speaker-2: SOOOO
speaker-3: Already seven ⁓
speaker-1: Episode 7.
speaker-0: We're already at seven, sorry Finder. This is going to go a lot longer than you thought. And that we thought too. deal with it, because it's still fun. three-fold what was your- Dude, I have learned my lesson, Kevin. And I do not set targets anymore.
speaker-1: digital target time I do not set targets at all. I know, you guys used to pick on me all the time for unknown treasures, so...
speaker-0: Yeah.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: Yeah, that's my first time ever. So, yeah, time. Not only was it your first time ever jamming, it was also your first time. like you're the you're the next first GM after me. So it's just like, you know, the mistake is like entirely yours. So it's just it's just a tough position to be in. know, I don't know.
speaker-0: Yeah, I mean, it's really it's really the hubris that you had, you know, that's the issue here, you know.
speaker-1: It's your I don't think I really died on that hill though. I I've slowed down that one pretty
speaker-0: You didn't die on the hill, but you sure leaned on that after the fact for a long time. know, like, oh, well, first time to you, I know it's gonna be 13 episodes. One could say you coasted down that hill like on sled. By episode 45, we know that you missed the 13 or the 12 episode count. You know what mean? Like, we're already accepted at that point, you know?
speaker-2: Yeah
speaker-3: Thanks.
speaker-0: But you just, you know, you don't know until you know. And like, you know, you, you read it and you're like, okay, I think that this will take this amount of time. This will take this amount of time. And it's, it's always longer than you think. But I will say, Kevin, you had played with this particular group of individuals for quite some time before you started that.
speaker-1: I think I it worse.
speaker-0: Well, you should have had an idea that it would have taken longer than it did, you know? Right, right.
speaker-3: You know, yeah, yeah, this is true. However, I think that because that that show had the time to cook that it did, it ended up being what it was for that reason.
speaker-0: There's zero problem. There's zero problem. I am letting this go. I'm just not giving you an expected time to delivery because I'm smart. No, to promise something that I can't deliver. Adam's like the door dash driver who's actually. It'll be 10 minutes from now. 10 minutes from now. Your food is on the way. It's 10 minutes from now.
speaker-1: with a show cook. You're still gonna bra, this is sushi.
speaker-2: like.
speaker-1: He has turned off the tracking of the little car. You can't see what's happening. You don't know.
speaker-2: Three days.
speaker-0: So... That's a pro word. Yeah.
speaker-2: problem
speaker-3: Since you're gonna be with us for the next year or whatever, just wanna welcome you to the hotel and let you into our stock plan.
speaker-2: You
speaker-0: Actually. I mean, we are five months into this, right? Jesus. Are we? I think so. Did we start in October?
speaker-3: Yes. ⁓
speaker-1: We started in October. We took a break ⁓ over the holidays because that's good. Yeah, here's
speaker-0: thing about time though John is that it keeps on going even if we take a break. Not for well. Well yeah there's always an exception I suppose. The thing is to Kelly's point an adventure takes as long as the adventure takes you know. And I think that Junker's Delight was awesome.
speaker-1: nebulae.
speaker-3: We'll fix it.
speaker-0: Because and because it was long you're not not because it was long but because it was long it had enough time to get awesome You know I'm saying ⁓ and You know, I you did a really good longer show so it's more awesome. ⁓ this is my realistic ⁓ assessment of what we're already in. The situation that we already find ourselves in, that this was meant to be a short little, too short adventure back to back and we spent... three episodes in the marketplace like we would be at society play in real life like if we were going to a Game shop and we're because you're supposed to be able to do this whole adventure in three to four hours. That's crazy
speaker-1: never played a society game, but I'm sure they would be irritated if I was like, no, let's go talk to this person again.
speaker-0: Yeah, I think in society we've done that
speaker-2: Yeah, I think we have.
speaker-0: I think in a society game too, there is, it's, there's less familiarity of the players around the table. So there might be less like digging into some of that RP. And I think that a good society GM, for the sake of society would not role play all these great merchants. that were there. They'd be like, all right, here's the merchant, roll the dice to get this information. You you just kind of move through it as a skill check situation rather than opportunity for RP and all that kind of stuff. I don't know. I've never really done a, you know, in the game store session. Same. ⁓ I like the index and crannies. Same.
speaker-1: that. ⁓
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: And it shows because I'll take that little soft window there and say that you did do some great role play with some great NPCs out. So it's fantastic. So it helps. It's helped building out the world. I think it did from some feedback that we've gotten.
speaker-0: That we're with listening. Yeah From I mean, yeah, we've only two episodes are out at time of this recording and correct They haven't even got to the good stuff yet. You know, I mean, so like I said, Yeah. Yeah Yeah, if you're listening to this you've already heard the good stuff it's all downhill from here
speaker-2: That's good Yeah, exactly.
speaker-1: Slap our way to episode 52.
speaker-0: I hope you enjoyed episodes three through six, because that was the peak of Will Strange. Never to be achieved again. Who wants to try their hand at a recap of where we are? Because it has been some time. I'll do it. But I got to hear a full shot of hero point. Just get us to where we are. I don't need like every single detail.
speaker-3: This is all downhill.
speaker-2: That's a piece of cake.
speaker-0: I'll tell you what, I'll decide how good your recap is by either giving you a hero point. I won't take one away. I won't take one away.
speaker-1: Or taking one away?
speaker-0: Okay, no takers. I mean, yeah, I could give you a 10 second recap. All right, it could make it count. We went to the site of our future Pathfinder Society spot. We met a genie who put us on a mission. We went to a marketplace. poisoned and ruined a... or no, we didn't poison, but we ruined a guest's reputation.
speaker-2: You
speaker-0: And now we're trying to send her a ship after killing some goblins and cook in the kitchen. Right. And freeing the prisoners and they're still, that's pretty good. I'll give you a hero point. Well, that was pretty succinct. And, I think you did good enough to earn yourself. probably longer than 10 seconds. But not much longer than 10 seconds. I think you're around 17 seconds. yeah. The main thing is that there are passengers aboard. this ship that you're trying to free. They were kidnapped or, you know, press ganged. ⁓ The ship was sinking because of a ship to ship combat that happened between this ship and the ship of the people who they captured. And they were using the prisoners to bail out the water. Well, you've freed the prisoners. So now this ship is slowly sinking because there's nobody bailing out water. But you know that there's one VIP prisoner still aboard that wasn't with you.
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: with these other ones that is somewhere on the upper deck, which is where you are now. And you've explored the whole ship. So you assume that where you're about to go into is the captain's quarters of the ship to find this other person. His name is Ganthor. Yeah, that's correct. Ganthor the dwarf and get him out and then kill the captain. And then you're supposed to burn the ship on your way out. Yeah, yeah.
speaker-1: And we already rigged the center area with the gunpowder.
speaker-0: That's it. The real decision that you guys will have to make after fighting the captain is do you tell the cook or not? But we'll get to that when we get there. Yes, that's a huge. He is a pirate.
speaker-2: This is a
speaker-1: of us. I don't know cooks are still I was on a submarine and the cooks are a part of the crew
speaker-0: Same.
speaker-1: You're saying that he's be loyal. we'll figure it out.
speaker-0: Yeah, that's a that's a big moral dilemma for episode 15.
speaker-1: what the adventure tells you from the very beginning.
speaker-0: Yeah, it's like it's like it's really about the That is the genie thing is a bait and switch October it's
speaker-2: This is...
speaker-1: Cook is actually the genie binder of Saffa. This is secret.
speaker-2: The whole.
speaker-0: ⁓ It's it's the captain isn't the real captain is the cat. Yeah Well, there's only one way to find out and that's to jump into our game here left ⁓ Where we last left you guys is you had the key to the captain's quarter and you're going through the door and That's literally what the situation is right this second, can you give me some
speaker-1: Let's jump into our game.
speaker-0: tense, piratey seafaring music.
speaker-2: ⁓
speaker-1: Yeah. ⁓ Yeah, but tense for sure. We do have the power of sirenscape at our disposal.
speaker-3: I'm calm
speaker-0: I think you should do this.
speaker-3: something like that at the show. Yeah, friend of the show.
speaker-1: How's that?
speaker-0: Adam.
speaker-3: Thanks for giving us ScienceCape Free.
speaker-2: Yeah
speaker-0: All right, so Tasha you're kind of at the front here and so you open the door and reveals a hall and there's two doors one on the left and one on the right and then there's a door directly in front of you to Okay For some reason it's not marked as a door, but I can change that real quick
speaker-3: That's what they do for us.
speaker-1: A ghost door in front of us and then two reed doors to our left and our right. Ghost door? like another dimension.
speaker-3: This is a ghost sh-
speaker-0: No, there's not really a ghost store. ⁓ sorry. It's just a real though.
speaker-1: There's something in my contacts, I'm sorry.
speaker-3: I appreciate it. Not good. Alright.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: I don't sense any ghosts here.
speaker-3: Sorry, let's take a step in.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: Tashi is gonna try to sneak or have sneak. yet I roll again. Why would you continue to roll that knowing that you're the
speaker-3: for.
speaker-0: Do I have stealth?
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: It's right.
speaker-1: That's a ten as I step foot in the hallway. ⁓
speaker-0: KAAAAWEEEE
speaker-2: EEEE
speaker-0: Found the loosest of loose words here Yeah, and so you made a noise but You don't hear anything directly ahead. You do hear a muffled from the from the door to your left
speaker-3: Brain
speaker-1: Touch is going to signal turn back maybe to fib.
speaker-3: Door to the left. What? You want me to break into the door on the left?
speaker-0: I will remind you that you guys do have a key from the first mate that you lifted from the body of the first mate that you killed in the lower death.
speaker-1: Okay, so I would think that that might work.
speaker-0: Yeah, there is a giant padlock on this door to the left. The other door has no such lock.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: Okay. Is there anything in this hallway? Sorry, go, Jelle. I was gonna say, Shelly kind of tries to wander in and like crawls between, not really crawls because she's so little. kind of steps between your legs and so that you have to get this like shield standing in front of you. But like Shelly's still underneath you and I can't move anywhere else.
speaker-0: I would say that the door directly in front of you at the far end of this hall is very ornate.
speaker-1: Okay, I think that's a captain's.
speaker-3: But as you said it first, but yes, that's the captain Great
speaker-0: I PAY STONE
speaker-2: You
speaker-1: I think we try and help out and see what's behind this door first. Yeah. Somebody we were told there was somebody else that we had to help right? Can't there can't there.
speaker-3: the black Bye.
speaker-1: I'm gonna- Or unless you're- I'm gonna stand guard up here and she trucks coming past you.
speaker-3: think we should- Ring.
speaker-0: So do you want me to try and open this?
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: Maybe you can open it stealthily, because I don't think I can. And Toshi hands you the key.
speaker-0: What do I roll for that? even? Well, so having a key kind of, um, we don't have a key for the padlock though. You have a key. So you don't, I mean, it opened this door, but who knows? It could open other locks. I I'm untrained in stealth. Right. So it wouldn't, the thing is, is the stealth role has already been blown, you know, like as far as like,
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: noise being made. Having a key will allow you to shield comes across the screen. The key will at least help you from making further racket by like trying to break the lock open or pick it or whatever you can just slot the key in there and turn it, you know. But if you are having any illusions of being stealthy at this point, I must disavow you of that. perspective because you are not stealthy at all at this point. But nobody has come jumping out of the door either. Yeah.
speaker-3: This is a... I... I don't know how to say but he thinks it's a remember, it's called a skeleton key. I think maybe multiple doors it might open.
speaker-0: Okay, well let's try and open the one on the left. that what we're doing? All right, so open it. Key works. It is key after all. Okay. So you can look in there and you see a comfortable bed, some expensive furnishing that all suggests that this cabin was once intended for important passengers.
speaker-1: Yeah.
speaker-3: that key actually worked.
speaker-0: Or dignitaries to travel in luxury however it has been converted into a makeshift prison cell because you see a red-haired dwarf with a braided beer tied to a chair and one of his eyes just purple and swollen from injuries and actually a picture of our boy
speaker-3: don't know if I want to see that drop it but anyway
speaker-1: Where are you dropping it? Oh wow
speaker-3: He's a cool looking dude, but man, it's pretty swollen.
speaker-1: That was an eye patch for a second. It's no it's it's real bad
speaker-3: It's like a macarooner. Ube Vackerune in his eye socket. Very unfortunate.
speaker-0: Oh man. so he just kind of looks at that you through one squinted eye and another eye. There's like crusted blood on his nose. His lip is swollen. disheveled. He says, he doesn't even really say anything to you guys. He just looks at you kind of like, you know, he doesn't know if you're a friend or foe. And so he's just not saying anything.
speaker-2: you You
speaker-1: I
speaker-0: Should we say something too? Okay, we're not- We mean you no harm!
speaker-1: Yeah. Hashi and steps in.
speaker-0: Yeah. ⁓
speaker-3: No go ahead Tashi.
speaker-1: Sorry, Jeff. Not quite. I'm Toshi. We're here to rescue you if you're Ganther. If you're not Ganther, we'll probably still rescue you. If you are Ganther, yes.
speaker-3: What about that?
speaker-0: I am Ganther, Ganther Hegelsen.
speaker-1: Wait, did you say Arthur Evilson? ⁓ Like son of evil? Hickelson. Right. ⁓ Hickel. Well known, right?
speaker-0: ⁓ no no HIGGLE SUB SUB I-I-I-I-
speaker-1: Absolutely, we were talking with Carreja.
speaker-0: her rot.
speaker-3: Lie.
speaker-1: and she let us know that you were in here and that you were a high value captive and well
speaker-0: Alright, so she knew I was in here, she just left me here, ⁓ Is that what you say?
speaker-1: No, no, they're, they have it, she is trying to get the other captives off, we are handling it.
speaker-0: just busting your balls it's all right uh right right yeah well let's uh there's no time like the present so they say so let's go let's get out of here i think the boat is sinking
speaker-3: Hey, question for ya. Did you ever run into that, ⁓ cook?
speaker-0: Well, I wouldn't say that I ran into the cook, but he ran into me a few times. He's a good enough chap, I suppose. He always came giving me broth and it wasn't terrible.
speaker-3: I'm wondering, we're wondering about sparing him.
speaker-0: ⁓ that can burn! ⁓ just kidding, ⁓ just kidding, no, that's up to you, uh-uh. How'd you-
speaker-3: Okay.
speaker-1: about the fire part we didn't tell you that
speaker-0: I got a nugget ⁓
speaker-1: I think we just leave him here. They don't know about it. Just kidding. Just,
speaker-0: I like this guy, gets it. You get it, you get it. Alright, alright,
speaker-1: Tosh is
speaker-3: Best Maharaj will perhaps provide some self-healing ointment for your eye.
speaker-0: ⁓ no, no, no. Please don't. The- the- the witches at the inn, like it when you're all butt-busted up, right? And so, I'm gonna try and get a little bit of a discount if you know what I mean. ⁓
speaker-3: You look how do you say badass? Okay, Marash is beginning to understand.
speaker-0: right right right and honestly i don't want to be an nbc in a fight so i need you to keep me at a reasonably unhealthy level so it would make no sense for me to be rolling initiative and fighting with you because this is your fight see well
speaker-3: Another someone who's not coming up.
speaker-0: Right, right, right. I want to see what you make of I hate to steal glory from the four of you.
speaker-1: See, I was thinking that it would be a 5 against 1 situation, so the odds are stacked a more versus 4 versus 4.
speaker-0: But I hate to inform you, it's not gonna just be one there. ⁓ Yeah, he's got a couple bodyguards.
speaker-1: That's all the that we could use real.
speaker-0: ⁓ See, see your pathfinders right again, make up a noggin. I'm a little press you know.
speaker-3: charlatan just generally okay cool
speaker-1: Are you a charlatan ⁓
speaker-0: Perhaps, yeah? Now, seriously though, I appreciate the help. I get a little punchy as a defense mechanism. ⁓ I am not feeling that great, honestly. And, well, I would be happy to take any kind of healing. I do worry that if you do plan on taking...
speaker-2: That's right, yeah.
speaker-0: the captain on one on one. could just leave right now. That'd be great. But ⁓ if you plan on taking on the captain, that's not going to be an easy fight for you, I don't think. And so maybe save resources for you.
speaker-3: What would you say would be the toughest challenge in fighting said captain?
speaker-0: Well, the captain seems to be able to boost themselves when they have numbers around them, you see? Like, when he's scott, that's why I keep those bodyguards. It seems to give him some extra courage or bravery or something like that. I don't know. It sounds like he needs other people to fight his battles for him, but that's just me. And look at me, I'm chained up to a f***ing four-poster bed with a black eye. So I didn't do much better. trying to take him on, but I'll buy me loads soon.
speaker-1: Right? I'll just go and let you out real quick. ⁓ Are you sure? tries the key. Yes, I'm sure.
speaker-0: Alright! I'm just messing with you, it's fine.
speaker-2: Ha!
speaker-1: You don't want to leave.
speaker-0: it.
speaker-1: We can let you go down with the ship if you want.
speaker-2: fight
speaker-0: No, no, ⁓ but speaking of down in the ship, ⁓ where where did you say my friends and compadres are
speaker-1: Quite sure that they went to get off the ship. Believe they're right.
speaker-0: ⁓ well, those, those luts couldn't get off, couldn't get themselves off a privy boat without my help, so I best go make sure that they got their leader to make sure they can hit the, the raft, so to speak, and get back to shore.
speaker-1: Perfect. ⁓ that old saying, hit the raft, yeah, right. And Tosh is gonna go in and see if she can use the key to open the lock.
speaker-0: Bye. ⁓
speaker-2: Does it work?
speaker-0: Right, yeah, it works.
speaker-2: Click! ⁓
speaker-3: Alright
speaker-0: Yeah.
speaker-1: Look you're free to go. Thank you for making sure that Karadji and all your other fellow captives are free now and no longer captives and get to shore because as you intimated and rightly predicted this is a the ship is going down and we're gonna burn it so
speaker-0: Best that happened quickly.
speaker-1: So there's anything that you like that you want to maybe the cook or some food
speaker-0: Well, the cook is your problem, actually. But, listen. I'm gonna thank you right now for finishing what we started. Alright? How-
speaker-1: Can you tell me a bit more about that? I'm trying to like find more answers, but also just know that like time is of a thing.
speaker-0: He's like, oh, yeah, alright. Well, just so you know, I did secure passage on a fishing boat to meet with a ship called the Triumph and the open seas about two days ago. Well, our fishing boat was boarded and Cat Tadrin, that's the captain, took everyone captive. The Triumph descended upon the Swift Huntress as it headed to Sadeq. They gave as good as they got.
speaker-3: I'm not
speaker-0: But each ship was unable to continue the fight and I'm surprised that this ship made it to port. I do hope that the trial for steel will float somewhere and well I think that I'll rally up my fellow fishermen and see if we can't find it.
speaker-1: Alright, I hope that you can. Sounds like it's a lifeline for you. To be safe. Can we help you out with that after we take out this Captain Tadron?
speaker-2: you you
speaker-0: No, no, that'd be stealing my glory, see?
speaker-1: You're quite the keen eye for glory and the steel in your thunder. So thank you for that.
speaker-2: Right
speaker-3: Bye
speaker-1: for
speaker-0: Yeah, he gets up and kind of lips his way out and he tries to wink with his bruised eye. He goes, ow. So he tries to he winks at you with his other eye and scurries down to retrieve his shipmates.
speaker-1: Okay. Where are the shipmates again? We're ⁓ I thought they had they had already left the ship, but maybe.
speaker-0: You had given them instructions to go ahead and go, but you went ahead of them. So he's just going to meet up with them and just organize a ⁓ disembarking with the life rafts or whatever, the lifeboats. And then I guess we'll just pause here and wait on Kev. Well, I don't know. Just, no, I'm just kidding.
speaker-2: We could
speaker-1: Shelly seems
speaker-0: Maybe we go talk to the captain now?
speaker-2: HAH! HAH! HAH! HAH!
speaker-1: Thank you for playing Ganthor as so crusty as he is.
speaker-0: You're welcome. You're welcome. I did it just for you.
speaker-1: Thank you. You knew that I would appreciate it.
speaker-2: you
speaker-3: It was much appreciated. After seeing a bunch of goblins and stuff, kinda like... odd.
speaker-2: Shit.
speaker-1: That was a massacre.
speaker-0: Yes. How long do you think we should wait? Like 10 minutes? 20 minutes? said the power's back on. He's just waiting for the router to boot up. Yeah.
speaker-1: Cool.
speaker-0: Good? So my power went out, I had to break out the candles, but then it came back on. ⁓
speaker-1: I'm so curious about questions. I always feel like there are questions that we should ask and We don't so well at the end it Because we're trying to move forward
speaker-2: Mm-hmm.
speaker-0: Well there is information you missed, but it would only be... you'd only understand it if you'd gotten some of the other information that you missed. So... does...
speaker-3: Wow, the compounding issue of like not asking questions.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: I think in general we just have to ask way more questions than we normally would. ⁓
speaker-0: Ask Just turn marketplace episodes into like 10.
speaker-1: I think so. Yeah, I think so.
speaker-0: What?
speaker-3: Somehow we managed to make things long without asking questions. But we'll figure it
speaker-2: Yeah. What? Yay.
speaker-0: Yay! Yay! Hello.
speaker-1: I'm back.
speaker-3: Welcome back
speaker-1: I was really confused. like my I'm on my computer and then like everything went black And so my first thought was crap. I forgot to plug in my laptop, which is powering Every right, ⁓ and then I was like, wait a minute. Everything is black and then I hear the screaming in the other room ⁓ Apparently like the whole neighborhood went black for just a minute now it's back up. ⁓ Thanks. Sorry. Sorry
speaker-3: Thanks.
speaker-1: So we finished and can't there you finish the whole like what I miss. That's it. We actually find a captain we fought Andrin That's true. Will was you it was good. Well, yeah, that's fine, dude Yeah, there's else. So I would never know thanks everyone. Yeah
speaker-0: They played as you Alright, great session. ⁓ Okay, ⁓
speaker-1: I think we should check this other door.
speaker-3: Are we clapping hands?
speaker-0: Now we can just go and cut it. Yeah. Sorry. ⁓
speaker-1: My audacity broke though, so.
speaker-3: Okay
speaker-0: So maybe we should clap when Kevin's ready.
speaker-1: Yeah, as soon as you actually start recording again, should clap and then we'll do it. I recover the selected.
speaker-2: We
speaker-0: Peace.
speaker-1: Cover. Okay. Cover.
speaker-0: Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I would recover it, save that, and then start a new one. ⁓
speaker-2: Hehe.
speaker-3: Protocol
speaker-1: Adam is waiting. Why is it funny? He's got some adrenaline. He's ready to fight us.
speaker-0: I'm ready to whip some ass. It's dark in there. ⁓
speaker-1: I'm recording recording recording recording recording. right, cool. Three, two, one. Alright, yeah I know. ⁓
speaker-2: Three two one
speaker-0: Alright. Yes, alright. Alright. Alright. Alright. Alright.
speaker-1: I think we should perhaps just check this other room and make sure that there's no surprises and then we'll go kick captain tantrums out
speaker-2: Bye bye.
speaker-3: Arse. Arse. Sounds good to me.
speaker-1: Is there a catwalk on this other door? Go ahead and open it, Maraji. Yeah, right.
speaker-0: You can just open it. Everybody roll a reflex save as a level 10 fireball trap explodes
speaker-2: Wow ⁓
speaker-1: ⁓ For real? whole ship goes down.
speaker-3: Oh my god.
speaker-0: No, there's nothing in there. It's fine. There's a rug two barrels and a couple hammocks ⁓
speaker-1: Have you seen anything like that?
speaker-2: I- I think-
speaker-1: I don't think I've seen a rug like this. Perhaps I should ask a lot of questions about the rug. Just to make sure. I think so. Because there might be some hidden information that this rug has. Tell us what feet have grace.
speaker-0: RUDD QUESTION
speaker-2: It's.
speaker-3: Have you seen what It could be a rock of magic and wonder.
speaker-1: It sounds like you've got a blanket over your voice, can you? Can you take a look?
speaker-0: ⁓ a whole new world with this carpet. Wait, what is do we hear somebody mumbling?
speaker-2: I'm gonna open the... Hi! Is ⁓
speaker-1: Tashi goes over and takes a break.
speaker-0: People's sanity check.
speaker-2: Yeah, exactly. ⁓
speaker-0: No, there's nothing in the room. The rug is not talking. And it is about as normal of a rug as you could ever hope to see. It's like it's like it's like a home goods rug. know, everybody has the same rug. know, it's mass produced world market. Yeah.
speaker-2: What?
speaker-0: There's a lot of vomit stains on it. ⁓ jeez. Yeah.
speaker-3: Maybe I don't know that we know that just that this is a really rock
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: Alright, I think it's time. I'm happy to take the lead and open the door.
speaker-3: Alrighty. I'm also fine with that.
speaker-0: That's a fantastic idea!
speaker-2: I ALSO THINK THAT
speaker-1: Thank you
speaker-2: Your vote of confidence.
speaker-0: All right So is this the marching order that we want here? We've got Tashi in front. We got shell back then we got fib and then we got mirage
speaker-1: ⁓ who's in the-
speaker-3: I wonder
speaker-2: Yeah.
speaker-1: Yeah, of course it was Marasha.
speaker-0: Okay. ⁓ Go for it, John. So you have the door. And you see seems like a really bad place to be at this moment. Just yeah. So you see three individuals, see two sailors, and then you see what's clearly the captain. And I'll show you a picture of the captain definitely is a work. That's pretty cool. Yeah. ⁓
speaker-2: Whoa! What?
speaker-3: have a good dental plan.
speaker-0: And so he's got a little torn up got some big tusks coming out of the bottom jaw and red eyes and then
speaker-1: It's a goblin in crossbones. ⁓
speaker-0: It's pretty sick. like some pirates here as well. So these guys... ⁓ Yeah, these guys... They out for Broadway.
speaker-1: Awesome red eyes. They also put- or sorry, one shoe. They only have one-
speaker-3: What is happening? This is a very
speaker-0: you
speaker-1: It's very Motley Crue.
speaker-0: Yeah, so it's not actually not her job hobgoblin, right?
speaker-3: really likes
speaker-1: ⁓ they're hobgoblins. That's right. Yeah, yeah, right. Right.
speaker-0: Hence the red eyes. ⁓ Yeah, so the three of them are there and as you open the door, ⁓ two daggers get hurled directly at you. ⁓ I'm sorry, my reddit action was already.
speaker-1: Don't wave questions, hang on, don't attack him. Wait, what's the ⁓
speaker-0: So first one coming at you. Here we go. That is a critical miss on the first one. So it flies past and just sticks into the door. And then here comes the second one from the from the left pirate. And that is a hit with a 21. So it sticks in you for four points of damage.
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: We need some combat music and we need some initiative rolled. Right. All right. So a reminder of how to do this on the, where you see the chat box and you see all those icons, right? Click the cross swords. And if you do that, a tracker will come up and you click the D 20 icon next to your name and it will roll.
speaker-1: Okay. Alright. Alright.
speaker-2: Thanks
speaker-1: We're positive though we can't do it until you have to unpause
speaker-2: ⁓ You lie.
speaker-1: I'm trying.
speaker-0: Well, you took yourself out of combat. I don't know why you did that. No! Right. So there's chat bubbles. Yeah. There's the encounters. You right click that, right? So on the, on the right side of your screen where the chat is, there's all those icons. You see the cross swords.
speaker-1: Okay.
speaker-3: I
speaker-0: You don't see cross swords.
speaker-1: See the speech bubbles? I- What? I see you're dying. Can I roll this thing?
speaker-0: I- I- I- I- I- Ha ha!
speaker-1: Did that work? That was perception.
speaker-0: That's what we roll for initiative. Okay, cool. It worked.
speaker-1: Cool. I found it.
speaker-0: All right. So we're going to start this encounter. And Tadron got the jump here. the captain gets the jump here. Let's see. For the first action, they are going to hunt prey on Tadashi.
speaker-1: patrons.
speaker-0: Yikes. Rude.
speaker-1: unnecessary.
speaker-0: It's not great. ⁓
speaker-3: Beautiful.
speaker-0: And then they're going to stay where they are.
speaker-3: Tashi, it is very important that you do not remove the knife from you. It will exacerbate the bleed. Do not do that.
speaker-1: Right, okay, alright, I'll just leave it right here next to my... I can't turn because the hilt is like right next to my face. So, but I'll just leave it.
speaker-3: This is fine. It is better.
speaker-0: Marajah, you're up.
speaker-2: you
speaker-3: But as you will now transform he also will become a quote bad and he's going to turn into a Because he can't Yeah, why not so he's now a bear something bad
speaker-0: We're gonna need to talk that through a little bit. So go ahead and if you would put into the chat the ability that allows you to do this. I don't need to tell me what it's called. I need you to put it in the chat. Okay, great. All right, here we go.
speaker-3: I was expecting All done. K A B A
speaker-1: ⁓ no, you get to-
speaker-3: Did that work? Is it in the chat?
speaker-0: Yet is so animal form. It's a two actions. It takes two actions for you to do this And this will last for a minute ⁓ and I believe I can Drag this to your token for you to become a bear. Let's see what happens. That's it. You are now bear form Yeah, it's five temporary hit points from the spell effect and will also
speaker-1: But it's
speaker-0: gain the following abilities. Speed gets increased to 30 feet from 25 feet. Gets two different attacks. Melee ⁓ Jaws, which does two D8 piercing, or a Melee Claw, which is agile, which deals one D8. And agile means that instead of a minus five on your map, it's a minus four.
speaker-2: Mmm.
speaker-0: ⁓ So Mirage says all this stuff about the knife and as this cat person says that the cat features well they just get a little bit more loop or what is it? ⁓ Ursine and and and swells up a little bit gets thicker and the claws get a little longer the the snout gets a little longer and ⁓ You know nobody can see this amazing transformation because Mirage is in the back
speaker-1: size. Bachelor.
speaker-0: but like, ⁓ Phil, ⁓ fib, you probably start to hear that one creaky board that, ⁓ Tashi stepped on. gives up the ghost. breaks under the weight of the bears. ⁓ so you, yeah, it turns around to see that and there's a giant bear right behind you. Reminds of story.
speaker-1: Yeah.
speaker-0: Okay, so you are a bear now with two melee attacks and you do have one action left
speaker-3: Okay, well, so Mirage is ⁓ being a bear and also tired of being the butt of jokes of about not getting into the action is going to try to move into the action. So that's what he will do because he wants to go and bite. He's going for one of the ads because he's not a dumb bear. He knows it.
speaker-0: So the bear just charges through the hallway just pushing you guys to the side And then just Charges through and gets right up. We'll call this one squee on the left Yeah, squee and that's a pretty big start there mirage. All right, Tashi you are up
speaker-1: Tashi is infuriated instantly by this dagger that is just sticking out of her neck bone area. So Tashi is going to run in, go into rage immediately. And then I'm going to apply that effect. then.
speaker-0: Got it.
speaker-1: I guess. Swing with her great ex.
speaker-2: Peace.
speaker-0: ⁓ what kind of barbarian are you?
speaker-1: What's my specialty? I'm an elemental.
speaker-0: Uh, so you get to rage for free because you have the quick temper. It's thanks to you actually. So as one action to move in, you have two actions remaining. All right.
speaker-2: Okay.
speaker-1: Yeah, I'm going to use that to strike. And I hover over the one on the right. So I'm running to the other side of the bear mirage.
speaker-0: You hover over and press T. That's target. Go. Let's go. Let's rage strike. Big red. What is tough? I may have asked you this before, but this is our first real. Well, no, it's not our first combat, but tell me, tell me what your rage looks like.
speaker-1: Yeah, and then click on strike. Tashi's rage looks like from where the dagger is, then the same thing that happened at the party happens where like her skin just becomes to like look and turn metal and just as as a silvery substance seems to like ooze out and just cover her whole body and then especially run into her hands and then matches the same metal that is the great axe and that
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: That is her elemental instinct. So it looks a little like Atlas, but for corporate reasons, not the same. it's all good.
speaker-0: You know what? F*** them. It looks like Atlas. You know what? F*** them.
speaker-1: You know what? You know what? ⁓
speaker-0: We do it at will this how we do it at will stream. That's true. ⁓ Okay. No like this is whatever I can't even do the legalese. So you did hit with your 23 is a hit with the great acts. So let's get some damage.
speaker-2: That's
speaker-1: Okay, gonna roll my d12 one of the perks of being a barb 18 points of damage Swinging I feel like I hit a light too as I'm swinging. I just have no No caution to hit anything else in the room
speaker-0: You set the boat on fire. Like it's not serious. No, I'm just kidding. But you do, you do a significant amount of damage on this freaking pirate. 18 points of damage still standing, but boy was that a huge, huge hit from the barbarian. And you still have another action.
speaker-1: ⁓ I'm gonna swing again.
speaker-0: Alright, make sure you roll it that map for me. Correct. That's huge. mean, you almost rolled max damage plus he's getting that bonus electricity damage from the rage.
speaker-1: That is a 21 to hit It's another hit It was just one swing and strike and then a swing to the left for nine points of damage
speaker-0: Well that's another hit!
speaker-2: you you
speaker-0: Wow. Your phone has fallen. Dude. Yeah.
speaker-1: No way! Taking him out. Wow.
speaker-2: Bye!
speaker-0: ⁓ A big opening number here, huge. I understand now that I'm going to need to up the difficulty of these fights going forward.
speaker-3: Why are you back?
speaker-1: Baraj, can I pull this out now that I've killed the one who-
speaker-0: through it.
speaker-3: Yes, and you can call me bet has she been around you
speaker-2: Okay.
speaker-0: ⁓ All right, well, Mirage walks up to the pirate as a bear and the pirate kind of freaks out. nonetheless, it's like a werewolf type of bear either way ⁓ and strikes out with the scimitar. Here we go.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: and
speaker-0: Alright, that is a 23. I believe that will hit.
speaker-3: Yeah, probably. Yeah, I imagine so. I forget where to look it up, but I believe you. It's pretty high.
speaker-0: good. Yeah, you have a 19 aren't class. So 23 beats you. Here comes the damage. Alright, so that is eight points of slashing damage on mirashi. And then so make sure you take that temporary HP first and then.
speaker-1: Mmm.
speaker-2: you you
speaker-0: Um, all right, now we're going to do a second swing with the scimitar and the scimitar has what's called a forceful trait. So when you attack with it more than once, when you're turned the second attack gains a circumstance bonus to damage equal to the number of weapon damage dice. Yeah. So we'll see. Here we go. Second swing is a 14. That's a miss.
speaker-2: you ⁓
speaker-3: Yeah, that's the best. Nice. That is thick.
speaker-0: Third swing. Here we go. Crit fishing. That's a seven. That's a seven.
speaker-1: That's it.
speaker-3: Are there any more swings? That's Jesus. All right.
speaker-1: Yeah ⁓
speaker-3: Yeah, you encountered a bug in Pathfinder 2e where you just get swung at like multiple times. Alright, cool.
speaker-0: So you should be down three HP as well. Yeah. All right. In a quick way to do this and ⁓ well, nevermind. All right. So it's now fibs turn is in the hall. Yeah, I'm never. We totally will. is happening? Okay, cool. I'm in range. I'm going to insult the captain.
speaker-1: Yeah
speaker-3: aren't going to learn it anyway.
speaker-1: Yes.
speaker-0: With a heap of invective spews from my mouth. So devastating that he burns with intensity with 2d6 fire damage. Wow. I'm casting blistering invective.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: Cosic name
speaker-0: and I'm going to say I would insu- best to sink away from you.
speaker-1: It's already
speaker-3: shit but you do it gets you pathetic captain
speaker-2: you you
speaker-0: ⁓ So just target and then cast you target and then I will roll the wheel safe, right? Okay, so just target just Which one is he taint the center one? All right, and then so I'll roll will save here Okay, ⁓ that is a 13, which is a fail. Yeah. So I'm going to take the full persistent fire damage and become frightened one because these words are just so hot and spicy.
speaker-2: ⁓
speaker-0: Roll damage? Alright. Yeah, roll damage. All right. All right, actually. Yeah. Well, OK, I did that right. You did, but that's OK. So this so he failed. So I need to first put the frightened condition on the captain. Frightened. And then I'm putting that persistent damage on here, which is nice, which will happen on his turn.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: worst place to be.
speaker-0: Alright, and that'll automatically roll.
speaker-1: By the way, sick graphic on Foundry of ⁓ yeah. Of these like, ⁓ yeah, spirit.
speaker-0: So that's the fear effect showing you there. So there's some purple skulls. a reminder. was scared. was scared. You're gripped by fear and struggle control your nerves. The frightened edition always includes a value in this case one, you take a status penalty equal to this value to all checks and DCs.
speaker-3: Haunted by ghosts
speaker-1: like the ghost face from
speaker-0: At the end of each turn, the value of your frightened condition decreases by one. Okay. So frightens are really good and common, ⁓ condition that you'll see in pathfinder two E and it is one of the few conditions that continue to stack. So you always want to build that up, know, okay. ⁓ still nonetheless,
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: Well that's bad.
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: You got it through. So now it's Shellback's turn.
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: Is it just for clarification on my part, there's two? Actions. So I guess you do have one action remain. Yes, I can move. ⁓ You can move. I'm to move. But for whatever reason, it's not letting you move. Wait, because you got to go through the door first and then you can't move. Yeah. Got it. I move into the room. Okay, great. All right. Show back. You are up. All right.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: So shell shell back before I lost power it was standing in the hall over the shield up and I guess just frozen and all of you guys walked around her But she still got her shield up and so now she's gonna come charging in to do to do with her small feet as far as she can right up to the captain's face nice and um She's gonna drop her shield, which I got to figure out how to do that
speaker-0: ⁓ So the little shield icon that you're seeing in the top right you can just right-click it
speaker-1: Okay, it's gone. And now I wanna do, I haven't done this yet, I wanna try Spellstrike.
speaker-0: Alright, make sure you target the enemy first.
speaker-1: Okay, so I have to hit... Okay. And then I hit spellstrike? Mm-hmm. Okay.
speaker-0: Hover and T, yep. And then you'll just make a strike with your weapon
speaker-1: Okay. And then I strike with my I'm going to use my Capesh, which is like a scimitar type. Oh, look at that. Capiche. You I'm just going to roll my. Oh, I'm going to use my board, actually, but it's I hit a roll to 15.
speaker-2: Peace.
speaker-0: ⁓ boy! That is a failure.
speaker-1: ⁓ And I was I meant to roll my horn which is a plus three to that so it would have been a eight rough, dude That's ⁓ a savers or suck type thing right so now I lose the spell
speaker-0: Tough. Rough.
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: Yes, that's correct, but she assumed you used a ⁓ Cantrip did you a cantrip? ⁓ Well, that was dumb. Yeah, you lose
speaker-4: What's gonna use?
speaker-1: This is probably, I was gonna use a Sutton Bolt, which is a 4D12 of electricity.
speaker-0: Yeah, that's the gamble though dude you have to hit with that hit you know
speaker-1: I didn't know that and I hit the wrong button when 18 hit.
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: I'm not telling you that, you missed. ⁓
speaker-1: I'm now disappointed in myself because I clicked the wrong button because I was
speaker-0: Yeah, should be. He totally should be.
speaker-1: ⁓ Do I just roll damage? You miss. I need to get rid of the spell somehow. So like...
speaker-0: No, no damage. Okay, all Kevin what's gonna be okay, I want you go to your spell slots All right, see see where it says first rank or second rank yeah, and there's that one Zero yeah turn that to zero
speaker-3: stereo friend.
speaker-1: hit it hit type Oops, I accidentally added a zero to the back of it.
speaker-0: For reference, to do that automatically, you would click the cast button rather than the speech bubble button.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: I don't know what speech bubble you're talking about, but I hit-
speaker-0: So when you hover over the icon, right? ⁓ Instead of doing that, click the blue cast button that's on the right and that will actually spin the spell slot for you.
speaker-1: even if I missed my role.
speaker-0: Even if you your roll because you have to cast the spell. It's part of the spell strikers.
speaker-1: Okay fine, so he looks like, ⁓ she looks like an idiot, and she just runs up and swings and... It's alright.
speaker-0: Yep. We're still low shell back though. We really do. It's round two. It's Tadron's turn. Tadron is on fire from blistering words and afraid all at the same time. Cannot handle the comedic stylings of Fip. The crowd work is just too strong. But you are still, ⁓ Tashi still is the hunted prey for the captain. And so the captain is.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: You
speaker-2: You you
speaker-0: going to attack with the great X.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: ⁓ great acts be great acts.
speaker-2: Thanks
speaker-0: Great Axe V Great Axe. First strike.
speaker-2: Wow.
speaker-1: It was like a slash action.
speaker-2: Yeah, was sick.
speaker-0: That's a 26 ⁓
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: Just hits crazy crazy, dude. Yeah, so
speaker-0: It's gonna do some damage plus some precision damage because you are the hunted prey So this is gonna be a nasty hit. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah 26 points of slashing damage
speaker-2: Mmm Wow. Alright.
speaker-1: Okay, and I have to manually change that, right? Because there's no window. Okay, thank you, thank you. Cool, thanks for...
speaker-0: I can do it. That's serious business as you just get slid. I mean this great actions comes right down across your chest, you know just splitting your skin revealing You know all sorts of capillaries and veins just the dagger falls Blood yeah, not he does your favorite That was the first action, oh man with second action here
speaker-1: out.
speaker-3: This very
speaker-1: I Tashi was literally not even paying attention. just so furious and just killed the pirate to his left,
speaker-0: Yeah. okay. Then here comes a, he's good. Does this big slash with the great acts spends an action to swap grips so he can put you in the face. ⁓ Gauntlet. ⁓
speaker-1: you
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: Dude. the-
speaker-3: this guy but he's not good
speaker-0: Just a g- ⁓ man, that is a dirty 20 that meets beats.
speaker-2: wow.
speaker-1: Alright, cool.
speaker-0: and you will take another 10 points of piercing damage. Okay.
speaker-2: Wow.
speaker-3: You
speaker-1: Tasha went from 53, sorry 59 down to 19 in the span of three actions.
speaker-0: Yeah, that's brutal. Yeah, not great. It's just wallops Tashi and I'll make sure you take that damage too. So yeah, you're not looking good there. That's a big, so then it's going to be the end of their turn. A couple of things happen. One, the frightened goes away. However, I do take six points of persistent burning damage. Yes, you do. These insults.
speaker-2: real brutal.
speaker-1: Get out.
speaker-0: And I'm going to make a recovery check to see if I can get unburnt and I don't so I stay on fire Wait that's good. ⁓ that persistent damage is continuing
speaker-1: Just a quick question for you. Because of my metal element, I do have a resistance, a raging resistance to piercing or slash.
speaker-2: Hmm
speaker-0: ⁓ I think that it's...
speaker-1: It doesn't say by how much. And and we- I mean, like, the- the- The chest piece has already been moved and we're already like pressing, but.
speaker-0: necessarily, ⁓ but I'm wondering why it didn't
speaker-1: tag it raging resistance. I'm to look it up here. Am I dying? Uh, raging resistance, repeated exposure. Oh wait, that might be a not sorry. That's a level nine thing. My bad. My bad. That's off to the side. My bad. My bad. All good. All good. Okay. I take all the damage as I was intended. Good.
speaker-2: you
speaker-3: Yes.
speaker-0: You do. All right. Well, it's now Raji's turn. You just saw Tashi get... ...tenderized like a steak.
speaker-3: I mean, Maharajee being the healer is very concerned about Tashi, especially since that knife got removed, increasing hemorrhaging, which is not good kids. So Maharajee will out of rage just be behold the jaws of ma- ⁓ sorry, bad Rajee as he strikes down on a It's like a goblin orc-ess or whatever it is. As he's gonna use his jaws attack as a bear, he can do this.
speaker-0: Yeah.
speaker-3: And he does that. I think it's a 15.
speaker-2: Bye.
speaker-0: You forgot to target, but that is ⁓
speaker-3: ⁓ I'm sorry. Can I? Yeah, since I have three actions, can I go do that again?
speaker-1: That's it.
speaker-0: Yes, you just need to make sure you roll it at the MAP the next one down, right?
speaker-2: Hmm.
speaker-3: MAP minus five, that scares me. Okay.
speaker-0: You could do a claw if you want to do minus four instead of minus five because it has that add job but it doesn't do as much damage, you know.
speaker-3: Let's try again with the jaws.
speaker-0: Alright?
speaker-1: Better roll.
speaker-3: that better?
speaker-0: It is and you still you still haven't targeted that is how to do that ⁓
speaker-3: Okay.
speaker-0: You have one action remaining. You want to crit fish to see if you can get that natural 20?
speaker-1: Fish, fish, fish, fish, fish.
speaker-3: I don't know what that means, sorry. What does that mean?
speaker-0: We're fishing for crit hits because your next attack is going to be either at a minus 10 or a minus 8. So it's unlikely to hit unless you roll a critical.
speaker-3: Okay, okay. No matter what attack I do,
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: You have to take the third map, regardless of which one you do.
speaker-3: Okay, okay, got it.
speaker-1: That's the attitude.
speaker-2: Get...
speaker-3: That's not gonna work. That d***. Critical miss.
speaker-0: Yeah, I mean that third that third action said it is a critical miss because it's misses by ten so ⁓ So here's a lesson that I want you guys to learn for the 2e system, okay You'll never learn if I don't teach you the hard way The third action should never be spent on a third attack unless you have some sort of way to mitigate those penalties you
speaker-3: That's what it's. Russia is very bad.
speaker-2: Mmm.
speaker-0: Probably that should have taken a guarded step away from the enemies so that you could cast spells if you wanted to But now you learn
speaker-3: Spares, ⁓ man.
speaker-0: Alright.
speaker-1: No fair!
speaker-3: Thanks.
speaker-0: Tashi, we're up to you. You're not feeling great.
speaker-1: Not feeling great at all. Tashi's too pissed. Tashi is going to take a guarded step, stepping onto the body of the pirate. Okay. Add. And then Tashi is going to say, you slashed me up and all I wanted to do was ask you questions. And then Tashi is going to target and swing again with the great ass.
speaker-0: you
speaker-2: you
speaker-3: I am the wrong person to be asking questions. The time for NPC interrogation has passed.
speaker-2: And
speaker-1: Then shut up! 23 which hit last time.
speaker-0: on to the Yes, but that was on Pyro. Does it? This is it.
speaker-2: ⁓ you're right. Okay, cool.
speaker-1: That's 12 damage. Yeah
speaker-0: All right takes all of it
speaker-1: Okay, and gonna gonna gonna do it again Just great acts be great acts Hoping for a crit. ⁓ it was so close to a crit was so close at the 13
speaker-0: That is a mess. All right, that will be your turn. Two strikes. We got squee up now and squee is going to stay on barashi or barashi and we're going to do some tax here. You know, we're going to just keep things, keep things moving with some scimitar strikes because that's what they got. Here we go. First one.
speaker-2: Thanks.
speaker-0: First one is a 16 that is going to miss because you are a bear. Here comes the second one. That's another miss with a seven. All right. Crit fishing here on their final map.
speaker-1: You just told us you shouldn't go for a third attack.
speaker-0: Yeah, dude. Yes, players should not. That's a whole mess. That's a whole mess. You're a. Yeah, it's gonna cast. Soothe from my scroll from my second level. So the one action to draw the scroll and then two actions to activate the scroll and I'm done.
speaker-1: Yeah, yeah, it's a whole **** mess.
speaker-3: ⁓ she's there
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: All right, we'll go ahead and cast that soothe. Yeah. Targeting Tashi. Nice.
speaker-1: Appreciate that.
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: ⁓ But I can burn, okay, for whatever reason, it's giving me an error that I can't use it because it's a because I think I have it as a second rank spell, but ⁓ I'm burning a scroll, not. Okay, so what you so this you have to cast it as a first rank. Okay. ⁓ I see. ⁓ So you but you didn't click cast, right? I did. Okay. I'm going to give you that spell slot back. In that case, since you're casting off a scroll, you would do the chat box rather than the cast. So it wouldn't use your spell slot, but I got you. I got you all good. So go ahead and roll that healing. How do I roll? There should be a button in chat says roll healing.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: ⁓ Roll the alien. 2 on the die.
speaker-0: Only six points. All right. Well, six six points back to Tashi, which I gave to you, Tashi. And you also get the spell effect of soothe, which would give you a plus two status bonus to saves against mental effects for the duration. So that's great. All right. So good move from fib there. Shell back. You're up.
speaker-1: All right, I might need a little assistance on this. Okay, so last time I used my spellstrike and missed. This time I want to try to use shielding strike, which is my focus spell and that will then recharge my spellstrike. then I can do a spellstrike, but I have to use my map for that.
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: You will not have to use your map. Perfect. Because because the shield. Well, I don't think so. Let's see what. Go ahead. Put your focus spell up there. OK. ⁓
speaker-1: and I have to pick probably Raise Shield.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: and it should roll.
speaker-0: As you attack a foe, okay, so this actually would affect your map because there's an attack involved with it.
speaker-1: So how do I actually do the attack?
speaker-0: Alright, so first click on your token. And then do you have a shield or do you have the spell shield? So click that, raise the shield button. ⁓
speaker-1: I have a shield. on my d- ⁓ in the-
speaker-2: Okay.
speaker-1: Defensive details, which wants it's bringing up
speaker-2: Thanks that do this
speaker-0: I don't know, I didn't actually do the action.
speaker-1: I think I'm just supposed to make a strike.
speaker-0: Well, you should have raised shield as an action.
speaker-1: I do have raise a shield under my shield.
speaker-0: Shoot. I don't see- ⁓ it's because... it's quit, okay.
speaker-1: If your
speaker-2: Building one? Hmm...
speaker-0: ⁓ your shield is like a buckler. ⁓ Well, it's just always it's always up. I believe.
speaker-4: also doesn't count.
speaker-1: it has a raise button and it changes my AC when I click that. But was that going to give me my strikes though?
speaker-0: Okay, well then raise it. No, you raise the shield so you get your shield raise, right? And then make a strike. With anything else. Uh huh.
speaker-1: with the shield or can i strike something up You're in a horn attack. 29th edition.
speaker-0: That is a hit.
speaker-3: Right.
speaker-1: So then I'm gonna roll my damage Which is 1d4 plus 2 for a total of 6 points of damage
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: Alright, very good. So then, now you can attempt your Spellstrike. But you will have to roll this at the map.
speaker-3: ⁓ yeah!
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: Okay, so my spell strikes in, I'm gonna, I've got a, did that work?
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: Yes, now you just make another strike.
speaker-1: Okay, and this time I'm use my horn again.
speaker-2: Yeah
speaker-1: 27 today
speaker-0: ⁓ you did not roll the map ⁓
speaker-1: So take take four off that five of that
speaker-0: 522 to a 22. 22.
speaker-3: Yes.
speaker-1: Yes! Okay, so I'm tilt your hand there. So now I do the damage of my horn.
speaker-2: ⁓
speaker-0: And then the damage of the spell. Now I will say going forward you need to identify the spell that you're going to use before rolling your attack. Right?
speaker-1: Okay, so. Okay, okay, ⁓ let me, let me, ⁓ it's, I have to like juggle. ⁓ I was gonna try...
speaker-0: I seem to recall when we were creating characters, I mentioned certain classes that were fiddly and difficult to deal with. Yes. And now this was at the top of the list.
speaker-1: Yes, and then I like, ⁓ I didn't know. ⁓ I'm going to do I'm going to do live wire as my. And so, ⁓ OK.
speaker-2: spell.
speaker-0: I'll roll the damage for the horn first. Okay.
speaker-1: So that's 1d8 plus 2 piercing. for total of four points.
speaker-0: Alright, and then what spell are you doing?
speaker-1: ⁓ live wire.
speaker-0: Okay, so you can click the text of Livewire and it'll expand it, right? Yep. Actually, no, you need to cast it. forgot because I cast it. All right. So then you're going to want to make the attack. you you don't have to make the attack. You just roll the text.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: while they attack. Same as- ⁓
speaker-2: Sick.
speaker-1: And that's a total of three points of electricity. Is that right? Yeah. So 1d4 of slashing and 1d4 of electricity.
speaker-0: That's three points.
speaker-2: Yeah.
speaker-0: Yeah, so three points total gets added to your strike.
speaker-1: Okay, sweet.
speaker-0: All right. As the end of round two is round three is now the captain's turn again. We're going to stay on Tashi. How dare you? Because you're my hunt to prey. So listen.
speaker-1: That is the end of my turn. It feels nice that I'm special to someone so
speaker-0: So I am going to switch grips back to my great axe
speaker-2: Mmm
speaker-0: Here comes the first attack.
speaker-1: and
speaker-0: That is... uh... uh... I know, my bad. But that's a 20 against Tashi. Oh no. Oh boy. Alright, so here comes some damage. That's 23 points of slashing damage. You're down, No, you're not? Okay. Alright.
speaker-1: Meets Beets
speaker-2: Cool
speaker-1: Alright.
speaker-2: Nah.
speaker-1: Watch it. For what?
speaker-0: What is happening? So down to two. Third action. We're going to swing again with the great acts. Here we go. Here we go. This could be really bad.
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: Not so bad, I think I missed with an 11.
speaker-2: Hey!
speaker-0: Alright, okay. What's scary? Yeah, so that's what was about to say. We're gonna take max damage on that persistent fire. That's 12 points. That hits like these these insults are these burns are serious.
speaker-1: scary moments here.
speaker-2: ⁓ my god.
speaker-0: So it 12 damage and then we're going to make a recovery check. Okay. Pass the recovery check. So no longer burning, but you got some real usage out of that big time Tashi. I'm sorry. Maraji you're up.
speaker-1: Barrazi.
speaker-0: Yeah
speaker-3: You did you did you did speak to all right cool. Raji's going to okay fine Sorry, just a moment. Okay. Mirage is going to strike with his jaws again bear. Ah, is
speaker-0: Hmm Okay, don't forget to target the eye.
speaker-2: target.
speaker-3: I won't forget to target. That's what I'm going to do. That person. What's the word for inspiration?
speaker-0: I'm so proud of
speaker-2: Yes
speaker-0: No, we're looking for some consistency before that happens. ⁓
speaker-3: 21 hit my sir. Please hit.
speaker-0: It hits the pirate for sure, yeah
speaker-2: Yeah
speaker-1: Please the GM
speaker-3: If it pleases the GM, I will now roll for damage.
speaker-0: Of course, I would ask that you do such a thing.
speaker-2: What?
speaker-3: It's nine, it's nine, nine, nine.
speaker-0: Nine damage that's a sizable you take a sizable bite out of squee the pie Squeeze ⁓ and pain ⁓
speaker-1: Crime.
speaker-3: Does he squee? ⁓ I feel kind of bad now. Alright,
speaker-0: Why did you do that?
speaker-3: But as she is not stuck and barrage is gonna cast floating flame on a On this homie here. Alright, so he does that I'm gonna get yelled at but I'm trying to remember how to do it
speaker-0: All right, Well, so here's here's here's what happens. All right. You cast a spell. Unfortunately, this particular creature does have attack of opportunity. Fair enough. So I'm going to make an attack and. If I hit that spell does not go through. So we're learning, Kelly, we're learning again. I gave you the information last turn.
speaker-3: ⁓
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: to take a step away before casting spells. No, I get it, it's like I've around since I that.
speaker-3: to cast it takes two turns to cast floating flame and i wanted to be cool and i it wouldn't have worked fair enough
speaker-0: We'll see, maybe you will. I could miss here, you know, it's very likely. But it looks like instead I do hit with a 27. Fuck!
speaker-3: Let us Yeah, you did. ⁓ no.
speaker-2: Yikes
speaker-0: So the spell is disrupted, but the actions are expended. that'll be your turn and you're gonna take six points of slashing damage.
speaker-3: Cool.
speaker-0: Wow.
speaker-3: Yeah, thanks. Sweet.
speaker-0: I don't know what to tell you. I hope that you learned this time is all I can say. I hope that you learned this time. Be mindful of your positioning when you're casting spells. Now I will remind you to in 2e not all creatures have attacks of opportunity. These pirates just happen to have that so you learn you're learning for the pirate without spending a knowledge check. Now everybody knows that they have attacks of opportunity. Yeah, Tasha you're up.
speaker-1: Thank you for your sacrifice, Brad. Tashi is going to...
speaker-0: Just bear with me, Kelly.
speaker-1: Yeah! No! Ayyy!
speaker-3: Dad puns, dad puns.
speaker-1: I think Tashi being at two hit points. You know what? I am thinking currently and I think I know what I'm gonna do, but I'm just gonna tell you what I'm Tashi does have ⁓ her orc ferocity. So she will stay up if she goes down. I'm, I am thinking that's better to take two actions right now of attacking maybe even three for a crit fish to try and take down this captain or drinking a lesser healing potion and then attacking because, because if I,
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: The only way that this could backfire is if the captain's next two hits, first hit takes me down to one, I'm good, then the next hit takes me down and then I'm down. So that's where I'm at with it. That is where I am at with it. ⁓ I feel like Adam was about to say something.
speaker-2: Mm-hmm.
speaker-0: Say John Today we're learning John
speaker-2: We're learning.
speaker-1: Today we're learning. I think I'm gonna take the Lesser Healing Potion, because I think that will buy me more time in general.
speaker-0: One action, two draw it It's another action to drink it, before you drink it, that has the manipulate tag, which triggers, you guessed it, attack of opportunity, which is not really good for you. ⁓
speaker-1: Pull it out. ⁓ God. That's cool, because I have ferocity,
speaker-0: Okay,
speaker-1: I didn't I didn't realize that manipulate how to ⁓ a ⁓
speaker-0: We're learning today, right? Uh-huh. All right, so that is 28 that's gonna hit it's not a critical hit. Thanks So we're gonna we're gonna we're we're gonna take you down. I mean, you know, that's 11 points whatever So you're you are would technically go to dying one, but because of ferocity you get to bypass that once per day But you do have to take the wounded condition
speaker-1: Good. Correct, and I just did it.
speaker-0: should have one hit point.
speaker-1: I'll put one right now.
speaker-0: Alright, okay, so not great ⁓ So you have one action left. He was not able to consume it. ⁓ opportunity disrupts the action don't can't take two attacks of opportunity
speaker-1: Yeah, so I think I just take it, so I get 2d8 plus 5.
speaker-3: It's one.
speaker-0: But no, no. OK, sure. I was thinking that the attack like cause you to drop the. Oh, know. But it doesn't say it does. You know, it doesn't say that explicitly. Here's what it says explicitly. We can we can have our first will strange rules debate. How about it? Let's do it. It says.
speaker-3: Bye.
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: A creature within the monster's reach uses a manipulate action or move action makes a ranged attack or leaves a square during a move action it's using. The monster, the effect is the monster attempts a melee strike against the triggering creature. If the attack is a critical hit and the trigger was a manipulate action. Okay. It has to be a critical hit. Interesting. So actually disrupts that action. Okay.
speaker-1: So a critical hit does what?
speaker-0: No, I ⁓ the spell should have gone off, okay, so that is that is me thinking starfinder rules not yeah
speaker-1: Regular hit stop You know, because it was not a learning. While we're on that same page, I'm curious. I don't think it does apply. I have to read the spell strike rules, but a lot of my spells.
speaker-0: Today we're learning. So you will yeah for you. You're good. You can you can spell strike all day long because
speaker-1: What about a Spellstrike that is using a spell that is a...
speaker-0: Say you all day long can channel spells through your weapon without triggering opportunity attacks. Yeah, that's that's a benefit of the maggots. However, we do need to go back to the rush because that floating flame would have gotten off. All right. So I want to make sure we're doing this. Yeah, I want to make sure we're doing this right. So the pirate will make a
speaker-3: Okay, I like that, yeah.
speaker-2: Thanks
speaker-0: Reflect Save against this. So let's see, let's see what happens here. All right, good news is I passed. So, but it's not save or suck. So.
speaker-2: ⁓
speaker-0: half or something. Yeah. So, Kelly, you can scroll back up and roll the damage from that floating flame card that's in the chat.
speaker-3: Sorry, forgot to target him.
speaker-0: ⁓ it doesn't matter in this case. So I will take half of that damage. ⁓ OK, so he's still standing, so we got that covered. I did not hit you with the potion, so you get to consume the potion.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: Okay. All right. I'm going to use that potion. Just hit use. Thank you. I'm going to apply healing. Sick. Good. That is 13 HP. So it was one action to pull it out. Got slashed one action as I pulled the cork got hit. Just guzzle it real quick. And then I have one action left. I'm going to use that action.
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: Nice kill there.
speaker-2: So you
speaker-0: Yes. Now here's the, here's the issue.
speaker-1: Talk to me.
speaker-0: you jam you will need to change your grip to a one handed grip on the great axe because you took a hand off to so make sure you do that that's just going to affect your damage here.
speaker-1: Mmm.
speaker-2: Get ready.
speaker-1: But wouldn't that be an act? No, that's a fraction.
speaker-2: ⁓
speaker-0: It is a free action.
speaker-1: Got it. Yep. I'm seeing the thing now. Cool. Now I'm going to strike. ⁓ no, not with that. Cool. Now I'm striking with the great ass.
speaker-0: Axis. ⁓ you can't. So you could use an action to get to get it back in your hand.
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: Yeah, I don't think I can. Right. Or an arm strike.
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: or a number strike, absolutely.
speaker-1: And then I would just free, yeah. I'd rather do that. Try and keep, because you know what? F*** Tatran, they f***ed me.
speaker-0: Okay
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: We got a boxing match going on here guys
speaker-1: Dude, Tashi punches with the same hand that's holding the empty flask. That was the lesser. Just guzzles it. Roll the 19 on the dot.
speaker-0: healing. Nice. I love it. Yeah.
speaker-2: Just
speaker-0: That, before I total up. That's a hit! That's a hit! That's a hit! Vistica.
speaker-2: 28.
speaker-1: Fisty Cuffs! 9 points of damage. 2.
speaker-0: That's Barbarians are sick.
speaker-1: experience to be su-
speaker-0: All right, ⁓ Tatran is still up, but looks pretty, pretty bad. All right. We got it figured out now this time. Guys, we're doing good. We're learning today. We're learning. It is now the pirate's turn that is in front of Barashi. You know what this pirate's gonna do? Same thing they do every time, because that's all they can do. They don't have any cool actions. So here we go. Scimitar is all the way down.
speaker-3: way.
speaker-2: you
speaker-3: Nice.
speaker-0: Alright, first one. 12. Miss. Second one. Rolling like trash. That's a 9. Alright, here comes the third one. No way, dude. No way. That's a three. 1293.
speaker-2: Wow
speaker-1: you
speaker-0: Symmetries are failing me. Feb, you're up.
speaker-2: Excellent.
speaker-0: metagame for a moment. Sure. Shellback, what is your weapon?
speaker-1: ⁓ Well, I have a sword, but I really just use my horn and my shield.
speaker-2: Bye.
speaker-0: I cast runic weapon on his horn. Yes. What kind of damage are you with runic weapon? Or with your... What are you rolling? For damage?
speaker-2: ⁓
speaker-1: My damage is at 1d8 plus 12, but then I also have spells attached to it, so I don't know how to run it.
speaker-0: I'm gonna cat I'm gonna do that. I mean, I'm debating whether or not to throw another like a sonic biting words or cast runic weapon. I'm just gonna go with runic weapons though. That's ⁓
speaker-2: you
speaker-3: I'm gonna be like, ugh, Shelly!
speaker-0: Touch your horn. Start muttering some goblin. And your horn starts to like have these sort of ⁓ ephemeral glimmers of runes that like go up the length of the shaft of your horn. Let's cast that into the chat. Yeah, this is so dope.
speaker-2: Yeah,
speaker-3: Peace. Nice.
speaker-1: in the kitchen.
speaker-0: So I don't have to target him right? I got you Kev, don't worry about it. Just listen to your boy and what awesomeness he's about to put
speaker-1: Yeah, exactly.
speaker-0: So your target, you now have a strike, a plus one striking weapon, gaining one item bonus to attack rolls and increasing the number of weapon damage die by two. I, so I get. Yes, but it's actually on the copesh. I was wrong. It cannot be attached to the. Now, if you want to take this back, you can, but I assume. I'm taking it back.
speaker-1: That is...
speaker-2: Stop!
speaker-3: Gosh.
speaker-0: I asked ahead of time if I could cast it on this horn. mean, that's what I absolutely just so you know, I mean, we're not looking at a whole lot of difference here because the horn also does one D8. So it's the same effect.
speaker-1: The problem is the horn has a plus three hit, like plus three more than to hit. Yeah, so I'm more likely to hit with my horn than I am my sword. Well, now it's plus two because the compass has a plus one.
speaker-0: the Right.
speaker-2: Yeah.
speaker-0: I'm just gonna cast. What did I say before biting words? I'll just attack the captain now. See if I can hurl some more insults at him.
speaker-3: the ship sinks faster than a wick can rise and both descend beyond all hopes of depth. Worthless scallywag.
speaker-0: You
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: Do you take them down?
speaker-3: No.
speaker-0: You got to cast that spell out of your chat. But a 20 does not hit. Sorry. That's right. Okay. Boom. You have one action left. Can I make a suggestion? Yeah.
speaker-2: Are they here?
speaker-0: As a bard, you should be dropping your courageous anthem right at the start of all combats because that gives a plus one to everybody around. So I would suggest doing that. And there's a little there's a little rigor roll that comes about with doing this. So you have lingering composition, which is a free action, which means if your next action is to cast courageous anthem, you can roll a performance check. And if you succeed, the composition lasts for three rounds. If you critically concede.
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: succeed the courageous anthem last for four rounds so first thing I need to do is roll performance check
speaker-2: Bro ⁓
speaker-0: ⁓ that's beautiful. What level are we here guys? We're level three.
speaker-3: you
speaker-2: Yeah
speaker-0: ⁓ let's see. So it's my first time playing a bar. Sorry guys. No, it's good. Great. ⁓ so that's a regular success, but that does increase the courageous anthem to three rounds instead of one. So go ahead and cast that crazy and you're about to see some cool ass shit. You ready?
speaker-1: Yeah, I'm ready.
speaker-0: BOOM! ⁓ I don't have the damn thing installed. Sorry.
speaker-2: ⁓
speaker-1: Oh, I thought like it was going to just go disco colors or something. Yeah
speaker-0: Yeah, it does. I'll make sure to fix that for next time. But the good news is that you all get courageous anthem. That's bad. Affects which is a plus one to attack roles saves damage roles.
speaker-2: Mmm. Right. Wow.
speaker-1: That's attack and damage. Yeah. As. Earlier, we're learning.
speaker-0: It's very nice ⁓
speaker-2: You
speaker-1: Take down the captain shall I she's she's got her shield up and then you see her kind of like duck her head and her her is glowing but then like she kind of like puts her hand in front of her face and her horn goes dim and Then she focuses by closing her eyes and it comes right back to bright like really bright glowing except There's like a swirl around it. So she takes a standard action to ⁓ recharge her ⁓
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: her spell strike and then I'm going to spell strike again. ⁓ And this time I'm going to tell you what I'm going to spell strike with, which I forget what I, I'm going to use gouging claw as my spell. ⁓ And so then she is going to just kind of reach out with her horn and swing it. So I'm going to do, I just click spell strike first.
speaker-2: you
speaker-0: At this point, you can just tell me you're doing a spell strike. Do your attack first.
speaker-1: Okay, doing a spell strike, doing my attack. That is a 28 to hit. So now I'm to do damage, which is now a 1d8 plus 3.
speaker-0: No
speaker-1: So it's 11 points of damage just from the horn alone, but then as that happens the the horn almost like turns into a claw and scratches at the the captain so now I'm going to cast
speaker-2: Bye.
speaker-1: ⁓ And I'm gonna do slashing damage. So roll damage for that And that's what 3d 6 plus 1 plus 3 does that sound right? Okay
speaker-0: Nice Yep. Well, because this is persistent bleed. doesn't actually do it. The plus one is persistent, right?
speaker-1: ⁓ it's not, is it heightened by nature?
speaker-0: It is heightened which is why it went to 3d6
speaker-1: I don't understand height you have to explain it to me some of the time
speaker-0: Okay, I can explain it to you now if you'd So heightened, way that spell casting works in this game is that cantrips automatically heightened with your level, right? So at level three, that means that your cantrips are now being cast at level two. Because think at level three, you get your first second level spell, right? So cantrips are always cast at the highest level that you can cast.
speaker-1: Yeah, yeah, yeah!
speaker-0: You know, and so what it says heightened plus once that means for every level above its starting level you get to add another d6 and another point of persistent bleed damage Right, so we're doing 3d 6 plus 1 is your base damage Which is going to be 10 points damage and that's
speaker-1: That's sick.
speaker-3: Which is
speaker-2: you
speaker-1: 10 points of damage. Top of the 11 I just struck with from the-
speaker-0: It would have bleed and that bleed would be very important if the captain wasn't already dead
speaker-1: That's right, shall I?
speaker-0: Yes, boom shock alaka goes the dynamite the captain
speaker-1: that does.
speaker-2: He's down. Leaving.
speaker-0: One very sad and lonely pirate standing. And Mirage, this thing is, this pirate's been trying to give you grief, but has been missing your giant bear form. Would you like to just eat it for lunch? Call it a day.
speaker-3: But I say what the like would be delighted.
speaker-0: So let's remember to target and then use them jaws baby. Let me get the jaws claws combo.
speaker-3: But I sure
speaker-1: Use that.
speaker-3: So like
speaker-2: you
speaker-3: Here, I will give you sweet release to beat captain
speaker-1: That's Jason.
speaker-0: What would JC do?
speaker-2: You
speaker-1: MIST!
speaker-0: J.C. is a pacifist after all. ⁓
speaker-3: All that talk.
speaker-1: amazing
speaker-3: ⁓ can you?
speaker-1: second.
speaker-2: Yeah
speaker-0: So the claw has is now that you're in your map, I might suggest using the claw because it's less of a penalty because it's agile.
speaker-3: Indeed, Baraj you will do so. Takes a big bear paw and swipes. It's this boy. That's a girl. Sorry, it's a girl, I think. 20!
speaker-0: Mmm. That's better. ⁓ Now we're talking. Let's get some damage.
speaker-1: Now we're talkin'.
speaker-3: Alright, so damage.
speaker-0: Sit down.
speaker-2: slap.
speaker-1: 10
speaker-3: Which is the max for this
speaker-2: Yeah.
speaker-0: You guys have defeated all of the pirates aboard this ship. There's only one thing left to do, which is to set it aflame. Who wants to be the one to do the honors?
speaker-1: Yes we
speaker-0: Fire does what? was ⁓
speaker-2: You
speaker-3: You can eat it.
speaker-1: Amazing.
speaker-0: Speaking of eating fire, what are we doing about the cook? I think he, I think he's going to go down with the ship. All right. So you guys are not telling the cook that you're setting the ship on fire and letting the cook figure it out on the night.
speaker-2: You
speaker-1: I think so. Terror Pirate.
speaker-0: All right. Well, cinematically, you guys are walking away from the boat descending onto your, like descending down into your little rowboat that you came mirage is still at the top and mirage. drops a little fire at the little gunpowder shots that make. jumps off the boat as it explodes with the explosion behind Marashi and the cat and the bear form and his little cat comes. And you see the cook get shot out into the air by the explosion. It flies out like ⁓ his butt's on fire. He's not completely encased in flames, but he to take His apron or whatever is on fire and he like gets cast shot out into the ocean and falls in the ocean. You know, with the water stops the fire, but he's now treading water several, several ⁓ meters out into the ocean. And you guys look bad as as Marashi like cat lands on the boat. And that's our game. And we'll see.
speaker-1: Wow, amazing cinematic, amazing finish to the mission.
speaker-0: I- what happened to the cauldron?
speaker-1: It lands on the boat. It lands on the boat.
speaker-0: Yeah! Does it land on the Goblin's head?
