Artie and Hudson continue their journey through The Empty Return.
Tim and Petra have settled in Ellös, Sweden, and Tim has finally retired from the Army. In theory, life should now be quieter.
In practice, Tim was never going to be very good at doing nothing.
Before long he is driving big Volvos across Europe, discovering that retirement looks suspiciously like changing uniforms, and using his truly dreadful attempts at foreign languages to persuade people to speak English instead.
Artie and Hudson take a suitably dry look at Tim and Petra’s new life, and at the point where a supposedly peaceful retirement starts becoming rather more interesting.
