ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Can a public pastor preach John 3:16 without facing criminal charges? Alan Smith and Jeff Rowland discuss free speech, religious expression, and the rising pressure on Christians to stay silent.
In this episode of The Smith and Rowland Show, the hosts respond to an article about a retired pastor in Northern Ireland who was convicted after an open-air service that included John 3:16. They consider how laws intended to prevent harassment could affect peaceful Christian preaching, and why the distinction between offense and threat matters.
The conversation also looks at street preaching: when it's a genuine call to share the gospel, how a preacher's attitude shapes the message, and why Christians should consider their own actions before criticizing others. Alan and Jeff connect these questions to the church's responsibility to speak, vote, pray, and remain faithful.
They also reflect on spiritual decline in Wales and the need for repentance and revival. Watch for a candid discussion of religious liberty, biblical conviction, public witness, and the hope that God can still move through ordinary people and local communities.
