Christopher Brewer: You did. Thank you so much.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: So I know we mentioned it off air, but you're having a nice lazy Labor Day weekend.
Christopher Brewer: I am. It's it's very chill. I just had a very long week and I'm going to California in a couple of weeks, to celebrate my twentieth wedding anniversary. So there's still a lot to do for that. usually the month before October there's like a ton of filming and planning that takes place 'cause they're really involved in the paranormal community here. So just taking a breath before all that starts.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, I'm actually involved with the Comic Con world as well. So
Christopher Brewer: Yeah, me too.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: I've got a Comic Con next weekend. Then I've got one at the beginning of October in Quebec City. And then I'll fly out to Winnipeg at the end of October for another one there.
Christopher Brewer: How many of those do you do a year?
Lee - Paranormal Prism: I do three, which is the three main ones. It's all one company,
Christopher Brewer: Uh-huh.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: but they do have smaller ones. that I don't necessarily go to, but I'm doing four this year. So Quebec City is the first time I've been to that one, but they all speak for it.
Christopher Brewer: Yeah, we do yeah, three three to four a year. like this one we did over the summer, just last summer, there was a X Files cast reunion. So we got to meet Gillian Anderson and David DeCoveney
Lee - Paranormal Prism: wow.
Christopher Brewer: and that was really neat. So it's just neat engaging, you know, with these people that are so inspirational, you know.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: yeah, like say, it's really weird because we deal with so many celebrities, like I don't get fanboyish, I don't get like my mind blown with all these people because at end of the day they're human like we are.
Christopher Brewer: They are, they are.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, and some of them are so down to earth, it's like, and you can have a really good laugh with them. But we're not here to talk about Comic Con. We are here to talk about...
Christopher Brewer: Damn.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, you and your your paranormal journey. So if we can start at the very beginning When did you have your first? paranormal experience
Christopher Brewer: I guess the first one I can think of, you I was born on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and I grew up with tribal beliefs regarding a spirit world and spirits, a belief in different dimensions. there was always messages coming to us from Tunkashila, which is more kind of like a grandfatherly term we apply to the creator. So we didn't need really any kind of validation anytime something happened of a supernatural nature. Whether that was a dream of someone that had died, a prescient dream, something that came true, you know, visits from like certain animals or repetitive appearances of these animals, either in nature or in our dream time. so these are all things we just took very seriously. You know, we knew these were messages that were just for us. but I think when we moved from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation to Denver, the first house we lived in was an old turn of the century house. and we lived in the upper floor. And apparently the tenant prior to us had taken her life in what was my room for some reason. They put me in that room. But she had hung herself in the closet. So, and it was a weird closet. It didn't have a door, it just had like this head, like a thick, almost kind of like a shower curtain. but you could hear this crying, you know, some nights coming out of this closet. And there's a couple occasions where my my mother actually saw like these feet swinging from the bottom of that curtain. So and my father was working a night shift. So it just got really spooky for us. too spooky to live there. But what really made us move was that one day I heard crying coming from downstairs. So I went downstairs to investigate because I wasn't sure if that was my mother, being the only man of the house, even though I was only maybe five, six. but there was a really heavy cellar door and I remember peeking in there and I had my fingers just over li the lip of the cellar. When something took the cover and slammed it shut. So I still have a scar. It ripped up my my finger. And that's how we knew it was just really dangerous. But you know, where we came from, from Pine Ridge, you know, we worked a lot with our ancestors, messages from our ancestors, respecting and venerating our ancestors. So I think that was the first time I ever dealt with a spirit that was violent, like in nature, that didn't want us there for whatever reason. but really my first like paranormal investigation was at age twelve. and my aunt and uncle had bought dining table from this garage sale. and once they moved it into their house, things would move on the table, like the chairs would move out from the table in the middle of the night. already at twelve, I was already reading like Ed and Lorraine Warren because I was really interested in what other cultures had to say about the afterlife and and their how they dealt with spirits. so that was actually my first EVP I recorded. I had one of those big old ghetto blasters. And I recorded
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Ha ha ha.
Christopher Brewer: the sound of a grandfather clock striking, which they didn't have, but it was interesting because the people they purchased the table from had. So just those kinds of experiences. Even my the first apartment I ever lived in in my twenties, the previous tenant had died in respiratory failure. So I'd hear that really heavy breathing. And then there was like a hallway that led from the front door to my bedroom. and in the middle was this loose tile that would pop. Like when you stepped on it, it would pop back up. So sometimes then in the middle of the night I would hear that tile pop and I knew that breathing was coming. But I mean everybody in my family had at least three experiences with spirits or cryptids or you know, experiences from being some like the Star Nation, you know. my my grandfather well, actually my uncle was a reservation cop, Marvin Stolt, and he was a first responder. So he had a lot of experiences with ghosts. They'd see a Sasquatch out there, UFOs, anything you could think of, just driving those dark backroads at night. So he would tell me these stories. So really, my first like bedtime stories or children's stories were all ghost stories because they were all supernatural in nature, but we didn't really consider those things like paranormal or supernatural. that was just part of coexisting with other forms of life in this world.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, and it's interesting that you mentioned that some of your bedtime stories were ghost stories. It's like, yeah, I want to try to make you to go to sleep, but I'm going to scare you before you go to sleep.
Christopher Brewer: Well, I mean, it's some of it was just like, you know, like my grandmother when she was alive, like if the night before someone's wedding, she used to like to go through like all the wedding gifts and the cards and find out who got what from whom. so sometimes the night before someone's wedding, they would find like all the gifts had been rifled through, even though she had passed. Or maybe the night before, like the doorknobs would turn. which, you know, the adults would just say, that's just grandmother, you know, checking in on us. But that was kind horrifying for us kids because we thought, well, what if if we open the door, what what are we gonna see? So just because
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah.
Christopher Brewer: I grew up with spirits and a lot of spirit activity doesn't mean that I never got used to it or that it doesn't scare me. Because I've been to a lot of scary places. I've investigated like Alcatraz, Queen Mary, the USS Hornet, like all the big places. and there's some really dark energy in those places. And even when my my uncle found out I was becoming a paranormal advisor for a lot of these shows. He was really worried because a lot of what he saw on TV was like the kind of the shy sideshow aspect where they're d dramatizing a lot of these things for viewership. As they would, you know, who doesn't like to be afraid? These are our modern ghost stories. but a lot of it just like went too far. and when you were if you were a healer or a medicine man, you know, you weren't allowed in areas where there was a lot of death because there was a fear that you could take on some of that energy and transfer it to like another person. You know, it's one thing to clear a house. of a haunting, but you know, if that makes it into your dream time and your dream time is kind of manifested with a spirit activity, you know, how do you get rid of that when it's attached that deeply to you? So that's something you had to be very careful about and very respectful of.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, I like what you've just said, because when I was a kid, I'm just a couple of years old, older than yourself, one or two. And it was kind of a forbidden subject. Back in the day, you didn't mention UFOs, you didn't mention any creatures, the word cryptid didn't really exist.
Christopher Brewer: Yeah.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: And you didn't really mention ghosts and spirits. with your your upbringing and your tribal beliefs, it was kind of encouraged because of the way that your ancestors passed down all the knowledge. So it was kind of encouraged. So it was a second nature to you. So I know you mentioned it a few minutes ago, but to find out that kind of like our culture was completely different to yours, how was that kind of How did you come across that and how did it kind of develop your understanding?
Christopher Brewer: I was a really weird lonely kid. believe it or not, like in my elementary school library, we had a cult section. So that's where I found like the Ed and Lorraine Warren books, Lauren Coleman, a lot of information about the Cryp Cryptids, Hans Holtzer. really great people in this in this field that just were really inspiring and taught me a lot about how to interact with spirits. You know, we had our own. way of dealing with hauntings, which was, you know, burning sage, sweeter sweetgrass, to just really restore balance. It's not like this kind of spiritual febreze. It just restores balance. and then you have like you know, sometimes you would have to maybe take a plate of food, and and move it outside of the house to draw that spirit out, or maybe th like even cigarettes, just things that that spirit was attached to, you know, those earthly attachments or desires. because we had a really Like one of the first hauntings we experienced was my aunt Vi. And she had died in this horrific car crash. but at the last minute she had switched seats with my other aunt, Rose. So my my aunt Rose was she was kind of like the main focal point of these really aggressive, violent hauntings where curlers were ripped out of her hair, her clothes were torn. the guy that was driving the car, my uncle Lane, he couldn't go to the funeral because he was so just grief stricken over this. And apparently the, you know, he was working on his car in the garage the day of the funeral. and it was the evening and he saw Vi walking down the street. So he ran and called my aunt, Rose, and he's like, Vi, I you know, Vi's walking down the street. She's almost at the house and she's like, Well what is she wearing? And he's like, Well she's wearing this pink dress and apparently that was the dress that she was buried in. So she wouldn't leave. She had the power to cause this, like if they the family went to the store, they had a hard time finding their way back into the neighborhood, into the house. or sometimes when they knew they turned off all of the lights, only her light would be on when they came, you know, back to the house. So that was one of the ways they had to get rid of her spirit was to bring her favorite foods out of the home and then burn all of her clothing. so when I when we moved to Denver, like, you know, a lot of these kids, they just thought I was a word person for all of my books and my beliefs. So it's not something that we could really talk about until like, what was it, like nineteen eighty, nineteen eighty two, Steven Spielberg's poltergeist came out. And that was such an important movie for us because that really started a dialogue between other families as far as different hauntings and and things of a supernatural nature. so we're so grateful for that movie because it did that's when our other neighbors started opening up. We lived in an older neighborhood and there was a lot of hauntings in the neighborhood. So, but it was just really something that we kept to ourselves, you know. we didn't want to be like the weird family on the corner, even though we kind of were. So even with like in relationships, that's something I just kind of kept quiet about. You know, there was things like sweat lodges, sundances, which are just powwows, which are such a huge thing now. But back then it was still more of kind of like a novelty. So you know, even still today, like a lot of people go to like sweat lodges which aren't really governed by like elders or there's there's a process and a certain ceremony that goes hand in hand with these things. if you really want to have the the proper effect of of these things. And a lot of them are just kind of done willy-nilly or, you know, they're like paid experiences, VIP. I've seen like VIP sweat lodges. So those things we just kind of look look down on. but yeah.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, yeah. And it's, yeah, it's, find it really interesting that anybody who's got kind of like, and I'm, I don't want to say the wrong word because I'm a bit, I'm from England, I'm a bit naive, but like an indigenous background, they, they understand spirits from the get go and they communicate with the spirits, they work with the spirits, they like to help the spirits. But when you look at my kind of upbringing and then you have the mediums and the psychic mediums and they say that anybody can be a psychic medium. And I mentioned it a few minutes ago where it's kind of part and parcel of your upbringing. But do you kind of treat yourself like you've got mediumistic skills or is this just something that's like enveloped into your upbringing? If that makes sense.
Christopher Brewer: I do. I mean, obviously, you know, a lot of you know, I come from I'm a descendant of Makes the Song, and he was a Lakota warrior whose grandson grandson was Crazy Horse, Lakota Sioux war leader. they were both they both got a lot of visions, which they exp you know, they they fully accepted. They trusted in all of their interactions with the divine. You know, we're always asking for help. but a lot of times when the help comes to us, we either dismiss it because of self-worth issues or because, those things don't happen. You know, how many times have we chastised ourselves because we said, I knew I should have turned left? I knew I should have locked my door, brought my phone, whatever that is, that inner voice we get so used to dismissing. You know, even that feeling that we have when we know we're being observed, when someone's watching us, what do we think that is? That's a sixth sense. We come into this earth, into this world with these abilities. which we slowly forget or let the world around us kind of like take away. but in my culture, those are things we honored and valued and celebrated and were grateful for. So I've always had even like in high school, I remember so when I thought it was so cool that like in the eighties that poltergeist too got a sequel. and I remember Carolyn, there's the scene in the movie where Carolyn is her grandmother's asking her to get her like a ball of yarn. So she reaches for that exact color without even looking and hands it to her grandmother. And she asks her to do it again. So she does the same thing, grabs the exact color without looking and gives it to her. So I used to do this exercise where I'd pour a handful of like MMs like into my hand. And I would not look at it and I pick one up and I try to guess the color. So if I got the color right, I could eat the MM. If not, it went back to the bag. I'd shuffle it around and repeat the process. And I remember one time when I came back from school. long day high school was my senior year. And I just remember staring in shock at my empty hand because I had correctly guessed every single color of that bag. and it's easier when you're just you're not thinking about it. It's just you're not plugged into like expectation or all these other things. It's just you're in present time. And that's a part of our culture too is really being present in the earth. And you know when you think about it like a lot of people aren't really here. You know, we're thinking about what we want to do next, what we want to say next. We're always processing something, or we're thinking about the past, what we could have done, should have done. So it's really hard for people to be here. And I that's something I see on the road every single day, how people can't stand to be behind a car for more than ten, twenty seconds or be at a light, or even a line in a grocery store. People freak out. there's I mean, granted, this is the age of entitlement, but I see people more and more losing their ability to stay in present time. Which is where the messages are, which is where your prana, your life force comes in the strongest. so I think for us too, that was a big part of it, just being able to sit in that stillness and that space with Tunkashila or even if we had a dream of a a spirit, you know, someone that had passed away, we took that as seriously as if that was a physical vet visitation. Because for us, believing in different dimensions, we believe like the land of Wanagi Makoche. which was the land of the spirits, lied r just beneath the world of our dream time, which was really sacred to us. That's where we got of our book, the book of our visions and messages. so because that was such a thin veil membrane, whatever you want to call it, it was really easy for spirits to pass through there and grant us messages. because sometimes it took a little more power for them to appear to us, you know, in this reality. So All of those things. we just took very serious I forgot what your original question was, but I I tend to meander 'cause I have so much information coming at me, but
Lee - Paranormal Prism: That is absolutely fine. I do that all the time. I ask a question and then go, I can't remember what I asked. But anyway, we'll move. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Christopher Brewer: yes, but regarding like the medium ship and stuff like that. so yeah, I mean we have people that do have dreams and visions all the time. Like my aunt was she was very intuitive anyway. And like in January of nineteen eighty six, she had a really bad dream of the space shuttle challenger exploding. So she actually had to spend the night with us. And I remember the next day when that actually happened, that scared her so much that she kind of just turned that off. You know, she just she didn't want to see what was coming. She didn't want to see any of those things. So it can be kind of scary, you know. And sometimes I've had dreams or visions that were just very disturbing, you know. So you have to develop kind of like a filter, you know, only that which is for the highest good, which is the most healing and loving, be allowed to communicate with me. Anything dark or negative or malevolent just simply isn't a part of my experience. It's just like, you know, there's a lot of people saying that they're empath empathic now. Which is a reality. I think people are tuning in more. But it's just, it's not enough to just say, Yeah, I'm an empath. I'm really sensitive to energy. You know, you've got to know how you've got to have that filter. You've got to know how to kind of filter out all those different energies, how to ground yourself, how to protect yourself. So you're not just in a puddle of tears or sweat, like at the end of the day. You know, I think especially now with AI, you know, with this horethic flood that happened in Nepal, you know, I've seen so many videos coming through on YouTube. And I was finding out a lot of those were actually AI generated. And I had no idea. Like AI is getting so sophisticated now that it's hard to really see what's real and what's fake. it used to be like the fingers, they got the fingers and hands kind of weird. Now you just don't know. And now there's a lot of fake news and everything anyway. But so I think it's forcing people to be more discerning. And I think it's it's a good thing because it's gonna be pushing people more to see things through their third eye and use a a higher kind of perception regarding their own inner truth, you know, and not letting other people determine what their what their reality should be.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah. And it's interesting that you mention AI because I say I do follow quite a few Facebook pages and sort of like that. And the amount of photographs or the amount of videos, like you say, are so AI manipulated.
Christopher Brewer: Yeah.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: And I can take a photograph of you now. And then in 30 seconds, I've got a dancing Chris. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. And
Christopher Brewer: Or porno.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: it's getting that bad that I just kind of like switch off to it. It's sort of like, yeah, that's probably AI I generated. But with your upbringing, how did your kind of personal beliefs develop to the point where you thought, well, I kind of want to make a career out of this?
Christopher Brewer: I think so I always wanted to live in a did you ever watch like Northern Exposure? Do you remember that show?
Lee - Paranormal Prism: I've probably seen, I know the show, I don't recall seeing that episode.
Christopher Brewer: Yeah, it was just this community that lived in Sicily, Alaska, this really charming mountain town, or even a town like Twin Peaks. I always wanted to live in an area like that. So I moved to Manitou Springs, which is at the base of Pikes Peak here in Colorado Springs, where America of the Beautiful was written. a lot of history here. Gold Rush was a lot of gold rush history. So like Pikes Peak or Bust was their motto. You know, a lot of them went bust. a lot of tuberculosis hospitals here or sanitariums. because the the high altitude and the fresh mountain air was believed to help, you know, with the tuberculosis. But a lot of people died. You know, that was like a third lady leading cause of death here or anywhere during that time. So a lot of spirits here, a lot of hauntings. So I was just really drawn to this place. and I started working at a spiritual living store. So a place that sold like sage and candles and crystals and had classes on meditation. So immediately I just got really tapped into the spiritual community here, like weekends, just finding out what other people's beliefs were, their ceremony and ritual, their superstitions. So I've actually been there for the last like 16 years, really involved in the community, classes, teaching classes. so ask your question again.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: How did your upbringing move you towards your career of doing
Christopher Brewer: yes.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: all this?
Christopher Brewer: So what I was what I already believed, and you know, the ceremonies, rituals, whatever you want to call them, I was already participating in. These are already aligned with the store. and I was meeting people too that were coming into the store because they needed help with clearing their house of a spirit, or maybe, you know, it's just it's really weird this this last week. I'm having these weird thoughts or I'm craving foods that I don't crave, or so they believe they picked up like a spirit attachment. You know, and now there's so many shows that are saying, well, this is a demon, this is a skinwalker, this is a malevolent shadow person. So it's gotta be negative, right? Because it's all negative. so now you have the cases are more extreme in like a nature. So when I go out and I maybe clear in a a house for somebody, you know, a lot of that is just spent with them trying to ch adjust their vocabulary and their mindset, their thought forms, so they're not so negative and dispelling a lot of inform misinformation about a lot of hauntings. So I think that's where I really got involved in the paranormal community of this area and Denver. and then I think it was about like 2012 while I was in in Manitou, I was hearing about this one one of my Dene friends, Navajo, he owned this store called All My Relations Creations. and it wasn't too far from a cavern cavernous system here known as Cave of the Winds. Which the Utes of the area believed was the entrance to the underworld, which my friend had confirmed. He's like, no, they really believe that there's a portal there. Like portals are another kind of like big buzzword now in the industry. But this I ended up going in 2012 with maybe the expectation that I could communicate with some of the spirits there and find out: okay, are these elemental spirits? Are these spirits of the original caretakers? You know, what's happening here? And we got all of these amazing pictures, which are on my website, which is thespiritchasers.com. But somehow these pictures made it to the desk of a producer in LA who was he worked for the biography channel and he was doing this show called My Ghost Story. so he invited me and my roommate out to film interview segments about our experiences in this cave. And then sent and then we went back home and then he sent a cameraman from LA to film us in the cave. So we got to meet like the owner's son. like a lot of the staff members there who all had these really incredible experiences. so we filmed from like noon to like 9 p.m. We were underground in this cave. And we actually got more pictures that time when we went back, but like EVPs of a woman that kept coming to us when there was no one else around us. It was just me, my roommate, and the cameraman. So just from there, you know, someone saw the show and then, you know, okay, do you want to be on like most terrifying places in America? And then I involved got involved with this Canadian production company and then just got a lot of invites back. but it was just really being involved in in the community, being respectful. just if I started to p maybe kind of lose my way or if I was involved with like a investigation that was getting a little too over the top, just really remembering me remembering what inspired me in the first place and people like, you know, Hans Holtzer, Ed Lauraine Warren, my own ancestors, Crazy Horse, et cetera. Whose path it was, you know, to interact. Because now we're in such like an influencer culture and people need so much val validation. look at me. I'm in this haunted place and look what I have, look what I'm doing, looky-lookie-looky. So it's kind of like more the the Bart Simpson school of charm than it is about having those kind of disciplines. because I've been doing this for over 20 years, you know, here, but really I've been doing it. all of my life. You know, again, my first investigation was at age 12 and I'm fifty fifty-three now. So that's that's a long time, you know. So we're not these people that just kind of go out with a camera and do these live st and that's another thing because I see nothing against it, but I s and nothing against influencers. But I see a lot of people doing live streams on these investigations. and a lot of it's for clicks, likes, new followers, whatever it is. So the intention isn't really authentic contact with spirits. Maybe it is to a degree, but it's really more about getting all those followers and all of that social media engagement. and sometimes I've been too been invited to investigations where, okay, if it's if and if nothing's happening by like one, two o'clock, deadtime, whatever, then they start making things up. and that's usually when I'm kind of gone. So
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, yeah, and yeah, I like what you say because if I speak to somebody and they think that they've got some kind of paranormal activity, I will explain what EMF is and that EMF
Christopher Brewer: Yeah, yes.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: can cause hallucinations. I'll talk about black mold. I'll talk about, do you have any rodent issues and all that kind of stuff? So you kind of... You rule out the natural before you speak about the paranormal and the supernatural. Because people don't understand about electromagnetic fields that if you've got bad wiring and it's bad enough, it can cause hallucinations. And people just don't understand that. And
Christopher Brewer: It can. Yeah.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: yeah, I love it how you can go to a public event and people go, I don't believe in this paranormal stuff. And then they go, but this one time.
Christopher Brewer: Ha ha.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: And then they come out with a story and you go, well, it could be paranormal, but you've always got to look towards what it could be and try and debunk everything that you can. then what,
Christopher Brewer: You really have to
Lee - Paranormal Prism: yeah. And if I even get an EVP, I've got a couple of really good friends that I can send the EVP to and they will actually break it down into even voice waves and go like, this is your voice wave, this is mine. Yeah, and this is what you recorded. So if people go, well, that's AI or that's fake, you can go, no, I've actually got the evidence here to say that it's not. Yeah. And they, they will say, well, that video wasn't doctored. The video, you didn't add anything to the video. And that's important when you do these investigations that you've got to be true to yourself. Yeah. Like you mentioned about some of these TV shows, yeah, potentially. the producer could go, well, could you get the ghost to do that again? Because we didn't quite get the the right photography angle, but that's not how it works.
Christopher Brewer: Yeah, when we went into the cave, we were fascinated. and so the producer got back to us, well, can you say you were terrified or this was just a really bad thing? Or it was like, Well, no, not really, that wasn't our experience. so what they then were doing was then they were asking us, Okay, well, tell us about your favorite you know, scary movie. What happened in that movie? And I thought, why do they need all this stuff? I just thought it was B-roll. I was really naive back then in 2012, regarding anyway, what they did was when the program aired, was so they would ask us, okay, what happened in these caves? And I was like, Well, there was dark forces and you know that, but those were the answers that were applied to like the scary movies and stuff like that. So that was the first time I really saw the kind of manipulation that's that's kind of done. You know, and it's just it is what it is. You know, it's it's Hollywood, it's it's just that entertainment value, you know, it's for entertainment purposes only. that's one thing people have to keep in mind when they watch these shows. I'm sure there's some element of truth, but again for ratings, we like being scared. You know, these are our modern ghost stories. So these are going to be blown so over the top. Where I live here in co old Colorado City, you know, we live near where all the old saloons and brothels used to be from the Wild West and the Gold Rush days. so a lot of these are really old buildings. You know, the house I work in is like from nineteen five. So lots of creaks, groans, like all of those things. certainly a lot of spirit activity, but a lot of this, even this place I used to live across the street from, the Briarhurst Hotel, was featured on an episode of Ghost Hunters. And this woman swore up and down they had a a wall that bled, real blood. So of course Jason and them, you know, their plumbers that went and tested it and it was just rust. It was rust that was coming down from this wall. But just those things, I think people that watch these shows now where these things are so intense and malevolent, it really puts them in this framework, this mindset, where they they're just they're paranoid. It sets in this paranoia and this fear. And I think it's really hard to get out of that space. So when you watch these shows and it's in the middle of the night and you hear a creak or a groan, it's a demon, it's the shadow man, it's It's a skinwalker on my roof, whatever that is. So that's something I I have to dispel where I work too, because I get all these people that watch all the shows, and a lot of these shows they watch I am involved with, you know, because I'm the person that comes on, okay, this is what's the what this is what kind of spirit I think they're interacting with. this these are the reasons in the environment, whether it's like crystal, like quartz, granite, limestone, water. different ways that can influence a haunting or preserve or release that emotional memory, whatever that is. So I try to be more like the voice of reason. but again, once you sign off your little contract, you have no control, just like back in 2012 over what they're going to do with that, how they're going to use it. And they're usually just going to take out the scariest bits because that's just what these shows are about for the most part right now.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: I remember going to a location near Toronto and the place we stayed at the owner's going this is a really haunted location and I'm going like okay and I've got the trifield because a lot of the equipment that I use has to be used every day in the construction industry like say like a trifield and stuff like that And she goes, yeah, all the other teams here have a lot of activity on the dining room table. And we're on the third floor. So I go, well, what's below us? She goes, it's an identical apartment. And my trifield's going off the scale. I'm thinking, that's a bit
Christopher Brewer: Yeah.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: weird. So after she left, I put it on the floor. it was going like, and I
Christopher Brewer: I bet.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: thought, yeah, thought, yeah, this is faulty wiring. This has got nothing to do with paranormal. And like the EMF was that strong. then there was, she mentioned about the lounge being really like active, try field on the wall, going really strong again, you walk around into the kitchen and there's a big electric power box on the wall. So it's like, yeah, it's old wiring that's giving off electromagnetic fields. A lot of the activity that people are getting can be debunked quite easily, but that is creating her business. So I'm not going to stand up to her and go, I'm sorry, your place is not haunted because she has to make money. there may be some genuine activity, but unfortunately, until you get your lighting or electrical fixed, you're still going to have the same problem.
Christopher Brewer: Yeah. We're just we're very respectful to regarding people and and the experiences they claim to have, you know. I mean, as a Native American, I might say everything's haunted because we do believe that there's a spirit of water, of wind, of the earth, of fire, you know, that there's elemental spirits, that there's animal spirits. So anywhere you go, I'm sure it was a a former burial site somewhere. but That said, it's I remember one time we went to a paranormal convention in Cripple Creek, which is this old mining town here. Again, a lot of gold rush ghosts. And this woman was giving a presentation. And her her deal was she believed that she could photograph the holy, I think it was called the holy fire of our Archangel Michael. So she said she would see his flaming sword. and like she would call on him when she needed help like vanquishing demons or whatever this was. Some very interesting stories. So she had all these pictures set up in this room of this what looked like this fiery light. and she swore up and down these were real. These weren't, you know, manufactured in any way. but there was another one investigation team there. And they were just their their whole thing was like, you know, our middle name is about debunking, you know, they're just wanted to debunk everything, which is fine. But it's You still don't want to kind of take that ex like with with you with the woman, you know, that you don't want to take that experience away from them. That's their right to have that experience with the perception, with a lens that they saw through, whatever that is, if that's not if you're not alighting with that, you know, then you don't have to take it away. And what they did was, apparently when she was taking pictures, she had like long red hair. So her hair was blowing in front of the camera lens. And when she took the flash, it would brighten the the red hair and it would look like just like fire. So when they said, that's not Archangel Michaels fire, that's your hair. Look, let's take a picture, let's debunk this. And just the look on her face. It's just so that for so for the next two days, she was gone. All of her pictures were gone. And she I was just like, she was just so crushed. And I knew what it was looking at these pictures. You know, I would have got that eventually. But it's just so that's why we don't try to take an experience away from another person. Yeah, maybe if your walls are, you know, that you say they're bleeding. You know, you might test that, make sure that's not rust first. But beyond that,
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, exactly.
Christopher Brewer: it's just you know, we weren't there, so we don't know what really happened. You know, I'm sure maybe she really was aligned and connected with Archangel Michael, I have no doubt. but the pictures were were another story. It's just, so we try to be just as respectful for for the people too, you know, and let them have whatever their experience that they're entitled to. Because I've had more than a few that you know, one time I I woke up from a dream. And there was all these flashing turquoise symbols like petroglyphs in front of me. I had no idea what it was. your first reaction is always to kind of protect yourself. So it was a very kind of I threw a pillow at it and it disappeared. So someone might say, No, you were on drugs, or that was just dream residue. That didn't really happen. But I remember that happening. I still remember these these symbols. So we just we try not to take an experience away from another person. But Even regarding the tools, you know, you're talking about these tools. It's there's a lot of investigations we go to now that aren't it's just sitting in a room. You know, I was so excited because I was going to this I got invited to this investigation at this old saloon from the ghost hunting days or the gold rush days. The exact saloon, nothing was changed. a lot of activity, you know, so these gla bar glasses move, chairs spin, all of these things. So we get in there. And it's the whole thing is about sitting on your butt for 45 minutes. You're not allowed to make a noise while they're they've got the ovulus or the ghost boxes going, whatever this is. did you just hear Shirley? No, I heard Curly. No, I heard Surly. So see, it's malevolent. It's malevolent now. All this BS. And then back then it was like the they would do the flashlight game where you'd like un un unscrew a flashlight till the the connection was barely touching. So It was believed a spirit could manipulate that light. So they'd have these flashlights everywhere and you couldn't move because your vibration would set off the flashlight. So it's just like, you know, I grew up reading these books, Hans Holzer and all these wonderful ghost stories where and even like the in like seventies, eighties, like all of that great eighty t eighties TV, like Incredible Hulk or Bionic Woman or Nightwriter or whatever these th they all had this like paranormal haunted episode, Charlie's Angels, where they were in a haunted house or whatever. And all these shows that they have the exact same elements. So there was always like a swinging chandelier. That's why I have a l live with a chandelier here. Billowing curtains, like flickering candles, all these wonderful elements, like this lightning storm going on outside with these really spooky oil paintings being illuminated by like flashes of lightning. so I thought I can't wait till I grow up and I get to get into these haunted houses and do this for a living. And now you're just kind of sitting on this floor in the dark, looking at blinking lights and That's all it is, is just these blinking lights. so it's just yeah, and when you think about it too, it's like, you know, things people are doing now, with like infrared cameras, full spectrum cameras, having the ability to kind of like see through the veil, see beyond the infrared, and to capture recordings of maybe voices or things that happened hundreds of years ago, these are things that took in my culture, medicine men, years and years to learn, even saints and mystics. with the most strictest disciplines. and now people are just doing it like that. and for what? You know, what are what are they really learning or how what are they getting from this experience now that they these tools can do so much and really refine or define where this energy is, what it's coming from. so it's just it's just a very different time. You know, I I I still have a lot of fun when we go out. I've had a lot of fun on on you know, a lot of my investigations. It's just it's very different from what I envisioned it when I was twelve years old and and reading these books in the occult section of my elementary school library.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah. So let's talk about some of your locations, because I know you mentioned a couple of places before we came on air. So I believe you mentioned that you've been to Alcatraz.
Christopher Brewer: Yeah. Yeah, that was really heavy. so we did a
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Tell me about that or I'll...
Christopher Brewer: a night investigation. So and I'd actually never been on a boat before. I love swimming. I just I've never been on a boat like of that size. And it was just the ferry. and San Francisco was amazing. we stayed at the San Remo, which at one time was an old brothel. So on our walls they had these frame pictures of the gloves that actually belong to like the madams and the girls that work there. so the the girls, the ghosts of the girls were said to like pull the covers down if you were like a male staying there. very amorous spirits. I didn't experience any of that. but it was just neat. It's just like walking into a ghost story, is what I loved about Elcatraz, because you're walking into you actually have to cross this this sea, you know, to get to this island. and it was very heavy. I was so excited and then I I think I was a little disoriented because of the boat, a little seasick. And then so we landed, well, we got there, and immediately the energy is so oppressive because you know, others might call it empath, but I've always been plugged into energy, emotional energy, mental energy, whatever that is. So immediately I felt this need for escape, you know, the the energy of imprisonment, of not being able to do what you want to do. to follow your own path. Just so much restriction. And even like the way the water sounded as as it was hitting these docks, this weird creaky sound with the water. it was just it just really took me off guard. So then we actually get into the actual 'cause we got to walk all the way around the island. And then we get into the actual cells and they put us into solitary confinement. Just throw us in there and turn off the lights. And I'm just kind of like backing against the wall. and I remember being I had this really sharp pain in my side and I'm just I just remember just kind of wincing and doubling over. And I thought, well, this isn't gas. So what is this? And we come out later and we go around a corner and there's this whole display of items that were used during like the the for shanks, you know, that these items that we'd use to create to stab each other. So I think that was maybe like this leftover sensation that was recorded in these walls, whatever that was. But it was just I w it was so heavy and so oppressive and so depressing that I actually couldn't wait till we got to like the bright brightly lit like gifts gift shop, you know, and then I kind of perked up again. But when we when I went to bed that night in the San Remo, expecting these ghost women to pull the covers off my sheet, I just kept feeling the waves of that place and then the the sound of that water hitting this you know the dock. And then just a feeling of like desperation and people that had drowned there. And it was just really dark. It's not something I would want to go back, but it's not something I would I don't know. it I mean it was October too, just like you know, a lot of people believe that the veil is more thin during that time. We have like a similar belief where it's easier for spirits to kind of cross that threshold or you know, to to inform you more. And that was certainly the case. It was just I think it was a week before a Halloween when we went. but I just remember I just felt, you know, even like two days afterwards when we were then it was like this whole paranormal road trip. So then we went to like Winchester Mystery House and the USS Hornet. And I remember feeling like I still had to clear all of the stuff off me and I didn't have my sage or, you know, things like Selenite. You know, we also use things from the natural world to take those energies off of us. I didn't have any of those things. So I just yeah, well by the time I got home, I was just exhausted. And I think it was just tapping in because when we I talk about being in present time, but when you're going trying to go back into like a time you're what you're really trying to resonate with you know, really lock into the resonant energies of that that that vibration, that that time period, whatever that is. So people might do like trigger trigger objects like cards or whiskey if you're in this old saloon, whatever that is. but I used to do this meditation where I would imagine like like when you peel a fruit roll-up off like a wax paper. Okay, that's one year or that's a decade. And I would just go into my mind and go back year by year by year to like and hear that music they used to listen to, see the way they used to dress, all of those things. So every time we went to a different location, Queen Mary, whatever that was, I had to go back. I had to get out of present time. And that can be a really hard thing when you've got cameras going, equipment, all of these things to not only put yourself and keep yourself in present time, but to go backward too and really communicate with a spirit that might not know that they're they might still think that they're in that time period, you know, that that's still where they're at. If it is an intelligent spirit, because a lot of times it is, you know, residual. but that was just a really exhausting trip. You know, I I would go back, but I think I would approach it maybe a different way.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, and you mentioned on how powerful Alcatraz can be, but then you go to the Winchester house and that's just one weird location that if you step in the wrong direction, you're going to like fall through the floor or something like that. So
Christopher Brewer: Yes.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: how did that compare to obviously the heaviness of Alcatraz compared to the lunacy of the Winchester house?
Christopher Brewer: Winchester was so much fun because there was so much we you know we we all tap into different kinds of spirit or spirit animals. so if you're maybe your favorite animal is an owl, you're part of the owl nation. So I'm part of bear and bat, you know, that that kind of they they watch over you, they protect you. But there's also different spirits that inform you, which, you know, you might refer to as like maybe like an archetype. So my my primary arch archetype is that of the the pueriternis, the eternal child that's always a boy. So so in a place like the Winchester with all these rooms and some rooms that just go outside and if you step through them, you're dead, or rooms that go down into another level, or it's like Meow Wolf, you know. But so now you have so it was just so there was so much wonder there. I was kind of tapped into the spirit of Sarah Winchester, but I it was more I I didn't like how they you know, because you have like some people that go through there and they're like narrators and they tell you the history, what happened to this room. This was her sans room, whatever this was. But they all, you know, a lot of them were saying how bizarre she was look how bizarre this room is. There's like 13 panels or 13 candles, whatever this was. And I was just like, I don't feel that she was bizarre. I think she was very misunderstood, coming from, you know, being like a kid. That was misunderstood. I think I really just really related to to this woman and her her grief over losing losing her husband and losing her child at a very young age, and then just this extreme guilt that she really felt that she was being haunted by all of the people that had died from Winchester Rifles, a lot of Native Americans too, which she was a hair to, like the Winchester fortune. So there was that, but it was also just neat to run around. It's like having, you know, we take our dreams so seriously. So when we dream, it's more sacred dreaming. Because again, we walk watch out for those messages. But it was like a dream and that it's like this, you have this mansion with all these dreams that you get to run through. You know, they wouldn't let us run. You get to go through and explore. And so it was like for me, it was like a dream, like walking through like this dream world and everything is so well preserved and You know, true that you want to get to rooms that were closed off, that they've that have been closed off since like the the San Francisco earthquake of the 1900s. so there were some things that weren't accessible, but it was just night and day c experience compared to Alcatraz. You know, the one I really liked was because not far from Winchester was the USS Hornet. And those, my gosh, that that is such an active ship. And the the docents and the people that care for the ship. All have experiences with seeing sailors that are transparent or this weird phenomenon, which I was actually more interested in this phenomenon than I was in the supernatural phenomenon, which was they see St. Emul's fire there sometimes, which is that weird plasma that forms in corners and on points of metal. And they'll they'll just see this blue plasma sometimes moving around the ship, which I thought was fascinating. We didn't get to see that, unfortunately. But next time we go back, we're gonna actually spend the night there. 'Cause they say sometimes when you spend the night, you see these things. but that ship was so alive. And I think too, a lot of people that were in that ship, worked for that ship, these sailors, had so much pride in what they do. They were happy doing what they did for their country, for their family. So, so you see a lot of those spirits that aren't scary. They're just still there going at their job, you know, still. And I just I thought that was so fascinating. And that the Dawsons and the people there, the Docents, had such a respect for the ship. And for what the people there were doing. It was a risk reconnaissance ship for like the Apollo What twelve. So it was actually the boat, the the ship that went and got the capsule out of the sea and it was involved in all these like secret missions too. So it was just a a very fascinating place. And then you're surrounded by by the water too. So you have all of these elements just kind of keeping these hauntings alive. but definitely an experience where you really feel like you're walking into a ghost story and watching it just With all these stories you're just listening to it unfold around you. Fascinating.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: And I think that you write in what you just said about that is what makes a place haunted is a lot of the history, a lot of the stories and the experiences that people encounter. But is there a location that you've been to that you would not go back to?
Christopher Brewer: there's this place called third bridge. Well, it's called Devil Devil's Perch or Devil's Bridge here. for some reason, it's just you know, like we believe a Sioux, there's places of the earth that are very vibrant, full of a life force, like a lot of very lush vegetation, like a lot of animals. And then there's places where it are very it's almost like in Star Wars, you have l areas that are like. rich with the dark side or the light side of the force. So this was a very dark sided place. It was a place where there was a lot of suicides. There was like a lynching tree there. So a lot of hangings done in this tree, a lot of crime there. But it just attracted a lot of this really dark stuff. And we went one time, it was me and two other people. And whatever this was, it had this it had the power to snap branches and throw them at us. So there was no one else. You could see that in this field, it was just us, it was this bridge. There was nothing under this bridge. But it was really freaking out one of the people we that we brought with us. So I was like, This has got to be a person. I mean, this a spirit can't have this much power to do this. So I had this iPhone app, which was like a police radio, made it sound like a police radio was going off. So I was going around pretending like I was talking to the police and this whatever it was didn't care. So we all went back to the car and I remember Having the sensation of something grabbing from my ankles that was underneath the car. But whatever this thing was, it was just it was really dark. It was angry. I don't know. It was the collective the collective energy, if it was something that fed on these energies, or if it was just all of this sorrow, you know, or just the last thoughts from these suicides or people that were lynched there, whatever the whatever it was. That's probably something I wouldn't go back to. I know a lot of people that would go back there and have been there just for kicks, to see what happens. But it's really funny because I do see some people go there and then once start activity starts happening, then they're out the door. So it's almost like you know, you call someone and when they answer, you just run and leave that phone hanging, you know, screaming, crying, snot coming out of your nose, whatever. But it's I do see that a lot in investigations where you're asking for something to appear to happen, and then once your little meters and stuff start bleaking, you know, you you run or you freak out, or what did you think was gonna happen? I don't know. Again, it's such a different world now.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, yeah, that's it. And I've got a background in emergency services, like I was a firefighter and a paramedic. So my mentality is to go towards whatever's going on while everybody
Christopher Brewer: Yes.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: else is going away. So if I hear something in a basement, yes, I will be extremely apprehensive, but I still want to find out what it is.
Christopher Brewer: Yeah, I would be the person going with you. Because my my my uncle that was a reservation cop, Marvin Stolt, same thing. You know, he went into the accident. That was his job, regardless of how he was feeling or whatever that was. That was just his his duty for the tribe. So I've inherited a lot of that too. If if you know everyone's hearing noises from from the attic and no one wants to go up there, you know, I'm the first person that's gonna go up there, regardless of what I'm feeling. That's what we're doing here. It used to used to bother me. When I used to watch things like MTV Sphere or Scariest Places on Earth, and you'd have these families or these kids going to these haunted locations. So this these producers are paying hundreds of dollars to fly them to Dracula's Castle or to Mexico to investigate this mine where the Nawali was seen, and they bail out. You know, they they go back home. It's like what did you think was gonna happen? You know, it's just so yeah, anyway.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah, one of the things that I do want to speak to you about, Chris, is, and we kind of mentioned it off there before we start, with you having a tribal heritage, there's a lot of beliefs into various kind of spirits and cryptids. And I know that you mentioned skinwalker, but that's the Navajo tribe of belief, if that's correct. for your...
Christopher Brewer: Yeah. Yeah.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: upbringing, what kind of creatures and spirits do you either get warned about or told about as a bedtime story as we mentioned earlier? So what kind of cryptids and creatures do you kind of get told about?
Christopher Brewer: Okay, well, one of the stories, and there's more than one person in my family that's told me about this, but it was a it was a sundance, which is very sacred to us. and a Washichu, a white woman, was told she was kind of going as a touristy kind of thing. She was told not to bring a camera. These are things that you don't it's another thing, some of these videos of these guys, you know, we're gonna do a sweat lodge. So watch watch us do this sweat lodge ceremony. And it's more about, you know, watching them show off their bodies because those things you don't record at all. You know, you have cultures where you're not even supposed to take a picture of them because they're afraid that that captures their spirit, you know. So she was told not to bring a camera into the Sundance, and she did. And she got the pictures back, and there wasn't any people in these photos. They were all bison. she got a picture of a man without a head, because it was this guy that could dance. And one of his party tricks was that he could remove his head and dance around it, you know. I mean, we used to do like my ancestors would do these ghost dances where they would wear these certain ghost shirts, which would keep them safe. And they were banned in the eighteen hundreds because they were afraid that they would lead to this resistance, and this revolution. But really, it really scared the these Confederate soldiers because they would see spirits coming to join the circle because it was all about bringing those the spirits of these warriors back. so a lot of these events like sun dances or powwows, like at one of the powwows there was actually like a sasquatch that was cornered. So for us it was just these were just real creatures. For us, we believe that the the Sasquatch were like underdwellers. And there were things like skinwalkers, it is more Danae, that is more Navajo culture. and that's another big thing now because of like the the show and and these other things. But the way I was told it it was a medicine man or medicine woman that originally tr for to get from A to B where they needed to get their water supplies, whatever it was, was such a long journey. And someone approached them and they said, you know, there's an easier way to do this. Where you can change shape, you know, you can be granted the powers of a coyote so you can like run there and get there really fast, or you could in order to maintain this energy, you had to do some really bad things, which was kill people or whatever it was. So there were certainly reports of shape shifters on our land. We had areas of in the Badlands where there was I don't know they were, but they ate rocks. You know, that's how they survived. Other places where there were beings made of thunder or like Petiuhala, which were, I guess, the closest you would come to the translation of like a fairy. just these little people that were self luminescent. so all kinds of spirits or all kinds of cryptids, you know, that there was this thing that would come through at night that would sound like I don't know why. but like clinking cans and these really sharp, like metallic noises. maybe just you know, I I have read different reports of UFO stories where people are hearing higher high pitched frequencies, vibrations, noises, those kinds of things. Whatever this was, those were the sounds it made. So some of them we can't even put a name to. We just again, they came out of areas where the the electromagnetic barrier. was in a state of collapse. So it made it easier for them to cross into our world, you know. again, areas where that there was more of a dark side to it. but yeah, there were areas where it was like the natural energetic barrier between worlds was in a state of collapse, where that membrane that was very thin. So it was easier for things from other realms. They would see birds that they couldn't explain, you know, that we don't really have here with weird tails or weird beaks. So it wasn't always these scary monsters. It was even like spiders or frogs that just didn't look quite right, that weren't really from they were from another place. So these are all stories I grew up with, you know, as well.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: So if you did kind of encounter a shape-shifting spirit for want of an easy expression, was there a procedure afterwards that you would have to go through like a cleansing or anything like that to... Is
Christopher Brewer: Yeah. Yeah.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: that something that you can talk to me about or is it sacred?
Christopher Brewer: Of course. yeah, it's really dangerous because you can get really sick. and even just being in places where there's a lot of death, again, you could pick up on that energy. I think because we're so in tune with spirit. So it's like you know, when you're Lakota, you really have to watch what you say. because to say it is to pray it in a way, is what we believed. When you say something, it's invoking something. So when you're when you don't have money, for instance, you don't say, I'm broke. That's like a mantra. What you put out is what comes back. So you're gonna stay in this broke state if you keep saying you're broke. So when we go to places, we just have to really be careful because we're always kind of tuning in and aligning and speaking with whatever's on the other side. so if you were in a place where there was shapeshifter scene, you would have to go with a medicine bag. You didn't go anywhere without a medicine bag. And in that bag would be maybe special herbs or charms. or crystals that would protect you and that would help you align with higher vibrational, more like more positive life forms. but afterwards and come back from a location, Alcatraz, whatever that is, the easiest way is really just to take an Epsom salt bath because that salt is really spiritually detoxifying. You can throw in some like holy water. I go to a lot a lot of sacred sites. There's a place in called Elt El Santuario de Chimayo in New Mexico, which is a site of all these holy visions, and it's a pilgrimage site. So that w that holy water there is really, really special. So I put some of that in my bath. I have a mixture of like cedar, because we would burn cedar. We use a lot of cedar like in sweat lodges because that purifies you of the really, really bad stuff, you know, bad thought forms, bad vibes, bad things that you deal with on the road, even like really aggressive energy, you know, those road ragers. really takes all that stuff off of you. But you d really did have to do like a sweat, like a in a sweat lodge to where you'd sweat out the impurities. and sweats are really hard because you really have to hold yourself in sacred space. And it's really hard to hold yourself in a space where you're really uncomfortable where it's so hot and you're sweating so much. But that's really forces you to be in the moment with your thoughts. So if there is something that's negative that's attached to you, those thoughts are going to emerge first. you know what's really gonna communicate, why it's with you, maybe if it has a message for you. Because in our culture, you don't really go out and communicate or interact with these things. You would wait for them to come to you, whatever that if they had a message for you, they would communicate with you. Otherwise, mind your business, don't go in these places. but that's just part of my path. So I'm led to these places. but yeah, definitely you need to need a good sweat, a good Ritual bath, just something that incorporated the element of water and something that would draw impurities out of you, not just physically but spiritually, to where you do have things like cedar and sweetgrass, because we believe sweetgrass would bring in positive elements. like my grandmother used to make sweetgrass blades, so braids. So a lot of times, like after I did like a sweat or something to release that, and I was really calling on to for like a higher vibration to bless me and clear me, I would smell sweetgrass. And that was that scent was so affiliated with her, it was almost like she was coming to provide that blessing. And she was she was the wife of my grandfather, Sidney Bird, Hokshila Washte, which means good boy in Sioux. And in my twenties, it was him that named me Matochante, which is Sioux for Bear Heart. so they were both holy people. so they usually give me some sign of like if if I'm really anxious about. being clear of negative energy or if I've taken on something at the store or an investigation or when I came back from my trip to Alcatraz and these other places, after I did a blessing, you know, like the house was just full of that secret sweet grass smell. So that's how I knew that they were working to readjust the almost like the polarities in my in my body, to rebalance everything.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Yeah. Would there be any occasion where something like that cleansing, if you like, wouldn't work and then you'd have to do like the next level, if that kind of makes sense? Is that something that would occasionally occur or is that once you do that cleansing, that's it, it's done and dusted?
Christopher Brewer: You know, we we just we really have to look at our attachments, you know, especially in the paranormal field, there's so much tech of attachments. You know, you have so many attachments that are just, you know, when you wake up first thing in the morning you get on the the internet, you know, TikTok, Instagram, whatever that is, and someone says something and immediately it's true, you know, because either the president said it's true or his followers or whatever, not to get political, but it's just like we accept things for truth so quickly. without even it running it through our inner, like our intuition or third eye, whatever that is. So, first of all, you know, you just have to look at what are your attack, what are your beliefs, you know, and if you believe in this thing, what is it giving you? What good is it doing for your energetic system? Is it something that's putting you? You wouldn't believe what they're doing and what they're putting in the water or the contrails or whatever this is. Granted, you know, I grew up with X-Files too. So I believe in some conspiracy theories, but I don't go overboard with it. I don't attach to something that's just going to keep me in the state of fear and paranoia. So when you're dealing with a a very severe haunting where it's just maybe like a quick, I don't want to say quick cleanse, but it's like where the traditional smudging isn't working. It's usually because that person has an attachment themselves they don't let go of. So this might have been a relationship and that person maybe died or is married to another person, because oftentimes It's that connection from their heart to another person's heart, or even their sexual organs to another person's sexual organs, where they're still attached psychically and spirit, whatever that is. So they have to do exercises where, you know, for me it's like Luke Skowaker, because I love Sai Fai. You I'm sure you do too going to these conventions, but it's almost like this visualization where you take like a you imagine like a lightsaber. So you're cutting those cords between you and another person. Or maybe it's like a spirit where they're attachment to earthly possessions or earthly vices is so strong, whether that's cigarettes or alcohol or sex or whatever they were attached to, they don't want to release that. And if they do release that, that means that they're going on to another level of consciousness. And there are some spirits that they don't want to do that. You know, there's so many shows where it's just like, you know, I I help these spirits cross over to the other side. Certainly these this these things happen. But it's almost like the the way they set it up to where the spirits can't cross over unless they're present. And yet I was raised with beliefs where it's just like, okay, there are spirits on that side that take care of those things, you know, because we're in this physical reality, you know. So there's you come into the world with this host of guidance where they're going to protect you, where they're going to help you on a spiritual path, inform you, whatever that is. where they're gonna help spirits cross over when they pass. but usually when we're dealing with a spirit that is not is resistant to a smudging, it's because that there's something in the house that's maybe that belongs to that spirit. whether that, you know, sometimes it's like old books or a piece of jewelry or clothes or whatever. So those things have to be drawn out of the home. And if it's a spirit, or I mean if it's like a person. that has a really heavy attachment. They just really have to look at their own relationship with whoever they think is haunting them. but a lot of times, again, it's just that attachment that they have to release. They have to be willing also to adjust their vocabulary to stop saying I'm haunted or it's malevolent or just just start reversing that. You know, because we do with a lot of people that come into the store and it's just like they're so down, you know, and it's just, you know, okay, I Money flows to me freely and easily. You know, if you're don't say you're broke, say that. Say that first thing in the morning, say that the last thing before you go to sleep. Money flows to me freely and easily. Do that for a week and see how that abundance and that wealth, you know, how you start to manifest that. If that starts with you, like any spiritual teeth or which were spiritual teacher worth their salt is going to get right to the heart of the problem, which is you. You know, so it's you, That's responsible. Even in my store, I see so many people that pick out crystals and stuff and just shove it in their pocket and call it a day. You know, okay, work for me. It doesn't work that way. These are tools and you're the battery. You have to put your energy into it. You have to take responsibility for either going into a haunted area or communicating with a spirit, whatever that is. There's consequences. There's a there's a cause and effect to everything that we do. So long answer. Yeah.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Perfect. Chris, it's been an absolute pleasure. Before you
Christopher Brewer: Thank you.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: go, what's next on the agenda for Chris Brewer?
Christopher Brewer: well, I'm gonna be doing an investigation. I'm one of the, I guess the speaker at Four Mile Park in Denver, which has got the oldest standing structure in Denver. It's where all the stagecoaches and where all the settlers used to go to in Denver. That was one of the first stops before it became like this giant city. I'm hoping to go to Scotland and England next year. last year I went on the Spirit Heart cruise. I was one of the keynote speakers and you know, back in like the The days of the pirates, that was like the main hub, you know, that was the Blackbeard, all those people. So I'm involved with these people that do these cruises to these haunted sites or sacred sites. So hopefully I'll be leading an investigation at like Edinburgh Castle. but just go to thespiritchasers.com and that's a great place to keep up with what I'm doing, my free videos, photos, all of those things.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Well, if you're going to England and the British Isles, think you might need a translator, so I'm free. I will come with you to help.
Christopher Brewer: Thank you so much. I might have to reach out to ya. No, I will definitely reach out to you and let you know when we're gonna be doing this. So
Lee - Paranormal Prism: absolutely. Yeah. But for now, Chris, it's been an absolute pleasure talking to you. I've learned so much. even
Christopher Brewer: Thank you. Thank you.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: though we did go through a few tangents, I've still learned a lot. But for now,
Christopher Brewer: Thanks.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: my friend, you have a great rest of the day. And like I say, we'll stay in touch. Thanks a lot. Take care.
Christopher Brewer: I so enjoyed this. Thank you for watching everyone.
Lee - Paranormal Prism: Bye bye.
Christopher Brewer: Right.
