00:00:01.120 --> 00:00:04.719
Welcome back, everybody, to this special episode of Wisdom Without the Guru.
00:00:04.719 --> 00:00:06.240
I'm your host, Regina.
00:00:06.240 --> 00:00:12.480
So today I'm speaking with my returning guest from last week's episode, Michelle Wincell O'Leary.
00:00:12.480 --> 00:00:22.640
And today we're going to be talking about the book Michelle has authored called Flow in the Present, Level One Resilience, which is the first in a series to come.
00:00:22.640 --> 00:00:33.679
Now, Michelle has previously shared with us the challenges and pivot points in her journey to date and how her life became ultimately rooted in presence and consciousness.
00:00:33.679 --> 00:00:46.880
This book is a product of that path, and today we're going to discover more about it and the series to come, why Michelle wrote it, who it's intended for, and what are some key moments that occurred during the process of writing it.
00:00:46.880 --> 00:01:00.640
And then we're also going to have another intro to a collaboration book that Michelle just completed as we're recording this that will come out before this recording is actually released, but we're going to touch on that as well.
00:01:00.640 --> 00:01:02.399
So welcome back, Michelle.
00:01:02.399 --> 00:01:02.960
How are you?
00:01:02.960 --> 00:01:04.560
Oh, she's still on her boat.
00:01:04.879 --> 00:01:06.000
I'm doing great.
00:01:06.000 --> 00:01:07.599
I'm excited to be back.
00:01:07.599 --> 00:01:16.959
And, you know, thank you so much for uh continuing to talk about my journey and this book because it's a real passion and heartfelt project of mine.
00:01:16.959 --> 00:01:19.359
And I just appreciate the opportunity very much.
00:01:19.760 --> 00:01:21.040
Well, you're very welcome.
00:01:21.040 --> 00:01:27.760
And I'm sure that you are enjoying life as usual from your boat where you live.
00:01:27.760 --> 00:01:36.000
I've only ever heard of really people living on their boats in Europe in Amsterdam, you know, where you have all these sort of flat or in parts of France.
00:01:36.000 --> 00:01:38.000
I mean, what kind of boat is it that you're living on?
00:01:38.000 --> 00:01:39.359
Is it a sailboat or?
00:01:40.079 --> 00:01:40.959
No, it's not.
00:01:40.959 --> 00:01:42.000
It's a powerboat.
00:01:42.000 --> 00:01:43.359
It's a cabin cruiser.
00:01:43.359 --> 00:01:52.799
So it has all the comforts of a small, floating, tiny home, plus an upper deck and an outer deck, and it travels and a swim deck.
00:01:52.799 --> 00:02:06.799
So, I mean, there's all kinds of places to be while I'm in a marina and while I'm on the river, uh, the Mississippi River, um, between Minnesota and Wisconsin in the northern part of the United States, right in the central part of the United States.
00:02:07.120 --> 00:02:09.520
And even in the winter, you're on it?
00:02:09.759 --> 00:02:11.039
No, no, I don't.
00:02:11.039 --> 00:02:15.039
No, in the winter, winters are different, and it depends which year it is.
00:02:15.039 --> 00:02:31.520
Some years it's more of a traveling year, like the year I wrote this book was a year I was traveling and had space by myself from one city to the next where friends and family were, um, but allowed me really a lot of alone time for writing in different environments, which is great.
00:02:31.520 --> 00:02:37.919
Other years I do have different events, different books coming out, um, like the other book we were just talking about.
00:02:37.919 --> 00:02:44.400
And I rent or find housing, you know, in different places and stay for the off-season.
00:02:44.400 --> 00:02:46.719
Every year's a little different right now, for it that way.
00:02:47.120 --> 00:02:48.400
Sounds like a lot of fun.
00:02:48.400 --> 00:03:04.800
And you know, that's really interesting to write in different spots because when you think about in, you know, the Oscar Wilde times and the Shakespearean times or these types of authors, they would actually, or Hemingway, they would go and live in different places and write in these different places.
00:03:04.800 --> 00:03:09.360
So I would imagine this offers a different kind of stimuli to the process.
00:03:09.680 --> 00:03:10.159
Absolutely.
00:03:10.159 --> 00:03:10.800
Yeah.
00:03:10.800 --> 00:03:13.280
I love places that are by the water.
00:03:13.280 --> 00:03:17.439
I enjoy being on the water, near the water, in the water.
00:03:17.439 --> 00:03:19.599
So I love visiting places that offer that.
00:03:19.599 --> 00:03:30.800
And then also I get to immerse in different landscape, different culture, um, meet different people, and it does spark inspiration for me in terms of writing.
00:03:30.800 --> 00:03:44.719
And it also shows me new things, new ways of interacting with people I've never met before, and also shows me kind of who I am and how that, how I am in all these different places with different people.
00:03:44.719 --> 00:03:46.080
What's the same about me?
00:03:46.080 --> 00:03:47.120
What shifts about me?
00:03:47.120 --> 00:03:47.919
What do I learn?
00:03:47.919 --> 00:03:48.960
How do I grow?
00:03:48.960 --> 00:03:53.599
It's just really an exciting way to be creative and in touch with yourself.
00:03:53.599 --> 00:03:56.800
You're like conscious and in the moment in touch with yourself.
00:03:57.120 --> 00:04:14.400
Yeah, that's super interesting because you think about a lot of writers, they just kind of like go back to their apartment or their home and okay, I'm gonna do the so many hours a day, and I'm gonna do it, and I do it in the same place, and you don't have this kind of different type of energy that's around you all the time.
00:04:14.400 --> 00:04:15.039
Great.
00:04:15.039 --> 00:04:17.439
So let's see how it appeared in your book.
00:04:17.759 --> 00:04:18.560
Excellent.
00:04:19.439 --> 00:04:28.240
So you just told us that you were actually traveling when you wrote this book, but before that, why did you actually decide to write this book?
00:04:28.240 --> 00:04:30.879
And it's not just one book, it's a series.
00:04:30.879 --> 00:04:35.360
So why is it why did you decide to write the book and why is it a series?
00:04:35.680 --> 00:04:37.519
Yeah, those are great questions.
00:04:37.519 --> 00:04:46.480
And, you know, when we talked last time, I think I talked about the trifecta that happened in my life that shifted everything in the summer of 2023.
00:04:46.480 --> 00:04:55.199
So I had the opportunity because I now do not have a career and job that I need to be present at every day.
00:04:55.199 --> 00:05:02.399
I'm no longer in a marital relationship, and actually I didn't have a place to live once it came to winter when I left my boat.
00:05:02.399 --> 00:05:08.160
So that was the first year where that happened, and I decided it was an excellent opportunity to travel.
00:05:08.160 --> 00:05:10.079
I knew a few things.
00:05:10.079 --> 00:05:17.199
One, I was engaged in the mastering alchemy coursework, which I've also talked about, and there was a conference.
00:05:17.199 --> 00:05:36.639
When those conferences happened, it's like hundreds of my best friends from all over the world come together in one place, everybody sort of speaking the same consciousness energy language, and we are able to connect with each other in person as opposed to all our online.
00:05:36.639 --> 00:05:43.439
So that's how the whole travel journey kicked off was the conference in San Diego, where I then stayed.
00:05:43.439 --> 00:05:51.920
I had just graduated from that coursework, went to the conference, and now I had months until the boat would go back in the water in April.
00:05:51.920 --> 00:06:20.480
So for those months, I traveled and stayed with different friends and family that were dear to me to spend time with them and to explore with myself how do I integrate my career in mental health, in healthcare and healing, with now my alchemy, energy, and consciousness studies in a way that kind of fits and flows together and describes the philosophy that I offer.
00:06:20.480 --> 00:06:30.079
And I wanted it to kind of be a grounding book that I could then bring into my business and show to people and say, this is what I do.
00:06:30.079 --> 00:06:33.279
This is why I do it, this is how I do it.
00:06:33.279 --> 00:06:35.680
So that's how it came to be.
00:06:35.680 --> 00:06:40.720
I met in my travels online, I met a woman named Deepeka Sandhu.
00:06:40.720 --> 00:06:49.040
She is now the CEO of Soul Sparks Press, where the new book that I've been a part of was written.
00:06:49.040 --> 00:06:55.439
In my conversation with her, she had a similar trifecta in her life years ago that she wrote a book about.
00:06:55.439 --> 00:07:00.160
So I was attracted to have a conversation with her, and we discovered we had a lot in common.
00:07:00.160 --> 00:07:02.879
She said, What can I do to help you?
00:07:02.879 --> 00:07:08.000
And I said, I really could use someone to help me with, I've never written a book like this before.
00:07:08.000 --> 00:07:11.519
I don't really know what I'm doing or who I'm writing for or how to do this.
00:07:11.519 --> 00:07:14.240
And she said, I know exactly who you should connect with.
00:07:14.240 --> 00:07:22.399
So she connected me with a book coach who goes by Dee, which is short for Devangani Mahapatra Chuan.
00:07:22.399 --> 00:07:26.319
I met Dee and we immediately hit it off.
00:07:26.319 --> 00:07:33.920
And I worked with Dee, who is a writer, a publisher, and a neurolinguistic professional.
00:07:33.920 --> 00:07:42.480
And what she did is she helped structure how I could convey my message from chapter to chapter to chapter.
00:07:42.480 --> 00:07:47.680
We met every week and she would kind of give me assignments and way to think about it and structure it.
00:07:47.680 --> 00:07:52.959
And during that week, I would write a chapter every single time and go, here's the next chapter.
00:07:52.959 --> 00:08:01.439
In 12 weeks, I had written 80,000 words, which is a lot for a new writer to just spew out.
00:08:01.439 --> 00:08:03.519
Now I didn't just spew it out.
00:08:03.519 --> 00:08:29.600
The process I used to write it was a conscious process of really engaging with sort of my higher mind and my inner wisdom, which is why I love the title of your podcast, Wisdom Without a Guru, being my own source of wisdom and all the experience I've had, and flow out each chapter to describe kind of the layer of energy in my process of transformation.
00:08:29.600 --> 00:08:34.480
Each chapter explored a different version of that.
00:08:34.480 --> 00:08:38.639
The first chapter in the book is resilience.
00:08:38.639 --> 00:08:44.159
And that's why my book is titled Resilience: Flow in the Present Series.
00:08:44.159 --> 00:08:47.679
Each chapter is a different energy level.
00:08:47.679 --> 00:08:51.600
Now, the last piece you asked about is why is it a series?
00:08:51.600 --> 00:08:57.600
The first chapter was provided to a group of early readers to give me some feedback on.
00:08:57.600 --> 00:09:04.320
And one of the things I noticed in that process is it was taking them a really long time to provide feedback.
00:09:04.320 --> 00:09:08.320
And I wondered, huh, like I wonder what's happening.
00:09:08.320 --> 00:09:15.679
And so I checked in, and what I heard back was there's so much in this book that I want to savor it.
00:09:15.679 --> 00:09:17.919
I want to go back to certain parts.
00:09:17.919 --> 00:09:22.080
I want to explore myself in the process of reading this chapter.
00:09:22.080 --> 00:09:24.399
I don't just want to rush through and read it.
00:09:24.399 --> 00:09:32.559
And so that's where the concept of maybe the chapters are full enough that it's actually a book instead of a chapter.
00:09:32.559 --> 00:09:44.320
And we decided let's go with each chapter, each level of energy as its own book in a series of books that is a complete energetic transformation set.
00:09:44.320 --> 00:09:49.279
And that's how Flow in the Present series came to be.
00:09:50.000 --> 00:09:55.360
So the first book is Resilience. If I understand correctly.
00:09:55.919 --> 00:09:56.080
Yes.
00:09:55.929 --> 00:09:57.279
So what's the second book?
00:09:57.759 --> 00:10:02.399
That's gonna be released early next year, and it's about awakenings.
00:10:02.399 --> 00:10:03.039
Okay.
00:10:03.039 --> 00:10:05.679
How many books will there be?
00:10:05.679 --> 00:10:08.000
There's 11 books in total.
00:10:08.000 --> 00:10:10.240
There's 11 layers of energy.
00:10:10.240 --> 00:10:17.360
You know, many books do this thing where they kind of have this climax and then they come to a conclusion.
00:10:17.360 --> 00:10:45.120
And in terms of transformation and energetics, for me, the way that I write and the way my books are laid out, it more is kind of a spiral, like, oh, there's that layer, and then there's that layer, and it just keeps going because that's what happens for us consciously as spiritual beings or conscious beings, is we just sort of layer up and level up and elevate and expand, and that's kind of how it works.
00:10:45.120 --> 00:10:48.480
So my book series kind of follows that pathway.
00:10:48.480 --> 00:10:57.840
So we start with resilience because that is where we're looking at how do we go from surviving survival mode to thriving?
00:10:57.840 --> 00:11:05.519
How do we go from being unconscious to being conscious of our unconscious?
00:11:05.519 --> 00:11:18.879
And then ultimately being able to move from, oh, I just noticed myself being unconscious to let me move myself back into conscious because I noticed what I was doing and I interrupted it and now I'm conscious again.
00:11:18.879 --> 00:11:34.240
And I can hold that conscious space more and more over time and make decisions from there and set energies from there and create the life that you want to lead from there, consciously making those choices.
00:11:34.240 --> 00:11:46.720
And once you're conscious of being conscious and can kind of maintain that, now you're kind of able to stay awake in the moments that are present in front of you.
00:11:46.720 --> 00:11:48.960
And that's where the second book leads.
00:11:49.279 --> 00:11:56.559
And so you have pretty much interwoven the experiences of your own life with the mastering alchemy that you have studied.
00:11:56.559 --> 00:12:05.759
Because I think of resilience, and I'm thinking back to your story of you know, some of the things that you were subjected to, and you had to be resilient.
00:12:05.759 --> 00:12:10.399
And so I guess that was the starting point for you also.
00:12:11.039 --> 00:12:11.519
Yes.
00:12:11.519 --> 00:12:12.320
It was.
00:12:12.320 --> 00:12:29.200
When I was using the help of Dee to kind of organize my thoughts, the idea was to start with the earliest energy that someone looking for transformation might be experiencing.
00:12:29.200 --> 00:12:40.080
Resilience on many levels across all kinds of people in all kinds of places who are just getting by day by day, moment by moment.
00:12:40.080 --> 00:12:41.600
And it's a struggle.
00:12:41.600 --> 00:12:42.879
It's a challenge.
00:12:42.879 --> 00:12:45.120
They're stuck, they don't know what to do.
00:12:45.120 --> 00:12:49.759
That's the kind of book that resilience gets you started in.
00:12:49.759 --> 00:12:51.279
Well, let's take a look at that.
00:12:51.279 --> 00:12:58.960
Let's become a little more conscious of what's not currently conscious and shift the experience.
00:12:58.960 --> 00:13:03.200
And that's what I needed to do all the time as a person.
00:13:03.200 --> 00:13:05.440
And that's why I started there.
00:13:06.080 --> 00:13:08.320
And was it difficult to work it?
00:13:08.320 --> 00:13:15.679
Well, okay, you so you said you hit it off right away with this person, but this person had not taken the mastering alchemy course.
00:13:16.000 --> 00:13:16.320
No.
00:13:16.639 --> 00:13:31.120
So were you able to make it easily understood how you wanted to weave these things together, or did it take some sitting down and explaining pretty much your own spirituality to this person?
00:13:31.519 --> 00:13:33.279
Yeah, that's a great question.
00:13:33.279 --> 00:13:41.440
One of the reasons that Dee and I hit it off right away is because we sort of felt a connection with each other.
00:13:41.440 --> 00:13:48.559
And Dee does have her own spiritual understandings and beliefs that are equally deep and important.
00:13:48.559 --> 00:13:56.799
And so we had a way of communicating with each other that felt comfortable, it felt open, it felt vulnerable.
00:13:56.799 --> 00:14:01.519
And this is kind of how I operate as a co-creator.
00:14:01.519 --> 00:14:06.960
I'm always learning about other people and also with other people.
00:14:06.960 --> 00:14:11.360
And together, we're both growing in the process.
00:14:11.360 --> 00:14:13.679
And I also am learning from other people.
00:14:13.679 --> 00:14:15.519
And that's what happened in our process.
00:14:15.519 --> 00:14:26.399
I learned a lot about her in the process, which in turn helped me understand how to put my words into an understandable format for people.
00:14:26.399 --> 00:14:34.960
And she learned a lot about how I practice that directly impacted her understanding of herself and her own life.
00:14:34.960 --> 00:14:39.519
And so that's for me, that's a perfect co-creative experience.
00:14:39.840 --> 00:14:41.440
Now that's a perfect alchemy.
00:14:41.440 --> 00:14:46.960
And two things are put together and out comes a product, a book.
00:14:47.200 --> 00:14:47.840
Yeah.
00:14:47.840 --> 00:14:49.039
Or 11.
00:14:50.000 --> 00:14:50.399
Yep.
00:14:50.399 --> 00:15:06.480
So as you were writing this, were was there anything that, I mean, obviously, because you are including bits of your life into it, were there any things that you sort of had aha moments where you thought, oh, I didn't realize that before?
00:15:06.480 --> 00:15:13.759
And as you were going through this writing process, you started having further realizations that perhaps you had not had before.
00:15:13.759 --> 00:15:16.639
And were any of these hard to accept?
00:15:16.960 --> 00:15:17.279
Yeah.
00:15:17.279 --> 00:15:18.480
What a great question.
00:15:18.480 --> 00:15:19.679
There's so many.
00:15:19.679 --> 00:15:26.879
Anyone, I think, who's a writer, at some point is exploring something about themselves through their creativity.
00:15:26.879 --> 00:15:36.320
And as you kind of let go and let that creativity express itself, in my opinion, you are bound to discover things about yourself.
00:15:36.320 --> 00:15:40.960
And yes, one of the things I discovered, there's a couple I can share.
00:15:40.960 --> 00:15:45.840
One is more interesting, and one's a little more like, oh wow, okay, good to know.
00:15:45.840 --> 00:15:58.720
The uh the interesting one is I was kind of exploring my family lineage, and um, there's parts in the book about like how do we absorb the energies of other people that are around us.
00:15:58.720 --> 00:16:08.480
And one of the ways we notice it is in our own words or sounds or tones or how we feel, those kind of things.
00:16:08.480 --> 00:16:15.279
I had grown up and my mother has this just lovely laugh, like this contagious lovely laugh.
00:16:15.279 --> 00:16:23.440
And also there was a lot of anxiety in my household and things that, you know, we had talked about uh in our in the first podcast together.
00:16:23.440 --> 00:16:31.840
But I started recognizing these moments where I would laugh and I would go, I sound exactly like my mother.
00:16:31.840 --> 00:16:36.240
Like it doesn't even, it is her.
00:16:36.240 --> 00:16:38.000
Like that's my mom.
00:16:38.000 --> 00:16:43.279
Like literally in my space, her tone and energy in my space.
00:16:43.279 --> 00:16:45.440
It's not my laugh, it's hers.
00:16:45.440 --> 00:16:49.440
And I love her laugh, but I wanted my own, which sounds a little odd.
00:16:49.440 --> 00:16:54.960
But I was like, well, what do I sound like if I'm just using her joy as my joy?
00:16:54.960 --> 00:16:56.799
Like, what's mine sound like?
00:16:56.799 --> 00:17:08.480
So it was interesting to notice that, and then also to inquire inside myself and request and you know, intend to like, I'd like to uncover what I sound like.
00:17:08.480 --> 00:17:11.440
And that happened, and it was kind of interesting.
00:17:11.440 --> 00:17:16.319
I'd be like, oh my gosh, that's not her, like that one's me.
00:17:16.319 --> 00:17:28.079
And so that's one of the ways I began to learn when I'm here and when she's here in my space, is by how I sound, because I have a unique sound anyway.
00:17:28.079 --> 00:17:38.160
So that was kind of a fun little discovery, but it's a way in which I work with people and I say, they'll say something about themselves and I'll be like, well, who told you that?
00:17:38.160 --> 00:17:42.559
And they immediately know exactly who told, and I'm like, Art, do you sound like them when you say it?
00:17:42.559 --> 00:17:44.000
They're like, mm, exactly.
00:17:44.000 --> 00:17:46.079
I'm like, mm-hmm, because it's not you.
00:17:46.079 --> 00:17:47.920
That's someone else in your space.
00:17:47.920 --> 00:17:50.960
You're talking to you as though it's them talking to you.
00:17:50.960 --> 00:17:52.880
That is not you talking to you.
00:17:53.119 --> 00:17:54.720
I hold both my hands up.
00:17:54.720 --> 00:17:56.559
I'm guilty, dead guilty.
00:17:56.559 --> 00:18:04.559
I was just saying something to my husband the other day about, oh my gosh, I sound, not only do I look like my mother, but I sound like her.
00:18:04.960 --> 00:18:06.000
Yes, yes.
00:18:06.000 --> 00:18:20.160
And that is not to say anything bad about sounding or having those qualities, but it is to notice that they're in your space and you're still engaged with them in those ways.
00:18:20.160 --> 00:18:29.440
And when it isn't comfortable or you wish it was different, there are tools to find your own and to let that go.
00:18:29.440 --> 00:18:31.039
And that is a part of the book.
00:18:31.039 --> 00:18:33.119
That's one of the things I found.
00:18:33.119 --> 00:18:44.160
The other thing that I discovered, so I really kind of wrote it from a little more of a an energetic, conscious, technical kind of perspective to get started.
00:18:44.160 --> 00:18:47.839
There's a lot of different ways to people learn.
00:18:47.839 --> 00:18:57.759
So there's creativity, there's poetry, there's characters, there's personal stories, there's reflections, there's artwork, there's all kinds of things in this book.
00:18:57.759 --> 00:19:00.000
And also quite a bit of meditations.
00:19:00.000 --> 00:19:06.400
And I kind of got to the end as I'm rereading it, and I thought, there's something missing.
00:19:06.400 --> 00:19:14.960
And that's a harder one to figure out when you write like what's not there, and what wasn't there was my own story of resilience.
00:19:14.960 --> 00:19:22.799
And I thought to myself, it's probably the most important part, but it didn't come until the whole structure was there.
00:19:22.799 --> 00:19:27.119
And then I went, oh, I have to put my own resilience story in there.
00:19:27.119 --> 00:19:32.160
And that was, well, then what's my most resilient story?
00:19:32.160 --> 00:19:57.119
And that was redefining and describing and writing about my most resilient moments in ways that were impactful to other people without triggering and honoring that the purpose of writing it is to say, I've lived this, I know this, because look what I have had to go through.
00:19:57.119 --> 00:20:02.000
And I wrote about an experience with my first husband, which you and I didn't talk about.
00:20:02.000 --> 00:20:10.160
It was a really, really challenging experience because he had experienced multiple losses.
00:20:10.160 --> 00:20:25.920
His grandmother, his best friend, his mother, a miscarriage, and they all were in a short period of time, and it was a lot for him, and he didn't have internal capacity to process it effectively.
00:20:25.920 --> 00:20:27.440
He didn't seek help.
00:20:27.440 --> 00:20:34.400
He turned to using substances and pulled away and isolated and so on and so forth.
00:20:34.400 --> 00:20:37.440
So it's very difficult to figure out what was going on.
00:20:37.440 --> 00:20:45.519
Um, but I eventually discovered, because it took a long time, that he was using methamphetamine in my household, under my nose.
00:20:45.519 --> 00:20:46.480
And I'm gone.
00:20:46.480 --> 00:20:48.000
I'm working, I'm, you know what I mean?
00:20:48.000 --> 00:20:49.279
I'm not there all the time.
00:20:49.279 --> 00:20:51.279
But I did start to figure it out.
00:20:51.279 --> 00:21:01.200
Ultimately, I had to find a way to keep myself and my son safe and remove him from the home in a way that was effective and nobody got hurt.
00:21:01.200 --> 00:21:03.519
And that was my act of true resilience.
00:21:03.519 --> 00:21:06.880
And I'm not gonna spill the beans on how that was because it's in the book.
00:21:06.880 --> 00:21:21.200
But recalling that and strong and resilient and intentional and patient that I was to make it through that and achieve no one being hurt, that physically hurt.
00:21:21.200 --> 00:21:23.759
Emotionally, it's hurtful for all of us.
00:21:23.759 --> 00:21:30.160
But physically, we all made it through that, okay, and can recover on our own terms.
00:21:30.160 --> 00:21:32.240
So, did I discover that?
00:21:32.240 --> 00:21:33.119
Yep.
00:21:33.119 --> 00:21:38.720
That one came a little later and it was probably meant to.
00:21:38.720 --> 00:21:44.160
It came probably right as it was meant to, as I was ready to include it in the book.
00:21:44.559 --> 00:21:49.759
Okay, I just want to ask a question because you just said you didn't want to trigger anyone.
00:21:49.759 --> 00:21:53.920
Were you talking about triggering yourself as you're writing it or triggering the readers?
00:21:54.480 --> 00:22:07.759
I'm talking about I intentionally wrote this book in a way that That it provides opportunities and clarity and energy and frequency and all kinds of things.
00:22:07.759 --> 00:22:23.759
But I was very mindful about how I shared my challenges so that I didn't intentionally put things in the book that could trigger someone that may not have the skills in the moment to know what to do with it.
00:22:23.759 --> 00:22:29.440
Because some of what I've been through, if other people were present, would be triggering.
00:22:29.440 --> 00:22:31.680
It was triggering, very triggering.
00:22:31.680 --> 00:22:48.720
So I tried to write it in a way that expressed that people could see that I was making choices that were important and here's why, and here's the impact, without just, you know, bah, just shouting it out, if that makes sense.
00:22:48.720 --> 00:22:49.039
Yes.
00:22:49.039 --> 00:22:50.799
I was thinking about the readers.
00:22:51.200 --> 00:22:51.599
Yeah.
00:22:51.599 --> 00:22:58.160
And do you think that having a mental health background like you do helped you to do that?
00:22:58.160 --> 00:23:04.720
Because, you know, I'm just thinking about most people who probably want to sit down and write a book about their experiences.
00:23:04.720 --> 00:23:08.319
They don't really necessarily think how it's triggering.
00:23:08.319 --> 00:23:17.440
And I say this now because I actually just got I'm just about to post something because I actually got triggered during a podcast and I had no idea it was coming.
00:23:17.440 --> 00:23:19.599
I could just feel it in my body coming up.
00:23:19.599 --> 00:23:21.920
And it was just so unexpected.
00:23:21.920 --> 00:23:24.000
But and it was unintentional.
00:23:24.000 --> 00:23:31.359
So I can imagine that when you're reading a book and you know that the book is about certain things, you know, how it's written.
00:23:31.359 --> 00:23:54.480
And I think maybe a lot of writers who are writing these types of books are writing about their experiences, but they're not coming from this type of professional mental health, well, maybe a spiritual background, but maybe not in the mental health aspects to be able to know that something that they are writing could be so triggering for somebody who may not be able to handle what they're reading.
00:23:54.720 --> 00:23:55.279
Yeah.
00:23:55.279 --> 00:23:56.960
And I'll say it this way.
00:23:56.960 --> 00:23:59.200
So there it is the mental health background.
00:23:59.200 --> 00:24:02.319
That is definitely a piece of it, decades worth of that.
00:24:02.319 --> 00:24:08.000
But also as an alchemist, I'm also aware of the way I impact people.
00:24:08.000 --> 00:24:12.240
I'm intentionally putting positive impacts into the world.
00:24:12.240 --> 00:24:26.319
So if I'm saying something that has a potential negative impact from an energy standpoint, I'm going to position that in a way that the positivity from it is what ripples, not the negativity from it.
00:24:26.319 --> 00:24:29.119
I can't completely control it because it's up to the reader.
00:24:29.119 --> 00:24:37.519
But the third thing I want to say, most writers I know read their own work with a different set of eyes through it.
00:24:37.519 --> 00:24:49.119
One of them is read it as though you're the reader, not the writer, the reader of your own book to discover how it comes across if you were reading it.
00:24:49.119 --> 00:24:55.440
It's not a simple thing to do, but you can choose which perspective to pick your book up with and learn about it.
00:24:55.440 --> 00:24:58.160
Are you in grammar and punctuation mode?
00:24:58.160 --> 00:24:59.039
Depends.
00:24:59.039 --> 00:25:05.359
I read it multiple different ways to understand how it might come across for multiple different people.
00:25:06.400 --> 00:25:11.200
And in addition, you also had test readers as well to give you feedback.
00:25:11.200 --> 00:25:13.279
And yeah, so in that case.
00:25:13.279 --> 00:25:15.440
Okay, that's wow, that's all really interesting.
00:25:15.440 --> 00:25:17.920
You don't think about that when you're writing this type of book.
00:25:17.920 --> 00:25:21.359
And what I also find interesting is you keep using the word alchemy.
00:25:21.359 --> 00:25:31.680
And when I think of alchemy, it my inner vision just sees energies mingling, be it through words or images or smell, touch, texture, or whatever.
00:25:31.680 --> 00:25:49.759
So when you're talking about how you are thinking about writing and how you're intentionally setting the space about how you want to write, you're looking at all these different energies that are going to be impacted and also mingling at the same time as somebody's reading.
00:25:50.079 --> 00:25:50.400
Yeah.
00:25:50.400 --> 00:26:04.640
It's I'm really very conscious and aware of sentences and paragraphs and particular words intentionally in how they carry energy.
00:26:04.640 --> 00:26:06.160
Words hold power.
00:26:06.160 --> 00:26:09.920
Don Miguel Ruiz, number one, be impeccable with your word.
00:26:09.920 --> 00:26:11.759
I was just thinking that.
00:26:11.759 --> 00:26:13.599
Get out of my head.
00:26:13.599 --> 00:26:32.720
Well, he's one of my all-time favorites, and I learned a lot focusing on my word in terms of choosing them carefully in my head and out of my mouth, and even the words that have the energies or power or impact.
00:26:32.720 --> 00:26:36.799
I'm aware of that and responsible for that.
00:26:36.799 --> 00:26:42.319
And so, and I intend a certain impact that is a positive ripple.
00:26:42.319 --> 00:26:48.720
So I'm always aware of that, unless I'm offline for some reason.
00:26:48.720 --> 00:26:53.119
But usually I'm pretty conscious and aware of all of those impacts.
00:26:53.440 --> 00:26:53.759
Yeah.
00:26:53.759 --> 00:26:54.160
Yeah.
00:26:54.160 --> 00:26:58.400
When I read that book, I remember thinking I knew all those things.
00:26:58.400 --> 00:27:00.480
I just needed to be reminded of it.
00:27:00.480 --> 00:27:16.000
And when you talk about words, one of the things that happened to me when I had that huge energetic opening, very physical opening that I had happened in Singapore was there's a very big, wonderful bookstore there called um Kinokuniya, which is a Japanese bookstore.
00:27:16.000 --> 00:27:24.720
And every time I would go in there after I had this big awakening, I would feel ill and I could not stay in there for very long.
00:27:24.720 --> 00:27:37.839
And I actually thought it was because there were so many different stories coming at me from all sorts of different languages in one small space, and I couldn't take it.
00:27:37.839 --> 00:27:44.640
And of course, no doubt enhanced by the fact that it had a bunch of old crystals they probably never cleaned or cleared in the middle of the store.
00:27:44.640 --> 00:27:49.759
So yeah, I always really felt like, oh my gosh, I can't.
00:27:49.759 --> 00:28:00.079
And that went on for so many months because I just couldn't, and I really, really felt that it was the energy in the books that was being carried that I was picking up on.
00:28:00.079 --> 00:28:00.880
It was too much.
00:28:01.759 --> 00:28:03.839
I firmly believe books carry energy.
00:28:03.839 --> 00:28:06.160
I firmly believe my book carries energy.
00:28:06.160 --> 00:28:07.039
Absolutely.
00:28:07.039 --> 00:28:08.799
And I intend for it to.
00:28:08.799 --> 00:28:10.400
That's the purpose.
00:28:10.799 --> 00:28:16.799
Yeah, and that's interesting that people don't think that when they write a book that it's actually carrying energy.
00:28:16.799 --> 00:28:18.559
That's something for listeners to think about.
00:28:18.559 --> 00:28:21.119
If you're thinking about writing a book, your words carry energy.
00:28:21.119 --> 00:28:22.319
Your books carry energy.
00:28:22.319 --> 00:28:25.119
The image you choose carries energy, energy, everything.
00:28:25.839 --> 00:28:26.319
Yes.
00:28:26.319 --> 00:28:29.200
Yeah, and you can see the image behind me, right?
00:28:29.200 --> 00:28:32.400
I know it has a little eye, but that's my book right behind me.
00:28:32.640 --> 00:28:34.400
Yeah, why did you choose this image?
00:28:34.400 --> 00:28:36.240
It looks like a woman in red.
00:28:36.240 --> 00:28:38.000
Why did you choose this image?
00:28:38.319 --> 00:28:39.839
Yeah, well, a few things.
00:28:39.839 --> 00:29:02.400
I wanted to show someone who has some confidence and walking down a path that is of her choosing even the colors that align in her world and in a forest, in nature, in trees with the sunlight coming through, an image of I'm going down this path and I can I got it.
00:29:02.400 --> 00:29:03.359
I can do this.
00:29:03.359 --> 00:29:04.319
I'm capable.
00:29:04.319 --> 00:29:06.240
Yeah, that's the image.
00:29:06.240 --> 00:29:08.559
The back of the book looks like this.
00:29:08.559 --> 00:29:12.160
She's sitting on a rock overlooking water.
00:29:12.160 --> 00:29:13.279
Yeah, yeah.
00:29:13.279 --> 00:29:13.920
Exactly.
00:29:13.920 --> 00:29:19.039
Because in order to get here, you need some of this time.
00:29:19.039 --> 00:29:22.160
That's the reflective time, right?
00:29:22.160 --> 00:29:26.960
To find that inner voice and then walk down your path.
00:29:27.279 --> 00:29:33.680
Yeah, I'll tell you what came to mind when I saw that imagery was Little Red Riding Hood, because you always have this image.
00:29:33.680 --> 00:29:39.920
But she's going into the forest and she goes, she meets all these different types of things, but she comes out of it.
00:29:39.920 --> 00:29:42.000
She still comes out of it on the other side.
00:29:42.240 --> 00:29:42.640
Yep.
00:29:42.640 --> 00:29:43.119
Yep.
00:29:43.359 --> 00:29:46.000
That's what I kind of thought when I saw the image on the book.
00:29:46.000 --> 00:29:47.200
I thought, oh, okay.
00:29:47.200 --> 00:29:52.400
So it's somebody going into the wood, not knowing, and coming out the other side.
00:29:52.400 --> 00:29:55.119
That's anyway, that's how it played with my mental imagery.
00:29:55.599 --> 00:29:56.240
No, yeah.
00:29:56.240 --> 00:29:57.759
I've heard that one before too.
00:29:57.759 --> 00:29:58.559
Absolutely.
00:29:58.799 --> 00:29:59.359
Oh, okay.
00:29:59.359 --> 00:30:00.160
Okay, good.
00:30:00.160 --> 00:30:00.799
All right.
00:30:00.799 --> 00:30:04.240
So are you going to read us a passage from this book?
00:30:04.559 --> 00:30:05.839
I would love to.
00:30:05.839 --> 00:30:11.839
So what I wanted to read was something personal because I include reflections throughout the book.
00:30:11.839 --> 00:30:14.559
So this is reflections on inspiration.
00:30:14.559 --> 00:30:23.759
I know firsthand how important resilience is to my well being and my ability to care for others at home and on the job.
00:30:23.759 --> 00:30:37.279
Like you, I've been through a lot repeating uncomfortable experiences the hard way to understand their wisdom, engaging my resilience first to survive and later to thrive.
00:30:37.279 --> 00:30:43.119
I've been noticing inspiration to help me shift circumstances since I was a child.
00:30:43.119 --> 00:30:46.480
Children know things they can't communicate yet.
00:30:46.480 --> 00:30:48.880
Imagination leads the way.
00:30:48.880 --> 00:30:55.519
When they find the words, they often tell truths that adults are not ready to hear.
00:30:55.519 --> 00:31:02.400
I've heard inspiration urging me to grow, change, and express myself differently throughout my life.
00:31:02.400 --> 00:31:07.039
I've experienced many versions of me along the way.
00:31:07.039 --> 00:31:16.799
New strategies, tools, inspirations, and connections aligned at precisely the moment they were supposed to.
00:31:16.799 --> 00:31:28.240
They always came back around repeatedly until I understood their wisdom.
00:31:28.240 --> 00:31:36.720
Being conscious is a different perspective to live within, and wisdom is revealed in vast forms.
00:31:36.720 --> 00:31:40.400
I seek wisdom without expectation.
00:31:40.400 --> 00:31:46.960
I receive it without knowing what it means, where it comes from or why it is here.
00:31:46.960 --> 00:31:53.759
I intentionally allow my thoughts and memories to show me their wisdom and connections.
00:31:53.759 --> 00:32:00.480
I ask intentional questions to discover and form who I am and who I am becoming.
00:32:00.480 --> 00:32:08.640
I've explored my multidimensional experiences to know the possibilities and more that is out there.
00:32:08.640 --> 00:32:27.680
When I tell you that I am grateful to know my intuition, notice threads of inspiration, and creatively engage with my resilience, I'm telling you my truths, what I intend, and allow the release of what no longer aligns with who I am.
00:32:27.680 --> 00:32:37.680
My wisdom and resilience aligns and expands as I do in higher vibrations, energies, and consciousness.
00:32:37.680 --> 00:32:46.240
I choose my experiences consciously flowing as they involve in fascinating and exciting ways.
00:32:46.240 --> 00:33:01.279
It's through experience that I've mastered resilience, both big and small opportunities to peel back my layers and unraveling them that led me to know resilience.
00:33:01.759 --> 00:33:03.440
And it's interesting what you're saying.
00:33:03.440 --> 00:33:19.759
It's almost like wisdom is ebbing and flowing all the time, and it's not always trying to manically understand whatever that wisdom, those thoughts, whatever consciousness comes to you, but to flow with it until it makes more sense.
00:33:19.759 --> 00:33:21.279
Did I get that right?
00:33:21.759 --> 00:33:25.039
I think you did get that right because that is how our life is.
00:33:25.039 --> 00:33:26.480
It's everywhere.
00:33:26.480 --> 00:33:28.559
Until we go, aha.
00:33:28.559 --> 00:33:30.960
There's something interesting.
00:33:30.960 --> 00:33:32.799
I'm gonna sit with that now.
00:33:32.799 --> 00:33:34.000
Where does that go?
00:33:34.000 --> 00:33:35.359
Where does that lead?
00:33:35.359 --> 00:33:44.559
Part of it is being quiet enough and present enough and aware enough to notice our own wisdom and all the wisdom around us.
00:33:44.559 --> 00:33:45.200
Yeah.
00:33:45.200 --> 00:33:46.480
Infinitely flowing.
00:33:46.799 --> 00:33:58.079
That passage sounded very grounded to me, and I say grounded because sometimes people who think about energy or working with spirituality, they think it's quite woo.
00:33:58.079 --> 00:34:09.360
And so I'd like you to actually talk about because I know on your website you do talk about third dimension and fifth dimension, and we won't get into that here because that's a whole nother podcast.
00:34:09.679 --> 00:34:10.239
Happy to come back to the show.
00:34:10.400 --> 00:34:17.039
I'm sure that there Yeah, that there are possibly elements of that that are going to be in these 11 books.
00:34:17.039 --> 00:34:25.440
So how could you explain to somebody who is thinking about reading this book who wants something grounded but not woo?
00:34:25.920 --> 00:34:33.760
Well, here's what I would say, and it's, you know, people are attracted to particular books because there's something in there for them.
00:34:33.760 --> 00:34:40.239
I sometimes pick up books and I find the thing that grabbed my attention right away, and that's all I need.
00:34:40.239 --> 00:34:50.639
I don't even finish it because I've already got, like, oh, there was a reason I picked that book up because I just read this paragraph and it led me to the next thing, and amazing.
00:34:50.639 --> 00:34:59.199
I've read books where I go cover to cover because it keeps my attention and there's something for me in that book.
00:34:59.199 --> 00:35:04.800
And in that process, I might find excerpts that I go, uh, that kind of doesn't really fit with me.
00:35:04.800 --> 00:35:09.119
Like, I'm not I 90% of this really fits for me.
00:35:09.119 --> 00:35:11.119
10%, not so much.
00:35:11.119 --> 00:35:12.800
I personally I just let it go.
00:35:12.800 --> 00:35:19.519
Books aren't meant to convince you to believe something you don't or don't want to.
00:35:19.519 --> 00:35:23.840
They're meant to give you a way to reflect about yourself.
00:35:23.840 --> 00:35:25.199
Mine is.
00:35:25.199 --> 00:35:34.239
Reflect about yourself and make your own choices about what you choose to believe and want to have build and create in your life.
00:35:34.239 --> 00:35:37.039
So if it feels good to you, go with it.
00:35:37.039 --> 00:35:39.280
If it doesn't, no problem.
00:35:39.280 --> 00:35:40.400
Let it go.
00:35:40.400 --> 00:35:41.760
That's what I would say.
00:35:42.079 --> 00:35:47.519
And I would imagine that different chapters might appeal to some people more than other chapters.
00:35:47.519 --> 00:35:48.079
Yes.
00:35:48.079 --> 00:35:51.039
Or other books, excuse me, other books in the series.
00:35:51.039 --> 00:35:56.880
So book 11 might be more appealing to somebody than maybe the first book was for whatever reason.
00:35:57.599 --> 00:36:04.079
Yeah, it's sort of like if we think of ourselves as very layered, the books are very layered.
00:36:04.079 --> 00:36:08.320
So I have friends that have been engaged in enemy energy work.
00:36:08.320 --> 00:36:14.079
In fact, Jim Self gave me a review for this book, and he's been in the field for 30 years.
00:36:14.079 --> 00:36:20.960
And his feedback was that this provided clarity in terms of walking that present moment path.
00:36:20.960 --> 00:36:28.000
So there might be people with a lot of experience that some of these messages still provide new clarity around.
00:36:28.000 --> 00:36:30.400
And that could happen in any chapter.
00:36:30.400 --> 00:36:36.320
So it's all individual, and you know, that's that's the beauty of life.
00:36:36.320 --> 00:36:38.239
Everything's individual.
00:36:38.239 --> 00:36:44.000
So you're drawn where you're drawn for reasons that make sense to you, and that's perfect.
00:36:44.000 --> 00:36:48.960
You get to be you, uniquely you, your energy, your way.
00:36:49.599 --> 00:36:50.159
All right.
00:36:50.159 --> 00:36:55.360
So what type of audience do you think would appreciate this book the most?
00:36:55.679 --> 00:37:14.079
You know, I really wrote it for individuals who might be experiencing feeling stuck or like there's so much disturbance and distraction in the world that lives are disrupted and kind of turned upside down and people don't know the next step to take.
00:37:14.079 --> 00:37:26.559
I wrote it for displaced individuals that maybe don't even have a place to call home anymore because life changes and then you really lose your inner home.
00:37:26.559 --> 00:37:29.840
I wrote it for people who don't hear their own inner voice anymore.
00:37:29.840 --> 00:37:33.280
They've lost it, and they're like, I want to get back to being me.
00:37:33.280 --> 00:37:34.639
I want to find me.
00:37:34.639 --> 00:37:57.840
So it lends itself to a lot of different readers, a lot of different ages from a lot of different places that want a discovery and a journey of how to step into their own awareness and create what they truly want and be able to sort of hear their own inner wisdom in the process.
00:37:57.840 --> 00:38:02.559
And as you know, because we've talked about it, the book has become a course.
00:38:02.559 --> 00:38:18.719
So for some that want a little more personalized process, then I also have the virtual global course that takes these concepts and breaks them down a little to support people individually, being able to kind of go, got it.
00:38:18.719 --> 00:38:24.239
Like I get something new and different, learning it in a small group process.
00:38:24.239 --> 00:38:25.920
So that's the purpose.
00:38:25.920 --> 00:38:31.920
And each book will have a course so that I'm able to have a small group.
00:38:31.920 --> 00:38:35.679
For some, they reach out and want to do one-to-one, and that's fine as well.
00:38:35.679 --> 00:38:41.599
And it's it's all for people looking for transformation, change, how to step into their own consciousness.
00:38:41.599 --> 00:38:49.119
And or if they're on that, like you mentioned, if they're like, what is this third-dimensional thing in this 5D, fifth-dimensional, like what is that?
00:38:49.119 --> 00:38:58.000
There's elements of that in this book as well, which is uh some of my favorite part because it's happening whether we're aware of it or engaged in it or not.
00:38:58.320 --> 00:38:58.639
Okay.
00:38:58.639 --> 00:39:07.440
You said that you had tools in the book as well, so that for because the book is a narrative, but it's also taking introducing concepts as well.
00:39:07.449 --> 00:39:07.679
Yes.
00:39:08.159 --> 00:39:12.480
Then are you giving exercises and tools to the reader as well?
00:39:12.880 --> 00:39:13.199
Yes.
00:39:13.199 --> 00:39:21.440
There are creative exercises throughout the book that allows a reader to choose their method of creativity.
00:39:21.440 --> 00:39:34.159
It engages imagination, it engages curiosity, it engages visualizing for people that are visual, it engages writing exercises where people are interested.
00:39:34.159 --> 00:39:38.559
It engages some of the energy alchemy exercises.
00:39:38.559 --> 00:39:51.679
So there's a variety of options, including meditations, that help a person discover their what works best for them to kind of check in with themselves and become conscious.
00:39:51.679 --> 00:39:54.559
And once they do, like what do you learn in there?
00:39:54.559 --> 00:39:55.920
And what do you do with it?
00:39:56.239 --> 00:40:01.039
Do you happen to have another little segment to read for us that might give a sample effect?
00:40:01.599 --> 00:40:02.639
Let's find one.
00:40:02.639 --> 00:40:04.639
We'll see where it opens.
00:40:04.639 --> 00:40:09.920
I'll try this one because it's really applicable right now.
00:40:09.920 --> 00:40:13.199
So this one is about decision making.
00:40:13.199 --> 00:40:19.920
What it calls the reader to do is imagine what neutral feels like.
00:40:19.920 --> 00:40:30.800
And so, even right now, while we're together, I'll just say like, if you were to feel neutral for a moment, like in your body, in your mind, what does neutral feel like?
00:40:30.800 --> 00:40:45.199
And what's so useful about it is that it's not right or wrong, it's not good or bad, it's just kind of right in the middle, not super heightened, not low, just right here.
00:40:45.199 --> 00:40:49.360
It's non-judgmental, it's not opinionated.
00:40:49.360 --> 00:41:04.719
So from neutral, things open up because you don't have all the emotional distraction, you don't have all the mental distraction, you are not judging things and forming opinions, you're just observing.
00:41:04.719 --> 00:41:08.639
Like, oh, well, that's what's happening over there right now.
00:41:08.639 --> 00:41:14.159
Generally, if it's over there, it's not about me, it's about other people doing whatever they're doing.
00:41:14.159 --> 00:41:22.559
From neutral and observing, I can then choose how I want to engage or not engage in what's happening.
00:41:22.559 --> 00:41:29.039
So the exercise is to flow in an energetic state that supports an intention.
00:41:29.039 --> 00:41:45.599
So you recall neutral to get started, and then what is the decision that you're wishing to explore using neutral to just observe the various ways you could make a decision about something.
00:41:45.599 --> 00:41:52.000
And you get comfortable in the flow state and consider the various elements to your decisions.
00:41:52.000 --> 00:42:01.840
Now, as you're considering them from a neutral place, you might have a moment of clarity where there's like a, oh my gosh, I never thought about that.
00:42:01.840 --> 00:42:06.480
That feels really good, that decision and how that might work.
00:42:06.480 --> 00:42:17.280
So you engage and ask another question and neutrally listen to and consider the outcome or the perspective or the impact of that decision.
00:42:17.280 --> 00:42:24.800
And recall capabilities that enable you to achieve the outcome that you seek from your intention.
00:42:24.800 --> 00:42:38.159
So it's just a little process to consider how to get neutral with your intentions and help you make a decision about whatever it is you might have to be, you might want to make a decision about.
00:42:38.159 --> 00:42:41.599
And that's just one of the exercises that's in there.
00:42:41.599 --> 00:42:42.960
There's a lot of them.
00:42:42.960 --> 00:42:48.880
But decision making right now for individuals can get really complicated.
00:42:48.880 --> 00:42:52.079
There's a lot to consider and other people and all that.
00:42:52.079 --> 00:43:00.159
And when we had this conversation about neutral, I could tell that it was sort of pulling me into my space.
00:43:00.159 --> 00:43:04.639
Neutral, hear me, not all the other things.
00:43:04.639 --> 00:43:07.920
From neutral, like, what could I do about this?
00:43:07.920 --> 00:43:13.519
And as I explore that, like, where does it feel like, yeah, that's a good idea?
00:43:13.519 --> 00:43:16.079
And where is it like, yeah, no, let those go.
00:43:16.079 --> 00:43:18.239
Anything not aligned, let it go.
00:43:18.239 --> 00:43:23.920
So I'm adding now here, just as a description of how that process works for people.
00:43:23.920 --> 00:43:41.119
And as someone who works with individuals a lot, I can't tell you how many times this week alone I've taught the skill of neutral to people whose anxiety is through the roof, their overwhelm is through the roof through the roof, they can't figure out where to even get started.
00:43:41.119 --> 00:43:46.239
They certainly can't hear their inner voice through all that noise and confusion.
00:43:46.239 --> 00:43:52.719
And helping them get to neutral, it was like they felt relief in that moment.
00:43:52.719 --> 00:43:56.079
And the decision might be you know what, I don't have to do anything.
00:43:56.079 --> 00:43:58.480
I can just feel relief for a little bit.
00:43:58.480 --> 00:43:59.760
And that feels good.
00:44:00.880 --> 00:44:02.559
Yep, I can agree with that.
00:44:02.559 --> 00:44:03.440
Definitely.
00:44:03.440 --> 00:44:10.320
And because everybody decision making is such a every day, every minute, every moment, part of our life almost.
00:44:10.320 --> 00:44:11.360
Do we turn left?
00:44:11.360 --> 00:44:12.320
Do we turn right?
00:44:12.320 --> 00:44:13.679
It's ridiculous.
00:44:13.679 --> 00:44:18.000
When I go walk in the forest, I'm like, okay, do I take this path or do I take this path?
00:44:18.000 --> 00:44:21.360
And then I just let I finally end up just letting my body decide.
00:44:21.679 --> 00:44:21.920
Yeah.
00:44:21.920 --> 00:44:27.440
And in some cases, that's such a lovely place to be, because you can't really make a wrong decision.
00:44:27.440 --> 00:44:34.559
And I'm suggesting that neutral is a place where, you know, you actually the decision can be just don't decide anything for a minute.
00:44:34.559 --> 00:44:35.119
Yeah.
00:44:35.119 --> 00:44:37.440
Just get in touch with yourself from neutral.
00:44:37.440 --> 00:44:38.719
Don't judge yourself.
00:44:38.719 --> 00:44:40.239
Don't beat yourself up.
00:44:40.239 --> 00:44:42.000
Don't second guess yourself.
00:44:42.000 --> 00:44:44.880
Like right now in this moment, everything's okay.
00:44:45.199 --> 00:44:55.440
I would imagine that some of these ideas and tools and concept that you are putting into this book may be a bit hard for some people to swallow just because it's just not what they're used to.
00:44:55.440 --> 00:45:09.039
Like, like you just said, the type of clients that you've been working with and seeing that they live in a constant state of anxiety that they don't even know that there is that possibility to even be a different way.
00:45:09.440 --> 00:45:09.920
Right.
00:45:09.920 --> 00:45:23.679
And what's interesting about it is in a 15-minute conversation of meeting somebody new and then having them practice this with me in a session and having them go, oh, I feel that.
00:45:23.679 --> 00:45:24.800
Like, yep.
00:45:24.800 --> 00:45:42.719
In the course of a 45-minute session, we'll return to that four or five times so that by the end of the session, they can recognize, A, how much better they feel when they do that, or in general, how much better they feel at the end of the session than the beginning of the session.
00:45:42.719 --> 00:45:45.599
And secondly, that we build a reference.
00:45:45.599 --> 00:45:55.519
We build a way for the practice of it is to practice it so that when you really need it, it's like, oh, neutral would feel much better than this right now.
00:45:55.519 --> 00:45:57.199
Whoop, take a breath.
00:45:57.199 --> 00:45:58.960
Okay, neutral.
00:45:58.960 --> 00:46:01.840
I'm not sure what to do from here, but this feels better.
00:46:01.840 --> 00:46:03.280
And I'm happy with that.
00:46:03.280 --> 00:46:07.840
Step one it's effective and quick to build the practice.
00:46:07.840 --> 00:46:09.119
But you're right, it's different.
00:46:09.119 --> 00:46:15.280
Not necessarily what you would think of, but it's like, oh, that's so helpful so quickly for people.
00:46:15.280 --> 00:46:17.119
One of the reasons I start there.
00:46:17.599 --> 00:46:20.079
So what is this other book that you have co-authored?
00:46:20.079 --> 00:46:21.760
Is it in a similar vein?
00:46:22.320 --> 00:46:25.920
Well, it is, and I'll help explain why.
00:46:25.920 --> 00:46:32.960
So it's with Soul Sparks Press, and it's called She Found Her Superpower.
00:46:32.960 --> 00:46:37.440
Seven Women, Seven Divorces, Seven Superpowers.
00:46:37.440 --> 00:46:53.119
So each of us write a different chapter in the book about our experience of divorce and how going through that process led us to find our superpower that made us stronger.
00:46:53.119 --> 00:46:57.360
It didn't break us down, we didn't collapse.
00:46:57.360 --> 00:47:03.760
We actually found ways to move forward that feel better than where we were.
00:47:03.760 --> 00:47:13.599
And in many cases, we were just able to recognize what no longer aligned and needed and was done or needed to be done or finished or completed.
00:47:13.599 --> 00:47:15.199
And then there's more.
00:47:15.199 --> 00:47:17.199
And then the story goes on.
00:47:17.199 --> 00:47:34.159
And for me, my chapter, as you can imagine, was about finding myself in an unconscious marriage and working toward consciousness in a way that impacted my marriage.
00:47:34.159 --> 00:47:35.920
And that's the story.
00:47:35.920 --> 00:47:45.039
That's my chapter, is about how becoming conscious impacted my marriage and what shifted and how, and a little bit of why.
00:47:45.360 --> 00:47:47.679
And when is that book supposed to come out?
00:47:47.679 --> 00:47:48.880
You said December?
00:47:49.199 --> 00:47:52.480
Yeah, December 2nd is the current target date.
00:47:52.480 --> 00:47:59.440
And it's in it was intended to support people, women or men, that have relationship challenges.
00:47:59.440 --> 00:48:12.639
It doesn't have to be just divorce and marriage, but in general, relationship challenges and how a person's experience of that shifts in whatever way it does and how to explore what that is.
00:48:12.639 --> 00:48:21.039
You don't have to fall apart, even though you might a little, you'll still come back together and move forward stronger.
00:48:21.039 --> 00:48:22.880
There's that opportunity.
00:48:22.880 --> 00:48:25.599
So we wrote it specific for that in mind.
00:48:25.920 --> 00:48:27.840
Where can we get these two books?
00:48:27.840 --> 00:48:36.559
All right, so one has already been out for a little while, and you said the second book in the series will be coming out in the beginning of 2026.
00:48:36.559 --> 00:48:44.000
Let's note that this podcast is being recorded in 2025, but it will be released in 2026.
00:48:44.639 --> 00:48:52.079
My current book, Resilience, is on Amazon, Kindle, Apple Books, and it's sold in most of the major bookstores that you can find.
00:48:52.079 --> 00:48:59.920
I'm certain that when the future books come out, my own and the collaborative book, same is going to be true about those.
00:48:59.920 --> 00:49:10.719
You can also go to my link tree, which is Michelle Wincell O'Leary, all my links, all my books, all my podcasts, all in one place, right there.
00:49:10.719 --> 00:49:13.440
You can go to my website and get to it from there.
00:49:13.440 --> 00:49:19.679
And I also um have links to it on my Instagram and Facebook accounts and LinkedIn accounts too.
00:49:19.920 --> 00:49:20.719
Okay, great.
00:49:20.719 --> 00:49:23.360
So those will definitely all be in the show notes.
00:49:23.360 --> 00:49:31.119
So one last thing I want to ask you is what is the key takeaway that you want people to have after reading this book?
00:49:31.360 --> 00:49:35.440
Yeah, there's a saying, there's a few different sayings that I use through the book quite a bit.
00:49:35.440 --> 00:49:37.519
And one is you got this.
00:49:37.519 --> 00:49:40.719
You're capable, and you can do it.
00:49:40.719 --> 00:49:45.599
All you have to do is believe in yourself, right?
00:49:45.599 --> 00:49:50.320
And put some skills in place for yourself that allow you to hear yourself.
00:49:50.320 --> 00:49:54.000
But ultimately, you got this and you can.
00:49:54.000 --> 00:49:55.360
Yes, you can.
00:49:55.840 --> 00:49:56.800
Fantastic.
00:49:56.800 --> 00:50:05.360
I'm looking forward to seeing when the other book comes out because you said that you are going to be doing a lot of, I guess, readings as well and promotions for that book.
00:50:05.360 --> 00:50:09.440
Will you also be doing the same with each book that comes out in the series?
00:50:09.760 --> 00:50:10.239
Absolutely.
00:50:10.480 --> 00:50:13.280
So that's going right into your traveling time as well.
00:50:13.519 --> 00:50:15.760
So Yeah, absolutely true.
00:50:15.760 --> 00:50:23.679
And I tend to on my Instagram, I will randomly do readings and just post them for my books.
00:50:23.679 --> 00:50:29.920
And I'll do live events where I do readings and just talk about all kinds of fun things right on Instagram Live as well.
00:50:30.239 --> 00:50:30.559
Okay.
00:50:30.559 --> 00:50:34.960
And so is there anything final that you'd like to say before we close out?
00:50:35.440 --> 00:50:49.039
Well, I thought of one other thing that I would say, in that a recent discovery that I had was that I would start to use my license again as a therapist and as a coach differently than I have been doing.
00:50:49.039 --> 00:50:54.400
And so uh I'm now available on betterhelp.com, Michelle Wincell O'Leary.
00:50:54.400 --> 00:51:03.039
And so I just wanted to a quick shout out for betterhelp.com because it's such a great platform.
00:51:03.039 --> 00:51:17.440
You literally can hop online and fill a few questions out about what you're looking for and be matched up with someone with a license and experience and expertise that aligns with what you're asking for.
00:51:17.440 --> 00:51:19.119
And it's so simple.
00:51:19.119 --> 00:51:28.719
You can, and there's also like journals and assessments and tools and worksheets, all and and groups and classes, like all right in this platform.
00:51:28.719 --> 00:51:31.039
I I found it absolutely fascinating.
00:51:31.039 --> 00:51:35.360
And I'm having a lovely experience uh on betterhelp.com.
00:51:35.360 --> 00:51:41.360
So A, you can find me there, and B, it's a great resource that's very simple that you can hop online.
00:51:41.360 --> 00:51:44.960
They also have resources for individuals that can't afford to pay.
00:51:44.960 --> 00:51:50.079
So I just want to shout out for them because it's uh it's it's really phenomenal.
00:51:50.400 --> 00:51:54.239
Okay, and is that only targeted at the United States or is that international?
00:51:54.639 --> 00:51:54.960
Yeah.
00:51:55.199 --> 00:51:56.159
It's international.
00:51:56.159 --> 00:51:56.800
Okay.
00:51:56.800 --> 00:52:02.079
So they could actually point you to somebody who's in your country, in your area.
00:52:02.079 --> 00:52:03.599
Wow, that is good.
00:52:03.599 --> 00:52:04.079
Okay.
00:52:04.320 --> 00:52:04.559
Yes.
00:52:04.719 --> 00:52:05.920
That's nice to know.
00:52:05.920 --> 00:52:15.280
Well, I wish you very, very well on your travels and hope that you find more and more inspiration and continue writing as you have been.
00:52:15.280 --> 00:52:24.559
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and your feelings and thoughts, ideas, your wisdom to our listeners.
00:52:24.559 --> 00:52:26.000
I really appreciate that.
00:52:26.000 --> 00:52:26.719
Thank you.
00:52:27.039 --> 00:52:28.239
Oh, thank you so much.
00:52:28.239 --> 00:52:30.480
It's been so lovely to sit with you.
00:52:30.480 --> 00:52:36.639
You are just such do such a great job offering what you offer, and it's so comfortable to speak with you.
00:52:36.639 --> 00:52:42.800

00:52:42.800 --> 00:52:46.559
And so just thank you and thank everyone for listening.
00:52:46.559 --> 00:52:48.960
And I wish everyone absolutely the best.
00:52:48.960 --> 00:52:50.480
And you got this.
00:52:51.039 --> 00:52:52.159
Okay, everybody.
00:52:52.159 --> 00:52:57.039
