WEBVTT
00:00:46.719 --> 00:00:50.000
You can find us wherever you can see.
00:01:32.480 --> 00:01:33.439
It's June in the moon.
00:01:35.519 --> 00:01:38.879
Now, first of all, I just want to say happy birthday to my lovely sister.
00:01:39.280 --> 00:01:40.000
Happy birthday.
00:01:41.359 --> 00:01:44.000
Even though it was yesterday, I just want to say happy birthday.
00:01:44.159 --> 00:01:45.599
Look at those lovely roses.
00:01:48.319 --> 00:01:49.439
And I also want to thank you.
00:01:51.519 --> 00:01:58.000
I want to thank her so much for allowing me to have this spot this morning.
00:01:59.040 --> 00:02:17.039
And before we go into our subject, I just want to see every listening out there to please open up, open up your heart, your ears, because this is a very, very serious subject that we're about to uh embark on.
00:02:17.199 --> 00:02:17.680
Yes.
00:02:18.319 --> 00:02:21.039
I say that because I lived it.
00:02:22.400 --> 00:02:26.479
And I feel through this lesson that I'm still going through something.
00:02:27.759 --> 00:02:30.159
So I just need y'all's prayers.
00:02:31.280 --> 00:02:32.719
Because God is so awesome.
00:02:32.800 --> 00:02:35.039
And uh thank you again, June, for this opportunity to do that.
00:02:35.360 --> 00:02:35.759
Thank you, Jesus.
00:02:35.919 --> 00:02:37.120
I'm trying to keep my composure.
00:02:37.360 --> 00:02:38.000
That's all right.
00:02:38.240 --> 00:02:40.000
But um, this thing is real, y'all.
00:02:40.479 --> 00:02:41.039
Oh, it is.
00:02:41.520 --> 00:02:44.000
And then we're gonna be talking about brokenness.
00:02:45.039 --> 00:02:47.439
Um second though.
00:02:49.120 --> 00:02:49.919
Oh, I'm sorry, yeah.
00:02:50.159 --> 00:02:50.800
Oh, you're fine.
00:02:50.960 --> 00:02:52.240
See, that's why I'm gonna be able to do it.
00:02:53.759 --> 00:02:54.639
Okay, yeah.
00:02:54.960 --> 00:02:56.960
By the way, this is Antoine speaking.
00:02:57.120 --> 00:03:03.039
Hope everybody's having a good day out there, and another happy birthday to my wonderful, beautiful mother over to the side of the room.
00:03:03.840 --> 00:03:05.039
Amen, amen.
00:03:06.960 --> 00:03:10.479
And I'm Richard Shaw, and I'm just glad to be here.
00:03:10.560 --> 00:03:14.159
And again, happy birthday to the greatest godmother of all time.
00:03:14.800 --> 00:03:15.360
Mercy, thank you.
00:03:15.919 --> 00:03:16.560
Definitely to go.
00:03:16.800 --> 00:03:17.520
Thank you, Jesus.
00:03:18.080 --> 00:03:21.280
I'm June in the room, and I'm so humbled.
00:03:21.439 --> 00:03:26.400
Uh, I know it's just a blessing to be here.
00:03:26.879 --> 00:03:29.520
Uh, I'm just thankful for this podcast.
00:03:29.599 --> 00:03:36.479
I'm thankful for uh Pat, Antoine, and Rich, my godsons, they spoil me so much.
00:03:36.639 --> 00:03:38.560
These are roses from my son.
00:03:39.360 --> 00:03:44.080
And then my son, my other son, is taking me to see the thorn this afternoon.
00:03:44.319 --> 00:03:48.560
So I'm just a blessed, I'm a happy camper today.
00:03:49.039 --> 00:03:50.159
Thank you, Jesus.
00:03:50.560 --> 00:03:51.120
Yes.
00:03:51.439 --> 00:03:52.080
All right.
00:03:53.280 --> 00:03:56.080
So, and thank you so much, Antoine.
00:03:56.400 --> 00:03:57.759
They're trying to loosen me up.
00:03:58.080 --> 00:03:59.199
I know what y'all are doing.
00:03:59.680 --> 00:04:02.240
Thank you so much for reminding me of that.
00:04:02.400 --> 00:04:08.159
Um, but um, when you think about brokenness, you have to think about broken first.
00:04:08.319 --> 00:04:24.160
Yes, you know, um broken by itself, uh, it's just it's just uh a deep emotional uh pain or or some type of um damage that's have been done to you.
00:04:24.959 --> 00:04:33.839
Um and it's also uh external uh trauma or internal failure of some sort on your own doing.
00:04:35.120 --> 00:04:40.800
Um thinking about that um it affects the heart.
00:04:41.759 --> 00:04:55.759
When you when you're broken, you think about uh when you were younger, and I I won't get into that a little bit more, but when we were younger, you know, we got our hearts broke a whole lot, especially when we was um expecting something, you know.
00:04:56.000 --> 00:05:01.600
Uh like your parents say, well, if you do this and do that, you know, uh I'm gonna get you something or what?
00:05:01.680 --> 00:05:03.199
And you you expecting it, right?
00:05:03.759 --> 00:05:05.920
It don't come, your heart be so broken.
00:05:06.399 --> 00:05:07.439
You know what I mean?
00:05:07.600 --> 00:05:09.199
And sometimes we carry that.
00:05:09.360 --> 00:05:13.040
We carry that too long till it becomes brokenness.
00:05:13.199 --> 00:05:16.319
And what when I say brokenness, that that means you haven't let go.
00:05:16.399 --> 00:05:27.439
It you can't lose from that and it become a stronghold because what you're doing inside or what's going on inside of you is gonna come out and you're gonna start reacting.
00:05:27.680 --> 00:05:35.759
And just to tell a little bit about the natural part of being broken, is that my life, uh, I was in a foster home.
00:05:35.839 --> 00:05:45.759
I couldn't understand uh at eight years old why why I'm in a foster home and the rest of my similians, nine of them, is still at home, you know, that broke me.
00:05:46.240 --> 00:05:49.040
It really, really broke my heart because I couldn't understand.
00:05:49.680 --> 00:06:01.040
Come to find out by hearing, you know, hearing things that, you know, I was bad, uh, you know, just unruly, uh, you know, I wouldn't never listen, and different stuff like that.
00:06:01.120 --> 00:06:03.519
And I did have ADHD, I really did.
00:06:03.600 --> 00:06:04.800
I I I know that.
00:06:04.959 --> 00:06:10.240
And when somebody jumped off a roof and turn them back, was flip onto some, you know, something is going on with them.
00:06:11.199 --> 00:06:11.519
Yeah.
00:06:12.399 --> 00:06:14.480
Climbing trees and jumping out of trees.
00:06:15.199 --> 00:06:17.040
Yeah, some something going on.
00:06:17.600 --> 00:06:20.000
Uh that's normal for a boy, I believe.
00:06:20.240 --> 00:06:28.800
But um just thinking about that and sitting there, sitting there in the corner with a dog, you know, like this this don't feel good.
00:06:29.439 --> 00:06:32.959
So being broken, it it makes you feel so, so bad.
00:06:33.279 --> 00:06:39.519
And it became uh anger in me, bitterness, unforgiveness for a long time.
00:06:40.319 --> 00:06:45.199
Um, and so that's that's part of um the brokenness that I want to talk about today.
00:06:45.439 --> 00:06:46.879
The that natural part.
00:06:47.439 --> 00:06:57.680
And then I want to stop here too and open up to the panelists that and ask you guys, you know, what do you think about the natural part of being broken?
00:06:58.399 --> 00:07:09.439
Because we we're gonna go into the spiritual part, but let's talk about these natural things, you know, what happens to children um at a young age and stuff like that, the trauma.
00:07:12.319 --> 00:07:33.120
I'll start with uh a couple of things that I've gone went through in my childhood that I've prayed about uh because here lately, uh the last over the last month and a half, I've been praying and I asked God to reveal what needs to be healed inside of me that I forgot about.
00:07:33.360 --> 00:07:39.360
And one thing that I remembered uh that came to my mind is just having a granddaughter.
00:07:39.680 --> 00:07:49.040
Um my friend of 40 years reminded me last night that um my granddaughter is spoiled.
00:07:51.600 --> 00:07:57.439
But what I'm getting at is when I was her age, I was obese.
00:07:58.720 --> 00:08:01.360
Um there was no clothes that I could wear.
00:08:01.519 --> 00:08:04.639
Figure I was in the the 60s and early 70s.
00:08:04.800 --> 00:08:11.040
So back then they didn't have plus size clothing for girls.
00:08:11.360 --> 00:08:28.079
So I was broken because I got taunt taunted and made fun of my because I had eczema and I was overweight, and uh I went through a period of depression in my teens where I actually just stopped going to school.
00:08:28.240 --> 00:08:29.759
I wouldn't get out of the bed.
00:08:31.199 --> 00:08:37.039
And uh my mother used to sweep up piles of my skin, literally.
00:08:37.440 --> 00:08:45.440
And uh they prayed for me over me uh because uh I was just in a I was broken.
00:08:46.159 --> 00:09:01.840
You know, and um when I came out of it, uh I felt better because once I got out of the bed, I had lost weight and I was able to wear different clothes.
00:09:02.000 --> 00:09:07.600
So that kind of helped my self-esteem, but I still dealt with the uh problem of having eczema.
00:09:07.679 --> 00:09:12.480
That broke me, you know, because I was like, Lord, why do I have to have eczema?
00:09:13.279 --> 00:09:16.159
And I I wore long sleeves till I was 40.
00:09:16.240 --> 00:09:17.919
Y'all probably don't even realize that.
00:09:18.080 --> 00:09:26.960
I wore long sleeves until I was 40 years old, because I lived in a state of brokenness and self-consciousness at the same time.
00:09:27.759 --> 00:09:35.200
But this really, that's why I said the brokenness uh is really relevant for today.
00:09:35.360 --> 00:09:47.360
It is because a lot of people are going through, believers, which I'm talking about now, a lot of believers are going through the brokenness that they don't even realize.
00:09:47.519 --> 00:10:06.720
What Pat just said, you it's for your family, for your mom or your mom and dad to make sure that you were given away, you know, that had to put you mentally and physically, you know, in a state of dang, absolutely it breaks you down, yeah, is what I'm getting at.
00:10:06.879 --> 00:10:07.759
Yeah, it does.
00:10:08.240 --> 00:10:08.559
It does.
00:10:08.799 --> 00:10:13.200
That was that's what resonated with me as being when I was a child.
00:10:13.440 --> 00:10:14.799
Yeah, my God.
00:10:15.039 --> 00:10:15.440
True.
00:10:16.080 --> 00:10:27.519
That's a deep one, especially once you go into childhood, because the one thing that that I learned later, a lot of different ways that we handle things in life, especially as we get older, is extends from then.
00:10:28.559 --> 00:10:38.399
And I had just to keep it uh real plain to try to keep it fast, I could say there's two key things that that broke me as a child.
00:10:38.639 --> 00:10:44.159
The first, well, and the the first thing I'm gonna say was a motivational thing as I grew older.
00:10:44.320 --> 00:10:49.519
But the the first thing was just the broken promises of my father saying he's gonna come be there.
00:10:50.080 --> 00:10:50.399
Come on.
00:10:50.639 --> 00:10:54.399
And sitting there at that window or door just waiting.
00:10:54.639 --> 00:11:08.720
Yep, and wondering what did I do wrong and all these different things as a child, because that's the natural you're gonna think it's you and not per se the other person, especially as a child, because you don't know any better.
00:11:08.799 --> 00:11:09.039
Yeah.
00:11:09.600 --> 00:11:13.919
But the key part of that it motivated me to be where I'm at now, the polar opposite of that.
00:11:14.159 --> 00:11:14.320
Amen.
00:11:14.960 --> 00:11:22.320
To make sure to endure the storms I went through to even get my daughter when it could have been so easily to say, forget it.
00:11:22.879 --> 00:11:28.159
But that was something through brokenness just to give some hope on the aspect of that.
00:11:28.480 --> 00:11:33.279
That was one thing that honestly meant, then the second thing was going through a lot of death at a young age.
00:11:34.240 --> 00:11:44.320
Um, growing up and with a having a large family and losing a lot of aunties and uncles to by the time I even I think maybe even a teenager.
00:11:44.799 --> 00:11:56.399
Just seeing like certain families lose um limbs and and some just passing away from whether it be maybe cancer or health issues of or not taking care of self.
00:11:56.720 --> 00:12:06.320
And again, those different things is what pushed me to be more into health and be, and even got into it because I wanted to kill that stigma within my family.
00:12:06.639 --> 00:12:14.960
But just saying my grandmothers was the two most impactful when it comes to the death thing, and it impacted me farther in life.
00:12:15.120 --> 00:12:20.320
To where, and even back then, when I was a kid, I took it out as what you said, anger.
00:12:20.639 --> 00:12:30.159
And it turned the things psychologically where when things of sadness, for most people, they may cry or feel like a worry feeling.
00:12:30.240 --> 00:12:32.879
It brought rage and anger out of me.
00:12:32.960 --> 00:12:33.120
Yeah.
00:12:33.279 --> 00:12:43.679
So I started bullying and acting up at school, and and lo and behold, I said, God is always good because my mother put me in football and I got into weight training.
00:12:43.759 --> 00:12:49.440
So that was another form of way for me to release that instead of letting my anger out on others.
00:12:49.600 --> 00:12:50.000
That's right.
00:12:50.399 --> 00:12:56.000
But even farther than that, just to wind out to the end, even farther in life is still impacting me.
00:12:56.080 --> 00:12:59.200
Because even like now I'm doing good today, because I ain't even cry talking about it.
00:12:59.360 --> 00:12:59.919
She knows that.
00:13:00.480 --> 00:13:02.879
That's how I know the impact of my grandmothers on me.
00:13:02.960 --> 00:13:03.039
Yes.
00:13:03.360 --> 00:13:06.960
Because it'd be hard for me to talk about them without even shedding a tears.
00:13:08.080 --> 00:13:12.080
But that let me know that I just showed me that I'm a little bit farther, because I can do it without crying.
00:13:12.159 --> 00:13:12.320
Yeah.
00:13:12.960 --> 00:13:18.559
But just going through those different things, life broke me and it it made me look in the mirror more as I got older.
00:13:18.960 --> 00:13:26.080
Because even though I was older and football was gone, weight training wasn't every day, that anger came back.
00:13:26.559 --> 00:13:27.840
Depression came in.
00:13:28.240 --> 00:13:43.120
I invited the enemy in in the wrong way, going to the bottle or going to sitting like with my mom, similar to my mom said, sitting in the house in the dark, just drinking, crying, facing adverse times instead of where I'm at now, where I know what to do.
00:13:43.279 --> 00:13:45.759
Then I knew what to do, but I just didn't choose to.
00:13:46.240 --> 00:13:48.639
Because it was always putting at me from the way I was raised.
00:13:49.200 --> 00:13:56.240
But going through those different storms in life, for one, but we're gonna get to later, the brokenness, it helps build you.
00:13:56.879 --> 00:14:04.000
And the key part is keeping God first and asking for revelations of the things, such as what my mom said, to help us get past those things.
00:14:04.080 --> 00:14:04.720
Yes, right.
00:14:04.879 --> 00:14:05.200
Amen.
00:14:05.519 --> 00:14:06.879
Can I interject one more?
00:14:07.279 --> 00:14:11.519
I wanted to reiterate, uh, because I said my granddaughter was spoiled.
00:14:11.679 --> 00:14:36.799
The reason why, the reason why is because when you are uh a lot of times when you're preteens and teens, early teens, you get you go through a transition physically and your emotions, and and she went through that state of being, I'm ugly, nah nah.
00:14:36.879 --> 00:14:39.279
No, you're not girl, as pretty as you are.
00:14:39.600 --> 00:14:46.240
And and I I made, I told my son years ago, I I know it was discernment, cutting it short.
00:14:46.399 --> 00:14:51.039
I knew that he was going to have a little daughter with red hair.
00:14:51.440 --> 00:14:57.440
I kept telling him that even when you were a teenager, you're gonna have a daughter and she's gonna have red hair.
00:14:57.679 --> 00:14:59.440
And boom, here we go.
00:14:59.600 --> 00:15:08.080
But I made a vow back then I didn't have two nickels to rub together, like Craig used to say on the uh Snoot Sandwich.
00:15:08.399 --> 00:15:16.399
But I said, I'm gonna, I'm gonna make sure if I have a granddaughter, she's gonna be clean and she is going to represent.
00:15:16.559 --> 00:15:25.440
And that's what I God has blessed me with enough income to be able to make sure that she doesn't be self-conscious like that.
00:15:25.600 --> 00:15:26.399
You know what I mean?
00:15:26.559 --> 00:15:27.919
And and I did just hit me.
00:15:28.080 --> 00:15:30.480
That's why, yeah, she be clean too.
00:15:30.559 --> 00:15:31.840
She told me this, all right.
00:15:31.919 --> 00:15:32.720
Yeah, amen.
00:15:33.039 --> 00:15:33.200
Sorry.
00:15:34.159 --> 00:15:36.000
No, but I think a lot of kids go through that too, though.
00:15:36.159 --> 00:15:36.720
That's the key thing.
00:15:37.279 --> 00:15:40.720
Kids gonna go through those different times, it's brokenness.
00:15:40.799 --> 00:15:52.960
Um a state of being badly damaged, emotionally shattered, or deeply humbled to the point of realizing one's own limitations and need for healing.
00:15:53.519 --> 00:16:01.519
The term carries distinct meanings depending on whether it's used in everyday life, psychology, or a spiritual context.
00:16:02.240 --> 00:16:11.840
So when I was researching this, it it it's it's wild how you guys just brought up a whole different side of this.
00:16:12.000 --> 00:16:23.200
Yes, you know, like a uh a real deep internal reflection of the things and remembering the things that uh in areas where you were broken.
00:16:23.360 --> 00:16:31.200
And researching this, I never went to that side until y'all just started to share it.
00:16:31.360 --> 00:16:38.559
And it made me say, okay, where were some of the the areas where I were where I was broken or feeling broken?
00:16:39.120 --> 00:16:42.320
Like, man, not having much.
00:16:42.639 --> 00:16:47.200
Um I remember when we had to go live in my grandmother's basement.
00:16:47.279 --> 00:16:50.240
We had shower curtains divided as bedrooms.
00:16:50.720 --> 00:16:54.799
You know, uh and you know, it was whispers throughout the family.
00:16:55.039 --> 00:16:56.320
Yeah, I said it.
00:16:56.879 --> 00:16:59.440
Um and I stand on it.
00:16:59.679 --> 00:17:15.519
Um but I had certain people like my friends I grew up with never um that's okay, brother.
00:17:15.680 --> 00:17:16.640
Thank you, Jesus.
00:17:21.119 --> 00:17:21.519
Thank you.
00:17:25.119 --> 00:17:30.559
Thank you, Jesus Thank you, Jesus never made fun of me.
00:17:31.119 --> 00:17:32.240
Thank you, Jesus.
00:17:33.920 --> 00:17:34.960
My brother.
00:17:36.000 --> 00:17:37.200
Thank you, Jesus.
00:17:37.519 --> 00:17:39.440
Well then the shares closed with me.
00:17:40.000 --> 00:17:40.960
Thank you, Jesus.
00:17:41.119 --> 00:17:41.440
Yeah.
00:17:42.319 --> 00:17:43.200
Love you, bro.
00:17:43.680 --> 00:17:44.720
Love you too, my James.
00:17:45.359 --> 00:17:45.599
Amen.
00:17:47.519 --> 00:17:47.920
Come on.
00:17:48.240 --> 00:17:49.039
It's all right.
00:17:49.200 --> 00:17:49.839
It's okay.
00:17:50.400 --> 00:17:54.079
It led me to street activity.
00:17:54.319 --> 00:17:55.359
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:17:55.839 --> 00:17:59.440
I knew I had no business out there hustling.
00:18:01.920 --> 00:18:02.240
Thank you.
00:18:02.640 --> 00:18:04.799
But I didn't want to be a burden to my parents.
00:18:07.200 --> 00:18:10.319
Trying to get the things my friends had.
00:18:11.680 --> 00:18:12.960
Nice clothes.
00:18:14.079 --> 00:18:15.200
Yeah, yeah.
00:18:17.599 --> 00:18:19.359
This is healing understanding.
00:18:19.680 --> 00:18:20.799
Thank you, Jesus.
00:18:21.599 --> 00:18:22.799
Thank you, Lord.
00:18:24.160 --> 00:18:24.960
Hi, mother.
00:18:25.599 --> 00:18:26.640
Thank you, Lord.
00:18:28.480 --> 00:18:30.160
You deserve more flowers than that.
00:18:30.559 --> 00:18:31.119
Yes, you do.
00:18:31.440 --> 00:18:32.319
Yes, you do.
00:18:33.359 --> 00:18:33.839
Yeah.
00:18:34.240 --> 00:18:41.039
Because the first time I had my own bedroom was at her house.
00:18:43.519 --> 00:18:47.680
I don't know if she ever knew how much that meant to me.
00:18:50.240 --> 00:18:50.960
That's okay.
00:18:51.440 --> 00:18:53.920
Being able to come to her house every weekend.
00:18:54.480 --> 00:18:55.519
Thank you, Jesus.
00:18:57.359 --> 00:18:59.359
Never being turned away.
00:19:00.000 --> 00:19:02.079
Even when we were in trouble.
00:19:02.880 --> 00:19:03.920
One time I did.
00:19:05.440 --> 00:19:06.240
Yeah, I really didn't know.
00:19:06.400 --> 00:19:07.599
It was on and only one time.
00:19:09.680 --> 00:19:10.400
Lord, I'm mercy.
00:19:10.720 --> 00:19:11.119
That's all right.
00:19:11.279 --> 00:19:12.160
That's beautiful though.
00:19:12.240 --> 00:19:12.799
That's beautiful.
00:19:12.960 --> 00:19:13.599
Thank you, Jesus.
00:19:13.839 --> 00:19:14.160
Wow.
00:19:15.279 --> 00:19:17.039
This is healing.
00:19:17.599 --> 00:19:22.880
That's why I knew uh the real meaning of a godmother.
00:19:23.839 --> 00:19:29.119
Like the cause when my mom went on to glory.
00:19:34.160 --> 00:19:36.480
And my siblings understand it.
00:19:40.079 --> 00:19:44.079
That understood what it was to make room for my godmother.
00:19:44.559 --> 00:19:46.160
She would always be there.
00:19:52.240 --> 00:19:53.200
Thank you, Jesus.
00:19:53.599 --> 00:19:54.319
Brokenness.
00:19:54.640 --> 00:19:55.519
Thank you, Jesus.
00:19:55.920 --> 00:19:56.319
Thank you.
00:19:56.960 --> 00:20:02.640
Sometimes uh I had a lot of I was good at writing music.
00:20:08.640 --> 00:20:09.759
Things I was doing.
00:20:11.119 --> 00:20:12.880
Having an addict father.
00:20:17.359 --> 00:20:19.039
They just talk about you.
00:20:23.039 --> 00:20:24.480
Trying to treat you differently.
00:20:24.720 --> 00:20:26.000
They treat you similar.
00:20:27.119 --> 00:20:28.319
It's divisive.
00:20:30.400 --> 00:20:32.079
But I never stood for that.
00:20:33.440 --> 00:20:39.440
I remember telling a family member you might as well treat me like you treat them.
00:20:39.920 --> 00:20:40.400
Come on.
00:20:41.440 --> 00:20:46.799
Because I remember my mother saying one day all y'all gonna have is y'all.
00:20:48.400 --> 00:20:50.240
Even when you ain't got nothing.
00:20:50.640 --> 00:20:51.359
Thank you, James.
00:20:51.599 --> 00:20:52.160
I told you.
00:20:52.559 --> 00:21:02.960
So I'm thankful to Father for when I was going into the areas of employment.
00:21:03.920 --> 00:21:08.319
Maybe fugal with my money and to look after my family members.
00:21:08.880 --> 00:21:11.920
It wasn't nothing that they couldn't get from me.
00:21:12.880 --> 00:21:16.880
Because I know what it was like to not have.
00:21:17.359 --> 00:21:19.359
And I always share it with my wife.
00:21:20.559 --> 00:21:22.640
I know what zero look like.
00:21:23.119 --> 00:21:23.759
Come on.
00:21:24.160 --> 00:21:24.640
Come on.
00:21:24.880 --> 00:21:25.680
Thank you, Jesus.
00:21:26.079 --> 00:21:26.559
Thank you, Lord.
00:21:27.119 --> 00:21:27.759
Thank you, Lord.
00:21:27.920 --> 00:21:28.480
Yeah, yeah.
00:21:28.640 --> 00:21:30.079
You're worthy, Father.
00:21:30.240 --> 00:21:30.480
Yeah.
00:21:30.720 --> 00:21:35.599
And with God's help, I'm never going back to that.
00:21:35.920 --> 00:21:36.319
Yes.
00:21:36.559 --> 00:21:37.759
Thank you, Jesus.
00:21:38.160 --> 00:21:39.200
Beautiful.
00:21:39.599 --> 00:21:43.839
So yeah, Miss Bet, I thank you for this uh topic, Carrie.
00:21:44.000 --> 00:21:44.160
Yeah.
00:21:44.640 --> 00:21:45.279
Brokenness.
00:21:45.680 --> 00:21:50.160
Because uh sometimes we we just bury it in our subconscious.
00:21:50.400 --> 00:21:50.559
Yes.
00:21:51.440 --> 00:21:52.000
Oh no.
00:21:55.440 --> 00:21:58.880
No, we're still on the narrow part because that's part of the heart.
00:22:00.240 --> 00:22:03.359
I just want you to finish up so I can go ahead and finish this.
00:22:04.880 --> 00:22:14.720
So we're actually talking about the natural part of brokenness, the natural part, what's in that heart, what holds us, you know, back.
00:22:14.960 --> 00:22:21.200
Um it is not a primary basic emotion, y'all.
00:22:21.359 --> 00:22:21.920
Yes.
00:22:22.079 --> 00:22:28.319
But it's rather a complex state of being overwhelmed with pain and despair.
00:22:28.640 --> 00:22:38.240
And it develops into the brokenness because we haven't dealt with the element that broke that um caused us to break.
00:22:38.880 --> 00:22:39.920
We haven't dealt with it.
00:22:40.960 --> 00:22:43.519
Brokenness is a universal thing.
00:22:43.839 --> 00:22:54.240
So know this that everybody born into this world will experience some point, at some point, will experience a time of brokenness.
00:22:54.400 --> 00:22:54.799
Yes.
00:22:55.680 --> 00:23:02.000
And uh in in the research I looked up, um there are more than 66%.
00:23:04.160 --> 00:23:09.920
That's three uh two-thirds of children that have experienced being broken already.
00:23:12.720 --> 00:23:24.880
And broken because of once again, trauma, like events like uh being neglected, abused, verbally, yeah, uh physically abused, you know.
00:23:25.279 --> 00:23:27.759
And then also natural disasters.
00:23:28.000 --> 00:23:35.599
Maybe the house got burnt down, you know, or the tornado hit or flood, you know, came back.
00:23:35.680 --> 00:23:41.599
You know, people are devastated and they're broken in that, but children experience these things too.
00:23:42.079 --> 00:23:43.839
So we can't forget that.
00:23:44.079 --> 00:23:50.079
And those are the natural things that I was wanting us to bring out, you know, about being broken.
00:23:50.319 --> 00:23:53.039
Um, because God, He's there to fix the heart.
00:23:53.119 --> 00:24:11.119
Yeah, you know, when we're we're broken heart, and we'll get into the scriptures, but I want to say too, in the US, um 70% of adults uh have experienced some type of um traumatic uh event once or twice in their life.
00:24:11.680 --> 00:24:13.200
And we don't know how to let go.
00:24:13.359 --> 00:24:18.240
I think you mentioned about you know growing in it, you know, letting loose of things.
00:24:18.400 --> 00:24:21.759
And this is what we want to talk about today about brokenness.
00:24:22.000 --> 00:24:27.039
Brokenness is not uh permanent, no, it's not a permanent state.
00:24:27.440 --> 00:24:28.160
Thank you, Jesus.
00:24:28.400 --> 00:24:29.519
Thank you, Lord, thank you.
00:24:29.920 --> 00:24:33.359
He's here, he's here, he's here to help us.
00:24:33.599 --> 00:24:39.839
Um, I don't have my Bible, but in Psalms, this is how God He wants to fix us.
00:24:39.920 --> 00:24:43.680
In Psalms, it says, the Lord is close to the brokenhearted.
00:24:43.759 --> 00:24:52.240
Yes, and save those who are crushed in spirit, yes, or a contrite spirit, which is the same thing.
00:24:52.480 --> 00:24:54.640
So we're talking about two different things here again.
00:24:54.799 --> 00:25:03.200
We're talking about the natural part of the heart part, the natural part, the emotion of things that happen.
00:25:03.440 --> 00:25:07.920
Then we're also talking about the spirit when people can crush your spirit.
00:25:08.079 --> 00:25:16.319
Yes, they can, they can crush your, they can people say your dreams crush your dreams, but it's your spirit that people crush.
00:25:16.960 --> 00:25:22.640
You know, because they'll tell you you can't do that, or you, you know, you ain't worried of that or whatever.
00:25:22.720 --> 00:25:24.720
You know, you you your spirit is crushed.
00:25:24.799 --> 00:25:24.960
Yeah.
00:25:25.119 --> 00:25:29.519
Because you you going on like, you know, I'm confident I can do this, I can do that, you know, whatever.
00:25:29.680 --> 00:25:37.759
And then all of a sudden you get this, and then you let go of what you know within yourself that you're able to do.
00:25:38.240 --> 00:25:41.279
And so we carry that that brokenness, we carry it.
00:25:41.839 --> 00:25:55.039
You know, and uh and speaking on the theological or the spiritual part of it, it is necessary, it is necessary for transformation.
00:25:55.440 --> 00:25:57.440
Yes, it really is.
00:25:57.839 --> 00:26:01.519
I didn't even see it like that when June gave me the topic or whatever.
00:26:01.680 --> 00:26:12.799
I didn't see it like, you know, how you get transformed, you know, by it's and so that's why we have to study, we have to, you know, seek the Lord for, you know, revelation uh in the word.
00:26:13.119 --> 00:26:18.880
And so with that, um brokenness can lead us to surrendering to God.
00:26:19.599 --> 00:26:29.839
It strips away everything that you think you know and that you somebody hurt my feelings, and you know, they took me down that road and all that, it strips away all that.
00:26:30.240 --> 00:26:32.000
And it's basically pride.
00:26:32.720 --> 00:26:43.039
That's why we keep walking in that brokenness because we don't want people to be saying, like, oh, she she still crying, or she she ain't got no job yet.
00:26:43.200 --> 00:26:44.880
You you know what I'm saying?
00:26:45.039 --> 00:26:46.400
We have to be transparent.
00:26:46.720 --> 00:27:01.279
God knows what's in our heart, he just don't know our heart, he knows what's in there, yeah, and so we want to put on a facade of like everything is hunky-dory, yeah, but you've broken like a cracked egg.
00:27:01.759 --> 00:27:04.960
And and and God is me and my sister.
00:27:05.039 --> 00:27:06.319
I hope she's listening today.
00:27:06.559 --> 00:27:10.079
But years ago, about 20 something years ago, we were trying to sing this song.
00:27:10.240 --> 00:27:14.960
I forget who singing, but it says the potter wants to put you back together again.
00:27:15.440 --> 00:27:16.480
Oh, that's my song.
00:27:16.720 --> 00:27:18.720
I can't, I don't even know who's the artist.
00:27:18.960 --> 00:27:19.279
The pot.
00:27:20.000 --> 00:27:21.519
That's uh yeah, there you go.
00:27:21.680 --> 00:27:29.599
Yeah, because we are what broken and um that's uh Bashawn Mitchell and uh uh uh she got it.
00:27:29.839 --> 00:27:30.319
What's up?
00:27:31.039 --> 00:27:32.400
I don't know, I'm telling you.
00:27:32.640 --> 00:27:41.279
All I know is the old old I'm talking about that real old.
00:27:53.440 --> 00:27:56.000
Can I uh comment?
00:27:56.240 --> 00:27:57.519
Yeah, oh I'm sorry, yeah.
00:27:57.680 --> 00:27:58.000
Go ahead.
00:27:58.400 --> 00:28:00.240
I'm just trying to get into the spiritual.
00:28:00.720 --> 00:28:02.400
Oh no, yeah, yeah.
00:28:02.559 --> 00:28:04.799
Uh Keisha, good morning, Keisha.
00:28:06.079 --> 00:28:08.240
She said, good morning, everyone.
00:28:08.720 --> 00:28:09.920
Jokes on y'all.
00:28:10.079 --> 00:28:11.519
I wanted to cry today.
00:28:11.759 --> 00:28:12.160
Oh god.
00:28:13.839 --> 00:28:15.279
Crystal, uh Christmas.
00:28:18.640 --> 00:28:26.640
She said good morning, and uh Rich said, I mean, she said uh Keisha said, You're right, Rich.
00:28:26.960 --> 00:28:34.400
A lot, a lot of things buried in the subconscious, a lot of people don't know how to deal with it.
00:28:34.640 --> 00:28:38.640
I truly believe verbal abuse is the biggest issue of all.
00:28:38.880 --> 00:28:40.480
And Crystal says, Amen.
00:28:40.880 --> 00:28:43.759
I'm a true testament that it's not over.
00:28:44.799 --> 00:28:48.160
I said, I put I said over, but she said it's not.
00:28:48.319 --> 00:28:48.559
All right.
00:28:48.799 --> 00:28:50.079
Tremaine Hawkins, okay.
00:28:50.319 --> 00:28:51.359
Tremaine Hawkins, yeah.
00:28:51.519 --> 00:28:51.680
Thank you.
00:28:52.720 --> 00:28:54.000
Mike May, I knew she'd know.
00:28:54.240 --> 00:28:55.519
Crystal said, I miss y'all.
00:28:55.920 --> 00:28:56.400
We miss you.
00:28:56.640 --> 00:28:57.279
We miss you too.
00:28:57.599 --> 00:28:58.319
We miss you.
00:28:58.720 --> 00:29:02.160
Yeah, we wait for you to come back in the studio, girl.
00:29:02.559 --> 00:29:04.240
I'm trying to make light.
00:29:04.960 --> 00:29:10.079
Because yeah, y'all know we've been boo-hooing in there, but um go ahead, Pat.
00:29:11.119 --> 00:29:11.920
Thank you, ladies.
00:29:12.079 --> 00:29:12.880
Appreciate y'all.
00:29:12.960 --> 00:29:21.200
Yeah, but um brokenness it often bridges deep um personal uh hardship with spiritual reflection.
00:29:21.279 --> 00:29:29.920
I think one of y'all said, I'd be forgetting who said what, but y'all said something about reflection, uh reflecting on something or looking in the mirror or something like that.
00:29:30.559 --> 00:29:31.599
You said that, yeah.
00:29:31.759 --> 00:29:37.519
And so that's what it does, and it brings uh also uh physical healing to us.
00:29:38.160 --> 00:29:42.960
And so uh brokenness is not like I said, it's not a permanent thing.
00:29:43.680 --> 00:29:47.839
You know, your life is not in ruins because of what you've been through.
00:29:48.319 --> 00:29:49.359
I'm a living witness.
00:29:49.440 --> 00:29:52.559
I can sit here and tell you a whole bunch of stuff that I went through.
00:29:54.559 --> 00:29:54.880
Yes.
00:29:55.440 --> 00:30:01.039
Uh but I'm here today by the grace of God because I let go of the brokenness.
00:30:01.279 --> 00:30:05.759
I let go, I yield to God and say, hey, I can't I can't do this, I can't handle this.
00:30:06.480 --> 00:30:06.960
You know?
00:30:07.759 --> 00:30:12.720
And it I don't know, it probably was pride, but I couldn't recognize if it was.
00:30:13.200 --> 00:30:19.359
But I always had to be this strong person, you know, like, you know, because of the childhood trauma.
00:30:19.519 --> 00:30:22.400
I had to, you know, defend myself.
00:30:22.720 --> 00:30:27.279
And so it could have been a part of pride that I didn't let go a lot of stuff.
00:30:27.519 --> 00:30:30.160
But I thank God today that I'm free from that.
00:30:30.319 --> 00:30:34.720
I know I'm dealing with some more things, but that's not that old stuff though.
00:30:34.799 --> 00:30:37.839
We're talking about that old trauma stuff people still carrying on.
00:30:38.079 --> 00:30:39.920
You know, it's time, it's time out.
00:30:40.079 --> 00:30:42.880
I'm just, you know, I'm just being real, it's time out there.
00:30:43.119 --> 00:30:49.200
But it is a spiritual state of uh humility and total surrender to God once again.
00:30:50.160 --> 00:30:53.680
And um, I had uh listened to a couple of sermons.
00:30:53.839 --> 00:31:01.920
Um, I do my studies a little different, but uh this time I kind of listened to a couple of sermons on um brokenness.
00:31:02.480 --> 00:31:17.680
And uh each person um seemed like they ended up with the same thing uh or whatever, but me, I wanted to read Isaiah 50 57 and uh 15, and that's in the NIV.
00:31:17.839 --> 00:31:29.839
It says, For this is what the high and exalted one says, talking about God the Father, he who lives forever, whose name is holy.
00:31:30.160 --> 00:31:43.759
God says this, I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite or crushed once again and lowly in spirit.
00:31:44.319 --> 00:31:54.000
Know that God is there, he's there to revive us, our spirits, he's he's there to help us to be lifted back up, he's there to heal our hearts.
00:31:54.160 --> 00:31:57.359
And so that's why I say this is two parts to this to me.
00:31:58.160 --> 00:32:04.720
Don't ever forget the natural part because we're in the natural, we're gonna be in this flesh until Jesus take us home.
00:32:05.200 --> 00:32:09.519
But the spiritual part is what God is concerned about, you know.
00:32:09.680 --> 00:32:15.200
Um I'm sorry, Isaiah 57 and 15.
00:32:15.279 --> 00:32:17.200
And I read from the NIV.
00:32:18.720 --> 00:32:24.640
But God said, but also, so don't forget that part, everybody.
00:32:24.799 --> 00:32:28.240
Uh, and that's what I was kind of missing in the sermons.
00:32:28.400 --> 00:32:45.200
Um, I picked up a lot of things and stuff like that, but when this scripture hit my soul, I said, Lord, I believe I am on the right track with this, you know, because we do, we go through so many emotions in this world because we we're flesh.
00:32:45.680 --> 00:32:48.480
But God wants that spirit man to be strong.
00:32:48.720 --> 00:32:52.559
He wants to revive that, that spirit that's been broken in us.
00:32:52.799 --> 00:32:58.480
You know, just like when the people said, uh told me that I wasn't saved because I had on pants.
00:32:58.880 --> 00:33:00.640
That broke my spirit.
00:33:00.960 --> 00:33:03.680
I had to question my own salvation.
00:33:04.000 --> 00:33:07.839
And I said, wait a minute, I'm not saved because you know what I mean.
00:33:08.079 --> 00:33:09.599
And my spirit is broken now.
00:33:09.759 --> 00:33:11.200
I'm broken in spirit.
00:33:11.759 --> 00:33:13.039
Why would they say that?
00:33:13.359 --> 00:33:20.319
You know, when I opened my mouth, like the Bible said, I confess with my mouth, I believed in my heart that God raised these from the dead.
00:33:20.480 --> 00:33:22.720
And the Bible said I'll be I should be saved.
00:33:22.880 --> 00:33:24.640
So I don't understand.
00:33:24.880 --> 00:33:26.240
You know, I was crushed.
00:33:26.480 --> 00:33:28.480
So I stayed away for a long time.
00:33:29.119 --> 00:33:32.000
I really did, because I thought, you know, I wasn't saved.
00:33:32.559 --> 00:33:34.000
Because I was gonna wear my pants.
00:33:34.559 --> 00:33:35.039
Go ahead.
00:33:35.680 --> 00:33:39.680
Um just to give another perspective.
00:33:39.839 --> 00:33:43.519
I know you said that you didn't re you didn't know if that was pride.
00:33:43.839 --> 00:33:52.079
Sometimes people, I can vouch for myself, some people keep all of that stuff, I call it spiritual squat tissue.
00:33:52.319 --> 00:34:01.599
Keep all that stuff inside, the brokenness, the resentment, because all that comes together, they keep it inside because they don't want to deal with it.
00:34:02.000 --> 00:34:08.639
But eventually it'll come out if you pray and ask God to help you get through it.
00:34:08.800 --> 00:34:11.519
Just like my God, son, he just had a breakthrough.
00:34:11.679 --> 00:34:12.559
Thank you, Jesus.
00:34:13.599 --> 00:34:16.880
Unknowingly, that that was still in you.
00:34:17.119 --> 00:34:27.199
But praise God, with you admitting it, confessing it, that goes to show that God is answering prayer, whether you know it or not.
00:34:28.000 --> 00:34:30.159
Because he left you let that out.
00:34:30.320 --> 00:34:42.079
You was holding that in unknowingly, and that's what my prayer is for people that are dealing with brokenness, unnecessary brokenness.
00:34:42.320 --> 00:34:47.679
Because sometimes you sometimes you ain't gotta be, excuse me, you ain't gotta be broken.
00:34:48.000 --> 00:34:50.400
You just be an extra.
00:34:50.639 --> 00:35:08.079
But for the those that have gone through uh the hurt, excuse me, and the pains that life gives you, pray and ask God to reveal it to you and to want, and if you reveal it's revealed, ask God to help you deal with it.
00:35:08.320 --> 00:35:18.239
If not, talk, call the somebody that's godly, that loves you, and you can talk to them about it, you know, knowing that they ain't gonna share it with nobody else.
00:35:18.800 --> 00:35:19.199
That's right.
00:35:19.360 --> 00:35:25.360
That's the key because a lot of us uh are dealing with hidden issues.
00:35:25.679 --> 00:35:36.719
They're not willing to let it come out because of the it's gonna hurt too bad, because there are some hurts that God has revealed to me in the last month.
00:35:36.880 --> 00:35:41.840
I'm like, God, that's why Pat is doing brokenness.
00:35:42.000 --> 00:35:43.280
You see what I'm saying?
00:35:43.679 --> 00:35:52.480
Because we, as we grow in Christ, we have to empty all that stuff out so we can be, that's how we become new creatures.
00:35:52.639 --> 00:35:52.960
That's right.
00:35:53.119 --> 00:35:57.920
You can't be new with old stuff bottled in you, is what I'm getting at.
00:35:58.159 --> 00:35:58.719
You just came.
00:35:58.880 --> 00:35:59.440
And amen.
00:36:00.960 --> 00:36:01.760
Yes, sir.
00:36:02.400 --> 00:36:10.000
You don't realize how deep that was, because the same thing that my brother said, when I studied this, that perspective never came up.
00:36:10.079 --> 00:36:11.760
That's how you know the Holy Spirit is perfect.
00:36:12.480 --> 00:36:14.000
And today happened that it did.
00:36:14.400 --> 00:36:20.320
The one thing that you said that is very important, that I realize brokenness does start when you are young.
00:36:20.559 --> 00:36:21.360
And you know why?
00:36:21.599 --> 00:36:26.239
Because you don't have the knowledge, the wisdom of the things to come later.
00:36:26.880 --> 00:36:35.360
And that's what creates our testimony and and give us the opportunity to witness through the different things that we've been through in life.
00:36:35.599 --> 00:36:44.960
But I didn't never think of that perspective of how starting like from a child, the different things you're gonna face, because God already predestined our life, right?
00:36:45.039 --> 00:36:50.400
Yes, and through that is when those different times and trials come in.
00:36:50.639 --> 00:36:54.480
Because again, I never thought we'd be going back to then.
00:36:55.039 --> 00:36:59.039
But when you did it, it gave me a whole different view on broken, right?
00:36:59.280 --> 00:36:59.440
Right.
00:36:59.840 --> 00:37:07.199
Because the key part of this is which I know we're gonna get to it, brokenness is always around some type of trauma.
00:37:07.440 --> 00:37:08.079
Yes, somewhere.
00:37:08.400 --> 00:37:10.000
In some which way, form, or fashion.
00:37:10.079 --> 00:37:17.599
Like even what Keisha said, it could be verbal, it can be uh mental, physical, abusive, and things like that.
00:37:17.679 --> 00:37:23.280
It's a very broad trauma, it's a very broad thing, and everybody handles it in different ways.
00:37:23.440 --> 00:37:31.760
Yeah I never would have thought that I had anger issues that long, stemming from when I was nine to eleven years old.
00:37:32.159 --> 00:37:33.519
Who would think like that?
00:37:33.760 --> 00:37:38.639
But that's the beginning, the foundation of where a lot of the different brokenness starters when we're a child.
00:37:38.719 --> 00:37:40.320
Because again, we don't know no better.
00:37:40.480 --> 00:37:45.280
Growing up being tall and bigger than everybody like, dang, you big, you got bubbl the chili face.
00:37:45.599 --> 00:37:47.599
And all these different things I had acne.
00:37:48.000 --> 00:37:49.440
Well, somebody said when we were kidding.
00:37:49.679 --> 00:37:50.719
That's how I got tough skin like that.
00:37:50.800 --> 00:37:51.599
Yeah, we should don't like.
00:37:51.840 --> 00:37:59.599
But anyway, but growing up, going through them, going through those times, it I honestly, and I can only I know I speak for myself.
00:37:59.840 --> 00:38:13.039
For one, it gave me tougher skin and uh a stronger faith in God to know that no matter what people's opinions are, how they feel about you, the experience you went through was made for you and for that purpose only.
00:38:13.360 --> 00:38:16.079
Because the whole purpose is to save souls.
00:38:16.239 --> 00:38:27.360
And the one thing that I, when we did that test at uh Precious World Long talking about our strengths and whatever, like that, the get the pretty much the strengths that we have within us that can help bring souls to Christ.
00:38:27.679 --> 00:38:28.880
Mine was witnessing.
00:38:29.440 --> 00:38:37.840
And after that, story after story from different people, younger people, when I was young and not thinking nothing like this, was coming like, man, you don't know.
00:38:38.000 --> 00:38:40.639
Seeing you do that, or you telling me that, help me.
00:38:40.719 --> 00:38:41.039
Yeah.
00:38:41.360 --> 00:38:42.639
Never would have thought that.
00:38:43.119 --> 00:38:45.360
But I'm let me sorry, I went too far.
00:38:45.440 --> 00:38:52.239
But the main thing with me was that not realizing that the brokenness starts from when we're young.
00:38:52.400 --> 00:38:53.119
Yeah, that's good.
00:38:53.599 --> 00:38:55.360
That's the that's that hit way different.
00:38:55.599 --> 00:38:56.639
Cause I never thought it was like that.
00:38:58.960 --> 00:39:22.880
Something uh uh I feel the need to uh pray for those people who've been through like uh sexual abuse because uh it's easier to get over uh things being said about you than it is to get over things being done to you.
00:39:23.119 --> 00:39:33.519
So uh I take a few seconds to just I just want to uh pray for those people who dealt with uh sexual abuse.
00:39:33.840 --> 00:39:47.360
Uh Lord, we come to you, just ask you to reach in those homes and reach down and pull it out by the root for those things that they're willing to talk about and the ones who are not willing to talk about it, Lord.
00:39:47.440 --> 00:39:47.840
Yes, Lord.
00:39:48.159 --> 00:39:50.639
We pray for them right now, we pray for those families.
00:39:50.719 --> 00:39:51.199
Yes, Lord.
00:39:51.360 --> 00:39:52.880
We pray for those victims, Father.
00:39:53.039 --> 00:39:53.519
Yes, Lord.
00:39:53.920 --> 00:40:01.599
And we pray that you visit them right now and make them a supernatural intercession prayer for them, Father.
00:40:01.920 --> 00:40:12.079
We just fill in the gap for them right now, Father, and we send this prayer out over the airways for anyone who's dealing with that type of trauma, Father, of the sexual abuse, Father.
00:40:12.320 --> 00:40:12.960
Yes, Lord.
00:40:13.119 --> 00:40:17.280
We we we love them, Father, and we want them to know that you love them, Father.
00:40:18.000 --> 00:40:19.599
They can't do nothing wrong, Father.
00:40:19.679 --> 00:40:20.880
It wasn't their fault, Father.
00:40:20.960 --> 00:40:21.360
Yes, father.
00:40:21.599 --> 00:40:31.920
All of the ones who need to forgive themselves, Father, give them the strength, give them the courage, give them the wisdom to forgive themselves and walking upright in front of you, Father.
00:40:32.079 --> 00:40:35.440
Yes, all these things we ask in your son, Jesus' name.
00:40:35.599 --> 00:40:35.920
Amen.
00:40:37.599 --> 00:40:38.400
So it is.
00:40:40.000 --> 00:40:42.960
Um, sometimes people like, this is good.
00:40:43.199 --> 00:40:53.679
Sometimes people like staying in their brokenness because it's their comfort zone and they don't know how to get know how to get out to.
00:40:54.320 --> 00:40:55.920
They don't know how to get out.
00:40:56.159 --> 00:40:56.719
That's true.
00:40:57.119 --> 00:41:01.119
But that at that point it becomes a stronghold in your life.
00:41:01.199 --> 00:41:02.880
So that's why it's hard.
00:41:03.199 --> 00:41:10.480
You know, it's just like a flag getting stuck in a spider's nest or something, you know, it's just hard to get out.
00:41:10.639 --> 00:41:15.360
But I want to go refer back to uh Isaiah 47 and 15.
00:41:15.679 --> 00:41:35.599
Um it it reveals that um even though a person uh even though uh a person is experiencing um brokenness, once again, uh it shows that it's not a permanent ruin, but a uh birthplace for divine transformation.
00:41:36.159 --> 00:41:39.519
Once again, by surrendering to the Heavenly Father.
00:41:40.320 --> 00:41:45.039
And we have to know that God is attentive to our soft heart when we give up.
00:41:45.119 --> 00:41:50.639
And a lot of times we we we feel this follow ground within our hearts, you know.
00:41:50.800 --> 00:41:57.119
Like I was talking about myself, you know, trying to be tough and you know, all this stuff, and I'm toe up inside or what have you.
00:41:57.360 --> 00:42:01.440
But God knows how to come in and break that stuff up, but we have to yield to him.
00:42:02.159 --> 00:42:08.559
And uh going back to that pride thing, June, uh, when I was coming up and I had that stuff in me, that's what I was saying.
00:42:08.639 --> 00:42:09.599
I didn't have Christ.
00:42:10.000 --> 00:42:26.400
I didn't realize that back then it was pride until I got talking with the Lord to life, and God was showing me that that that was pride because I should have reached out to somebody, but it took me to other places, like suicide and stuff, you know, and all that crazy stuff.
00:42:26.559 --> 00:42:34.800
So yeah, and a lot of times we do, we guess our own self-try.
00:42:36.159 --> 00:42:42.559
But uh once we surrender to God, He's there, but you know, brokenness is sometimes viewed as a weakness too.
00:42:43.280 --> 00:42:58.800
Because people, you know, you know, they'll say some type of prestige or something, you know.
00:42:59.280 --> 00:43:02.800
But uh yeah, and people say that that is weakness.
00:43:03.199 --> 00:43:03.599
Why?
00:43:03.840 --> 00:43:09.360
Because uh it pushes your pride, you know what I'm saying, out of the way.
00:43:09.679 --> 00:43:16.639
And your self-reliance instead of trusting and putting all your trust in God, you know, that's what it does.
00:43:16.960 --> 00:43:22.239
And uh and some people say that it prolongs the hurt or the pain.
00:43:26.320 --> 00:43:26.960
Sorry guys.
00:43:33.280 --> 00:43:33.840
Thank you.
00:43:34.239 --> 00:43:38.480
But yeah, but that's um I want to talk about the brokenness that David.
00:43:38.960 --> 00:43:46.880
This is a prime example of David in the book of Psalms, um division uh 51 is the whole thing.
00:43:47.119 --> 00:43:47.920
You wanna share it?
00:43:48.159 --> 00:43:49.840
No, I'm gonna say you all the Bible.
00:43:50.320 --> 00:43:59.519
Yeah, but it shows the deep brokenness and humbleness of repentance uh through the King David uh after he after his sins.
00:44:00.239 --> 00:44:10.639
Uh involving by Sheba and Uriah, but most of all, his deep conviction by displeasing God.
00:44:11.360 --> 00:44:16.800
And see, this is the spiritual side of what I was talking about, about your spirit being broken.
00:44:17.119 --> 00:44:20.000
David didn't, David, he knew what he was doing.
00:44:20.159 --> 00:44:21.440
He knew what he did.
00:44:21.840 --> 00:44:23.039
And he was dealing with that.
00:44:23.199 --> 00:44:27.119
I believe it was just tearing him up inside, you know, that brokenness that was there.
00:44:27.360 --> 00:44:30.239
Because, you know, he displeased God most of all.
00:44:31.039 --> 00:44:35.840
And uh, you know, he committed murder of well, first of all, adultery and then murder.
00:44:36.159 --> 00:44:41.920
He walked around for a minute until God said, Nathan, go and tell David about himself.
00:44:42.079 --> 00:44:42.559
Right.
00:44:42.800 --> 00:44:49.199
You know, and and and then I love about David because the Bible says that he always repents quickly.
00:44:49.519 --> 00:44:56.000
So a lot of times, uh when your life is shown that way, you know, uh God sends somebody around.
00:44:56.639 --> 00:45:01.199
Say, look here, Pat, you act a little strange and you know, this and that and other.
00:45:01.679 --> 00:45:06.960
So it's up to that person to obey what God has placed before them.
00:45:07.119 --> 00:45:14.960
So soon after that uh Nathan uh confronts David, he owns up to his actions by calling them by name.
00:45:16.079 --> 00:45:20.159
Transgression, iniquity, and sin.
00:45:22.000 --> 00:45:23.920
Then he pleased for forgiveness.
00:45:25.599 --> 00:45:28.000
See, and that's uh your opening right there.
00:45:28.320 --> 00:45:30.800
That's your opening to get rid of the brokenness.
00:45:30.960 --> 00:45:39.679
And David, David knew, David knew that I'm broke, I'm tore up, like they say, from the floor, and I need you, Lord.
00:45:40.079 --> 00:45:50.800
And that's when God does the work, he started doing the work, and the outcome was that he drew closer to God instead of pushing away, pushing away from the Father.
00:45:51.039 --> 00:45:53.039
He knew where his help would come from.
00:45:53.360 --> 00:45:57.199
And so this is why I'm saying, you know, uh, it's okay.
00:45:57.280 --> 00:46:01.039
And and June, I like how she said it, uh, confide in somebody, you know.
00:46:01.599 --> 00:46:10.719
You know you're going through this, you know it's keeping you back, it's keeping you from blessings, it's keeping you uh for being a really a true light, you know, for God.
00:46:10.800 --> 00:46:14.000
And I'm talking about people are believers of Christ right now.
00:46:14.400 --> 00:46:16.639
You know, it's keeping your your light is dim.
00:46:17.360 --> 00:46:18.800
You know, you're not drawing.
00:46:19.440 --> 00:46:20.480
It's time to give it up.
00:46:22.000 --> 00:46:22.800
It's time to get it up.
00:46:23.119 --> 00:46:24.960
Anybody else got anything else on that?
00:46:25.920 --> 00:46:34.079
Um on the bright side, uh brokenness is not a curse for believers.
00:46:34.320 --> 00:46:40.480
It's not, it's an invitation for you to ask God to help whatever you're broken with.
00:46:40.639 --> 00:46:41.360
Yes, right.
00:46:41.679 --> 00:46:53.760
It's one of the first places God begins his deepest work, and most new believers don't realize how holy and purposeful uh brokenness can be.
00:46:55.039 --> 00:47:07.840
Most believers think brokenness is something to get away from, but spiritually, brokenness is something to embrace because God does his best work in when we surrender.
00:47:07.920 --> 00:47:08.639
You said that.
00:47:09.760 --> 00:47:11.920
Yeah, and it's a doorway.
00:47:12.079 --> 00:47:16.000
I with my research, I found that brokenness is a doorway.
00:47:16.239 --> 00:47:21.119
God often begins transformation at the exact place where we feel weak.
00:47:21.199 --> 00:47:22.079
Thank you, Jesus.
00:47:22.559 --> 00:47:22.960
That's right.
00:47:23.199 --> 00:47:24.960
Ashamed or overwhelmed.
00:47:25.760 --> 00:47:31.599
Uh brokenness opens your heart to his healing, yeah.
00:47:32.480 --> 00:47:38.159
It reveals the truth, it exposes lies we believed about ourselves.
00:47:38.320 --> 00:47:39.119
That's right.
00:47:39.920 --> 00:47:47.360
I knew that I it took for me to be grown and lose weight to know I could get me a fine man.
00:47:47.440 --> 00:47:48.559
I'm not trying to not.
00:47:54.239 --> 00:47:55.039
Sorry.
00:47:55.599 --> 00:48:04.239
But I didn't, I'm saying that in a positive note, even though it sounds negative, because I didn't think I was pretty because of my skin.
00:48:04.400 --> 00:48:06.000
That's what I'm getting at.
00:48:07.119 --> 00:48:12.559
It reveals the truth, it exposes lies that what you believe about yourself.
00:48:12.800 --> 00:48:15.119
I'm making light of it because it's so heavy.
00:48:15.199 --> 00:48:21.360
I'm trying, I would, I want us to make it light so you people would know if we can.
00:48:21.760 --> 00:48:32.320
Because this is a heavy topic, but we have to shed light on it because God is the answer to the end all, be all, to your brokenness, right?
00:48:32.960 --> 00:48:35.519
And you can be cured and healed from it.
00:48:35.599 --> 00:48:35.920
That's right.
00:48:36.159 --> 00:48:36.719
Yes, you can.
00:48:36.880 --> 00:48:37.440
Yes, right.
00:48:37.599 --> 00:48:40.880
And there is purpose, like you were saying that.
00:48:41.039 --> 00:48:52.079
Yeah, there is purpose in our brokenness, and uh one of them is that uh we could possibly bring somebody to Christ through our testimony, like you testified on.
00:48:52.320 --> 00:48:53.119
You know what I'm saying?
00:48:53.360 --> 00:49:01.199
God uses events, even painful ones, uh, to shape us too, you know, believers.
00:49:01.679 --> 00:49:06.000
And then also it is used to bring glory to his name.
00:49:06.079 --> 00:49:16.000
And I should have put that number one, and that's what is that is what it's for because he we realize at that point of brokenness we can't fix it, we can't do it ourselves.
00:49:16.159 --> 00:49:24.639
Yeah, it takes a mighty God, a all-loving, sovereign God to come in and rebuild and do, you know.
00:49:25.119 --> 00:49:30.639
Uh, and it also uh it has benefits if we don't hide it.
00:49:32.159 --> 00:49:32.480
It does.
00:49:32.800 --> 00:49:41.760
Yeah, if we don't hide it, God come in and reshape us, and then uh we live a little bit, a little bit, I'm just saying, quote unquote, a little bit better for him.
00:49:42.639 --> 00:49:45.280
Because we we're we're free from stuff now, you know.
00:49:46.320 --> 00:49:52.800
So it's just this brokenness is just it's broad, it goes a long way, it's so much in it.
00:49:54.079 --> 00:49:56.880
Oh boy, I have a question for Akeisha.
00:49:57.119 --> 00:49:58.559
Okay, this is a really good question.
00:49:58.639 --> 00:49:59.920
I'm glad you asked.
00:50:00.079 --> 00:50:13.280
Uh, based off of a conversation you're having with someone, what would you say to someone who doesn't know they're broken or has put certain trauma in their subconscious?
00:50:13.599 --> 00:50:20.159
What would we say to somebody that is that doesn't know they're broken, but you can see it.
00:50:20.239 --> 00:50:23.119
Your discernment is showing they're broken.
00:50:23.440 --> 00:50:25.679
I'm adding to her question.
00:50:26.480 --> 00:50:28.480
You adding to the discernment part?
00:50:28.719 --> 00:50:31.119
Yeah, I she didn't say discernment, but no, I'm you can't.
00:50:31.679 --> 00:50:39.760
Yeah, yes, okay, that's because if if you know that somebody is suffering, that this has to be uh discernment that you're feeling.
00:50:40.239 --> 00:50:41.599
Yeah, you see what I'm saying?
00:50:41.679 --> 00:50:42.719
But I'm gonna ask it again.
00:50:42.880 --> 00:50:57.760
Based off of a conversation you're having with someone, what would you say uh to someone who doesn't know they're broken or or doesn't realize they're broken or has put certain trauma in their subconscious?
00:50:58.559 --> 00:50:59.679
That's kind of complex.
00:51:00.079 --> 00:51:07.280
Yeah, when it comes to discernment, you gotta know that's the spirit of the Lord talking because we don't want to be in a judgmental place.
00:51:07.840 --> 00:51:14.079
We don't want to assume anything, but we want to be right because we can break that person even more.
00:51:14.159 --> 00:51:16.559
Yeah, if we open our mouth uh too soon.
00:51:16.639 --> 00:51:21.199
So that is kind of it's kind of uh tedious.
00:51:21.280 --> 00:51:30.719
So I I would think just like we started this podcast, you shared your testimony and it went bam, bam, bam.
00:51:30.800 --> 00:51:34.880
It allow us to feel comfortable in a space to share ours.
00:51:35.039 --> 00:51:50.400
That's good, and it it brought that back because as me and Twan were saying, we had the topic brokenness, but until you started that way, we didn't even look at that certain side of where we were broken.
00:51:50.559 --> 00:52:05.760
Yes, so because of the relationship you have and with the that you and the bond you have with the person you're talking to, if you start with your testimony about broken and what God has done, it makes them, it puts them in a comfortable state to share theirs.
00:52:06.000 --> 00:52:07.679
And I think that's a good place to start.
00:52:07.920 --> 00:52:08.559
That's good.
00:52:09.119 --> 00:52:25.280
And me personally, I would say, especially if you know this person, the first thing I would do is pray and ask God to unguide my tongue and give me the wisdom, the um, possibly the um maybe the biblical structure to give them to help them with that too.
00:52:25.440 --> 00:52:30.079
To make sure that you're when you do come to them, you come in in the Christ-like matter of nature.
00:52:30.320 --> 00:52:36.880
So it doesn't come across like you're judging or like it doesn't come across like like you're trying to tell them something.
00:52:36.960 --> 00:52:39.519
Because you know, people be so offensive these days.
00:52:39.840 --> 00:52:44.400
So it's like if if you know this person, you know kind of the best way to go about it.
00:52:44.480 --> 00:52:46.320
But the first thing I would do is pray.
00:52:46.639 --> 00:52:53.039
Pray for that person first, then pray on how you should come to them because everybody is kind of different when it comes to that.
00:52:53.599 --> 00:52:57.039
So if you do know them, the main thing is come to them in a Christ-like nature.
00:52:57.119 --> 00:52:59.840
That's the best thing I can say from our that I would do.
00:53:06.559 --> 00:53:08.559
Uh open conversation.
00:53:08.719 --> 00:53:15.840
Uh I can say I'll use the women's conference as an example.
00:53:16.400 --> 00:53:22.000
Uh I always, we always, or Crystal, you can attest to this too.
00:53:22.159 --> 00:53:24.159
We are very transparent.
00:53:24.559 --> 00:53:35.840
And along with transparency brings, especially when that person knows that you're coming from a good place, uh, somebody, I don't care if they saved or not, they can tell if you being judgy.
00:53:37.280 --> 00:53:38.639
You know, they can tell.
00:53:38.800 --> 00:53:49.119
But if you or or like Antoine and Rich said, if you pray, open up the dialect and then pray first, pray first, then open up the dialect.
00:53:49.199 --> 00:53:55.280
And some most of the time, they can say, they might even say, I know what you're talking about.
00:53:55.440 --> 00:54:03.679
I know I I heard that, that I heard that can soften them enough to even pray.
00:54:03.840 --> 00:54:08.400
You might not know that you cracked that brokenness.
00:54:08.559 --> 00:54:14.000
You you open that door for them to actually go to God and ask to heal.
00:54:14.079 --> 00:54:16.639
Because you ain't gotta see, you know, you know what I mean?
00:54:16.719 --> 00:54:28.960
You ain't gotta see that you helped somebody, you know, and but that's what I would do because I've been uh in at put in places at church.
00:54:29.519 --> 00:54:32.480
I it was so heavy it hit me.
00:54:32.719 --> 00:54:35.519
I knew that this young lady was hurting.
00:54:36.320 --> 00:54:40.719
And I told her, just give it to God, and she just boom.
00:54:41.679 --> 00:54:45.519
I told her, I don't have to know what you are going through.
00:54:45.679 --> 00:54:47.519
Yeah, you don't that's the key.
00:54:47.599 --> 00:54:50.320
You don't have to, it ain't your business what they're going through.
00:54:50.480 --> 00:54:50.800
That's right.
00:54:51.119 --> 00:54:54.639
But you don't have to to know what somebody is going through.
00:54:54.719 --> 00:55:02.800
But if that discernment is really heavy on you, tell them, you know, I don't know what it is, but I'm praying for you.
00:55:02.960 --> 00:55:05.599
And don't be ashamed to pray with nobody.
00:55:06.320 --> 00:55:09.280
That's one problem that a lot of believers have.
00:55:09.440 --> 00:55:12.400
I'm not gonna say uh seasoned or new.
00:55:12.639 --> 00:55:22.559
A lot of believers are too scared to come out of that comfort zone, like Crystal said, coming out of that comfort zone and praying with people.
00:55:23.119 --> 00:55:26.239
You don't know it could make a world of difference.
00:55:26.639 --> 00:55:29.280
And they'll come back and say thank you.
00:55:29.920 --> 00:55:30.239
Amen.
00:55:34.159 --> 00:55:34.480
Thank you.
00:55:34.639 --> 00:55:35.519
Um, who was that?
00:55:35.599 --> 00:55:37.039
Um that was Keith.
00:55:38.000 --> 00:55:38.159
Thank you.
00:55:39.760 --> 00:55:43.679
Crystal said, yes, being transparent is very good to help others.
00:55:43.840 --> 00:55:49.199
You can also start by asking questions to get them to think about things as well.
00:55:49.360 --> 00:55:49.920
That's good.
00:55:50.480 --> 00:55:54.559
Yeah, as around it instead of directly what it may be that you may see.
00:55:57.039 --> 00:55:58.400
Yeah, yeah, amen.
00:55:58.800 --> 00:55:59.360
Amen.
00:55:59.599 --> 00:56:11.679
And I think the best way to uh for for us believers is to ask God to search our hearts and he'll show you if you're uh walking in a brokenness stage or not.
00:56:11.840 --> 00:56:12.639
You know what I'm saying?
00:56:12.719 --> 00:56:18.000
He he will show you that, and so you'll know what to pray for for yourself, even so.
00:56:18.559 --> 00:56:28.719
And so I want to ask the question how does brokenness affect people that you love or or care for?
00:56:30.239 --> 00:56:31.599
How would how do you think?
00:56:31.760 --> 00:56:53.760
You know, it this is not like you can answer the question if y'all want to, but it's not how but I just you know, because I thought about it myself, how how did it affect people that I love that was around me when I was going through that, you know, not letting go, you know, and I knew it affect affect them in a in a negative way.
00:56:54.320 --> 00:56:55.199
You know, that's true.
00:56:56.480 --> 00:56:57.599
What's the question again?
00:56:58.000 --> 00:57:05.519
I said, how does brokenness affect people that you love or even that you know you're close to or care for?
00:57:06.000 --> 00:57:08.079
The brokenness you can carry on.
00:57:08.239 --> 00:57:08.639
Your brokenness.
00:57:10.320 --> 00:57:13.199
How does your brokenness impact the ones your loved ones and ones that are?
00:57:14.320 --> 00:57:17.440
Shoot, it can make them leave you alone, first of all.
00:57:17.599 --> 00:57:25.679
See, because if you are dealing with brokenness uh to the 10th power, you don't want to be bothered with yourself half the time.
00:57:25.840 --> 00:57:26.159
Yeah.
00:57:26.320 --> 00:57:30.000
But uh you and ooh, yeah.
00:57:30.559 --> 00:57:42.079
I when I was during the time that my mother that I was going through that transition 14 years of losing my mother, I was so broken.
00:57:42.239 --> 00:57:44.960
That's why I didn't bring up mama because I talk about her all the time.
00:57:45.199 --> 00:57:50.480
But during that time, uh I'd that's another testimony.
00:57:50.559 --> 00:57:56.960
I was out there, and I had somebody, a guy came to me, and he really truly liked me.
00:57:57.199 --> 00:58:00.480
Uh, but he told me my heart pumped ice water.
00:58:02.480 --> 00:58:08.079
And I'm like, dang, I didn't realize that I was but I was broken.
00:58:08.239 --> 00:58:08.559
Yeah.
00:58:09.280 --> 00:58:16.239
So to answer your question, it makes you mean, it makes you angry.
00:58:16.400 --> 00:58:25.440
Yeah, I was angry, it makes you want to hurt people, hurt people emotionally or physically.
00:58:25.840 --> 00:58:27.119
Yep, I was just thinking that too.
00:58:27.440 --> 00:58:35.280
You know, and it's it's really dangerous for those of us who are walking in Christ because it ruins our testimony.
00:58:35.440 --> 00:58:36.159
It really does.
00:58:36.719 --> 00:58:37.440
That's my guess.
00:58:40.000 --> 00:58:40.480
That's too good.
00:58:40.880 --> 00:58:44.480
Piggyback uh off what Godmom was saying.
00:58:44.719 --> 00:58:51.280
Oh, the other side of that is your loved ones love on you harder.
00:58:51.440 --> 00:58:51.760
Yes.
00:58:52.000 --> 00:58:56.320
Because when I was going through that, I could tell my godmother was really loving on me.
00:58:56.400 --> 00:58:56.719
Oh, yeah.
00:58:57.039 --> 00:59:06.480
Never asked me about it, you know, but but just kept pouring love uh and and having the rule you gotta go to church.
00:59:07.039 --> 00:59:12.880
You know, having uh the daily bread in the kitchen.
00:59:13.360 --> 00:59:21.440
You know, just just just just a lot of certain things that I know was passed down from her mom, you know, that I got the benefit from.
00:59:21.599 --> 00:59:22.079
Yes, amen.
00:59:22.400 --> 00:59:34.559
You know, so uh how you remember and many you say the impact of it was so significant.
00:59:34.800 --> 00:59:35.039
Amen.
00:59:35.519 --> 00:59:37.039
That is it's burned in.
00:59:37.199 --> 00:59:37.760
Thank you, James.
00:59:38.000 --> 00:59:45.280
You know, and I could tell it was passed down from her mom to her, from her to you, yeah.
00:59:45.679 --> 00:59:47.920
Because y'all deal with me the same, man.
00:59:48.159 --> 00:59:57.039
But it the the flip side of it, uh your brokenness don't always have to peek out the wrong way.
00:59:57.519 --> 01:00:06.159
Uh especially like what I'm mentioning of those people who really genuinely care about you, loving on you, yes, through it, you know.
01:00:06.320 --> 01:00:09.599
Uh it it it's hope there.
01:00:10.480 --> 01:00:17.679
Yes, you know, uh and where there's hope, you know, there's there's true relationships with Christ himself.
01:00:18.559 --> 01:00:32.639
You know, um, and and and for me and going through my brokenness, it allowed me to have something to cling on to that uh the whole world wasn't against me.
01:00:32.960 --> 01:00:36.159
You know, like a lot of people say, me against the world, you know.
01:00:36.239 --> 01:00:52.239
Well, in my brokenness, I didn't take that edge, you know, because it could have pushed me like for real in them streets, uh, and to be second generation things going on, if you know what I'm saying.
01:00:53.199 --> 01:01:00.559
Um but yeah, you know, I I watched my loved ones love on me, yeah, you know, through the brokenness.
01:01:00.719 --> 01:01:04.000
So man, it it pretty much saved my life.
01:01:04.159 --> 01:01:04.559
Yeah.
01:01:04.800 --> 01:01:12.239
You know, to to be truthful and transparent, you know, I don't want to get all tearied up again or get y'all tearied up again.
01:01:13.760 --> 01:01:16.960
Y'all, y'all might have y'all might have saved my life, you know.
01:01:17.039 --> 01:01:19.119
Um thank you, Jesus.
01:01:19.840 --> 01:01:21.840
That's why I say mom broken.
01:01:22.239 --> 01:01:23.760
That ain't enough flowers.
01:01:24.000 --> 01:01:28.880
Yeah, if I could pull a truck up here with flowers in it, it wouldn't be enough.
01:01:29.280 --> 01:01:34.480
Uh yeah, but y'all love me through it, man.
01:01:34.639 --> 01:01:35.199
That's all right.
01:01:37.440 --> 01:01:39.119
It was weak of you.
01:01:39.360 --> 01:01:40.320
That's the key.
01:01:40.719 --> 01:01:42.639
It wasn't like it was forced.
01:01:42.880 --> 01:01:44.960
You were such a good baby.
01:01:45.119 --> 01:01:47.039
I'm telling you, he was so good.
01:01:47.519 --> 01:01:51.119
I wish I could trade Rich in for Antoine a lot.
01:01:59.599 --> 01:02:02.960
Antoine was, but Rich was my baby.
01:02:03.039 --> 01:02:04.960
He still had grown as a kid.
01:02:05.199 --> 01:02:07.119
He had a mentality of 72 and he was.
01:02:07.519 --> 01:02:16.480
You would rather hang out with mom than he was a senior, he was grown as a kid grown as a kid.
01:02:22.079 --> 01:02:22.400
Wow.
01:02:22.960 --> 01:02:28.800
Crystal said you take out your hurt on them and make it hard to have a relationship with them.
01:02:29.039 --> 01:02:36.000
Uh, that's what I and I told her that's what I was trying to say, you know, because you make it hard for people to what?
01:02:36.719 --> 01:02:38.480
You make it hard for people to love you.
01:02:38.800 --> 01:02:39.679
Push them away.
01:02:39.840 --> 01:02:40.480
Push them away.
01:02:40.639 --> 01:02:41.360
That's so good.
01:02:41.599 --> 01:02:42.400
Thank you, Jesus.
01:02:43.599 --> 01:02:55.840
I'm gonna add a different definition of the brokenness because like the perspective we gave was from that one, but my definition that I saw was a path to spiritual humility, a deep healing, and closeness to God.
01:02:56.639 --> 01:02:58.079
So that's to encourage you all.
01:02:58.239 --> 01:03:06.159
I know we've we've mentioned a lot of our testimonies and witnessed things to you all, but understand that God is the ultimate healer.
01:03:06.239 --> 01:03:06.559
Yes, he is.
01:03:07.039 --> 01:03:08.480
He's the ultimate comforter.
01:03:08.960 --> 01:03:16.480
Let's know and understand that through all these times, maybe you may be still broken today, but know that God got your back and he's there for you.
01:03:16.880 --> 01:03:21.840
And those different things that you may be going through right now, trust me, it's it's temporary.
01:03:22.079 --> 01:03:26.239
God said it'll never leave us nor forsake us, several times in the Bible.
01:03:26.960 --> 01:03:28.159
And that's a promise.
01:03:28.239 --> 01:03:30.719
Yeah, he ain't said nothing that he don't do.
01:03:31.519 --> 01:03:34.559
And I can tell you, I can give you 10,000 testimonies on that.
01:03:34.719 --> 01:03:40.559
So even through your brokenness, understand that it may be a storm now, but storms don't last forever.
01:03:40.960 --> 01:03:51.280
And God is always gonna be on the other side of that and and looking at you, and as you lean on him through it and give him his glory, yeah, he's gonna be smiling at you.
01:03:51.440 --> 01:03:51.599
Thank you.
01:03:52.079 --> 01:04:01.760
And he's gonna and then you're gonna understand that what we're discussing it today is not about feeling down, it's about understanding that you may be down today, but tomorrow you're gonna be up.
01:04:02.639 --> 01:04:03.199
Thank you, Lord.
01:04:03.679 --> 01:04:05.679
God is man, he's wonderful.
01:04:08.079 --> 01:04:09.920
So understand this one key thing.
01:04:10.000 --> 01:04:20.000
I and I again, we we are very transparent, and I thank God that that's for one, the Holy Spirit is perfect, God is perfect, and we're not ashamed of our past.
01:04:20.159 --> 01:04:22.480
No, because we're not our past.
01:04:22.800 --> 01:04:23.199
That's it.
01:04:23.840 --> 01:04:24.719
That's the key part.
01:04:24.880 --> 01:04:31.119
So, yeah, we bring up those things to give you examples of how we've been through traumatic things in our life too.
01:04:31.199 --> 01:04:32.639
But look at what God has brought us to do.
01:04:32.800 --> 01:04:33.280
That's right, right.
01:04:33.519 --> 01:04:33.760
That's right.
01:04:34.079 --> 01:04:35.119
He brought us out.
01:04:35.360 --> 01:04:38.400
And I want to encourage you because what time, what time do we have?
01:04:38.480 --> 01:04:39.679
Okay, but I want to move on.
01:04:39.920 --> 01:04:47.760
Um encourage everybody out there to uh once again pray and ask God to uh, you know, just show you your heart.
01:04:47.840 --> 01:04:48.000
Yeah.
01:04:48.239 --> 01:04:52.079
Because a lot of times we don't realize that we're walking in in brokenness.
01:04:52.239 --> 01:04:53.280
We really don't.
01:04:53.519 --> 01:05:01.119
Um and then to help you out too, um, there's some books out there that I looked up uh on brokenness.
01:05:01.199 --> 01:05:02.880
And one is by Dr.
01:05:03.119 --> 01:05:04.400
Charles Stanley.
01:05:05.119 --> 01:05:10.719
And uh his book says Finding God's Blessing in Brokenness.
01:05:10.880 --> 01:05:11.119
Yes.
01:05:11.519 --> 01:05:15.679
And that really stood out to me, too, because it is a blessing.
01:05:16.000 --> 01:05:18.880
Uh, because God get the glory once again.
01:05:19.039 --> 01:05:26.800
And then there's another book out there by Hiley uh Goldman, and her book, the title is From Brokenness to Restoration.
01:05:26.960 --> 01:05:32.800
Okay, this is our life, you know, because everybody born into this world is born into sin.
01:05:32.960 --> 01:05:33.360
Thank you, G.
01:05:33.679 --> 01:05:43.519
Uh, in a and we don't have that wholeness uh when we come into this world with God for in a sense of uh being right standing with God.
01:05:43.920 --> 01:05:53.199
And so, yeah, God can if we confess our sins once again and uh you know just believe in our heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.
01:05:53.360 --> 01:05:55.199
Now that we're made whole again.
01:05:55.519 --> 01:05:59.760
But through that, we're gonna we're gonna uh we're gonna experience some suffering.
01:06:00.960 --> 01:06:04.000
And and then that broke, then somebody's gonna broke break us again.
01:06:04.159 --> 01:06:08.880
Somebody gonna crush our spirit, but then we have our our loving God to go back to.
01:06:09.119 --> 01:06:09.360
Yes.
01:06:09.760 --> 01:06:11.199
Because the potter wants to what?
01:06:11.360 --> 01:06:13.440
Put us back together again.
01:06:15.199 --> 01:06:15.519
Uh-oh.
01:06:17.360 --> 01:06:26.480
Just to piggyback off what you're saying, Miss Pat, uh, I want to highlight also after brokenness is a breakthrough.
01:06:26.800 --> 01:06:29.760
Yes, you know, you're gonna have a spiritual breakthrough.
01:06:30.000 --> 01:06:33.280
So um it's not all bad.
01:06:34.000 --> 01:06:49.519
You know, um it takes me to a place just uh like the Bible character Naomi suffered intense grief and emptiness following the loss of her husband and both sons in a foreign land.
01:06:50.000 --> 01:07:01.199
And it just makes me think about when you when you're going through those losses that some people uh take a while to get get over the grieving and mourning period.
01:07:01.599 --> 01:07:09.840
Uh how did Christ feel when he sent this only begotten son to take on the sins of man, climb up on that cross and die.
01:07:10.400 --> 01:07:13.119
You know, and that was his only son, you know.
01:07:13.280 --> 01:07:18.400
So uh after brokenness, a breakthrough is after that.
01:07:18.559 --> 01:07:19.039
Yes, it is.
01:07:19.519 --> 01:07:19.760
Right.
01:07:20.159 --> 01:07:23.199
I want to add one thing that I didn't realize until I studied this.
01:07:23.280 --> 01:07:24.480
That bummed me in my head.
01:07:24.639 --> 01:07:25.840
That's the only last thing I'm gonna say.
01:07:26.320 --> 01:07:27.280
Stubbornness.
01:07:27.920 --> 01:07:30.000
Yeah, that's the only thing I ever heard.
01:07:30.239 --> 01:07:33.360
That's part of what that one, I said, Lord.
01:07:33.599 --> 01:07:36.079
And I get told I'm stubborn all the time.
01:07:36.400 --> 01:07:40.880
Well and then it I said, oh man, can we go again?
01:07:41.039 --> 01:07:43.199
I'm gonna step my big toe already broke.
01:07:43.280 --> 01:07:45.199
Now I'm a pinky toe hurt.
01:07:46.400 --> 01:07:59.679
But that was a big one that when I reached when I did the research, I did not realize that that fell in the alignment of this, of stubbornness and then like sinful habits of some key things that that that were it just man, it hit you.
01:07:59.840 --> 01:08:00.880
Yeah, yeah.
01:08:02.239 --> 01:08:20.560
Can I read this and then this I'm just thankful that you were obedient to the Holy Spirit because I know you was really hesitant at first, but you you told me, Jim, what I want to do broke, and then you changed it to broken nest, which really made so much sense.
01:08:20.800 --> 01:08:30.319
But one of my favorite, excuse me, songs that I play every day almost every day is Take My Life by Micah Stamply.
01:08:30.479 --> 01:08:34.479
And it's brokenness, brokenness is what I long for.
01:08:35.119 --> 01:08:38.800
Brokenness is what I need, it gotta be broken.
01:08:39.279 --> 01:08:42.800
Brokenness, that's what you want from me.
01:08:43.760 --> 01:08:46.239
Take my heart and mold it.
01:08:47.199 --> 01:08:50.880
Take my mind, transform it, that's it.
01:08:51.119 --> 01:08:58.319
Take my will, conform it to yours, to you, to yours, oh Lord.
01:08:58.479 --> 01:09:06.560
And that's my prayer for each and every person that is listening to this podcast, be it today or later.
01:09:07.760 --> 01:09:14.720
Just let God transform you, mold you, conform you to his will.
01:09:15.039 --> 01:09:16.479
And I promise you.
01:09:16.880 --> 01:09:18.239
Thank you, Jesus, thank you.
01:09:20.159 --> 01:09:22.960
Just give succumb to his will.
01:09:24.000 --> 01:09:25.039
Thank you, Jesus.
01:09:30.079 --> 01:09:31.119
It's not over.
01:09:32.239 --> 01:09:32.880
Scriptures.
01:09:33.840 --> 01:09:34.720
Thank you, Lord.
01:09:35.039 --> 01:09:36.159
You're worthy, thank you, Jesus.
01:09:38.720 --> 01:09:40.479
Psalms 147-3.
01:09:41.520 --> 01:09:45.199
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
01:09:45.760 --> 01:09:52.720
Matthew 11 and 28, come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
01:09:53.920 --> 01:09:55.119
I'm gonna add to it.
01:09:55.279 --> 01:09:57.439
2 Corinthians 12 and 9.
01:09:58.000 --> 01:10:04.560
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
01:10:04.800 --> 01:10:04.880
Yes.
01:10:05.279 --> 01:10:14.880
Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
01:10:15.039 --> 01:10:15.359
Yes.
01:10:15.760 --> 01:10:21.439
See, so weakness and brokenness allows God's strength and grace to fully work on us.
01:10:21.600 --> 01:10:24.399
So trust me, it's it's not all doom or gloom, baby.
01:10:24.479 --> 01:10:26.239
This we know the love we got.
01:10:26.720 --> 01:10:32.079
It's gonna be time we go through things, but just understand that through him all is possible and it's only temporary.
01:10:32.319 --> 01:10:32.560
Amen.
01:10:32.880 --> 01:10:36.239
And your selfishness is another, my son or two that needs to be broken.
01:10:36.960 --> 01:10:38.560
Just to stand on the topic of broken.
01:10:53.119 --> 01:10:59.279
Well, dealing with brokenness with within us, Lord, because there's so many different layers to this life we live.
01:10:59.600 --> 01:11:04.399
We ask that through this podcast, that people are encouraged to come to you, Lord.
01:11:04.800 --> 01:11:18.000
Come to you with the different things they may be suffering from, come to you and allow you to take over the life and to guide them in their life and to open their eyes to the things that they may still be dealing with subconsciously that they're still broken.
01:11:18.239 --> 01:11:24.319
I ask that you come and heal them, fix them, and use them healing hands to literally help them.
01:11:24.399 --> 01:11:29.680
So for one, they can be a living testimony of your greatness and that brings more people to you, Lord.
01:11:29.840 --> 01:11:41.920
We ask that if there's anybody that may be struggling with their faith or maybe wavering faith, that you come within them in the Holy Spirit and give them the revelations needed so that they can give you the glory and the praise that you deserve at all times, Lord.
01:11:42.239 --> 01:11:44.000
Because you're more than worthy of it, Lord.
01:11:44.640 --> 01:11:54.000
We ask that that even through the trying times and the way of the world now, Lord, that you help heal people, that you help give them the things that's going to help them in their lives.
01:11:54.079 --> 01:11:54.239
Yes.
01:11:54.479 --> 01:11:57.279
So that we can continue to fill that kingdom up, Lord.
01:11:57.680 --> 01:12:04.880
We know that our purpose here as Christians is not to only go to church, but to get in your word and most of all to try to bring more people to you, Lord.
01:12:05.279 --> 01:12:07.680
And again, through it all, you receive all the glory.
01:12:08.000 --> 01:12:13.279
And I ask that those that are listening that they gain something today and that they even pass it forward.
01:12:14.000 --> 01:12:22.000
Spread the word of vent one of ones podcasts out there so we can do this together, Lord, and let them know that we we're going through the same things they are.
01:12:22.479 --> 01:12:26.239
But the one thing we do know is that you're gonna get us and help us through this, Lord.
01:12:26.720 --> 01:12:32.880
We know that it's we have to get used to being uncomfortable in this walk because why the enemy is always gonna try.
01:12:33.039 --> 01:12:45.119
So give them the strength, the encouragement, the power, the holy boldness, so they can step up in your name and your name only and keep this thing going so we can continue the righteous path that you want us to go on, Lord.
01:12:45.279 --> 01:12:47.359
These are the things I have to do tonight.
00:00:46.719 --> 00:00:50.000
You can find us wherever you can see.
00:01:32.480 --> 00:01:33.439
It's June in the moon.
00:01:35.519 --> 00:01:38.879
Now, first of all, I just want to say happy birthday to my lovely sister.
00:01:39.280 --> 00:01:40.000
Happy birthday.
00:01:41.359 --> 00:01:44.000
Even though it was yesterday, I just want to say happy birthday.
00:01:44.159 --> 00:01:45.599
Look at those lovely roses.
00:01:48.319 --> 00:01:49.439
And I also want to thank you.
00:01:51.519 --> 00:01:58.000
I want to thank her so much for allowing me to have this spot this morning.
00:01:59.040 --> 00:02:17.039
And before we go into our subject, I just want to see every listening out there to please open up, open up your heart, your ears, because this is a very, very serious subject that we're about to uh embark on.
00:02:17.199 --> 00:02:17.680
Yes.
00:02:18.319 --> 00:02:21.039
I say that because I lived it.
00:02:22.400 --> 00:02:26.479
And I feel through this lesson that I'm still going through something.
00:02:27.759 --> 00:02:30.159
So I just need y'all's prayers.
00:02:31.280 --> 00:02:32.719
Because God is so awesome.
00:02:32.800 --> 00:02:35.039
And uh thank you again, June, for this opportunity to do that.
00:02:35.360 --> 00:02:35.759
Thank you, Jesus.
00:02:35.919 --> 00:02:37.120
I'm trying to keep my composure.
00:02:37.360 --> 00:02:38.000
That's all right.
00:02:38.240 --> 00:02:40.000
But um, this thing is real, y'all.
00:02:40.479 --> 00:02:41.039
Oh, it is.
00:02:41.520 --> 00:02:44.000
And then we're gonna be talking about brokenness.
00:02:45.039 --> 00:02:47.439
Um second though.
00:02:49.120 --> 00:02:49.919
Oh, I'm sorry, yeah.
00:02:50.159 --> 00:02:50.800
Oh, you're fine.
00:02:50.960 --> 00:02:52.240
See, that's why I'm gonna be able to do it.
00:02:53.759 --> 00:02:54.639
Okay, yeah.
00:02:54.960 --> 00:02:56.960
By the way, this is Antoine speaking.
00:02:57.120 --> 00:03:03.039
Hope everybody's having a good day out there, and another happy birthday to my wonderful, beautiful mother over to the side of the room.
00:03:03.840 --> 00:03:05.039
Amen, amen.
00:03:06.960 --> 00:03:10.479
And I'm Richard Shaw, and I'm just glad to be here.
00:03:10.560 --> 00:03:14.159
And again, happy birthday to the greatest godmother of all time.
00:03:14.800 --> 00:03:15.360
Mercy, thank you.
00:03:15.919 --> 00:03:16.560
Definitely to go.
00:03:16.800 --> 00:03:17.520
Thank you, Jesus.
00:03:18.080 --> 00:03:21.280
I'm June in the room, and I'm so humbled.
00:03:21.439 --> 00:03:26.400
Uh, I know it's just a blessing to be here.
00:03:26.879 --> 00:03:29.520
Uh, I'm just thankful for this podcast.
00:03:29.599 --> 00:03:36.479
I'm thankful for uh Pat, Antoine, and Rich, my godsons, they spoil me so much.
00:03:36.639 --> 00:03:38.560
These are roses from my son.
00:03:39.360 --> 00:03:44.080
And then my son, my other son, is taking me to see the thorn this afternoon.
00:03:44.319 --> 00:03:48.560
So I'm just a blessed, I'm a happy camper today.
00:03:49.039 --> 00:03:50.159
Thank you, Jesus.
00:03:50.560 --> 00:03:51.120
Yes.
00:03:51.439 --> 00:03:52.080
All right.
00:03:53.280 --> 00:03:56.080
So, and thank you so much, Antoine.
00:03:56.400 --> 00:03:57.759
They're trying to loosen me up.
00:03:58.080 --> 00:03:59.199
I know what y'all are doing.
00:03:59.680 --> 00:04:02.240
Thank you so much for reminding me of that.
00:04:02.400 --> 00:04:08.159
Um, but um, when you think about brokenness, you have to think about broken first.
00:04:08.319 --> 00:04:24.160
Yes, you know, um broken by itself, uh, it's just it's just uh a deep emotional uh pain or or some type of um damage that's have been done to you.
00:04:24.959 --> 00:04:33.839
Um and it's also uh external uh trauma or internal failure of some sort on your own doing.
00:04:35.120 --> 00:04:40.800
Um thinking about that um it affects the heart.
00:04:41.759 --> 00:04:55.759
When you when you're broken, you think about uh when you were younger, and I I won't get into that a little bit more, but when we were younger, you know, we got our hearts broke a whole lot, especially when we was um expecting something, you know.
00:04:56.000 --> 00:05:01.600
Uh like your parents say, well, if you do this and do that, you know, uh I'm gonna get you something or what?
00:05:01.680 --> 00:05:03.199
And you you expecting it, right?
00:05:03.759 --> 00:05:05.920
It don't come, your heart be so broken.
00:05:06.399 --> 00:05:07.439
You know what I mean?
00:05:07.600 --> 00:05:09.199
And sometimes we carry that.
00:05:09.360 --> 00:05:13.040
We carry that too long till it becomes brokenness.
00:05:13.199 --> 00:05:16.319
And what when I say brokenness, that that means you haven't let go.
00:05:16.399 --> 00:05:27.439
It you can't lose from that and it become a stronghold because what you're doing inside or what's going on inside of you is gonna come out and you're gonna start reacting.
00:05:27.680 --> 00:05:35.759
And just to tell a little bit about the natural part of being broken, is that my life, uh, I was in a foster home.
00:05:35.839 --> 00:05:45.759
I couldn't understand uh at eight years old why why I'm in a foster home and the rest of my similians, nine of them, is still at home, you know, that broke me.
00:05:46.240 --> 00:05:49.040
It really, really broke my heart because I couldn't understand.
00:05:49.680 --> 00:06:01.040
Come to find out by hearing, you know, hearing things that, you know, I was bad, uh, you know, just unruly, uh, you know, I wouldn't never listen, and different stuff like that.
00:06:01.120 --> 00:06:03.519
And I did have ADHD, I really did.
00:06:03.600 --> 00:06:04.800
I I I know that.
00:06:04.959 --> 00:06:10.240
And when somebody jumped off a roof and turn them back, was flip onto some, you know, something is going on with them.
00:06:11.199 --> 00:06:11.519
Yeah.
00:06:12.399 --> 00:06:14.480
Climbing trees and jumping out of trees.
00:06:15.199 --> 00:06:17.040
Yeah, some something going on.
00:06:17.600 --> 00:06:20.000
Uh that's normal for a boy, I believe.
00:06:20.240 --> 00:06:28.800
But um just thinking about that and sitting there, sitting there in the corner with a dog, you know, like this this don't feel good.
00:06:29.439 --> 00:06:32.959
So being broken, it it makes you feel so, so bad.
00:06:33.279 --> 00:06:39.519
And it became uh anger in me, bitterness, unforgiveness for a long time.
00:06:40.319 --> 00:06:45.199
Um, and so that's that's part of um the brokenness that I want to talk about today.
00:06:45.439 --> 00:06:46.879
The that natural part.
00:06:47.439 --> 00:06:57.680
And then I want to stop here too and open up to the panelists that and ask you guys, you know, what do you think about the natural part of being broken?
00:06:58.399 --> 00:07:09.439
Because we we're gonna go into the spiritual part, but let's talk about these natural things, you know, what happens to children um at a young age and stuff like that, the trauma.
00:07:12.319 --> 00:07:33.120
I'll start with uh a couple of things that I've gone went through in my childhood that I've prayed about uh because here lately, uh the last over the last month and a half, I've been praying and I asked God to reveal what needs to be healed inside of me that I forgot about.
00:07:33.360 --> 00:07:39.360
And one thing that I remembered uh that came to my mind is just having a granddaughter.
00:07:39.680 --> 00:07:49.040
Um my friend of 40 years reminded me last night that um my granddaughter is spoiled.
00:07:51.600 --> 00:07:57.439
But what I'm getting at is when I was her age, I was obese.
00:07:58.720 --> 00:08:01.360
Um there was no clothes that I could wear.
00:08:01.519 --> 00:08:04.639
Figure I was in the the 60s and early 70s.
00:08:04.800 --> 00:08:11.040
So back then they didn't have plus size clothing for girls.
00:08:11.360 --> 00:08:28.079
So I was broken because I got taunt taunted and made fun of my because I had eczema and I was overweight, and uh I went through a period of depression in my teens where I actually just stopped going to school.
00:08:28.240 --> 00:08:29.759
I wouldn't get out of the bed.
00:08:31.199 --> 00:08:37.039
And uh my mother used to sweep up piles of my skin, literally.
00:08:37.440 --> 00:08:45.440
And uh they prayed for me over me uh because uh I was just in a I was broken.
00:08:46.159 --> 00:09:01.840
You know, and um when I came out of it, uh I felt better because once I got out of the bed, I had lost weight and I was able to wear different clothes.
00:09:02.000 --> 00:09:07.600
So that kind of helped my self-esteem, but I still dealt with the uh problem of having eczema.
00:09:07.679 --> 00:09:12.480
That broke me, you know, because I was like, Lord, why do I have to have eczema?
00:09:13.279 --> 00:09:16.159
And I I wore long sleeves till I was 40.
00:09:16.240 --> 00:09:17.919
Y'all probably don't even realize that.
00:09:18.080 --> 00:09:26.960
I wore long sleeves until I was 40 years old, because I lived in a state of brokenness and self-consciousness at the same time.
00:09:27.759 --> 00:09:35.200
But this really, that's why I said the brokenness uh is really relevant for today.
00:09:35.360 --> 00:09:47.360
It is because a lot of people are going through, believers, which I'm talking about now, a lot of believers are going through the brokenness that they don't even realize.
00:09:47.519 --> 00:10:06.720
What Pat just said, you it's for your family, for your mom or your mom and dad to make sure that you were given away, you know, that had to put you mentally and physically, you know, in a state of dang, absolutely it breaks you down, yeah, is what I'm getting at.
00:10:06.879 --> 00:10:07.759
Yeah, it does.
00:10:08.240 --> 00:10:08.559
It does.
00:10:08.799 --> 00:10:13.200
That was that's what resonated with me as being when I was a child.
00:10:13.440 --> 00:10:14.799
Yeah, my God.
00:10:15.039 --> 00:10:15.440
True.
00:10:16.080 --> 00:10:27.519
That's a deep one, especially once you go into childhood, because the one thing that that I learned later, a lot of different ways that we handle things in life, especially as we get older, is extends from then.
00:10:28.559 --> 00:10:38.399
And I had just to keep it uh real plain to try to keep it fast, I could say there's two key things that that broke me as a child.
00:10:38.639 --> 00:10:44.159
The first, well, and the the first thing I'm gonna say was a motivational thing as I grew older.
00:10:44.320 --> 00:10:49.519
But the the first thing was just the broken promises of my father saying he's gonna come be there.
00:10:50.080 --> 00:10:50.399
Come on.
00:10:50.639 --> 00:10:54.399
And sitting there at that window or door just waiting.
00:10:54.639 --> 00:11:08.720
Yep, and wondering what did I do wrong and all these different things as a child, because that's the natural you're gonna think it's you and not per se the other person, especially as a child, because you don't know any better.
00:11:08.799 --> 00:11:09.039
Yeah.
00:11:09.600 --> 00:11:13.919
But the key part of that it motivated me to be where I'm at now, the polar opposite of that.
00:11:14.159 --> 00:11:14.320
Amen.
00:11:14.960 --> 00:11:22.320
To make sure to endure the storms I went through to even get my daughter when it could have been so easily to say, forget it.
00:11:22.879 --> 00:11:28.159
But that was something through brokenness just to give some hope on the aspect of that.
00:11:28.480 --> 00:11:33.279
That was one thing that honestly meant, then the second thing was going through a lot of death at a young age.
00:11:34.240 --> 00:11:44.320
Um, growing up and with a having a large family and losing a lot of aunties and uncles to by the time I even I think maybe even a teenager.
00:11:44.799 --> 00:11:56.399
Just seeing like certain families lose um limbs and and some just passing away from whether it be maybe cancer or health issues of or not taking care of self.
00:11:56.720 --> 00:12:06.320
And again, those different things is what pushed me to be more into health and be, and even got into it because I wanted to kill that stigma within my family.
00:12:06.639 --> 00:12:14.960
But just saying my grandmothers was the two most impactful when it comes to the death thing, and it impacted me farther in life.
00:12:15.120 --> 00:12:20.320
To where, and even back then, when I was a kid, I took it out as what you said, anger.
00:12:20.639 --> 00:12:30.159
And it turned the things psychologically where when things of sadness, for most people, they may cry or feel like a worry feeling.
00:12:30.240 --> 00:12:32.879
It brought rage and anger out of me.
00:12:32.960 --> 00:12:33.120
Yeah.
00:12:33.279 --> 00:12:43.679
So I started bullying and acting up at school, and and lo and behold, I said, God is always good because my mother put me in football and I got into weight training.
00:12:43.759 --> 00:12:49.440
So that was another form of way for me to release that instead of letting my anger out on others.
00:12:49.600 --> 00:12:50.000
That's right.
00:12:50.399 --> 00:12:56.000
But even farther than that, just to wind out to the end, even farther in life is still impacting me.
00:12:56.080 --> 00:12:59.200
Because even like now I'm doing good today, because I ain't even cry talking about it.
00:12:59.360 --> 00:12:59.919
She knows that.
00:13:00.480 --> 00:13:02.879
That's how I know the impact of my grandmothers on me.
00:13:02.960 --> 00:13:03.039
Yes.
00:13:03.360 --> 00:13:06.960
Because it'd be hard for me to talk about them without even shedding a tears.
00:13:08.080 --> 00:13:12.080
But that let me know that I just showed me that I'm a little bit farther, because I can do it without crying.
00:13:12.159 --> 00:13:12.320
Yeah.
00:13:12.960 --> 00:13:18.559
But just going through those different things, life broke me and it it made me look in the mirror more as I got older.
00:13:18.960 --> 00:13:26.080
Because even though I was older and football was gone, weight training wasn't every day, that anger came back.
00:13:26.559 --> 00:13:27.840
Depression came in.
00:13:28.240 --> 00:13:43.120
I invited the enemy in in the wrong way, going to the bottle or going to sitting like with my mom, similar to my mom said, sitting in the house in the dark, just drinking, crying, facing adverse times instead of where I'm at now, where I know what to do.
00:13:43.279 --> 00:13:45.759
Then I knew what to do, but I just didn't choose to.
00:13:46.240 --> 00:13:48.639
Because it was always putting at me from the way I was raised.
00:13:49.200 --> 00:13:56.240
But going through those different storms in life, for one, but we're gonna get to later, the brokenness, it helps build you.
00:13:56.879 --> 00:14:04.000
And the key part is keeping God first and asking for revelations of the things, such as what my mom said, to help us get past those things.
00:14:04.080 --> 00:14:04.720
Yes, right.
00:14:04.879 --> 00:14:05.200
Amen.
00:14:05.519 --> 00:14:06.879
Can I interject one more?
00:14:07.279 --> 00:14:11.519
I wanted to reiterate, uh, because I said my granddaughter was spoiled.
00:14:11.679 --> 00:14:36.799
The reason why, the reason why is because when you are uh a lot of times when you're preteens and teens, early teens, you get you go through a transition physically and your emotions, and and she went through that state of being, I'm ugly, nah nah.
00:14:36.879 --> 00:14:39.279
No, you're not girl, as pretty as you are.
00:14:39.600 --> 00:14:46.240
And and I I made, I told my son years ago, I I know it was discernment, cutting it short.
00:14:46.399 --> 00:14:51.039
I knew that he was going to have a little daughter with red hair.
00:14:51.440 --> 00:14:57.440
I kept telling him that even when you were a teenager, you're gonna have a daughter and she's gonna have red hair.
00:14:57.679 --> 00:14:59.440
And boom, here we go.
00:14:59.600 --> 00:15:08.080
But I made a vow back then I didn't have two nickels to rub together, like Craig used to say on the uh Snoot Sandwich.
00:15:08.399 --> 00:15:16.399
But I said, I'm gonna, I'm gonna make sure if I have a granddaughter, she's gonna be clean and she is going to represent.
00:15:16.559 --> 00:15:25.440
And that's what I God has blessed me with enough income to be able to make sure that she doesn't be self-conscious like that.
00:15:25.600 --> 00:15:26.399
You know what I mean?
00:15:26.559 --> 00:15:27.919
And and I did just hit me.
00:15:28.080 --> 00:15:30.480
That's why, yeah, she be clean too.
00:15:30.559 --> 00:15:31.840
She told me this, all right.
00:15:31.919 --> 00:15:32.720
Yeah, amen.
00:15:33.039 --> 00:15:33.200
Sorry.
00:15:34.159 --> 00:15:36.000
No, but I think a lot of kids go through that too, though.
00:15:36.159 --> 00:15:36.720
That's the key thing.
00:15:37.279 --> 00:15:40.720
Kids gonna go through those different times, it's brokenness.
00:15:40.799 --> 00:15:52.960
Um a state of being badly damaged, emotionally shattered, or deeply humbled to the point of realizing one's own limitations and need for healing.
00:15:53.519 --> 00:16:01.519
The term carries distinct meanings depending on whether it's used in everyday life, psychology, or a spiritual context.
00:16:02.240 --> 00:16:11.840
So when I was researching this, it it it's it's wild how you guys just brought up a whole different side of this.
00:16:12.000 --> 00:16:23.200
Yes, you know, like a uh a real deep internal reflection of the things and remembering the things that uh in areas where you were broken.
00:16:23.360 --> 00:16:31.200
And researching this, I never went to that side until y'all just started to share it.
00:16:31.360 --> 00:16:38.559
And it made me say, okay, where were some of the the areas where I were where I was broken or feeling broken?
00:16:39.120 --> 00:16:42.320
Like, man, not having much.
00:16:42.639 --> 00:16:47.200
Um I remember when we had to go live in my grandmother's basement.
00:16:47.279 --> 00:16:50.240
We had shower curtains divided as bedrooms.
00:16:50.720 --> 00:16:54.799
You know, uh and you know, it was whispers throughout the family.
00:16:55.039 --> 00:16:56.320
Yeah, I said it.
00:16:56.879 --> 00:16:59.440
Um and I stand on it.
00:16:59.679 --> 00:17:15.519
Um but I had certain people like my friends I grew up with never um that's okay, brother.
00:17:15.680 --> 00:17:16.640
Thank you, Jesus.
00:17:21.119 --> 00:17:21.519
Thank you.
00:17:25.119 --> 00:17:30.559
Thank you, Jesus Thank you, Jesus never made fun of me.
00:17:31.119 --> 00:17:32.240
Thank you, Jesus.
00:17:33.920 --> 00:17:34.960
My brother.
00:17:36.000 --> 00:17:37.200
Thank you, Jesus.
00:17:37.519 --> 00:17:39.440
Well then the shares closed with me.
00:17:40.000 --> 00:17:40.960
Thank you, Jesus.
00:17:41.119 --> 00:17:41.440
Yeah.
00:17:42.319 --> 00:17:43.200
Love you, bro.
00:17:43.680 --> 00:17:44.720
Love you too, my James.
00:17:45.359 --> 00:17:45.599
Amen.
00:17:47.519 --> 00:17:47.920
Come on.
00:17:48.240 --> 00:17:49.039
It's all right.
00:17:49.200 --> 00:17:49.839
It's okay.
00:17:50.400 --> 00:17:54.079
It led me to street activity.
00:17:54.319 --> 00:17:55.359
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:17:55.839 --> 00:17:59.440
I knew I had no business out there hustling.
00:18:01.920 --> 00:18:02.240
Thank you.
00:18:02.640 --> 00:18:04.799
But I didn't want to be a burden to my parents.
00:18:07.200 --> 00:18:10.319
Trying to get the things my friends had.
00:18:11.680 --> 00:18:12.960
Nice clothes.
00:18:14.079 --> 00:18:15.200
Yeah, yeah.
00:18:17.599 --> 00:18:19.359
This is healing understanding.
00:18:19.680 --> 00:18:20.799
Thank you, Jesus.
00:18:21.599 --> 00:18:22.799
Thank you, Lord.
00:18:24.160 --> 00:18:24.960
Hi, mother.
00:18:25.599 --> 00:18:26.640
Thank you, Lord.
00:18:28.480 --> 00:18:30.160
You deserve more flowers than that.
00:18:30.559 --> 00:18:31.119
Yes, you do.
00:18:31.440 --> 00:18:32.319
Yes, you do.
00:18:33.359 --> 00:18:33.839
Yeah.
00:18:34.240 --> 00:18:41.039
Because the first time I had my own bedroom was at her house.
00:18:43.519 --> 00:18:47.680
I don't know if she ever knew how much that meant to me.
00:18:50.240 --> 00:18:50.960
That's okay.
00:18:51.440 --> 00:18:53.920
Being able to come to her house every weekend.
00:18:54.480 --> 00:18:55.519
Thank you, Jesus.
00:18:57.359 --> 00:18:59.359
Never being turned away.
00:19:00.000 --> 00:19:02.079
Even when we were in trouble.
00:19:02.880 --> 00:19:03.920
One time I did.
00:19:05.440 --> 00:19:06.240
Yeah, I really didn't know.
00:19:06.400 --> 00:19:07.599
It was on and only one time.
00:19:09.680 --> 00:19:10.400
Lord, I'm mercy.
00:19:10.720 --> 00:19:11.119
That's all right.
00:19:11.279 --> 00:19:12.160
That's beautiful though.
00:19:12.240 --> 00:19:12.799
That's beautiful.
00:19:12.960 --> 00:19:13.599
Thank you, Jesus.
00:19:13.839 --> 00:19:14.160
Wow.
00:19:15.279 --> 00:19:17.039
This is healing.
00:19:17.599 --> 00:19:22.880
That's why I knew uh the real meaning of a godmother.
00:19:23.839 --> 00:19:29.119
Like the cause when my mom went on to glory.
00:19:34.160 --> 00:19:36.480
And my siblings understand it.
00:19:40.079 --> 00:19:44.079
That understood what it was to make room for my godmother.
00:19:44.559 --> 00:19:46.160
She would always be there.
00:19:52.240 --> 00:19:53.200
Thank you, Jesus.
00:19:53.599 --> 00:19:54.319
Brokenness.
00:19:54.640 --> 00:19:55.519
Thank you, Jesus.
00:19:55.920 --> 00:19:56.319
Thank you.
00:19:56.960 --> 00:20:02.640
Sometimes uh I had a lot of I was good at writing music.
00:20:08.640 --> 00:20:09.759
Things I was doing.
00:20:11.119 --> 00:20:12.880
Having an addict father.
00:20:17.359 --> 00:20:19.039
They just talk about you.
00:20:23.039 --> 00:20:24.480
Trying to treat you differently.
00:20:24.720 --> 00:20:26.000
They treat you similar.
00:20:27.119 --> 00:20:28.319
It's divisive.
00:20:30.400 --> 00:20:32.079
But I never stood for that.
00:20:33.440 --> 00:20:39.440
I remember telling a family member you might as well treat me like you treat them.
00:20:39.920 --> 00:20:40.400
Come on.
00:20:41.440 --> 00:20:46.799
Because I remember my mother saying one day all y'all gonna have is y'all.
00:20:48.400 --> 00:20:50.240
Even when you ain't got nothing.
00:20:50.640 --> 00:20:51.359
Thank you, James.
00:20:51.599 --> 00:20:52.160
I told you.
00:20:52.559 --> 00:21:02.960
So I'm thankful to Father for when I was going into the areas of employment.
00:21:03.920 --> 00:21:08.319
Maybe fugal with my money and to look after my family members.
00:21:08.880 --> 00:21:11.920
It wasn't nothing that they couldn't get from me.
00:21:12.880 --> 00:21:16.880
Because I know what it was like to not have.
00:21:17.359 --> 00:21:19.359
And I always share it with my wife.
00:21:20.559 --> 00:21:22.640
I know what zero look like.
00:21:23.119 --> 00:21:23.759
Come on.
00:21:24.160 --> 00:21:24.640
Come on.
00:21:24.880 --> 00:21:25.680
Thank you, Jesus.
00:21:26.079 --> 00:21:26.559
Thank you, Lord.
00:21:27.119 --> 00:21:27.759
Thank you, Lord.
00:21:27.920 --> 00:21:28.480
Yeah, yeah.
00:21:28.640 --> 00:21:30.079
You're worthy, Father.
00:21:30.240 --> 00:21:30.480
Yeah.
00:21:30.720 --> 00:21:35.599
And with God's help, I'm never going back to that.
00:21:35.920 --> 00:21:36.319
Yes.
00:21:36.559 --> 00:21:37.759
Thank you, Jesus.
00:21:38.160 --> 00:21:39.200
Beautiful.
00:21:39.599 --> 00:21:43.839
So yeah, Miss Bet, I thank you for this uh topic, Carrie.
00:21:44.000 --> 00:21:44.160
Yeah.
00:21:44.640 --> 00:21:45.279
Brokenness.
00:21:45.680 --> 00:21:50.160
Because uh sometimes we we just bury it in our subconscious.
00:21:50.400 --> 00:21:50.559
Yes.
00:21:51.440 --> 00:21:52.000
Oh no.
00:21:55.440 --> 00:21:58.880
No, we're still on the narrow part because that's part of the heart.
00:22:00.240 --> 00:22:03.359
I just want you to finish up so I can go ahead and finish this.
00:22:04.880 --> 00:22:14.720
So we're actually talking about the natural part of brokenness, the natural part, what's in that heart, what holds us, you know, back.
00:22:14.960 --> 00:22:21.200
Um it is not a primary basic emotion, y'all.
00:22:21.359 --> 00:22:21.920
Yes.
00:22:22.079 --> 00:22:28.319
But it's rather a complex state of being overwhelmed with pain and despair.
00:22:28.640 --> 00:22:38.240
And it develops into the brokenness because we haven't dealt with the element that broke that um caused us to break.
00:22:38.880 --> 00:22:39.920
We haven't dealt with it.
00:22:40.960 --> 00:22:43.519
Brokenness is a universal thing.
00:22:43.839 --> 00:22:54.240
So know this that everybody born into this world will experience some point, at some point, will experience a time of brokenness.
00:22:54.400 --> 00:22:54.799
Yes.
00:22:55.680 --> 00:23:02.000
And uh in in the research I looked up, um there are more than 66%.
00:23:04.160 --> 00:23:09.920
That's three uh two-thirds of children that have experienced being broken already.
00:23:12.720 --> 00:23:24.880
And broken because of once again, trauma, like events like uh being neglected, abused, verbally, yeah, uh physically abused, you know.
00:23:25.279 --> 00:23:27.759
And then also natural disasters.
00:23:28.000 --> 00:23:35.599
Maybe the house got burnt down, you know, or the tornado hit or flood, you know, came back.
00:23:35.680 --> 00:23:41.599
You know, people are devastated and they're broken in that, but children experience these things too.
00:23:42.079 --> 00:23:43.839
So we can't forget that.
00:23:44.079 --> 00:23:50.079
And those are the natural things that I was wanting us to bring out, you know, about being broken.
00:23:50.319 --> 00:23:53.039
Um, because God, He's there to fix the heart.
00:23:53.119 --> 00:24:11.119
Yeah, you know, when we're we're broken heart, and we'll get into the scriptures, but I want to say too, in the US, um 70% of adults uh have experienced some type of um traumatic uh event once or twice in their life.
00:24:11.680 --> 00:24:13.200
And we don't know how to let go.
00:24:13.359 --> 00:24:18.240
I think you mentioned about you know growing in it, you know, letting loose of things.
00:24:18.400 --> 00:24:21.759
And this is what we want to talk about today about brokenness.
00:24:22.000 --> 00:24:27.039
Brokenness is not uh permanent, no, it's not a permanent state.
00:24:27.440 --> 00:24:28.160
Thank you, Jesus.
00:24:28.400 --> 00:24:29.519
Thank you, Lord, thank you.
00:24:29.920 --> 00:24:33.359
He's here, he's here, he's here to help us.
00:24:33.599 --> 00:24:39.839
Um, I don't have my Bible, but in Psalms, this is how God He wants to fix us.
00:24:39.920 --> 00:24:43.680
In Psalms, it says, the Lord is close to the brokenhearted.
00:24:43.759 --> 00:24:52.240
Yes, and save those who are crushed in spirit, yes, or a contrite spirit, which is the same thing.
00:24:52.480 --> 00:24:54.640
So we're talking about two different things here again.
00:24:54.799 --> 00:25:03.200
We're talking about the natural part of the heart part, the natural part, the emotion of things that happen.
00:25:03.440 --> 00:25:07.920
Then we're also talking about the spirit when people can crush your spirit.
00:25:08.079 --> 00:25:16.319
Yes, they can, they can crush your, they can people say your dreams crush your dreams, but it's your spirit that people crush.
00:25:16.960 --> 00:25:22.640
You know, because they'll tell you you can't do that, or you, you know, you ain't worried of that or whatever.
00:25:22.720 --> 00:25:24.720
You know, you you your spirit is crushed.
00:25:24.799 --> 00:25:24.960
Yeah.
00:25:25.119 --> 00:25:29.519
Because you you going on like, you know, I'm confident I can do this, I can do that, you know, whatever.
00:25:29.680 --> 00:25:37.759
And then all of a sudden you get this, and then you let go of what you know within yourself that you're able to do.
00:25:38.240 --> 00:25:41.279
And so we carry that that brokenness, we carry it.
00:25:41.839 --> 00:25:55.039
You know, and uh and speaking on the theological or the spiritual part of it, it is necessary, it is necessary for transformation.
00:25:55.440 --> 00:25:57.440
Yes, it really is.
00:25:57.839 --> 00:26:01.519
I didn't even see it like that when June gave me the topic or whatever.
00:26:01.680 --> 00:26:12.799
I didn't see it like, you know, how you get transformed, you know, by it's and so that's why we have to study, we have to, you know, seek the Lord for, you know, revelation uh in the word.
00:26:13.119 --> 00:26:18.880
And so with that, um brokenness can lead us to surrendering to God.
00:26:19.599 --> 00:26:29.839
It strips away everything that you think you know and that you somebody hurt my feelings, and you know, they took me down that road and all that, it strips away all that.
00:26:30.240 --> 00:26:32.000
And it's basically pride.
00:26:32.720 --> 00:26:43.039
That's why we keep walking in that brokenness because we don't want people to be saying, like, oh, she she still crying, or she she ain't got no job yet.
00:26:43.200 --> 00:26:44.880
You you know what I'm saying?
00:26:45.039 --> 00:26:46.400
We have to be transparent.
00:26:46.720 --> 00:27:01.279
God knows what's in our heart, he just don't know our heart, he knows what's in there, yeah, and so we want to put on a facade of like everything is hunky-dory, yeah, but you've broken like a cracked egg.
00:27:01.759 --> 00:27:04.960
And and and God is me and my sister.
00:27:05.039 --> 00:27:06.319
I hope she's listening today.
00:27:06.559 --> 00:27:10.079
But years ago, about 20 something years ago, we were trying to sing this song.
00:27:10.240 --> 00:27:14.960
I forget who singing, but it says the potter wants to put you back together again.
00:27:15.440 --> 00:27:16.480
Oh, that's my song.
00:27:16.720 --> 00:27:18.720
I can't, I don't even know who's the artist.
00:27:18.960 --> 00:27:19.279
The pot.
00:27:20.000 --> 00:27:21.519
That's uh yeah, there you go.
00:27:21.680 --> 00:27:29.599
Yeah, because we are what broken and um that's uh Bashawn Mitchell and uh uh uh she got it.
00:27:29.839 --> 00:27:30.319
What's up?
00:27:31.039 --> 00:27:32.400
I don't know, I'm telling you.
00:27:32.640 --> 00:27:41.279
All I know is the old old I'm talking about that real old.
00:27:53.440 --> 00:27:56.000
Can I uh comment?
00:27:56.240 --> 00:27:57.519
Yeah, oh I'm sorry, yeah.
00:27:57.680 --> 00:27:58.000
Go ahead.
00:27:58.400 --> 00:28:00.240
I'm just trying to get into the spiritual.
00:28:00.720 --> 00:28:02.400
Oh no, yeah, yeah.
00:28:02.559 --> 00:28:04.799
Uh Keisha, good morning, Keisha.
00:28:06.079 --> 00:28:08.240
She said, good morning, everyone.
00:28:08.720 --> 00:28:09.920
Jokes on y'all.
00:28:10.079 --> 00:28:11.519
I wanted to cry today.
00:28:11.759 --> 00:28:12.160
Oh god.
00:28:13.839 --> 00:28:15.279
Crystal, uh Christmas.
00:28:18.640 --> 00:28:26.640
She said good morning, and uh Rich said, I mean, she said uh Keisha said, You're right, Rich.
00:28:26.960 --> 00:28:34.400
A lot, a lot of things buried in the subconscious, a lot of people don't know how to deal with it.
00:28:34.640 --> 00:28:38.640
I truly believe verbal abuse is the biggest issue of all.
00:28:38.880 --> 00:28:40.480
And Crystal says, Amen.
00:28:40.880 --> 00:28:43.759
I'm a true testament that it's not over.
00:28:44.799 --> 00:28:48.160
I said, I put I said over, but she said it's not.
00:28:48.319 --> 00:28:48.559
All right.
00:28:48.799 --> 00:28:50.079
Tremaine Hawkins, okay.
00:28:50.319 --> 00:28:51.359
Tremaine Hawkins, yeah.
00:28:51.519 --> 00:28:51.680
Thank you.
00:28:52.720 --> 00:28:54.000
Mike May, I knew she'd know.
00:28:54.240 --> 00:28:55.519
Crystal said, I miss y'all.
00:28:55.920 --> 00:28:56.400
We miss you.
00:28:56.640 --> 00:28:57.279
We miss you too.
00:28:57.599 --> 00:28:58.319
We miss you.
00:28:58.720 --> 00:29:02.160
Yeah, we wait for you to come back in the studio, girl.
00:29:02.559 --> 00:29:04.240
I'm trying to make light.
00:29:04.960 --> 00:29:10.079
Because yeah, y'all know we've been boo-hooing in there, but um go ahead, Pat.
00:29:11.119 --> 00:29:11.920
Thank you, ladies.
00:29:12.079 --> 00:29:12.880
Appreciate y'all.
00:29:12.960 --> 00:29:21.200
Yeah, but um brokenness it often bridges deep um personal uh hardship with spiritual reflection.
00:29:21.279 --> 00:29:29.920
I think one of y'all said, I'd be forgetting who said what, but y'all said something about reflection, uh reflecting on something or looking in the mirror or something like that.
00:29:30.559 --> 00:29:31.599
You said that, yeah.
00:29:31.759 --> 00:29:37.519
And so that's what it does, and it brings uh also uh physical healing to us.
00:29:38.160 --> 00:29:42.960
And so uh brokenness is not like I said, it's not a permanent thing.
00:29:43.680 --> 00:29:47.839
You know, your life is not in ruins because of what you've been through.
00:29:48.319 --> 00:29:49.359
I'm a living witness.
00:29:49.440 --> 00:29:52.559
I can sit here and tell you a whole bunch of stuff that I went through.
00:29:54.559 --> 00:29:54.880
Yes.
00:29:55.440 --> 00:30:01.039
Uh but I'm here today by the grace of God because I let go of the brokenness.
00:30:01.279 --> 00:30:05.759
I let go, I yield to God and say, hey, I can't I can't do this, I can't handle this.
00:30:06.480 --> 00:30:06.960
You know?
00:30:07.759 --> 00:30:12.720
And it I don't know, it probably was pride, but I couldn't recognize if it was.
00:30:13.200 --> 00:30:19.359
But I always had to be this strong person, you know, like, you know, because of the childhood trauma.
00:30:19.519 --> 00:30:22.400
I had to, you know, defend myself.
00:30:22.720 --> 00:30:27.279
And so it could have been a part of pride that I didn't let go a lot of stuff.
00:30:27.519 --> 00:30:30.160
But I thank God today that I'm free from that.
00:30:30.319 --> 00:30:34.720
I know I'm dealing with some more things, but that's not that old stuff though.
00:30:34.799 --> 00:30:37.839
We're talking about that old trauma stuff people still carrying on.
00:30:38.079 --> 00:30:39.920
You know, it's time, it's time out.
00:30:40.079 --> 00:30:42.880
I'm just, you know, I'm just being real, it's time out there.
00:30:43.119 --> 00:30:49.200
But it is a spiritual state of uh humility and total surrender to God once again.
00:30:50.160 --> 00:30:53.680
And um, I had uh listened to a couple of sermons.
00:30:53.839 --> 00:31:01.920
Um, I do my studies a little different, but uh this time I kind of listened to a couple of sermons on um brokenness.
00:31:02.480 --> 00:31:17.680
And uh each person um seemed like they ended up with the same thing uh or whatever, but me, I wanted to read Isaiah 50 57 and uh 15, and that's in the NIV.
00:31:17.839 --> 00:31:29.839
It says, For this is what the high and exalted one says, talking about God the Father, he who lives forever, whose name is holy.
00:31:30.160 --> 00:31:43.759
God says this, I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite or crushed once again and lowly in spirit.
00:31:44.319 --> 00:31:54.000
Know that God is there, he's there to revive us, our spirits, he's he's there to help us to be lifted back up, he's there to heal our hearts.
00:31:54.160 --> 00:31:57.359
And so that's why I say this is two parts to this to me.
00:31:58.160 --> 00:32:04.720
Don't ever forget the natural part because we're in the natural, we're gonna be in this flesh until Jesus take us home.
00:32:05.200 --> 00:32:09.519
But the spiritual part is what God is concerned about, you know.
00:32:09.680 --> 00:32:15.200
Um I'm sorry, Isaiah 57 and 15.
00:32:15.279 --> 00:32:17.200
And I read from the NIV.
00:32:18.720 --> 00:32:24.640
But God said, but also, so don't forget that part, everybody.
00:32:24.799 --> 00:32:28.240
Uh, and that's what I was kind of missing in the sermons.
00:32:28.400 --> 00:32:45.200
Um, I picked up a lot of things and stuff like that, but when this scripture hit my soul, I said, Lord, I believe I am on the right track with this, you know, because we do, we go through so many emotions in this world because we we're flesh.
00:32:45.680 --> 00:32:48.480
But God wants that spirit man to be strong.
00:32:48.720 --> 00:32:52.559
He wants to revive that, that spirit that's been broken in us.
00:32:52.799 --> 00:32:58.480
You know, just like when the people said, uh told me that I wasn't saved because I had on pants.
00:32:58.880 --> 00:33:00.640
That broke my spirit.
00:33:00.960 --> 00:33:03.680
I had to question my own salvation.
00:33:04.000 --> 00:33:07.839
And I said, wait a minute, I'm not saved because you know what I mean.
00:33:08.079 --> 00:33:09.599
And my spirit is broken now.
00:33:09.759 --> 00:33:11.200
I'm broken in spirit.
00:33:11.759 --> 00:33:13.039
Why would they say that?
00:33:13.359 --> 00:33:20.319
You know, when I opened my mouth, like the Bible said, I confess with my mouth, I believed in my heart that God raised these from the dead.
00:33:20.480 --> 00:33:22.720
And the Bible said I'll be I should be saved.
00:33:22.880 --> 00:33:24.640
So I don't understand.
00:33:24.880 --> 00:33:26.240
You know, I was crushed.
00:33:26.480 --> 00:33:28.480
So I stayed away for a long time.
00:33:29.119 --> 00:33:32.000
I really did, because I thought, you know, I wasn't saved.
00:33:32.559 --> 00:33:34.000
Because I was gonna wear my pants.
00:33:34.559 --> 00:33:35.039
Go ahead.
00:33:35.680 --> 00:33:39.680
Um just to give another perspective.
00:33:39.839 --> 00:33:43.519
I know you said that you didn't re you didn't know if that was pride.
00:33:43.839 --> 00:33:52.079
Sometimes people, I can vouch for myself, some people keep all of that stuff, I call it spiritual squat tissue.
00:33:52.319 --> 00:34:01.599
Keep all that stuff inside, the brokenness, the resentment, because all that comes together, they keep it inside because they don't want to deal with it.
00:34:02.000 --> 00:34:08.639
But eventually it'll come out if you pray and ask God to help you get through it.
00:34:08.800 --> 00:34:11.519
Just like my God, son, he just had a breakthrough.
00:34:11.679 --> 00:34:12.559
Thank you, Jesus.
00:34:13.599 --> 00:34:16.880
Unknowingly, that that was still in you.
00:34:17.119 --> 00:34:27.199
But praise God, with you admitting it, confessing it, that goes to show that God is answering prayer, whether you know it or not.
00:34:28.000 --> 00:34:30.159
Because he left you let that out.
00:34:30.320 --> 00:34:42.079
You was holding that in unknowingly, and that's what my prayer is for people that are dealing with brokenness, unnecessary brokenness.
00:34:42.320 --> 00:34:47.679
Because sometimes you sometimes you ain't gotta be, excuse me, you ain't gotta be broken.
00:34:48.000 --> 00:34:50.400
You just be an extra.
00:34:50.639 --> 00:35:08.079
But for the those that have gone through uh the hurt, excuse me, and the pains that life gives you, pray and ask God to reveal it to you and to want, and if you reveal it's revealed, ask God to help you deal with it.
00:35:08.320 --> 00:35:18.239
If not, talk, call the somebody that's godly, that loves you, and you can talk to them about it, you know, knowing that they ain't gonna share it with nobody else.
00:35:18.800 --> 00:35:19.199
That's right.
00:35:19.360 --> 00:35:25.360
That's the key because a lot of us uh are dealing with hidden issues.
00:35:25.679 --> 00:35:36.719
They're not willing to let it come out because of the it's gonna hurt too bad, because there are some hurts that God has revealed to me in the last month.
00:35:36.880 --> 00:35:41.840
I'm like, God, that's why Pat is doing brokenness.
00:35:42.000 --> 00:35:43.280
You see what I'm saying?
00:35:43.679 --> 00:35:52.480
Because we, as we grow in Christ, we have to empty all that stuff out so we can be, that's how we become new creatures.
00:35:52.639 --> 00:35:52.960
That's right.
00:35:53.119 --> 00:35:57.920
You can't be new with old stuff bottled in you, is what I'm getting at.
00:35:58.159 --> 00:35:58.719
You just came.
00:35:58.880 --> 00:35:59.440
And amen.
00:36:00.960 --> 00:36:01.760
Yes, sir.
00:36:02.400 --> 00:36:10.000
You don't realize how deep that was, because the same thing that my brother said, when I studied this, that perspective never came up.
00:36:10.079 --> 00:36:11.760
That's how you know the Holy Spirit is perfect.
00:36:12.480 --> 00:36:14.000
And today happened that it did.
00:36:14.400 --> 00:36:20.320
The one thing that you said that is very important, that I realize brokenness does start when you are young.
00:36:20.559 --> 00:36:21.360
And you know why?
00:36:21.599 --> 00:36:26.239
Because you don't have the knowledge, the wisdom of the things to come later.
00:36:26.880 --> 00:36:35.360
And that's what creates our testimony and and give us the opportunity to witness through the different things that we've been through in life.
00:36:35.599 --> 00:36:44.960
But I didn't never think of that perspective of how starting like from a child, the different things you're gonna face, because God already predestined our life, right?
00:36:45.039 --> 00:36:50.400
Yes, and through that is when those different times and trials come in.
00:36:50.639 --> 00:36:54.480
Because again, I never thought we'd be going back to then.
00:36:55.039 --> 00:36:59.039
But when you did it, it gave me a whole different view on broken, right?
00:36:59.280 --> 00:36:59.440
Right.
00:36:59.840 --> 00:37:07.199
Because the key part of this is which I know we're gonna get to it, brokenness is always around some type of trauma.
00:37:07.440 --> 00:37:08.079
Yes, somewhere.
00:37:08.400 --> 00:37:10.000
In some which way, form, or fashion.
00:37:10.079 --> 00:37:17.599
Like even what Keisha said, it could be verbal, it can be uh mental, physical, abusive, and things like that.
00:37:17.679 --> 00:37:23.280
It's a very broad trauma, it's a very broad thing, and everybody handles it in different ways.
00:37:23.440 --> 00:37:31.760
Yeah I never would have thought that I had anger issues that long, stemming from when I was nine to eleven years old.
00:37:32.159 --> 00:37:33.519
Who would think like that?
00:37:33.760 --> 00:37:38.639
But that's the beginning, the foundation of where a lot of the different brokenness starters when we're a child.
00:37:38.719 --> 00:37:40.320
Because again, we don't know no better.
00:37:40.480 --> 00:37:45.280
Growing up being tall and bigger than everybody like, dang, you big, you got bubbl the chili face.
00:37:45.599 --> 00:37:47.599
And all these different things I had acne.
00:37:48.000 --> 00:37:49.440
Well, somebody said when we were kidding.
00:37:49.679 --> 00:37:50.719
That's how I got tough skin like that.
00:37:50.800 --> 00:37:51.599
Yeah, we should don't like.
00:37:51.840 --> 00:37:59.599
But anyway, but growing up, going through them, going through those times, it I honestly, and I can only I know I speak for myself.
00:37:59.840 --> 00:38:13.039
For one, it gave me tougher skin and uh a stronger faith in God to know that no matter what people's opinions are, how they feel about you, the experience you went through was made for you and for that purpose only.
00:38:13.360 --> 00:38:16.079
Because the whole purpose is to save souls.
00:38:16.239 --> 00:38:27.360
And the one thing that I, when we did that test at uh Precious World Long talking about our strengths and whatever, like that, the get the pretty much the strengths that we have within us that can help bring souls to Christ.
00:38:27.679 --> 00:38:28.880
Mine was witnessing.
00:38:29.440 --> 00:38:37.840
And after that, story after story from different people, younger people, when I was young and not thinking nothing like this, was coming like, man, you don't know.
00:38:38.000 --> 00:38:40.639
Seeing you do that, or you telling me that, help me.
00:38:40.719 --> 00:38:41.039
Yeah.
00:38:41.360 --> 00:38:42.639
Never would have thought that.
00:38:43.119 --> 00:38:45.360
But I'm let me sorry, I went too far.
00:38:45.440 --> 00:38:52.239
But the main thing with me was that not realizing that the brokenness starts from when we're young.
00:38:52.400 --> 00:38:53.119
Yeah, that's good.
00:38:53.599 --> 00:38:55.360
That's the that's that hit way different.
00:38:55.599 --> 00:38:56.639
Cause I never thought it was like that.
00:38:58.960 --> 00:39:22.880
Something uh uh I feel the need to uh pray for those people who've been through like uh sexual abuse because uh it's easier to get over uh things being said about you than it is to get over things being done to you.
00:39:23.119 --> 00:39:33.519
So uh I take a few seconds to just I just want to uh pray for those people who dealt with uh sexual abuse.
00:39:33.840 --> 00:39:47.360
Uh Lord, we come to you, just ask you to reach in those homes and reach down and pull it out by the root for those things that they're willing to talk about and the ones who are not willing to talk about it, Lord.
00:39:47.440 --> 00:39:47.840
Yes, Lord.
00:39:48.159 --> 00:39:50.639
We pray for them right now, we pray for those families.
00:39:50.719 --> 00:39:51.199
Yes, Lord.
00:39:51.360 --> 00:39:52.880
We pray for those victims, Father.
00:39:53.039 --> 00:39:53.519
Yes, Lord.
00:39:53.920 --> 00:40:01.599
And we pray that you visit them right now and make them a supernatural intercession prayer for them, Father.
00:40:01.920 --> 00:40:12.079
We just fill in the gap for them right now, Father, and we send this prayer out over the airways for anyone who's dealing with that type of trauma, Father, of the sexual abuse, Father.
00:40:12.320 --> 00:40:12.960
Yes, Lord.
00:40:13.119 --> 00:40:17.280
We we we love them, Father, and we want them to know that you love them, Father.
00:40:18.000 --> 00:40:19.599
They can't do nothing wrong, Father.
00:40:19.679 --> 00:40:20.880
It wasn't their fault, Father.
00:40:20.960 --> 00:40:21.360
Yes, father.
00:40:21.599 --> 00:40:31.920
All of the ones who need to forgive themselves, Father, give them the strength, give them the courage, give them the wisdom to forgive themselves and walking upright in front of you, Father.
00:40:32.079 --> 00:40:35.440
Yes, all these things we ask in your son, Jesus' name.
00:40:35.599 --> 00:40:35.920
Amen.
00:40:37.599 --> 00:40:38.400
So it is.
00:40:40.000 --> 00:40:42.960
Um, sometimes people like, this is good.
00:40:43.199 --> 00:40:53.679
Sometimes people like staying in their brokenness because it's their comfort zone and they don't know how to get know how to get out to.
00:40:54.320 --> 00:40:55.920
They don't know how to get out.
00:40:56.159 --> 00:40:56.719
That's true.
00:40:57.119 --> 00:41:01.119
But that at that point it becomes a stronghold in your life.
00:41:01.199 --> 00:41:02.880
So that's why it's hard.
00:41:03.199 --> 00:41:10.480
You know, it's just like a flag getting stuck in a spider's nest or something, you know, it's just hard to get out.
00:41:10.639 --> 00:41:15.360
But I want to go refer back to uh Isaiah 47 and 15.
00:41:15.679 --> 00:41:35.599
Um it it reveals that um even though a person uh even though uh a person is experiencing um brokenness, once again, uh it shows that it's not a permanent ruin, but a uh birthplace for divine transformation.
00:41:36.159 --> 00:41:39.519
Once again, by surrendering to the Heavenly Father.
00:41:40.320 --> 00:41:45.039
And we have to know that God is attentive to our soft heart when we give up.
00:41:45.119 --> 00:41:50.639
And a lot of times we we we feel this follow ground within our hearts, you know.
00:41:50.800 --> 00:41:57.119
Like I was talking about myself, you know, trying to be tough and you know, all this stuff, and I'm toe up inside or what have you.
00:41:57.360 --> 00:42:01.440
But God knows how to come in and break that stuff up, but we have to yield to him.
00:42:02.159 --> 00:42:08.559
And uh going back to that pride thing, June, uh, when I was coming up and I had that stuff in me, that's what I was saying.
00:42:08.639 --> 00:42:09.599
I didn't have Christ.
00:42:10.000 --> 00:42:26.400
I didn't realize that back then it was pride until I got talking with the Lord to life, and God was showing me that that that was pride because I should have reached out to somebody, but it took me to other places, like suicide and stuff, you know, and all that crazy stuff.
00:42:26.559 --> 00:42:34.800
So yeah, and a lot of times we do, we guess our own self-try.
00:42:36.159 --> 00:42:42.559
But uh once we surrender to God, He's there, but you know, brokenness is sometimes viewed as a weakness too.
00:42:43.280 --> 00:42:58.800
Because people, you know, you know, they'll say some type of prestige or something, you know.
00:42:59.280 --> 00:43:02.800
But uh yeah, and people say that that is weakness.
00:43:03.199 --> 00:43:03.599
Why?
00:43:03.840 --> 00:43:09.360
Because uh it pushes your pride, you know what I'm saying, out of the way.
00:43:09.679 --> 00:43:16.639
And your self-reliance instead of trusting and putting all your trust in God, you know, that's what it does.
00:43:16.960 --> 00:43:22.239
And uh and some people say that it prolongs the hurt or the pain.
00:43:26.320 --> 00:43:26.960
Sorry guys.
00:43:33.280 --> 00:43:33.840
Thank you.
00:43:34.239 --> 00:43:38.480
But yeah, but that's um I want to talk about the brokenness that David.
00:43:38.960 --> 00:43:46.880
This is a prime example of David in the book of Psalms, um division uh 51 is the whole thing.
00:43:47.119 --> 00:43:47.920
You wanna share it?
00:43:48.159 --> 00:43:49.840
No, I'm gonna say you all the Bible.
00:43:50.320 --> 00:43:59.519
Yeah, but it shows the deep brokenness and humbleness of repentance uh through the King David uh after he after his sins.
00:44:00.239 --> 00:44:10.639
Uh involving by Sheba and Uriah, but most of all, his deep conviction by displeasing God.
00:44:11.360 --> 00:44:16.800
And see, this is the spiritual side of what I was talking about, about your spirit being broken.
00:44:17.119 --> 00:44:20.000
David didn't, David, he knew what he was doing.
00:44:20.159 --> 00:44:21.440
He knew what he did.
00:44:21.840 --> 00:44:23.039
And he was dealing with that.
00:44:23.199 --> 00:44:27.119
I believe it was just tearing him up inside, you know, that brokenness that was there.
00:44:27.360 --> 00:44:30.239
Because, you know, he displeased God most of all.
00:44:31.039 --> 00:44:35.840
And uh, you know, he committed murder of well, first of all, adultery and then murder.
00:44:36.159 --> 00:44:41.920
He walked around for a minute until God said, Nathan, go and tell David about himself.
00:44:42.079 --> 00:44:42.559
Right.
00:44:42.800 --> 00:44:49.199
You know, and and and then I love about David because the Bible says that he always repents quickly.
00:44:49.519 --> 00:44:56.000
So a lot of times, uh when your life is shown that way, you know, uh God sends somebody around.
00:44:56.639 --> 00:45:01.199
Say, look here, Pat, you act a little strange and you know, this and that and other.
00:45:01.679 --> 00:45:06.960
So it's up to that person to obey what God has placed before them.
00:45:07.119 --> 00:45:14.960
So soon after that uh Nathan uh confronts David, he owns up to his actions by calling them by name.
00:45:16.079 --> 00:45:20.159
Transgression, iniquity, and sin.
00:45:22.000 --> 00:45:23.920
Then he pleased for forgiveness.
00:45:25.599 --> 00:45:28.000
See, and that's uh your opening right there.
00:45:28.320 --> 00:45:30.800
That's your opening to get rid of the brokenness.
00:45:30.960 --> 00:45:39.679
And David, David knew, David knew that I'm broke, I'm tore up, like they say, from the floor, and I need you, Lord.
00:45:40.079 --> 00:45:50.800
And that's when God does the work, he started doing the work, and the outcome was that he drew closer to God instead of pushing away, pushing away from the Father.
00:45:51.039 --> 00:45:53.039
He knew where his help would come from.
00:45:53.360 --> 00:45:57.199
And so this is why I'm saying, you know, uh, it's okay.
00:45:57.280 --> 00:46:01.039
And and June, I like how she said it, uh, confide in somebody, you know.
00:46:01.599 --> 00:46:10.719
You know you're going through this, you know it's keeping you back, it's keeping you from blessings, it's keeping you uh for being a really a true light, you know, for God.
00:46:10.800 --> 00:46:14.000
And I'm talking about people are believers of Christ right now.
00:46:14.400 --> 00:46:16.639
You know, it's keeping your your light is dim.
00:46:17.360 --> 00:46:18.800
You know, you're not drawing.
00:46:19.440 --> 00:46:20.480
It's time to give it up.
00:46:22.000 --> 00:46:22.800
It's time to get it up.
00:46:23.119 --> 00:46:24.960
Anybody else got anything else on that?
00:46:25.920 --> 00:46:34.079
Um on the bright side, uh brokenness is not a curse for believers.
00:46:34.320 --> 00:46:40.480
It's not, it's an invitation for you to ask God to help whatever you're broken with.
00:46:40.639 --> 00:46:41.360
Yes, right.
00:46:41.679 --> 00:46:53.760
It's one of the first places God begins his deepest work, and most new believers don't realize how holy and purposeful uh brokenness can be.
00:46:55.039 --> 00:47:07.840
Most believers think brokenness is something to get away from, but spiritually, brokenness is something to embrace because God does his best work in when we surrender.
00:47:07.920 --> 00:47:08.639
You said that.
00:47:09.760 --> 00:47:11.920
Yeah, and it's a doorway.
00:47:12.079 --> 00:47:16.000
I with my research, I found that brokenness is a doorway.
00:47:16.239 --> 00:47:21.119
God often begins transformation at the exact place where we feel weak.
00:47:21.199 --> 00:47:22.079
Thank you, Jesus.
00:47:22.559 --> 00:47:22.960
That's right.
00:47:23.199 --> 00:47:24.960
Ashamed or overwhelmed.
00:47:25.760 --> 00:47:31.599
Uh brokenness opens your heart to his healing, yeah.
00:47:32.480 --> 00:47:38.159
It reveals the truth, it exposes lies we believed about ourselves.
00:47:38.320 --> 00:47:39.119
That's right.
00:47:39.920 --> 00:47:47.360
I knew that I it took for me to be grown and lose weight to know I could get me a fine man.
00:47:47.440 --> 00:47:48.559
I'm not trying to not.
00:47:54.239 --> 00:47:55.039
Sorry.
00:47:55.599 --> 00:48:04.239
But I didn't, I'm saying that in a positive note, even though it sounds negative, because I didn't think I was pretty because of my skin.
00:48:04.400 --> 00:48:06.000
That's what I'm getting at.
00:48:07.119 --> 00:48:12.559
It reveals the truth, it exposes lies that what you believe about yourself.
00:48:12.800 --> 00:48:15.119
I'm making light of it because it's so heavy.
00:48:15.199 --> 00:48:21.360
I'm trying, I would, I want us to make it light so you people would know if we can.
00:48:21.760 --> 00:48:32.320
Because this is a heavy topic, but we have to shed light on it because God is the answer to the end all, be all, to your brokenness, right?
00:48:32.960 --> 00:48:35.519
And you can be cured and healed from it.
00:48:35.599 --> 00:48:35.920
That's right.
00:48:36.159 --> 00:48:36.719
Yes, you can.
00:48:36.880 --> 00:48:37.440
Yes, right.
00:48:37.599 --> 00:48:40.880
And there is purpose, like you were saying that.
00:48:41.039 --> 00:48:52.079
Yeah, there is purpose in our brokenness, and uh one of them is that uh we could possibly bring somebody to Christ through our testimony, like you testified on.
00:48:52.320 --> 00:48:53.119
You know what I'm saying?
00:48:53.360 --> 00:49:01.199
God uses events, even painful ones, uh, to shape us too, you know, believers.
00:49:01.679 --> 00:49:06.000
And then also it is used to bring glory to his name.
00:49:06.079 --> 00:49:16.000
And I should have put that number one, and that's what is that is what it's for because he we realize at that point of brokenness we can't fix it, we can't do it ourselves.
00:49:16.159 --> 00:49:24.639
Yeah, it takes a mighty God, a all-loving, sovereign God to come in and rebuild and do, you know.
00:49:25.119 --> 00:49:30.639
Uh, and it also uh it has benefits if we don't hide it.
00:49:32.159 --> 00:49:32.480
It does.
00:49:32.800 --> 00:49:41.760
Yeah, if we don't hide it, God come in and reshape us, and then uh we live a little bit, a little bit, I'm just saying, quote unquote, a little bit better for him.
00:49:42.639 --> 00:49:45.280
Because we we're we're free from stuff now, you know.
00:49:46.320 --> 00:49:52.800
So it's just this brokenness is just it's broad, it goes a long way, it's so much in it.
00:49:54.079 --> 00:49:56.880
Oh boy, I have a question for Akeisha.
00:49:57.119 --> 00:49:58.559
Okay, this is a really good question.
00:49:58.639 --> 00:49:59.920
I'm glad you asked.
00:50:00.079 --> 00:50:13.280
Uh, based off of a conversation you're having with someone, what would you say to someone who doesn't know they're broken or has put certain trauma in their subconscious?
00:50:13.599 --> 00:50:20.159
What would we say to somebody that is that doesn't know they're broken, but you can see it.
00:50:20.239 --> 00:50:23.119
Your discernment is showing they're broken.
00:50:23.440 --> 00:50:25.679
I'm adding to her question.
00:50:26.480 --> 00:50:28.480
You adding to the discernment part?
00:50:28.719 --> 00:50:31.119
Yeah, I she didn't say discernment, but no, I'm you can't.
00:50:31.679 --> 00:50:39.760
Yeah, yes, okay, that's because if if you know that somebody is suffering, that this has to be uh discernment that you're feeling.
00:50:40.239 --> 00:50:41.599
Yeah, you see what I'm saying?
00:50:41.679 --> 00:50:42.719
But I'm gonna ask it again.
00:50:42.880 --> 00:50:57.760
Based off of a conversation you're having with someone, what would you say uh to someone who doesn't know they're broken or or doesn't realize they're broken or has put certain trauma in their subconscious?
00:50:58.559 --> 00:50:59.679
That's kind of complex.
00:51:00.079 --> 00:51:07.280
Yeah, when it comes to discernment, you gotta know that's the spirit of the Lord talking because we don't want to be in a judgmental place.
00:51:07.840 --> 00:51:14.079
We don't want to assume anything, but we want to be right because we can break that person even more.
00:51:14.159 --> 00:51:16.559
Yeah, if we open our mouth uh too soon.
00:51:16.639 --> 00:51:21.199
So that is kind of it's kind of uh tedious.
00:51:21.280 --> 00:51:30.719
So I I would think just like we started this podcast, you shared your testimony and it went bam, bam, bam.
00:51:30.800 --> 00:51:34.880
It allow us to feel comfortable in a space to share ours.
00:51:35.039 --> 00:51:50.400
That's good, and it it brought that back because as me and Twan were saying, we had the topic brokenness, but until you started that way, we didn't even look at that certain side of where we were broken.
00:51:50.559 --> 00:52:05.760
Yes, so because of the relationship you have and with the that you and the bond you have with the person you're talking to, if you start with your testimony about broken and what God has done, it makes them, it puts them in a comfortable state to share theirs.
00:52:06.000 --> 00:52:07.679
And I think that's a good place to start.
00:52:07.920 --> 00:52:08.559
That's good.
00:52:09.119 --> 00:52:25.280
And me personally, I would say, especially if you know this person, the first thing I would do is pray and ask God to unguide my tongue and give me the wisdom, the um, possibly the um maybe the biblical structure to give them to help them with that too.
00:52:25.440 --> 00:52:30.079
To make sure that you're when you do come to them, you come in in the Christ-like matter of nature.
00:52:30.320 --> 00:52:36.880
So it doesn't come across like you're judging or like it doesn't come across like like you're trying to tell them something.
00:52:36.960 --> 00:52:39.519
Because you know, people be so offensive these days.
00:52:39.840 --> 00:52:44.400
So it's like if if you know this person, you know kind of the best way to go about it.
00:52:44.480 --> 00:52:46.320
But the first thing I would do is pray.
00:52:46.639 --> 00:52:53.039
Pray for that person first, then pray on how you should come to them because everybody is kind of different when it comes to that.
00:52:53.599 --> 00:52:57.039
So if you do know them, the main thing is come to them in a Christ-like nature.
00:52:57.119 --> 00:52:59.840
That's the best thing I can say from our that I would do.
00:53:06.559 --> 00:53:08.559
Uh open conversation.
00:53:08.719 --> 00:53:15.840
Uh I can say I'll use the women's conference as an example.
00:53:16.400 --> 00:53:22.000
Uh I always, we always, or Crystal, you can attest to this too.
00:53:22.159 --> 00:53:24.159
We are very transparent.
00:53:24.559 --> 00:53:35.840
And along with transparency brings, especially when that person knows that you're coming from a good place, uh, somebody, I don't care if they saved or not, they can tell if you being judgy.
00:53:37.280 --> 00:53:38.639
You know, they can tell.
00:53:38.800 --> 00:53:49.119
But if you or or like Antoine and Rich said, if you pray, open up the dialect and then pray first, pray first, then open up the dialect.
00:53:49.199 --> 00:53:55.280
And some most of the time, they can say, they might even say, I know what you're talking about.
00:53:55.440 --> 00:54:03.679
I know I I heard that, that I heard that can soften them enough to even pray.
00:54:03.840 --> 00:54:08.400
You might not know that you cracked that brokenness.
00:54:08.559 --> 00:54:14.000
You you open that door for them to actually go to God and ask to heal.
00:54:14.079 --> 00:54:16.639
Because you ain't gotta see, you know, you know what I mean?
00:54:16.719 --> 00:54:28.960
You ain't gotta see that you helped somebody, you know, and but that's what I would do because I've been uh in at put in places at church.
00:54:29.519 --> 00:54:32.480
I it was so heavy it hit me.
00:54:32.719 --> 00:54:35.519
I knew that this young lady was hurting.
00:54:36.320 --> 00:54:40.719
And I told her, just give it to God, and she just boom.
00:54:41.679 --> 00:54:45.519
I told her, I don't have to know what you are going through.
00:54:45.679 --> 00:54:47.519
Yeah, you don't that's the key.
00:54:47.599 --> 00:54:50.320
You don't have to, it ain't your business what they're going through.
00:54:50.480 --> 00:54:50.800
That's right.
00:54:51.119 --> 00:54:54.639
But you don't have to to know what somebody is going through.
00:54:54.719 --> 00:55:02.800
But if that discernment is really heavy on you, tell them, you know, I don't know what it is, but I'm praying for you.
00:55:02.960 --> 00:55:05.599
And don't be ashamed to pray with nobody.
00:55:06.320 --> 00:55:09.280
That's one problem that a lot of believers have.
00:55:09.440 --> 00:55:12.400
I'm not gonna say uh seasoned or new.
00:55:12.639 --> 00:55:22.559
A lot of believers are too scared to come out of that comfort zone, like Crystal said, coming out of that comfort zone and praying with people.
00:55:23.119 --> 00:55:26.239
You don't know it could make a world of difference.
00:55:26.639 --> 00:55:29.280
And they'll come back and say thank you.
00:55:29.920 --> 00:55:30.239
Amen.
00:55:34.159 --> 00:55:34.480
Thank you.
00:55:34.639 --> 00:55:35.519
Um, who was that?
00:55:35.599 --> 00:55:37.039
Um that was Keith.
00:55:38.000 --> 00:55:38.159
Thank you.
00:55:39.760 --> 00:55:43.679
Crystal said, yes, being transparent is very good to help others.
00:55:43.840 --> 00:55:49.199
You can also start by asking questions to get them to think about things as well.
00:55:49.360 --> 00:55:49.920
That's good.
00:55:50.480 --> 00:55:54.559
Yeah, as around it instead of directly what it may be that you may see.
00:55:57.039 --> 00:55:58.400
Yeah, yeah, amen.
00:55:58.800 --> 00:55:59.360
Amen.
00:55:59.599 --> 00:56:11.679
And I think the best way to uh for for us believers is to ask God to search our hearts and he'll show you if you're uh walking in a brokenness stage or not.
00:56:11.840 --> 00:56:12.639
You know what I'm saying?
00:56:12.719 --> 00:56:18.000
He he will show you that, and so you'll know what to pray for for yourself, even so.
00:56:18.559 --> 00:56:28.719
And so I want to ask the question how does brokenness affect people that you love or or care for?
00:56:30.239 --> 00:56:31.599
How would how do you think?
00:56:31.760 --> 00:56:53.760
You know, it this is not like you can answer the question if y'all want to, but it's not how but I just you know, because I thought about it myself, how how did it affect people that I love that was around me when I was going through that, you know, not letting go, you know, and I knew it affect affect them in a in a negative way.
00:56:54.320 --> 00:56:55.199
You know, that's true.
00:56:56.480 --> 00:56:57.599
What's the question again?
00:56:58.000 --> 00:57:05.519
I said, how does brokenness affect people that you love or even that you know you're close to or care for?
00:57:06.000 --> 00:57:08.079
The brokenness you can carry on.
00:57:08.239 --> 00:57:08.639
Your brokenness.
00:57:10.320 --> 00:57:13.199
How does your brokenness impact the ones your loved ones and ones that are?
00:57:14.320 --> 00:57:17.440
Shoot, it can make them leave you alone, first of all.
00:57:17.599 --> 00:57:25.679
See, because if you are dealing with brokenness uh to the 10th power, you don't want to be bothered with yourself half the time.
00:57:25.840 --> 00:57:26.159
Yeah.
00:57:26.320 --> 00:57:30.000
But uh you and ooh, yeah.
00:57:30.559 --> 00:57:42.079
I when I was during the time that my mother that I was going through that transition 14 years of losing my mother, I was so broken.
00:57:42.239 --> 00:57:44.960
That's why I didn't bring up mama because I talk about her all the time.
00:57:45.199 --> 00:57:50.480
But during that time, uh I'd that's another testimony.
00:57:50.559 --> 00:57:56.960
I was out there, and I had somebody, a guy came to me, and he really truly liked me.
00:57:57.199 --> 00:58:00.480
Uh, but he told me my heart pumped ice water.
00:58:02.480 --> 00:58:08.079
And I'm like, dang, I didn't realize that I was but I was broken.
00:58:08.239 --> 00:58:08.559
Yeah.
00:58:09.280 --> 00:58:16.239
So to answer your question, it makes you mean, it makes you angry.
00:58:16.400 --> 00:58:25.440
Yeah, I was angry, it makes you want to hurt people, hurt people emotionally or physically.
00:58:25.840 --> 00:58:27.119
Yep, I was just thinking that too.
00:58:27.440 --> 00:58:35.280
You know, and it's it's really dangerous for those of us who are walking in Christ because it ruins our testimony.
00:58:35.440 --> 00:58:36.159
It really does.
00:58:36.719 --> 00:58:37.440
That's my guess.
00:58:40.000 --> 00:58:40.480
That's too good.
00:58:40.880 --> 00:58:44.480
Piggyback uh off what Godmom was saying.
00:58:44.719 --> 00:58:51.280
Oh, the other side of that is your loved ones love on you harder.
00:58:51.440 --> 00:58:51.760
Yes.
00:58:52.000 --> 00:58:56.320
Because when I was going through that, I could tell my godmother was really loving on me.
00:58:56.400 --> 00:58:56.719
Oh, yeah.
00:58:57.039 --> 00:59:06.480
Never asked me about it, you know, but but just kept pouring love uh and and having the rule you gotta go to church.
00:59:07.039 --> 00:59:12.880
You know, having uh the daily bread in the kitchen.
00:59:13.360 --> 00:59:21.440
You know, just just just just a lot of certain things that I know was passed down from her mom, you know, that I got the benefit from.
00:59:21.599 --> 00:59:22.079
Yes, amen.
00:59:22.400 --> 00:59:34.559
You know, so uh how you remember and many you say the impact of it was so significant.
00:59:34.800 --> 00:59:35.039
Amen.
00:59:35.519 --> 00:59:37.039
That is it's burned in.
00:59:37.199 --> 00:59:37.760
Thank you, James.
00:59:38.000 --> 00:59:45.280
You know, and I could tell it was passed down from her mom to her, from her to you, yeah.
00:59:45.679 --> 00:59:47.920
Because y'all deal with me the same, man.
00:59:48.159 --> 00:59:57.039
But it the the flip side of it, uh your brokenness don't always have to peek out the wrong way.
00:59:57.519 --> 01:00:06.159
Uh especially like what I'm mentioning of those people who really genuinely care about you, loving on you, yes, through it, you know.
01:00:06.320 --> 01:00:09.599
Uh it it it's hope there.
01:00:10.480 --> 01:00:17.679
Yes, you know, uh and where there's hope, you know, there's there's true relationships with Christ himself.
01:00:18.559 --> 01:00:32.639
You know, um, and and and for me and going through my brokenness, it allowed me to have something to cling on to that uh the whole world wasn't against me.
01:00:32.960 --> 01:00:36.159
You know, like a lot of people say, me against the world, you know.
01:00:36.239 --> 01:00:52.239
Well, in my brokenness, I didn't take that edge, you know, because it could have pushed me like for real in them streets, uh, and to be second generation things going on, if you know what I'm saying.
01:00:53.199 --> 01:01:00.559
Um but yeah, you know, I I watched my loved ones love on me, yeah, you know, through the brokenness.
01:01:00.719 --> 01:01:04.000
So man, it it pretty much saved my life.
01:01:04.159 --> 01:01:04.559
Yeah.
01:01:04.800 --> 01:01:12.239
You know, to to be truthful and transparent, you know, I don't want to get all tearied up again or get y'all tearied up again.
01:01:13.760 --> 01:01:16.960
Y'all, y'all might have y'all might have saved my life, you know.
01:01:17.039 --> 01:01:19.119
Um thank you, Jesus.
01:01:19.840 --> 01:01:21.840
That's why I say mom broken.
01:01:22.239 --> 01:01:23.760
That ain't enough flowers.
01:01:24.000 --> 01:01:28.880
Yeah, if I could pull a truck up here with flowers in it, it wouldn't be enough.
01:01:29.280 --> 01:01:34.480
Uh yeah, but y'all love me through it, man.
01:01:34.639 --> 01:01:35.199
That's all right.
01:01:37.440 --> 01:01:39.119
It was weak of you.
01:01:39.360 --> 01:01:40.320
That's the key.
01:01:40.719 --> 01:01:42.639
It wasn't like it was forced.
01:01:42.880 --> 01:01:44.960
You were such a good baby.
01:01:45.119 --> 01:01:47.039
I'm telling you, he was so good.
01:01:47.519 --> 01:01:51.119
I wish I could trade Rich in for Antoine a lot.
01:01:59.599 --> 01:02:02.960
Antoine was, but Rich was my baby.
01:02:03.039 --> 01:02:04.960
He still had grown as a kid.
01:02:05.199 --> 01:02:07.119
He had a mentality of 72 and he was.
01:02:07.519 --> 01:02:16.480
You would rather hang out with mom than he was a senior, he was grown as a kid grown as a kid.
01:02:22.079 --> 01:02:22.400
Wow.
01:02:22.960 --> 01:02:28.800
Crystal said you take out your hurt on them and make it hard to have a relationship with them.
01:02:29.039 --> 01:02:36.000
Uh, that's what I and I told her that's what I was trying to say, you know, because you make it hard for people to what?
01:02:36.719 --> 01:02:38.480
You make it hard for people to love you.
01:02:38.800 --> 01:02:39.679
Push them away.
01:02:39.840 --> 01:02:40.480
Push them away.
01:02:40.639 --> 01:02:41.360
That's so good.
01:02:41.599 --> 01:02:42.400
Thank you, Jesus.
01:02:43.599 --> 01:02:55.840
I'm gonna add a different definition of the brokenness because like the perspective we gave was from that one, but my definition that I saw was a path to spiritual humility, a deep healing, and closeness to God.
01:02:56.639 --> 01:02:58.079
So that's to encourage you all.
01:02:58.239 --> 01:03:06.159
I know we've we've mentioned a lot of our testimonies and witnessed things to you all, but understand that God is the ultimate healer.
01:03:06.239 --> 01:03:06.559
Yes, he is.
01:03:07.039 --> 01:03:08.480
He's the ultimate comforter.
01:03:08.960 --> 01:03:16.480
Let's know and understand that through all these times, maybe you may be still broken today, but know that God got your back and he's there for you.
01:03:16.880 --> 01:03:21.840
And those different things that you may be going through right now, trust me, it's it's temporary.
01:03:22.079 --> 01:03:26.239
God said it'll never leave us nor forsake us, several times in the Bible.
01:03:26.960 --> 01:03:28.159
And that's a promise.
01:03:28.239 --> 01:03:30.719
Yeah, he ain't said nothing that he don't do.
01:03:31.519 --> 01:03:34.559
And I can tell you, I can give you 10,000 testimonies on that.
01:03:34.719 --> 01:03:40.559
So even through your brokenness, understand that it may be a storm now, but storms don't last forever.
01:03:40.960 --> 01:03:51.280
And God is always gonna be on the other side of that and and looking at you, and as you lean on him through it and give him his glory, yeah, he's gonna be smiling at you.
01:03:51.440 --> 01:03:51.599
Thank you.
01:03:52.079 --> 01:04:01.760
And he's gonna and then you're gonna understand that what we're discussing it today is not about feeling down, it's about understanding that you may be down today, but tomorrow you're gonna be up.
01:04:02.639 --> 01:04:03.199
Thank you, Lord.
01:04:03.679 --> 01:04:05.679
God is man, he's wonderful.
01:04:08.079 --> 01:04:09.920
So understand this one key thing.
01:04:10.000 --> 01:04:20.000
I and I again, we we are very transparent, and I thank God that that's for one, the Holy Spirit is perfect, God is perfect, and we're not ashamed of our past.
01:04:20.159 --> 01:04:22.480
No, because we're not our past.
01:04:22.800 --> 01:04:23.199
That's it.
01:04:23.840 --> 01:04:24.719
That's the key part.
01:04:24.880 --> 01:04:31.119
So, yeah, we bring up those things to give you examples of how we've been through traumatic things in our life too.
01:04:31.199 --> 01:04:32.639
But look at what God has brought us to do.
01:04:32.800 --> 01:04:33.280
That's right, right.
01:04:33.519 --> 01:04:33.760
That's right.
01:04:34.079 --> 01:04:35.119
He brought us out.
01:04:35.360 --> 01:04:38.400
And I want to encourage you because what time, what time do we have?
01:04:38.480 --> 01:04:39.679
Okay, but I want to move on.
01:04:39.920 --> 01:04:47.760
Um encourage everybody out there to uh once again pray and ask God to uh, you know, just show you your heart.
01:04:47.840 --> 01:04:48.000
Yeah.
01:04:48.239 --> 01:04:52.079
Because a lot of times we don't realize that we're walking in in brokenness.
01:04:52.239 --> 01:04:53.280
We really don't.
01:04:53.519 --> 01:05:01.119
Um and then to help you out too, um, there's some books out there that I looked up uh on brokenness.
01:05:01.199 --> 01:05:02.880
And one is by Dr.
01:05:03.119 --> 01:05:04.400
Charles Stanley.
01:05:05.119 --> 01:05:10.719
And uh his book says Finding God's Blessing in Brokenness.
01:05:10.880 --> 01:05:11.119
Yes.
01:05:11.519 --> 01:05:15.679
And that really stood out to me, too, because it is a blessing.
01:05:16.000 --> 01:05:18.880
Uh, because God get the glory once again.
01:05:19.039 --> 01:05:26.800
And then there's another book out there by Hiley uh Goldman, and her book, the title is From Brokenness to Restoration.
01:05:26.960 --> 01:05:32.800
Okay, this is our life, you know, because everybody born into this world is born into sin.
01:05:32.960 --> 01:05:33.360
Thank you, G.
01:05:33.679 --> 01:05:43.519
Uh, in a and we don't have that wholeness uh when we come into this world with God for in a sense of uh being right standing with God.
01:05:43.920 --> 01:05:53.199
And so, yeah, God can if we confess our sins once again and uh you know just believe in our heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.
01:05:53.360 --> 01:05:55.199
Now that we're made whole again.
01:05:55.519 --> 01:05:59.760
But through that, we're gonna we're gonna uh we're gonna experience some suffering.
01:06:00.960 --> 01:06:04.000
And and then that broke, then somebody's gonna broke break us again.
01:06:04.159 --> 01:06:08.880
Somebody gonna crush our spirit, but then we have our our loving God to go back to.
01:06:09.119 --> 01:06:09.360
Yes.
01:06:09.760 --> 01:06:11.199
Because the potter wants to what?
01:06:11.360 --> 01:06:13.440
Put us back together again.
01:06:15.199 --> 01:06:15.519
Uh-oh.
01:06:17.360 --> 01:06:26.480
Just to piggyback off what you're saying, Miss Pat, uh, I want to highlight also after brokenness is a breakthrough.
01:06:26.800 --> 01:06:29.760
Yes, you know, you're gonna have a spiritual breakthrough.
01:06:30.000 --> 01:06:33.280
So um it's not all bad.
01:06:34.000 --> 01:06:49.519
You know, um it takes me to a place just uh like the Bible character Naomi suffered intense grief and emptiness following the loss of her husband and both sons in a foreign land.
01:06:50.000 --> 01:07:01.199
And it just makes me think about when you when you're going through those losses that some people uh take a while to get get over the grieving and mourning period.
01:07:01.599 --> 01:07:09.840
Uh how did Christ feel when he sent this only begotten son to take on the sins of man, climb up on that cross and die.
01:07:10.400 --> 01:07:13.119
You know, and that was his only son, you know.
01:07:13.280 --> 01:07:18.400
So uh after brokenness, a breakthrough is after that.
01:07:18.559 --> 01:07:19.039
Yes, it is.
01:07:19.519 --> 01:07:19.760
Right.
01:07:20.159 --> 01:07:23.199
I want to add one thing that I didn't realize until I studied this.
01:07:23.280 --> 01:07:24.480
That bummed me in my head.
01:07:24.639 --> 01:07:25.840
That's the only last thing I'm gonna say.
01:07:26.320 --> 01:07:27.280
Stubbornness.
01:07:27.920 --> 01:07:30.000
Yeah, that's the only thing I ever heard.
01:07:30.239 --> 01:07:33.360
That's part of what that one, I said, Lord.
01:07:33.599 --> 01:07:36.079
And I get told I'm stubborn all the time.
01:07:36.400 --> 01:07:40.880
Well and then it I said, oh man, can we go again?
01:07:41.039 --> 01:07:43.199
I'm gonna step my big toe already broke.
01:07:43.280 --> 01:07:45.199
Now I'm a pinky toe hurt.
01:07:46.400 --> 01:07:59.679
But that was a big one that when I reached when I did the research, I did not realize that that fell in the alignment of this, of stubbornness and then like sinful habits of some key things that that that were it just man, it hit you.
01:07:59.840 --> 01:08:00.880
Yeah, yeah.
01:08:02.239 --> 01:08:20.560
Can I read this and then this I'm just thankful that you were obedient to the Holy Spirit because I know you was really hesitant at first, but you you told me, Jim, what I want to do broke, and then you changed it to broken nest, which really made so much sense.
01:08:20.800 --> 01:08:30.319
But one of my favorite, excuse me, songs that I play every day almost every day is Take My Life by Micah Stamply.
01:08:30.479 --> 01:08:34.479
And it's brokenness, brokenness is what I long for.
01:08:35.119 --> 01:08:38.800
Brokenness is what I need, it gotta be broken.
01:08:39.279 --> 01:08:42.800
Brokenness, that's what you want from me.
01:08:43.760 --> 01:08:46.239
Take my heart and mold it.
01:08:47.199 --> 01:08:50.880
Take my mind, transform it, that's it.
01:08:51.119 --> 01:08:58.319
Take my will, conform it to yours, to you, to yours, oh Lord.
01:08:58.479 --> 01:09:06.560
And that's my prayer for each and every person that is listening to this podcast, be it today or later.
01:09:07.760 --> 01:09:14.720
Just let God transform you, mold you, conform you to his will.
01:09:15.039 --> 01:09:16.479
And I promise you.
01:09:16.880 --> 01:09:18.239
Thank you, Jesus, thank you.
01:09:20.159 --> 01:09:22.960
Just give succumb to his will.
01:09:24.000 --> 01:09:25.039
Thank you, Jesus.
01:09:30.079 --> 01:09:31.119
It's not over.
01:09:32.239 --> 01:09:32.880
Scriptures.
01:09:33.840 --> 01:09:34.720
Thank you, Lord.
01:09:35.039 --> 01:09:36.159
You're worthy, thank you, Jesus.
01:09:38.720 --> 01:09:40.479
Psalms 147-3.
01:09:41.520 --> 01:09:45.199
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
01:09:45.760 --> 01:09:52.720
Matthew 11 and 28, come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
01:09:53.920 --> 01:09:55.119
I'm gonna add to it.
01:09:55.279 --> 01:09:57.439
2 Corinthians 12 and 9.
01:09:58.000 --> 01:10:04.560
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
01:10:04.800 --> 01:10:04.880
Yes.
01:10:05.279 --> 01:10:14.880
Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
01:10:15.039 --> 01:10:15.359
Yes.
01:10:15.760 --> 01:10:21.439
See, so weakness and brokenness allows God's strength and grace to fully work on us.
01:10:21.600 --> 01:10:24.399
So trust me, it's it's not all doom or gloom, baby.
01:10:24.479 --> 01:10:26.239
This we know the love we got.
01:10:26.720 --> 01:10:32.079
It's gonna be time we go through things, but just understand that through him all is possible and it's only temporary.
01:10:32.319 --> 01:10:32.560
Amen.
01:10:32.880 --> 01:10:36.239
And your selfishness is another, my son or two that needs to be broken.
01:10:36.960 --> 01:10:38.560
Just to stand on the topic of broken.
01:10:53.119 --> 01:10:59.279
Well, dealing with brokenness with within us, Lord, because there's so many different layers to this life we live.
01:10:59.600 --> 01:11:04.399
We ask that through this podcast, that people are encouraged to come to you, Lord.
01:11:04.800 --> 01:11:18.000
Come to you with the different things they may be suffering from, come to you and allow you to take over the life and to guide them in their life and to open their eyes to the things that they may still be dealing with subconsciously that they're still broken.
01:11:18.239 --> 01:11:24.319
I ask that you come and heal them, fix them, and use them healing hands to literally help them.
01:11:24.399 --> 01:11:29.680
So for one, they can be a living testimony of your greatness and that brings more people to you, Lord.
01:11:29.840 --> 01:11:41.920
We ask that if there's anybody that may be struggling with their faith or maybe wavering faith, that you come within them in the Holy Spirit and give them the revelations needed so that they can give you the glory and the praise that you deserve at all times, Lord.
01:11:42.239 --> 01:11:44.000
Because you're more than worthy of it, Lord.
01:11:44.640 --> 01:11:54.000
We ask that that even through the trying times and the way of the world now, Lord, that you help heal people, that you help give them the things that's going to help them in their lives.
01:11:54.079 --> 01:11:54.239
Yes.
01:11:54.479 --> 01:11:57.279
So that we can continue to fill that kingdom up, Lord.
01:11:57.680 --> 01:12:04.880
We know that our purpose here as Christians is not to only go to church, but to get in your word and most of all to try to bring more people to you, Lord.
01:12:05.279 --> 01:12:07.680
And again, through it all, you receive all the glory.
01:12:08.000 --> 01:12:13.279
And I ask that those that are listening that they gain something today and that they even pass it forward.
01:12:14.000 --> 01:12:22.000
Spread the word of vent one of ones podcasts out there so we can do this together, Lord, and let them know that we we're going through the same things they are.
01:12:22.479 --> 01:12:26.239
But the one thing we do know is that you're gonna get us and help us through this, Lord.
01:12:26.720 --> 01:12:32.880
We know that it's we have to get used to being uncomfortable in this walk because why the enemy is always gonna try.
01:12:33.039 --> 01:12:45.119
So give them the strength, the encouragement, the power, the holy boldness, so they can step up in your name and your name only and keep this thing going so we can continue the righteous path that you want us to go on, Lord.
01:12:45.279 --> 01:12:47.359
These are the things I have to do tonight.
