The Boston Celtics begin their preseason on Thursday night in Cleveland against the Cavaliers. Instead of previewing a preseason game, Host Nick Cattles has plenty of questions and thoughts on how Joe Mazzulla might handle the next couple of weeks.
How much will Jayson Tatum play? How about Paul George, Mitchell Robinson, Derrick White, and Payton Pritchard? How much is too much? Cattles looks back to the 2024 preseason while trying to map out a “Tatum Plan.”
Meanwhile, the Celtics are stocked with young wings that all need some time. How will the minutes be split between Hugo Gonzalez, Baylor Scheierman, Jordan Walsh, and Ron Harper Jr? Will Mazzulla tip his hand on who, if any of those guys, will start? One wing that likely will have issues getting on the floor is rookie Dillon Mitchell, but the same might not be the case for the Celtics first round pick back in June, Chris Cenac.
Finally, is there an opportunity for Devin Carter to make this roster out of the preseason? That idea might not be too far-fetched. Let’s get into it all with “Cattles On Causeway!”
