ABOUT THIS EPISODE
The Tampa Bay Lightning remained unbeaten on home ice with a 4-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings, thanks to a fast start, a pair of goals from Brayden Point, and another clutch performance from Andrei Vasilevskiy. Tampa Bay dominated the opening period, overwhelmed Detroit with relentless puck possession, and built a lead that proved just enough despite a late Red Wings push.
On Last Call Presented by Jack Daniel's, Greg Linnelli, JP Peterson, Bobby "The Chief" Taylor, and Brian Engblom break down the Lightning's dominant first period, Point's offensive resurgence, and why Vasilevskiy was the difference-maker during a tense third period. The crew also discusses Tampa Bay's improving power play, strong puck-possession numbers, and the importance of banking points against division opponents in a loaded Atlantic Division.
Plus, hear postgame comments from Brayden Point and Jon Cooper as the Lightning continue their strong start at Benchmark International Arena and improve their standing in the Atlantic Division race.
