Lab Notes Walks | What Made Josh Quit His Job and Bet Everything on a Creative Career?

What does it actually take to leave your job and bet on yourself as a creator?

In this first episode of Creators Lab Walks, Sam Parker — musician, mentor, and founder of Creators Lab — sits down with one of his students for a raw, unfiltered conversation recorded on the move. They talk music production, creative confidence, record labels, mental health, the gym, and what nobody tells you about building a career in the creator economy.

No polished studio. No scripts. Just two people figuring it out together and talking about it honestly.

Topics covered:

Music production for beginners · Building a creative career without a mentor · How record labels really work · Music industry myths · Going from full-time job to full-time creator · Mental health and creativity · Logic Pro · Building daily structure as a self-employed creator · The creator economy · 1:1 mentorship vs online courses · Taking risks in your creative career · Justin Bieber, Apple, and why the harder you work isn't always the point
