ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Jonah chapter four reveals a prophet who was furious that God showed mercy to the people of Nineveh. He knew God's character, could recite it word for word, but refused to let it shape his heart. His anger exposed something deeper: he was feeding resentment instead of the Spirit. Like the older brother in the parable of the prodigal son, Jonah had forgotten what it felt like to be lost. When we forget that grace was never earned, we start to believe others don't deserve what we freely received. Bitterness has to be surrendered, not managed. The grace we have been given is meant to become the grace we give away.

Before God tells Israel what to do, He tells them why, and that reason changes everything. The commands Moses delivers are not restrictions on freedom but protection for f…
The Shema, found in Deuteronomy 6:4-5, is one of the most important declarations in all of Scripture. Jesus called it the greatest commandment, not because it tops a list of rules, but because it captures the entire heart of what it means to follow God. Loving God with all your heart, soul, and str…
