Mistakes Are A Certainty

What is up—Understory Bard here, Wade Skalsky. On Creative Peril this week: mistakes are a certainty. I'm about to cut a check on a first-time move in a young pillar of the business—fourth month in, roughly break-even, money that hurts a little—and I already know I won't vet it perfectly. I'll leave cash on the table. Your subconscious can't workshop a deal you never do. (Like Jaws and Aliens: not naming the thing lets your mind conjure something scarier than reality.)
Life isn't a choose-your-own-adventure with one correct path to a Morpheus ending. It's an open universe. You don't know what you don't know until you act. Even Tom Brady whiffs—if "sexy Tom Brady" can mess up jiu-jitsu logistics, you're not navigating this perfectly either.
Mistakes aren't just inevitable—they're required. They open pathways and become future comfort if you retrain the comfort-machine brain. Take the edge off so you burn less creative capital forcing the start. Nobody's watching the garage bunker; what you learn from the miss, you own forever. Mistakes are an investment. From the garage bunker—talk soon.
