We are Not a Curse on the Home Team. Anymore.

Patti 0:17
Hi and welcome to episode 473 of No Crying in Baseball. The Just Trying to Persevere episode. My name is Patti. I'm here with my friend Pottymouth, and we are a little tipsy.

Pottymouth 0:27
Yeah, and we've got our recording station absolutely fucking cobbled together in a box car. Literally, we're in a box car.

Patti 0:34
We're in a box car. Probably the greatest Airbnb of all time.

Pottymouth 0:36
Yes, we

Patti 0:36
kind of love it here, but it's just not really built for our studio space. So yeah, yeah,

Pottymouth 0:41
it's lacking tables. Like that's the one thing that the boxcar is really lacking.

Patti 0:45
Just for thematic sake, you need to know that my microphone is perched on top of a stack of literally boxcar children books in order to get it high enough. So I'm leaning into a theme.

Pottymouth 0:57
Yeah, and it's working. And you look glorious because you're wearing sparkles,

Patti 1:01
I am, and so we were. You'll you'll you'll hear later. We were in Kansas City for a couple of days, and one of the giveaways was a George Brett replica jersey, which says royalty across the front. And honest to God, the the the gold trim around the neck is sparkly. Yes. So I not only say royalty, I have sparkles. The only thing missing is the tiara because why I didn't have room to pack it for this trip.

Pottymouth 1:24
Right, and who who knew that we were getting royal teachers? We didn't actually know.

Patti 1:27
We didn't know, but our last step. So we actually were in Rocheport, Missouri, and just you know it says Rocheport, but there aren't any Roaches or Ports.

Pottymouth 1:35
Knock on knock on all the things.

Patti 1:37
Yeah, knock on all the things, but there are wineries, and we just came from one. And the one we just came from is perfect for us. It was the nexus of a winery, a distillery, and a brewery.

Pottymouth 1:45
Yeah.

Patti 1:46
So we tried things from two of those places there, and we brought home things from the brewery to drink while we record. So you are forewarned.

Pottymouth 1:54
We actually brought home things from all three of the places.

Patti 1:56
Yeah, but not for not

Pottymouth 1:58
for recording right now. But we are about to drink, and you can hear it being opened by Patty. It's Broadway Brewery from here, well nearby, where somewhere near Rocheport, and it is the summer cut berry Berliner, which seems to be following on a theme that we've had with fruity beers. Cherry, very nice. Is it good?

Patti 2:19
It's very nice, even if it's blueberry and not cherry, but that's okay.

Pottymouth 2:23
All right. Well, it's multiple berries.

Patti 2:24
Okay.

Pottymouth 2:25
Yeah.

Patti 2:25
We like all the berries. All

Pottymouth 2:26
the berries. And I want to once again give a super shout out to all of our new listeners. Thank you for for checking us out. Thanks for hanging out with us at ballparks. It's been a great trip for getting to know people in various parts of the Midwest here, and special thanks to Esmark and George who have joined our Patreon community, and you'll hear more about that at the end of the show. But thanks so much, you guys, for for hopping on our box car. Yeah, which the train the train.

Patti 2:59
Yeah, on today's show, we're reporting from our epic baseball road trip. Today, we're talking about Milwaukee, our visit to Springfield to see the WPBL, and our visit to Kansas City. We've also got the reason for the trip, our visit to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, and a little bit of cross training with FIFA. Because why not? Cheers!

Pottymouth 3:18
Cheers!

Speaker 1 3:19
Oh my

Pottymouth 3:20
God! I held that steady. I think for that little video. So folks, go over to our Instagram because it's good. It's good, Patty Sparkles. I do

Patti 3:28
well. That's just a personality thing. I can't help it. Patty Sparks. Okay, so we're gonna take you through the day by day through our road trip since last we spoke last week. Day six of our road trip took us from Chicago to Milwaukee, and boy, was Milwaukee an adventure! Yeah, it was. We're going to start talking about the ballpark a little bit first, then we'll go into the game and boyfriends and whatever. But the first thing we noticed-well, actually, the first thing we noticed was how to get there. Right, and we were so excited about how to get there because initially we thought it's in the middle of nothing. Right? How do we do this? It says it's walkable, but it looks like it's highways. What do we do, and what do we learn?

Pottymouth 4:05
So we learned that there are shuttles from bars, which is free shuttles. Fucking genius. Yes, and it said you're supposed to buy a beer at the bar, but nobody really checks. But why wouldn't you? Because it's a bar, and you're going to a baseball game, and

Patti 4:17
they give you a free ride, and you pay the drivers work for tips.

Pottymouth 4:20
Yep. Oh shoot! What was the name of that bar? Something 42

Patti 4:23
dugout.

Pottymouth 4:24
Ah, it was really dugout

Patti 4:25
54.

Pottymouth 4:26
Close. You still need to remember the

Patti 4:30
42 for a visit to the museum and the meaning of life. Right. No, it was dugout 54, which was one block from our Airbnb. Yes. So even we couldn't get lost. And they had

Pottymouth 4:40
like 14 taps, or I think more than that. They had such a good beer selection.

Patti 4:44
Yeah, so that was lovely there. And then we had this terrific ride. It was you know maybe 10 minutes in the shuttle. They drop us off in front. And what we learned about the the actual outside the ballpark because there's a huge tailgating culture.

Pottymouth 4:56
Yeah,

Patti 4:57
there were there was all kinds of tailgating, which was very fun. Kind of walk through. Just have to do a shout out to my favorite sweatshirt that I saw, which was the the woman wearing a sweatshirt that said, "Your baseball pants are too tight. Said, "No woman ever, which we thought if we can get these and wear them at the women's league, that would be ideal. But we weren't able to get that. So if you if you listen to last week's episode, you know that we missed historic things twice in a row. This time we had a historic game. Yeah, we on the actual day we saw Milwaukee versus Seattle, and Milwaukee won 22 to zero, which tied a franchise record for the most runs scored in a game. Do we need to discuss weather before we discuss more of the game, or do you want to go right to the game?

Pottymouth 5:41
Oh well, I don't know. I mean, I guess because you mentioned weather, we might as well discuss it. So the the important thing about Milwaukee is it has a roof, which was such a concept because we're so used to checking the weather report and you know packing our baseball bag accordingly, and just knowing that there was a roof was like wow, we can just go to the game without fear, right? Right, and it's not a

Patti 6:06
dome; it's an optional roof. Yeah, so they closed, they closed the roof, and we're like, oh, oh, yay for us! Because here I am in my, you know, it's a beautiful night for baseball t-shirt, and all of a sudden there's storms coming, and then there was a moment in inside the ballpark when there was this horrendous noise because every single person's cell phones went off simultaneously because there was a tornado warning.

Pottymouth 6:27
Yep, yeah. But the game went on, and I thought one part that was fascinating after all the like the beeping and the echoing of the beeping, which was really cool, is is even though the roof's on, there were some windows that you could see the outside through on the side, but they had those all closed with the tornado warning. Yeah, they had

Patti 6:46
like shutters, the mechanical shutters that moved to close us to keep us safe. So we had no idea what was going on, except for we knew it was raining because it was also raining a little bit inside, which kind of cracked us up. Was like, huh, we're under a roof and we're getting rained on, or our neighbors are getting rained on. Yeah,

Pottymouth 6:59
I think it was just our special row. It was the end of our special row that had a little bit of of rain, and that worked out actually in our favor because we didn't have an aisle seat, but the folks who did have the aisle seat got wet and moved away, and so all of a sudden our path was clear, so we could get out of our our row without any problems.

Patti 7:17
And yet we really didn't because we were so compelled by this game because this was the freaking craziest game I've ever witnessed personally in my life.

Pottymouth 7:24
So should I start with the the first run part?

Patti 7:27
Sure.

Pottymouth 7:28
So you know another sort of backstory on this is when we last recorded, we were convinced that we were a curse because the first three games that we went to, the home team lost, and two of those three were squeakers. But this Milwaukee Seattle game was anything but. It sort of like swung the pendulum all the way over to the other side. It wasn't convincing in the beginning, which makes it even more fun. The first run scored in the bottom of the first inning was a single by former baseball boyfriend of mine, William Contreras, and I've been enjoying watching Big Brother Wilson on the Red Sox and Baby William hit that first run single with Jake Bauer crossing the plate due to a Cal Raleigh error. Poor Cal, he's had a really not having a bad bad year, and then there were no more runs until the bottom of the fifth pitcher's duel.

Patti 8:18
Who knew we had a pitcher's duel until we didn't.

Pottymouth 8:21
Until we didn't, and then my baseball boyfriend. So I don't think we mentioned what baseball boyfriends are for our new listeners. If you stay with us through the off season, you will hear us team by team, each pick a player for each team because there's something super cool about them, and we just basically want to hang out and have a beer with them. Call them our baseball boyfriends. We get a whole collection for the season, whittle them down to our fantasy teams, but we keep track of all the guys that we chose. So I chose David Hamilton because, of course, his Red Sox roots and that big trade, and he singled in the bottom of the fifth, and then in the David Hamilton way, and this is what his his value was known as: stole second, and then stole third, two bases in one inning, and scored on Jackson Chodeyo, who's my last year baseball boyfriend pick for the Brewers. He got an RBI, and that made it a very reasonable two to nothing, which also seemed you know like this is still a competitive game, right? Yeah. And then baseball boyfriend current David Hamilton. So he and Kyle Harrison, who was pitching, and that was another huge highlight for me. Those are the two who came over from the Red Sox in exchange for Caleb Durbin and Andrew Monasterio and Siegler, whose name I'm blanking right now. And of course, I didn't take good notes. But it's it's a win win. It's the best trade ever because both teams are getting what they needed. So Kyle Harrison pitched five innings, two hits, two walks, six six strikeouts. Looked great. David Hamilton not only did he get those two steals for me, he got a home run, and it was. His fourth fourth home run, so he's not a home run hitter, but we were there and we saw it. Fourth home run in the season in the bottom of the sixth, and then just I don't know. Do you have more scoring to talk about? Because I do, I do. Okay, there's so much more.

Patti 10:17
So I don't currently have a Brewers active boyfriend, but I was very excited to see Dominic Kenzone from Seattle because I, you know, he's one of my espresso espresso boys. He did hit a double. He was DHing, so he was responsible for one out of the five hits for Seattle, which wasn't a lot. Didn't score because Seattle didn't score. But my past, my former once and forever boyfriend, Kristen Yelich homered, and that was lovely to see. And not only did that he did did he do that, but in the bottom of the eighth, he hit what was a sacrifice fly, which you know scored one runner. And then Julio Rodriguez,

Pottymouth 10:53
former baseball boy from Pick a Mine from Seattle,

Patti 10:56
did well. He lost count of the outs, and weirdly, this was scored a throwing error. But what it was was him assuming it was two outs, turning around and throwing the ball that he caught for the sac fly into the stands. That was a ball in play, which means the other two runners on base scored runs. And so, what was a sac fly with one RBI ended up scoring three runs.

Pottymouth 11:20
And my scoring is so fucked up because I didn't know what to do because they were still running. I thought it was over. I was just I was more confused than Julio. I think.

Patti 11:27
Yeah, no, it was crazy. I was really happy to see Joey Ortiz, who was a former Brewers boyfriend of mine, because he used to be on the O's, and this was another case of of trades working out because he was getting no time with the Orioles, and he's kind of a star. He's a favorite with the Brewers. He's getting stuff done, both with with the bat and on defense. So it was really fun to see him.

Pottymouth 11:47
That's same with David Hamilton. Like he was definitely that guy who is filling in all over the place, but he seems pretty solid with the Brewers and super happy for that. So this crazy game in which the Brewers scored 22 runs out of the 12 Brewers who ended up playing because there was some pinch hitting, eight got at least one RBI. That's a lot of RBI. They

Patti 12:08
started subbing people out once everybody in the starting lineup had a hit. That's when they started subbing people out. Okay, you guys are all done. You've checked your boxes. We're out.

Pottymouth 12:16
Might as well. I do need to add that I thought I didn't have a Seattle boyfriend, and then Brandon Donovan comes on the screen. I was totally sleeping on him, so he has been out for a really long time, and I missed him coming back. He came back on August 4 after being on the IL since may 15 with a left groin strain, which probably had to do with last season's last off season's hernia surgery, so he's back. I didn't have him on my roster because I was not paying attention, and he hits a double in the top of the first. So he is one of those other guys who got a hit for Seattle. He moved to third base on a wild pitch, and he is the only Seattle player that made it as far as third base. I did, so I got all excited once I saw him play, and I thought I got to get him on the lineup right away. And then we got busy. This has been a really busy trip, and we're doing all this doing some stuff. And so I finally remembered once we got settled here in Rocheport to try to put him on my lineup yesterday, Sunday the 23rd, and that morning he was concussed in the batting cages before the game. Not even in the game. Not even in the game. So he's on my IL now. He had been doing really well. So between August 4 and August 22, in those 14 games, 58 plate appearances. He was batting 283, 684 OPS. So he's got to put on the gas a little bit. But he has only played 39 games total this season, with 277 average, 780 OPS overall. So, if his head is okay, I hope his head is okay. Yeah.

Patti 13:57
No. Two more things about the stadium, the other song, like the things that they that they all do, they sing "Roll Out the Barrel, which, as a nice Polish girl, I really really enjoyed, and yes, knew the words too. I didn't need the thing on the screen, and I will say they the Milwaukee Brewers, yeah, whether it's their name or not, had the best craft beer situation, both with numbers of craft beer in an easily found location, all together with bartenders, with pourers who knew what they were talking about. So that was a lovely thing, and I had a pistachio cream ale from Indeed Brewing, and it was one of my favorite beers of the trip so far. We've been we're 1700 miles from this trip,

Pottymouth 14:41
so many beers. I don't so many beers. Counted the beers. We haven't counted the beers.

Patti 14:45
Yeah, I don't remember what you had. Did you have something?

Pottymouth 14:47
I had an IPA. Okay. Yeah, and it was very good. But I definitely appreciated the big sign that said, you know, Wisconsin. Like it was all local. Yeah. Yeah. No. There was no excuse for other ballparks to not do that.

Patti 14:58
Yeah. No, for sure. So the next day, we had an adventure where we were headed to Springfield to see the women's professional baseball league, and so on the way we had to stop and pay our respects. That's right. We stopped in Rockford to see Maybell Blair Park, the home of the Rockford Peaches,

Pottymouth 15:21
and it's also exciting because the International Women's Baseball Center. Thank you. I was like museum IWC. Their their future site is there, and so we saw the signs that said future site, and we know that the Women's Baseball World Cup finals are supposed to be held there next year, and hopefully we can go and check it out. But it was it was nice to be on that spot.

Patti 15:46
Yep, it was it was very cool. It felt right. It felt right. And then we moved on to Springfield, which was so much fun. A quick thing. So in Springfield, they play at a ballpark that has an independent league also playing there. It's called Robin Roberts Park. It seats 5000 people, so it feels you know kind of like a nice minor league park. I had that vibe to it. The most common jersey there was Kelsey Whitmore.

Pottymouth 16:09
Yeah, and I will say

Patti 16:10
my favorite T-shirt that I saw says the following: "Regulate Dick, not Jane.

Pottymouth 16:15
Amen to that.

Patti 16:16
Amen to that.

Pottymouth 16:17
So in that first game that we saw, that was the San Francisco Fire Bells against the New York Heights. There was so much action. My shoutout for that stadium is the woman with tequila because we were looking around for something to drink. The beer offerings were much better on the board than they were in reality because beer hasn't been coming through. Although we did end up drinking a really good IPA that night, we did. But there was a woman that we passed by that said, "I have tequila, and we're like, "You know, that's always a good thing to have.

Patti 16:48
But when she said it, it was kind of like it's almost like a nudge wink. It's like I've got tequila. Yeah,

Pottymouth 16:53
right. Like you want to be over here.

Patti 16:54
Yeah.

Pottymouth 16:55
And we saw Justine Siegel walk by. We said hi. Remember us from NCIB? She said sure. And then she had a lot of shit to do, so she kept going. She's

Patti 17:03
kind of in charge of the whole thing. Yeah, oh,

Pottymouth 17:04
definitely. But I am so excited that I scored my Boston Hunters hat that night. So this is the San Francisco New York game, and the merch, the booth, was just the line was crazy when we first got there, and there were signs that said all hats sold out and a whole bunch of other shit shows. All jerseys sold out. Yeah, and by the end of that night, all the San Francisco, everything was sold out. Right.

Patti 17:26
Yep. Yep. For sure. I went. I really like the colors of the San Francisco, and I thought maybe that maybe that's you know because I have generic league stuff, but no. So I kind of went over there. They had nothing. They had maybe six or 7t-shirts for other teams, nothing for San Francisco, and wow, it was so picked over. It was crazy, and but people are lined up for like the scraps.

Pottymouth 17:46
Yeah, which is exciting, you know. So many, and there were so many people in the stands with gear, tons of gear. And so in the middle of the game, I went out probably for the bathroom and wandered by and saw a hunter's hat, and there were literally three hunters hats in the corner, and I was like, "That I'm taking that as a sign. Yes, please, I will buy one. I have my hunter's hat. So that game was all New York and San Francisco, despite my hunter's hat. New York scored five at the top of the first inning, and then in the bottom of the first inning, it was crazy fun to see Kelsey Whitmore, you know, absolute star hit a two-run home run, which also at that point tied her with Dana Benitez's home run record at seven. The barrage continued with so much scoring. Skylar Kaplan, also on San Francisco, got her first career home run. Super fun to watch, three RBI home run, and then by the end of the first inning, San Francisco was up six to five. So it was a long first inning. It was also a long second inning. New York scored again at the top of the second. San Francisco scored again in the bottom of the second to bring it to six to eight. And then in the top of the fifth, Denae Benitez said, "No, this tie will not stand. And she goes back on top with her eighth career home run. I believe that they are tied up again, though. At this point, at the time of recording, so the New York Heights won 11 to eight after a lot of back and forth and some lightning. So in the middle of what was it, the sixth inning, right? Yeah,

Patti 19:15
yeah, maybe even later.

Pottymouth 19:16
Yeah, because they only go seven. They only go seven. Yeah, they go six. I'm pretty sure it was the middle of the sixth. I I didn't see it, but you could sort of feel it in the air that rain was coming, and they scuffled on the field and were all in metal stands, and they called it and said, you know, waiting to see what happens with the lightning, and we thought we better go, and they didn't start again, so we made the right choice. Yeah,

Patti 19:38
no, we sure did. So we went back the next day, which was great. We did we had super fun things with friends around Springfield, so that was fantastic. So you know we had some non baseball cultural things, Frank Lloyd Wright, possibly two breweries.

Pottymouth 19:51
That was great. We did do two breweries. We did two cherry sours at both of them too. Yeah, so we would battle the cherry sour.

Patti 19:56
Yep, yep. And the one we decided was the winner was the only one. We could actually take with us that edged out the availability to actually take that to buy that to take on the road was excellent. But the very special thing about that night was friend of the pod Brian came and met us there with his son, and so that was super cool to watch the game with a longtime listener.

Pottymouth 20:15
Absolutely, and my friends who live in Madison, Wisconsin, Beth and Barb came down, and so we had like a whole little group there cheering on, and it was like everybody also around us kind of joined in. Everybody was super friendly. It was a great, great crowd. There was a lot of discussion about scoring happening a couple of rows ahead of us because things got pretty complicated. So this was the big game that I was excited about because it was my first time seeing my Boston Hunters, and they were playing against New York. So of course, there's this big rivalry. The the highlight, I think, well, one of the highlights for me was interviewing. I was going around with the mini mics, and I interviewed a woman pregame. Who, hi, if if you're if you're listening, I still have to process the the audio, so I don't have the name written down yet. But it was a woman who had played baseball, like she's seemed to be sort of like around our age, and talked about playing baseball and playing baseball in a women's team in Florida, and just how hard it was in a lot of ways, and how amazing it was for her and her father to be there watching this game. So please stay tuned. For at some point, my audio is going to be going up on Patreon, probably for free, to encourage more people to check it out. And then Maybell Blair, the the mascot, her dance moves. Also, we've got a little bit of recording. Ally Schroeder, starting pitcher, she's in the documentary "See Her, Be Her. So please check that out because that highlights her career as a firefighter and just how absolutely badass this woman from Canada is. And and on the Canadian team, she was really solid. The teams were tied at one after three innings, and then New York did the New York thing. They busted out with three runs in the top of the fourth, although only one of those was actually an earned run for Allie. And then I, you know, I'm so sorry for Olivia Bricker, the relief pitcher for the Hunters. She just didn't, couldn't hand it hold it together. She gave up four runs, all earned on just two outs, and then they brought in Denver Bryant, who's my previously announced first baseball girlfriend. She is amazing. She had started the game with leadoff DH. They bring her in to pitch. The guys in front of us were really glad about that because the other team, the Heights, when they brought in players to pitch, and were coming off of positions. It was a whole lineup thing, and it was a lot of confusion in the scorekeeping. But Denver being a DH and then pitching made it super super clean, and it was clear at that point she had to finish the game. So there aren't a lot of players on these teams, and once you know you've run out of pitchers. You've kind of run out of pitchers. She only ended up with one earned run on two innings and one out with three walks and a strikeout. The top of the sixth was one of the big moments of the game. Sure was. We watched history. The first manager ejection in WPPL history was Jameel Weeks, who is the new manager for the Boston Hunters, and if you there's a great link that's going to be in the show notes, and you can watch for yourself, because I believe it's because there were only two umpires, and the woman who was closest to the action. So the the question was a shortstop caught the ball, threw it to third. On at that moment, it seemed like a double play because the woman at who was on third base had a lead, so it seemed like she caught the ball and she caught a fly

Patti 23:50
ball. She caught a fly ball. The first out,

Pottymouth 23:52
yeah, and it was more of a line, so it was low, and that's part of the problem. So

Patti 23:56
the question was, did it bounce or did she catch it cleanly? Yeah,

Pottymouth 23:59
and did it get to third base and get the woman out. So the the ump's ruled neither one that there was no out. So Jamil Weeks had some things to say. If you look at the video, you can understand it's kind of hard to slow it down. Her glove hits the dirt, so dirt comes up. So the the umpire might have seen the dirt and thought that the ball hit the dirt. I think, in my very biased view, you all can check for yourselves. I think it was a catch. I think it should have been an out. I think at the time when we were watching Jameel argue with the umpires, he seemed very cool and collected.

Patti 24:35
He was very calm. Yeah, there didn't seem to be any raised voices. He just seemed to be having a conversation with both umpires, and then he turned around and went back to the dugout. We have no idea what was said in that group, but it was like a peaceful, you know, departure back to the dugout, and the the umpires assumed their positions behind home plate and near second.

Pottymouth 24:56
Yeah, and then the umpire in the field near second walks back.

Patti 25:00
Super slowly,

Pottymouth 25:01
yeah, and and throws him out,

Patti 25:03
walks all the way to the dugout, and then ejects him. So something happened after they all resumed their playing positions again, yeah, and caused that to happen.

Pottymouth 25:14
The the link that that you should look at the lip reading involved. This is not John Boy. This is somebody else, but does some lip reading, and it looks like Jameel said to the umpire, "Watch your mouth, which makes me, you know. So therefore, manager's not supposed to say that to the umpire. I understand rules broken, being, you know, rude to the umpire or whatever the name of the rule is. However, if he's saying to her, "Watch your mouth. I'm wondering what she said to him, and we just don't know.

Patti 25:43
We don't know. And then when he was ejected, he went back to the dugout, and they came back out and took the slowest walk humanly possible along the third base line to exit. And like he was halfway there, and all of a sudden, you know, Justine is like following him out to have a little conversation outside the fence, and I would love to know what happened. But he was definitely taking his time.

Pottymouth 26:06
There is so much more I want to know about that. Oh, and what happened in the conversation? Absolutely. So notably, this is only the fourth game for Jameel Weeks. In case you don't remember, I was very excited to hear that Keith Falk was named the manager of the Boston Hunters, you know, famed pitcher from 2004, winning the World Series for the Red Sox, and he was actually fired. He was dismissed on August 9th, and there's depending on what article you read, depends on how it's explained. He was commuting from Arizona, and according to him, this was approved by the WPBL CEO Keith Stein, who I know nothing about. But apparently, this man told mr. Folk that yes, you just have to be in Springfield from Wednesday through Sunday, and you can be at your home in Arizona the other the rest of the time. That's not an easy commute, and it's-I mean-that's so shitty for so many reasons. And apparently, Justine was not aware of this and did not like this arrangement and said so. She also pointed out about relating with the players and felt like I don't know if it's old guy, young. It's a very young team. All of Boston is under 26 years old. You know, before he was dismissed, I saw players saying nice things about him, but I don't know if they were not feeling comfortable. So Folk is disappointed. He said, "quote I think the ownership just had kind of a change of mind on the schedule we'd agreed upon. So his record in those measly three games were two losses and one win. I think the Bostons are still the Boston Hunters are at the bottom of the barrel right now, but Jamil Weeks also has his own MLB cred. He was a major league player from 2011 to 16. His first two years were definitely by far the most play time when he was with the A's. He was with the A's actually three years, but those first two years were most of his major league years. He then went to the Orioles for half of a year in 2014, and then at the I believe it was at the deadline went to the Red Sox for the rest of that season and the following season, and ended his career with the Padres in 2016. But all of those years after his first two were really just a couple dozen games. I think a really good feature or or qualification for him as a manager is he spent a year playing in Mexico with the the Mexican league that plays at the same time as MLB. That's LMB with the Acereros de Manclova. Before he was named manager of the Hunters, he was actually on the coaching staff for the L.A. Queens, who are doing very well and have a lot of star players. So I don't quite know how that shuffling went, but I like him. I feel good, and you know I just got to get behind my guy, right? And I stood up and clapped as he took his slow walk because I'm behind him. Yeah,

Patti 29:00
no, that was a lot of a lot of attitude. I think in a very very good way. Okay, the next day we depart Springfield. The very next day. The very next day. This has

Pottymouth 29:08
been so busy.

Patti 29:09
Day nine of the road trip, we depart Springfield and we go 313 miles to Kansas City to see two Royals games. So again, we're going to start with the ballpark, and then move into the two games that we saw. So here's my impression: the ballpark itself is really kind of beautiful. The scoreboard is, you know, famous for like at the time it was built. I don't know if it still is, like the largest scoreboard in MLB, and at the time it was the only one that was doing things like showing statistics and all that. So it was kind of a big deal to have this beautiful scoreboard. They have fountains because it's a city of fountains. It's laid out beautifully. It's got the great kids section.

Pottymouth 29:47
So much to do. Like there's mini golf and a carousel and cornhole and like yeah, you could just hang out there for a while with the family.

Patti 29:56
So they thought of a lot of really really good things, but they dumped it. In like this weird nowhere land place, so it's very open, so you can see outside of the stadium, and what you see is the highway and two motels and a gas station.

Pottymouth 30:11
It's such a lovely view. Like the sky was gorgeous. It was beautiful. Under the sky was like what are we looking at? So

Patti 30:17
more in a minute because they are in fact you know trying to build a downtown ballpark, so I'll talk about that in detail in a minute. But so that was, you know, beautiful park, bad location. The video actions, you know, like the they're stuck in 1992. There were kiss cams both nights. I haven't seen a kiss cam in I don't know how many years. So there was there was a lot of that happening. There was a really horrible dating game thing on video, which was very cringy. The one that I was amused by because people were voluntarily participating was awkward dad dance cam, and they did it to Queen Don't Stop Me Now, which is also kind of hilarious. And so these guys were absolutely getting into it. So that it wasn't like you're being put on the spot, so that one I kind of like, but there was just a lot of cringe.

Pottymouth 31:05
Yep,

Patti 31:06
there's a lot of cringe. Absolutely, the first night, the most popular jersey was Bobby Witt Jr. The fans, you know, were so into the game, but also because they were winning. So that that was like not the case in other places until Milwaukee, so you know that may have hampered fans to other places. There was a lot of tarps off action the first night. We were not excited about that, but there it

Pottymouth 31:30
is. Yeah, you know, I mean, the part that got upsetting about it, you know, at first I was like, "All right, whatever. Here's the guys. I don't like it when they chant USA, and you pointed out that they did it when Jack Cagliano was at the plate, who played for Team Italy. Yeah, but he is

Patti 31:47
American, but he played for Team Italy. So why? What is the point of chanting USA at all? But also specifically at this time, you guys are not paying attention. Right. So just along as we're there, Jack is my boyfriend on the other royals, you know, one of my espresso boys, and he had just come back from being day to day, and maybe that was too soon because he got absolutely nowhere the first game. Although Bobby went Jr. my my previous couple times ago boyfriend had two singles, Colt Keith, who was you know the back where we played the Tigers, so when we're

Pottymouth 32:21
at Detroit, right?

Patti 32:22
And so he was he pitch hit and walked, and then he dehged. We stayed in the game and DH, and he had a double. So he did pretty well, kind of coming late into the game, which was more than the disaster that we saw that he had when we were at in Detroit. Yeah.

Pottymouth 32:38
So for me, my shout out for the Royals Stadium was the the first game certificate person. So the first thing that we did was get pins. So they had two different stations for first game stuff. We got our pins, and then we went over to get the certificates, and of course we're chatting with the woman who is giving certificates. And it turned out that she had tried out for the WPBL. So shout out to you, and I'm sorry I didn't get your name. We'll work on that.

Patti 33:04
What was funny was we know we were told her that we were on this baseball tour, and she asked us, "Have you been to Springfield? As if she was going to stump us. It's like, "Yeah, we were there yesterday. And she was like, "Oh, so that was pretty funny, actually.

Pottymouth 33:16
And then, of course, the other highlight was mr. Pottymouth joining us for the Kansas City Games. Hey, mr. Piemouth, that was super super fun. Yeah, so

Patti 33:25
ugliest ugliest giveaway ever that first night.

Pottymouth 33:28
Oh right, it was a crossbody bag that was the new City Connect, and it was just a little floofy, floofy, froofy. What's all those things? It was

Patti 33:38
bad.

Pottymouth 33:39
Yeah,

Patti 33:39
it was it it was bad, so

Pottymouth 33:41
I'm gonna give it to to elementary school kids who I know because they'll like it.

Patti 33:45
What I'm gonna say is it may or may not appear in the prize pack for the fantasy league, so this may encourage people to perform badly in the fantasy, so they don't get stuck with the Kansas City Royals crossbody bag.

Pottymouth 33:57
Yeah, I I actually liked the Royals City Connect when I saw it online, but much less so in person. I like the I like the the scoreboard colors. It's it just felt like a big bike pride night. So I was I'm all for that, but the actual uniforms themselves, I don't know. I just didn't like. But as

Patti 34:18
we moved around Kansas City, we saw those colors are actually colors used by the city of Kansas City for their city of fountain stuff. So this is another. It turns out this is another one of those. If you're from the city, you get it more than outside in. So I'm I'm still a fan. We're still going to be friends. We're not going to lose friendship over this. But you know, I I kind of dug that if you are part of the city, this is going to be meaningful to you.

Pottymouth 34:40
So I didn't have anyone to cheer for for the Tigers, which was okay because we cheer for the home team. And just check out last week's episode on Wensel Perez and what he's been up to. But my current baseball boyfriend for the Royals, oh my God, my baseball boyfriends showed up in fantasy. And you did so well. You guys did

Patti 34:58
so great.

Pottymouth 34:59
It was awesome. I. To see Carter Jensen hit a home run in the seventh inning, he went one for four with a walk. Also, you know, this it was Players Weekend, which I think was much more apparent for folks watching on TV than it was for people in the stadium. They

Patti 35:14
didn't even mention it one time, even on the on the video board.

Pottymouth 35:17
And we can't see the cleats or the bats. So, like in social media, I've seen a lot of stuff about the cleats and the bats, but we couldn't tell. So it turns out that Carter Jensen had his cleats designed by kids staying at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, which is a hospital for pediatric cancer care. So he's notably from Kansas City. He's a hometown guy. He loves this team, and he's been involved from the get-go. He went there in person, and this is also extra baseball boyfriend points for putting like your body in the action. You're not just throwing money at it. You're not just putting your name on it. But he went to the hospital with the cleats, brought them around, and had the kids draw on them. And not only that, but he goes there on the regular. This isn't just a one-time thing for Players' Weekend. He visits there. He knows the kids. He knows their family. He said, at the end of the day, it means as much to me as it does for them to have something cool like this. So I gotta love it. I think that's you know great pick, and he is absolutely learning from the elder statesman on the team, Salvador Perez, and he's going to be going into that. You know, every day, he is pretty much the everyday catcher at this point. Vinny Pasquantino also got a home run, which was exciting, and I think I picked him last year. He went two for four with a home run in the sixth, and I knew that the Pasquatch was coming. So Vinny Pasquantino, every time he gets a hit, even there's this Sasquatch Pasquatch Bigfoot guy that walks along a little thing in the outfield, and I don't think I have a really good picture of it because I just didn't know where to look that first night. But that was very cool to see. I think I got a photo of him on the big screen.

Patti 37:02
Very nice. So we stayed for our second day. We'll talk more about what we did that very day because it was very exciting in just a minute. But the ball game again. It was Kansas City versus Detroit. Kansas City won again, so we are not a curse on the home team anymore. This night, the most common jersey was George Brett because they had a very very good giveaway, which was a George Brett replica jersey, which is a pullover jersey. It's royal blue on the front in gold letters. It says royalty, and I swear to you, I don't know how this got past anybody, but the gold trim around the neck is sparkly. It's a sparkly George Brett replica. I can't imagine the replica of anything he ever wore.

Pottymouth 37:44
Yeah, look look at her Instagram because you'll see Patty wearing it, and it's glorious.

Patti 37:48
So that was pretty cool. So so that game, Jack Hagler doubled and scored in the sixth. So that was exciting for me. That was the one thing he did, and then the next day went back to the day to day. So I think he's not really ready yet, and of course Bobby Wood singled stole a base in the first, so that was kind of fun. Colt was actually in the lineup this time, as opposed to pitch hitting, did nothing. So when he pitch hit and then DH, he had a good game the day before. He did absolutely nothing in the lineup. Sorry, it was also ladies' night, which was weirdly it was good on the field, less good, you know, and the stuff like we're like there are all these booths out on the concourse, and there was like cosmeticy things and flowery things. So that's fine, that's fine, whatever, we don't care. But on the field, yeah, before the game started, they honored two state championship, you know, women's softball teams, which was cool. The woman who threw out the first pitch, Patty Phillips, is the CEO of Women Leaders in Sports. Wow,

that was very cool. Lakota women presented the colors, you know, for for the anthem, and so that kind of honoring and notice, I think they did well.

Pottymouth 39:00
Yeah,

Patti 39:00
the like the little the the the extra things are like oh here's what you get for being a lady that is impressive around the outside but I like I liked the the pregame stuff

Pottymouth 39:09
absolutely so again our winning streak continued so Kansas City likes us they won three to one over Detroit this was also awesome to have a game with Brian and Son another game and I really liked the Kansas City Hall of Fame, the Royals Hall of Fame, that they had. That just the stadium had so many different things to offer, and the Hall of Fame had everything from you know a very good focus on their players and the three retired numbers, but it also went into like the history of bats and balls. That's

Patti 39:40
where I learned the fun fact about the the scoreboard.

Pottymouth 39:43
Oh, excellent! Yeah, just so, and it was air conditioned, which didn't hurt. That was kind of nice, and so what? Absolutely, like beyond doubt, completed my experience in Kansas City. I'm getting like teary-eyed just saying it. It was amazing, Salvador Perez. Hit a home run in the fourth inning. I just feel like it. You know that it. He got those 318 and broke the record, broke George Brett's record, which is why you know the the shirts and everything like that. And there's a Salvi 318 thing on the field, but to watch him get yet another one, and I think it's

Patti 40:18
like 320. I think I think we saw 320. Nice. Yeah,

Pottymouth 40:20
that sounds good.

Speaker 2 40:21
Yeah,

Pottymouth 40:21
I was. I just feel like I could just. You know, I'm. My trip has been fulfilled. I also got to see Michael Walker pitch. So Michael Waka, I remember so clearly from his rookie year in 2013 with the Cardinals, where he was just so hot and so scary during that World Series, which who the Red Sox pulled off, but he's still dealing. So he only let up one run on seven innings, and that one run was a Howie Lee solo home run. That's it. One run on seven innings with one walk. The man is 35 years old. He's been pitching since 2013. I feel lucky to have been able to see him yet again. You know, he had that one year with the Red Sox. Of course, I have to throw that in, but other than that, he's been a lot other places.

Patti 41:09
The other of the spectrum, Craig Kimbrel came out to close. We're all like, "Oh

Pottymouth 41:12
my God, that was crazy! And we all got nervous because they only had a two-run lead. And those of us who have like been fans of teams that Craig Kimbrough is on, got a little bit stressed,

Patti 41:25
right? For sure. But he pulled it out and did it. He pulled it out. Oh, the other thing we that happened was the first night, maybe. I'm sorry, I forgot to mention it. Was that we saw Bobby Witt get his heart and hustle. Oh yeah. So we've seen two heart and hustle awards. Thanks, which is pretty good. So let me take a break from our day to day stuff to talk about the proposal for the new Royals ballpark because clearly we in our two days there saw an absolute need for it because it's at a terrible place. Should be in a better place. There's nothing to see. It's like just out. You know, we yeah you have to drive. There's no options. The bars aren't sending shuttles there.

Pottymouth 41:56
Right.

Patti 41:57
So, as you probably know, Hallmark Cards is headquartered in Kansas City, so that's like the biggest. I didn't know that. Yeah, that's it in

Pottymouth 42:05
Kansas City. Yeah,

Patti 42:06
yeah. No, that's that's kind of it's kind of a big deal for Kansas City. So the Royals are partnering with Hallmark Cards on this because Hallmark Cards has what's called the the Crown Center, which is a big entertainment and shopping complex that that already exists, right? So, the proposal for the new ballpark complex would be to use part of this existing crowd center. Apparently, part of that property is not well used right now. So, like, well, how about we toss a ballpark in there and we work with Hallmark to develop this? So, the week we were there, they made some major announcements about the ballpark, including the total cost is going to be over 2 million $2 billion, right? And approximately nine $911 million would be from the royals and other private sources, which means the remaining more than half, 1.1 4 billion, would be from public sources.

Pottymouth 43:04
Oh dear!

Patti 43:05
So interesting. Okay, so the Kansas City Council approved a plan that would provide $600 million of this public funding, and a lot of it comes from state sources like tax credits, existing infrastructure funding, but it still leaves like sort of a 101 million dollars as quote other public sources that they haven't really identified. The biggest pushback about this is because council acted on this without putting it out for a public vote, without allowing the citizens to vote on. Do you think this is a good use of public funds as public tax dollars. What do the voters think? The council didn't care, so that's where the biggest push. Like a lot, a lot of voters said we're kind of interested in this, but you need to talk to us more about this. And there's actually some housing that exists right now. It's kind of luxury housing, but in that Crown Center, oh, and people said, "I just spent all this money, and now I'm going to be looking at a ballpark.

Pottymouth 44:03
Oh wow!

Patti 44:04
So there's other for some people, yes. But there are, in fact, other people who would appreciate it as much as us. But the complex, as in all of these, whenever you hear about a new ballpark proposal, restaurants, stores, entertainment, offices, hotels, housing, green space outside of the stadium, so that's kind of amorphous. This big sentence full of oh, you know, all these other things. They do estimate that this, if this goes through, it will create like 200 more permanent jobs in Kansas City. A lot of the existing jobs from the current stadium would just transfer over, so those would not be new jobs. Who we don't know the same people would have them because if it's different location, it may not be feasible. But there would be a net gain in permanent jobs in Kansas City. The Royals will sign a 30-year lease to remain at the new ballpark. Now this is interesting. They pledge to donate over $50 million to community groups and local initiatives. That's $50 million over 30 years. They can do better. They can do better. Now the things that they're saying, like upfront things, would be like $5 million to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. Yay, we're all for that. So good. There's a Houseway Gateway program which we get 5 million. There's a 1% for the arts program. We get $14 million, and then the rest of it would be sort of an annual case by case thing, but there's there's more money there. There's more money there. Hallmark is also talking about building their new headquarters, you know, near that, and that would be part of the cityscape view from the ballpark. And cityscape views are so much more interesting than two hotels and a gas station and a highway. So I'm interested in following this because I'm fascinated by public funding for ballparks and stadiums, and part of this, of course, the Chiefs are moving across the border into Kansas. So, like when we were there, the Arrowhead Stadium is you know shares parking basically with Kauffman, so it's right there. And so they're they're leaving. So I think that was part of it. If they're out, we're out. What's going to

Pottymouth 46:01
happen to all that? Like I don't know.

Patti 46:03
So yeah, so they're going to have to tear down a lot of stuff, and somebody's going to make some money developing that spot. I guess.

Pottymouth 46:09
I hope so because, damn, that's going to look ugly.

Patti 46:12
Hey, Pottyboth, why did we take on this trip to begin with?

Pottymouth 46:15
So we got to go to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, and huge, huge shout out to former guest on No Crying in Baseball, President of the museum Bob Kendrick, who made our visit oh so incredibly special by meeting us there, starting a tour with us, and it was it was us and a few other folks that he had invited. And as he went through the museum, it was like more people came in, and more people came in because he's just so engaging.

Patti 46:44
Like you, you, you couldn't walk by him if you started. If you heard him telling a story, you absolutely stopped at it and say, "I want to know more about this. He was so warm and inviting and engaging, and he, you can tell he's so passionate about his job, and his job is to make you also feel passionate about Negro Leagues,

Pottymouth 47:03
and he's good at it because because we did we did. And when you're talking about the the fundraising, he is now he said $50 million I believe is the number that he needs to raise to for the new site of the Negro Leagues Museum, which is going to be not too far from the current site and also in a historically important site, and it needs to happen because there is so much more. This museum is bursting. It's it's using a very small amount of space to tell a lot of history, and you know that there are more artifacts and so many more things that need to be displayed, and it needs to happen. They need this expansion. So, if you are interested in supporting that, go to Negro League of Space L N L B m.com, and there are ways to donate. dot Yeah, it might be. I don't know. You'll find it. We'll put it in the show notes. Pat, you'll take care.

Patti 47:56
Ask Uncle Google; he'll help you.

Pottymouth 47:57
Yeah. So I just, you know, as I was going through my pictures and videos, I have so so many, and I'm gonna start putting those up gradually on Patreon and other social media places. I think I put a little bit up, but I'll do I'll do more because I just couldn't stop taking pictures. There were two really fascinating things that just made me think for a while afterwards. One was focusing on the issue of Jackie Robinson's integration into baseball, setting the the pace for the rest of the country, so that it was the precedent. It wasn't as a result of other integration efforts. It's baseball that really started integration. His integration date was 1947. United States military integrated in 1948. Brown versus Board of Education was 1954. So baseball really led the way, and that's like so much of what we talk about on this podcast is how baseball is so connected to so many other issues, and it was just so heartwarming to see the passion that Bob talked about. You know the importance of baseball in integrating society, and the second thing that I will hold dear is the attitude of Buck O'Neil. So, so Bob talked a lot about Buck O'Neil. They were great friends. Buck O'Neil was was involved in the museum when when Bob first started. He was the

Patti 49:25
founder, I think, of the museum. Yeah,

Pottymouth 49:27
and he when when they finally decided in 2006 to let in players of the Negro Leagues into the Hall of Fame, he missed by one vote. And Bob repeated that you know there was no limit. It wasn't like they only could let in the 17 people that they did. For some reason, Bob Buck missed by one vote, but his attitude was totally positive about it. He immediately said he wanted to speak at the ceremony. He celebrated the other 17 who got in, and you know, tragic. He died that year in October of 2006. He got in posthumously. Am I saying that word right? You are in 2022, so not that long ago. So he deserved it, but to take that kind of loss with and Bob said it, of course, so much better than me. And I'll try to find the video to put out there with positivity and just saying like, I'll you know I'll go on and and celebrate those who'd made it.

Patti 50:27
His initial response from in that story was not I didn't make. He's like, wait a minute, how many people got in? 17 people got in. We're celebrating that.

Pottymouth 50:35
Yep,

Patti 50:36
that was huge. That was huge.

Pottymouth 50:38
So like to put that in perspective, like when you have your own little life disappointments like that, because because everybody expected Buck to get in. Like Bob was talking about the intense part. It was his job first of all to tell him that he didn't get in. But there was this huge party already set up of people there to celebrate it, and he had to also like break the news to them. He

Patti 51:00
he referred to Bucks remarks as like one of the greatest concession speakers of all time, and that's what the situation was. People are there ready to celebrate something, and then they're told, "Nope, not happening. All right, that was such a highlight. I'm so so. If you know, if you remember when we first interviewed Bob, we said, "Oh, we need to go out there and have Bob show us around, and that's what blew in blew up into this giant two 500 mile epic baseball road trip was so we could get to Kansas City and see some baseball on the way there and on the way back. So he is the reason for this incredible thing and so worth it.

Pottymouth 51:32
So amazing

Patti 51:32
every minute. I'm going to take one moment to talk about somebody who's not involved in this road trip at all in any way, and that is JJ Blane, who was my Miami boyfriend in in 2023, who now plays with Cincinnati. He hit for the cycle Saturday. He did it in his first four at bats versus Arizona, which is pretty exciting. And it's especially good for him because he struck out three times the night before. He came into that game only hitting 217, so he really needed this. And what he said was, "Things haven't been going that well for me as late, so I'm just trying to persevere.

Pottymouth 52:09
Just like Buck O'Neil.

Patti 52:10
Just like Buck O'Neil. It was the 11th cycle in Cincinnati franchise history. The last time was Ellie De La Cruz in 2023 at that same game. Ellie had four hits, but was a triple short. And if he had got that triple, it would have been the first twin cycle in MLB history. So it was a very near miss, but very exciting. So I love a cycle. I just think cycles are so freaking cool. So yeah. So that's my story.

Pottymouth 52:35
Oh, that's amazing. All right. In this very long episode, I'm gonna just cross train briefly with FIFA. I know a long time ago I took this like soccer football detour and promised that it would be short, but I feel like I have to tie a little bit of a bow on this because if you'll recall, after the semifinal between Argentina and England, Argentinian players had a big ass banner that said Las Malvinas son Argentina's, which means the Malvina Islands are Argentinian. You know, English folks call them the Falklands. There was a war over it. Hundreds of people died horribly in this war over this territory that's off the coast, essentially of Argentina. Well, FIFA has come down with a fine on this. Argentina has been fined $310,000 for this sign. Even worse, though, I think is their next home match, 50% closure. So 50% of the stadium needs to be closed at their next home match. And then I don't understand this next phrase. Maybe you can go to the athletic article and see if you understand it better, but the second match apparently at home is partial closure, whatever that means. So the the reasoning is even more obscene. What FIFA has given it says, "quote Using a sports event for demonstrations of a non-sporting nature. Okay, discrimination and racist abuse, and order and security at matches. So this is absolutely the opposite. This is anti-colonial message, is what it is. And and saying that they're being discriminatory and racist in any way just doesn't make any fucking sense.

Patti 54:18
Can you clarify for me who was holding that sign.

Pottymouth 54:21
Players from the Argentines were so it wasn't black players. Okay, it wasn't black players. It wasn't black players, and so and this is getting very murky because at the same time, a bunch of Argentinian players have been fined related to a scuffle, kerfuffle, whatever you want to call it, after the final game with Spain, in which I am critical of Argentina because they played like shit, they played dirty, and then after the game there was a physical scuffle, and there's no place in that. So a bunch of those players got fined. Look at the article for that. But I definitely, you know, take offense to the fining. Of Argentina, for this for this sign. Wow, that that extensive, that extensive. Yeah,

Patti 55:06
yeah, no, that's that seems pretty harsh for just expressing national pride. Basically, that's all it was national pride.

Wow. All right. Okay, just to wind this up, we have this fantasy league with crazy rules, and I gotta say, people have been hanging out mostly in the same spot. Like one through five are the same as they've been. Trying to tap rooms, Bono's boyfriends, Karen's crew, All Star Cobalt 112, like an awesome team. the The change from the last week was McLean being pitching machine took over sixth, pushing Sonny Slammers down to seven, and then you and I in the basement with the tequila.

Pottymouth 55:45
Actually, it's gonna be with bourbon in the very near future, isn't it?

Patti 55:49
It really is. So tomorrow we head to St. Louis to see two games where the Cardinals are hosting the Orioles. I'm very excited about that, and then we go to to Louisville where we're gonna maybe have a little bourbon. We're gonna go to the Louisville Slugger Museum, hang out, do some things, and then start heading home. Wow, that's so only two more baseball games on this gigantic epic road trip.

Very very weird. But folks, watch that first game with the St. Louis because we we actually have good tickets. I'm wondering if we're like in in view. Yeah,

Patti 56:23
we're seventh row behind the plate, so you're probably going to see our D's.

Pottymouth 56:26
Yeah, and every other game that we've been to, except for the women's league, which was also awesome, we've been up in the 400 s. So this is our first big splurge.

Patti 56:34
Yeah, for

Pottymouth 56:35

And if you want to find us, otherwise you can find us on all the social media stuff, or pretty much a bunch of it, right? Blue Sky and Twitter, our No Crying and B Ball, no NCIB podcast. Fuck you know I can't believe I keep messing this up. NCIB podcast Twitter and Blue Sky no crying in V ball Facebook and Instagram find us on Patreon. It's the most secure way to do it, and it's only $1 a month, people. And it's I mean it's not funding our road trip by far, but it is funding our production, like our our getting this podcast out every month, and our remote recording things. So it's it is essential for keeping our podcast going.

And we so so appreciate you, and we're enjoying the interactions that we're having with our Patreon friends, with our daily diaries. So hey, my friends, go see some live baseball. We're sure having a good time doing that. Fight the man. It's the right thing to do. Send your gay balls to Meredith. And until next week, say good night, Potty Mouth.

Pottymouth 58:28
Good night, Potty Mouth. I'm sitting on phyllis. You're stacked on boxcar children. This is what can go wrong.
