ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Today on the Daily Nugget, Mike explores Galatians 5:16–18, where Paul uses the power of contrast to reveal the true nature of the Christian life. The contrast is not simply between good behavior and bad behavior, but between living by the Spirit and living under the law. The sinful nature is not only the part of us that openly rebels against God's commands—it is also the part that tries to keep God's law for the wrong reasons, relying on self rather than on a relationship with Him. Verse 18 is the key: "But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law." As we walk with Christ and depend on His Spirit, we are set free from both rebellion and self-righteousness to live the joyful, abundant life God intended.
Perhaps the most important verse in the Bible you don't know! Mike Conan
