Semifinal Showdown: Bears vs Raiders in NT Thriller

WEBVTT
00:00:00.435 --> 00:00:05.037
Thanks, Costo. No Senior Rugby League to report this weekend in the NRL Northern
00:00:05.037 --> 00:00:08.173
Territory. It was a bye weekend for our junior semifinals.
00:00:08.411 --> 00:00:13.477
So let's preview next weekend's semifinals in the NRL Northern Territory.
00:00:13.477 --> 00:00:17.487
And the Elimination Miner semi-final will feature the Litchfield Bears,
00:00:17.487 --> 00:00:20.837
the rural team, up against the Palmerston Raiders. Palmerston,
00:00:20.837 --> 00:00:23.371
that's a satellite city just outside of Darwin.
00:00:23.626 --> 00:00:26.093
This is the toughest game of the weekend to tip a winner.
00:00:26.349 --> 00:00:30.476
Both teams have had a real rollercoaster of a ride season in 26.
00:00:30.743 --> 00:00:34.215
The Raiders, they won the clash between the two clubs by two points.
00:00:34.511 --> 00:00:40.606
The Bears took out round seven and then Palmerston charged back to win 38 points to 20 in round 12.
00:00:40.861 --> 00:00:44.396
Incredible matchups between these two clubs and a fierce rivalry.
00:00:44.640 --> 00:00:47.508
Harry Heath and Brodie Morecambe in the halves for the Bears.
00:00:47.769 --> 00:00:51.252
Up against Jack Walsh and Bradley Hanson in the halves for the Raiders.
00:00:51.496 --> 00:00:56.609
At fullback, Eli Pomeroy, fresh off his seven-try game in round 15 for the Bears.
00:00:56.864 --> 00:01:00.477
He'll battle Houlihan for the Raiders. And in the middle, it's going to be an
00:01:00.477 --> 00:01:04.627
absolutely brutal engine room clash between the likes of Suarez,
00:01:04.627 --> 00:01:06.967
Harris and Wonga for the Raiders.
00:01:06.967 --> 00:01:10.287
Up against the Bears, Burgess, Jensen, Bannister, Mahud.
00:01:10.287 --> 00:01:15.117
So many Bears forwards they're absolute workhorses as I said toughest game to
00:01:15.117 --> 00:01:17.357
tip on the cards if I have to tip a winner.
00:01:17.757 --> 00:01:21.667
I will tip the Bears to edge out the Raiders in a nail biter you can pick this
00:01:21.667 --> 00:01:26.057
one up on the live stream so just check out the NRL Northern Territory social
00:01:26.057 --> 00:01:27.901
media pages for more details there
00:01:28.220 --> 00:01:32.437
and in the major semi-final the undefeated minor premiers two-time defending
00:01:32.437 --> 00:01:36.897
champions Darwin Brothers they will square off against the second place Northern
00:01:36.897 --> 00:01:41.297
Sharks now the sharks they missed the finals last year they finished fifth they
00:01:41.297 --> 00:01:42.557
finished second this year so
00:01:42.897 --> 00:01:47.317
full credit to them but they they absolutely got a mountain to climb coming
00:01:47.317 --> 00:01:51.533
up against brothers and the sharks they came off that really tough loss to brothers
00:01:51.635 --> 00:01:56.008
in round 15 the sharks they were missing a number of their regular starters
00:01:56.281 --> 00:01:58.494
and brothers they did rack up a cricket score.
00:01:58.997 --> 00:02:05.011
Brothers, they've been amazing all season. Their differential has ended up plus 574.
00:02:05.313 --> 00:02:09.481
They've scored 684 points and have only conceded 110.
00:02:09.788 --> 00:02:14.252
They'll simply punish any mistakes that a team makes. They defend like a brick wall.
00:02:14.490 --> 00:02:17.848
And when it comes to tries, they can score them from anywhere on the park.
00:02:17.848 --> 00:02:20.144
So really, how do you stop that, Kosto?
00:02:20.400 --> 00:02:24.488
And the Sharks, they will rely on the firepower from Hall, Monroe,
00:02:24.488 --> 00:02:27.070
Colley, Mick, Zaru. They've got a really good squad.
00:02:27.273 --> 00:02:30.285
Colling as well, and the youngster, Samuel Risaku.
00:02:30.506 --> 00:02:33.867
But brothers, they're a well-oiled machine from 1 through to 13,
00:02:34.151 --> 00:02:38.592
plus the depth they have on the bench and in reserve grade. It's simply exceptional.
00:02:38.877 --> 00:02:42.853
Coach Leon Cleal, he's got so many dynamic options to select from.
00:02:43.508 --> 00:02:46.818
Elijah Coombs, he's been one of their best up front. Aaron Kernoth,
00:02:46.818 --> 00:02:50.876
he's the general. Antonio James, the fullback, great kick returner.
00:02:51.148 --> 00:02:55.498
Cairo Armat, Jared Northam, Colton, Nicky, they're all firing at this stage
00:02:55.498 --> 00:02:59.778
of the season, as you would expect so I am tipping brothers to advance straight
00:02:59.778 --> 00:03:03.951
through to the big dance and send the Sharks into next weekend's preliminary final
00:03:04.224 --> 00:03:06.461
and costo this game's also streamed,
00:03:06.984 --> 00:03:10.768
so just check out the NRL Northern Territory social media pages and you'll get
00:03:10.768 --> 00:03:13.678
all the details how you can pick up the live stream and I'll give you a full
00:03:13.678 --> 00:03:15.338
wrap up next time we speak.
