Speaker 1: Live from the WOR LifeVac studios, Mark Simone.
00:00:06
Speaker 2: Hey, with us right now, the brilliant columnist Miranda Devine. You've got to read her columns in the New York Post. They're all up on the New York Post website. And if you haven't read her books, go back and get them. The Big Guy or Laptop from Hell. They are fascinating books, real important. And Miranda Devine is with us. Miranda Devine, how are you doing? Hi, I'm really well, thanks, Mark. Hey, you just wrote a column about Hunter Biden. This guy's like herpes. He keeps coming back. You can't get rid of him.
00:00:37
Speaker 1: Oh, I've been trying to avoid giving him any more publicity because it's his new addiction. But honestly, it's just so ridiculous the way he's trying to rewrite history. And unfortunately, there are a lot of gullible podcasters out there willing to allow him to view his lies. It's the only way I can describe it. He is still pretending it's not his laptop. The laptop doesn't exist, you know. But the funny thing is that the more he talks, the more he just confirms our reporting and You know, for instance, the other day he was on some addiction podcast called Dopey. I kid you not. And he's saying, oh, yeah, you know, yeah, I got paid a million dollars a year by Burisma for going to four board meetings a year and I was high on crack. So all expenses paid in, you know, Monaco or Paris or Dubai, these glamorous locales in very expensive hotels. And he, you know, for all this time, he said, oh, I was on the Burisma board, had nothing to do with my father. It was because of my great expertise as a very important and respected lawyer and a seasoned board member. But no, now he admits that all he had to do was go to four meetings a year for a million dollars a year, which is pretty incredible money if you can get it.
00:02:09
Speaker 2: Yeah. Do we know how much he made off those paintings? I would think it was millions.
00:02:13
Speaker 1: Yeah. No, I don't think. That was pretty well documented. I can't remember offhand, but it was not. It was in the realm of the high hundreds of thousands. And most of those paintings were bought by his sugar brother, Kevin Morris, the Hollywood attorney, who was, for some reason, funding his lifestyle, paying for his expensive rental.
00:02:41
Speaker 2: In New York.
00:02:42
Speaker 1: Malibu or the Hollywood Hills or wherever he ended up. And at the Palisades, I think was his last one. And, you know, these are $ 20, 000, $ 30, 000 a month rentals and paying for his, for instance, his Porsche repayments and everything else. So, Hunter really hasn't had a proper job for as long as we can remember. And he just seems to get by with the help of friends. And Now his lawyer is suing him for unpaid legal bills because Kevin Morris finally shut his wallet. And then he's got this other lawyer now called Dick Harpootlian, who's an old crony of Joe Biden's, who presumably is doing everything pro bono for him.
00:03:36
Speaker 2: Miranda Devine, this Hunter Biden, he's a good-looking guy. He's quite a talker, very articulate. Why didn't he ever get a job? Why didn't he ever start some kind of career?
00:03:46
Speaker 1: Well, because why should he when he could get millions of dollars just from leveraging daddy's contacts and daddy's power and influence? And, you know, we're talking about tens of millions of dollars that just poured in from China and Russia and Ukraine and so on. You know, it's all so well documented and it's way beyond the laptop now.
00:04:09
Speaker 2: It was.
00:04:10
Speaker 1: corroborated by witness after witness. And the only reason that Hunter is not in jail, he was convicted in Delaware. He pleaded guilty on the first day of his California trial, tax fraud trial. The only reason he's not in jail is because his father was president and pardoned him. And not just a regular old pardon that presidents normally give, but one that went back 14 years, sorry, 11 years to 2014, and that covered all of the Ukraine grift and the beginning of the rest of it. So the only other person that Joe Biden was kind enough to do this sort of retrospective 11-year pardon was Anthony Fauci.
00:04:56
Speaker 2: Another fine, upstanding citizen. Well, Miranda Devine. Hey, what did you think of the meeting with President Xi of China? It was... Very cordial. Was it too cordial?
00:05:10
Speaker 1: I don't think so. I mean, that's sort of the way that Donald Trump does things. He tries to schmooze, and at the same time, he has his arm around their back twisting it. And afterwards, the Chinese put some sort of deliverables on the table, and, you know, they seemed quite fine. I mean, the main thing is, I think, At the moment, Donald Trump is trying to get China and Russia to stop helping Iran. And while President Xi was in Washington or maybe he was jetting his way to Washington, we now find out that Donald Trump gave the green light to blowing up a Chinese spy satellite in space. So Star Wars has arrived and that spy satellite, apparently, was giving coordinates to Iran of various ships and things that they could blow up of America.
00:06:11
Speaker 2: You know, for all the flack he gets, Pete Hegseth, yelling and screaming, he's not confident. This guy has pulled off a dozen of the greatest military operations in history, from Venezuela to shooting out that spy satellite, hasn't he?
00:06:25
Speaker 1: Yeah, look, to me, he seems to be doing a great job and rebuilding morale and recruitment in the military, which had sagged terribly because of all the woke ridiculousness that had crept in under Obama and exploded under Joe Biden. So, you know, and he gets bad press because he's firing or demoting or you know, not promoting certain generals who were part of that really malign reign of terror in the military where they were, you know, trying to put women and transgender individuals who were like taking chemicals that would destroy their readiness, pregnant women in, you know, combat. It just didn't work. And there are just certain jobs in the military that, that you can't have DEI in. And so I think he's doing the right thing. He's doing what's supposed to be done. For all the huge amount of money that American taxpayers pour into the military, you want a military that is going to be effective and not incompetent. And, you know, I just remember during Joe Biden's reign, you had the disastrous pullout from Afghanistan, total incompetence. of the military on display there. And, I mean, obviously it came from the top, from Joe Biden and General Milley. And then we had that other story that sort of didn't get much attention because everyone was trying to cover up for Joe Biden. But remember they had that pier in Gaza that the military was supposed to build?
00:08:11
Speaker 2: Yeah.
00:08:12
Speaker 1: And it fell apart within days. It cost a fortune. And I think a soldier either died or was severely injured there. on that thing. And it just got washed away. And that is just such incompetence and such an indictment of what used to be a supremely competent body. So I think it was necessary for Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump to get in there and really clean house.
00:08:44
Speaker 2: Well, Miranda Devine, we're out of time, but everybody should get her book. She's written two really great bestsellers, Laptop from Hell, the big guy. You read them today. They're still fascinating to read. Are you working on a new book?
00:08:58
Speaker 1: I am, actually, but I can't quite divulge what it is until I sign the contract.
00:09:02
Speaker 2: Oh, it's going to be a good one. I can't wait. You've written some great books. And, of course, read her column in the New York Post. They're all up on the website. And I love your podcast. Those episodes are still up there. You've got some great interviews with the president and everybody else. It's called Pod Force One, right? Yes, it is.
00:09:20
Speaker 1: Thank you. And we have John Solomon this week on Wednesday who is, of course, that great investigative reporter from Just the News, but he also is now a special government employee and he has been given the keys to the kingdom.
00:09:36
Speaker 2: He is looking at all sorts of.
00:09:38
Speaker 1: Secret government files and unravelling the serious coup attempts against Donald Trump by the deep state. And the evidence is just mind-blowing. He'll have to write a book or several books to explain it all, but he explains a lot of.
00:09:56
Speaker 2: It on Wednesday. Well, check it out. It's Miranda Devine's podcast. Force One. It's a great podcast. Wherever you get your podcasts, you'll find it. Great stuff.
