[00:00:00] Hi everyone. I'm Stephanie. And I'm Meredith. And welcome to, this is my circus.
Much better, much. But that felt good. I felt solid. That was take three. Oh, it was? It was. But you know, sometimes you just gotta multiple, multiple takes. Yeah. And that's okay. Yeah, that's okay. I see you're drinking one of those Celsius things. Yes, they am. Are they good? Yeah. It's like a sparkling water that's flavored, right?
Yeah. And it's got 200 milligrams of caffeine. Oh, well, a little bit. Um, so, well, you know, and like a caffeine just doesn't affect me like it used to. Yeah. Yeah. Well, Brian messaged me one day at home, messaged me, he texted me, I said it like he sent him carrier pigeon and he The owl from, yeah. Harry Potter.
Harry Potter. Um, and he. Was like, Hey, can we go to Sam's this weekend? And I was like, yeah. And he sent me a picture of one of those. He was like, we gotta get some of these. And I was like, okay. Great. So that's our big, exciting weekend plans. Well, so I went to Costco with my [00:01:00] mom. Yeah. Um, a couple days ago.
And they had a case of like three different flavors.
Yeah. And so Is that the mango? Um, this is tropical. Oh, okay. Tropical vibe. So it was like tropical vibe. Um, peach vibe. Mm-hmm. And, um, Arctic Vibe Okay. Is like three flavors, and I, they were all good. Yeah. Um, I'm not a sparkling water fan. Mm-hmm. , , do you like monsters or anything like that?
I've never ever tried anything like that. Oh, I know. OMG yeah. I figured I have enough bad habits in my life without introducing anything else I don't know about that. Think how much more productive I could be if I, if I did that. Um, speaking of productive Uhhuh, So I have been adding some things to our Pinterest page.
Yes. Um, so I put some links for the books that we've done and there's actually a product you wanted to talk about today, right? Oh yeah. Okay. So I think we had touched on this a couple of episodes ago about how white my legs are. We talked about both of our legs [00:02:00] beyond very white. Um, and I don't have time to be outside.
And I was just chilly today inside, so I have pants on, but, um, I got. Self Tanner and it is called, B Tan Self. Tan moose. Um, so the one that you pinned was called tanned af? Yeah. And that was the first one I got. Okay. And I liked it. Okay. I didn't like the smell. Oh. Um, it's had like a, like funky smell and you're only, see, you're supposed to apply it, wait an hour, and then take a shower and like rinse off.
Oh, okay. So, Well, most of them are not supposed to shower for like seven days. One hour you rinse it off. Okay. And then you're tan, I mean like, and it really, really, really works. Okay. Um, and that's the other one. Yeah, that's okay. And so I went back on Amazon. Mm-hmm. And it's only like 9 95. It's like super cheap.
And they have a new one called Disco candy Tan, which has a way better scent. Well, the smell on all of 'em is, can I smell it? Yeah, [00:03:00] it's, it's, it has every, oh, they all have it. A stink smell. Oh yeah. Yeah. So that smells so much better than the other one. And it works just as well. It's like the same, is it the same moose and you rinse it off?
Mm-hmm. After an hour. Yeah. Can you send me the link to that one? I sure. It's actually on the same listing. As the same Oh, it's like a variation. Okay. You can pick whichever one, but, so that was tan af and this is disco candy Tan? Yeah. Okay, cool. So, but like, look how dark my legs are. Yeah, look at the white mine are, that's, that's good stuff.
I'm gonna have to definitely get something. Um, so when I first bought the first one, it came with like a MIT to use. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. This one did not, but I had my MIT from the last one. One, yeah. So, um, but it was, yeah, this one smells way better. And it's the theme like tan rating, um, you know, it's like the medium, like three outta five or whatever.
Yeah, yeah. Um, cause I, you know, like I'm white. I can't go like right to, no, we, we gotta transition a little bit. Well, I had, um, Wanted to try a different tanner, but like I was saying, and you've mentioned the smell. Mm-hmm. [00:04:00] They all have just that very distinct, nasty what, and you, you know, you, you let it dry, whatever.
Then you get in bed to go to sleep. That's typically what I do anyway. And then I'm like, I'll smell it. Yeah. And, and it's in your sheets and like rubs off. Yeah. I have not had, and like I have like white sheets on my bed right now. Yeah. And there has been no transfer on. I'll be making that purchase a disco candy tan.
Yeah. And like I said, it, it's like 9 95. Yeah. Yeah. That's So, and I've tried, I mean, I've tried like, so many different stuff. Tanners, I've tried, like the $50 ones I've tried, you know? Right. Everything in between. Right. Um, this really does work. You can, it says like, if you want like the super, super dark tan Yeah.
You can do a second application after the one hour. Like, don't rinse it off, do a sep second application and leave it on for four hours and then rinse it off. Okay. Um, and that will give you like, the super deep tan. Okay. Um, but that'd be something to do in a couple weeks. Yeah. After you've, well, and I've been doing it like every couple days.
Okay. Um, but yeah, I mean, it's given me, I, I've gone like good three or at least three to four shades darker. [00:05:00] Okay. Look at you. I know. And I don't do it like on my face or like Yeah, dark. They do make those face tanners. They do. You know, I'm so afraid. Like, I know. You know what? I'll be like all blotchy, like I'll, oh yeah, I'll look like a cheetah.
Oh my goodness. So, um, okay. Yeah. So definitely like if you are looking for a self tanner, Um, we will put a link in the show notes cuz we're bringing something like that. Absolutely, absolutely. And then we'll also, post it in the group. Yep. So, totally check it out. Yes. Cheap af Well, and like you said, just the time to go sit outside.
I mean, that's part of. What brought us here to, you know, do this is we don't have time to multitask all this stuff. Yeah. So just to have, yeah. Something else. Um, I wanted to mention something else too. I was just talking to my sister mm-hmm. On the way, and she was like, do y'all do record live? And I was like, Hmm.
We record live and then we post it, you know, and not live. We post it [00:06:00] edited, right? And she was like, I need the unedited version. And I was like, well, I was like, I'm your sister, you talk to me on the daily, you get the unedited version of me. She was like, I won't both, um, not doing that. But she was like, can I watch you?
So she didn't even, I mean, and maybe that's my fault for not explaining it properly to her, but. We need to link that again because she was like, I'm like, you see me all the time, but so you can actually watch us as we are crazy circus. Ring Masters. Don't comment. No, that's funny. Spell Spanish too. Yeah. So what's been, what have you been doing?
Um, same old, same old. I mean, really nothing fancy. My, um, main coworker that I, I work alongside Moses out this week. And so, you know, just trying to pick up like what she had responsibilities do this week. You know, just that kind of stuff. So work's been a little out of my comfort zone, which is fine. It's been good.
Um, my umping [00:07:00] is, is I'm done. Oh, wow. I'm done because, um, I did some this week and then they're in like the finals of like playoffs and we talked about that. Um, Jackson had basketball last weekend. And, um, that was fun. I mean, it is what it is. It's all day and exhausting. Yeah. Um, I feel like I was gonna tell you something funny from basketball, but I can't remember it.
. Well, and I saw you had an exciting post about him for next year that Yes. Um, so, and, and I, I think we might have mentioned it already on the, this podcast, but I didn't put it out like on social media yet. Um, but he got accepted to the, uh, Legion and Collegiate Academy to play there. Yes.
So I'm super excited about that. Yes, I've heard great things about Legion. Yeah. And we, you know, we've talked about that. We have other friends that go there. Yes. And I like saying Legion Collegiate. Me too. It sounds fancy. That is really cool. He'll be out of school at two o'clock every day, like 1 30, 2 o'clock done with sports, everything.
Yeah. Um, so that's kind of a cool, um, you [00:08:00] know, feature. Yeah, yeah. Um, so he's excited. He'll be driving. Him and Jonas have plans to drive to school. I'm sure they do. And so he, , he's ready, he's ready to be done. Yeah. With this chapter from there. Yeah. And start on the next chapter. So yeah. Good for him.
Yeah. Good for him.
Yeah. And to be back with Jonas mm-hmm. And you know, just to have a new page turn and Yes. All that. So few more days and he'll be yes. Back in blue and green where he belongs. Yes. Back to his roots. Back to his roots. Um, so, Last night I picked Jackson up. Um, he ate, he's been doing some football workouts and I picked him up and, um, on the way home he was like, can, ooh, can we stop at the gas station and get some taters?
You know what I'm talking about? And um, I was like, okay, yes, the big potato wedges good. It must just be a southern thing to call 'em taters, I guess. I don't know. But. That's us [00:09:00] Southerners can be right. So he was like, can I get some titers? And I was like, yeah, that's fine. So Brian was like, um, well get me a few too.
And I was like, okay, cool. No problem cuz you can get, you know, like a dozen or whatever at a time. I was like, that'll be plenty. So it was like the time when they're not cooking anymore and um, it's kind of like whatever they have is what you get, right. So we walked in and I was like, okay, give me, I don't even remember, however, give me this many taters and do you have like a chicken breast or something?
I was like, I'll have that. Yeah, we ate a meal from the gas station, but that's okay. That's not the point. It's, it's so good. That's, I was saying that, I was like, people are probably like, but if you're local to Clover Yeah. You know, you know where we're talking about. Yeah. So anyway, so the dude was like, I don't have the chicken breast or whatever, but um, I put like a couple of chicken wings or what he said, I think I put four pieces of chicken there.
It's like, oh cool. Thank you. So we get home, Brian and Jackson start eating and what. I'm listening. Oh, you're just listening and sitting like, okay. So they start eating and I let the dogs out and I do, you know, [00:10:00] whatever it is that we do as soon as you get home. Right. And I go to sit down and I'm like, is there any chicken left?
Homie had eaten between the two of them. They ate all the, the taters, which is fine. I mean, that's But you wanted your chicken out. I wanted, but I was like, I thought that was for me. And I was like bruh. Dude, and he does this kind of stuff all the time, like it makes me so angry. There was, here's another story.
This is great too. So, man, this is, this is a couple years ago. I was, he gets off from work at like three, and I work, still work from home till like five-ish. So I had been marinating. Steak and it was a big steak. Yeah, it was like a big mama jamma one, and I was gonna marinate it and then just cut it and cook it in half two.
So I'm upstairs in my office working and I hear him coming and going. I'm like, oh, he is gonna go ahead and get dinner going or whatever. I don't even know. And I come down and I get ready to cook dinner and he's like, I cooked that steak and ate it. I was like, the whole thing. [00:11:00] He was like, I thought that was for me.
And I was like, all of it. Like he just has no. Like, it doesn't even cross his mind to be like, Hey, you want one of these, or Oh my god, I know. Well, so you know, I have to eat, eat =gluten free stuff. Yes. And so, um, I buy specific snacks for me. Yeah. And then specific snacks for everybody else. Yeah. And so, you know that they go for the gluten free stuff.
First every time. Really? Yeah. They think it's better. I, I, I mean, maybe it's just because like you're not supposed, like they're not supposed to have it, that they want it, but Yeah. Like why? That's the whole world of food. Oh yeah. This is, I have this cabinet. My gosh. Oh my God. I know. So I think it's a guy thing.
I think it is just not even, I was like, babe, like awareness. Yeah. I was like, you didn't even think to say, oh, there's four pieces of, and they were, don't get me wrong, they weren't like big, huge, [00:12:00] whatever. But I was like, you didn't even think to be like, Hey, do you want one of these? And if I said, yeah, cool, you still have three?
And if I said, no, well you still get 'em all. And he was like, I didn't, I thought they were all for me. They have no awareness. No. Yeah. None. Yeah. Speaking of awareness, oh, are you gonna say something else? No. Can we talk about our book? Yes. So it was the Paris apartment? Yes. Do you wanna, do you have the blurb?
I do. Because you usually ha are really good about having that to read and let everybody know what it was about preparedness. I know I love it because, you know, I just wing it. It's not my whole life. All right. And so, like you said, the Paris's apartment. Um, Jess needs a fresh start. She's broke and alone.
Know the feeling. No, we don't. Sometimes. Sometimes, yeah. And she's just left her job under less than ideal circumstances. Her half-brother Ben, didn't sound thrilled when she. Asked [00:13:00] if she could crash with him for a bit, but he didn't say no. And surely everything will look better from Paris. Only when she shows up to find a very nice apartment.
Could Ben really have afforded this? He's not there,
. The longer Ben stays missing, the more Jess starts to dig into her brother's situation, the more questions she has. Ben's neighbors are an EC eclectic bunch and not particularly friendly. Jess may have come to Paris to escape her pass, but it's starting to look like it's Ben's future that's in question.
The socialite, the nice guy, the alcoholic, the girl on the verge, the concierge. Everyone's a neighbor. Everyone's a suspect, and everyone knows something they're not telling. So that was the blurb that Amazon gave? Yes. , I know that you had a hard time with this book, a kid, so tell me your thoughts. Okay, so, uh, had a.
Attempted to listen to it previously. Mm-hmm. And I Xed that. I was like, this is not gonna work. Um, so I tried to read it. The, the book and Tilt didn't work Really. And I was like, just for convenience sake, I'm gonna listen and, you know, get through it. [00:14:00] Right. Um, it was another one of those to me though, that like the most, the best part was like the last.
few minutes. Yeah. Um, because, and I, I think it might have been the accents or, I don't know, I had a hard time staying focused and following who was who and what was what, and just all the pieces and probably cause it was a complicated story, like even in her, um, I forgot the author's name, but even in her like acknowledgement, she's like, this was a complicated story and da da da da.
So it's like, okay, good. It's not just me. Yeah. I, but I had a hard time following, following it. Yeah. But I, I mean, what did you think? I actually really liked it. Probably like a seven outta 10. Yeah. I would say. Okay. Um, I. Liked the, um, the twist and turn. Like I don't, for me it was like very Well, I could see where it's hard to follow.
I was like, give me all the twists. Yeah. I listened to it. I didn't mind the, the, the accents. Yeah. I mean, I was okay with it. Yeah. But, um, what I did [00:15:00] appreciate of the book was hitting on a hot topic that is really relevant today, which is the human trafficking. Mm-hmm. Um, so I. Like that there is a new book Yes.
On the market. Yep. That does hit that. Yeah. It hits the dark side. Yeah. Of um, not just par I mean, that's worldwide. Yeah. It's a worldwide issue. It is. And so we, I hear a lot about that in our area. Charlotte is a big hub for it. Uhhuh. So, um, I, I appreciated. Absolutely. Having a hot topic in there. Yeah. Um, to spread some awareness on it.
Um, you would think in, you know, like they're in like this, like super, like ritzy, you know? Right. Super area with all bougie. Yeah. All these like, you know, you know prominent people. Right. Um, and then you see like the police. You know are mm-hmm. You know, possibly in on it and like, and it's all like, legit stuff.
It really happened. Yeah. So I appreciated that part of the book a lot. Yeah. I didn't realize how recent the book was Yeah. Until I went back and it was like, she was, you know, mentioned that she wrote some of it during the pandemic. Yeah. And I was like, [00:16:00] oh, wow. This is pretty recent. Yeah. Um, well, I, I did that in the, like after Yeah.
The whole book was done when they were going through the author's notes or whatever. Um, After I got done with this though, like it, you know, it was on my mind and I was like, gosh, you know, and then I, you know, we've heard how many times Yes. About all these, you know, uh, potential abductions that in our area.
Yeah. Like, yeah. I started looking up some statistics and I know that we don't normally hit on like serious stuff. No, it's okay. Isn't, but yeah. Um, I. After I just kind of like did like a quick goog. Mm-hmm. Um, it says every year there's an estimate of 15,000 to 50,000 women and children trafficked every year in the US alone.
And Wow. Um, they don't know because so many are just considered quote unquote runaways. Yeah. And aren't taken seriously by the police. Yeah. Or it's, you know, people in. Different lines of work. Right. That are, you know, not high-risk lifestyle. Exactly. So, um, the other thing is too, [00:17:00] we hear all the time, well, you know, oh, we, yeah.
That, um, you know, adults can go missing. Like, it's okay. There's not a law against it. Yeah. And as much as their family members might, whatever, and look for them and, you know, Yeah. Want them back. They still have a right to do that. So all of those that, you know, they're just counted in, in that number. Yep.
Um, but yeah, it's a, it's a huge thing. And you know, think of all like the small, bitty little kids. I mean, teenager, everything. It's just, you know, oh yeah, it's. It's heartbreaking, um, reading the statistics and reading mm-hmm. All of, you know, a lot of these websites have, um, survivor stories mm-hmm. And like that's, I I can't go down that rabbit hole.
I, right. Well, you've read, I'm sure, um, some of the just like Facebook posts Yes. Where it's like, I was in Target and this happened and you know, you know this person and you know, it's like the six degrees of Kevin Bacon or whatever. Mm-hmm. You know them through somebody else and you're like, oh my gosh, this really happened to somebody in my.
Area. Yeah. Yeah. I know. And who's [00:18:00] legit? Not just making a story to, and you wanna think that it can't happen mm-hmm. In our small little town, but Oh yeah, it can. Mm-hmm. And it does. And it's awful. Yeah. Um, but I, it did say that the top 10 states with the highest rate of human trafficking are California.
Mm-hmm. Texas. Florida, New York, Georgia, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, and Illinois. Wow. Those are the top 10 states for human trafficking. A lot of those make sense because they're either right near the border or they're such a big city. Yeah. But like Missouri, That sounds crazy to me. So it like the map show how many interstates.
Oh yeah. Um, because if they can get on an interstate quickly, they can get away. Which is what I've heard about the target. Like in Gastonia. Yeah. Cause it's right by 85. Yep. Um, okay, that makes sense. So, Yeah. You know, stay diligent. Yeah. Mm-hmm. And I, I'm, I appreciate that she brought such a hot topic in her book.
Yeah. Um, a current book. Mm-hmm. So, yeah, that's a good perspective. [00:19:00] Yeah. Um, but that was my take on that book. That was, that was, so, it went a little deep, I, I think deeper than I, maybe it was. meant it to be, but yeah. Um, I did appreciate it. Yeah, no, that's good. That's a, like I said, a good perspective and that is a reminder for us to be careful.
Park under street lights. When I was younger, I didn't care. I'd go anywhere by myself. God, I probably should have been kidnapped a hundred times. I know. I know. But then now I do try to, you know, park under the lights and all that kind of stuff. You know, boys got a doc. I've done uhhuh in my, you know, I, yeah.
You know, you try to instill that in your kids and you know, they look at you like you're crazy. Oh, absolutely. Yeah. They do that on the record anyway, not just girls. So yeah, you have boys out there, have a conversation. Absolutely, absolutely. Poor Dylan has had that conversation a hundred times. Well, you have to be careful, unfortunately.
Um, But that's a good reminder. Um, so I got a story. Yes, I kicked a dog. What? Because I was walking Rex in my neighborhood, [00:20:00] and this woman, one of the neighbors in the front of the neighborhood was like trying to get in her house with the groceries. And her two dogs came running out, and one was little and one was like Rex size Uhhuh, and they started attacking Rex.
Oh. And. So I, alright. And like, by like snapping, like, you know. Yeah. And like, so Rex of course was trying to protect me thinking I was danger and he was going back and so I kicked the big dog. I don't blame you though. Blame, she like, you kicked that. No, she, oh yeah. She was mortified. Yeah. Like, which, you know, she's like, I am.
So it's this, this little one's Not even my dog, it's my daughter's dog. I wanted to go home. Oh goodness. But y'all didn't get bed or anything though, right? No, I was like checking him. Yeah. He was okay. And like as soon as the dogs went inside, he sat down right next to me and he was fine. And like the lady was, you know, coming over and she's like, what?
And he's like looking at her like, yeah, lady. Right, right. What are we doing? But um, you know, he let her pet him and she, you know, apologized and, you know, dogs are [00:21:00] dogs, like, you know, stuff happens. Yeah. They're still animals. Yeah. But, Uh, yeah. So you kicked a dog puppy kicker. Dude. I went into like Mama Rex mode.
Okay. You go. That's, that's scary. And that kind of stuff can go really bad. Yeah. When you started talking one of our first episodes, it might have been the very first one you were talking about a dude who walks his dog. Oh yeah. And I thought That's two dogs. The two, the two big ones. Yeah. Yeah. I thought that's what you were gonna say.
And I was like, oh, no, no. So I'm gonna start packing. Carry some mace or something. I was a little stronger. We do not condone violence. I don't condone violence. I condone, um, protect your own self protection. Yes. There you go. There you go. self defense. Yes. That's where my, like, you know, when Dylan used to be in TaeKwonDo when he was little?
Mm-hmm. It was like my little like remainder of the TaeKwonDo. I mean, that's scary though. It was, it was not. A good thing Yeah. [00:22:00] Happen. I'm glad everybody's okay. But then I was afraid he was gonna like regress back to being super, like hesitant to be around Yeah. Dogs cuz like he loves little dogs.
Yeah. But um, yeah, he's okay. He's fine. He's such a good boy. So I didn't get arrested for. Well, you know, that's good. We don't have a, a GoFundMe set for, uh, bail money. For catch a charge. . , so speaking of not getting arrested, but getting arrested. Yes. Do you have your dumb crime? I do In Florida. I do Your Florida man crime. I do. So my prerequisite for this week was I needed to find something that happened in the theme park.
Yes. Um, I am a universal person over Disney. Yes, you too. Yes. And on top of that, I'm a big Harry Potter nerd. Like I love Harry Potter and all that in entails. So, um, with that said, that's where we are going to Harry Potter World and Universal. And I'm looking for the exact article. [00:23:00] I'm sorry, I did not have that up.
Okay, so my source is, um, w. D w n t.com, which is Walt Disney News today. Um, I guess they're knocking HP and Universal. So there was a man arrested for haphazard Harry Potter merchandise, shoplifting spree at Universal. I don't blame him.
Um, police said, I know stuff's expensive. Police had a New Jersey man stole from Universal Studios Florida gift Shop last month. And he stole, and stole and stole. You get the idea. Ryan Walsh, 31 of Sioux, New Jersey was arrested and charged with grand theft, a third degree felony. According to court records, the incident unfolded Denver December 6th as a universal loss prevention officer watched Walsh.
Approach a Harry Potter Christmas ornament display and take four ornaments, one representing each Hogwarts house. Well, you can't like leave one out, right? [00:24:00] Wasn't SL or anything. Yeah, hold on. I got a story on that too. Okay, so this is an extensive list. I'll try to cut it down. But he takes, uh, one of those and hides them, and then he left the ornament display, stuck the ornaments in a, in a merchandise bag, and then he went and stole a whole nother set.
And then he headed to the display selling phone cases and put a Death eaters and a Raven Claw phone case in his bag. Then he went back to the Christmas ornaments and got more. Next he went to the socks. Dobby. That's the first thing I thought. Yeah. Dobis a free el. Um, he stuck several pairs in his bag. He returned to the Christmas, or I don't know what it was about the Christmas or, but he needed a lot of this.
Listen, he was like doing a Harry Potter theme tree and he, yeah. Um, so then he went and he got a Harry Potter throw blanket. That's big. Mm-hmm. That's not a little whatever, whatever is my go-to word these days. Um, so anyway. He admitted to stealing it, which [00:25:00] cost. $827 from the store and he admitted that he had stolen other items from the park as well.
Um, he could not be reached for comment. Wait, so how, what's like the threshold for grand theft? I don't know, because that's not their, I thought it was gonna be more like hearing grand theft. Yeah. Third degree felony. Well, a first degree felony is higher. Than a third degree. Right? Yeah. Like the worst you can get is a first degree, right?
I think so. Yeah. I can murder. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I guess it's just, it's probably like $800. And he did a, I don't know, but yeah, that was a, a lot. Where did he stick it? So he had a universal bag. Oh, okay. And he just kept like walking around and pretty much just like putting it in his legs. It's dumb.
It's stupid. Dumb. And what made you think that you could just. Like conceal a throw blanket. I mean, that's pretty obvious. Yeah. And what was he, [00:26:00] I bet he was gonna resell it. I bet he was gonna like sell it on eBay or something. Maybe he was just a super fan. Maybe, but then you, I would've stole the little, I don't know, wig.
I know they're cute, aren't they? They are so cute. They are very cute. Yeah, they're very cute. So I met the criteria of a theme park. Dumb crime. Dumb crime. Okay. Um, so, dude, were you able to find one with an alligator? A lot. Girl, did you have any doubts? Because this is a good one. Okay. I can't wait. Um, so this, this one is dedicated to my girl, Meredith.
I love it. All right. Um, so this was actually on cnn, not a almost f new source like my wb, but it was like back in 2015, I think. Mm-hmm. Um, so it says it's all fun and games until someone tosses an alligator through a drive-through window. Oh, oh. Let's just say that folks at Wendy's and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Con Conservation Commission were not amused.
A South Florida man was taken into custody after he was accused of placing an [00:27:00] order at the fast food restaurant in Royal Palm Beach, which by the way, I lived. Right after, like we moved there right after we graduated college, and then Brandon took a job in Tennessee. Oh, this like our, yeah, so we used to actually live there, so.
Okay. I know we're, they're talking. Oh my God. Um, alright. Right. So south florida man was taken into custody after he was accused of placing an order at the fast food restaurant in Royal Palm Beach, taking his drink and then pitching in a three and a half foot Gator when the server turned around. He's a prankster.
His mom's Linda James told c n n, um, affiliate, W P T V. He does stuff like this because he thinks he's funny. He's not funny, Linda, it's not so funny now. Yeah. Joshua James 23 is charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession in transportation of an alligator. So, oh, so many questions. Oh, there's more.
The incident happened in October, but he wasn't arrested until this weekend. I think it was like January of 2016 or February [00:28:00] 20, or, yeah, the. A couple months later, I don't even get that. His mom said just a stupid prank that he did that's now turning into this. It's stupid. Yes. But at least he'll still have a tail.
Or is it a tail tell his kid a tale to tail? Or is it a tale to tale? Oh my gosh. One, the fact that his mom's reaction was like, oh, it was a stupid prank look, which I'm sure it was like, You know, a dumb like 20 something kid, but a gator well bite. Could you imagine getting hit in the back with a gator? No.
And my question is, Was this a pet? No, he found it on the side of the road. Um, and like on the way, like to Wendy's. Did I miss that part? No. Oh, okay. Read, I have read three different articles. Oh. And this was like the shortest one. Okay, perfect, perfect, perfect. So he found it, picked it up. Three feet is not a small gator.
No, it's not. Um, but it's not like a huge [00:29:00] meter. No, no, no. But um, yeah, but you have to have some, like, those windows aren't big, like the drive-through windows are not big. And so like, He threw it like a football. I was thinking like, you know, like a javelin. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like that, that, that way. Not like a, oh my gosh.
He picked this thing up on the side of the road and just had it in his car, in his truck, in his pickup truck and was like, let's go get in some mischief, I guess. Have you ever stopped? I'm sure you have. Have you ever stopped and picked up a turtle in the road? No. Really? No. Um, I. Yeah. Yeah. That's, that's, that's not, that's it.
Like, no. Well, I have, I don't, I was in, this is when I still lived with my mom, um, at home. So this was. A while back and we lived in a neighborhood and, um, there was a turtle in randomly in the middle of the neighborhood. It's not like out where I live now, where it's the middle of the country. Like you move it from one side of the road to the other.
This was like, I needed to put it [00:30:00] somewhere other than somebody's yard. So I put it in my ca in my, the floorboard of the other side and it like started crawling up. Nope. Yeah. No ma'am. I don't even remember. Probably threw it out the window. No, I'm just kidding. I wouldn't do that. But I was like, oh, just be still.
Be still I'm gonna take you somewhere. Good. He probably thought I was abducting him to take him. We're gonna get like band by the ASPCA for kicking dogs and throwing turtles. I'm throwing alligators like a, I think I just snorted someone. Alligator was like, javelins. Oh my gosh. Um, can you edit out my snort?
You're not going to, you're not going to. I don't give you the permission to do that. Um, so I have a funny Disney story from when I was like 19. Okay. We took a road trip with a bunch of our friends mm-hmm. And one of our friends had a timeshare. So we were down there and we all wanted to go to downtown Disney mm-hmm.
To go drink. Well, I was 19. Yeah. So I [00:31:00] had my sister's id. Okay. She is 21. She was 21 at the time. Um, Kids do not do this because it doesn't end well. So I, you know, I got in whatever. And so like, like they checked the ideas, like, I don't know how many times, like, probably like eight times at every place we went.
Mm-hmm. And I don't look like my sister, my one sister, like at, at all. We do not, you would, if you saw her pictures, like you would be like, no, no, no way. Okay. Okay. Didn't know why, like, this was a good idea, but we all thought it was a great idea. Because you were 19. That's why you thought it was a good idea.
And, um, so this ginormous bouncer, oh, like when I tell you he is like, he was like six and a half feet tall. Oh my gosh. Like linebacker, like Yeah. Huge, huge dude. And like, I was in college, like 110 pounds soaking wet, like right. Like, Your typical, [00:32:00] like Yeah, you were the size of his left thigh maybe. Yeah, maybe his toe.
Like the dude with this huge, and he's like, he, he pulls me outside and I was like looking up my five two Yeah. Self. And he's like, this isn't you. And I'm like, He is my sister. You cracked under pressure. I totally did. Brandon comes out, he's like, come on man. Like she lost weight. Like he, yeah. Cause my sister has like a fuller face and uh, he's like, she already told me it's not hers.
And he's like, Stef, come on. Like, oh, but he mailed, they mailed the the ID back to my sister. Well that was nice. We got kicked out of down. But you got kicked out. Yeah. So don't do that. Kids. That was my dumb self, so I never tried to use another ID or anything. I never did after that. Yeah. How many years are between you and that sister?
Two. Okay. So it's not like, you know. No, she was too, my other sister, um, we, we were younger. We looked very similar [00:33:00] and, and, um, so I probably could have gotten away with hers, but yeah. So what I'm hearing now is you would not stand up under torture. Now I probably would, but back then, like, no. I've lived now you've lived your rough life in Lake Wylie.
I'm just kidding. I've been through some stuff now. You don't even know what I went through. Um, if it was for somebody else, I like, would like totally. I think, I don't think I would crack, but like. Me, um, at that age. Yeah. Yeah. You were, you were just gonna give it up and I was like, Nope, nope, nope. That's me.
I'm not going. Don't take me to jail officer. He's like, I'm not a cop. Like, just don't step on me. Yeah. Pretty much, pretty much. Um, speaking of torture, I have a story. Oh. So Brian has recently been diagnosed with sleep apnea. Oh. So he has a C P A P machine and he's had it for since the beginning of the year, so several months.
Is it loud? When he first puts it on, [00:34:00] it is like when he turns it on before it was like connected. Um, and then when he gets it on, it's fine. Um, what, just curious. Oh, okay. Just wondering if I think of a machine, like I was wondering if like at first it is, it's kind of like yeah, but then it, he puts it on, it's fine, but I don't like to sleep when it's silent anyway, so I don't mind like the little hum it's got going on.
But anyway, while he's had it, it's been winter and dry and just not even dry. I don't know, just cold weather. Mm-hmm. Pretty much. Mm-hmm. So with the weather changing, I think it's messing with like, the settings that he's got to like, adjust them to kind of correlate with the humidity and all that.
So the other night we, switched the humidity thing to make it like a little more moist. That's a terrible word, isn't it? What's wrong with me? Um,
this is why we do this. I'm not gonna snort. Oh. So anyway, we were playing with the settings. We, we changed [00:35:00] it and he woke up the next day and he was like, I needed to go back the way it was, and I was like, I thought it was too dry. He was like, that's like waterboarding right there. I guess it was just so much moisture.
It was just, he was like, I had to take it off. He was like, I was just drenched. I like my bad dude.
Didn't mean to torture you. He was like, I think I drowned twice now. We know when you get mad at him what to do. Yeah. Just, we'll never know. It's a good idea. That's what I should do. Cause he ate my food. Oh yeah. It's a great idea. Um, is there, like, is it like, like, like wires and stuff? Yeah. So it's probably like six by six square, the machine itself, kind of like a nebulizer. Mm-hmm. If you've ever used one like that, um, for asthma. And then it plugs in and then it's got a cord. And I don't know how long this is, but it's like the oxygen cord kind of that that goes, and the [00:36:00] mask is very small, like smaller than a mouse.
Mm-hmm. Not like a mouse with legs, but like computer mouse. Computer mouse that I'm staring at right now. Like, oh, um, yeah, no, it's very, his is very small and it's, you know, it, he was scared he was gonna get tangled up in it and stuff. Like, that's where I was going with him, like, yeah, like if you roll around like, like you, right.
Like right. So he's got it. But then like I'm thinking, like it messes up the aesthetic of my bedroom. Mm-hmm. But I'd rather him not die and, um, be able to breathe. I'm just thinking like true crime like you could totally get away with like, it was like self. So he, he has it now. So like the, I don't even know the cord that he does, the oxygen, what's that called?
Tubing, Uhhuh, that stuff, it's like hooked over the back of the bed kind of. So it's gives him some room to move so he doesn't get all twisted and tackled up in it. But, uh, picturing him. I know, I know. It's crazy. I know we've reached that stage in life where, [00:37:00] you know, you just need a good night's sleep. It doesn't matter.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Huh. Um, what was his reaction to that clip of um, Matt Rife? Matt, I'm glad you brought that up. Cause. He is like, oh, Rex is destroying his hippo. Yeah. Okay. That one lasted longer than most. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Our, my dogs do the same. So he was like, experience, huh? So can I, can I say something about that or should I just Please do so.
I don't even know how to say it. You know, there's some people that you just wanna be around is stop it. Don't look at me like that. There's some people that you just wanna like hang out with and don't look at me. No, that's not like just, just be around them and have, you know, even if you're not like talking to 'em, you just wanna see what it's like to be in their circle.[00:38:00]
The energy. Yeah, yeah. And experience it. You saw that, oh, you tagged me in that, that, um, you have wife tickets, $20. Yes. Um, and the, like the kidnapper van. Yeah. My goodness. Oh my goodness. Good times. Good times. Absolutely. That would be, yeah. I mean, I, yes. Yeah. So, yeah. So. As I've already snorted on here, one time I was dying laughing at home last night cause we had performances this week with the being the end of the school year, like band and chorus and the movement dance class.
So some of these kids, what are you laughing at? Because I saw Juicies. That's what I was gonna talk about. So Heather sent it to me, his mom, and she was like, because I texted her, I was like, good luck, whatever. And she was like, they got my baby looking like a [00:39:00] clown. And he is like playing air guitar and all this, and I'm dying laughing.
Okay. So I'm just already in that mood where I'm just like, You saw him like doing his legs, like he, oh, I've got same screenshots on my phone cause I was laughing and um, I'm already in that mood and every time it pops in my head I just start laughing. And then I was editing some basketball videos and juicys on Jackson's team.
And there was one where, you know how in basketball, like they flop. Like they, that's what they do. So there was one where like some kid barely ran into him and it was like a delayed reaction and he went like tumbling down. So Brian Jackson and I were watching that and we were all like, how did we not see this in real life?
Like how did we miss that? So between. Him doing the air guitar and jumping over the kid's head and oh my God, he can jump so high. I know. He's crazy. He can jump. His record was five nine in the high jump, but broke school records. I know, I know. So with all of that, she was like, you got him [00:40:00] looking like Shmoo running across the stuff he did.
He did this. So between all of those things it was just, you know, like one thing just starts whatever. So I am, this also happened last night. I am very dramatic. Like when I, I've already, you know, when I told the, the story where I got hit by the scooter and I was like, ah. So Louie, our dog jumped like on my shoulder last night, like I was laying down and he just like, was kind of pawing, whatever.
And I'm like, guttural, screamed. Yeah. You know, whatever. And Artie in this like, laughing frame of mind and I felt myself being ridiculous. So then I started laughing The outer? Yes. Another out body experience. And Jackson was sitting with me and he got up and like covered his face and ran away so he wouldn't laugh cause he was like, is she really hurt?
Is she really mad? Whatever I'm doing the laughing crying thing, which I do quite often. And yeah, just thinking of myself and now I'm [00:41:00] just like, this is so ridiculous. What it was a and I was like, Jackson, is there a scratch? Look, I'm gonna show you. That's it. That's it. It's starting to bruise. Yeah. But it was like a guttural scream and like, Hey look, I'm trying to cover for you like you deserve.
I appreciate it. I appreciate it. I should put some makeup on it to make it look darker. I'm just kidding. But anyway, it was just, yeah, juicy. Oh my gosh. So I had commented on Heather's pose. Yeah. Like your boy stole the show. And she's like, somebody needs to teach that boy like guitar or not banjo. Yeah.
Yes. And I was like, he's so, his legs are so long and when he was squatting down real low and doing like his knees in it, oh my god, I don't even know. Uh, it made me laugh. That was my entertainment as well. Yeah, it was. Thank you, Heather, for posting. We appreciate it. Oh, speaking of Heather too, she wants to be a guest.
Show. Well, that would be awesome. So she can tell more stories. Oh gosh, yes. That we have, yeah. [00:42:00] Of, of the kids. Yeah. Um, so I'll get with her and figure out when we can get her along, cuz I think she'd be great, um, to have to talk to Yeah, I think so too. Um, yeah, I, we, we definitely need to start getting some, in some, some talent.
Yes. Some talent. Some talent. , Let's see. I feel like there was something else I was gonna tell you. My brain is stopped. Yeah, mine too. Um, what's our new next book? Oh, it is called. I see. You check there. Yes. Oh, I, that's what I, that's what I do. I'll tell you that second. Oh, you've got me on tape. Let's see.
On tape. I just showed my age, didn't I? I see you. Um, that's Claire McIntosh, so. Okay. Jackson had a basketball tournament last weekend. It was at Legion. Oh really? Yeah. So they have the one court, and you know how there's like six goals and they can go the short way or long. So they had, [00:43:00] so they had it, so they were doing two.
Courts and then they had all the bleachers out. Mm-hmm. Well, I went to go to the restroom or whatever after winning game and I came back and like where you walk down the bleachers, like that step down the middle of like where they separate, I. They had, folded that up because I guess kids were, it was right under the basket and like if they were hustling, they'd fall into the bleachers and fall into that.
So they were folding it up. Mm-hmm. So I come back from the restroom, not knowing it's been folded up and just mentally, I'm like, I'm just gonna walk up these stairs. Yeah. And I missed that step cause it was not there and I was so twisted up in my head. And so the team was right here. Like where I'm walking up, juicy was one of them.
We also had Ban Anthony. All of them were right here. Jackson and Brian were kind of further away, thank goodness. Cause they already wanted this on me. But I'm walking up and I had like a bottle of water or something in my hand and I don't know. And my hands were full. Yeah. And I [00:44:00] didn't wanna drop anything.
But I couldn't like stop myself and the, it was in slow motion and it was like, no. And the kids were, after it happened, they were like, we didn't know what to do cuz it was so slow. We kept thinking you were gonna stop. And I was like, and so finally like, I felt myself like over the halfway threshold of fallen and I just let myself kind of melt and slide down the stairs.
But anyway, when I did that, I cut my finger. So now it's like I have altered fingerprints for when I commit crimes. Oh gosh. Yeah. So anyway, it's very, very sore. Have you ever had your fingerprints taken? I don't. I'm sure I have at some point. What? Well, they used to do that thing in school. Oh. Well, they would come and fingerprint you.
I know. Yeah. Do they? But like, it's not like fingerprints, it like, like the ink anymore. It's all digital. Yeah. I mean, not that I've had 'em done, but like yeah, that's, but that was for like, um, like the police would come Yeah. Like when you were a little Yeah. And get you like kidnapped. Yeah. This is one of those episodes in it where we just saw that same thing.
Um, but I [00:45:00] remember my mom used to keep that like taped to the inside of the kitchen cabinet. Really? Yeah. Yeah. But anyway, so it won't work anymore if anybody still has them because that better. Yeah, the whole side of my thumb is gone. Ugh. I know. I'm sorry. That's graphic. My bad. But anyway, so when I went to pick up the book, I touched something and it was just painful.
So see, you got to witness first hand. How are react? Good Lord. So next book is I see you. Yes. Oh, and what, um, State. Yeah. Um, all right. So you wanna do Alabama? Yeah. Okay. Let's stay south. Yeah. There's some Josies. I feel like we're getting a lot of good stuff. Oh, do you wanna start the, the stupid laws? Oh, I forgot about that.
I do too, so, okay. Yeah. So we'll do a dumb crime and a stupid law from, oh my gosh. I bet the stupid laws in Alabama are something serious. Yeah. I, okay. Yeah. So, all right. So, stupid law. Stupid crime. [00:46:00] And. I see you by Claire McIntosh. Yeah, I just started reading this one, so, okay. Oh, and I did download that app, um, hoopla.
Yeah. Did you find your, um, I did. You know how I found it though is because I still had, I'm okay. You know, like there's like two types of people in the world and there's one, one that like. Has like concurrent emails? Yes. And then one that has like 45,000 emails. Oh, I'm on the other end. I am the 45,000 email girl.
Actually, it's probably more like 125,000. Oh my gosh. So you were just able to search and I searched, uh, York County Library and my library number was still in there. Yeah. It from the last time out. Find it from the last time you couldn't find it. Well, um, I actually reserved it on one of those apps. I don't know, but I think there's a wedding list.
Yes. I, well, I, I reserved it, um, because I read at night, like on my phone. Yeah, yeah. Um, so I love reading a book, but I can't do that in bed. Yeah. Cause I, you know, the light and that's just like my Kindle is a little backlight on it. [00:47:00] Yeah. But when you. Read on your phone, do you, um, do you use that as your alarm to wake up the next day?
Uhhuh. See, I'm scared. I'm just gonna fall asleep and sleep on my phone and sleep through the alarm. Oh. Like, I won't think to put my phone over on the nightstand. No, it's usually just like on my bed, like, yeah. Next to me. No, I'll give you something to worry about. Yeah. No, you're, you're, um, you're a c I wake up I think naturally, like at six o'clock anyway every morning.
Like, it's just if I don't wake up at five 15 when my alarm is set. Yeah. Like, I generally don't sleep at six. You're such a early, you're an early bird. I do. I work so much bad. I like, I'm a so much more productive in the morning. In the morning, um, like after five o'clock, like I'm worthless to work. I still do it.
Right. But it just takes a lot more out of me to focus. Yeah. Um, I'd rather get up before everything else. Get, get going. Yeah. Early bird, all that jazz. I'd like to get it out of the way. Yeah. And be able to relax in the afternoon. Nice. I don't relax ever. I'm No, you don't. You don't. But you could because your work was done.
[00:48:00] But it's never done. It's never done. Yeah. Cause you are not, you don't have, but like, I have to make dinner and then walk the dog and, you know, put in laundry or, you know, whatever. Yeah. Um, in the evenings. And so there's not a lot of time to sit on the computer and actually work. Yeah. So if I get up early, I don't go to bed till like 11 every night anyway.
You know, like, I mean, it's, I'm up until 11, the commercial Uhhuh. Oh, I got, I gotta show you the, like, the, the clips that they sent us. Okay. I can't wait to see. Cause I saw, uh, the little video you made mm-hmm. And shared. Um, but I, yeah, I can't wait to see the rest. Um, so they just sent us like a, like a, Compilation, is that what they call it?
Yeah. Um, of the best clips that they took. Are you in there? I am, yeah. Only in a couple of them. It was like, you know, we've tried to focus on the, on like the actual Yes. But it's, yeah. But, um, yeah, so I, couple of them. But it was really cool. Like the stuff that they have, the footage they got, and they're gonna give us all the footage so that we can make different promos and stuff on the pro.
And you sit for whatever you Oh, that's [00:49:00] cool. Yeah. So, um, that it's a lot of footage and yeah. I'm super excited to see you. I can't, can't wait to see what you're gonna share. Yeah, because it looked really cool. The videos that, where'd you share, you share on TikTok? Um, well I shared it like a couple different places, pages, but then I shared it into the group.
Yeah. Our, our, our podcast group. So that was, yeah. Yay. So we'll see. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, this isn't gonna air until like, yeah. After Mother's Day, but Happy Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day.
