ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Sami Clarke and Sami Spalter are recording in New York City with a conversation that started over breakfast and turned into an hour long rant they knew had to be an episode. It started in Sami Spalter's closet. She had over 30 pairs of jeans that didn't fit, and she realized she'd been keeping a whole room of tiny reminders that she wasn't enough as she is.
Tune in as the Samis talk about the energy of proving, the shoulds we never chose for ourselves, and who handed them to us in the first place. Sami Clarke shares how learning she's a projector in human design gave her permission to move differently, and why a mermaid painting she found at an art store reminded her to trust what she actually likes. Sami Spalter talks about her grandma Bubby, a Holocaust survivor, telling her she was too sensitive. She also shares how grieving her mom taught her that no one should shrink their needs to make someone else comfortable, and the night she wore jeans and a sweater while everyone else showed up in gowns. They also get into tall poppy syndrome, why their friendship works because they're so different, and how a relationship becomes a magnifying glass for who you really are.
If you've been dimming yourself to fit in somewhere, this is your reminder that the only permission you need is your own.
