Doc Tovah: Shalom, my name is Dr. Tova Goldfein. I'm a doctor of chiropractic and rehabilitation. I'm a neuroplastic coach and a pain reprocessing therapy specialist. I'm also the host of the TMS Roundtable Recovery Broadcast. And joining me in my holy virtual studio is my friend and colleague Noah Carrie. We are bringing you the Brain and Body Cafe. Now, Noah. You gotta hear this. She's a trauma-informed somatic therapist, a yoga instructor, and a brain retraining coach. And Noah and I are joining together our years of experience and successful practice with clients to bring you this practical brain and body cafe. Noah, let's chat a little bit. Tell tell tell the listeners a little bit about you, and then we'll we'll chat more together. Yeah.
Noa Kairy: All right. Yeah. Yeah, so thanks so much for introducing me. So, yeah, so I've been working with people on their healing journey, you know, people who have been suffering from all sorts of different conditions for a long time and are feeling stuck. And you know, some people may know me, and you know, Dr. Tova doesn't know that I've been there myself. I recovered from conditions like chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia and chronic allergies and mold toxicity and other conditions. And I used a combination, brain retraining, somatic therapy tools, nervous system work to help me heal. And what I found extremely in you know, incredibly important on my journey is that emotional peace. So now I work with others and now I help other people on their journey find that kind of missing peace. Yeah.
Doc Tovah: Wow. So, Noah, I've heard your story, but like even hearing you talk about it again, the fact that you've been there and recovered will help so many of the students of the Brain and Body Cafe. So let's share together a little bit more about the unique methods that you know I will bring and you will bring to the cafe.
Noa Kairy: So, you know, what I'm seeing is that many people are doing brain retraining programs and learning nervous system tools and they know how to breathe, they know how to regulate and calm their bodies down. And you know, what I'm noticing is that they are still feeling stuck. So, one of the biggest reasons I see for this is that, you know, when we feel safer in our bodies, the emotional experience begins to surface, and that can feel quite scary. So, learning how to regulate your nervous system isn't quite the same as learning the tools of what to do once that These emotional experiences or the trauma begins to surface in the body. So many people tell me, you know, no, I'm going backwards, I'm getting worse, or I'm doing something wrong. And what's actually happening is that this is the next part of your journey. You know, we are here together to help you through that by learning the tools, you know, to understand what are these tools to help, you know, experience and to be present with those emotional experiences in the body. Without having to get overwhelmed or without shutting down, you know, and that's that unique little offering of that piece that I'm so excited to bring here to the Brain Body Cafe. And I'm really excited to collaborate with you together. You know, we're gonna work together on helping all of you regulate your nervous system, befriend the body, build emotional capacity, the kind that you need in order to really heal and transform. And we're gonna be sharing practical. Somatic tools, emotional processing practices, live demonstrations, and other ways that you can work with whatever comes up in your daily life. And we're also gonna understand a little bit more about the different nervous system states. You know, so you can customize your practices for your specific nervous system state. So I really think
Doc Tovah: Really important.
Noa Kairy: that's one of the places where I believe many people have been missing support. And so I find that really unique in what we provide here at the Brain Body Cafe. So just really
Doc Tovah: Wonderful.
Noa Kairy: excited and to be collaborating with you and sharing all of this with all of you.
Doc Tovah: Noah, you have you have so much you have so much knowledge. You have so much knowledge and I'm excited to to teach people about the nervous system states. It's a wonderful nervous system language. You know, and you and I talked about this and we're gonna be helping the students of the Brain and Body Cafe. you know, we know one of the biggest challenges in recovery isn't learning more information. It's knowing how and when to apply it. And when we feel stuck and anxious or overwhelmed, our nervous system shifts into a state of threat. And in these moments it's not looking for more information, it's looking for signs of safety. And this will be our opportunity together to practice with the members coming out of their head and into their body. And all of you have heard me say you're Smart and sensitive individuals, brilliant, and yes, with sensitive nervous systems. And all day you're moving from a sympathetic state to a parasympathetic state automatically. And we want to learn this when we are most triggered and meeting our symptoms. So when we automatically move into the state that Noah's talking about, that state of ease and calm, is when we can update and retrain and regulate. So I call this practice, you know, reaching into your Mary Poppins bag of safety and somatic capacity tools. And I really see NOAA that we'll be able, this practice and this demonstration will be really the best way for people to learn until this be this will become their default. And the new habits, the new neuropathways, repetition, repetition, repetition. And that's why we're going to be meeting. On Zoom monthly. So let's let's go in, let's talk about logistics, okay? Okay, now correct me if I'm wrong. We'll be starting mid-November. We'll be meeting twice a month, two different time zones, right? Right now, two different time zones. Okay.
Noa Kairy: Yeah. Mm-hmm.
Doc Tovah: Each month it'll be on a Monday and a Thursday of the first week, and a Monday and a Thursday of the third week of the month. We'll be opening up a private Facebook page. For you, where you can listen to this recording again. You can meet Noah and I on the Facebook page. You'll get all the details there. There'll be more information about the new upcoming Brain and Body Cafe. In October, we'll be gonna we'll be having two live QA's. People can meet and talk with us. So please join the Facebook link below. there'll be more updates. Looking forward so forward to meeting you all there. Wait a minute, before we say goodbye, Noah, did I forget anything?
Noa Kairy: But you know, I want to
Doc Tovah: Okay.
Noa Kairy: add that our intention for this group is for it to be a positive, supportive, and very compassionate group. And so we we won't be going into any kind of symptom talk. We'll be focusing
Doc Tovah: Morton, yes.
Noa Kairy: primarily on the healing aspect of your healing journey to give your body, give your mind an opportunity to listen to what's inside rather than on the symptom itself. So yeah, that's just something I wanted to add. That's a very important yeah.
Doc Tovah: Very, very, very necessary. So
Noa Kairy: Yeah.
Doc Tovah: we'll see you in October. Please join the Facebook link below. Have a blessed day. Noah, good to have some coffee with you. Bye, honey.
Noa Kairy: Thank you. Bye. Bye.
