Speaker 1: Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn go face-to-face. Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton go face-to-face. We get all the information on the John Cena classic from the man himself, a new Intercontinental Champion, and so much more. This is the Raw Recap on WWE Now, live from the Barclays Center, a WWE and Fanatics original production.
00:00:32
Speaker 2: Welcome. Here we are. It is indeed the Raw Recap. We are live.
00:00:38
Speaker 1: Sam Roberts, Megan Morant, coming to you from a room that they took out of an A24 movie that will leave you feeling miserable about life. However, miserable is not.
00:00:49
Speaker 3: I kind of like the aesthetic in here.
00:00:50
Speaker 2: You would.
00:00:51
Speaker 3: It's funky, you know?
00:00:52
Speaker 2: I know because it mentions your outfit.
00:00:53
Speaker 3: I planned it.
00:00:54
Speaker 2: Yeah, you did.
00:00:54
Speaker 3: I said, can you please send me a picture of the set? Send me a picture of the room that we're going to be in. I'll plan accordingly.
00:01:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, I want to.
00:01:00
Speaker 3: And I dressed for the occasion. Thank you for putting the same amount of thought and effort.
00:01:05
Speaker 2: Into your outfit today. They didn't send me a picture of the room.
00:01:07
Speaker 1: I didn't realize that I had to match the pomegranates on the wall.
00:01:11
Speaker 2: But we live and we learn, don't we? And we are privileged to be here.
00:01:17
Speaker 1: At the Barclays Center, just watching an absolute banger of an episode of Monday Night Raw go down.
00:01:23
Speaker 2: By the way, we're going to have Ethan Page on the show.
00:01:26
Speaker 3: New champ.
00:01:26
Speaker 1: Right after winning the Intercontinental Championship from Chad Gable, which I don't think a lot of people saw coming.
00:01:33
Speaker 2: No, I did not.
00:01:33
Speaker 1: It's a match that he's been asking for and asking for. Chad Gable has not been giving it to him. Chad Gable telling him he doesn't deserve it.
00:01:40
Speaker 2: And you know what?
00:01:42
Speaker 1: Maybe just maybe Chad Gable was mistaken. about who is deserving. Maybe it shouldn't be the champion that is deciding who is deserving and who is not deserving of being a challenger.
00:01:54
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, the champion could certainly have some bias in that, right?
00:01:58
Speaker 4: Yeah, I think so.
00:01:58
Speaker 3: Who they want to defend their title against and who they don't want to defend their title against. But with all the work that Chad Gable has been doing, I mean, we sit here every single week and talk about Chad Gable's matches and how jaw-dropping they've been. And so to see him lose the title tonight to Ethan Page, I was shocked.
00:02:15
Speaker 2: Yes. Completely shocked.
00:02:17
Speaker 1: And I think a lot of people were, and we'll talk about that match with Ethan Page in a little bit. But that sort of idea of people being deserving of facing champions is something that has been on the mind of Sami Zayn week after week, whether he's talking to Javon Evans or Trick Williams or, once again this week, Roman Reigns. It's also something that's been on the mind of Roman Reigns ever since he won that title at WrestleMania. But I think before we get into... Roman Reigns, and Sami Zayn. I think we should maybe begin where we ended.
00:02:52
Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
00:02:52
Speaker 1: Sure.
00:02:53
Speaker 2: Main event of Raw. Solo, Sokoa, Pew Pew.
00:02:59
Speaker 3: Bow. Pew Pew.
00:03:00
Speaker 2: Bow.
00:03:01
Speaker 3: Can't forget the bow.
00:03:02
Speaker 2: No, you can't.
00:03:02
Speaker 1: Versus Royce Keyes and, of course, of the 9-4-6. And Solo comes out and he does get that hero's welcome in Brooklyn.
00:03:10
Speaker 3: Of course he does.
00:03:11
Speaker 2: No shock there.
00:03:12
Speaker 3: And Solo comes out. Solo Dolo.
00:03:15
Speaker 2: Solo Dolo.
00:03:16
Speaker 3: No Usos. No one around him. Just Solo.
00:03:19
Speaker 2: And it just struck me.
00:03:20
Speaker 1: Now, do you think that he was wearing the green and black fight shorts to match his Matrix?
00:03:25
Speaker 3: I hope so. Yeah, because he didn't wear the Matrix shirt, which we both have, by the way.
00:03:29
Speaker 2: Of course we do. Of course we do.
00:03:30
Speaker 3: It's great merch. We both have that. But I think the green was a nice touch.
00:03:35
Speaker 1: Well, unfortunately, somebody that wasn't worried about a nice touch was, of course, Royce Keys, who came out with Jada Parker. coming through the crowd, surrounded by NYPD, dogs barking on the PA throughout the Barclays Center.
00:03:51
Speaker 3: This is the first time we've seen the entrance like that. And I was sort of taking note of who Royce Keys was entering with, right? Like we've seen the 9-4-6 grow in strength and grow in numbers from week to week. And I thought it was interesting that Royce Keys arrived through the crowd, dogs barking, police sirens blaring throughout the Barclays Center. And Jada Park was there. And she looked like.
00:04:15
Speaker 2: Trouble?
00:04:15
Speaker 3: She looked like someone I don't want to mess with.
00:04:17
Speaker 1: Trouble with a capital T. I think that that would be the case. But you are right. So I was super curious about how this was going to go down. Because last week on Raw, we saw, for the first time, the 946 was backpedaling.
00:04:33
Speaker 2: The 946 on the retreat.
00:04:35
Speaker 1: They've had this degree of control over the situations that they've been in From the very beginning, from, you know, I mean, showing up, disrupting main events, lighting cars on fire, running over superstars. It's just these moves that nobody sees coming. But I think that the longer the nine, four, six days around, the more they at least feel like they should be predictable in the sense that you at least to a degree are get to know who it is that you're dealing with.
00:05:09
Speaker 4: Sure.
00:05:10
Speaker 3: We've seen this play out. We know how the 9-4-6 responds. We should be able to learn from that. But I also just think the 9-4-6 operates entirely different. And you could see that right off the bat from the entrance because it's not like Royce Keyes is in the back in the locker room. He's not in the locker room.
00:05:27
Speaker 2: No.
00:05:28
Speaker 3: These guys do their business elsewhere, and then they arrive to Monday Night Raw to take care of everything.
00:05:35
Speaker 1: There's not even cool music playing when Royce Keyes shows up. It's just the.
00:05:41
Speaker 2: Sounds of an area that you know you should not be in. You know what it sounds like?
00:05:45
Speaker 1: When Royce Keyes walked into the Barclays Center, it sounded like you had made a wrong turn. Yes. It sounded like this is a spot that I need to, my fight or flight was kicking in.
00:05:55
Speaker 2: And for me, I was thinking, you know, Delta. I was going flight. Yeah, I'm out of here.
00:06:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, that wasn't me. But Solo, Solo was clenching those fists. Solo was ready to go. And we saw, and you know, also, I don't know that we've seen a one-on-one match that has felt like a match with a member of the 9-4-6.
00:06:16
Speaker 2: No, not yet.
00:06:18
Speaker 3: I don't think we have.
00:06:19
Speaker 2: We've really only seen the one six man. Yes.
00:06:22
Speaker 1: And then this singles match. And for a while, it felt like we were getting... Royce Keyes versus Solo Sokoa.
00:06:28
Speaker 2: It did.
00:06:29
Speaker 3: And that was until the 9-4-6 had other plans in mind, which they always do.
00:06:33
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, that's what I mean, right? That moment couldn't have shocked anybody.
00:06:39
Speaker 1: When Carmelo Hayes and Lucian Price and Bronco Nima all show up at ringside, the idea, like you said, like you're watching who's coming to the ring with Royce Keyes. I would have to guess, Megan, at no point did you go, The others must.
00:06:57
Speaker 2: Have stayed at home.
00:06:57
Speaker 3: Well, like I said, I guess they had the night off.
00:06:59
Speaker 2: They didn't make the trip.
00:07:00
Speaker 1: No.
00:07:01
Speaker 2: They're not in Brooklyn tonight.
00:07:02
Speaker 3: They had the day off. Good for them.
00:07:04
Speaker 2: I don't think at any point.
00:07:05
Speaker 3: Kick the feet up a little bit. No, they're up to something.
00:07:07
Speaker 2: Right, like when will they show their faces?
00:07:10
Speaker 1: And they chose when, I mean, they showed up at the end of the match, but that's because they made it the end of the match.
00:07:17
Speaker 2: Now, for a minute, I thought they.
00:07:18
Speaker 1: Were just going to exist as like a sort of intimidation factor because like Mello jumps up on the apron. And Solo goes over and takes a swing at him. And, you know, Melo ducks away. So I go, oh, okay, we've seen this before in pro wrestling. This is the moment where Solo is distracted. Royce Keyes is able to take advantage. I understand this strategy. But no, Lucian just jumps in the ring and forearms Solo Sakoa's head off.
00:07:42
Speaker 2: And it's just on. Ring, ring, ring, ring, ring. It's over.
00:07:45
Speaker 3: Throw the whole thing out.
00:07:47
Speaker 2: Yeah. And I mean, what other choice did they have? But also, I mean, I don't know.
00:07:51
Speaker 1: I don't know what Adam Pierce could have thought was going to happen. Like there was nothing in place. You just said like, hey, I'm going to take you guys on your word. It's going to be one on one, right?
00:08:00
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:08:00
Speaker 3: Given everything that the 946 has done.
00:08:03
Speaker 2: What have you ever worked individually?
00:08:05
Speaker 1: The whole point about the 946 is that they don't get split up. They don't get separated. They exist as a unit.
00:08:11
Speaker 3: And also there's real danger, right? Think of the past actions of the 9-4-6.
00:08:15
Speaker 2: Crimes.
00:08:16
Speaker 4: Yes.
00:08:16
Speaker 2: Crimes.
00:08:18
Speaker 3: Criminal.
00:08:18
Speaker 2: Federal crimes, like felonies.
00:08:20
Speaker 3: Lighting a car on fire. Kidnapping. Felony.
00:08:23
Speaker 2: They kidnapped. Solo.
00:08:26
Speaker 3: And there he is in the ring.
00:08:27
Speaker 2: And he's in the ring. They're in the ring. They're like, we're going to settle this in there. I'll tell you that.
00:08:30
Speaker 1: I mean, if I escaped the kidnapping, I would not be settling. But regardless, you know, these men are tougher.
00:08:35
Speaker 2: Than I am, obviously. Yes.
00:08:37
Speaker 3: I mean, that's.
00:08:37
Speaker 2: But you're. But you're right. I mean, it is.
00:08:42
Speaker 1: There's an air of danger. And Solo is getting beat down. And people are waiting for it, and they're chanting it. And they're chanting, OTC, OTC, OTC. And I get it. Everybody wants to see the OTC. Everybody knows the OTC is going to save the day. Two weeks ago, when the 946 showed up, Roman Reigns— came to the ring to aid the bloodline, and it completely changed the way everything was moving. Except Monday Night Raw started with Sami Zayn making it so clear. Do not underestimate me. I should be your singular hero.
00:09:27
Speaker 2: Focus.
00:09:28
Speaker 3: I should have your full undivided attention right now.
00:09:32
Speaker 2: And he laid out a compelling case.
00:09:34
Speaker 3: Of course he did.
00:09:34
Speaker 2: And by the way, you know, I'm a big Roman Reigns fan.
00:09:38
Speaker 3: Yes, I am aware.
00:09:40
Speaker 2: You are? Yeah. Okay.
00:09:42
Speaker 3: I think a lot of people refer to it as glazing.
00:09:44
Speaker 2: No, I don't know. Glazing.
00:09:46
Speaker 3: A lot of people.
00:09:47
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:09:47
Speaker 3: A lot of people say glazing.
00:09:49
Speaker 2: They're saying no.
00:09:50
Speaker 3: There's a lot of glazing.
00:09:52
Speaker 2: D1 glazer? No, I don't think so. I don't think so. Well, maybe.
00:09:58
Speaker 1: But the point is that Sami Zayn's given Roman Reigns every reason to kind of consider him correct.
00:10:06
Speaker 2: Two weeks ago, Roman said, with your track record.
00:10:11
Speaker 3: Might not even be the champion. Guess what Sami's done?
00:10:13
Speaker 2: He's, by the way, since Roman said that, has defended the title twice. Yes.
00:10:19
Speaker 1: Has defended the title twice, both times successfully, both times against superstars that are earmarked as the future of this company.
00:10:28
Speaker 3: How many times has Roman defended it since he said it?
00:10:30
Speaker 1: That's neither here nor there. And Sami Zayn said it himself, that that's not what it's about. So don't be bringing that up. But he said, Roman, you've earned it. You don't have to be here. But regardless, when you weren't here, I was defending the title successfully. I'm here when you said, I don't know if you'll even be.
00:10:49
Speaker 2: Well, I am here.
00:10:50
Speaker 3: Guess what? Here.
00:10:51
Speaker 2: And before we get any further into that promo, because I.
00:10:54
Speaker 3: Think we got to spend a lot of time on that.
00:10:57
Speaker 2: OK, OK, good, good, good.
00:10:59
Speaker 1: I'm sitting there as we're all I'm standing on the floor of the Barclays Center and OTC is being chanted.
00:11:06
Speaker 2: And on one side of my brain, I'm going like, yeah, I'm here.
00:11:09
Speaker 3: I would love for him to come out. But the reality of the situation is.
00:11:12
Speaker 2: He shouldn't ring his bell.
00:11:13
Speaker 3: Probably gone.
00:11:14
Speaker 2: He's probably gone, and he shouldn't.
00:11:16
Speaker 3: No, because he has Crown Jewel just days away.
00:11:18
Speaker 2: Yes, he's got a match with Sami Zayn this weekend. But guess what?
00:11:24
Speaker 1: The music hits. Roman Reigns comes out with the Usos. It stops, and I mean there is something. When Roman Reigns and the Usos show up, it does stop. change the course of everything happening.
00:11:37
Speaker 3: It has to. I mean, it's Roman Reigns we're talking about with his cousins by his side. You're immediately thinking about everything that they did to change the entire business, right? You're thinking at 1,316 days, you're thinking about the bloodline, everything, no matter how dominant the 9-4-6 is right now and how many crimes they're committing.
00:11:57
Speaker 2: Yeah, felonies. Everything. Yes, felonies.
00:12:00
Speaker 3: Everything changes when the bloodline enters the chat.
00:12:04
Speaker 1: Yes, 100% right. You don't even have to go back that far. You go back two weeks ago.
00:12:10
Speaker 2: They sent the 9-4-6 packing. And they did it again. Or so we thought.
00:12:15
Speaker 1: They get in the ring and once again, everybody's spread out. And we get to a situation where we've got Royce Keyes and Roman Reigns going at it.
00:12:24
Speaker 3: Eye to eye.
00:12:25
Speaker 1: And Roman Reigns has Royce Keyes exactly where he wants him.
00:12:30
Speaker 2: As the Usos.
00:12:31
Speaker 1: and Lucian and Bronco are outside, as Mello is outside, as Solo is out, after having, by the way, wrestled an entire match against Royce Keyes, a hooded figure shows up. And as Roman is going for that spear or Superman punch, whatever he was going for, that hooded figure throws a chair at Roman Reigns, knocks him down. And now that hooded figure is going after Roman Reigns.
00:12:54
Speaker 2: And it even looked.
00:12:55
Speaker 1: Like, as Royce Keyes was crouched in the corner, that Royce Keyes may not have seen that one coming Royce Keys looked like, who is this? Am I accepting your help? Are you part of what we're doing here? And the crowd was confused. The crowd did not know who was under that mask.
00:13:14
Speaker 3: It's almost like the same way when Jada Parker showed up in the 9-4-6. We didn't know, oh, is she helping the 9-4-6? It was that old Fielder method.
00:13:25
Speaker 2: Okay, yes. Yes, that's exactly right. But also... In that situation, the 9-4-6 had planned that.
00:13:33
Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
00:13:34
Speaker 2: Do you think they planned this one?
00:13:36
Speaker 1: Or is this really somebody taking the opportunity for themselves and the 9-4-6 going like, cool?
00:13:43
Speaker 3: Right now, just the way the 9-4-6 is operating, I have to think that Royce Keyes was in the know and I have to think it was planned. But what you pointed out is not wrong. Royce Keyes didn't look like he was in the know on it.
00:13:55
Speaker 2: Right.
00:13:55
Speaker 3: I mean, who's to say?
00:13:56
Speaker 2: It looked like his life had flashed before his eyes.
00:13:58
Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
00:13:59
Speaker 1: Because this man, after getting Roman Reigns to the ground, before he pulls his hood off, puts his chains out.
00:14:12
Speaker 2: And I went, wait a minute.
00:14:13
Speaker 1: And he pulls that hood up and it's Mike Santana in from NXT. This is a former TNA world champion. This is a guy who has been tearing it up in NXT. But this is a guy who, who has always been himself. By the way, this is a guy who, what was it last week on NXT got taken out in handcuffs, arrested.
00:14:33
Speaker 2: Like this is a guy who has lived this life. And I don't know.
00:14:37
Speaker 1: I mean, if, if, if you want to go deep and get into the NXT of it all, Dion Lennox in this rivalry with Mike Santana brought up that ugly side of Mike Santana brought up all that stuff of where Mike Santana comes from.
00:14:53
Speaker 2: And, and, All of a sudden, that gets awakened.
00:15:00
Speaker 1: And I don't know, maybe it's not just for a story going on in NXT. Maybe it is something. There's kind of lying dormant inside of Santana. Cruz Montana. Cruz Montana.
00:15:14
Speaker 2: And- But maybe it was something that was lying dormant inside Cruz, Montana.
00:15:18
Speaker 3: I had Mike Santana written in my notebook, too.
00:15:20
Speaker 2: So, listen.
00:15:22
Speaker 3: I had it written and underlined with an exclamation point.
00:15:25
Speaker 2: Right. But it was Cruz, Montana. That's right. That's who it was.
00:15:28
Speaker 1: So, maybe there is something in kind of Dion Lennox awakening that sort of earlier side of Cruz, Montana. That thing from... where he came from, because the same thing happened to Royce Keys. When we first met Royce Keys, he was talking about the world that he had escaped. He was talking about kind of getting out of this life. And it was a hopeful story that we were all getting behind. And then something happened along the way. Something happened this year that kind of brought that side that never really went away, but maybe was laying dormant back into Royce Keys. And Royce Keys started identifying himself with where he came from. I think you could say the same thing based on what we saw on NXT leading into tonight's Monday Night Raw, that Cruz Montana defined himself by getting out of this thing. And now here's Cruz, you know, like straight up going, no, I am this guy. And by the way, dude, when you talk about showing up on the main roster, when you talk about coming in to the WWE from NXT, It is hard to imagine a bigger kind of shockwave sent through the main roster of going, you know what the first thing I did on Monday Night Raw was?
00:16:51
Speaker 2: I beat Roman Reigns up. I beat him down.
00:16:55
Speaker 1: I held his face up by his hair, put it right into the camera and said, is this your guy? I handcuffed his cousin, Jimmy Uso to the corner. I, I, I had Roman Reigns pinned down and made him watch as we power bombed his cousin Jey Uso through a table.
00:17:15
Speaker 3: We know how important family is to Roman Reigns. And I held his hair back and made him watch us decimate them.
00:17:21
Speaker 1: And that's Cruz Montana's first hello on the main roster.
00:17:27
Speaker 3: Welcome to Roth. This is what I'm capable of.
00:17:30
Speaker 2: That is insane.
00:17:31
Speaker 1: And somehow, and it's like, that's what's so incredible about about the 9-4-6 is that like, you know, it starts with Royce Keyes, but as far as the main roster goes, as far as Monday Night Raw goes, we hadn't seen Lucian Price and Bronco Nima before this.
00:17:51
Speaker 2: No. We hadn't seen a lot of Jada Parker before this.
00:17:54
Speaker 3: We have never seen this side of Carmelo Hayes.
00:17:57
Speaker 1: Carmelo Hayes was a completely different individual over on SmackDown.
00:18:00
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:18:01
Speaker 1: And here's Cruz Montana now showing up, and it's like you're taking people. that have nothing to lose and everything to fight for. And you're putting them in a situation where they can change their lives. And I mean, that says it all. And that's why I think they've become so dominant. But like, once again, the 9-4-6 gets pushed back ever so slightly and immediately goes back to the drawing board and figures out how to change Everything.
00:18:36
Speaker 3: There's that saying again, back to the drawing board.
00:18:39
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:18:39
Speaker 3: I guess it's back to the drawing board.
00:18:41
Speaker 2: For the 946.
00:18:42
Speaker 3: It's been going pretty well for them, right?
00:18:44
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a wild, wild thing.
00:18:47
Speaker 1: And I've got to tell you, there's some very exciting things going on. For instance, have you seen... The 2026 WWE.
00:18:57
Speaker 2: Holiday Gift Guide. Yes, it's here.
00:19:00
Speaker 1: You can shop gifts for all the superstars in your life at WWE Shop and Fanatics.
00:19:06
Speaker 2: How about Dan Housen?
00:19:07
Speaker 1: Very nice. Very naughty, right? You never know where Dan Housen will pop up to spread a holiday cheer with the Holiday Housen Plus.
00:19:19
Speaker 2: Available now at WWE Shop and Fanatics. Look at that. Look at that. You're going to have to get that. I know I am.
00:19:27
Speaker 3: You have to get a couple of those.
00:19:29
Speaker 2: I know. It's the only way to keep these kids in line.
00:19:31
Speaker 1: It's like the realistic promise of like, I mean, because it's one thing to go like, oh, Santa's always watching. It's another thing to go, not only is Santa watching, but you might be cursed.
00:19:41
Speaker 3: You know? Yeah, a little threat, right?
00:19:45
Speaker 1: I i think that that's okay threat yeah so go check it out dan housing holiday gift guide right now at wwe shop because by the way at the very end oh.
00:19:55
Speaker 3: This was the best part because this ties it all back.
00:19:58
Speaker 1: Together roman reigns is down jay uso is through a table jimmy uso is handcuffed solo is down and here comes.
00:20:07
Speaker 3: And the 946 starts to Make their way out.
00:20:10
Speaker 2: They leave. And we go, well, that was a raw. Let's go talk about it.
00:20:14
Speaker 3: That's usually what we say.
00:20:17
Speaker 2: That's what we say. All the time. Yes. But that wasn't a raw. There was one more thing yet to happen.
00:20:24
Speaker 1: Sami Zayn shows up and explains what that attention to detail is all about.
00:20:33
Speaker 2: Explains what singular focus is all about.
00:20:37
Speaker 1: Sami Zayn, without saying anything, while he let his foot do the talking, explained to Roman Reigns exactly what he was talking about and how he felt about what Roman Reigns had done by pulling up. And after Roman Reigns had just not only taken a beating, but like really like, gone through it emotionally and spiritually.
00:20:59
Speaker 3: Yeah, watching his family get taken down?
00:21:01
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:21:02
Speaker 1: And realizing like, bro, Roman Reigns in 2026 is not in the WWE to end Monday Night Raw watching his family getting beaten down or getting beaten down himself.
00:21:13
Speaker 2: How do his matches end?
00:21:16
Speaker 3: Superman punch and then spear.
00:21:18
Speaker 1: That's how his match is. That's what Roman Reigns is here to do. And so for him to end Raw this way and thinking like, I mean... This is a dark time for me. Only for Sami Zayn.
00:21:29
Speaker 2: To show up.
00:21:29
Speaker 3: The man that he calls the secondary champ.
00:21:32
Speaker 2: He did start Monday Night Raw by calling him the secondary champ.
00:21:35
Speaker 3: And he shows up at the end of Raw.
00:21:36
Speaker 1: And the secondary champ shows up and Haluva kicks the truth into Roman Reigns. That Haluva kick, he might as well have written, I told you so on the bottom of his boot. That, I think, is what that Haluva kick was all about.
00:21:51
Speaker 3: Even as big of a Roman Reigns guy as you are.
00:21:54
Speaker 4: Yes.
00:21:54
Speaker 3: Given the promo, which we're going to talk about, between Sammy and Roman tonight, which is just next level.
00:22:00
Speaker 4: Yes.
00:22:00
Speaker 3: Was there part of you when Raw ended and Sammy connected that bottom of his foot with Roman's face that went, good for Sammy?
00:22:08
Speaker 2: Good for Sammy? I don't think I would go that far.
00:22:12
Speaker 1: But the thing about Sammy is that the things that he's saying are not wrong.
00:22:19
Speaker 3: Not at all.
00:22:20
Speaker 2: He hasn't.
00:22:21
Speaker 1: I think that, you know, a certain degree of hubris has really sat in. I think it's a little uncouth to demand to receive your flowers when you're ready to smell them as opposed to wait and receive them.
00:22:40
Speaker 2: You know, it doesn't make you a great person. Yeah, I said it. I said Sami Zayn's a little uncouth, okay? You know what I mean?
00:22:46
Speaker 1: And if he hears it, he hears it. That's where I'm coming from. But the things that he's saying aren't incorrect.
00:22:54
Speaker 3: They're not incorrect at all.
00:22:55
Speaker 2: Let's talk about this promo, right? All right.
00:22:57
Speaker 1: So Roman Reigns shows up to start the show. And he talks about Sami Zayn. And before Sami Zayn's even out there, of course, like you just said, he calls him the secondary champion. Then he refers to the haters in the 9-4-6. which Roman and I have that in common. We have very little tolerance for haters. I've pointed that out about you a couple of times.
00:23:24
Speaker 3: Not a hater at all. Well, at all is strong.
00:23:28
Speaker 1: But Sami then comes out, ready to talk to Roman Reigns, champion to champion, but says one of his main problems is this idea that Roman Reigns is saying, I'm dealing with Sami Zayn and I'm dealing with the 9-4-6. And Sami Zayn says, no, you're not.
00:23:48
Speaker 2: You're dealing with the WWE champion. That's me.
00:23:52
Speaker 1: I'm not going to continue to be disrespected. And everybody else that Roman Reigns has faced during this title reign, he's given singular focus to.
00:24:06
Speaker 2: Everyone. Undivided attention.
00:24:08
Speaker 3: CM Punk. You go back to Seth Rollins.
00:24:10
Speaker 4: Yes.
00:24:11
Speaker 3: LA Knight.
00:24:12
Speaker 2: Yes. All of them. It's like there are other things going.
00:24:15
Speaker 3: Yes.
00:24:15
Speaker 2: Yes.
00:24:16
Speaker 1: There are other things going on, but this is my singular focus right now.
00:24:19
Speaker 2: It's too important.
00:24:21
Speaker 1: I think, look, a thing happens in life when you start in a certain place and you begin to advance.
00:24:29
Speaker 3: It's like you come in as the intern, right?
00:24:31
Speaker 2: I don't know anything about that.
00:24:33
Speaker 3: Well.
00:24:33
Speaker 2: But I wouldn't know. I couldn't speak to that. But I'm trying to erase that part.
00:24:41
Speaker 1: But the reason why I wouldn't want to acknowledge that Was because it may cloud.
00:24:48
Speaker 3: Everything that you've done.
00:24:50
Speaker 1: The opinion that people may have of modern, last professional broadcaster.
00:24:54
Speaker 3: Oh, the old intern?
00:24:56
Speaker 1: Right.
00:24:56
Speaker 2: You see what I'm saying?
00:24:57
Speaker 3: Oh, the old intern. We don't... Oh, the old honorary use.
00:25:01
Speaker 1: No, no, no, no.
00:25:02
Speaker 2: We love... Oh, you mean... With Sammy.
00:25:05
Speaker 3: With Sammy.
00:25:06
Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes.
00:25:06
Speaker 3: Oh, that guy who had that match with Johnny Knoxville at 38? You know what I mean?
00:25:10
Speaker 2: Yes.
00:25:11
Speaker 1: It starts to cloud what he's... Yes, and I think that Roman looks at Sammy the same way he looked at him when Sammy was begging to be in the bloodline. Because it wasn't just he was in the bloodline. It wasn't just Roman led him in the bloodline. He was begging to be a part of it.
00:25:24
Speaker 3: And it started pretty silly, if we're being honest, right?
00:25:27
Speaker 2: Of course. He was kind of an errand boy.
00:25:30
Speaker 3: Yeah. In the beginning.
00:25:30
Speaker 2: Yes.
00:25:31
Speaker 3: He was a step below belt boy.
00:25:32
Speaker 2: I don't know if he was below belt boy. But he wasn't far.
00:25:37
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:25:37
Speaker 2: He wasn't far.
00:25:37
Speaker 3: It was like in the same realm.
00:25:39
Speaker 2: They were peers. They were colleagues.
00:25:40
Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
00:25:41
Speaker 2: But like I.
00:25:42
Speaker 3: Thought it was funny to to have him around.
00:25:44
Speaker 2: Right. Right.
00:25:45
Speaker 1: But I think that it grew into something that really was tremendous. And Sammy has continued to grow ever since. And I do think that that is something that a lot of people are not. That's the root of what Sammy perceives as disrespect.
00:25:59
Speaker 2: I think.
00:26:00
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:26:00
Speaker 3: But if you ask Roman his take on it, he believes that the person who got the most out of the bloodline. was in fact Sami Zayn. And a lot of people got a lot out of the bloodline. And it's hard to argue that Sami didn't get anything out of the bloodline. But the way Roman said it felt like he was taking a bit away from Sami Zayn.
00:26:20
Speaker 1: I think Sami Zayn probably, I mean, I think Roman Reigns probably felt a certain type of way. We talked about it last week here on the recap on The Now. I think that Roman probably felt a certain type of way when Sammy said the bloodline was never as popular before or after me. That my contributions to the bloodline are what made the bloodline what it was. And I think that Roman has every right to feel a type of way about that. Because when you invite somebody into your thing and you continue to grow, for that person to take all the credit for it It's like, whoa, look at what we were giving back to you. And you're going to get on the other side of this and take and not acknowledge what happened for you, not acknowledge the whole picture of what was going on.
00:27:13
Speaker 3: Like you brought a dish. You didn't bring the whole meal.
00:27:15
Speaker 2: That's exactly.
00:27:16
Speaker 3: You brought a side dish.
00:27:17
Speaker 2: Exactly right. And everybody loved it.
00:27:18
Speaker 3: It was a good appetizer.
00:27:19
Speaker 2: Everybody loved the mac and cheese.
00:27:21
Speaker 4: Yes.
00:27:22
Speaker 2: Did everybody go home talking about the mac and cheese? Yes. Yes. People loved it, right? They did.
00:27:26
Speaker 1: But can you imagine going to a dinner and it's like, That's we just had mac and cheese.
00:27:31
Speaker 2: Like this is crazy. That's it. Like I'm thirsty. Is there a dessert?
00:27:35
Speaker 3: Nothing else. No protein.
00:27:37
Speaker 2: Oh, this is, this is, I mean, if this is where we're starting, I can't wait for the main course.
00:27:41
Speaker 3: No, that's it.
00:27:42
Speaker 2: That's it.
00:27:43
Speaker 3: Just the mac and cheese.
00:27:44
Speaker 2: What about the protein? And we said, it's cheese, mac and cheese. Cheese has protein.
00:27:48
Speaker 3: I think people would go home talking about how the meal was lacking a little.
00:27:53
Speaker 2: They go like this. The mac and cheese was delicious. You can't call that a dinner.
00:27:57
Speaker 3: It's not a dinner.
00:27:59
Speaker 1: No?
00:27:59
Speaker 3: Not a dinner.
00:28:00
Speaker 2: It's a side.
00:28:01
Speaker 1: Right.
00:28:01
Speaker 3: A good side. A great side.
00:28:04
Speaker 1: Maybe I'll get up at like 1230 in the morning, still hungry, and put some in the microwave.
00:28:10
Speaker 2: Perfect. But not for the whole meal.
00:28:13
Speaker 4: No.
00:28:13
Speaker 3: We need an entree.
00:28:15
Speaker 1: And so Roman is saying, I took your mac and cheese and turned it into an entree. That's what we did at the bloodline. Roman said that Sammy would.
00:28:26
Speaker 2: Roman said Sammy wouldn't even be working in WWE. Yeah.
00:28:29
Speaker 3: That was, yeah. He said he definitely wouldn't be champion. He wouldn't be part of this company and he wouldn't be making millions, which when Roman went there and put it, put it into context that Sammy is making millions.
00:28:39
Speaker 2: All of a sudden the working class identity. Yeah.
00:28:42
Speaker 3: I felt like that put Sammy in a spot where I went, dang, look, look at where Sammy's at now.
00:28:49
Speaker 2: Right? Yeah. Yes.
00:28:51
Speaker 1: But I also think just because of the way people are going to people, When you point that out, somebody looks at you a little differently.
00:28:59
Speaker 2: Yes. Like, oh, I love Sami Zayn. Do I love him millions?
00:29:03
Speaker 1: Millions?
00:29:03
Speaker 2: A year?
00:29:04
Speaker 1: Okay, but now you, you know, expectations change, the whole thing. Complaints all of a sudden come from a different zip code, as it were.
00:29:14
Speaker 3: Wait, that guy right there, he's making millions?
00:29:16
Speaker 4: Right.
00:29:17
Speaker 2: I mean, he deserves it.
00:29:19
Speaker 3: Of course.
00:29:20
Speaker 1: I don't know why we're shouting out people's salaries, but that is what, I mean, that's what he did. That's where Roman decided to go.
00:29:26
Speaker 3: But there is part of you when you're watching Sammy and he complains where you go, well, poor Sammy's like the underdog. When Roman points out you're making millions and you're still complaining. Right. That that puts it all into context.
00:29:40
Speaker 1: Would Sammy not have a job in the WWE had it not been for the bloodline that feels far would Sammy still be WWE champion had it not been for the bloodline right now I don't know. It's impossible to say because he didn't win the WWE Championship on the heels of the bloodline.
00:29:57
Speaker 2: He won the WWE Championship three years after the bloodline was over.
00:30:03
Speaker 1: I think that it is unfair to attribute his success today entirely to the bloodline, but I also think it's unfair to attribute the bloodline's success entirely to Sami Zayn.
00:30:15
Speaker 3: Two things can be true, right?
00:30:17
Speaker 2: He said... Wow.
00:30:21
Speaker 1: He said that before, Roman said, before I found you, you were Johnny Knoxville's, and he said the B word.
00:30:26
Speaker 3: I didn't like, first of all, how he said, when I found you.
00:30:30
Speaker 2: That's how Roman contextualizes this stuff. When I found you. It's not the first time he's said that before about somebody.
00:30:38
Speaker 1: I mean... It.
00:30:41
Speaker 3: Felt like he was taking ownership of Sami Zayn in that moment. When I found you. Yeah.
00:30:47
Speaker 2: And I think Roman does....
00:30:50
Speaker 1: Take ownership of the success of the people around him. And I don't think that's the most positive trait in the world, but I do think that there is data to back up that the bloodline.
00:31:02
Speaker 2: Advanced people's careers.
00:31:04
Speaker 3: Without question.
00:31:05
Speaker 1: And that's something that Roman is not shy, has never been shy about wanting credit for, you know? And Sammy had a great retort and I'm glad he did. when Roman brought out the Johnny Knoxville thing, because Sammy's whole thing has been, look, what makes me me is that I can take something like the Johnny Knoxville thing and, and blow it sky high, turn it into something else completely different, make a negative, a positive, survive things people could never survive. And that's what Johnny Knoxville said. I mean, Sami Zayn said about Johnny Knoxville.
00:31:39
Speaker 3: Yes, that's right.
00:31:40
Speaker 2: You know?
00:31:40
Speaker 3: And about WrestleMania 38 and the match that they had. And now everyone remembers that match. And now people from years from now will talk about that match.
00:31:48
Speaker 2: 15 years, 20 years from now.
00:31:51
Speaker 1: And this was when it was like, okay, Sami's upset. When he said, Roman, you know who remembers your main event from WrestleMania 38?
00:32:00
Speaker 2: Nobody. Nobody. And I was like, whoa.
00:32:05
Speaker 3: What was it? Roman Brock part 12?
00:32:08
Speaker 1: No, I believe he referred to it as Roman versus Brock part six of 12, which is even worse than part 12 because you might remember the last one.
00:32:18
Speaker 3: Part six of 12. No, you're not remembering that.
00:32:20
Speaker 1: You can skip a few in the middle, you know? And I think that that's what Sammy was getting at. And the whole audience was like, whoa.
00:32:29
Speaker 2: Because there is something to look at.
00:32:32
Speaker 1: Roman Reigns has more WrestleMania main events than anybody in the history of this company. That is an accomplishment that nobody will ever be able to take away from him. But when you have that many main events, you can't point to the one always. There are some that are unbelievably special, but you can't always point to the one.
00:32:56
Speaker 2: And then he said the one. The one. That's right. The one. Good for you.
00:32:59
Speaker 3: One's got to go up when you say it. It was also crazy because when Sammy said this too, like Ross started early tonight. Like Ross started at six o'clock. And when Sammy said, what was it? Part six of 12. I go, oh, we're going there and it's early.
00:33:11
Speaker 4: And it's early.
00:33:12
Speaker 2: We're starting here.
00:33:14
Speaker 3: This is where it's happening.
00:33:15
Speaker 2: We're starting here. It's the evening. Barely.
00:33:20
Speaker 1: Then he goes, the most memorable thing that you ever did was get hit by a chair and I'm the one that swung it.
00:33:27
Speaker 2: And it was like, whoa.
00:33:29
Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, I do remember when Sammy hit Roman with that chair, though.
00:33:32
Speaker 2: I do remember. It was an incredible moment, but it's not.
00:33:34
Speaker 3: The Royal Rumble ended on an angle.
00:33:39
Speaker 2: I know.
00:33:39
Speaker 3: Ended on an angle.
00:33:41
Speaker 2: I know. I know. But Roman had a lot of moments in that era.
00:33:48
Speaker 1: And, like, at a point, you can credit WrestleMania 40, if you want to, to Cody and The Rock. You can credit WrestleMania 39 to the rise of Sami Zayn if you want. You can credit WrestleMania 38 to Stone Cold Steve Austin or Johnny Knoxville or whoever you want. But there is a commonality in all of these successes. And it's Roman Reigns, Roman Reigns, Roman Reigns. And that stuff doesn't happen by accident. It doesn't happen by coincidence. Sami hasn't breathed that air as often before. as Roman Reigns has. And, and, and as much as Sammy wanted that undivided attention, I think he got it when Roman turned around and said, yeah, you don't remember the WrestleMania 38 main event because that belt that you're wearing around your waist that you said is the end all be all in WWE was created by Because of the main event of WrestleMania 38. Because I went in there and was so utterly dominant that as the universal champion, I also beat the WWE champion Brock Lesnar. And then I held those two titles for so long, there was no choice but.
00:35:04
Speaker 2: To combine them.
00:35:05
Speaker 3: Make a new one.
00:35:06
Speaker 1: The fact is, when you look in that ring and you see Roman holding the World Heavyweight Championship, And you see Sami Zayn with the gold undisputed WWE championship around his waist. Both of those titles were created to respond to the utter dominance of Roman's reign as WWE champion during the bloodline.
00:35:31
Speaker 2: Both of them.
00:35:32
Speaker 1: The world heavyweight title because we need something that's going to be in play because nobody's beating Roman Reigns. And the undisputed WWE championship because there's no reason for Roman to walk around with two belts anymore because nobody's taking either one of them from him.
00:35:46
Speaker 2: That's why both of those titles are there.
00:35:48
Speaker 1: And you just, people, Sammy, whoever it is, they're going to want to take it away from Roman Reigns and you can't. You can put it on yourself. You can big yourself up. You can do whatever you want. But you just, I mean, numbers don't lie.
00:36:03
Speaker 2: You can check the scoreboard. Roman is that guy.
00:36:07
Speaker 1: And there's like, you can make excuses for a lot of them, but you can't do it for all of them.
00:36:13
Speaker 2: It's impossible.
00:36:14
Speaker 3: And Sammy's asking for his undivided attention in Romans as the only thing that you deserve from me is you're welcome. You're welcome.
00:36:24
Speaker 2: You're welcome. That's what you deserve.
00:36:25
Speaker 3: You're welcome.
00:36:26
Speaker 1: He said that Saturday is going to be Sammy's last day on the island of relevancy.
00:36:33
Speaker 2: And then he said he's a hoe.
00:36:34
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's... I kind of like my ears perked up. I was like, did he say what I think he just said?
00:36:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, he did. It's really.
00:36:41
Speaker 1: Ho?
00:36:42
Speaker 4: Ho.
00:36:43
Speaker 1: And not like Hacksaw Jim Duggan.
00:36:44
Speaker 2: No, no. I think he meant it a different kind of more like.
00:36:47
Speaker 3: He also called him a B word a couple of times. Yeah.
00:36:50
Speaker 2: Yeah. Look, he was, he was outwardly disrespectful.
00:36:53
Speaker 3: And then as Romans going on the style, I'm calling him a B word, calling him a ho. He's like real, like, I mean, you can feel the energy coming out of Romans mouth with every single word that he's saying. And he drops a Brooklyn. Acknowledge me!
00:37:09
Speaker 1: I love the new request for acknowledgement just as he's on a heater.
00:37:14
Speaker 2: Just when he gets on that heater going, Brooklyn! And you're like, yeah! What do you want? Anything. It's yours. People just start throwing their firstborn at him. Whatever you need, dude! No, that's fine. Just acknowledge me.
00:37:32
Speaker 3: Well, what's so crazy is like when Sammy went there and said the line about Brock Lesnar and said the line about WrestleMania 38 and started going on, like when he got heated, I said, how is Roman going to come back from this, right?
00:37:46
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:37:47
Speaker 3: But it is Roman Reigns.
00:37:48
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:37:49
Speaker 3: And while he's not doing it with the Superman punch and spear, his response to Sammy and talking about the belt that he created was, And calling him a hoe, getting heated and heated and hitting the Brooklyn acknowledge me? There's no question, right?
00:38:07
Speaker 2: I mean, it was unbelievable.
00:38:11
Speaker 1: I think we should go to, before we get to, we're going to get to the Intercontinental Champion.
00:38:18
Speaker 2: Ethan Page won the Intercontinental title.
00:38:20
Speaker 1: But before we get to Ethan Page, Topps, iconic brand, stadium club. has come to WWE for the first time ever, and fans of the Photography First collection can win a physical box in WWE Slam by Tops. You know, I bought a box of Stadium Club, and I got a numbered Brock Lesnar. I got a numbered John Cena. I got a signed Jade Cargill out of 50. I mean, it was a tremendous.
00:38:49
Speaker 3: A big hit.
00:38:50
Speaker 1: It was a tremendous experience, okay? The app, we were talking about, you know, WWE Slam. offers users the ability to rip digital packs for the chance to win a real physical hobby box of 2026 stadium club. The stadium club WWE challenge is live now in app. So head to the app store to download the app, find stadium club in the pack store and start ripping. And now let's welcome in your new intercontinental champion.
00:39:21
Speaker 2: From backstage here at the Barclays center.
00:39:24
Speaker 1: On the night that he became the new.
00:39:27
Speaker 4: Hey, how long is this going to be?
00:39:29
Speaker 2: I mean, which is mainly... I don't know. As long as you want.
00:39:33
Speaker 4: Okay, you can keep going then. Sorry, you were going to do something nice for me.
00:39:36
Speaker 1: Sorry.
00:39:36
Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
00:39:37
Speaker 2: That's okay.
00:39:37
Speaker 4: I just made this go longer and I regret it.
00:39:39
Speaker 2: That's all right. Well, that's okay. On the night that he became.
00:39:43
Speaker 1: the new WWE Intercontinental Champion, All Ego Ethan Page joins us.
00:39:51
Speaker 2: Ethan, may we be the first to say congratulations.
00:39:54
Speaker 3: Congrats.
00:39:55
Speaker 4: Yeah, congrats. You know, it would have been nice when I came to the back for that. I'm glad it took 45 minutes and me being pulled to do 17 jobs after the biggest night of my life and then ending up here to get a final clap. That was amazing. Thank you. I actually really need Go ahead.
00:40:15
Speaker 1: Well, that speaks volumes to, I mean, the crew, but also to you and the respect that you obviously earned.
00:40:21
Speaker 2: You know, you told me.
00:40:22
Speaker 4: What did I tell you?
00:40:24
Speaker 2: Not that long ago.
00:40:25
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:40:25
Speaker 1: That this whole career of yours was about trying to fill a void inside.
00:40:29
Speaker 4: Yeah, feel something.
00:40:30
Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
00:40:30
Speaker 2: Yeah. And then you said.
00:40:31
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:40:32
Speaker 2: Maybe when I win the Intercontinental Championship.
00:40:35
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:40:36
Speaker 2: I will feel something.
00:40:37
Speaker 3: Maybe.
00:40:38
Speaker 2: How do you feel?
00:40:38
Speaker 3: Look.
00:40:41
Speaker 4: Look. feel weird mostly because this is the ultimate goal and now that I've achieved it so early and so quickly it's like skewed I guess my view of the future I don't know why I thought it would be so hard to obtain this and then it happened so fast that I feel like I should reassess my goals which happens to me a lot in my life and I think that's why I feel nothing because I just know it's like I'm going to do something great again I'm sure you know what actually I just did an interview with Jackie I gave her my thoughts and I had said that it was extremely sad that I never got to witness myself actually win the Intercontinental Championship and I think that actually is the precipice of everything is I don't actually get to enjoy the journey I'm the one like dragging the cart behind me kind of thing I see.
00:41:45
Speaker 1: But I mean, you're living it. This is your journey.
00:41:49
Speaker 4: I know, but everyone else gets to enjoy it.
00:41:52
Speaker 1: Oh, you're saying that to witness it is the ultimate joy, you think, as opposed to living it.
00:41:59
Speaker 4: Yeah. You get to watch me.
00:42:01
Speaker 3: I was in the crowd tonight. It seemed like a lot of people were pretty disappointed to see Chad Gable lose the title. That was just my take.
00:42:07
Speaker 4: Oh, yeah? Who was that, Chad?
00:42:08
Speaker 3: I mean, the whole Barclays Center seemed a little disappointed.
00:42:12
Speaker 4: I saw you on 8th Avenue drinking a smoothie. And you paid me no mind. And now I'm standing here sitting. Sorry, I'm not standing. I'm sitting. Intercontinental champion. Please pay me mind. A little.
00:42:26
Speaker 2: Just a little.
00:42:26
Speaker 4: Don't talk about Chad.
00:42:28
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:42:28
Speaker 4: Even though his name's still on this.
00:42:30
Speaker 2: I mean, temporarily, I think. Thank you. Do you feel, I mean, I know you've earned the title. You are the champion. You will have nameplates. This is your reign. We're on night one of your reign.
00:42:42
Speaker 4: Oh, this is real, guys. Nobody is going to be able to take this from me.
00:42:46
Speaker 3: Sorry.
00:42:47
Speaker 4: This happened. It's not a dream or to some, apparently a nightmare. That's what you're telling me?
00:42:55
Speaker 3: Just me. Just a lot of people seem disappointed.
00:42:57
Speaker 2: I don't know.
00:42:57
Speaker 4: Everyone seemed pretty happy. I keep touching this mic. I'm sorry. I'm probably ruining the show.
00:43:02
Speaker 2: It's totally fine.
00:43:03
Speaker 4: I know. I really didn't care.
00:43:04
Speaker 2: No, I didn't imagine that. I didn't imagine that you did.
00:43:07
Speaker 1: Do you feel like there is something about this where I think maybe.
00:43:11
Speaker 4: I actually drink this or is this just here for like, you may drink it and there's a prop, but you may also, that's what I was asking.
00:43:17
Speaker 2: Drinkable prop.
00:43:18
Speaker 4: I thought so. Yeah.
00:43:18
Speaker 2: It's ingestible.
00:43:20
Speaker 1: Do you feel as though this is sort of an achievement that denotes the truth in everything that you've been saying about yourself that maybe people, my whole life.
00:43:30
Speaker 4: Yeah. Everything I've said has come true. Mostly quick. Something's taken a little while, you know, like coming to the WWE, um, That was the longest journey. And then once I finally found the right door to open, because they kept locking all the damn doors. Once I finally got in here, it was game over.
00:43:50
Speaker 2: Yeah. Right? Yeah. Look, yeah.
00:43:52
Speaker 4: Running through NXT.
00:43:53
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:43:54
Speaker 4: I'm a legend there.
00:43:55
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:43:57
Speaker 4: Now, Intercontinental Champion.
00:43:59
Speaker 1: And I don't think that people saw this one coming tonight. And I do think that people.
00:44:03
Speaker 4: I'm sorry, what? I'm sorry.
00:44:05
Speaker 2: I don't think people saw it coming.
00:44:06
Speaker 4: Why?
00:44:08
Speaker 2: That I don't know.
00:44:09
Speaker 3: Well, because Chad Gable has been having some of the most unbelievable matches week after week on Monday night raw. I mean, I thought he was going to hold the title for a very, very long time.
00:44:19
Speaker 2: He did too.
00:44:22
Speaker 4: He did too.
00:44:23
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:44:24
Speaker 2: Are you surprised that there are still like naysayers?
00:44:27
Speaker 4: No, this will happen for the rest of my life.
00:44:29
Speaker 2: Why is that?
00:44:30
Speaker 4: I think I just make people insecure.
00:44:32
Speaker 2: You think it's an insecurity?
00:44:33
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:44:34
Speaker 4: A hundred percent. You can't be happy for someone's success. You suck. Okay.
00:44:38
Speaker 2: Okay, do you think it's.
00:44:41
Speaker 1: At all possible that there is sort of a lack of humility that comes with it that people find?
00:44:46
Speaker 4: From who? The people watching me? 100% because they don't understand the process of getting where I have to go. Look, everyone treats Chad Gable like he's some American hero.
00:44:56
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:44:56
Speaker 4: My family immigrated to Canada. Then I had to leave Canada to come to America to finally get into the WWE to claim this. I didn't start my career in the WWE and then find my way through the system here. No, I have traveled the world and clawed to get here. So yes, I think the fans should have more humility for my life experience that I had to endure to get here and become champion.
00:45:24
Speaker 3: No.
00:45:25
Speaker 2: Yeah, no, no, I don't, I'm not, I'm not disagreeing. It wasn't a hundred percent of my question, but it's a good answer regardless.
00:45:30
Speaker 4: I didn't understand your question then.
00:45:32
Speaker 2: I was more taking it from your end. When it comes to humility.
00:45:37
Speaker 4: I have incredible humility. What are you talking about?
00:45:40
Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
00:45:41
Speaker 4: More in abundance.
00:45:43
Speaker 2: Really?
00:45:43
Speaker 4: More than anyone in this entire company.
00:45:46
Speaker 2: Including everybody in the, like, behind the scenes. I don't know these people.
00:45:50
Speaker 4: I don't know their history. I don't know what they've done. I don't know anything about them.
00:45:53
Speaker 3: Right.
00:45:53
Speaker 4: I know you enough to know I have more humility than you.
00:45:56
Speaker 2: That's tough.
00:45:57
Speaker 4: Why?
00:45:57
Speaker 2: For me to hear.
00:45:59
Speaker 4: Oh, buddy, live with the mirror in front of you. I'm sorry. I can't help it. Yeah.
00:46:03
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:46:04
Speaker 1: Do you think when it comes to being intercontinental champion do you see yourself as somebody because we've seen all sorts of different styles of defending champions are you the type that's going to defend every week that intercontinental titles have been associated with hey.
00:46:16
Speaker 4: You want some humility yeah not my show buddy oh am i the general manager absolutely not i am going to allow adam pierce to do his job and i'll do mine that's all these wrestling bozos running around the backstage trying to get their way oh i'm chad gable let me just give out a bunch of title shots to guys that wear masks i'm gonna go on a redemption tour and then beat the crap out of them and shake their hand at the end of the day he's a terrible person oh i didn't terrible person and yet you're asking what kind of champion am i gonna be yeah i'm not handing out title shots like chad gable i believe in allowing i don't know i guess due process right yeah that.
00:46:59
Speaker 2: He's a judge.
00:47:00
Speaker 4: He is the man that decides. Not I.
00:47:03
Speaker 3: Right.
00:47:03
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:47:04
Speaker 3: Right. Jack Gable's an Olympian.
00:47:06
Speaker 2: What is that? What for?
00:47:07
Speaker 4: Are you just giving out random facts?
00:47:10
Speaker 3: You said he's a terrible person.
00:47:11
Speaker 2: I mean, he's. You could be. There are terrible people who are also.
00:47:14
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah. Save your co-host here. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Before this gets clipped and put online.
00:47:18
Speaker 2: That's a tough. That's a tough argument.
00:47:19
Speaker 1: There have been Olympians that have been terrible.
00:47:21
Speaker 2: There have also been great Olympians, but one doesn't necessarily.
00:47:24
Speaker 3: I just have a lot of respect for Jack Gable. Personally, I do.
00:47:28
Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
00:47:29
Speaker 4: Not all Olympians.
00:47:32
Speaker 2: Just Chad Gable?
00:47:32
Speaker 4: Just Chad Gable as an Olympian.
00:47:35
Speaker 3: I just thought you were going a little hard on Chad Gable there, especially after what he's done for that title.
00:47:41
Speaker 2: Yes.
00:47:42
Speaker 4: He kept it away from me for way too long.
00:47:45
Speaker 1: Do you think that the fact that he kept it away from you for that long, do you judge yourself next to the people who weren't able to beat Chad Gable?
00:47:53
Speaker 2: Meaning all of these luchadors, all of these great wrestlers. Yes.
00:47:58
Speaker 1: That Chad Gable defended that title against before he defended it against you.
00:48:01
Speaker 4: I'm better than all of them.
00:48:02
Speaker 2: Is that what you think?
00:48:03
Speaker 4: It's fact.
00:48:04
Speaker 1: Right.
00:48:04
Speaker 4: I'm staying here with the token of excellence. This is genuine proof.
00:48:08
Speaker 2: And what about the exposed buckle that Danilo never fixed?
00:48:11
Speaker 1: Oh, that's true.
00:48:11
Speaker 3: That's a good point.
00:48:12
Speaker 4: You know what?
00:48:13
Speaker 2: What?
00:48:14
Speaker 4: You're correct. That was a great point. Say it again.
00:48:17
Speaker 2: What about the exposed turnbuckle? Nope.
00:48:19
Speaker 4: The second part.
00:48:20
Speaker 2: Danilo never fixed.
00:48:23
Speaker 3: Oh.
00:48:25
Speaker 2: That would be the answer, huh? Yeah.
00:48:26
Speaker 4: You can stop talking now. Do you have any questions?
00:48:31
Speaker 2: No.
00:48:32
Speaker 3: Congrats.
00:48:33
Speaker 4: I mean.
00:48:33
Speaker 2: Were you offended?
00:48:34
Speaker 3: A little bit.
00:48:36
Speaker 2: Because normally you have plenty of questions for people. A little bit.
00:48:38
Speaker 3: Yeah, a little bit offended.
00:48:39
Speaker 4: What exactly are you offended by? I don't want to leave here.
00:48:41
Speaker 2: Me or your feelings?
00:48:42
Speaker 3: I mean, it's just... I feel like you came in here just not acknowledging the fact that a lot of people were surprised that you won tonight. People were surprised.
00:48:52
Speaker 2: Okay.
00:48:54
Speaker 3: Maybe that's on us, the collective.
00:48:56
Speaker 4: Your lack of humility... would definitely lead you to guess wrong.
00:49:03
Speaker 1: Were you surprised that your question about everybody booing him didn't go over well with him?
00:49:10
Speaker 3: Thanks, Sam.
00:49:11
Speaker 2: Thanks for the help today.
00:49:12
Speaker 3: I really appreciate it.
00:49:13
Speaker 4: This is good. This will help your guys' relationship for sure.
00:49:16
Speaker 2: I think so. No, I was just wondering, you know, because it feels it got tense. all of a sudden. I feel, you know, okay. I understand who you are. You should. I'm trying to meet you.
00:49:26
Speaker 4: I think you need to understand who you are.
00:49:28
Speaker 2: Really?
00:49:29
Speaker 4: Honestly, everybody, everyone watching this, nobody understands who they are. You don't know. I know who I am. And that makes you and you and everyone watching different. Very, very, very uncomfortable.
00:49:41
Speaker 2: How did you get there? What?
00:49:44
Speaker 4: I just lived my life.
00:49:46
Speaker 2: Naturally? So just you?
00:49:47
Speaker 4: Yes, I don't care about nothing. Everybody's so worried about everything to partake in this facade of life. I live on the outside of that, and that's why I'm the champion. I don't want to play your little games. I live with humility, sir.
00:50:02
Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. What if Shag Abel goes to Adam Pearce and says, I'd like a rematch?
00:50:06
Speaker 4: It's up to Adam Pearce.
00:50:07
Speaker 3: Right.
00:50:09
Speaker 4: If Adam Pearce would like to give a match to a man I've already beat, great. Works out awesome for me.
00:50:15
Speaker 2: So there aren't any superstars that you would like to defend the title against?
00:50:18
Speaker 4: That is the dumbest thing a wrestler could say. Oh yeah, I would love to get in a fight with this guy and this guy and this guy and this guy. No, I want to be champion forever. My boss will tell me who I have to beat up and I'm going to do whatever I can to keep my championship and that's it. Whoever it is.
00:50:37
Speaker 3: Listen, I respect the strategy, but don't you think it kind of goes against the spirit of the Intercontinental title specifically?
00:50:43
Speaker 4: Well, I think the spirit of the token of excellence is that everyone that holds this goes on to do great things. And that's the only spirit I plan on keeping with the Intercontinental Championship. Nothing else.
00:50:57
Speaker 2: Well, look, congratulations.
00:50:58
Speaker 4: You know what? When you win the Intercontinental Championship.
00:51:01
Speaker 3: You can do whatever the hell you want.
00:51:03
Speaker 2: Okay. Thank you.
00:51:05
Speaker 4: No problem.
00:51:06
Speaker 3: Probably. You never know.
00:51:08
Speaker 4: I wish you luck.
00:51:09
Speaker 2: Thank you. You'd have to beat Ethan Page.
00:51:12
Speaker 4: No, no.
00:51:13
Speaker 1: If you were going to be the Intercontinental Champion. You said I probably will never be the Intercontinental Champion. In order for there to even be a chance, you'd have to beat Ethan.
00:51:21
Speaker 4: I'm the only Intercontinental Champion?
00:51:23
Speaker 3: Raquel Rodriguez.
00:51:23
Speaker 2: Wait, are you going to lose it? Oh, you mean the Women's Intercontinental Championship? You're going to beat Raquel Rodriguez?
00:51:28
Speaker 3: Probably not.
00:51:30
Speaker 2: Probably?
00:51:30
Speaker 3: Probably not.
00:51:33
Speaker 2: I'll just say this. I'm never going to be the Intercontinental Champion.
00:51:35
Speaker 4: I know.
00:51:36
Speaker 2: You did?
00:51:37
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:51:38
Speaker 2: Okay.
00:51:39
Speaker 4: But I bet $ 200 you have one of these in your house.
00:51:42
Speaker 2: Not like a regular one.
00:51:43
Speaker 4: No, no, no, the original one. I know you.
00:51:45
Speaker 2: He's got a couple. Yeah, come on, bro. A couple. Yeah, look.
00:51:48
Speaker 1: Look, I may be a collector, but you're a collector of one thing that's W's, and one of them you got tonight in Brooklyn, New York, and became the WWE Intercontinental Champion.
00:52:00
Speaker 2: Yes, I did.
00:52:00
Speaker 1: Ending the dream for Megan Morant Reign.
00:52:04
Speaker 2: Of Chad Gable once and for all and claiming that for yourself.
00:52:07
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:52:07
Speaker 2: Congratulations.
00:52:08
Speaker 4: Thank you.
00:52:09
Speaker 2: I can't wait to see the side plates.
00:52:10
Speaker 4: Yes.
00:52:11
Speaker 2: And you've been an inspiration with your humility. Thank you.
00:52:14
Speaker 4: I should be.
00:52:15
Speaker 2: To all of us.
00:52:16
Speaker 4: I should be.
00:52:17
Speaker 1: Thank you so much for being so giving of your time on this such historic night for you.
00:52:23
Speaker 4: Of course.
00:52:23
Speaker 2: What are you going to go to celebrate now? What do you mean? And who are you going to celebrate with?
00:52:26
Speaker 4: I'm going to go make sure. I'm going to go talk to Talent Relations and make sure I don't have any other BS to do so I can get paid on Friday. And that's it. I'm going to check all my boxes so my boss is happy and I get my check.
00:52:37
Speaker 2: Cool, man.
00:52:38
Speaker 1: Cool. Well, thank you for coming and allowing us to be a box on your list to be checked.
00:52:44
Speaker 4: Hopefully last box. Yeah. Yeah.
00:52:46
Speaker 2: Of course.
00:52:47
Speaker 4: Thank you guys for enjoying the show tonight.
00:52:51
Speaker 2: Well, thank you to Ethan Page.
00:52:53
Speaker 3: Dude, I feel like you kept trying to become friends with him. And listen, I know he didn't like me and he was deserved and you were just. He didn't like you either. All right, didn't like you either.
00:53:02
Speaker 2: You literally, this is so crazy. He did it. Do you know that you literally started the podcast going, I am not a hater.
00:53:09
Speaker 1: That's what you said. You said the phrase, I am not a hater. That's not what I am. And this is literally your behavior.
00:53:16
Speaker 3: Just when someone doesn't like me, you go, oh, this is my chance. This is my chance. Yeah, I'm really going to get in with this guy. And Ethan didn't take that.
00:53:23
Speaker 2: It had nothing to do with getting in with this guy.
00:53:25
Speaker 1: I like to explore the feelings in the room.
00:53:27
Speaker 2: I found it interesting. That you started with a hostile question, and then you got upset.
00:53:34
Speaker 3: Well, someone has to, like, call out the obvious. What?
00:53:37
Speaker 2: Did he want the intercontinental?
00:53:38
Speaker 1: I was doing, you know. But I wasn't trying. I'm not here to make friends. I'm here to get to the bottom of things.
00:53:44
Speaker 3: Until someone doesn't like me, and then you go, I'll be friends with them.
00:53:47
Speaker 2: Well, no. If we end up being friends because we have things that we have in common, then sure. But....
00:53:54
Speaker 3: All right, well, we have other things.
00:53:56
Speaker 4: Softball.
00:53:57
Speaker 1: No, you hit me with the softball pitch on that one. That one wasn't my fault. That was your fault. And I couldn't help myself.
00:54:04
Speaker 3: We have other things to talk about. Like big things.
00:54:06
Speaker 2: Oh, you're right.
00:54:07
Speaker 4: Yeah.
00:54:07
Speaker 3: Big, big, big. How about that?
00:54:10
Speaker 2: I mean, okay.
00:54:11
Speaker 3: Well, and I just, I want to set the record straight here for John Cena. He comes out, he has a t-shirt on, shorts on. It was, they were not jorts.
00:54:18
Speaker 2: You did.
00:54:19
Speaker 1: And you picked up on it so quick because he told us here on the now, not that long, like a year ago that they, that, you know, he was done with the jorts when he left the Wrestling. When he wasn't going to wrestle anymore, which happened in December of last year, that he was done with the jorts.
00:54:36
Speaker 2: And I did.
00:54:36
Speaker 1: He was wearing the Brooklyn Never Seen 17 t-shirt. He was wearing shorts, but you picked up right away.
00:54:43
Speaker 2: Those are cargos.
00:54:44
Speaker 3: Right. Not jorts. Big difference.
00:54:47
Speaker 2: Completely different. Totally fine. Completely safe.
00:54:49
Speaker 1: And he has said in interviews before that those are more likely to split in matches, but since he's not wrestling anymore, he can feel free to.
00:54:58
Speaker 2: Yeah. where the car goes.
00:55:00
Speaker 1: So we finally got something that has been so wildly speculated about ever since John Cena, I believe at WrestleMania mentioned that he was going to do this. He came out to announce the John Cena classic. Finally, the John Cena classic. All we really knew about it going in was that there would be some kind of championship that there would be some kind of fan vote, but that's it.
00:55:23
Speaker 2: So here's the information that we got. We got a date. First of all, December 14th, I love it.
00:55:29
Speaker 1: You know why 2026 is a great year? Because there's 53 Raws instead of 52 Raws.
00:55:34
Speaker 4: Yes.
00:55:35
Speaker 2: I didn't even think of that.
00:55:36
Speaker 1: Extra Raws.
00:55:36
Speaker 3: That's a good one.
00:55:37
Speaker 4: I know. I know.
00:55:38
Speaker 2: Extra Raws.
00:55:39
Speaker 3: Wow.
00:55:39
Speaker 2: Because I sometimes think about that. I go, you know what would make Mondays even better?
00:55:42
Speaker 3: Another Raw.
00:55:43
Speaker 2: Two Raws.
00:55:44
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:55:44
Speaker 2: Two Raws. A little bookend. That's what I call it. A little bookend for myself. And we're probably going to need two Raw recaps that day, right?
00:55:50
Speaker 3: I think.
00:55:51
Speaker 2: Double pod for sure. For sure. From Disney World.
00:55:54
Speaker 4: I don't know.
00:55:54
Speaker 3: Can you work a double? Yeah. You going to be all right?
00:55:56
Speaker 2: I think I can manage. I'll figure it out. I'll figure it out. I'll take an energy bar or something.
00:56:01
Speaker 1: So we find out it's happening on the 14th of December, which I believe Monday Night Raw will emanate in the morning.
00:56:09
Speaker 2: Yes, in Australia. From Perth, Australia.
00:56:12
Speaker 1: And then at 8 p.m. Eastern time, a second special episode of Monday Night Raw will come on. It will be the John Cena classic, and it will emanate from... Disney World!
00:56:25
Speaker 3: It's so cool. It's so cool.
00:56:27
Speaker 2: That's so great.
00:56:28
Speaker 3: As soon as you announce it, you're on the phone politicking for us to go.
00:56:32
Speaker 2: I was. I was instantly. We gotta go.
00:56:35
Speaker 3: We gotta go to Disney.
00:56:36
Speaker 2: I was instantly going for the pod.
00:56:38
Speaker 3: Yeah.
00:56:38
Speaker 2: We gotta go for the pod. I think we wouldn't. It's scenic.
00:56:41
Speaker 3: We gotta be there.
00:56:42
Speaker 2: You gotta show your support.
00:56:43
Speaker 3: It's the first ever. Inaugural, right?
00:56:45
Speaker 2: The inaugural. That's right.
00:56:46
Speaker 3: You always remember the first.
00:56:48
Speaker 2: A hundred. Yes. Yes.
00:56:50
Speaker 4: Yes.
00:56:51
Speaker 1: Yes. I'm not going to touch that. But we see.
00:56:59
Speaker 2: John Cena unveils the belt.
00:57:01
Speaker 3: Nice belt.
00:57:02
Speaker 2: The new championship.
00:57:03
Speaker 3: You thought it maybe would have a spinner on it?
00:57:05
Speaker 1: It did, and it's designed to be reminiscent of the spinner, but it doesn't actually spin, which is probably for the better, but I would love it if it had spun.
00:57:14
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, it would only be fitting, right?
00:57:16
Speaker 1: But it was super sparkly. It was super nice, and John did say... that it would be all about perseverance, hustle, loyalty, and respect. He said that the voting would go down at Club WWE. Club Dub is going to be in charge of all the voting for this John Cena classic. He said he was showing up everywhere. He said he's going to be on NXT on Wednesday. He's going to be showing up at Raw's. He's going to be showing up at SmackDown's. He said he'll even be in Houston for the Survivor Series. Because he wants to make sure that he invites all the people that need to be there. And the first person that he invited tonight on Monday Night Raw was the American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes.
00:58:02
Speaker 3: And the whole mood changed in the Barclays Center when Cody's music hit. And he makes his way to the ring wearing the beautiful three-piece suit. And you know how I know everyone was really buying this? I looked over to the announce desk where Joe Tess is there. Joe Tess, phenomenal job. Mm-hmm. I see him holding up his phone and taking a picture of Cody Rhodes and John Cena in the middle of the ring.
00:58:27
Speaker 2: What a mark.
00:58:28
Speaker 4: That's amazing.
00:58:29
Speaker 2: That's amazing.
00:58:30
Speaker 3: I was more pointing out like, that's how you could tell it was special. Cause even Tess, who sits there for work every single Monday, he's like, I gotta get a shot of this.
00:58:38
Speaker 2: I think we're saying the same thing.
00:58:39
Speaker 3: Well, I mean, you said it a little bit degrading.
00:58:44
Speaker 2: I just believe in word economy. Oh, that's, you know what I mean?
00:58:47
Speaker 3: Or insults.
00:58:48
Speaker 1: No, I don't think, well, but yeah, I mean, it really was a special moment to see these two in the ring. And John Cena brings up the fact that he has publicly been talking about, uh, Cody and the weight that he carries on his shoulder. Uh, talking about being QB one, talking about taking on responsibility that he doesn't need to, but then kind of walking it back. and saying that Cody is simply taking on that responsibility better than John ever did, which is massive.
00:59:19
Speaker 3: It's like hard to fathom too, right? I mean, it's not because it's Cody, right? But coming from John to say that?
00:59:25
Speaker 2: Yes.
00:59:26
Speaker 3: Like John carried it in a way.
00:59:28
Speaker 2: You mean hard to fathom like John- would have that observation about.
00:59:31
Speaker 3: Anybody, anybody, anybody that, you know, when you're comparing somebody to John Cena, that was a totally different conversation, right? Like Cody is great. And John Cena is great. But like for John Cena to say, you're doing this better than me.
00:59:47
Speaker 4: Huge.
00:59:47
Speaker 3: When we had a whole year celebrating the career of John Cena.
00:59:51
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:59:52
Speaker 4: Right.
00:59:52
Speaker 3: And everything he's done. It's, I think like the highest level compliment that anybody can give anybody ever.
00:59:58
Speaker 1: Certainly the highest level compliment that I think John Cena is capable of giving. And that's done with intention. You know, when John has been in the ring with people that he thinks don't need to be complimented, he will not compliment them.
01:00:09
Speaker 2: That's right. He can make your life very difficult.
01:00:11
Speaker 3: And I think that's too, when you look at the precedent too, it's not like John Cena just says things to say them.
01:00:17
Speaker 4: Never.
01:00:17
Speaker 3: There's merit behind.
01:00:18
Speaker 2: What he says.
01:00:19
Speaker 1: I agree with that. I agree with that a hundred percent. And the idea that Cody Rhodes is invited. Now we don't exactly know how the match systems are going to work or how, uh, you know, What exactly will Cody have a match?
01:00:32
Speaker 2: Who knows?
01:00:33
Speaker 3: But it does set the tone for what this John Cena classic is all about because if Cody's going to be a part of it, this immediately makes you go, oh, this is one of the biggest prizes, one of the biggest honors in WWE.
01:00:44
Speaker 2: That's right. That's right.
01:00:45
Speaker 1: And if it's going to Cody and then going down to NXT, we are really looking to show not just the future but the full kind of breadth Of what WWE is.
01:00:57
Speaker 3: Think about it right now. NXT, a lot of new faces, right?
01:00:59
Speaker 1: Yeah, sure.
01:01:00
Speaker 3: On NXT right now.
01:01:00
Speaker 2: Always, yeah.
01:01:01
Speaker 3: If you get an opportunity to be in this John Cena classic.
01:01:05
Speaker 2: I mean, you skip the line.
01:01:06
Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. And be in the ring with Cody Rhodes.
01:01:10
Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean.
01:01:11
Speaker 3: When you've been in NXT. A lot of the people in NXT haven't even been on television for a year yet.
01:01:16
Speaker 1: You know who's the last one that did that thanks to John Cena? His name's Oba Femi.
01:01:20
Speaker 3: The Ruler.
01:01:20
Speaker 1: The Ruler.
01:01:21
Speaker 3: I think he's doing some good things.
01:01:23
Speaker 2: And he's doing pretty well for himself ever since then.
01:01:26
Speaker 1: So I'm so excited. But yes, we're going to see John on NXT on Wednesday. He's coming back to Raw. He's coming back to SmackDown. And he will be at Survivor Series in Houston to talk more and invite more people to this John Cena Classic that's going down the 14th of December at Disney World on Netflix.
01:01:48
Speaker 2: I am so pumped about this.
01:01:50
Speaker 1: But Just when it was time for us all to celebrate what was going on, like you said, a wonderful compliment from John Cena, big event announced by John Cena, that Randy Orton music hits. And Randy Orton, well, I'll just say what he said. He said he was there to interrupt a circle jerk, which I don't know what that means.
01:02:11
Speaker 2: I don't know what that is.
01:02:11
Speaker 3: I think you're going to have to ask your mom about that one.
01:02:14
Speaker 2: Why would she know what that is?
01:02:16
Speaker 3: Explain that to you.
01:02:17
Speaker 2: I'll go on Urban Dictionary.
01:02:18
Speaker 1: Yeah, something like that. I don't think she knows. I really hope she doesn't. But, but, you know, Randy came out and he made his point simple. He talked about how Cody had, he said, don't, you know, Cody was ready to fight. Taking the tie off, taking the jacket off.
01:02:33
Speaker 2: Randy said, no, no, no, no.
01:02:35
Speaker 1: But he said at Crown Jewel, we have a last man standing match. You have no experience with that last man standing rule, but I do. And then he starts talking about something that I guess, I don't know.
01:02:47
Speaker 2: I didn't put it together.
01:02:49
Speaker 1: First, he goes into being a professional wrestler. And why he was born to be a professional wrestler.
01:02:55
Speaker 3: Third generation.
01:02:56
Speaker 1: And why he broke his back. And he said Cody could break his back again. He'd go back and get more surgery.
01:03:01
Speaker 3: Shout out Dr. Cantor.
01:03:03
Speaker 2: Shout out Dr. Cantor.
01:03:06
Speaker 1: He'd go back and become RoboCop and be right back at it. And I believe that about Randy Orton. And Randy Orton's sitting there going like, you know, I'm not looking for the movies. Not looking to be on the cover of anything. I'm looking to be this guy.
01:03:19
Speaker 3: I'm looking to be a professional freaking wrestler.
01:03:23
Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
01:03:23
Speaker 2: And that showed a lot of discipline.
01:03:24
Speaker 3: It felt like he wanted to say another word other than freaking.
01:03:26
Speaker 1: And I'm sitting there going like, Randy's kind of coming across as a good guy here.
01:03:30
Speaker 2: I might start cheering Randy Orton.
01:03:32
Speaker 1: And just as you're ready to cheer Randy Orton, he goes, you know who I wrestled? We haven't even brought up. I wrestled your dad. He's talking about being a legend killer. He says, I wrestled your dad. You want to talk about last man standing? I wrestled him in a Texas.
01:03:48
Speaker 2: Bull rope match.
01:03:49
Speaker 3: At the Great American Bash.
01:03:51
Speaker 2: And he says, I kicked him in the head. And I was the last man standing.
01:03:57
Speaker 3: I retired him and I rang his bell.
01:03:59
Speaker 2: He said, yeah.
01:04:00
Speaker 3: You can call me the Rhodes Killer if you want.
01:04:02
Speaker 1: He said, you can call me the Rhodes Killer. But he said, Cody, if your dream was to be just like your daddy.
01:04:13
Speaker 2: I'm going to make sure that comes true on Saturday.
01:04:16
Speaker 1: And you're like, you know, we could talk all we want about the meaner side of Cody Rhodes. And we could talk all we want about Cody stepping out of his comfort zone. But Randy Orton just has this ability and he showcased it tonight of bringing you right back down to reality.
01:04:33
Speaker 2: It's an amazing, amazing thing to witness.
01:04:35
Speaker 3: It's crazy. The ride we went on from being like, wow, Cody seen us so much respect, this new championship, a lot of excitement, a lot of, Future talk, a lot of what will this look like, and Randy brings everyone right back down to earth.
01:04:49
Speaker 2: Right back down. I cannot wait to see how it all goes.
01:04:51
Speaker 1: We will, of course, be there to recap Crown Jewel, which is already in front of us before the next episode of Monday Night Raw. Make sure you're subscribed to the podcast across all audio platforms. Hit like, leave comments, do the deal on YouTube, and we will see you later this week for more WWE Now.
01:04:51
