ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Welcome to the very first episode of The Silly Cinema Club with Jonathan Ball.
In this episode, Jonathan kicks things off with a look at one of the most popular film series of all time, starting with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. From its beginnings as a book to a global film franchise, we explore how it all started.
We then take a look ahead to an upcoming release, previewing the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and what we can expect from Mario’s next big adventure.
Next, we look back at Sonic the Hedgehog 2, a fast-paced and colourful sequel that builds on the success of the first film.
And to round things off, Jonathan shares one of his personal favourite films, Critters — a fun and chaotic 80s sci-fi creature feature that has become a cult classic.
Plus, there’s a short quiz at the end of the episode — with answers revealed next time.
