SOBRE ESTE EPISÓDIO
Today on Off The Roster, the biggest story in hockey takes center stage as the Toronto Maple Leafs officially fire head coach Craig Berube. Lindsay Dunn, Dan Riccio & Cabbie Richards are joined by Nick Alberga from Leafs Morning Take who reacts to the stunning news, break down what led to the decision, what it means for the future of the organization, and the direction of the Toronto Maple Leafs in pursuit of their next head coach.
Plus, Dave Pagnotta of the Fourth Period adds his insights about the type of head coach Toronto should pursue, speculates on a list of potential head coaching candidates for the Maple Leafs as well as looks forward to hearing from General Manager John Chayka about his "organizational shift" in a press conference scheduled for 12:30p ET on Wednesday, May 13th (after the show). There is discussion surrounding Auston Matthews and what this move signals for Toronto heading into a massive offseason.
Finally, Michael Augello believes Toronto's decision should be an inspired one and not hire a recycled head coach to take the Toronto Maple Leafs into a new era. Among the candidates to consider, Manny Malhotra (former Maple Leafs Assistant Coach), David Carle (University of Denver), John Gruden (Toronto Marlies Head Coach).
We will get to (on Thursday) discuss the Buffalo Sabres’ huge win over the Montreal Canadiens and whether the series is now destined for seven games, while the guys react to the controversial goalie interference call that had fans furious and Brayden McNabb’s game misconduct in Ducks vs. Golden Knights. Plus, Marie-Philip Poulin delivers again in the PWHL playoffs, and the Blue Jays continue searching for answers after another frustrating extra innings loss with discussions surrounding Corbin’s start, Orelvis Piñango’s power surge, and whether Valenzuela or Tyler Heineman should stay in the mix once Alejandro Kirk returns.
