ABOUT THIS EPISODE

After his second film "The Elephant Man" garnered 8 Oscar nominations, David Lynch got sucked into doing what everyone hoped would be the next "Star Wars". Instead of accolades, "Dune" 1984 got dunked on by everyone and broke Lynch's spirit. In "Dune" 1984, a Duke's son leads desert warriors against the galactic emperor and his father's evil nemesis to free their desert world from the emperor's rule. There's weaponized sound, a lecherous baron that wants to pull your blood plug, worms that produce hallucinogens and interstellar travel, the late Patrick Stewart in scifi role way before "Star Trek", and a whole lot of style. Did "Dune" 84 deserve the scorn or did it come out too close to "Star Wars"? Tune in and find out!#dune #dune1984 #dune84 #davidlynch #scifi #starwars #kylemaclachlan #virginiamadsen #JürgenProchnow #patrickstewart
