ABOUT THIS EPISODE
On this edition of Your News Talk America, anchor Jake Smith leads coverage of an alleged plot targeting the UFC event attended by President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and members of Congress at the White House. Federal authorities arrested five suspects and identified more than twenty additional plotters tied to an anti-government ideology. National security analysts weigh in on whether the cell had international connections, the growing threat of drone-based attacks, and the debate over Secret Service versus military protection for the President.
The program also examines the proposed U.S.–Iran memorandum of understanding ahead of its planned signing, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and the resulting drop in oil and gas prices. Panelists scrutinize the deal's "best efforts" language, the future of Iran's nuclear program and enriched uranium, and Israel's continued operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon that could complicate the agreement.
Additional segments cover former DNI Tulsi Gabbard's declassification of U.S.-funded biological research labs operating in dozens of countries, the new Federal Reserve under chair Kevin Warsh and the latest interest-rate decision, federal waste, fraud, and abuse, and takeaways from the G7. A health segment also looks at Parkinson's disease treatment and rehabilitation.
