ABOUT THIS EPISODE
700 border enforcement cases in a month sounds like a crackdown, but when you put it next to the size of the illegal immigration problem in Texas, it raises a tougher question: are we actually getting the results voters were promised? We walk through what those federal cases include, what “mass deportations” would require in real numbers, and why accountability matters even when you generally support the administration and the overall mission of border security.
Then we confront the part of the border story that gets waved away far too often: human trafficking. A Cuban national receives a 17 year federal sentence after trafficking women and forcing them into exhausting work to repay smuggling debts that balloon with added “expenses.” We talk about how these schemes operate, why they thrive in chaos, and what serious deterrence should look like if we want to protect victims and punish the people who profit from them.
From there, we shift to a sovereignty and justice fight that feels surreal: an Italian court blocks extradition in the Lee Gillies case unless Texas prosecutors reduce charges to avoid the death penalty or life without parole. What should another country be able to demand from a Texas courtroom, and what precedent does that set?
In the second hour, we bring on John Velleco, executive vice president of Gun Owners of America, to break down GOA’s major Second Amendment litigation wins alongside Ken Paxton, why this Paxton vs James Talarico Senate race is a stark contrast, and why early voting turnout could decide everything. We wrap with Don Huffines’ new whistleblower portal, Harris County’s record early voting surge, and a reminder to slow down and wait for facts in a tragic shooting story that’s already getting politicized.

00:00:08.960 --> 00:00:14.480
The voice of reason, each of the starting conservative Michael Wilson.
00:00:32.399 --> 00:00:33.840
Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen.
00:00:33.920 --> 00:00:39.920
I'm your host, Michael Wilson, and you're listening to the Lone Star Conservative here on Patriot Talk 920.
00:00:40.079 --> 00:00:45.200
Now, before we get into anything, first of all, today is two a Tuesday.
00:00:45.359 --> 00:01:02.560
And it's a very special kind of two a Tuesday because not only is it two a Tuesday on the show, meaning we're going to have a very exciting two A guest on the show, but it's also 2A Tuesday this afternoon, going on from 4 to 7 p.m.
00:01:02.799 --> 00:01:04.640
at Collectors Firearms.
00:01:04.799 --> 00:01:15.439
Today is our monthly 2A Tuesday happy hour, in addition to our 2A Tuesday segment here on the show, which, by the way, is also brought to you by Collector's Firearms.
00:01:15.599 --> 00:01:21.040
At 7 o'clock, we're going to have John Valeco from GOA, Gun Owners of America, coming on.
00:01:21.280 --> 00:01:23.280
We're going to be going over Paxton.
00:01:23.359 --> 00:01:24.879
We're going to be going over the campaign.
00:01:24.959 --> 00:01:26.640
We're going to be going over policy problems.
00:01:26.719 --> 00:01:29.920
We're going to be going over everything that GOA is working on in the next legislative session.
00:01:30.000 --> 00:01:33.519
And we're going to be going on, of course, the event tonight and everything you need to know.
00:01:33.599 --> 00:01:35.680
That'll be the start of the second hour.
00:01:35.920 --> 00:01:41.519
But let me go ahead and uh for those of you who are here early, you get a special, a special glimpse.
00:01:41.760 --> 00:01:43.359
You showed up at six o'clock.
00:01:43.519 --> 00:01:44.239
You're here.
00:01:44.400 --> 00:01:46.799
You're, you're, you're no, you're on time.
00:01:46.959 --> 00:01:48.480
Really, you're you're very early.
00:01:48.719 --> 00:01:51.359
And I appreciate those who tune in at six o'clock.
00:01:51.519 --> 00:01:55.040
I know for most human beings at this point in America, 6 a.m.
00:01:55.200 --> 00:01:55.760
is early.
00:01:55.920 --> 00:02:04.719
Even if you're awake because you have to be to get ready for work, you know, the time is gone where people want to listen to radio or podcast or really anything in the morning.
00:02:04.879 --> 00:02:07.040
They maybe, maybe want to listen to music.
00:02:07.120 --> 00:02:12.639
They certainly don't want their brain heavy to run and think about things and think about politics and think about what's happening.
00:02:12.800 --> 00:02:16.800
And so most people don't want to start listening at 6 a.m.
00:02:17.199 --> 00:02:17.759
Most.
00:02:18.400 --> 00:02:24.000
But there are still a large number of people who do because you guys make this show possible.
00:02:24.240 --> 00:02:27.919
Those of you who tune in so early, and I don't know how you do it.
00:02:28.080 --> 00:02:28.479
I really don't.
00:02:28.560 --> 00:02:32.159
And I know what you're thinking to yourself, Michael, you're literally the one doing the show so early.
00:02:32.319 --> 00:02:34.639
Yeah, but that's because, you know, that's my job.
00:02:35.280 --> 00:02:39.439
I promise you, if I could pick the show time, it wouldn't regularly be six to eight.
00:02:40.000 --> 00:02:40.960
That's the job.
00:02:41.199 --> 00:02:42.800
And I love my job.
00:02:43.039 --> 00:02:49.120
But like, would I would I actively choose to get up at the time that I do if I didn't have a show that started at six?
00:02:49.280 --> 00:02:49.919
I don't think so.
00:02:50.159 --> 00:02:52.319
Would I tune into a show that started at six?
00:02:52.639 --> 00:02:53.599
Probably not.
00:02:53.840 --> 00:02:57.120
And so for those of you who do, I am incredibly appreciative.
00:02:57.280 --> 00:03:00.639
And so for you guys, we're gonna go ahead and talk about what's going on tonight.
00:03:00.719 --> 00:03:05.039
So you can already be aware of it before we go into the two-way Tuesday segment at the second hour.
00:03:05.439 --> 00:03:07.360
Of course, this starts at 4 p.m.
00:03:07.680 --> 00:03:11.919
And uh really the earlier you're there, the better in terms of 4 p.m., right?
00:03:12.159 --> 00:03:14.479
I mean, you can show up at 5 reasonably.
00:03:14.639 --> 00:03:19.919
Uh if of course, uh, if you've got work that runs, you know, 9 to 5 and you can get there at 5.30, we'd love to have you, right?
00:03:20.000 --> 00:03:21.599
It's it's a come and go kind of thing.
00:03:21.680 --> 00:03:28.319
Uh though you do uh you do have to be, of course, there for an extended period and then present to win in the raffle, which we'll talk about in just a second.
00:03:28.479 --> 00:03:31.439
But other than that, we would love to have you there if you're able to make it, period.
00:03:31.520 --> 00:03:31.680
Right?
00:03:31.759 --> 00:03:36.319
If if you can't get there until 5:30, 545, 6 o'clock, we'd still love to have you.
00:03:36.560 --> 00:03:38.400
We'd still love for you to come on out.
00:03:38.719 --> 00:03:41.280
But if you can get there at four, even better.
00:03:41.439 --> 00:03:45.599
Because from four to five, we will be having our live broadcast.
00:03:45.759 --> 00:03:48.479
And then from five to seven will be the happy hour.
00:03:48.639 --> 00:03:55.280
And in that happy hour, we've got free food, we've got free beverages, which includes adult beverages, cocktails, the like.
00:03:55.439 --> 00:04:05.199
We also, of course, will have a free giveaway, um, which all you have to do to enter is, of course, be there and then be present when we call out the numbers.
00:04:05.840 --> 00:04:08.240
But uh, I don't know exactly what all the prizes are.
00:04:08.319 --> 00:04:11.840
We usually do a couple of build-up prizes, which usually aren't bad either on their own.
00:04:11.919 --> 00:04:13.680
If you get those, you should be very happy.
00:04:13.840 --> 00:04:18.240
And then the last prize will be a Walther nine millimeter firearm that we'll be giving away.
00:04:18.399 --> 00:04:19.759
Again, this is all totally for free.
00:04:19.920 --> 00:04:24.639
Todd Starnes will be there, the armed attorneys will be there, the NRA bus will be there, GOA will be there.
00:04:24.800 --> 00:04:27.839
It'll be, I mean, just an absolutely phenomenal time.
00:04:27.920 --> 00:04:30.639
And we'd love as many people as can make it to come on out.
00:04:30.720 --> 00:04:34.639
Uh, this will be possibly one of the biggest events we've ever done.
00:04:34.879 --> 00:04:43.360
And so, you know, we would not even just in terms of the work that went into it, but also in terms of the people we expect to show up and the amount of people that are kind of working together.
00:04:43.519 --> 00:04:45.600
We have the Harris County GOP candidates.
00:04:45.759 --> 00:04:50.720
I mean, it really is all all encompassing uh this particular event.
00:04:50.879 --> 00:04:52.720
So we would love to see everybody out there.
00:04:52.879 --> 00:04:55.439
It's it again, it's gonna be an absolutely phenomenal time.
00:04:56.000 --> 00:04:59.120
And so, you know, we would we would love to have you.
00:04:59.199 --> 00:05:03.439
Uh, all of the listeners of this show, especially, I would love to see you guys uh say, Hey, I tune into your show.
00:05:03.519 --> 00:05:13.439
When I went to a speaking event last week, it was actually I I mean, it was so nice because I had multiple people that I got to talk to who listened to my show that I I had not met or or what have you.
00:05:13.839 --> 00:05:21.920
And it's just it's such a nice feeling to meet the people that you interact with or that interact with you.
00:05:22.879 --> 00:05:34.959
And, you know, in the age, especially of social media, where all these relationships are interpersonal and you don't know anybody, not really, it's really nice to get to go face to face still.
00:05:35.120 --> 00:05:43.120
You know, especially after they want us to forget COVID and and like put that away in the you know back of our minds as if it's like a fake memory.
00:05:43.360 --> 00:05:44.959
But many of us remember COVID.
00:05:45.040 --> 00:05:47.600
You know, people weren't hanging out, we couldn't go see movies, right?
00:05:47.680 --> 00:05:51.920
It wasn't, you know, it was not it was not a grand old time.
00:05:52.319 --> 00:05:54.879
And that messed up a lot of things for a lot of people.
00:05:55.040 --> 00:05:57.680
And now we're back and we're getting to host events like this.
00:05:57.839 --> 00:06:01.519
We're getting to go hang out and meet people and have a good time, and so I'm very excited about it.
00:06:01.759 --> 00:06:03.360
But we do also have lots of news to get into.
00:06:03.439 --> 00:06:09.439
Again, that will be at Collector's Firearms starting this evening at 4 p.m., running till about 7 p.m.
00:06:09.759 --> 00:06:16.639
Uh free food, free drinks, free giveaways, Todd Starns, me, GOA, the armed attorneys, so on and so forth.
00:06:16.720 --> 00:06:17.600
We'd love to see you there.
00:06:17.839 --> 00:06:20.319
We also get a text in it says if you didn't have a 6 a.m.
00:06:20.480 --> 00:06:23.920
show, I'd be forced to have road rage on my way to work.
00:06:24.160 --> 00:06:28.480
Instead, I get to be entertained, so you keep the road rage away.
00:06:28.639 --> 00:06:34.639
You know, I'm a little bit surprised that you say that because I it's it's kind of trading out, right?
00:06:34.720 --> 00:06:38.560
It's substitution here because you may not have road rage.
00:06:38.639 --> 00:06:46.079
But I think all of you that are driving as you listen to the show are passing it on to me, because I read these stories and I'm telling you, it's it's not an act.
00:06:46.160 --> 00:06:56.879
I'm not a super performative person, not in the regard that I can't act, or in the regard that, you know, I can't ever be dramatic, but or that I can't, you know, be sarcastic and whatever.
00:06:57.040 --> 00:07:02.800
I'm not performative in the sense that when I'm saying something, and usually with the emotion that I'm saying it, that's what I have.
00:07:03.040 --> 00:07:09.680
Now, I may dramatize it a little bit sometimes, not usually, but for the most part, it's not performative at all.
00:07:10.319 --> 00:07:13.600
Everything I say and the way I say it is how I'm feeling about it.
00:07:13.759 --> 00:07:40.319
And so when I'm going over the local news and I'm having to deal with Houston City Council, and I'm having to deal with Harris County, and I'm having to talk about Letitia Plummer, and I'm having to deal with uh the spending of Leslie Brianis, and I'm having to when I'm having to do all of this stuff, I'm telling you, when I was younger, I never foresaw how infuriating politics would be on a daily basis when you're in it.
00:07:40.480 --> 00:07:43.360
I I I knew I'd seen Alex Jones, right?
00:07:43.439 --> 00:07:48.240
So I knew that to a degree, right, and I was like, no, Alex Jones just dramatic.
00:07:48.319 --> 00:07:49.199
I mean, he's just acting.
00:07:49.279 --> 00:07:52.399
It's it's for the, you know, it's it's you know, because people like it.
00:07:52.560 --> 00:07:53.360
It's entertaining.
00:07:53.519 --> 00:07:54.879
And that's not a bad thing, right?
00:07:55.040 --> 00:08:01.279
You're allowed to be entertaining, you're allowed to spice up your show and to be more dramatic and more passionate than maybe you really are.
00:08:01.439 --> 00:08:02.160
That's fine.
00:08:02.319 --> 00:08:04.079
But I thought that was the case with Alex Jones.
00:08:04.160 --> 00:08:05.360
Maybe it is, I who knows.
00:08:05.600 --> 00:08:11.360
And then I got into it and I was like, man, the stuff going on makes you angry.
00:08:12.000 --> 00:08:15.439
And so, and that I that was not my personality before.
00:08:15.680 --> 00:08:24.879
So I think what happened was I'm not talking some supernatural hoodoo here, but you guys with all the road raids, you pass that on to me through when you text in.
00:08:25.040 --> 00:08:28.079
So now I have to be angry all the time.
00:08:28.240 --> 00:08:32.480
And it's just it's just part of the way things go now, uh, especially with the stories we have.
00:08:32.720 --> 00:08:36.879
I think sometimes I think anger is an appropriate response in limited amounts.
00:08:37.039 --> 00:08:39.600
But I'm glad I keep the road rage away for you.
00:08:39.759 --> 00:08:41.120
I that that you know what?
00:08:41.200 --> 00:08:42.879
That makes the whole show worth it.
00:08:43.039 --> 00:08:46.720
That makes uh really, yeah, my whole job is worth it.
00:08:46.960 --> 00:08:49.600
If only I can prevent road rage, right?
00:08:49.679 --> 00:08:54.480
It's it's old Smokey telling me only I can prevent road rage when I do my show.
00:08:54.720 --> 00:08:59.200
So I'm very glad about that, especially in Houston, because I mean you have multiple problems.
00:08:59.360 --> 00:09:01.759
One, road rage is so easy to fall into here.
00:09:01.919 --> 00:09:06.320
And two, when you do, it's so easy to find yourself just dead on the side of the road, right?
00:09:06.559 --> 00:09:10.159
You've guys seen the road rage incidents around these parts of town, right?
00:09:10.240 --> 00:09:15.360
So you know, not a good place to have road rage, not a good city to be in.
00:09:15.519 --> 00:09:20.480
Like it's like the deadliest city uh in terms of like drivers and that sort of stuff in the world.
00:09:20.639 --> 00:09:22.240
So uh not recommended.
00:09:22.320 --> 00:09:24.480
So that may that you know what you know what that means?
00:09:24.720 --> 00:09:30.799
That means so long as I'm on air, you're basically morally obligated to tune in.
00:09:30.960 --> 00:09:31.200
Right?
00:09:31.279 --> 00:09:32.399
Think about it logically.
00:09:32.639 --> 00:09:40.159
If I'm preventing the road rage, and road rage is bad, I know this is the worst way to present a logical syllogism.
00:09:40.240 --> 00:09:43.200
Uh, therefore, morally you must tune into the show.
00:09:43.360 --> 00:09:50.159
So that's, you know, I know you could find the faulty logic in that, I'm aware, in about two seconds, probably less.
00:09:50.320 --> 00:09:51.360
But it makes sense.
00:09:51.519 --> 00:09:52.960
So tune in every morning.
00:09:53.120 --> 00:09:54.000
We'd love to have you.
00:09:54.159 --> 00:09:55.679
Thanks for the text in, by the way.
00:09:55.759 --> 00:09:56.480
I appreciate it.
00:09:56.639 --> 00:10:00.159
I'm thankful that I'm influencing you to not be road ragey.
00:10:00.320 --> 00:10:00.960
That makes my day.
00:10:01.039 --> 00:10:01.919
It really does.
00:10:02.240 --> 00:10:10.879
I have a couple of things on the border I want to get into borderslash border resultant issues that we need to talk about here to kick off the show.
00:10:11.200 --> 00:10:19.360
Federal prosecutors in the Western and Southern District of Texas have filed nearly 700 border enforcement cases this month.
00:10:19.519 --> 00:10:20.240
Now, what does that mean?
00:10:20.399 --> 00:10:27.679
Well, the announcements that these came out yesterday, by the way, uh, most of them stem from immigration and border security-related offenses.
00:10:27.840 --> 00:10:28.799
Prosecutors from the U.S.
00:10:28.879 --> 00:10:50.159
Attorney's Office for the Western District reported that 476 cases have been filed, bringing charges against alien smugglers and illegal aliens with previous convictions of various violent crimes, including the cases of several illegal aliens from Mexico, Honduras, and Cuba, who had previously been convicted of crimes like theft, DUI, DWI, unlawful possession of a weapon, and illegal re-entry.
00:10:50.399 --> 00:10:56.240
The district also reported that Abdallah Mohammed Al-Husin, yeah, a Lebanese man.
00:10:56.399 --> 00:11:02.480
That name sounds really Lebanese, by the way, with a legal permanent resident card, was arrested and charged with alien smuggling.
00:11:02.639 --> 00:11:15.600
Al-Husin allegedly conducted 10 smuggling trips from the Fort Hancock area to El Paso and received approximately$150 per trip, which I mean, by the way, can I just say these are some of these are horrible businessmen.
00:11:15.840 --> 00:11:16.960
I've been thinking this a while.
00:11:17.120 --> 00:11:19.200
They don't listen to my show, so I'm not giving them advice.
00:11:19.279 --> 00:11:19.919
This is for you guys.
00:11:20.080 --> 00:11:21.200
And I'm not even giving you advice.
00:11:21.279 --> 00:11:22.240
Don't ever do this.
00:11:22.480 --> 00:11:27.200
But, you know, I was I was reading up on homemade products.
00:11:27.279 --> 00:11:29.360
This is completely unrelated, but it's sort of related.
00:11:29.440 --> 00:11:31.039
You'll see the connection in just a second.
00:11:31.279 --> 00:11:41.200
I was reading up on homemade, and I mean products, I mean, you know, cinnamon rolls, cookies, brownies, the these sorts of items, just out of curiosity, sure curiosity, or maybe it popped up on my Facebook.
00:11:41.440 --> 00:11:43.039
Maybe it wasn't even curiosity, it might have just been there.
00:11:43.120 --> 00:11:45.039
And so then it was, well, I it's on my page.
00:11:45.120 --> 00:11:45.919
I should read it.
00:11:46.000 --> 00:11:48.000
Uh, you know how social media works.
00:11:48.240 --> 00:11:54.000
And I'm reading about it, and this girl was charging five bucks for this container of cookies.
00:11:54.159 --> 00:11:57.679
And somebody said, No, no, no, girl, that's worth at least nine.
00:11:57.759 --> 00:12:00.720
And she goes, I would never pay nine dollars for this.
00:12:00.879 --> 00:12:06.000
They go, Nobody else would pay$9 in a store either, but they know it's homemade and you have your ingredients and this, that, and the other.
00:12:06.159 --> 00:12:06.879
They look really good.
00:12:07.039 --> 00:12:07.840
They'll pay$9.
00:12:08.320 --> 00:12:20.480
And she had success stories later on that she was making way more money and actually was selling more because for whatever reason the$9 clicked as it was artisan or something for folks that were like, oh, that must be better because it's more expensive.
00:12:20.639 --> 00:12:22.320
And there's real psychology behind that.
00:12:22.480 --> 00:12:23.840
I don't want to get ahead of myself.
00:12:24.000 --> 00:12:29.919
The reason I bring that up is you certainly could charge more than$150 per alien smuggling trip.
00:12:30.080 --> 00:12:34.080
I mean, you're you're risking everything for$150.
00:12:34.559 --> 00:12:36.480
That doesn't even feel remotely.
00:12:36.639 --> 00:12:42.080
I mean, you yeah, I'm gonna get picked up, go to jail, maybe lose my permanent residency and have to live in a new place.
00:12:42.320 --> 00:12:43.679
$150, man.
00:12:43.840 --> 00:12:46.000
I mean, I know there's desperate people.
00:12:46.159 --> 00:12:51.440
I'm aware of that, but sometimes I feel like these are just morons.
00:12:51.679 --> 00:12:53.200
I mean, just truly.
00:12:53.440 --> 00:13:01.039
Since October 9th, which was 11 days ago, more than 200 individuals have also been charged in the Southern District of Texas.
00:13:01.279 --> 00:13:02.159
And so according to the U.S.
00:13:02.240 --> 00:13:12.399
Attorney's Office for the Southern District, they said a total of 161 criminal complaints were filed for felony re-entry after prior removal, while another 16 people face charges of illegal entry.
00:13:12.639 --> 00:13:19.440
Most of those illegal aliens have prior felonies, such as narcotics, violent crime, immigration crimes, and more.
00:13:19.759 --> 00:13:28.399
An additional 22 individuals have been charged with human smuggling, and another four were charged this week in cases relating to other immigration crimes and firearms charges.
00:13:28.720 --> 00:13:37.279
Additionally, Robert Martinez Jr., a Needville resident, I'm sure some of you guys know where that is, excellent restaurant out there, by the way, not sponsored at all.
00:13:37.360 --> 00:13:42.159
Uh, but there's a really, really good place to eat out of Needville that I can highly recommend.
00:13:42.320 --> 00:13:46.080
Blue Jay Cafe, anybody, if you've ever been, I think they have one down in Lake Jackson now, too.
00:13:46.159 --> 00:13:48.559
But let me be honest, I've been to the one down in Lake Jackson.
00:13:49.120 --> 00:13:54.320
Maybe it's placebo, and you just know that's not the OG, but I like the one in Needville.
00:13:54.480 --> 00:13:55.039
I think it's better.
00:13:55.120 --> 00:13:56.080
I think it tastes better.
00:13:56.240 --> 00:13:58.399
I think the food is actually legitimately better.
00:13:58.480 --> 00:13:59.919
Um, I don't know about the service.
00:14:00.000 --> 00:14:09.360
You know, I'm really when I get food, I know the service is a little if it's bad service, you notice, and it's if it's superb service, you notice, but it's anywhere between all right and pretty good.
00:14:09.519 --> 00:14:12.159
If it's anywhere in that, you don't really notice if the food's good enough.
00:14:12.240 --> 00:14:13.600
I mean, you're just like, ah, service.
00:14:13.759 --> 00:14:14.000
Great.
00:14:14.080 --> 00:14:15.039
They brought my food.
00:14:15.200 --> 00:14:25.840
Um regardless, I'm the Needville resident, uh, that is Robert Martinez Jr., was sentenced to 21 months in prison for smuggling illegal aliens in a tractor trailer.
00:14:26.000 --> 00:14:30.399
Authorities discovered the 10 concealed illegal aliens after shopping Martinez at a border patrol checkpoint.
00:14:30.480 --> 00:14:38.639
Uh, these cases were handled by federal authorities with the help of state and local law enforcement where necessary and where they were willing to offer it, because you know that didn't happen in Houston.
00:14:38.879 --> 00:14:40.320
Regardless, 700.
00:14:40.480 --> 00:14:43.279
Now, look, don't get me wrong.
00:14:43.440 --> 00:14:48.799
Right, I am not big into complaining when things don't go my way, right?
00:14:48.879 --> 00:14:54.559
I'm not big into whining about what we didn't get and and sitting here being angry.
00:14:54.720 --> 00:14:56.639
But also there's a level of accountability.
00:14:56.799 --> 00:14:58.080
And I gotta be honest.
00:14:58.240 --> 00:15:04.320
I I I have to be honest, I have a real problem with the speed at which our deportations are going.
00:15:04.480 --> 00:15:05.360
I I do.
00:15:05.679 --> 00:15:08.320
And to a degree, I still understand it.
00:15:08.399 --> 00:15:08.480
Right.
00:15:08.559 --> 00:15:19.279
I'm not I'm not angry in the sense that I can't believe it's happening, or that I'm shocked, or that I'm I'm really that upset, even with the administration.
00:15:20.159 --> 00:15:21.360
It comes down to more than that.
00:15:21.519 --> 00:15:32.559
I'm frustrated because I think he some of us really believed at the the kickstart of 2024, really, that coming 2025 we can manage to win, that we were gonna get mass deportations, right?
00:15:32.639 --> 00:15:34.639
That that we were really gonna get all these people out.
00:15:34.879 --> 00:15:42.720
And the problem is that the the the longer that goes on, it kind of reminds you of the national debt.
00:15:43.039 --> 00:15:43.279
Right?
00:15:43.440 --> 00:15:46.320
You you reach a point where you go, there's no way we ever get this paid off.
00:15:46.399 --> 00:15:48.000
At some point, I don't even know what we're gonna do.
00:15:48.080 --> 00:15:48.320
Right.
00:15:48.399 --> 00:15:49.759
That's kind of how it starts to feel.
00:15:49.919 --> 00:16:06.159
And then even if you start paying it off and you're like, you manage to get one million dollars, one trillion dollars paid off, and you're like, oh, down to 39 trillion, and then somebody else gets in and you're up to 45 when by the time you get power back in the office, you know, at some point you're like, we just there's nothing we can really do.
00:16:06.320 --> 00:16:07.440
And I'm not a pessimist.
00:16:07.519 --> 00:16:12.639
So like I would find I I I have solutions for that, and I believe we can solve even that crisis.
00:16:12.799 --> 00:16:13.759
But that's what I'm saying.
00:16:13.919 --> 00:16:24.240
Sometimes it gets you down because you look and you think you're you're looking at how many they're doing, and you start to think to yourself, well, we have like two million as a conservative estimate.
00:16:24.320 --> 00:16:27.600
You have like two million illegal aliens in the state of Texas.
00:16:27.840 --> 00:16:31.519
As a again, at a conservative estimate, it could be significantly higher than that.
00:16:31.679 --> 00:16:32.720
But let's be conservative.
00:16:32.799 --> 00:16:35.519
It's it's say say it's two million Texans, right?
00:16:35.679 --> 00:16:42.080
And and we're we're getting what, 700 a month, assuming that all those cases actually end up in deportations, which we're not sure they will, right?
00:16:42.159 --> 00:16:50.639
But let's assume, for the sake of the argument, just to make it better, that all of them, every single person charged is gonna get deported, right?
00:16:51.200 --> 00:16:57.679
Even then, if you get 700 a month, you if you think about it, over the course of the four years of Trump, you'd you deport 33,000 people.
00:16:58.399 --> 00:17:04.240
Just to be clear, you'd have to have a a hundred Trumps to get the illegals out of Texas at this pace.
00:17:04.640 --> 00:17:06.319
And it's not like this is the first month.
00:17:06.480 --> 00:17:08.319
When he's in, he's having to get the funding back.
00:17:08.559 --> 00:17:12.480
And it's not like Texas is a blue state with a bunch of sanctuary cities where they can't even go in.
00:17:12.559 --> 00:17:16.079
I get Houston doesn't want to cooperate, but they're totally okay with us being there.
00:17:16.880 --> 00:17:31.759
We in a red state, in a conservative state, two years into the administration, are deporting and that's assuming, again, the conservative estimate of the number that are here, and a very strong guess at how many are are actually gonna get deported.
00:17:32.319 --> 00:17:37.680
And so, again, I I'm not really complaining because I know we've had way better months, and I understand there have been weeks where we had like a thousand people.
00:17:38.079 --> 00:17:42.079
So I'm not I'm not actually making that argument that we're not doing it and it's never gonna happen.
00:17:42.319 --> 00:17:57.519
I just am I'm trying to point out that if we're not keeping our eye on the ball and if we're not focused, and if we don't if we don't make sure that every step of the way is lit up and that we say, hey, don't don't fail on this.
00:17:57.680 --> 00:17:59.599
Hey, I know that there's midterms.
00:17:59.680 --> 00:18:07.119
Hey, I know that we're in a legislative session, hey, I know that there's this going on and that going on, and you're having to deal with the media over here, and you're having to deal with that war over there that you got us.
00:18:07.440 --> 00:18:08.640
All this stuff is going on.
00:18:08.720 --> 00:18:13.680
I understand that, but mass deportations is probably the number one reason that you got elected.
00:18:13.920 --> 00:18:16.480
It's probably the number one reason that this administration exists.
00:18:16.640 --> 00:18:20.480
And really, it was the whole reason the first administration existed too, by the way.
00:18:20.799 --> 00:18:22.640
Was oh, guess what?
00:18:22.880 --> 00:18:26.000
2016 Trump, I'm gonna deal with the drug owners and the rapists.
00:18:26.240 --> 00:18:28.400
And the left did not like that phrasing, right?
00:18:28.480 --> 00:18:29.519
That was racist.
00:18:29.839 --> 00:18:31.119
But the right did.
00:18:31.279 --> 00:18:32.160
And we put him in.
00:18:32.400 --> 00:18:34.799
And we got a little bit of border wall.
00:18:35.119 --> 00:18:40.480
And uh, you know, then we got Bay and Kamala Harris, and we ended up, oh no, we don't get any more border wall.
00:18:40.559 --> 00:18:43.599
And hey, also check out these new 50 million illegal aliens.
00:18:43.680 --> 00:18:44.240
How you like that?
00:18:44.319 --> 00:18:45.680
How you like them, apples?
00:18:46.319 --> 00:18:47.920
And then we get Trump part two.
00:18:48.480 --> 00:18:57.200
And now here we are, and we say mass deportations win all the border counties, because they want mass deportations, we're in this situation where this is the reason you win.
00:18:57.359 --> 00:19:02.799
We are being demographically replaced by people from the third world, and we don't like that.
00:19:02.960 --> 00:19:09.359
And you can if you think that makes me a racist for saying that or for admitting it, or for that being the case of how I feel, I I don't care.
00:19:10.000 --> 00:19:13.839
I don't want to be demographically replaced by the third world.
00:19:14.000 --> 00:19:16.720
I quite like what my my ancestors built here.
00:19:16.880 --> 00:19:21.759
And I think under God's providence we were able to build it, and that it's been, I mean, absolutely beautiful.
00:19:22.400 --> 00:19:23.519
I think it's been great.
00:19:23.839 --> 00:19:29.039
And I actually don't want it stripped away, especially not by my own government handing it over to other people.
00:19:29.519 --> 00:19:32.079
And that's what this immigration crisis is.
00:19:32.559 --> 00:19:34.400
And so this is a single issue.
00:19:34.559 --> 00:19:37.680
I don't want to say that I'm a single issue voter because, you know, I'm not.
00:19:38.240 --> 00:19:44.480
Other than, of course, in the midterms, my single issue voter is Republican because I I just know that the Democrats are inevitably worse.
00:19:44.720 --> 00:19:50.799
But on the grand scale of primaries and what matters, immigration is really, really, really up there.
00:19:50.960 --> 00:19:52.160
It is one of the biggest issues.
00:19:52.400 --> 00:20:02.240
If you have an issue with Islam, if you have an issue with Hinduism, if you have an issue with the jobs being replaced, if you have an issue, all of these things are directly tied back to immigration, right?
00:20:03.200 --> 00:20:06.160
And so that's one of the biggest issues.
00:20:06.319 --> 00:20:11.039
And it's the reason I I would argue that we've had Hurlickan leadership in the past decade.
00:20:11.200 --> 00:20:15.519
That's been the main voting issue has been, hey, we're being demographically replaced.
00:20:15.599 --> 00:20:16.960
Can you please fix it?
00:20:17.119 --> 00:20:19.839
Can you please make sure that you get rid of this problem?
00:20:20.079 --> 00:20:23.200
Can you please save us to some degree?
00:20:23.359 --> 00:20:23.519
Right?
00:20:23.599 --> 00:20:25.359
Not relying on him for salvation or anything like that.
00:20:25.440 --> 00:20:28.799
But I'm saying can you can you please get in there and do what needs to be done?
00:20:29.519 --> 00:20:31.359
And$700 a month, right?
00:20:31.599 --> 00:20:36.079
If that's the pace we're gonna be moving at, we need to have some accountability to say, not enough.
00:20:36.559 --> 00:20:37.920
And that's not because we don't like you.
00:20:38.079 --> 00:20:42.079
That's not because we don't think you're good enough, it's not because we don't think that it's possible to ramp up.
00:20:42.559 --> 00:20:47.920
And it's not because we think it's because we, the people, voted for a reason.
00:20:48.240 --> 00:20:54.880
And there's something that we need, and there's a problem that we're facing, and actually it's our responsibility, if that's the case, to speak up.
00:20:55.119 --> 00:20:56.400
That doesn't mean that we're hateful.
00:20:56.480 --> 00:20:57.839
I was saying this a couple weeks ago.
00:20:58.000 --> 00:21:02.160
Ken Paxton saying the midterms convention did not help his campaign is not hateful.
00:21:02.240 --> 00:21:07.440
It's being honest and saying, let's pivot, let's find a different strategy, let's not do this again.
00:21:07.599 --> 00:21:17.599
Not because I don't like Trump, not because I don't like this administration, not because there's any particular candidate I'm saying I don't like, but because I want solutions, I want problem fixed.
00:21:18.160 --> 00:21:21.279
Regardless of how we get there, I want a strategy that works.
00:21:21.440 --> 00:21:25.759
And when we're talking about being replaced in our own country, we need a strategy that works.
00:21:25.920 --> 00:21:30.079
And 700 this month is not going to be the strategy that works.
00:21:30.319 --> 00:21:36.640
Regardless, uh, this says, I am thankful for both Texas Minute right before and your voice at six o'clock.
00:21:36.799 --> 00:21:39.759
By the way, Needville is better than Lake Jackson.
00:21:39.920 --> 00:21:40.160
True.
00:21:40.240 --> 00:21:45.359
I mean, I don't even know if I would are you saying, I hope you're saying the Jay Cafe location.
00:21:45.519 --> 00:21:54.079
Because if you're coming on the show to say that Needville is better than Lake Jackson, you might get some people up in the up in the comments here uh that are that are fighting for Lake Jackson.
00:21:54.160 --> 00:21:57.039
I grew up in Lake Jackson, first five years of my life.
00:21:57.200 --> 00:21:58.960
So I'm I'm a big Lake Jackson fan.
00:21:59.039 --> 00:22:01.599
But no, if if you're Dynamo J Cafe, which I assume you are.
00:22:02.559 --> 00:22:04.400
That's what I think you're saying, because that's what I said.
00:22:04.559 --> 00:22:06.240
You're you're absolutely correct.
00:22:06.480 --> 00:22:07.839
I and I don't know why that is.
00:22:08.079 --> 00:22:14.319
It's just, and again, there might be a little placebo because you know when you go to the Needville location, hey, this is the original.
00:22:14.559 --> 00:22:14.799
Right?
00:22:14.960 --> 00:22:16.240
You know, this is the big one.
00:22:16.400 --> 00:22:17.359
It's always been there.
00:22:17.519 --> 00:22:19.440
You know, this is where they really home make this stuff.
00:22:19.519 --> 00:22:21.920
I bet they just ship it out to the Lake Jackson location.
00:22:22.160 --> 00:22:23.519
Like, I don't know, but that's how you feel.
00:22:23.680 --> 00:22:30.400
So you go to Lake Jackson, and again, Lake Jackson, the location is still better than probably 80% of the other restaurants in Lake Jackson.
00:22:30.480 --> 00:22:31.279
There are some good ones.
00:22:31.359 --> 00:22:33.359
Uh, but it's still really, really good.
00:22:33.599 --> 00:22:38.559
But I think if you had the Lake Jackson location next to the Needville one, you'd quickly notice the Needville one is better.
00:22:38.720 --> 00:22:39.839
And I always get a burger.
00:22:39.920 --> 00:22:48.240
That's basically what I always get if I have, if I'm not on like a really tough diet, I'll just grab a burger because I think the burger at the J Cafe is one of the best things they have.
00:22:48.480 --> 00:22:51.920
Maybe some of their, you know, cobbler with some ice cream.
00:22:52.240 --> 00:22:53.920
You know, if I'm feeling frisky.
00:22:54.000 --> 00:22:55.039
Uh and it's a good time.
00:22:55.119 --> 00:22:56.240
I really like the J Cafe.
00:22:56.400 --> 00:22:57.359
I'm a big fan.
00:22:57.680 --> 00:23:00.960
But yeah, yeah, need the location, certainly better than Lake Jackson.
00:23:01.039 --> 00:23:04.240
And I appreciate your text in and for letting us know how much the shows matter to you.
00:23:04.400 --> 00:23:05.920
I'm glad that we can be an influence.
00:23:06.079 --> 00:23:11.839
That's what I was I was praying for last night was that, you know, I I I'm not the most eloquent person in the world.
00:23:12.000 --> 00:23:12.480
I know that.
00:23:12.640 --> 00:23:13.599
I'm aware of that.
00:23:13.759 --> 00:23:15.920
I'm not the smartest person in the world.
00:23:16.000 --> 00:23:17.119
I certainly know that, right?
00:23:17.200 --> 00:23:23.440
I've I've I've there have been plenty of people I've listened to that I go, yeah, that guy certainly brighter than me.
00:23:23.680 --> 00:23:31.440
But what I do have is passion and the ability to speak the truth without being worried about what it gets me called, so I just don't censor myself.
00:23:31.599 --> 00:23:32.880
Sometimes that's a bad thing, by the way.
00:23:32.960 --> 00:23:34.079
Sometimes it gets you in trouble.
00:23:34.319 --> 00:23:40.799
But I do have that particular I don't know if there's a condition, but the condition is that I can't seem to shut my mouth uh with strategy.
00:23:41.119 --> 00:23:43.920
Hence why I wouldn't make a great elected official.
00:23:44.319 --> 00:23:48.400
Because the things I say on the show, I would also say on the campaign trail, then I would just lose.
00:23:48.640 --> 00:23:51.039
So but I'm glad that you guys appreciate it.
00:23:51.119 --> 00:23:54.240
And thank you so much for texting in and letting us know here on the show.
00:23:54.480 --> 00:23:56.880
You're really the best audience I could possibly have asked for.
00:23:56.960 --> 00:24:01.039
You're willing to put up with my voice for maybe multiple hours.
00:24:01.279 --> 00:24:08.079
So clearly, you guys are are really, you know, very, very I I guess I'll go with the word tough.
00:24:08.160 --> 00:24:09.200
That's the word I'll use.
00:24:09.440 --> 00:24:12.400
Regardless, I have another kind of border story.
00:24:12.720 --> 00:24:18.640
A Cuban national has now been sentenced to 17 years for trafficking women.
00:24:18.880 --> 00:24:28.079
Federal prosecutors are saying that the man forced three Cuban women to work seven days a week in strip clubs to repay smuggling debts up to$50,000.
00:24:28.720 --> 00:24:34.720
We'll talk all about the details of that case, of the sentencing, and of how these people got here in the first place.
00:24:34.880 --> 00:24:44.000
When we get back from the break, as always, if you would like to text into the show, let us know your thoughts on any of the stuff we're covering, anything that we're not, anything that you want to hear more about, right?
00:24:44.160 --> 00:24:48.000
Anything that maybe there's a story I haven't even talked about at all, uh, or something a story.
00:24:48.079 --> 00:24:51.119
Maybe it's just I have a logical question about your belief on something.
00:24:51.200 --> 00:24:56.000
Uh, you can always ask that at 713-779-5978.
00:24:56.079 --> 00:25:01.519
Again, you can text in at 713-779-KYST.
00:25:01.599 --> 00:25:02.880
I'm your host, Michael Wilson.
00:25:02.960 --> 00:25:09.440
You're listening to the Lone Star Conservative, and Lord willing to be right back with the rest of that Cuban National after the break.

00:29:28.720 --> 00:29:31.039
We got another text in it says, Good morning, Michael.
00:29:31.119 --> 00:29:34.880
I'm up with you most mornings because part of my job includes lots of windshield time.
00:29:35.039 --> 00:29:36.880
Your show is great and absolutely worth listening to.
00:29:37.039 --> 00:29:38.640
Hope to make out this evening.
00:29:38.799 --> 00:29:39.680
Have a blessed day.
00:29:39.839 --> 00:29:41.440
Speaking of this evening, we would love to have you.
00:29:41.519 --> 00:29:43.039
Uh first of all, thank you for the text in.
00:29:43.119 --> 00:29:45.440
I'm again, it's just toys people who get to listen to the show.
00:29:45.519 --> 00:29:46.480
I love you guys so much.
00:29:46.559 --> 00:29:48.559
I you really are the best show in the world.
00:29:48.720 --> 00:29:55.920
I mean, I'm sure, I'm sure that every single radio host across the country would say, my audience is the best.
00:29:56.079 --> 00:30:02.559
My audience, but the difference is, and there's a big difference, and I can prove it, the difference is when I say it, I'm right.
00:30:02.799 --> 00:30:07.200
That's the difference, is that when I say I have the best audience, that's actually just true.
00:30:07.440 --> 00:30:07.680
Right?
00:30:07.759 --> 00:30:10.240
Because I don't I don't lie and I speak the truth.
00:30:10.480 --> 00:30:14.319
When I say it, it's because it's accurate and actually happens to be the case.
00:30:14.400 --> 00:30:18.160
And I'm sure they would all try to defend that, but they just all everybody else would be wrong.
00:30:18.240 --> 00:30:19.759
And that's kind of how it just works.
00:30:20.160 --> 00:30:25.200
But we would love to see you tonight again for those who weren't tuned in from 4 to 7 p.m.
00:30:25.359 --> 00:30:25.839
this evening.
00:30:26.160 --> 00:30:27.359
Today is October 20th.
00:30:27.440 --> 00:30:29.039
It is Tuesday, 2A Tuesday.
00:30:29.200 --> 00:30:36.559
Tonight, starting at 4 p.m., running till 7 p.m., that we will have our 2A Tuesday happy hour at Collector's Firearms.
00:30:36.640 --> 00:30:45.680
That'll mean free food, free drinks, free show, um, Todd Starns, GOA, armed attorneys, free firearm giveaway at the works.
00:30:45.759 --> 00:30:47.359
And uh literally everything is free.
00:30:47.680 --> 00:30:51.200
So, I mean, unless you like want to sign up with the armed attorneys while you're there for their legal program.
00:30:51.599 --> 00:30:52.160
That's not free.
00:30:52.400 --> 00:31:01.200
But I'm saying they just attending the drinks, the food, the show, hanging out, getting a a f maybe maybe one person winning a firearm rate, that's that's all free.
00:31:02.000 --> 00:31:04.240
And so we would love to see you, we would love to have you.
00:31:04.400 --> 00:31:08.640
Uh for those of you who can't make it, well you should have.
00:31:08.880 --> 00:31:09.759
That's what I have to say.
00:31:09.839 --> 00:31:10.480
You should have made it.
00:31:10.559 --> 00:31:11.359
You should come out.
00:31:11.599 --> 00:31:12.640
Now let's get into this.
00:31:12.799 --> 00:31:28.240
A Cuban national illegally residing in the US has been sentenced to more than 17 years in federal prison for trafficking three women from Cuba and forcing them to work in strip clubs across multiple states, of course, including Texas, hence the tie into the show.
00:31:29.200 --> 00:31:30.000
Yoerlin?
00:31:30.240 --> 00:31:31.279
I don't know how to pronounce his name.
00:31:31.440 --> 00:31:33.519
Y-O-I-R-L-A-N.
00:31:33.920 --> 00:31:34.960
A name I've never seen before.
00:31:35.200 --> 00:31:35.599
Yoy.
00:31:35.759 --> 00:31:37.920
It feels Yoer Yoyerlin.
00:31:38.559 --> 00:31:48.319
Yoyerlin Tom Rojas was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to three counts of labor trafficking, according to the U.S.
00:31:48.400 --> 00:31:50.880
Attorney's Office for the Western District of Texas.
00:31:51.039 --> 00:31:56.240
Federal prosecutors said that Tom Rojas arranged for the women to enter the U.S.
00:31:56.480 --> 00:32:03.039
by paying for flights, hotels, drivers, and smugglers who transported them across the U.S.-Mexico border.
00:32:03.200 --> 00:32:14.640
Once in the country, the women were charged up to fifty thousand dollars for each travel cost and forced to work in strip clubs seven days a week in order to repay that money.
00:32:14.880 --> 00:32:19.039
The women reportedly feared for their safety and the safety of their families in Cuba.
00:32:19.279 --> 00:32:28.480
Tome Rojas transported the women between Indiana, Detroit, and San Antonio, requiring them to surrender all their earnings while prohibiting them from leaving or ending their work until their debts were paid.
00:32:28.720 --> 00:32:34.000
Prosecutors said he continued adding expenses for food, clothing, housing, and transportation to their outstanding balances, right?
00:32:34.079 --> 00:32:35.599
Oh, well, I'm still feeding you while you're here.
00:32:35.759 --> 00:32:38.400
Oh, well, I'm still transporting you between cities so that you can work.
00:32:38.559 --> 00:32:42.480
And before you know it, you have to work the rest of your life, and he's skimming off the top.
00:32:42.799 --> 00:32:52.880
Two of the victims remained under his control for approximately three months, during which he claimed they had paid only about$1,000 toward their debts, uh, which means that that there's a real issue, right?
00:32:52.960 --> 00:32:55.200
That means they're only making$300 a month at strip clubs.
00:32:55.279 --> 00:32:56.880
I don't know if strip clubs have fallen out of fashion.
00:32:56.960 --> 00:32:57.680
I've never been.
00:32:57.839 --> 00:32:59.440
Maybe they're just not popular anymore.
00:32:59.519 --> 00:33:02.480
Maybe they've really kind of fallen off the radar and you can't make much.
00:33:02.640 --> 00:33:03.359
I don't know.
00:33:03.680 --> 00:33:07.839
But$300 a month feels I mean, that's what?
00:33:08.720 --> 00:33:12.559
$80 a week, less,$70,$75 a week.
00:33:12.799 --> 00:33:14.400
Um, no, no, no.
00:33:15.200 --> 00:33:17.920
Yeah,$80,$80,$90,$90 a week.
00:33:18.000 --> 00:33:20.000
We'll say$95,$95 a week.
00:33:20.160 --> 00:33:20.880
Regardless.
00:33:21.119 --> 00:33:22.319
That is absurd.
00:33:22.799 --> 00:33:24.880
That is an absolutely absurd amount.
00:33:25.440 --> 00:33:28.319
And you know, you have to no, it's$75 a week.
00:33:28.400 --> 00:33:28.960
What am I talking about?
00:33:29.119 --> 00:33:29.839
$75 a week.
00:33:30.000 --> 00:33:30.799
Can we can we get back?
00:33:31.039 --> 00:33:31.839
Get back to the story.
00:33:32.160 --> 00:33:37.200
$75 a week that he's charging where he's saying, hey, you've only paid a thousand dollars.
00:33:37.519 --> 00:33:41.759
At the end of this, you kind of recognize, okay, this is something that's happening.
00:33:41.839 --> 00:33:43.440
And by the way, this is not a one-off.
00:33:43.680 --> 00:33:47.759
This is a consistent problem that we've known about for years.
00:33:48.000 --> 00:33:54.880
We have understood that the human trafficking issue across the US-Mexico border has been at an all-time high for decades.
00:33:55.519 --> 00:33:57.519
That we've had these particular issues.
00:33:57.680 --> 00:34:02.160
And the left, as with everything else that happens at the border, wants to ignore these cases.
00:34:02.240 --> 00:34:10.639
That illegal immigration is just happy go lucky, people get in and have a good time and they change their lives for the better, and it's all sunshine and rainbows, and they ignore stories like this.
00:34:10.800 --> 00:34:14.559
They ignore cases like this where men are doing these sorts of things.
00:34:14.880 --> 00:34:16.079
And I don't want to ignore it.
00:34:16.159 --> 00:34:27.199
I I wanna I wanna, you know, know, hey, this stuff is going on, and it's our job at least with our within our borders, to prevent this sort of evil and to prevent this sort of thing from happening.
00:34:27.679 --> 00:34:29.519
And the reality is we could easily do that.
00:34:29.679 --> 00:34:32.559
It means, first of all, shutting off the border where they can't get in the first place.
00:34:32.719 --> 00:34:43.280
It also means when we catch guys like this, that we give them harsh penalties, like you know, you know, the there's a time and place where if you are sexually trafficking women, I feel like that qualifies for maybe our worst penalty.
00:34:43.360 --> 00:34:44.719
I feel like that that might qualify.
00:34:44.880 --> 00:34:45.920
That's just my thoughts on that.
00:34:46.000 --> 00:34:48.800
We could ask, you know, Pete Heggseth what he thinks about it.
00:34:49.039 --> 00:34:51.119
Regardless, that's what we have to do.
00:34:51.360 --> 00:34:52.320
These people exist.
00:34:52.559 --> 00:34:58.960
These people exist in our country, they've taken advantage of our country, they've abused, they've hurt, they've used.
00:34:59.199 --> 00:35:00.400
It's absolutely evil.
00:35:00.559 --> 00:35:06.239
And I think there has to be an understanding that these sorts of people are the kind of people coming across our border.
00:35:06.320 --> 00:35:20.719
And I'm not saying that everyone that comes across the border is exactly the same, but I am saying that the right understands there are some that just want to work and there are some like this, and none of them should come, and the left wants to pretend that there's none like this, that this isn't a problem, much less a consistent one.
00:35:20.880 --> 00:35:23.599
And that's because they're dishonest, and they'll even lie to themselves.
00:35:23.760 --> 00:35:28.320
So that they just lie to you, they'll try to pretend themselves that these cases don't exist.
00:35:28.719 --> 00:35:36.400
When you know, what was it, Sound of Hope came out, they said, no, no, no, that's just I mean, that's a right-wing conspiracy nut guy.
00:35:36.480 --> 00:35:39.280
I mean, is this really what you and it's like this is based on a true story.
00:35:39.519 --> 00:35:40.480
What are you talking about?
00:35:40.639 --> 00:35:44.559
This is a you want to pretend that child tra child sex trafficking isn't happening?
00:35:44.719 --> 00:35:46.079
Why do you want to cover that up?
00:35:46.320 --> 00:35:52.079
And it was a lot of leftists, not even just the media, it was a lot of people that didn't want to admit that it was happening.
00:35:52.239 --> 00:36:01.199
And it's because they recognize where sin leads and where their policies lead and where moral subjectivity leads, turns out, leads to really bad stuff.
00:36:01.599 --> 00:36:07.440
Now, with that being said, when we get back from the break, of course we're gonna jump over and get into Italy.
00:36:07.679 --> 00:36:11.920
Because an Italian court has now denied legally's extradition.
00:36:12.960 --> 00:36:18.639
I mean, this this case, the number of twists and turns in it has been, I mean, just nauseous, nauseating.
00:36:18.800 --> 00:36:25.760
If you if you if if twists and turns made you sick, this this story would have you would have been just vomiting everywhere.
00:36:26.079 --> 00:36:31.599
Because um the return is still possible, but again, the Italian court is saying, no, we're not gonna extradite him quite yet.
00:36:31.679 --> 00:36:34.239
No, you have to meet more of our demands before we'll send him back.
00:36:34.400 --> 00:36:36.320
I mean, this is a humiliation ritual for the U.S.
00:36:36.480 --> 00:36:37.119
is what it is.
00:36:37.280 --> 00:36:42.559
This is no, we're your big brother now, and you will listen to us, uh, Italy trying to be the big man on campus.
00:36:42.719 --> 00:36:43.679
We'll talk about it when we get back.
00:36:43.760 --> 00:36:47.599

00:41:14.400 --> 00:41:22.000
An Italian court has now denied Lee Gilly's extradition to Texas to stand trial on capital murder in the death of his pregnant wife, who he allegedly murdered.
00:41:22.159 --> 00:41:29.280
But officials will grant his return if prosecutors seek a lesser charge of murder instead, according to Gilly's attorney yesterday.
00:41:29.440 --> 00:41:40.320
The Italian court issued a 56-page ruling yesterday prohibiting Gilly's extradition as long as Harris County District Attorney Shawn Tier's office continues to pursue the capital murder charge against him.
00:41:40.480 --> 00:41:44.320
That's according to Dick Deguerin, who is one of Gilly's criminal defense attorneys.
00:41:44.480 --> 00:41:50.639
They would consider extradition if prosecutors sought murder, which would guarantee the possibility of parole against Gilly instead.
00:41:50.880 --> 00:42:04.079
The overseas court has taken exception to the possibility that Gilly could be executed or remain incarcerated for the rest of his life if convicted as the death penalty and life imprisonment without parole doesn't exist in the Italian criminal justice system.
00:42:04.639 --> 00:42:20.400
The current charge against Gilly, which accuses him of killing his wife and his baby, carries an automatic punishment of life imprisonment without parole and sometimes execution, while a murder offense could result in a prison sentence ranging from five years to life with parole.
00:42:26.000 --> 00:42:28.880
That they demanded, well, you you can't seek the death penalty in this case.
00:42:29.039 --> 00:42:35.519
I know that he murdered if he's proven guilty, then that would assume that he murdered his wife and his unborn child.
00:42:35.679 --> 00:42:38.400
But you can't, you're not allowed to seek the death penalty over there in America.
00:42:38.559 --> 00:42:40.400
Well, first of all, I'm sorry.
00:42:40.559 --> 00:42:42.960
You don't get to tell us what to do, but apparently we do.
00:42:43.039 --> 00:42:44.079
We let them dictate the terms.
00:42:44.159 --> 00:42:51.039
So Chantier, doing his little humiliation ritual, panders up and he goes, Okay, I for sure won't seek the death penalty.
00:42:51.119 --> 00:42:52.239
I'll even sign my name to it.
00:42:52.320 --> 00:42:53.199
I won't, I won't seek it.
00:42:53.440 --> 00:42:55.440
Okay, first of all, buddy, you weren't gonna seek it anyway.
00:42:55.519 --> 00:42:56.239
Let's be honest.
00:42:56.400 --> 00:42:59.360
Does anybody think Chantier is seeking the death penalty?
00:42:59.599 --> 00:42:59.920
No.
00:43:00.239 --> 00:43:01.920
That requires a backbone, okay?
00:43:02.079 --> 00:43:04.000
That requires a spine because it's not fun.
00:43:04.159 --> 00:43:05.039
It shouldn't be fun.
00:43:05.280 --> 00:43:07.039
But sometimes it's what justice demands.
00:43:07.280 --> 00:43:12.960
Regardless, Gilly's attorneys were then expected to appeal the court's ruling the next 15 days.
00:43:13.280 --> 00:43:17.360
And so they were expected that, okay, he said he wouldn't seek the death penalty, so they'll send him back.
00:43:17.440 --> 00:43:18.639
But then they said, no, no, no.
00:43:18.880 --> 00:43:18.960
No.
00:43:19.360 --> 00:43:20.320
We asked for an inch.
00:43:20.480 --> 00:43:21.840
Now we're gonna ask for a mile.
00:43:22.000 --> 00:43:23.599
Now you can't even seek that charge.
00:43:23.760 --> 00:43:27.199
Because in addition to the death penalty, we also don't want him to get life without parole.
00:43:27.440 --> 00:43:29.840
We want him to have the opportunity to get back out again.
00:43:30.079 --> 00:43:35.039
And again, Italy is telling us how we have to do this.
00:43:35.679 --> 00:43:36.800
Man, I knew.
00:43:36.960 --> 00:43:39.679
Dude, I knew there was a reason we didn't like them Italians.
00:43:39.760 --> 00:43:40.960
Them Italians were no good.
00:43:41.119 --> 00:43:41.679
I knew it.
00:43:41.840 --> 00:43:43.280
I knew there was something dirty about it.
00:43:43.519 --> 00:43:43.920
I'm kidding.
00:43:44.079 --> 00:43:44.559
I'm kidding.
00:43:44.639 --> 00:43:47.119
First of all, if you're Italian, don't take offense.
00:43:47.199 --> 00:43:51.199
I'm joking, but your people are really messing it up for everybody.
00:43:51.360 --> 00:43:52.880
Okay, there's something wrong here.
00:43:53.280 --> 00:43:56.400
And I'm I'm really sick and tired of us being bossed around this way.
00:43:56.480 --> 00:44:00.480
I I really do think there's a time for federal involvement in these sorts of Cases.
00:44:00.639 --> 00:44:08.559
I know this is generally a localized problem and Harris County is dealing with Italy and whatever because they're roughly comparable in size.
00:44:08.800 --> 00:44:12.960
But really, the federal government should be going to Italy right now and saying, you give us our man.
00:44:13.119 --> 00:44:15.679
And and all the signatures before this mean nothing, by the way.
00:44:15.840 --> 00:44:16.559
He's getting to that.
00:44:16.719 --> 00:44:19.039
Like, we'll we'll give him whatever we want to give him back off.
00:44:19.360 --> 00:44:24.639
Like, there needs to be a level of accountability here, because Italy should not be allowed to behave like this.
00:44:24.800 --> 00:44:25.599
Can we be honest?
00:44:25.840 --> 00:44:29.840
Italy should not be allowed to treat us the way they're treating us.
00:44:30.000 --> 00:44:32.159
I I don't quote me on the whole Italy thing.
00:44:32.239 --> 00:44:35.440
I I was kidding about the whole thing, we don't like the Italians.
00:44:35.599 --> 00:44:36.480
I was joking.
00:44:36.639 --> 00:44:43.760
I was just making the point that there was a f there was a time in American history where we didn't love them, and maybe it's because they act like this.
00:44:43.920 --> 00:44:44.639
I I don't know.
00:44:44.719 --> 00:44:45.039
I don't know.
00:44:45.119 --> 00:44:45.840
I wasn't around.
00:44:45.920 --> 00:44:47.599
I can't make a determination on it.
00:44:47.679 --> 00:44:48.639
I I wasn't there.
00:44:48.800 --> 00:44:50.400
So I can't know.
00:44:50.559 --> 00:44:51.280
Um I'm kidding.
00:44:51.440 --> 00:44:52.639
I'm obviously joking.
00:44:52.880 --> 00:44:57.360
I mean, it's so I'm I'm kidding, but this is this is a problem.
00:44:57.519 --> 00:44:58.480
I mean, this is a real problem.
00:44:58.639 --> 00:45:07.280
And not just in this particular case, I'm being dead serious because if we allow them and we allow other countries to start saying, oh, man, if you want this, sign that.
00:45:07.440 --> 00:45:08.559
If you want this, do that.
00:45:08.719 --> 00:45:10.639
Now we're negotiating with terrorists, is how it feels.
00:45:10.719 --> 00:45:11.440
That's how this feels.
00:45:12.159 --> 00:45:13.280
You can't take the death penalty.
00:45:13.760 --> 00:45:14.960
You can't see no, no.
00:45:15.119 --> 00:45:15.920
I've had enough.
00:45:16.079 --> 00:45:18.800
Just go in there and threaten them and say, we tried the carrot.
00:45:18.880 --> 00:45:19.360
We tried the carrot.
00:45:19.440 --> 00:45:20.719
We signed our name to the death penalty thing.
00:45:20.800 --> 00:45:21.280
You didn't like it.
00:45:21.440 --> 00:45:22.079
Stick time.
00:45:22.159 --> 00:45:23.519
Now it's we're poking you now.
00:45:23.679 --> 00:45:25.280
Now, now it's time for the stick.
00:45:25.519 --> 00:45:27.039
And that's what has to happen.
00:45:27.360 --> 00:45:30.000
We get back, we're going to wrap up the first hour of the show with our weather report.
00:45:30.079 --> 00:45:33.039

00:46:57.679 --> 00:47:00.960
Your journey starts at hc.edu.
00:47:01.360 --> 00:47:03.840
That's hc.edu.
00:47:04.960 --> 00:47:08.719
Medicare Minute with Justin White is brought to you by Senior Health Services.
00:47:09.039 --> 00:47:19.840
If you are of Medicare AIDS or getting close or you have a loved one that is, be careful with those unsolicited phone calls that I know you know about.
00:47:20.000 --> 00:47:22.159
We get told about them all the time.
00:47:22.400 --> 00:47:26.079
What you need to know is that many of those phone calls are not even legal.
00:47:26.239 --> 00:47:28.719
They're coming from offshore call centers.
00:47:28.880 --> 00:47:32.559
Sometimes they're calling regardless of whether you're on the do not call list.
00:47:32.719 --> 00:47:34.000
Isn't that nice of them, by the way?
00:47:34.079 --> 00:47:37.840
It's really sweet of them to just do that because they are thinking that they can't get caught.
00:47:38.079 --> 00:47:44.079
Bottom line is when you get on there and you talk to them, they're already kind of operating sidelong of what should be done.
00:47:44.159 --> 00:47:48.000
And sometimes people end up in plans that they did not intend to enroll in.
00:47:48.159 --> 00:47:49.360
And so what do you do?
00:47:49.599 --> 00:47:50.800
Call somebody local.
00:47:50.960 --> 00:47:54.559
If you got a local agent, my gosh, call them and get in front of them.
00:47:54.719 --> 00:48:03.679
And if you don't have a good agent, think of an organization like Senior Health Services where you can sit down, talk about what you're looking for, and get the help that you need.
00:48:03.840 --> 00:48:10.800
You don't need to be talking to phone operators in other countries that you don't know who they are, where they are, or what in the world they're doing.
00:48:11.119 --> 00:48:14.320
Medicare choices are easier with a professional in your corner.
00:48:14.480 --> 00:48:19.760
Senior Health Services is not associated with the government, so you know you can trust them.

And if you want to go down range, guess what?
00:48:56.800 --> 00:48:57.679
We can do that too.

00:49:40.880 --> 00:49:42.000
It's Eric Jurgson.
00:49:42.079 --> 00:49:47.599
Join me tonight at 9 on Patriot Talk 920 and online at PatriotTalk920.com.
00:50:00.239 --> 00:50:01.760
Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen.
00:50:01.840 --> 00:50:06.000
I'm your host, Michael Wilson, and you're listening to the Lone Star Conservative here on Patriot 920.
00:50:06.079 --> 00:50:11.840
We've got a text in, and it says, I'm thankful for the weather report that you give.
00:50:12.079 --> 00:50:14.239
I I I actually really enjoy the weather report.
00:50:14.320 --> 00:50:19.679
When I first started the show, my weather report consisted of it's currently this temperature outside, and we'll probably hit around these highs today.
00:50:19.920 --> 00:50:23.039
And now I give I give a solid segment dedicated to the weather report.
00:50:23.119 --> 00:50:25.119
Just to wrap up the first hour of the show, it's always a good time.
00:50:25.280 --> 00:50:30.400
Kind of calm down before we get into the guests and the big second hour where we have all the updates.
00:50:30.719 --> 00:50:33.920
But let's get into the weather report that you guys uh and again, you're not the first.
00:50:34.079 --> 00:50:36.639
I've been told this uh numerous times by numerous people.
00:50:36.800 --> 00:50:39.599
They really, really appreciate the weather report.
00:50:39.760 --> 00:50:42.159
So thanks guys for texting in by the way today.
00:50:42.239 --> 00:50:43.440
You guys are absolutely awesome.
00:50:43.519 --> 00:50:44.079
I appreciate it.
00:50:44.159 --> 00:50:45.440
And thanks for liking the weather report.
00:50:45.519 --> 00:50:46.079
Here we go.
00:50:46.320 --> 00:50:48.159
It's in summer in Houston.
00:50:48.320 --> 00:50:50.559
Most people are generally familiar with the impacts of high pressure.
00:50:50.719 --> 00:50:51.679
I I would assume.
00:50:51.840 --> 00:50:54.880
Um we get sunshine, lots of heat, humidity.
00:50:55.280 --> 00:50:59.599
But what happens when that high pressure kind of presents itself later in the year during the middle of fall?
00:50:59.760 --> 00:51:00.719
Well, we're about to find out.
00:51:00.800 --> 00:51:06.639
We're about to find out what happens because instead of highs in the mid to upper nineties, we are likely to see highs in the mid-80s.
00:51:06.800 --> 00:51:10.639
And instead of lows in the upper seventies, generally it will be about fifteen degrees or so cooler.
00:51:11.440 --> 00:51:19.599
Also, thanks to mostly northeasterly winds, we'll see dew points in the fifties to lower sixties, which will take a lot of the stickiness, mugginess, humidity out of the air.
00:51:19.679 --> 00:51:24.880
Uh, and I hope you like it, because this pattern is not going anywhere for at least a a hot minute.
00:51:25.119 --> 00:51:28.159
Today will be, and you you kind of guessed it, it'll be sunny, right?
00:51:28.320 --> 00:51:31.519
Highs should reach in the lower eighties with light northeasterly winds.
00:51:31.599 --> 00:51:37.199
There'll be some showers offshore, uh, but I don't anticipate that these are going to migrate anywhere close to us.
00:51:37.440 --> 00:51:42.880
Uh tonight will be a little warmer with lows only falling into the mid-sixties, but this should be the exception rather than the rule.
00:51:43.119 --> 00:51:48.400
Also, high temperatures during this period, which is Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, will be in the mid-80s.
00:51:48.639 --> 00:51:58.880
Sunny skies, generally light north and northeasterly winds, which will continue to bring just enough dry air into the region to keep our humidity lower and help overnight lows fall to around 60 degrees.
00:51:58.960 --> 00:52:00.239
We'll have more sunshine this weekend.
00:52:00.320 --> 00:52:04.159
Highs will generally be in the low to mid-80s, overnight temperatures in the low to mid-sixties.
00:52:04.400 --> 00:52:08.800
Uh, there may be gusty winds over the weekend, and then next week not much is going to change.
00:52:08.880 --> 00:52:10.559
Uh, more sunshine, more 80s.
00:52:10.719 --> 00:52:13.679
So we'll update you guys as the week moves forward to see if there's any changes.
00:52:13.760 --> 00:52:17.440
But right now, this appears to be the pattern, so I really do hope you enjoyed it.
00:52:17.519 --> 00:52:19.280
I actually think it's beautiful, I think it's perfect.
00:52:19.360 --> 00:52:21.199
Uh, regardless, that'll do it for the first hour of the show.
00:52:21.280 --> 00:52:23.519
John Vilenko from GOA coming on after the break.
00:52:23.599 --> 00:52:27.199
You will not want to miss that interview for two-way Tuesday brought to you by Collectors Firearms.
00:52:27.280 --> 00:52:33.679
Text in 713-779-5978, and we'll be right back at the top of the next hour.
00:52:44.079 --> 00:52:50.320
From deep in the heart of Texas, Houston's God-loving patriot, the voice of reason.
00:52:50.639 --> 00:52:54.639
This is the post-star conservative, Michael Wilson.
00:53:10.960 --> 00:53:12.480
Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen.
00:53:12.559 --> 00:53:19.280
I'm your host, Michael Wilson, and you're listening to the Lone Star Conservative right here on Patriot Talk 920.
00:53:19.599 --> 00:53:28.559
And it is 2A Tuesday brought to you by Collectors' Firearms, which means we have two Second Amendment guests coming on the show every Tuesday for you guys here on the show for our listeners.
00:53:28.719 --> 00:53:29.920
And we've got a big day ahead of us.
00:53:30.000 --> 00:53:38.159
Of course, tonight we're hosting another 2A Tuesday happy hour down at Collectors Firearms, bringing together Second Amendment advocates, candidates, attorneys, a few familiar faces.
00:53:38.320 --> 00:53:39.440
It'll be a very good time.
00:53:39.599 --> 00:53:49.679
But joining me here on the show for the show portion of the 2A Tuesday is John Valeco with Gun Owners of America, coming on as the executive vice president, by the way, of Gun Owners of America.
00:53:49.840 --> 00:54:02.960
An organization that, of course, we all know here on the show has been on the front lines fighting at every turn gun control, anti-Second Amendment rhetoric, whether that's in the legislature, with candidates, uh, in in the court system, by the way.
00:54:03.119 --> 00:54:07.360
And joining me to talk about all that and what you guys need to do is John Vileco with GOA.
00:54:07.440 --> 00:54:08.320
Welcome to the show, John.
00:54:08.880 --> 00:54:09.920
Hey, Michael, thank you.
00:54:10.000 --> 00:54:11.119
It's it's a pleasure to be here.
00:54:11.280 --> 00:54:18.239
Um uh our office is in the DC area, but I'm in San Antonio this morning, and I'll be with you in Houston later this afternoon.
00:54:18.320 --> 00:54:23.119
And I I have to say, I just love coming to Texas because when the government and D.C.
00:54:23.280 --> 00:54:29.039
attacks their gun rights, this is where we come to fight back, and I hope we could get into that a little bit this morning.
00:54:29.280 --> 00:54:29.920
Absolutely.
00:54:30.079 --> 00:54:36.880
And I tell you what, you know, I actually I was up in, I lived in uh around DC when I was six years old, just for a handful of months.
00:54:36.960 --> 00:54:41.440
My dad had a work detail, and then I moved back there for college for a couple years.
00:54:41.599 --> 00:54:48.639
Um, and I I love Virginia, I love the mountains, but there's just something special about Texas that you just I mean, you can't find it anywhere else.
00:54:48.719 --> 00:54:52.480
I don't even know how to describe it really, um, other than it's still kind of feeling like the Wild West.
00:54:52.719 --> 00:54:54.480
And so I'm I'm sure it is good to be down here.
00:54:54.559 --> 00:54:55.760
I love it down here.
00:54:55.920 --> 00:55:02.000
Um one of the big fights we have down here right now that I want to get into with you is actually Paxton and Taller Rico.
00:55:02.079 --> 00:55:05.440
Um, that I frankly am a little shocked for having to deal with it to this extent.
00:55:05.599 --> 00:55:07.840
I don't think anybody expected it to feel this close.
00:55:08.000 --> 00:55:08.800
I think we're still gonna win.
00:55:08.880 --> 00:55:09.840
We're gonna pull it off.
00:55:09.920 --> 00:55:12.800
Uh, but I don't think people expected it to feel as close as it does.
00:55:12.960 --> 00:55:14.000
Can you kind of walk us through?
00:55:14.079 --> 00:55:15.599
I'm hearing that Paxton is y'all's guy.
00:55:15.679 --> 00:55:16.320
Walk us through that.
00:55:16.400 --> 00:55:22.880
Uh, I think there was kind of an endorsement before we even got to this point in the election, now that we have early voting here and the election day coming up.
00:55:22.960 --> 00:55:24.960
Uh what does that sort of come from?
00:55:25.360 --> 00:55:32.800
I was I'll sure get into that, but but first I just want to highlight something that you alluded to, and that is we gotta get out to vote.
00:55:32.960 --> 00:55:36.000
We you know, apathy is not gonna work right now.
00:55:36.159 --> 00:55:43.280
And and really, you know, if if this country, if conservatives and the second amendment lose Texas, there's nowhere else to go.
00:55:43.519 --> 00:55:47.440
So we everyone listening, you know, early voting started yesterday.
00:55:47.599 --> 00:55:49.039
So just get to the polls.
00:55:49.280 --> 00:55:52.480
But um your your question, what we do with Paxton.
00:55:52.639 --> 00:56:05.440
So just recently, I mean, Paxton has a long record as an A-plus state legislator, but when the uh Biden administration came into power, he came after the Second Amendment relentlessly.
00:56:05.679 --> 00:56:08.239
And that's why I say GOA came to Texas.
00:56:08.320 --> 00:56:22.880
We joined with Kim Paxton in lawsuits against Biden first on the pistol brace ban, which would have banned uh executively without legislation, over 40 million brace firings, and we went to court, and we won.
00:56:22.960 --> 00:56:30.320
We won a nationwide injunction on that, so that all of the Texans and GOA members were covered still are that injunction.
00:56:30.559 --> 00:56:41.760
Um Biden has another executive, or he finds another executive action that would have made private sales um go through the federal government or you go to prison.
00:56:41.840 --> 00:56:53.920
So if you have a gun, you want to sell it to your neighbor, that your own personal, private, individually owned, constitutionally protected piece of firearm, and you want to sell it to your neighbor.
00:56:54.239 --> 00:56:57.440
Well, if you don't go through the government, you go to prison.
00:56:57.760 --> 00:57:09.360
And we took that to court in Texas, we won, and we won an injunction nationwide, and recently um that injunction became permanent and applies to everyone in the whole country, so that's just gone.
00:57:09.599 --> 00:57:30.320
And then most recently, uh we took on part of the National Firearms Act of 1934, and we got uh relief uh uh district court judge, federal district judge in Texas ruled unconstitutional the zero dollar tax on certain enterprise items like uh firearm suppressors and uh short bill rifles and shots.
00:57:30.719 --> 00:57:41.440
A lot of people don't know if you have a uh shotgun or rifle that's a quarter of an inch below a uh certain limit, either 16 or 18 inches, depending on the firearm.
00:57:41.679 --> 00:57:42.719
Uh you go to prison.
00:57:42.880 --> 00:57:43.039
Yeah.
00:57:43.280 --> 00:57:59.599
And yeah, that's uh it's dangerous and it's unconstitutional, and and suppressors are an extremely popular item, and uh having to wait 18 months and and give your picture and fingerprints to the federal government to exercise that right was clearly unconstitutional.
00:57:59.840 --> 00:58:12.239
We went to court with Ken Paxton and GOA and we won, and we won an injunction, and now that um the Trump administration has applied that to everyone in the country where it's legal to own them at the state level.
00:58:12.480 --> 00:58:22.639
So those are some big wins that we've had with Ken Paxton, and um the guy is is relentless, he's tireless, he's a fighter, and that's what we need.
00:58:22.719 --> 00:58:27.840
And he stands in sharp contrast to this guy he's running against.
00:58:28.079 --> 00:58:28.400
I don't know.
00:58:28.559 --> 00:58:33.199
I guess he he maybe he claims to be pro-gun, just like he claims to read the Bible.
00:58:33.280 --> 00:58:42.159
I'm not sure what Bible he's reading, I'm not sure what constitution he's reading, but it's not the one I read because he does not trust you with your firearms.
00:58:42.320 --> 00:58:46.079
He voted against concealed carry in the state legislature.
00:58:46.239 --> 00:58:49.840
Um he supports raising age to buy certain guns.
00:58:50.159 --> 00:59:00.320
He's gonna weapons of making air quotes with my fingers on the table, and believe me, um that's the tip of the iceberg.
00:59:00.719 --> 00:59:20.239
Like this guy will do so much damage, and if we let someone like that into the United States from a state like Texas, then we're in big trouble because you'll have six years to build and to consolidate power and allies, and it's really a dangerous thing.
00:59:20.480 --> 00:59:42.159
So that's why again, like we said at the top, man, we gotta vote because all these wins that I just talked about, and there's a lot more, they get undone if if these crazy lunatic leftists, like I can't believe we're we're saying in the same sentence, Democrats Socialists of America, um, we're in big trouble.
00:59:42.480 --> 00:59:43.039
Absolutely.
00:59:43.199 --> 00:59:47.599
And you know, it's funny that you bring up, I don't know what Bible he's reading, because I actually found out what Bible he was reading.
00:59:47.679 --> 00:59:53.519
Uh I found out after seeing a video from his reverend, so-called I'm doing air coats for reverend now.
00:59:53.760 --> 01:00:00.719
Um after seeing that, uh, apparently their their version of the Bible uh takes out all of the masculine nouns for God.
01:00:00.800 --> 01:00:02.079
There's no father or son.
01:00:02.239 --> 01:00:07.280
Uh, and they also took out what they said was all of the problematic language in scripture got taken out.
01:00:07.440 --> 01:00:12.320
That didn't clarify what it is, uh, but uh anything they deemed problematic.
01:00:12.480 --> 01:00:18.000
So I imagine that James Alarico took out the shall not be infringed part when he rewrote the Constitution as well.
01:00:18.079 --> 01:00:22.800
I would assume he he used that authority, uh, which we see in in all the stuff that he's worked on.
01:00:23.039 --> 01:00:25.840
And again, for you guys, I guess that meant that it was easy.
01:00:25.920 --> 01:00:30.480
Uh in a lot of races, you'll see two moderates, you know, a leftist moderate, a right-wing moderate.
01:00:30.559 --> 01:00:32.800
And so then you end up kind of like, well, is there that big a difference?
01:00:32.880 --> 01:00:34.639
There's still a difference, but it's not nearly as big.
01:00:34.880 --> 01:00:44.480
But when you look at Paxton and Taller Rico, Taller Rico, I've said this, is one of the most progressive candidates in the country, especially when you look at federal races.
01:00:44.639 --> 01:00:47.039
And Paxton is one of the more conservative.
01:00:47.280 --> 01:00:49.760
And so this is a stark contrast.
01:00:49.840 --> 01:00:53.440
And and especially when you look at the Second Amendment, it becomes totally clear.
01:00:53.519 --> 01:00:57.599
Um, and I did not even realize how much work he had done alongside you guys.
01:00:57.920 --> 01:01:02.480
Yeah, Paxton is the the most pro-Second Amendment attorney general in the country.
01:01:02.719 --> 01:01:03.440
Full stop.
01:01:03.760 --> 01:01:12.400
The guy is, I mean, I'd be over a hundred lawsuits, not just on guns, but on many issues protecting the rights of Texans, the rights of Americans.
01:01:12.639 --> 01:01:20.800
And you know, if Calarico is willing to read and modify the Bible, well, he's gonna do the same thing with the Constitution.
01:01:20.960 --> 01:01:28.719
And I'm sure he would love to read out the Second Amendment and get rid of it and and you know, turn this country into something that it's not.
01:01:28.800 --> 01:01:33.199
And if that happens, you know, it's really hard to claw back those losses.
01:01:33.360 --> 01:01:36.719
So let's you know, this is a firewall year right now.
01:01:36.880 --> 01:01:48.239
Um if it's a bad year for Republicans up and down the ballot, and that's why it's more important than ever that um you know the voters get out, bring your friends, drag everyone you know, get to the polls, and let's get this done.
01:01:48.480 --> 01:01:48.639
Right.
01:01:48.719 --> 01:01:55.760
And that's why I've been saying, and and I know that the campaigns at least recently have always used polling data as a reason to get out or not get out, right?
01:01:55.840 --> 01:02:01.760
James Talarico will say, Hey, if you're a Republican, I mean I'm at 51% of the polls, there's no real point in you even coming out, so just stay home.
01:02:01.840 --> 01:02:03.119
And Republicans will buy into it.
01:02:03.199 --> 01:02:05.519
And I told them, no, no, no, if that's even true, right?
01:02:05.599 --> 01:02:15.119
Let's assume that the polling data is exactly accurate, that is all the more reason to go vote because letting James Talarico take this win is the worst thing we can do for our state and for our country.
01:02:15.280 --> 01:02:17.760
Um, and so I mean it's absolutely essential that we're out there.
01:02:17.840 --> 01:02:29.760
Now, speaking of being out there and the work that's going on, I also, while I love Ken Paxton, I don't want to let it kind of fall by the wayside that a lot of those actions were taking place alongside GOA, that you guys were out there in the trenches in the midst of it.
01:02:29.840 --> 01:02:39.280
Uh, I mean, even just here in Texas, you tracked like 200 firearm-related bills, you helped advance so much legislation, you've worked to stop the gun control proposals, but that's been going on all over the country.
01:02:39.440 --> 01:02:44.320
And so I just want to give you a second to say, like, hey, this is work that you guys are doing everywhere.
01:02:44.480 --> 01:02:54.400
Um, and while we love Ken Paxton and absolutely need good attorney generals and good senators to make this work happen, we also need organizations like GOA on the front lines fighting that fight.
01:02:54.800 --> 01:02:55.280
Absolutely.
01:02:55.360 --> 01:03:07.840
And and you know, I'm very proud to work for an organization that that has three uh nationwide injunctions against gun control, in addition to we have in Virginia where I live, where you used you visited and used to live.
01:03:08.000 --> 01:03:11.920
Um it's well, you don't want what's happening in Virginia to happen here, let me tell you.
01:03:12.159 --> 01:03:16.320
We've won some uh injunctions there against the so-called assault weapons ban.
01:03:16.559 --> 01:03:20.159
Uh but I'm really, really proud of the work that we've done in this state.
01:03:20.320 --> 01:03:28.320
Um, we were the tip of the spear on passing constitutional carrying to protect the rights of people to carry guns for self-defense.
01:03:28.559 --> 01:03:44.320
Um now that movement has gone to 29 states, and we're working on get let's get the rest of them either through legislation or the courts, because state announced certain um important landmark supreme court decisions.
01:03:44.559 --> 01:03:46.880
State can't strip you of your rights either.
01:03:46.960 --> 01:03:53.280
And there are a lot of states out there um that don't allow their citizens to carry um as freely as as they ought.
01:03:53.519 --> 01:03:54.960
And so we want to take them on.
01:03:55.119 --> 01:04:06.719
We want you know, if you go from Texas to Wyoming, you shouldn't have to guess if you're carrying legally or not, because your right to self-defense doesn't end on the state at the state line.
01:04:06.880 --> 01:04:18.079
And so we want constitutional carry to be nationwide with reciprocity, just like you can drive your car anywhere in the country, or if you're married in one place, you're married in the whole country.
01:04:18.400 --> 01:04:22.480
If you have a second amendment, you have it everywhere you go, and that's what we're fighting for.
01:04:22.559 --> 01:04:29.360
You know, a well-regulated militia being necessary for the security of a free state, it's important for the right of the people.
01:04:29.519 --> 01:04:33.119
That's all of us to keep them bear arms and not be infringed.
01:04:33.280 --> 01:04:34.000
That's what we do.
01:04:34.159 --> 01:04:35.119
It's very simple.
01:04:35.280 --> 01:04:36.800
Those are our marching orders.
01:04:37.039 --> 01:04:45.440
That's when we wake up every day to fight infringement at the federal level, at the state level, local level, and in the courts.
01:04:45.599 --> 01:05:05.679
And that's you know, if anyone's not a member of GOA, you know, I encourage you to get on gunowners.org and just sign up for a free email, see what we do, and really become a member because um a lot of times the injunctions that we get are the courts, we don't try to limit it to our members, but the courts limit it limit those to our members.
01:05:05.840 --> 01:05:13.840
And so for 35 bucks, you you become part of a protected class, uh, you know, until we can make these things win nationwide.
01:05:14.079 --> 01:05:18.159
So um Yeah, we we just appreciate all the support we have here in Texas.
01:05:18.239 --> 01:05:22.320
We're proud of the work we do, and we're super proud and grateful to all of our members.
01:05:22.400 --> 01:05:29.440
Uh you know, we have uh over two million members of supporters across the country, and a big chunk of them are right here in the Lone Star State.
01:05:29.760 --> 01:05:30.320
Absolutely.
01:05:30.480 --> 01:05:37.760
And by the way, that also it includes the influence you guys have, not only on the courts and in the legislature and on the government, but also in the culture.
01:05:37.840 --> 01:05:43.039
Uh, because of course the culture is where we get a lot of the voters from, where we have a lot of the change that'll come out of us from the people.
01:05:43.119 --> 01:05:46.159
If the people aren't gonna stand up for the right, the government's certainly not going to.
01:05:46.320 --> 01:05:48.000
And so being out in the culture is so important.
01:05:48.079 --> 01:05:55.280
And speaking of being out there, we're actually gonna get to see you uh and GOA out here here in Houston at Collectors Firearms this evening.
01:05:55.360 --> 01:05:56.480
I'm very excited for that, by the way.
01:05:56.559 --> 01:05:59.760
It'll be our second two a Tuesday happy hour.
01:06:00.079 --> 01:06:02.000
However, that means free drinks, free food.
01:06:02.239 --> 01:06:03.679
We'll have a live broadcast.
01:06:03.760 --> 01:06:05.440
That'll be going on from four to seven p.m.
01:06:05.519 --> 01:06:08.800
And John, we're very much looking forward to seeing you guys over at GOA there at our event.
01:06:09.679 --> 01:06:11.039
I'm looking forward to being there as well.
01:06:11.119 --> 01:06:34.159
And like you pointing out, you know, we gotta win these culture wars, and your range of self-defense is very much good people, righteous people, because it doesn't work otherwise.
01:06:34.239 --> 01:06:44.079
And when you get leftists that want to just clean the power to rule other people and to take away their liberties, that's not what this country is all about.
01:06:44.239 --> 01:06:45.119
We gotta stop that.
01:06:45.360 --> 01:06:45.840
Absolutely.
01:06:45.920 --> 01:06:52.960
And we just gotta do it by working together, working with people like Ken Paxton, working with Gun Owners of America, becoming a member of Gun Owners of America, and doing events like what we're doing tonight.
01:06:53.039 --> 01:06:54.079
We're very excited for that.
01:06:54.239 --> 01:06:57.440
John, thanks so much for coming on for our two-a-Tuesday segment.
01:06:57.599 --> 01:07:00.719
We appreciate you giving us your time for the work that you do with GOA.
01:07:01.039 --> 01:07:02.400
We're very excited to see you later.
01:07:03.039 --> 01:07:03.280
Thanks.
01:07:03.440 --> 01:07:04.880
I look forward to seeing you this afternoon.
01:07:05.119 --> 01:07:05.519
Absolutely.
01:07:05.679 --> 01:07:17.840
Now, with that being said, when we get back from the break, by the way, we're gonna jump over and uh we're gonna uh the the comptroller here in the state of Texas, that's Don Huffines, uh, who is launching a whistleblower portal for reports of fraud and tax evasion.
01:07:18.000 --> 01:07:21.760
That guy has been on a run and on a roll for the past week or so.

If you want to text in, the number is 713-779-5978.

01:11:21.520 --> 01:11:26.479
Call in with your questions or range reports, and let's tackle everything Second Amendment.
01:11:26.560 --> 01:11:30.479
Here on Houston's Leader for Gun Owners, Patriot Talk 920.
01:11:56.880 --> 01:12:00.479
So, first of all, uh that was a great, a great segment.
01:12:00.640 --> 01:12:02.960
We loved having John Valecco on from GOA.
01:12:03.119 --> 01:12:08.399
A phenomenal conversation, by the way, and a reminder of the race between Ken Dice and James Alarico.
01:12:08.720 --> 01:12:19.119
Also a reminder, we are in early voting, which means if you're not one of those and again, I say the way I say it makes it sound like I'm racist against, you know, people that vote on election day.
01:12:19.199 --> 01:12:20.960
I'm not not hateful of you guys.
01:12:21.119 --> 01:12:26.319
I just see I'm grouping you guys, like you're a different, you're a different category of human being.
01:12:26.479 --> 01:12:34.159
Uh regardless, if you're not a person that likes to vote on election day, if you don't really have a preference, you can vote today.
01:12:34.399 --> 01:12:36.000
You can go vote tomorrow.
01:12:36.159 --> 01:12:37.920
You can vote Thursday or Friday.
01:12:38.079 --> 01:12:42.880
You have an opportunity to vote, and it's you have about a week and a half to do it, and then that's it, right?
01:12:42.960 --> 01:12:45.760
That's that's all you got until election day.
01:12:45.840 --> 01:12:51.520
And in if you are not a person that prefers actively to vote on election day, I don't recommend saving it.
01:12:51.680 --> 01:12:53.680
The lines are longer, it's busier.
01:12:54.159 --> 01:12:57.680
Historically, if there's going to be some sort of issue, it'll be there on election day.
01:12:57.760 --> 01:13:02.560
There shouldn't be issues, but you know, historically, we look at the evidence, we've said there has there have been.
01:13:02.720 --> 01:13:05.920
And so I always recommend the earlier you can go, the better.
01:13:06.079 --> 01:13:08.319
You never know what's gonna happen tomorrow, right?
01:13:08.560 --> 01:13:14.479
You know, those who say let's count our money and go up into the whatever tomorrow and you don't know what tomorrow holds, you don't know what tomorrow holds.
01:13:14.640 --> 01:13:17.039
And so you're better off if you're able to do it today.
01:13:17.119 --> 01:13:18.239
The sooner you can go, the better.
01:13:18.399 --> 01:13:18.800
I get it.
01:13:18.880 --> 01:13:19.920
If you're really busy today, right?
01:13:20.079 --> 01:13:24.000
For example, I know all of you are busy from at least four to seven p.m.
01:13:24.800 --> 01:13:29.439
Because you'll be at collector's firearms for our free 2A Tuesday happy hour.
01:13:29.680 --> 01:13:33.520
So, you know, I know that you're busy then, uh, but uh, you could vote before that.
01:13:33.760 --> 01:13:34.319
Go vote.
01:13:34.399 --> 01:13:37.680
And then as a little treat after you vote, you know, take off work early.
01:13:37.920 --> 01:13:38.640
Okay, here's the plan.
01:13:38.720 --> 01:13:40.159
I'm giving you a plan for your day.
01:13:40.800 --> 01:13:43.520
I know you're look, it's October 20th.
01:13:43.760 --> 01:13:46.239
If you have PTO left, now's the time, okay?
01:13:46.399 --> 01:13:50.239
Taking half a day PTO ain't gonna kill you, ladies and gentlemen.
01:13:50.479 --> 01:13:52.399
Take a half-day PTO, okay.
01:13:52.479 --> 01:14:01.600
You're gonna you're gonna go and you're gonna go vote, and then you're gonna drive over to Collector's Firearms for our 2A Tuesday happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m.
01:14:01.840 --> 01:14:03.840
John Maleko, we just had on, he'll be there.
01:14:04.000 --> 01:14:06.319
Lee Gibson, the rest of GOA.
01:14:06.479 --> 01:14:13.840
We're gonna have the armed attorneys, we're gonna have Todd Starns, we're gonna have Michael Wilson.
01:14:13.920 --> 01:14:14.800
He's gonna be there.
01:14:14.960 --> 01:14:15.680
Can you believe it?
01:14:15.920 --> 01:14:17.680
Exciting, exciting guest there.
01:14:17.760 --> 01:14:19.199
Uh, we're gonna have the NRA bus.
01:14:19.520 --> 01:14:21.680
It's gonna be, I mean, just a phenomenal time.
01:14:21.840 --> 01:14:23.039
And you won't want to miss that.
01:14:23.119 --> 01:14:25.840
I'm I'm kidding around, but seriously, you should come out if you're able to make it.
01:14:25.920 --> 01:14:26.880
We'd love to have you.
01:14:26.960 --> 01:14:28.560
Uh it'll be it'll be a great opportunity.
01:14:28.720 --> 01:14:37.760
Four to six six, four to five will be our live broadcast, and then five to seven, everything from book signings to drinks and snacks and raffles.
01:14:37.840 --> 01:14:41.520
There's a Walther nine millimeter that's gonna go to some some lucky winner today.
01:14:41.600 --> 01:14:44.159
So, you know, the only way you win is if you show up.
01:14:44.319 --> 01:14:47.279
You know, if you don't win when you show up, it's like Pascal's wager.
01:14:47.520 --> 01:14:49.920
You may not win if you show up, but if you don't show up, you can't win.
01:14:50.000 --> 01:14:50.159
Right?
01:14:50.239 --> 01:14:50.960
That's kind of how it is.
01:14:51.039 --> 01:14:52.560
It's like asking a girl out for the first time.
01:14:52.640 --> 01:14:53.920
You know, that was the advice I got.
01:14:54.479 --> 01:14:58.720
And I think it's the advice every teenage boy gets, by the way, when he's like, I like this girl.
01:14:58.800 --> 01:15:00.159
He asks his dad about it.
01:15:00.319 --> 01:15:02.560
It's uh, well, let's do the logic here.
01:15:02.720 --> 01:15:04.239
It's like a logical syllogism.
01:15:04.399 --> 01:15:08.319
If you don't ask her out what happens, right, nothing.
01:15:08.479 --> 01:15:09.760
She doesn't go out with you.
01:15:09.920 --> 01:15:10.880
That's best case.
01:15:10.960 --> 01:15:17.359
If you don't ask her out, I mean, I guess now with you know rampant feminism, maybe she'll ask you out some weird, some weird stuff like that.
01:15:17.600 --> 01:15:19.279
You don't want a girl that asks you out, fellas.
01:15:19.439 --> 01:15:20.880
Let me that's that's my piece of advice.
01:15:21.039 --> 01:15:23.279
If the girl asks you out, you don't want it.
01:15:23.359 --> 01:15:24.000
No, I'm kidding.
01:15:24.079 --> 01:15:24.800
I'm kidding.
01:15:25.039 --> 01:15:28.560
Regardless, if you don't ask her out, nothing happens.
01:15:29.119 --> 01:15:32.960
If you do ask her out, the worst case scenario is the answer is no.
01:15:33.119 --> 01:15:34.079
She rejects you.
01:15:34.239 --> 01:15:38.560
And then you're in the same boat you were in before, which was the best case scenario.
01:15:39.119 --> 01:15:39.359
Right?
01:15:39.439 --> 01:15:42.159
Even if it's 80%, the other way it's a hundred percent no.
01:15:42.319 --> 01:15:43.600
This way it's eighty percent no.
01:15:43.760 --> 01:15:47.439
You just, I mean, uh an unbelievable amount of increased your chances.
01:15:47.680 --> 01:15:50.880
So, same with winning a Wall 39mm, the odds aren't in your favor, right?
01:15:50.960 --> 01:15:57.359
In the sense that, you know, we're gonna have if you say have a hundred people there, you know, and you get a rap thing, you had a what, one percent chance of winning.
01:15:57.600 --> 01:15:58.319
I know, I know.
01:15:58.479 --> 01:16:02.880
For the actual, for the actual statisticians in here, I understand how it works, I'm aware.
01:16:03.039 --> 01:16:06.000
Uh, but you know, your chances aren't super high.
01:16:06.560 --> 01:16:09.439
But that's like so much higher than zero, right?
01:16:09.600 --> 01:16:10.800
Zero is much lower.
01:16:10.960 --> 01:16:12.800
So if you don't show up, you can't win.
01:16:13.279 --> 01:16:14.399
So we'd love to have you there.
01:16:14.479 --> 01:16:15.359
Uh 4 to 7 p.m.
01:16:15.520 --> 01:16:16.880
at collector's firearms today.
01:16:17.199 --> 01:16:17.840
Love to see you there.
01:16:18.159 --> 01:16:19.039
Now let's get into this.
01:16:19.199 --> 01:16:30.239
Controller Don Huffeins has launched a whistleblower portal for Texans to report suspected fraud, corruption, tax evasion, waste, and abuse involving Texas state tax dollars.
01:16:30.399 --> 01:16:37.199
According to the controller's office, the portal sends reports securely and directly to investigators in its law enforcement operations division.
01:16:37.840 --> 01:16:44.640
Users can provide detailed information, upload supporting documentation, and choose, if they will, to remain anonymous.
01:16:44.880 --> 01:16:56.079
The agency said reports can concern government officials accused of misusing taxpayer money, businesses and nonprofits suspected of violating state tax law, and individuals who evade taxes.
01:16:57.119 --> 01:17:01.279
And so he said in announcing the portal, tax and see things we cannot.
01:17:01.439 --> 01:17:06.479
If you witness or suspect fraud, tax evasion, waste, or abuse, report it.
01:17:06.640 --> 01:17:10.079
The initiative is intended to help investigators identify wrongdoing and recover public money.
01:17:10.159 --> 01:17:15.920
He said fraudsters, tax cheats, and anyone misusing taxpayer money should take notice.
01:17:16.159 --> 01:17:23.279
We will aggressively pursue anyone who defrauds the state of Texas, and now every Texan can help us find them.
01:17:23.680 --> 01:17:33.600
The controller's office described its law enforcement operations division, known as LEO, as a statewide police organization commissioned under authority, granted by the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure and Tax Code.
01:17:33.680 --> 01:17:39.600
The agency said the division was reorganized when Huff Lines took office on August 1st, saying, hey, this is actually an important part of what we do.
01:17:39.680 --> 01:17:40.640
We have to go after these people.
01:17:40.720 --> 01:17:43.039
We can't just have the law, we have to enforce it.
01:17:43.279 --> 01:17:52.000
And so now they pursue suspected tax crimes, including sales tax collected but not remitted to the state, as well as offenses involving motor fuel, tobacco, motor vehicle taxes, so on and so forth.
01:17:52.239 --> 01:17:58.079
The division also investigates allegations involving the misuse of taxpayer money, perjury on government forms, and tampering with government records.
01:17:58.479 --> 01:18:02.720
It works can include money laundering and organized crime cases, if that's warranted and connected, right?
01:18:02.880 --> 01:18:05.600
It has a wide range of operational abilities.
01:18:05.760 --> 01:18:11.920
And so they partner with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and seek to recover money taken through unlawful activity.
01:18:12.239 --> 01:18:15.279
And so again, the whistleblower portal is on the controller's website.
01:18:15.359 --> 01:18:17.279
So you can find that on Google, you can just Google it and you can find it.
01:18:17.359 --> 01:18:18.319
It's up there now.
01:18:18.399 --> 01:18:22.000
Um and if you know somebody uh who's doing that, report them.
01:18:22.159 --> 01:18:22.319
Right.
01:18:22.560 --> 01:18:27.520
If you know somebody who's misusing taxpayer dollars and violating state law, please report them.
01:18:27.680 --> 01:18:28.960
That's how we can start to fix these problems.
01:18:29.039 --> 01:18:34.800
If you know any Somalians, right, not to be racist, but if you know any Somalians, uh report them automatically.
01:18:35.439 --> 01:18:46.960
I also want to highlight something that I think is really important here that I love about this because we've had, and this is unfortunate, but you know that we've had issues where the main enforcement mechanism is reporting.
01:18:47.359 --> 01:18:49.359
And that has never worked, by the way.
01:18:49.520 --> 01:18:50.720
That's never worked.
01:18:51.039 --> 01:19:00.079
Because when a person has to report in order for the crime to be found out, if that's a requirement to seek out crimes and seek out criminals, there's a problem, right?
01:19:00.239 --> 01:19:03.920
You have your own authority, statewide authority to pursue criminal charges.
01:19:04.079 --> 01:19:05.680
You don't need the reporting.
01:19:06.319 --> 01:19:23.359
But what I like about and what I want to differentiate here just for a second is that there is a vast cavernous difference between reporting being the main useful mechanism, being essentially the entirety of the enforced mechanism, and between it being a useful tool that operates as well.
01:19:23.600 --> 01:19:24.560
Those are two different things.
01:19:24.720 --> 01:19:26.079
And I want to give you a clear example of this.
01:19:26.159 --> 01:19:30.560
We actually talked about it yesterday, but I just want to bring it back up because it's a very clear example that I like using.
01:19:30.800 --> 01:19:45.920
Um, both abortion and a lot of the explicit school books, uh that that's changed a little, but you know, the original version of it, the main reporting mechanism is hey, you people, and abortion really is the the clearest one, can report if this is happening.
01:19:46.479 --> 01:19:48.159
Um, but that's not gonna be criminal.
01:19:48.239 --> 01:19:57.520
We're not going after the people who pursue abortions, we're not going after those who take abortion pills, there's no criminal charges, and at the end of the day, if you don't report it, nothing happens, nothing changes, nothing gets done.
01:19:57.680 --> 01:19:58.399
That's not good.
01:19:58.560 --> 01:20:00.319
And it's been wildly unsuccessful.
01:20:00.399 --> 01:20:03.520
We still have tens of thousands of abortions in Texas every single year.
01:20:03.680 --> 01:20:08.800
If anyone is telling you that Texas is a pro-life state, um, they're kind of mincing words a little.
01:20:08.960 --> 01:20:10.800
They're they're kind of being a little bit deceitful.
01:20:11.279 --> 01:20:18.960
You know, we have elected politicians who generally do good things, but that will use that terminology and say, hey, we're the pro-life state, nobody dies here.
01:20:19.119 --> 01:20:20.239
It's not true, right?
01:20:20.319 --> 01:20:29.840
It's not even just that there's some that are getting around it, but the way we have the law set up is unsuccessful because it's not criminal procedures, it's not being done by the state, it's being done by anonymous reportees.
01:20:30.079 --> 01:20:37.520
And so the difference primarily is that the office of the comptroller is going after these folks anyway.
01:20:37.920 --> 01:20:41.520
But if you report, they have a wider range of folks to go after.
01:20:41.760 --> 01:20:49.359
They're still going to go after everyone that they can find, but sometimes you see things, you're aware of things that maybe they did such a good job on evasion that they never get caught.
01:20:49.680 --> 01:20:51.520
And if you didn't report them, they wouldn't get caught.
01:20:51.760 --> 01:20:53.840
But they're still going after everybody else they can find.
01:20:54.079 --> 01:20:56.159
And so that's that's a win-win scenario.
01:20:56.319 --> 01:20:57.359
That's the best way it can work.
01:20:57.439 --> 01:21:03.359
It's both and it's it's using both methodologies, which again in tandem works wildly better.
01:21:03.439 --> 01:21:13.600
And we'll see that, I think, applied, uh, especially if if Don Huff Fines wins his election, which I think I don't want to say it's sure, but again, I think that's a that's an easy win for us if we show up and vote all the way up and down the ballot.
01:21:13.760 --> 01:21:16.800
And by the way, speaking of early voting is in effect.
01:21:16.960 --> 01:21:24.880
That means you can vote Senate, making sure you're voting for people like Paxton, voting for Don Huffines, voting for Greg Abbott, voting for Bo French.
01:21:24.960 --> 01:21:26.960
Uh, and then as you get into local races and it'll change.
01:21:27.039 --> 01:21:34.960
We have listeners in Gowson County, Harris County, uh, we have listeners in Montgomery County, we have some in Fort Bend County, we have some in Brisoria County, wherever you're at, right?
01:21:35.039 --> 01:21:39.520
We I actually know we have we have some listeners who I know tune in from other states.
01:21:39.760 --> 01:21:49.119
Wherever you are, you make sure that in your elections you're voting all the way down the ballot in your respective election, whatever is on your ballot, that you're voting for Republican.
01:21:49.199 --> 01:21:50.560
And sometimes that means research, right?
01:21:50.640 --> 01:21:54.479
There are there's a handful of races I know that are nonpartisan.
01:21:54.720 --> 01:22:00.560
Uh that means looking up, researching, because even nonpartisan races, you know, are really partisan.
01:22:00.720 --> 01:22:07.520
It's impossible that they're not partisan at this point because there are such different policies uh regarding everything.
01:22:07.760 --> 01:22:16.399
And so looking at their history, seeing what they voted on before, what they've run in, who they're endorsed by, even in nonpartisan races, that requires a little extra research, but I promise you it's worth it.
01:22:16.560 --> 01:22:21.359
Vote up and down the ballot for the Republicans in this election and do it sooner rather than later.
01:22:21.520 --> 01:22:30.399
With that being said, when you get back from the break, Harris County has shattered early voting record on day one, with at least, well, you know what?
01:22:30.479 --> 01:22:31.359
I'll tease it.
01:22:31.520 --> 01:22:33.840
With uh with a with a bunch of ballots cast.
01:22:33.920 --> 01:22:38.399
We'll talk about how many were cast just on day one of early voting in Harris County.
01:22:38.479 --> 01:22:41.359

Saturday mornings at 6 on Patriot Talk 920.
01:27:14.399 --> 01:27:16.079
Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen.
01:27:16.159 --> 01:27:19.279
I'm your host, Michael Wilson, and you are listening to the Lone Star Conservative.
01:27:19.359 --> 01:27:26.960
We've got a text in on elections, by the way, so this works out, that asks, is the polling data showing Talarico ahead of Paxton accurate?
01:27:27.439 --> 01:27:29.359
And it's a very simple question, a very clear question.
01:27:29.520 --> 01:27:32.159
I'm glad you asked it because it's an important question as well.
01:27:32.479 --> 01:27:34.399
First, yes, the polling is real, right?
01:27:34.479 --> 01:27:40.479
This is not a single outlier poll uh that somebody found, decided to run with, that the Talerco campaign is highlighting, right?
01:27:40.560 --> 01:27:43.279
We're seeing a consistent pattern across multiple polling organizations.
01:27:43.359 --> 01:27:47.279
That includes, I mean, Fox News, UT, I mean so many others.
01:27:47.359 --> 01:27:56.479
Uh right now, as of October 20th, the bet the latest update we have in the polling has James Alarico ahead of Ken Paxton by a little over two percentage points.
01:27:56.640 --> 01:27:59.439
But here is what I wanna say before I talk about anything else.
01:28:00.159 --> 01:28:02.880
A poll is not an election result.
01:28:03.279 --> 01:28:04.399
Those are not the same thing.
01:28:04.800 --> 01:28:09.119
And when you're looking at a race this close, you have to remember that these surveys are just general estimates.
01:28:09.520 --> 01:28:10.640
They have margins of error.
01:28:10.800 --> 01:28:13.119
They depend on assumptions about who's actually going to show up.
01:28:13.279 --> 01:28:18.319
They take an average and they say, okay, here if we extrapolate that data, here's the likely outcome.
01:28:18.479 --> 01:28:20.960
But it's just at best an educated guess.
01:28:21.439 --> 01:28:23.279
And just look at the in uh individual polls.
01:28:23.359 --> 01:28:26.159
Uh Insider Advantage recently had Paxton ahead by one point.
01:28:26.239 --> 01:28:28.880
Others have Talerico ahead by two, three, or four points.
01:28:29.119 --> 01:28:30.960
So the takeaway is that this race is not over.
01:28:31.279 --> 01:28:35.119
The takeaway is that this is a genuinely competitive election.
01:28:35.279 --> 01:28:38.319
It is not a single, easy Talarico's got it.
01:28:38.399 --> 01:28:38.560
Right.
01:28:38.640 --> 01:28:43.439
And I think that's something that every Texan, regardless of your political affiliation, by the way, ought to take very seriously.
01:28:43.520 --> 01:28:48.319
Uh for conservatives especially, there are very significant policy differences at stake in this election.
01:28:48.399 --> 01:28:49.680
We talked about that with John Vilecco.
01:28:49.840 --> 01:28:58.800
We're talking about the Second Amendment, immigration enforcement, the judiciary, federal spending, the direction of the United States Senate, uh, who works together.
01:28:58.960 --> 01:29:01.119
These are not abstract policy disagreements.
01:29:01.199 --> 01:29:08.720
They're questions about what legislation gets passed, what gets blocked, what happens in Washington that affects every Texan over the next several years.
01:29:08.880 --> 01:29:14.960
And here's the thing I want everyone to understand pulsars measure what people say they're going to do, and elections measure what people actually do.
01:29:15.039 --> 01:29:16.960
And they measure what everyone actually does.
01:29:17.119 --> 01:29:18.239
Those are two very different things.
01:29:18.319 --> 01:29:28.880
You can have thousands of people who feel passionately about a candidate or an issue, but that passion does not count as a vote unless that person actively casts a ballot and someone else doesn't.
01:29:29.119 --> 01:29:32.159
Which is why your civic participation is so incredibly important.
01:29:32.479 --> 01:29:34.640
It's why understanding that their records is so important.
01:29:34.880 --> 01:29:37.920
It's why staying informed all the way through election day is important.
01:29:38.239 --> 01:29:44.960
Do not allow a favorable poll for someone like Tallerico to convince you that an election is already decided.
01:29:45.119 --> 01:29:48.319
And don't let an unfavorable poll convince you that your participation is meaningless, right?
01:29:48.399 --> 01:29:50.079
Don't let it convince you, oh, Paxton's ahead.
01:29:50.159 --> 01:29:50.880
I guess I don't need to show up.
01:29:50.960 --> 01:29:51.680
Talerico's ahead.
01:29:51.760 --> 01:29:52.800
I guess there's no point in showing up.
01:29:52.960 --> 01:29:53.920
Neither of those is good.
01:29:54.079 --> 01:29:55.760
We're still two weeks out from election day.
01:29:55.840 --> 01:29:57.279
There's still an election to conduct.
01:29:57.520 --> 01:29:59.119
Voters still have decisions to make.
01:29:59.199 --> 01:30:03.600
And the only result that ultimately counts is the one determined by your votes, by the ballots.
01:30:03.840 --> 01:30:06.880
And until those votes are counted, we have not finished the story yet.
01:30:06.960 --> 01:30:09.359
There, there is no known answer yet.
01:30:09.520 --> 01:30:12.159
And so it is incredibly important that you're showing up.
01:30:12.319 --> 01:30:14.159
It is incredibly important that you understand.
01:30:14.319 --> 01:30:19.359
And I'm not saying it's bad to look at the polling data or to form general opinions about the direction of the election.
01:30:19.600 --> 01:30:31.600
What I am saying is that you allow that poll to help make your decision as to what exactly is going to happen and how you choose to vote or whether you choose to vote is the worst way to use polling data.
01:30:31.760 --> 01:30:33.039
It's good as a general idea.
01:30:33.119 --> 01:30:41.279
It's good maybe even as an incentive to go out and convince your neighbors and your friends and your family to go with the polls with you, to take your friends, say, hey, you need a ride, I'm gonna go vote.
01:30:41.359 --> 01:30:42.479
You wanna come with me?
01:30:42.720 --> 01:30:43.680
Those sorts of things.
01:30:43.840 --> 01:30:48.399
You can be incentivized to do that, but it should just encourage you all the more to make sure we get the win.
01:30:48.560 --> 01:30:50.960
To make sure, and by the way, that's not just the Paxton Tallar Rico race.
01:30:51.039 --> 01:30:54.159
I know that's what you texted in asking about, but it's all the other races too.
01:30:54.319 --> 01:31:06.640
It's Greg Abbott, it's Controller Huffeins, it's it's Bo French for Railroad Commissioner, it's voting in in your local races for the judiciary, voting in local races for the county positions like judge and clerk and attorney, right?
01:31:06.720 --> 01:31:11.760
It's voting in every election you can vote in all the way up and down the ballot for Republican leadership.
01:31:11.920 --> 01:31:13.119
It is incredibly important.
01:31:13.359 --> 01:31:26.560
And so, yes, I think the polling data is relatively accurate in the sense that it's accurate polling, as best they can do, but it's an educated guess and one that is is I don't want to say irrelevant, but is not the answer to the election.
01:31:27.039 --> 01:31:32.000
And that will not come out until the votes are counted, and the votes will be counted based on who chose to show up.
01:31:32.079 --> 01:31:34.079
And if all of us show up, we can still win this.
01:31:34.159 --> 01:31:35.359
It is certainly on the table.
01:31:35.600 --> 01:31:36.960
Do not think that we've lost.
01:31:37.039 --> 01:31:38.239
It's certainly not true.
01:31:38.640 --> 01:31:40.720
Now, I want to get into this because it's pretty exciting.
01:31:40.800 --> 01:31:45.600
Uh Harris County has shattered our early voting record on day one.
01:31:45.760 --> 01:31:50.319
Um apparently, you know, lines searched out at the door of polling sites across the county.
01:31:50.399 --> 01:31:56.079
Um, the Richard and Meg Weekly Community Center led all 75 locations with 3,153 votes cast.
01:31:56.239 --> 01:32:00.720
Uh, and there were a bunch of busy, busy polling locations.
01:32:00.960 --> 01:32:11.680
But the past record was that in the 2018 midterm elections, I didn't realize this, uh, for the first day of early voting, cast by 6 p.m., the previous record was 63,000 votes.
01:32:12.079 --> 01:32:15.840
So when I say we blew past the record, we didn't get, you know, 73,000 votes.
01:32:15.920 --> 01:32:18.399
We didn't get 83,000 votes, we didn't get 93,000 votes.
01:32:18.479 --> 01:32:23.520
We got 104,201 ballots cast by 6 p.m.
01:32:23.920 --> 01:32:27.840
So we blew past the early voting day one record.
01:32:27.920 --> 01:32:34.720
Um, they decided a range of issues guiding them to the polls like the cost of living, overseas conflicts, concerns about long-standing political leadership.
01:32:34.800 --> 01:32:39.840
Uh, one guy said the copy that I bought two years ago was$12 for a big can, and now it's$25 for the same thing.
01:32:39.920 --> 01:32:40.640
It's ridiculous.
01:32:40.800 --> 01:32:42.640
Cost of living is way too high.
01:32:43.039 --> 01:32:47.119
You know, 30 years of of this party or that party, right?
01:32:47.279 --> 01:32:55.279
Immigration was also mentioned, uh, global conflict, you know, there's lots going on that are driving people to the polls here in the midterms.
01:32:55.439 --> 01:32:57.760
And so again, don't let that dissuade you, right?
01:32:57.840 --> 01:32:58.720
It should be an encouragement.
01:32:58.880 --> 01:33:04.399
You also can help make history make these records be important for Republicans by showing up and by voting.
01:33:04.560 --> 01:33:07.119
We also had a couple people come to Texas for campaign stops.
01:33:07.199 --> 01:33:09.279
I say come to Texas, come to Houston.
01:33:09.680 --> 01:33:11.199
Um yesterday.
01:33:11.760 --> 01:33:15.920
Uh US Representative Jasmine Crockett, who, again, everybody I mean loves Jasmine Crockett.
01:33:16.000 --> 01:33:17.439
I don't know anybody that doesn't like her.
01:33:17.680 --> 01:33:19.920
And by that I mean everybody I know doesn't like her.
01:33:20.079 --> 01:33:27.920
She embarked in a whirlwind tour of Houston, polling places yesterday morning alongside Letitia Plummer, the Democratic candidate for Harris County judge, and other local Democrats.
01:33:28.000 --> 01:33:36.000
And yesterday afternoon, Governor Greg Abbott helped held a get out the vote rally in West Houston, where he urged hundreds of Republicans in attendance to hit the polls.
01:33:36.159 --> 01:33:43.520
The aggressive approach from some of Texas's most recognizable figures in both parties, again, underscores the importance of Harris County and the surrounding areas.
01:33:43.680 --> 01:33:46.560
The Greater Houston area is a bedrock.
01:33:46.880 --> 01:33:52.960
I mean, it really is foundational to our success in winning these elections, not just the local elections, but the state elections as well.
01:33:53.119 --> 01:33:56.720
We have a massive voting block here in the greater Houston area.
01:33:56.880 --> 01:33:59.439
And uh, you know, our importance cannot be understated.
01:33:59.600 --> 01:34:03.520
It is incredibly important, which is why they're out here the day that early voting started.
01:34:03.680 --> 01:34:08.880
Democrats are hoping that massive turnout in Harris County can carry candidates like James Tallerico, right?
01:34:09.199 --> 01:34:14.640
Um, you have Brandon Roddinghouse who's who said that, and he's a political scientist, by the way, at U of H.
01:34:14.800 --> 01:34:22.720
He said that Democrats are hoping that this massive turnout just in Harris County alone can help carry the candidates like James Talerico to their first statewide victory in more than three decades.
01:34:22.880 --> 01:34:28.239
Meanwhile, that Republicans are, of course, attempting to demonstrate staying power in some of the state's fast growing urban areas.
01:34:28.479 --> 01:34:31.680
Running House said, Houston is becoming the central battleground of Texas politics.
01:34:31.760 --> 01:34:36.239
It's both big and politically diverse, making it the big brass ring for either party.
01:34:36.399 --> 01:34:44.800
Both parties have a lot of stake in Houston, and the attention from both politicians illustrates how important Harris County is to statewide calculations.
01:34:44.960 --> 01:34:50.159
And so again, it's not just uh that Hexton was out here two weeks ago.
01:34:50.399 --> 01:34:52.800
They they understand Houston is a big part of this.
01:34:52.960 --> 01:34:56.720
And of course, that means we still need to cement all of our rural areas where we get a lot of our voters from.
01:34:56.800 --> 01:35:05.279
But Harris County, I know that recently it's appeared rather blue, but there's a reason that political scientists would still say that Harris County is light blue.
01:35:05.600 --> 01:35:07.600
And if you get the surrounding areas, it's not even that.
01:35:07.760 --> 01:35:13.760
I mean, the comparison shows that we are, at best, we're a purple area on the geographical region map.
01:35:14.079 --> 01:35:14.960
There's a reason for that.
01:35:15.039 --> 01:35:20.880
It's because we still have a lot of influence here in the greater Houston area, but that only works.
01:35:21.039 --> 01:35:24.960
I want to highlight this as much as I can during only early voting.
01:35:25.199 --> 01:35:29.840
That only works if every single person shows up.
01:35:30.239 --> 01:35:44.800
That that that purple only exists if the Republicans are willing to combat the Democrats and show up in similar numbers, not letting them take the win, not letting them show up and take away the votes, not letting them show up and outdo us.
01:35:44.960 --> 01:35:47.359
We only win if we actually participate.
01:35:47.520 --> 01:35:51.279
We can't just talk on a show and say, yeah, we got this in the bag, guys.
01:35:51.439 --> 01:35:56.960
No, it means that you, the listeners, the average everyday Americans, all of you, have to show up.
01:35:57.119 --> 01:35:58.079
You have to vote.
01:35:58.399 --> 01:35:59.920
And whenever you can do that, do it.
01:36:00.079 --> 01:36:01.760
If you can do it today, get out there and vote.
01:36:01.840 --> 01:36:06.800
If you can't do it today, but you have some free time tomorrow or on Thursday or on Friday or next Monday, get out and vote.
01:36:06.960 --> 01:36:10.159
If you're not free or you want to wait for election day, so be it.
01:36:10.399 --> 01:36:11.760
Get out there and vote on election day.
01:36:11.840 --> 01:36:13.439
Make sure you have a plan to do that.
01:36:13.600 --> 01:36:22.960
Make sure, if possible, you're convincing others to do that, that you're taking people with you in uh even you can carpool, take people with you so that we can win these elections.
01:36:23.119 --> 01:36:24.079
Up and down the ballot.
01:36:24.159 --> 01:36:25.680
I again I want to highlight that.
01:36:25.840 --> 01:36:29.520
It's not one race, it's not two races, it's not Abbott and Capaxon on the ballot.
01:36:29.600 --> 01:36:52.880
It is, it is dozens of these races that are all crucially important to your day-to-day life and to the future of Harris County, the future of Brisoria County, the future of Galveston County and Fort Penn County, and Montgomery County, the future of the state of Texas, and the future really of our federal politics as well, the future of the country is all determined right here, and you can make an impact by choosing to show up and show out.
01:36:53.279 --> 01:36:57.760
Now, with that being said, when we get back from the break, I just I want to wrap it up with this.
01:36:58.000 --> 01:37:08.880
Witnesses are saying that a racial slur sparked a softball game shooting in Umble that left a father of three dead and his wife and the mother of those three injured.
01:37:09.039 --> 01:37:10.479
Uh, it was pronounced dead at the scene.
01:37:10.560 --> 01:37:16.079
We'll talk all about the details of that and how just bad our our politics has gotten, how bad our culture has gotten when we get back from the break.
01:37:16.239 --> 01:37:26.239
If you would like to text in, if you have any thoughts, questions, concerns, or you have, you know, something that you you want me to talk about that I haven't gotten into, now is your last chance during today's show to do that.
01:37:26.399 --> 01:37:29.760
You can text in at 713-779-5978.

That's hc.edu.
01:39:00.560 --> 01:39:04.560
The Medicare Minute with Justin White is brought to you by Senior Health Services.
01:39:04.800 --> 01:39:15.680
If you are of Medicare age or getting close or you have a loved one that is, be careful with those unsolicited phone calls that I know you know about.
01:39:15.840 --> 01:39:17.920
We get told about them all the time.
01:39:18.159 --> 01:39:21.920
What you need to know is that many of those phone calls are not even legal.
01:39:22.000 --> 01:39:24.560
They're coming from offshore call centers.
01:39:24.720 --> 01:39:28.399
Sometimes they're calling regardless of whether you're on the do not call list.
01:39:28.479 --> 01:39:29.760
Isn't that nice of them, by the way?
01:39:29.840 --> 01:39:33.680
It's really sweet of them to just do that because they are thinking that they can't get caught.
01:39:33.920 --> 01:39:40.000
Bottom line is when you get on there and you talk to them, they're already kind of operating sidelong of what should be done.
01:39:40.079 --> 01:39:43.920
And sometimes people end up in plans that they did not intend to enroll in.
01:39:44.079 --> 01:39:45.279
And so what do you do?
01:39:45.439 --> 01:39:46.640
Call somebody local.
01:39:46.800 --> 01:39:50.399
If you got a local agent, my gosh, call them and get in front of them.
01:39:50.560 --> 01:39:59.520
And if you don't have a good agent, think of an organization like Senior Health Services where you can sit down, talk about what you're looking for, and get the help that you need.
01:39:59.680 --> 01:40:06.720
You don't need to be talking to phone operators in other countries that you don't know who they are, where they are, or what in the world they're doing.
01:40:06.960 --> 01:40:10.159
Medicare choices are easier with a professional in your corner.
01:40:10.319 --> 01:40:15.600
Senior Health Services is not associated with the government, so you know you can trust them.
01:40:15.760 --> 01:40:21.600

It's Eric Jurgson.
01:41:37.920 --> 01:41:43.359
Join me tonight at 9 on Patriot Talk 920 and online at Patriot Talk920.com.
01:41:55.279 --> 01:41:56.800
Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen.
01:41:56.880 --> 01:42:02.079
I'm your host, Michael Wilson, and you're listening to the Lone Star Conservative here on Patriot Talk 920.
01:42:02.159 --> 01:42:11.359
One man is dead, and three other people, including his wife and mother, were injured in a shooting after a disturbance involving two groups playing softball in northeast Harris County over the weekend.
01:42:11.600 --> 01:42:16.159
Witnesses are saying that a racial slur sparked the shooting, which happened around 9 p.m.
01:42:16.640 --> 01:42:19.359
When deputies got to the scene, they found four people had been shot in a parking lot.
01:42:19.439 --> 01:42:21.840
J Jarmin Maddox, who's 30, was pronounced dead at the scene.
01:42:21.920 --> 01:42:27.199
The victim's sister, Destiny Williams, said her brother was a CDL truck driver and father of three, who had recently been promoted at work.
01:42:27.279 --> 01:42:30.640
She said the gunman and another man were using racial slurs with her brother.
01:42:30.800 --> 01:42:34.079
Quote, my brother was targeted, and it's just a devastating situation that we're in right now.
01:42:34.239 --> 01:42:35.279
We were detained for hours.
01:42:35.439 --> 01:42:37.520
We don't know anything that was going on with our family members.
01:42:37.600 --> 01:42:39.039
They didn't even get my brothers any help.
01:42:39.199 --> 01:42:40.159
I checked my brother's pulse.
01:42:40.239 --> 01:42:40.640
It was low.
01:42:40.720 --> 01:42:41.279
They passed him up.
01:42:41.359 --> 01:42:43.359
My sister-in-law was on top of him trying to give him CPR.
01:42:43.439 --> 01:42:47.119
They took her, they grabbed her by her arm, and they were just dragging her on the ground.
01:42:47.199 --> 01:42:48.239
This has to stop.
01:42:48.479 --> 01:42:51.279
The three other victims were taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
01:42:51.439 --> 01:42:52.640
Their ages have not been released.
01:42:52.800 --> 01:42:57.039
Investigators said that two groups of people had been playing softball when a disturbance broke out and moved into the parking lot.
01:42:57.199 --> 01:43:01.439
Two suspected shooters have been identified and are being interviewed by investigators according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
01:43:01.520 --> 01:43:02.880
Weapons were also recovered at the scene.
01:43:03.039 --> 01:43:05.199
Quote, our condolences go out to this family.
01:43:05.279 --> 01:43:09.279
We know this is incredibly tragic, and we're pulling for the others to make a full recovery.
01:43:09.520 --> 01:43:18.000
Sheriff Gonzalez said yesterday that he did not get any information in preliminary briefings from his investigators about a racial slur, but that all those things will be factors that will be considered as they investigate.
01:43:29.680 --> 01:43:32.399
It's automatically going to be a racial problem.
01:43:32.560 --> 01:43:41.600
That that just because there was a racial slur used, or allegedly even, just because a racial slur was allegedly used, therefore this must have been a hate crime without any other details.
01:43:41.680 --> 01:43:42.800
We don't know what sparked the argument.
01:43:42.880 --> 01:43:44.159
We don't know what part somebody had to play.
01:43:44.319 --> 01:43:48.880
I'm not saying that it justified a shooting, whatsoever, by the way, but we have no idea.
01:43:49.039 --> 01:43:50.000
We have no clue.
01:43:50.159 --> 01:43:54.960
And our culture is so fast to jump to these sorts of narratives, right?
01:43:55.359 --> 01:44:02.880
It's so fast to go, well, supposedly, according to one person, there was a racial slur thrown around.
01:44:03.119 --> 01:44:06.560
Therefore, this guy was targeted for the color of his skin.
01:44:06.880 --> 01:44:11.520
And therefore there's a hate crime, and therefore there is systematic racism in our country that still exists.
01:44:11.840 --> 01:44:16.560
And it's so sad to see that narrative still being harped on because it's incredibly divisive.
01:44:16.640 --> 01:44:18.079
And in many cases, it's not true.
01:44:18.159 --> 01:44:19.920
I'm not saying that it wasn't true here, by the way.
01:44:20.079 --> 01:44:23.279
Notice, I'm not saying that because I don't have the facts.
01:44:23.439 --> 01:44:25.600
I'm not conducting the investigation.
01:44:25.760 --> 01:44:26.880
I was not there.
01:44:27.039 --> 01:44:28.720
And so I don't have the evidence to say that.
01:44:28.880 --> 01:44:32.960
What I can say is that there is a cultural epidemic that divides people.
01:44:33.119 --> 01:44:37.840
And that epidemic has reached these catastrophic levels where everything goes this route now.
01:44:38.000 --> 01:44:39.439
And you can't avoid it, right?
01:44:39.920 --> 01:44:52.800
Even in cases where you didn't do that, even in cases where that's obviously not the case, you can look at Daniel Penny, or you can look at the case of George Floyd and see this has nothing to do with race, it has nothing to do with ethnicity or the color of someone's skin, it has everything to do with crime, has everything to do with danger.
01:44:53.199 --> 01:44:59.520
And people that did what they were told to do, what they're called to do, are the ones facing trouble or the ones that are having to deal with this.
01:44:59.920 --> 01:45:02.720
And it's just incredibly sad to see the way our culture has gone about it.
01:45:02.800 --> 01:45:10.800
Um and we're again we're so quick to jump to narratives instead of waiting for the facts and saying, hey, let's pause for a minute and make our determinations when we know everything.
01:45:11.039 --> 01:45:11.840
That'd be over the show.
01:45:11.920 --> 01:45:12.800
Hope to see you guys at 4 p.m.
01:45:12.960 --> 01:45:16.399
at Collector's Firearms for our 2 8 Tuesday happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m.
01:45:16.479 --> 01:45:17.920
again at Collector's Firearms this evening.
01:45:18.000 --> 01:45:19.760
In the meantime, you've been listening to Lone Star Conservative.
01:45:19.840 --> 01:45:21.119
I'll be back tomorrow.
01:45:21.359 --> 01:45:22.800
Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday.
01:45:22.960 --> 01:45:25.279
Hope to see you there and Godspeed.
