The Washington Commanders just received the biggest piece of news they've been waiting for. Jayden Daniels is full go. Commanders offensive coordinator David Blough confirmed that Daniels is practicing fully and is expected to start Sunday against the New York Giants. Sean Anderson breaks down what the news means for Washington's Week 5 matchup, the rest of the season and the Commanders' playoff hopes. Daniels has been practicing in a brace after suffering a dislocated elbow, but the injury is to his non-throwing arm. Sean believes the brace is the best possible situation for Daniels as he works his way back onto the field. Daniels' return completely changes the outlook for the Giants game. Washington enters the matchup at 1-3, while New York sits at 3-1 and leads the NFC East. But Sean believes the Giants are good enough to beat Washington if the Commanders are forced to play a backup quarterback. With Daniels back, Washington's offense has the quarterback it was built around. Sean also addresses the comparisons between Daniels and former Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III, arguing that the two quarterbacks are very different in both personality and playing style. He believes Daniels has shown a much different approach and doesn't think the constant RG3 comparisons are fair. The Giants matchup is now even more important for Washington. Sean said during the preseason that the Giants series could determine whether the Commanders make the playoffs. At 1-3, that statement is even more important now. A win over New York would move Washington to 2-3, while sweeping the Giants would put the Commanders in a much stronger position in the NFC East. Washington is also getting healthier elsewhere. Sam Cosmi returned to practice in a regular jersey, while Trey Amos, Dietrich Enagbare and Jeremy McNichols have all opened their 21-day return windows from injured reserve. Sean believes the Commanders are trending in the right direction at exactly the right time. After the Giants, Washington faces San Francisco before its bye week and then Philadelphia — a stretch that could completely change the trajectory of the season. But first, Jayden Daniels needs to lead Washington past New York. Can Daniels return and immediately look like himself? Can Washington take advantage of Jameis Winston? Can the Commanders sweep the Giants? And does Jayden Daniels' return put Washington right back into the playoff race? Sean Anderson breaks down the massive Jayden Daniels update and what it means for the Commanders.
