Stolen Hounds. Convicted Thief. Dogs Still Missing.

In this episode, Christopher Todd Edwards of TicBite NC discusses the heartbreaking case involving Madison Rast and her two stolen Treeing Walker hounds, Remmy and Major.

The dogs disappeared during the 2024 Grand American Coon Hunt, one of the biggest hunting events in the country. Authorities later identified a suspect, and a conviction for grand larceny followed — but the dogs are still missing.

This episode explores:
• What happened at the Grand American
• The emotional toll on the family
• The investigation and court case
• Why hunting dog theft is devastating to owners
• The ongoing effort to bring Remmy and Major home

For many houndsmen, these dogs are not “property.”
They are family, hunting partners, and part of a way of life.
