ABOUT THIS EPISODE
October 9, 2026 -
Season 17, Episode 33 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I discuss the Pittsburgh Steelers' Thursday injury report ahead of the team's Week 5 home game against the Indianapolis Colts. We go over the step backwards with WR Michael Pittman Jr. (foot), the step forward of S DeShon Elliott (knee) and RB Rico Dowdle (toe), and how Saturday's transactions should give us better clarity as to what the Steelers' Sunday inactive list might look like.
Steelers HC Mike McCarthy met the media again on Thursday, so Alex and I briefly go over a few things he said during that recent press conference. We also cover a few things that several Steelers' players have said this past week.
With the news of Mike Ditka passing away on Friday morning breaking during this show, Alex and I make sure to pay our respects to him. We also discuss the chances of Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield returning from his injury for the Week 6 game against the Steelers.
With the Week 5 home game against the Colts coming up on Sunday, Alex and I are joined by Nathan Brown, who covers Indianapolis for the Indy Star at indystar.com. Nathan provides his insight into the 2026 Colts ahead of the game and answers several questions we have about the Indianapolis ownership, offense and defense. At the end of our interview, Nathan provides us with a final score prediction for Sunday's game in Pittsburgh.
If you aren't already doing so, please follow Nathan on X at @By_NathanBrown and read his online work here as well.
Following our interview with Nathan, Alex and I provide our own full preview of the Steelers' game against the Colts.
With the rest of Week 5 now close, Alex and I pick the remaining games against the spread. We also provide our final score predictions for the Steelers-Colts game.
This 107-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above, and we end the show by answering several listener emails.
