This week we’re covering some of the biggest stories happening across sports, business, and internet culture.
We break down what’s next for Conor McGregor after another devastating setback and whether we’ve already seen the final chapter of one of the UFC’s biggest superstars. Is there still a path back to the top, or has the sport officially moved on?
Then we dive into Streamer University, the creator event that somehow became more competitive to get into than Harvard, and discuss what that says about the future of content creation, influencer culture, and where young people see opportunity today.
We also take a deep dive into Jerry Colangelo’s bid to bring an NBA expansion team to Las Vegas. From building the Phoenix Suns into one of the NBA’s model franchises to helping land the Arizona Diamondbacks, Colangelo has done this before. We discuss why Las Vegas feels inevitable, what an expansion team could look like, and what it would mean for the league.
Finally, we tell the unbelievable story of Carlos Kaiser—the man who may have pulled off the greatest con in sports history. Over the course of two decades, he convinced 11 professional soccer clubs to sign him despite barely ever playing an official match. Through fake injuries, media manipulation, celebrity friendships, and incredible confidence, he built an entire professional career without the talent to back it up.
