husband had every right or every chance and opportunity. He should face some charges for not protecting his children. Like, that is. That's his. His responsibility. That's his duty.
219
00:40:04.000 --> 00:40:08.000
Yeah. I think a case could be made for child endangerment.
220
00:40:08.000 --> 00:40:11.000
That's what I'm talking about, child endangerment.
221
00:40:11.000 --> 00:40:30.000
I don't know. I'm not sure if there's been anything put forward about, like, there were clear signs she was going to harm them, which is probably where he kind of got off without any problems.
222
00:40:30.000 --> 00:40:38.000
But was there ever mention of her harming him, knowing she could harm herself?
223
00:40:38.000 --> 00:42:26.000
That I don't know. Let me. Let me find out real quick. There were significant warning signs beforehand, including some that Patrick himself knew about. The timeline is important because the evidence also shows why this was an extraordinarily difficult situation to interpret in real time. By fall of 2022, Lindsay was experiencing severe problems. Insomnia, anxiety and panic, depression, intrusive thoughts and deterioration, deteriorating functioning. She had psychiatric and therapeutic treatment beginning in September 2022. She told Patrick and her mother that she was experiencing suicidal thoughts. She also contacted a crisis service. Probably the most important fact for the question you're asking. Lindsay's mother testified in the 2026 trial that in December, this is a month before she kills the kids. Lindsay told both her mother and Patrick that she was having thoughts of harming the children she was admitted to. She admitted herself to McLean Hospital, January 1, 2023. I think this is about three weeks before. And she was discharged on the 5th. Court testimony described her as desperate, struggling to bond with the baby, and experiencing suicidal and homicidal thoughts concerning the children.
224
00:42:26.000 --> 00:42:27.000
Okay.
225
00:42:26.000 --> 00:42:28.000
Done a lot worse than I thought.
226
00:42:28.000 --> 00:42:36.000
Child endangerment 100. Yeah, I could. I could. I could build that case.
227
00:42:36.000 --> 00:42:52.000
Okay. So, yeah, I was. I was trying to make this more like. Like a realistic situation we might find ourselves in. But I do have to ask, like, what are you doing in that situation? Are you. Are you taking the kids away just
228
00:42:52.000 --> 00:42:53.000
like, yeah, we're moving.
229
00:42:53.000 --> 00:42:55.000
Figure your shit out.
230
00:42:55.000 --> 00:43:53.000
We're. Yeah. No, we're moving. Like we're separating. I will support her, but once you talk about harming those in my care, I have to protect them. I don't want you to commit suicide, but I can't always worry that my. You know, I can't go to work. I can't go to the gas station and get gas. Like, we're. I. I'm moving in with my parents, or I'm getting an apartment down the street and, you know, you can come over and visit with the kids if you want, but for the time being, I think you need to. Like. Like, what do you. I don't. I'd ask what she needs from me, but I'd also offer her a free out. You know what I mean? Like, because suicide and all that might stop after she's like, oh, I could just go around town. You know what I mean? Like, not that it will, because I think a lot of that's induced by the medication.
231
00:43:53.000 --> 00:43:56.000
Yes, I think that's. Yeah, that's a huge part of it.
232
00:43:56.000 --> 00:44:14.000
You're. You're fighting that one as well, but. And there's still going to be struggles, so, I don't know, maybe like a group living situation, you know, might be beneficial for the time being. Something where, you know, she's being watched, but not restricted.
233
00:44:14.000 --> 00:44:21.000
Yeah, I get that. You don't want her to commit suicide, but think of the same savings.
234
00:44:21.000 --> 00:44:30.000
I mean, hear me out. I'm going to get a life insurance policy that allows suicide.
235
00:44:30.000 --> 00:44:31.000
Do they have those?
236
00:44:31.000 --> 00:44:35.000
Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. When I was suicidal, I was the only kind of got.
237
00:44:35.000 --> 00:44:38.000
Oh, man, I bet those are expensive.
238
00:44:38.000 --> 00:44:46.000
No, you would think they are. They're not. You just got to wait two years. You just can't do it in the first two years. Oh, boy.
239
00:44:46.000 --> 00:44:49.000
You know, count on this for that.
240
00:44:49.000 --> 00:44:57.000
That's the only difficult part. So you got to find one that maybe is a little pricier but has a less time limit on it, you know, like a less restrictive.
241
00:44:57.000 --> 00:45:04.000
You know, we're 20 minutes late for everything because of her makeup. Let's just say timing's not her strong suit. Okay?
242
00:45:04.000 --> 00:45:07.000
Exactly.
243
00:45:07.000 --> 00:45:37.000
Says here that she repeatedly denied that she intended to hurt herself or the children to medical professionals. So while she's, I guess, telling her mom and her husband about this stuff, she's going into psychiatric facilities and lying about it. So legally, nothing was done because she wasn't telling them. But that doesn't change what you're saying, which is you definitely take the kids away at that point.
244
00:45:37.000 --> 00:45:51.000
And I think altogether he's a shitty husband. How are you not communicating with these doctors? You don't have to necessarily tell me anything, but I think you should at least hear my side.
245
00:45:51.000 --> 00:46:01.000
Well, I don't. I don't know that that couldn't happen. I just don't think it would matter. I think, like, legally, medically, it's only gonna matter what she says.
246
00:46:01.000 --> 00:46:34.000
Exactly. But if I went in and was like, hey, doc, she said she wanted to kill these fucking kids, I bet the doctor would gear his questions to see, like, to draw that out. I know he probably says, do you have intentions of killing someone? Because in therapy, and they say, hey, what you say here is confidential, unless you're gonna harm yourself or cause harm to somebody else. And then you just know, cool, I could talk about everything, but wanted to kill that motherfucker. So you kind of just, you know, you.
247
00:46:34.000 --> 00:46:35.000
You.
248
00:46:35.000 --> 00:47:06.000
You give everything but that. Now somebody comes and says, hey, me and her mom, two separate people have heard this. So please look at it with the view of she could be lying to you. You know, like, when you ask those questions, she could be lying. So maybe focus a little more and try and figure out a way to get into that section. That's. That's just stupid.
249
00:47:06.000 --> 00:47:15.000
Says Patrick testified that Lindsay never told him she wanted to harm the children,
250
00:47:15.000 --> 00:47:17.000
of course, because he's like, that's child endangerment.
251
00:47:17.000 --> 00:47:24.000
Yeah, exactly. So somebody else said that she did or she said she did. Maybe can't remember who.
252
00:47:24.000 --> 00:47:27.000
What you said earlier said her mom said.
253
00:47:27.000 --> 00:47:32.000
Her mom said. Okay, so yeah, he's saying no, so maybe not.
254
00:47:32.000 --> 00:47:40.000
I don't know. No, I call bs. If mom said he knew, he knew.
255
00:47:40.000 --> 00:47:41.000
Yeah.
256
00:47:40.000 --> 00:48:01.000
Was she driving to her mom's by herself or were they probably going over to the family or was her mom driving to her? I don't know exactly. I guarantee you he was more than likely present at the time whether mom drove to them on the weekend or whether they packed up the family and drove to mom's.
257
00:48:01.000 --> 00:48:24.000
Yeah. Another thing that said a lot is that, you know, she was this mother of three and she had no support. Let it be known that this family made 350 grand a year. She had a nanny, a babysitter, and her mom were all around all the time helping her. So.
258
00:48:24.000 --> 00:48:48.000
Oh, hold up, hold up. What her mom is saying is true. The husband knew. If mom was there all the time, the husband knew because mom knows he was in the room, our home, in the kitchen when she just flippantly set it at the table and then called herself a. That is ridiculous. Because at 350 you should have a community. She has all time in the world.
259
00:48:48.000 --> 00:48:54.000
He could have been out at work when the mom was there, but the mom definitely would have told him.
260
00:48:54.000 --> 00:49:15.000
Yeah, but that's not what the mom says. Mom says she told me and him, so I think she said it in front of both of them. Now at 350,000 and with all the luxuries of a nanny and a babysitter and all that shit, there's no reason she shouldn't have had a community of friends. Yeah, like prior.
261
00:49:15.000 --> 00:49:16.000
I don't.
262
00:49:15.000 --> 00:50:34.000
Prior. I'm not talking about like in her state of depression phase. She's going out, making friends. But she should have had friends long before the children came around. Yeah, she, she should have. And if she didn't, what's the situation there? Why didn't she. Was that a, a control thing by the husband? Was that, you know, like just. Was it manipulation? Not so much in a control sense, but in the sense where he just isolated her and I don't know what the situation is, but that's unhealthy to not have a community. Yeah, as a stay home mom, you need outlets. I come home working with adults, have an adult conversation to some dickhead that's only been around 3 year olds all day. And you know what I mean? Like, she wants to start talking because she's like, I don't get this interaction with these little. And I'm sitting there like, whoa, whoa, pump the brakes. I'm mentally drained because I've been doing what you want to do all day long, you know what I mean? Like, I kind of want to dumb it down and go play with the kids, you know? And she's like, what the. I have nobody to talk to with these little kids. Yeah,
263
00:50:34.000 --> 00:50:36.000
building America.
264
00:50:36.000 --> 00:50:55.000
You know what I mean? But that's, that's serious talk, dude. Like, yeah, that's, that's. Maybe he doesn't respond like that, but that doesn't mean that's not her reality. Yeah. You know, that's why I don't understand. Stretch. Mark's girlfriend is a nanny.
265
00:50:55.000 --> 00:50:56.000
Are they back together?
266
00:50:56.000 --> 00:51:44.000
They are. They're back together, but she's a nanny. And he's like, dude, like, I'll come home sometimes and you know, like, she'll want to talk about her day with, about these kids. And I'm like, I, I, like, I don't care, dude. Like, I. I don't really care, you know? And I get it because I'm like, that's how I was in my, my marriage. I was like, I'd come home and she'd be with the kids, and she's like. So I was thinking. And you're just like, whoa, shut the whole. Slow the fuck down. I just walked in the door, you know what I mean? Like, and they're just like, ready to, to just engage, dude. And you're like, you remind me of a three year old. Like, calm. Calm down for a second, dude. Like,
267
00:51:44.000 --> 00:51:46.000
when I walk, just go through the mail.
268
00:51:46.000 --> 00:51:47.000
Yeah, when I walk.
269
00:51:47.000 --> 00:51:49.000
Say what you need to say.
270
00:51:49.000 --> 00:52:00.000
That's how I felt though, dude. I was like, when I walk in, don't fucking talk to me. Don't come up and hug on me. I don't want that. I want to sit on the fucking couch for a minute. Just fucking take off my boots.
271
00:52:00.000 --> 00:52:07.000
My wife was never, when she was staying home with the kid, she was never like that.
272
00:52:07.000 --> 00:52:13.000
You don't look like me. Don't, don't. Don't take it personally.
273
00:52:13.000 --> 00:52:33.000
She would have, like, you know, a clipboard of ideas that she needed to go over with me as soon as I walked in the door. But it was mostly about, like, stuff we needed to buy is usually like, I need, you know, storage boxes, bathroom, and I need this and that and the other.
274
00:52:33.000 --> 00:52:38.000
Yeah, but still, it's. It's a little irrelevant right? When I walk in the fucking door.
275
00:52:38.000 --> 00:52:39.000
Yeah.
276
00:52:39.000 --> 00:52:56.000
You know, I mean, sure. How about you crack me a beer, pour me a glass of wine, we sit on the couch, give it a second. And then once I say, how was your day? Basically what I just said is, it's on. You may talk now. Like just now. Now give me the clipboard.
277
00:52:56.000 --> 00:53:04.000
Most of the time when I walked in from work, dinner was ready on the table and they were like sitting there waiting for me.
278
00:53:04.000 --> 00:53:06.000
So that's a good woman.
279
00:53:06.000 --> 00:53:07.000
I had.
280
00:53:06.000 --> 00:53:07.000
Yeah.
281
00:53:07.000 --> 00:53:12.000
Now pretty quickly to like we're having a meal and talking now.
282
00:53:12.000 --> 00:53:25.000
Yes. And that's. But that's a good transition because meals are usually social events. So you could transition. You're mentally getting ready, like, okay, I'm have, I'm gonna have some good food, we have some conversation.
283
00:53:25.000 --> 00:53:28.000
But it's the three out of five days a week. It was good.
284
00:53:28.000 --> 00:53:59.000
Yeah. Yeah. But it's the like when you walk in and there's not like, hey, I put time and effort into this for you. It's like, hey, check this out. See the X's and O's? X's are, are us. O's are what we need to do just for the bathroom right now, you know, just, just some small. And you're like, really? If it's that small, why can't it wait until after my beer? You know?
285
00:53:59.000 --> 00:54:21.000
Yeah. But now that the roles are reversed and she's coming home, I do occasionally find myself like, oh, I gotta making lasagna. I gotta tell her about the, the funny thing my daughter said at the park and I'll like tell her. And she's kind of like absent. Not really.
286
00:54:21.000 --> 00:54:22.000
Yeah.
287
00:54:22.000 --> 00:54:34.000
And I was like, ah, you know what? I remember when I was on the other side of this. I'm not gonna tell her anything that happened today. She's missing daughter's whole life.
288
00:54:34.000 --> 00:54:41.000
How about you give her a moment to. When she says, how was your day? And if she doesn't her, she don't get it.
289
00:54:41.000 --> 00:54:43.000
She's never asked me that.
290
00:54:43.000 --> 00:54:50.000
She. So when does she start talking to you if you don't talk or has that never happened?
291
00:54:50.000 --> 00:55:01.000
Yeah, she's kind of too distracted with the kid. She'll, she'll text me around noon and just ask how it's going.
292
00:55:01.000 --> 00:55:07.000
Oh, that's what you don't decide to tell her then, like, it's going good. She said this. Hahaha.
293
00:55:07.000 --> 00:55:16.000
I will usually. Yeah, I'll usually either just give her a rundown of what we're doing or if there was a funny thing I'll say that.
294
00:55:16.000 --> 00:55:17.000
Right on.
295
00:55:17.000 --> 00:55:20.000
But, you know, other than that.
296
00:55:20.000 --> 00:55:29.000
So when she texts, like, do you, like, by time you respond, Is she, like, already off lunch on her way home?
297
00:55:29.000 --> 00:55:41.000
Yeah, I'm not, like, on my phone all day, so usually it's like, oh, she texted me two hours ago. Let me get back. Oh, she's on her way home. I'll text her now.
298
00:55:41.000 --> 00:55:46.000
You don't. You don't keep your phone on you?
299
00:55:46.000 --> 00:55:52.000
Not too much. I mean, I might.
300
00:55:52.000 --> 00:55:53.000
If.
301
00:55:52.000 --> 00:56:04.000
If I turn the TV on for her, I might get on my phone for a little bit. But, like, I got. I got stuff to do, so it's on me, but I'm not paying attention to it.
302
00:56:04.000 --> 00:56:33.000
That's crazy. I know, because I text you. I. I text you. I mean, I'm so glad you're not my emergency contact, but I text you, dude, it's like five hours later, you're like, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, this. And I'm like, guy, dude. I'm like, you know, I'm like, I'm the guy. Like, right when you text, I'm like, ding. I'm like, up. I respond. But. But when I notice the person, because
303
00:56:33.000 --> 00:56:36.000
there's times, like, you do it to me because I do it to you.
304
00:56:36.000 --> 00:57:01.000
Yeah, you'll say something. I'm like, oh, it's just. I don't need to text him back right now. You know why? Because there's times I've texted right back, and then, like, you'll text me. I text you. I'm like, he's still holding his phone. And then, like, two hours later, like, there's no way he sat down his phone before that text went to space and back.
305
00:57:01.000 --> 00:57:29.000
Well, I will say a few. A few things. In my defense, I'm very bad at switching between apps. So, like, if I'm watching reels about notebook binding, 12 texts could come in. I'm not switching over to the texting app. I'll get to that when I get to that.
306
00:57:29.000 --> 00:57:35.000
Is that your phone? Was it easier on Android?
307
00:57:35.000 --> 00:57:42.000
It's about the same. I'd say the. The iPhone is a little bit more invasive with text messages and stuff.
308
00:57:42.000 --> 00:57:43.000
So, like, I have.
309
00:57:43.000 --> 00:57:48.000
I was able to turn the banners off on Android. I think on.
310
00:57:48.000 --> 00:58:09.000
On the Samsung Galaxy, there's like, just one button. Like, you tap it twice and it goes to your last app, but keeps the apps open so I wouldn't lose the video or I just hit it once and let's say, like, it's an app. I used five apps ago. Then I just like, quick scroll and tap it, and I go right back to it.
311
00:58:09.000 --> 00:58:19.000
Yeah, no, it's not like a functionality problem. It's like a focus problem. It's like, I'm not. I'm not texting right now. I'm. I'm doing this. Or.
312
00:58:19.000 --> 00:58:20.000
Okay, I do get that.
313
00:58:20.000 --> 00:58:22.000
Because, like, writing in a doc or.
314
00:58:22.000 --> 00:58:57.000
Yeah, I'll be focused on work. Writing an email. Today I was writing a letter. I'm like, okay, I got a little bit of time. My friends get married on Saturday. And I'm like, you know what? I just want to write him a letter letting him know I appreciate him because he's a he. I work with him every day, and he's a solid Christian dude. Always wanted to help out. Like, he called me while we were in Maryland and was like, hey, this big. This big semiconductor facility out here is flying in. It's like.
315
00:58:57.000 --> 00:58:58.000
It's.
316
00:58:57.000 --> 01:01:35.000
It's big dogs from Taiwan. And they're going. I guess they're Christians. So they're attending an event while they're in town at his church. And it's like 400 a ticket. And he. So he calls me and he goes, hey, I talked to Nick. Me. You and Nick on this date are attending a church function at my church because of. And he. He tells me, and I'm like, oh, wow. And he goes, nick, because he owns the company, of course. Me, because him. Because he. He goes to the church and he. And he's working there that day or serving. And he goes, and you. Because he goes, you know, you're just. You. You make everybody feel like they're your best friend. And. And. And he just, like, started going in, and I was like, dude, he's. He's a strong Christian dude. He runs our. Our low voltage department. Real humble dude. Serves the community every weekend. That's how he met his fiance. And now, like, I don't know, man. He's. He's just a really cool. Cool. Like, if I say something, he has such a respect where it's like he never, like, talks back. He will express feelings, but in a respectful way. Or he'll jokingly, like, you know, talk. But then, you know, he's. He. You know, he has his life. He's just a cool, cool cat dude. So I'm trying to write him, and Miami is like, hey, I texted someone. I texted number four. Ask her what kind of donut she likes. She hasn't responded. So I'm like, all right. So I go ask. I come sit down. Say this, Switzerland. And then I'm I'm, like, writing my letter. I'm focused on the penmanship, and it's like, ding, ding, ding. I look and it's like, they don't have that kind. She sends a picture, like, Boston. I'm like, Boston, you know, like, busting something, like, writing. I'm like, hey, yeah, yeah. It. Custard field is the same as Boston, you know, like, sure, sure. Ding, ding. I was like, hey, dude, I just want to, like. I just want to like it. Like, turn off my phone so I could focus on what I want to do right now. You know, what I'm. What I'm into. And that's not necessarily just writing. There's times I'm, like, working on a project, and it's not even her, but just my phone, the constant beeps of my phone, you know? And sometimes, like, one email will hit all three boxes at the same time, you know, and it's like,
317
01:01:35.000 --> 01:01:36.000
I'm like,
318
01:01:36.000 --> 01:01:48.000
who in the needs me? You know what I mean? And it's just like Robin Hood. The app notified me, and they also sent an email with the same message just in case I blocked the app, you know?
319
01:01:48.000 --> 01:03:09.000
Yeah. I mean, over the course of 10 minutes, my phone will probably vibrate five or six times. So it's just like, I. I don't even know what it is half the time because more often than not, it's nonsense. So I don't need to open it right away and see what's going on there. Like, okay, so, Graham, notification, it could be, you know, but the problem is, is that once I ignore a text for five minutes, I've completely forgotten that there's a text message to get to for sure. That's why things go unanswered. But another thing that's working against me is that I get spam texts all day long, talking, nine, ten, a day of people wanting to buy these lots in Florida that my parents own because somehow my phone number got mixed up in all this nonsense. So now people are texting me from real estate companies every single day, wanting to buy these. These lots. And so I'll have 15, 16 text messages unopened on my text app. So if I. If I see 16 and you text me, that's actually important, but it goes to 17. I'm not gonna.
320
01:03:09.000 --> 01:03:10.000
So here's the thing.
321
01:03:10.000 --> 01:03:14.000
17 is important and 16 aren't. You know what I mean?
322
01:03:14.000 --> 01:03:38.000
So here's. Here's the thing. What I did was I've changed the ringtone. Not necessarily for everybody. Like, they don't have. They all don't have their own personal ringtones, but groups have their. Their certain tones. So, like, Miami's is different from my daughters. My daughters all have the same one. So when I hear it, I know.
323
01:03:38.000 --> 01:03:39.000
Child.
324
01:03:39.000 --> 01:03:50.000
That's my child texting. I need to get to it. And then everybody else just phone off silent all day long.
325
01:03:50.000 --> 01:03:53.000
That's diabolical, dude.
326
01:03:53.000 --> 01:03:59.000
Like, I don't get it because, like, Miami has hers on silence. Silent all day long. Yeah.
327
01:03:59.000 --> 01:04:07.000
And I'm like, that shit all day long. You're saying if, If I call you at three in the morning, I'm gonna wake you up with a ringtone?
328
01:04:07.000 --> 01:04:10.000
No. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you wake me up.
329
01:04:10.000 --> 01:04:13.000
That's fucking insane. Why would you do that?
330
01:04:13.000 --> 01:04:17.000
Yeah, but my phone doesn't allow calls during certain hours.
331
01:04:17.000 --> 01:04:20.000
Okay, well, there you go.
332
01:04:20.000 --> 01:04:30.000
So like after. After four, it's only like friends and family that can call me and select few. You're on the list. Of course. That's why you could call me at 9:00.
333
01:04:30.000 --> 01:04:56.000
And I answer, yeah, see, I. I wasn't allowed to have my phone ringing at work. I don't want it. You know, I want it on silent when I'm at church. I. You know, like, there's so many times that I. I can't have it ringing that, like, I just got used to just never having it on like that. So it's. It's always been vibrate for me, so I need it feels.
334
01:04:56.000 --> 01:04:58.000
Yeah. When you tuck it between your cheeks.
335
01:04:58.000 --> 01:05:03.000
Yeah. Yeah, man. It's cool. Don't knock it.
336
01:05:03.000 --> 01:05:24.000
I. I have mine on sound because it's loud at my work. You know, sometimes it's, it's. And sometimes, tell you the truth, I don't feel it half the time when it's on me. Like, I'm moving around so much sometimes that I don't feel it.
337
01:05:24.000 --> 01:05:25.000
Yeah.
338
01:05:24.000 --> 01:06:00.000
And then I don't necessarily want it in my pocket when I'm sitting down. And so I set it on the table, but I don't set it on the table because the table is dirty. So I set it on another mouse pad that I carry with me. So, like, when I set up my laptop, I pull up both to two mouse pads. One for my mouse, one for, like, my phone, because I put my phone face down. I don't have a case on my phone, so I put it face down. So to not put so many scratches on the lenses, the camera lenses. So I put it face down.
339
01:06:00.000 --> 01:06:02.000
Nice.
340
01:06:02.000 --> 01:06:28.000
So I don't hear it or feel it. Most of the time. I Don't feel it. I don't. I hear it. That's why it has sound. But I don't feel it when it's just on vibrate. In fact, when I put it on silent, like vibrate for, for meetings and I forget to take it off, by time I check it, I've missed like two calls, seven texts, and a couple emails. And I'm like,
341
01:06:28.000 --> 01:07:00.000
yeah, my mom has her phone ringing. I mean, all day she's getting, she's getting all the same sales calls and sales texts that I get. She'll be in a full blown, like, conversation with her friend over text message, where it's like every 30 seconds they're sending each other a text and she's just sitting on the couch. Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. Trying to watch baseball. Shut that. Yeah, see, phone up.
342
01:07:00.000 --> 01:07:04.000
That I can't do. I leave. I'll leave it open so that it just goes.
343
01:07:04.000 --> 01:07:05.000
Yeah.
344
01:07:05.000 --> 01:07:24.000
You know, because that bugs the out of me. Even when it's my own, I like, respond. Then I'll turn off my phone and put it down and ding. And I'm like, oh, I'll respond, put. And it does that. I brought the second one. I'm putting that face up with the, the. The chat open.
345
01:07:24.000 --> 01:07:36.000
Yeah. Now. And that's because, despite any joke I may have made in the past, you are not a boomer. Okay, so like, you, I. I'd say Gen X and down.
346
01:07:36.000 --> 01:07:37.000
You thought I was.
347
01:07:37.000 --> 01:08:04.000
No, no, I've said it as a joke, but I know you're not a boomer. But like, Gen X and down. We are. We're getting off the tech. You know what I mean? Like, we're, we're more likely. I'm a millennial. But like, we're all more likely to use a notebook. We're all a lot more likely to, you know, get a. Yeah, that's why, honestly, camera. Just for fun, you know.
348
01:08:04.000 --> 01:08:10.000
But like, that's honestly why I like the Remarkable. I prefer to write it than to fucking sit there and text it on my onenote.
349
01:08:10.000 --> 01:09:41.000
Exactly, exactly. But the boomers have completely succumbed to the smartphone in a way that they thought like Gen Z or Gen Alpha was going to, you know, succumb to it. They are dopamine hit all day fucking long. Give me those text messages. Give me those likes on Facebook. On this AI slop that I reposted on Facebook. Give me the games. Give me Candy Crush. Give me. Oh. All day, all day. My dad spends three hours a day looking at the stock market on his fucking phone. So, like, They're. They're cooked. They love hearing the text message. It's like, ooh, somebody loves me. Somebody cares about me. I think you and everyone under you hears a, you know, incessant ringtones and is annoyed by it, you know, because we're just trying to think about shit. But I think the boomers love it. This. This broke my heart when I read this. On the actual day of the killings, Patrick described Lindsay as having what seemed like one of her best days. She interacted normally with the children, and there were no obvious outward signs that she was about to murder them. And I think I know why, dude, because, like, what a great day. I'm finally gonna take care of this problem. My little babies are going to heaven.
350
01:09:41.000 --> 01:10:26.000
But hear me out. I see so many videos of people, like, in their advertisements for. For, you know, this. But of so many people that are like, this is their last. Like, this was. It shows, like, a video of them, like, being funny and this person just dancing and laughing, and they're like. And then it says that was the night before they committed suicide, or that was the night of their suicide or committed suicide two days later. And you're just like, holy, dude. Like. Like they. It's almost like they want to leave with one last good memory. You know what I mean?
351
01:10:26.000 --> 01:11:08.000
Yeah. Yeah, that's. That's the thing I never understand when someone commits suicide. And people are probably coping when they're like, I don't know if it was really suicide because, like, they were making these plans and they said they were all excited for this thing. And it's like, dude, if I knew I was doing that and I wanted to keep it a secret, I would be laying Easter eggs all the time. I would be talking about the future. I'd be all excited about a thing. I'd like. I would give no one any indication that there was something going on.
352
01:11:08.000 --> 01:11:10.000
I agree.
353
01:11:10.000 --> 01:12:00.000
Yeah. So anyways, that kind of catches us up on, like, what he knew about before all this happened. Now, obviously there's a lot of criticism on him because he was cheating on her. I think it was about a year after the kids died, his mistress or his girlfriend or whatever posted on Instagram that they were celebrating their three year anniversary. But at the same time, I. That doesn't so much paint his guilt as much as paints what a fucking miserable life he was having with Lindsey. So, you know, not great. But I don't think it's, you know, an indication that he actually did something to the kids, which some people allege.
354
01:12:00.000 --> 01:12:16.000
No, but it doesn't add to the depression, the postpartum. Like, you're not, like, you're clearly. You want to know my honest about it? Well, here I'm you, You know, you just know.
355
01:12:16.000 --> 01:12:17.000
Yeah, probably.
356
01:12:17.000 --> 01:13:10.000
It's not. You don't. You might not have evidence, but there's something inside of you that says he doesn't want this anymore or they don't want me anymore. Here, here's the thing. End of the day, he probably was like, I could see the moment where she's like, I really think I. I have so many suicidal thoughts and like, I. I just kind of want to kill the kids, you know, sometimes. And he was probably like, you don't have the balls. He was probably like, you don't have the balls to do that. Like, come on, you're really going to do that? You couldn't do that. He was probably like, this is a twofer, dude. I get to start all over. New wife, new life.
357
01:13:10.000 --> 01:14:09.000
I don't know, man. I mean, like, I've heard people say that about him, but her, sure. Fuck that bitch. You kill yourself, whatever, I'll take the kids. I get that. Start fresh that way. But like, nah, there's no. I mean, unless this guy's fucked up, which, you know, to be married to her, maybe he was kind of fucked up. I think actually maybe there, there, there is a case to be made there that, you know, someone fucked up would end up like with someone like this. But there's gotta be something in you that, that just wouldn't, wouldn't even let yourself go there to be like, ah, well, you know, it's sad about the kids, but like, well, you know, I get off scot free now. Like, I got her out of the way and I don't have to take care of kids. Like, I don't know that maybe, I mean, maybe I just don't want to believe that someone could think that.
358
01:14:09.000 --> 01:14:15.000
Dude. Okay, someone doesn't think that, but someone can think, man, I want to kill these.
359
01:14:15.000 --> 01:14:18.000
Yeah,
360
01:14:18.000 --> 01:14:30.000
how is. How. But you can't. You're like, ah. But I can't put it past him. It's her that I can see wanting to kill these, but not him who's like, bet you don't have the balls.
361
01:14:30.000 --> 01:14:40.000
Yeah. Yeah. And that's the thing. Like, some of those fights get so nasty that like, even if he didn't believe it, he could have said something like that, you know?
362
01:14:40.000 --> 01:14:42.000
Mm.
363
01:14:42.000 --> 01:16:37.000
That's fucking terrible. So one thing that I've heard is that I think it was a year, maybe a Few months before the killings, she posted on Facebook in a parenting group that her son, maybe I think it was the middle son, who's about two, two and a half. I think that she was posting basically for advice because she said something to the extent of like, he fights me on literally every single thing all day long. And I just. I didn't have these problems with my other kids. And I'm just wondering, like, does anyone have any advice for how to deal with this? Because, you know, I've just never dealt with a kid just fighting me on every single little thing, you know, sun up to sundown. And so I. I heard one podcaster who I think you would actually really like. I don't know if you know Stefan Molyneux, but I've been listening to him. Very interesting dude. He's like. He's a philosopher, so he'll talk about, you know, kind of abstract stuff, but he's also been, like, an entrepreneur, so he's, like, got some really cool business insights. He used to be kind of in the political space before he got canceled, but. So he doesn't really talk about that a whole lot. But what he does is he'll take phone calls from people live on the show, and they'll. He'll, like, talk about their childhood and. And struggles that they're having going on. And, like, he has some really amazing insights in. Into people. I feel like I told you about this already. I feel like I'm.
364
01:16:37.000 --> 01:16:39.000
No, no.
365
01:16:39.000 --> 01:18:07.000
Okay. It must. It must have been someone else. But he. He just says, like, things. I just never thought about it that way before. It's, like, very obvious when you put it that way, but I never thought about it. And so, like, this. This one guy who's talking about, like, how he. He and his wife don't have sex anymore, and they're not. You know, they don't talk anymore and all this stuff. And he was like, well, you know, you're. You're lying to her. And he's like, well, I. I don't lie to my wife. And he's like, well, you're not telling her what you need. That's a lie of omission, right? And it's just like, yeah, I guess I never really. I mean, it's very obvious when you point it out, but never really thought about it that way. And then, like, this other guy was talking about how he was abused by his mom, but he was kind of making excuses about it, and he was like, yeah, you know, she would just kind of lose control sometimes, and he's like, she didn't lose control. I bet she controlled it very well when you were out in public, right? And he's like, yeah, yeah, it never really happened outside the house. And he's like, yep. So she had all the control she needed over that. She decided to hit you when you were alone. And he's. He's actually the one that turned me on to peaceful parenting. That was kind of where I learned that concept from. So, yeah, he's very interesting. I think you'd like him a lot.
366
01:18:07.000 --> 01:18:10.000
Yeah. Text me his name. I'd like to check that out. Yeah.
367
01:18:10.000 --> 01:20:04.000
Yeah. Don't care for the atheism stuff. He just had a pretty cringe debate with a Christian about the existence of God, and they both made assholes of each other. But don't care for that side of his philosophy. But he's got some interesting insights. But anyways, he was talking about that Facebook post that she made in the parenting group, and that's kind of what gave me the idea for this topic, because he was like, that is showing you the dereliction of duty of this husband because he has to know that she's having these kind of struggles with the kids. And why in the fuck are you letting that happen? Why, as a man, are you not standing up and disciplining the child and dealing and, like, mediating between the two of them when she clearly is not able to handle it? You know, like, it is your job to step in and handle that, mediate that relationship when they're struggling that badly, you know, and the fact that he wasn't around to do that or didn't care or was in denial about it or something is, you know, just a huge failure as a husband and a father. And. Yeah, so, I mean, I guess. I guess I would transition now that we've kind of talked about what it is and what he knew and what he should have done and what we would have done in his position, you know, how do you see this playing out in more practical ways that would, like, actually affect you and I, since I don't think either of us are with that kind of psychopath that would actually kill your kids? How do you. How do you kind of see your role as the leader of the household playing out in difficult situations?
368
01:20:04.000 --> 01:20:40.000
Doesn't necessarily have to even be that. Like, for instance, my situation, you know, she has her opinion on, you know, well, that's not right. We need, you know, like, you should. You should change that or you should address that, or, you know, like, how do you think that's going to turn out we need. And it's like, well, calm down, you know, like this. I'll. I'll give you opinions for your son because I feel like we are very similar in ways. But I'm not telling you how to discipline him or, yeah, I'm trying to tell you how to connect with him or maybe what he's thinking.
369
01:20:40.000 --> 01:20:43.000
But he's also 20, right?
370
01:20:43.000 --> 01:21:19.000
Yeah, but, you know, she'll have that view sometimes on number four. Like, well, number four can't. We got to do this. You know, we got it. Calm down. Like, you know, like, I don't want number four to also view you as like, oh, this is the. That came in and my dad changed because of this. You know what I mean? So it's like, there's a healthy, healthy balance of that, you know? Like, what was your question? Because I. I trying to relate it to your question. I know what I'm trying to say.
371
01:21:19.000 --> 01:21:32.000
But, yeah, like, what practical situations do you kind of see playing out where you have to be more proactive as the leader of the household?
372
01:21:32.000 --> 01:22:02.000
Well, okay, so that's part of it. Like, you have to make that stance of, like, hey, look, like, I. I definitely hear you, and, you know, I'm gonna. I'm going to address it, but, you know, there's also the opportunity explaining yourself at that point of, like, you know, I need you to understand this. You know, I think it automatically goes back to communication being key in a relationship.
373
01:22:02.000 --> 01:22:03.000
Yeah.
374
01:22:03.000 --> 01:22:14.000
Like, it's just. It just is. But with that, there has to come some. Some sort of caring, and it just doesn't sound like he really cared.
375
01:22:14.000 --> 01:23:05.000
Yeah, well, yeah, I mean, he was clearly, like, mentally checked out because he's got a girlfriend on the side. And, you know, I. I hate to think of the implications that means for the children and how little he cared about them. But, you know, I. I get that. You know, working all the time, you know, in a career that makes you 350 grand a year, and then also balancing a girlfriend on the side. Clearly he was not around much and didn't care to be. And so when he was around and, you know, when he is home, he's dealing with this heavy psychiatric issue and his wife and three misbehaved kids and. And all this stuff. Like, I can imagine him just checking out entirely and just not giving a shit because it's too much, you know.
376
01:23:05.000 --> 01:23:12.000
For sure. Yeah, for sure. I could totally get that. I didn't even make 350,000, and I was kind of like this.
377
01:23:12.000 --> 01:23:25.000
Yeah, well, I mean, I, I bet you were working about as much as he was. You know, you were. You were doing 12 hour days for sure. Yeah.
378
01:23:25.000 --> 01:23:36.000
Yeah. And so, yeah, you do check out. But. Yeah, but not like that at the same time. Exactly at the same time. If she was having a problem with the kids, I made sure that stopped.
379
01:23:36.000 --> 01:23:37.000
Yeah.
380
01:23:37.000 --> 01:23:38.000
Yeah.
381
01:23:38.000 --> 01:23:43.000
Are there any examples of that?
382
01:23:43.000 --> 01:24:24.000
Not really. Just because I think my kids under that. And she was also strict as a parent as well, so it wasn't like, you know, she didn't let the kids get away with either. But if I caught wind of something, yeah, I'd call and be like, hey, you know, like, because usually it's. It's. They try and get away with stuff when dad's not in town. They don't want to try that when dad's in town. They want to do it when dad's out of town. So I gotta phone them, be like, hey, like, do, like, we can talk when we get home. You know, like, you just let me know, how do you want to do this? You know, you could, you could behave yourself or we can, we can have a shitty time when I get home.
383
01:24:24.000 --> 01:24:25.000
Mm.
384
01:24:25.000 --> 01:25:00.000
But yeah, it's kind of, Kind of the gist of it, dude. I mean, there was never. When the kids acting up like that, it's usually because there's a lack of something in the household prior, you know, I mean, like, the kids shouldn't have been at that point to be like, I could just talk to mom like a. And say no to everything. Like, they're young, you get to teach them to say no and stuff. You know what I mean? Like, when they first start saying no, you can either say like, we ain't doing that shit. I'll break this right now.
385
01:25:00.000 --> 01:25:01.000
Yeah.
386
01:25:01.000 --> 01:25:02.000
Or we can be like, do you
387
01:25:02.000 --> 01:25:32.000
think the kids somehow picked up on. Well, I mean, obviously they picked up on it, but like, how do you think it worked that, like, they somehow picked up on how checked out she was from like the postpartum depression and stuff? And like, how do you think that affected, like, how they acted toward their mom? Do you think that could have been like the root of the behavioral issues that like, they didn't feel a certain kind of love or connection?
388
01:25:32.000 --> 01:25:35.000
How old are these kids?
389
01:25:35.000 --> 01:25:41.000
I think the oldest was. I mean, they were all like under five. Let me, let me see.
390
01:25:41.000 --> 01:25:48.000
I was going to say it sounds like maybe they were five, three and one or some.
391
01:25:48.000 --> 01:25:53.000
Find out real quick. Five, three and eight months old.
392
01:25:53.000 --> 01:26:14.000
Okay. I was close. Five, three. Yeah. Okay. So did they Pick up on it? Probably not, but I'm pretty sure they felt the lack of love. And it sounds like the three year old coming fresh out of his terrible twos is, like, just too much for her.
393
01:26:14.000 --> 01:26:15.000
Yeah.
394
01:26:15.000 --> 01:26:18.000
Do we know the gender of these babies?
395
01:26:18.000 --> 01:26:21.000
Yes. The oldest was a girl.
396
01:26:21.000 --> 01:26:23.000
The middle second was a fucking boy.
397
01:26:23.000 --> 01:26:30.000
Yep. And then Callan, I guess, was eight months old. I'm gonna guess that's a boy.
398
01:26:30.000 --> 01:26:34.000
Yeah. The boys what turned her, dude, like.
399
01:26:34.000 --> 01:26:40.000
Oh, my God. Callan initially survived, but died three days later from his injuries.
400
01:26:40.000 --> 01:26:41.000
Holy.
401
01:26:41.000 --> 01:26:48.000
I don't wanna. I don't wanna talk about this case anymore, dude. This is up. Sorry, what were you saying?
402
01:26:48.000 --> 01:26:52.000
How. How, How. How is this just getting big now?
403
01:26:52.000 --> 01:26:57.000
But it happened in 2022 because the trial's happening now.
404
01:26:57.000 --> 01:27:02.000
But was this televised when they caught her? I don't remember hearing about it until
405
01:27:02.000 --> 01:27:18.000
the time I remember ever hearing about it back then. But I'm sure if you were like, in the true crime circles, you probably would. I don't really listen to that stuff anymore. But I'm sure, like, my sister probably was aware of this back when it was happening.
406
01:27:18.000 --> 01:27:20.000
Yeah, that's crazy.
407
01:27:20.000 --> 01:27:29.000
She's also a truther. She doesn't believe that she killed the kids. She thinks the husband did it and drugged her
408
01:27:29.000 --> 01:27:30.000
and.
409
01:27:29.000 --> 01:27:30.000
Yeah.
410
01:27:30.000 --> 01:27:32.000
Oh, that's. That's a theory, huh?
411
01:27:32.000 --> 01:27:38.000
Oh, boy, is it a theory. Yeah. Yeah.
412
01:27:38.000 --> 01:27:39.000
And.
413
01:27:39.000 --> 01:27:53.000
And I will say there are some interesting things to that theory if it's true, but I just. I'm not hearing any of those points being raised by the defense or. Or anything, so I'm. I'm gonna guess it's.
414
01:27:53.000 --> 01:28:02.000
But yeah, I guess I. Yeah, I get that. Yeah.
415
01:28:02.000 --> 01:28:05.000
Sorry. So what were you saying when I interrupted?
416
01:28:05.000 --> 01:28:06.000
I don't know.
417
01:28:06.000 --> 01:28:09.000
I said the. The middle one was the boy.
418
01:28:09.000 --> 01:28:13.000
Yeah, that's because she said the first one didn't respond like this.
419
01:28:13.000 --> 01:28:14.000
Yeah.
420
01:28:13.000 --> 01:28:27.000
But this one. This one, like, challenges everything, so it made me think. There are two different genders, and the first one had to be a girl. Yeah. Now she's got this rambunctious boy, and her husband at this time has already started his affair.
421
01:28:27.000 --> 01:28:29.000
Yes.
422
01:28:29.000 --> 01:28:47.000
So he's already checked out. She feels it. Her body's probably not what it used to be. Yeah, this. This chick got the rough end of the stick on this. And, you know, maybe he didn't kill her, but he sure wasn't trying to save her.
423
01:28:47.000 --> 01:29:22.000
Yeah, it's fucked up. I do think about how they say boys are, you know, more misbehaved and more, you Know, rambunctious and stuff. And that just can't possibly be true in my scenario. I cannot imagine a kid being more obstinate and defiant than my daughter is. Like, I can't imagine it, dude. It'd be damn near impossible.
424
01:29:22.000 --> 01:29:23.000
You think?
425
01:29:23.000 --> 01:29:25.000
Huh?
426
01:29:25.000 --> 01:29:41.000
I said you think? Unless you. I think it's, it's not necessarily. I think boys would have been more energy.
427
01:29:41.000 --> 01:31:01.000
That's hard to imagine. Let's. Let's put it this way. So my, my wife was a nanny. She started taking care of these twins, boy and a girl. She started taking care of these twins when they were six weeks old and she lived with them till they were eight when, when we got married and moved out of state. So she, the mom, the dad, they got divorced. The dad was like not around much. The mom worked a ton. So she was basically these kids parent. She says our daughter is more work than the two of them were combined. So like I don't have much to go on with my experience because I've never raised kids before. But most people who interact with her say that she's a lot, especially for a girl. So I just, I have to believe that another one will just be a little more docile, maybe a little bit lower energy, you know, hopefully. Because if it was worse than this, I don't know, man might have to put her up for adoption.
428
01:31:01.000 --> 01:32:42.000
Well, let's say it was just like your daughter. I mean I never see videos. I see a lot of tick tocks and reels on like life of a mom of, of a boy and like the kids like flying into a tree or run out the. Run through glass, you know what I mean? And I, I do love them. I laugh similar to that too. So I just think for her it was a culmination of a husband that's checked out postpartum, a body that's probably blown the out, you know, stretch marked titties just swinging and, and now she doesn't feel attractive. And the husband's not clearly supporting her because he's got a, of a son at three years old. So he's clearly not there like implementing right away. So I think, yeah, I think like it was a culmination of things for her where she's like, like I do think she did it all. I'm not, I don't think that she don't. I just think because I know people that got on medication because of a suicide attempt and you know, wanted to live and had more suicidal thoughts on the medication that they were given to not necessarily get away from suicide, but to deal with some of the other things that they had done to themselves. Mm. And they were having more suicidal ideation from the. From the medication to deal with maybe the wounds then, you know. So. Yeah, it's. It's a. It could be a lot, dude. I just. I just think her husband. To get off scot freeze kind of bullshit.
429
01:32:42.000 --> 01:32:43.000
Yeah.
430
01:32:43.000 --> 01:32:45.000
Yeah.
431
01:32:45.000 --> 01:32:59.000
Well, they did have a mistrial, so they are going to have to start over from scratch. So who knows? Maybe. Maybe he's not totally off scot free. Although he's not on trial. So I guess. I guess he's.
432
01:32:59.000 --> 01:33:02.000
What was the mistrial?
433
01:33:02.000 --> 01:33:38.000
I believe it was because one juror was holding out on. They like 11 jurors wanted to. To not give her the death penalty and like, just send her to a psychiatric care facility. And one was basically making the case that she knew what she was doing, she should be held responsible for it, all this stuff. And after deliberating for like weeks, they just ended up calling it. Let me, let me fact check that.
434
01:33:38.000 --> 01:33:43.000
Life's a trip, Carnell.
435
01:33:43.000 --> 01:33:45.000
What was that?
436
01:33:45.000 --> 01:33:50.000
I said life's a trip, carnal.
437
01:33:50.000 --> 01:34:10.000
Have you seen that? Have you seen that TikTok or that reel of the kid running around the backyard? And the mom's like, what do you have? And he runs past the camera and he just holds up a big steak knife. Knife. And he goes, it's a knife.
438
01:34:10.000 --> 01:34:11.000
No, I haven't.
439
01:34:11.000 --> 01:34:28.000
So funny. Mistrial happened because the 12 person jury could not reach a unanimous verdict after seven days of deliberation. It was not because the judge found misconduct by Patrick or because any new evidence came out.
440
01:34:28.000 --> 01:34:34.000
Oh, I, I was, I. I was under the impression that, like, she got off.
441
01:34:34.000 --> 01:35:47.000
No, they wanted to. Let's see. The jury had five possible outcomes. First degree murder, Second degree manslaughter, not guilty or not guilty by reason of insanity. Central question was whether Lindsay Clancy was criminally responsible for killing the kids or whether severe mental illness, particularly the postpartum psychosis, made her legally not responsible. During deliberations, the jury eventually became 11. 1. The 11 jurors reportedly favored finding Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity. Which one juror favored murder convictions. The four person sent a note to the judge saying the holdout juror was not following the judge's instructions concerning reasonable doubt. Clancy's defense attorney asked the judge to remove that juror. The judge declined, saying he couldn't determine that one side of a disagreement in deliberations was correct. The Massachusetts supreme judicial Court also declined to intervene. The judge ultimately concluded that the jury was hopelessly deadlocked and declared a mistrial on September 4th.
442
01:35:47.000 --> 01:35:53.000
Okay, so does she have to, like, be charged again, or is it, like, automatic.
443
01:35:53.000 --> 01:35:57.000
Not charged again, but they're going to just start over with a new trial.
444
01:35:57.000 --> 01:36:01.000
That's what a mistrial is. Like, you hate. Yeah, let's just start all over.
445
01:36:01.000 --> 01:36:05.000
Yeah, they have to pick a new jury and. And start over. Yeah.
446
01:36:05.000 --> 01:36:06.000
Oh, my gosh.
447
01:36:06.000 --> 01:36:07.000
Right.
448
01:36:07.000 --> 01:36:10.000
And then hope they're not tainted.
449
01:36:10.000 --> 01:36:12.000
Oh, by now, everyone's tainted.
450
01:36:12.000 --> 01:36:13.000
You know what I'm saying?
451
01:36:13.000 --> 01:36:28.000
That's. Yeah, yeah. She's not gonna suffer any consequences for it, guarantee you. Well, that's all I got.
452
01:36:28.000 --> 01:36:55.000
That's horrible. Yeah, I didn't. Thanks for getting me up to date because I've been highly misinformed. You know, again, I'm thinking from what I heard, she got off. And people are like, well, you know what this means? Like, you know, what if. What if a judge, female judge's hormones are off and she convicts somebody of murder? Like, does she get off? She's not held accountable.
453
01:36:55.000 --> 01:37:18.000
Yeah. It is essentially saying that women can't be responsible because of their hormonal imbalances. So it does kind of fly in the face of women. Cops, women, military, like, all this stuff. It's like, so we. We can't hold. They're not responsible for their actions is kind of what you're saying.
454
01:37:18.000 --> 01:37:22.000
Oh, no better time to be a woman, right?
455
01:37:22.000 --> 01:37:53.000
Was it you? I know I say this all the time, so it might have been on the podcast, it might have not been, but have I ever told you that, like, DUIs and date rape are basically cancel each other out? Like, like a dui? You're holding someone responsible for something they did while they were drunk, and in a date rape situation, they're not responsible for something they did while they were drunk.
456
01:37:53.000 --> 01:37:57.000
Yeah. Yes, you have, and I think that's a very good point.
457
01:37:57.000 --> 01:38:06.000
Yeah, I should stop saying it so much because it seems like. It seems like I'm trying to make a case for myself.
458
01:38:06.000 --> 01:38:12.000
No, I'm actually kind of thinking if I ever got a dui, that's my argument. Yeah.
459
01:38:12.000 --> 01:38:16.000
Someone drugged me.
460
01:38:16.000 --> 01:38:31.000
Well, someone drugged me. I was under the influence, just like. And then I'm gonna reference a trial just like so and so was when she was raped. Like, I don't. I don't understand, guys, what's going on?
461
01:38:31.000 --> 01:38:56.000
Yeah, you know, look, officer, as you can see, I've got a lot of tricycle pieces stuck up in my axle. Now. I've got enough problems, and I'M trying to figure this out. Drunk. You really think I'm responsible? Hey. Yeah, I did. I thought of one more ghost story for you.
462
01:38:56.000 --> 01:38:57.000
Okay.
463
01:38:57.000 --> 01:39:21.000
Love your thoughts on this one. You're going to think I'm making this up. I'm just going to preface that at the beginning. You call whenever you want to call. But this is. This is what happened. So my grandmother had this clock. It was like one of those clocks that's under like the glass dome and it spins around. It's like metal, like gold colored.
464
01:39:21.000 --> 01:39:22.000
Yep.
465
01:39:22.000 --> 01:39:31.000
This clock stopped the morning that she died. It was a battery powered clock stopped.
466
01:39:31.000 --> 01:39:38.000
Wasn't her pacemaker the same battery powered. Was it the same battery? Like company.
467
01:39:38.000 --> 01:39:42.000
Oh my God. Class action lawsuit.
468
01:39:42.000 --> 01:39:46.000
You know, I'm looking out for you.
469
01:39:46.000 --> 01:40:52.000
I'm looking out for you in this 25 year old crap. So it stops around the time she died. The morning that she died, I think it was like 3:30 in the morning. Clock stops. Okay. It ran out of battery. Whatever. We never replaced the batteries. We just kept it on that time that it stopped on. And we kept it in the dining room. So like where you guys knocked out that wall to make the kitchen one big room. It was in that like junk room that no one ever went in. So that's where it sat on a little stand in the corner for years. So she died when I was 7. It was my 10th birthday. At 12:59pm the exact minute that I was born, the clock went off and started playing a chime.
470
01:40:52.000 --> 01:40:54.000
Okay.
471
01:40:54.000 --> 01:40:58.000
And then it went back to not working. Never worked again.
472
01:40:58.000 --> 01:41:00.000
No way.
473
01:41:00.000 --> 01:41:15.000
I 100%. I was there. I was there. It was my birthday. I remember it. I remember it happening. My mom witnessed it. She's a witness.
474
01:41:15.000 --> 01:41:16.000
I'm not saying you lie.
475
01:41:16.000 --> 01:41:23.000
I'm not saying I. I prefaced that you're gonna think it's made up because it is that crazy. But I'm just.
476
01:41:23.000 --> 01:41:26.000
I don't think it's that crazy. I'll tell you a story.
477
01:41:26.000 --> 01:41:28.000
It's unbelievable.
478
01:41:28.000 --> 01:41:29.000
Could be.
479
01:41:29.000 --> 01:41:30.000
Yeah.
480
01:41:29.000 --> 01:41:34.000
I'll tell you one. Miami's dad just passed away recently, I think you're aware.
481
01:41:34.000 --> 01:41:37.000
Yep.
482
01:41:37.000 --> 01:43:53.000
And her mom. It's been kind of a weird. Weird to say the least. Like a weird situation, I guess. You know, with the divorce kind of being so public or being made not divorced. Her ex's marriage and the son's relationship and him being away from the family. And then grandpa dies while he's gone and you know like grandma's moving on and you know, like just trying to get on with life. And today Grandma gets an email. It's from her ex. Her. Not her ex, but her husband's email. It's a picture of Jackson. And Miami is. That's Miami, son. And so she prints it out. She goes back to her computer because she's confused about this whole thing, and the email's gone. So she's like. She goes into the trash folder. Nothing. And. And lately. So she's like, asking me tonight, like, what do you think about that? Like, that's really weird. Like, she couldn't find it. You know, she's kind of weirded out about it. And, you know, on top of that, like, Jackson's been calling, like, more than normally. Like, he's been calling, like, six times a day. And he called, like, even tonight as we're, like, laying in bed. And he was like, hey, just want to say I love you, Mom. And she's like, are you. Like, you know, are you okay? You need to get to bed. Like, come on. And so she's like, what do you think? Like, do you think, like, my dad's trying to say something? I'm like, well, you know, they do show those videos of, like, the people's last nights, and, you know, they're all good and happy. You don't think he's, like, suicidal, do you? She's like, no, no, no, no. Then you ain't got nothing to worry about. You know, if. If Pops is telling you something, maybe it's something good. Maybe. Maybe that's why that bartender blocked him on Instagram, because Pops did it, you know?
483
01:43:53.000 --> 01:43:55.000
That really happened.
484
01:43:55.000 --> 01:43:59.000
Yeah. Swear. Swear. Oh, my gosh. They're kind of freaking out about it, bro.
485
01:43:59.000 --> 01:44:07.000
I. Do you think someone just has access to his email?
486
01:44:07.000 --> 01:44:20.000
I think there might be some confusion. That's my honest opinion. I think she opened up an old email, therefore, that's also why she can't locate it, because she's expecting it to be at the top of her inbox.
487
01:44:20.000 --> 01:44:21.000
Yeah.
488
01:44:21.000 --> 01:44:25.000
And it's, you know. But I ain't saying that shit.
489
01:44:25.000 --> 01:44:26.000
Yeah, no, let her have it.
490
01:44:26.000 --> 01:44:33.000
They got some. Yeah, they got some hope right now, you know, they're like, he's talking to us. And I'm like, yep. Because that's what dead people do.
491
01:44:33.000 --> 01:44:40.000
If there's one thing they're known for,
492
01:44:40.000 --> 01:44:46.000
Sending emails, you know?
493
01:44:46.000 --> 01:44:48.000
Well, I think this was a good one.
494
01:44:48.000 --> 01:45:26.000
Yeah, it was a good night. Let's think of an idea that we can both kind of dive into for next week. Yeah. Yeah, this was good because I liked how you. Where you were going with it because you had said you wanted to bring this up and you want to look at it from a husband's perspective, so. But, yeah, I kind of want to. I want to pick something and land on it. I don't know what's going. Did they ever convict that kid that. That supposedly shot Charlie Kirk?
495
01:45:26.000 --> 01:45:31.000
I believe the trial's still going on.
496
01:45:31.000 --> 01:45:32.000
Really?
497
01:45:32.000 --> 01:45:35.000
He pled not guilty.
498
01:45:35.000 --> 01:45:36.000
Well, yeah, because he's not guilty.
499
01:45:36.000 --> 01:45:45.000
Mm. It's a weird thing for someone who confessed to do supposedly.
500
01:45:45.000 --> 01:45:46.000
Yeah.
501
01:45:46.000 --> 01:45:59.000
Yeah. I mean, I've only heard, like, what Candace has covered, and I think there's still stuff being uncovered, so I don't think they've gotten anywhere near a verdict on that.
502
01:45:59.000 --> 01:46:13.000
Yeah, I didn't think they would. Yeah. All right. I was just curious, you know, I just wanted to see if, like, some real shit was coming out, you know, where they're, like, fucking come to find out. She was a handler.
503
01:46:13.000 --> 01:47:01.000
Well, the thing that she's been talking about is how the Kirk family is suing the college for the security failures. And in that lawsuit, the college is revealing that, like, everything they've been saying was pretty much false. About, like, the. Like, they were asked to do it outside. Like. Like, TPUSA specifically asked to do it outside in that location. They specifically asked not to have the college service security and to handle it themselves. Like, all this stuff like that is coming out now. So that's been kind of a field day for. For Candace.
504
01:47:01.000 --> 01:47:12.000
Yeah, I can imagine. Oh, good old Candace in her field days. Like, yeah, once. I ain't gonna lie. Once she gets on something, watch out.
505
01:47:12.000 --> 01:47:38.000
Yeah, I mean, you know, it's one of those things where it's like, she's brought up some very interesting. And then there's episodes where, you know, she talks about, like, the picture behind Charlie Kirk's desk and, like, why someone moved it, and you're like, hey, I'm not saying that that's, like, not an interesting question, but you did just spend 45 minutes talking about that. Like, was it a slow day?
506
01:47:38.000 --> 01:48:04.000
Yeah, Yeah, I get that. All right, brother. Well, this has been pseudo pseudonyms. So you've been listening to Michael Scott, Michael Peterson, and Scott Peterson, and, you know, that's our take. And you know what, guys? If you have something you want you think we should cover, just email us. Yeah, email us at.
507
01:48:04.000 --> 01:48:08.000
I believe it's pseudonyms. Podcastmail.com.
508
01:48:08.000 --> 01:48:12.000
yep. Pseudonyms. Podcast@gmail.
509
01:48:12.000 --> 01:48:23.000
And number one, since. Since number one obviously believes that Lindsay Clancy's innocent, if you want to come on and talk about that. Have you On.
510
01:48:23.000 --> 01:48:25.000
Does she. Does she think she's innocent? No.
511
01:48:25.000 --> 01:48:33.000
I'm just assuming all women do at this point, but I was mostly just teasing.
512
01:48:33.000 --> 01:48:37.000
But we're open for it if you think she's innocent. Yeah.
513
01:48:37.000 --> 01:48:45.000
You know, we'll give you a 10 minute spot. It's precious air time. We can't just devote a whole episode
514
01:48:45.000 --> 01:48:47.000
to it, but pitch it, you know?
515
01:48:47.000 --> 01:48:55.000
Yeah. You're awesome. All right, have a good week, dude. I love you.
516
01:48:55.000 --> 01:48:58.000
You too, man. Love you, too. Bye.
