ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Manchester United have had a difficult start to the Premier League season — and the derby defeat to Manchester City has only added to the frustration.
A few days removed from the game, this episode takes a calmer look at what happened at Old Trafford. Was the defeat actually as bad as it felt at the time? How damaging is United’s start to the season, and how much responsibility should fall on Michael Carrick, the players and the club’s summer recruitment?
There’s also a wider look at the issues beginning to emerge in Carrick’s team, what should genuinely concern United supporters and which problems may simply require patience as a new-look squad settles.
Finally, attention turns to the next two games and the response United desperately need. How important is this upcoming run, what needs to change and what would it take to feel like the season is back on track?
