ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Liv Kaplan is a holistic nutritionist (BSc), recipe creator and self-proclaimed healthy chef who you may know as the creator of beautifully plated, mouthwatering yet healthy recipes that are refined sugar-free and focus on real, whole food.
Liv has a particular interest in how what we are eating affects our minds and moods, and measures success by how happy and well we feel. Even as a young teenager - before Instagram was invented and wellness influencers became prevalent - she was often found making herself a green smoothie in her kitchen!
In this episode, Liv chats to Gabe about:
- How she got into health, wellness and nutrition
- Her approach to fat and calories
- Whether "calories in, calories out" is all that matters
- Her protocol for someone looking to improve body composition
- Her philosophy on food and how to eat as closely to nature as possible
- Why she went sugar-free and her preferred sugar alternatives
- Whether we actually need carbohydrates in our diets
- How to manage cravings
- The problem with vegetable and seed oils
- The truth about the health food aisle in supermarkets
- Her fundamentals of eating well
- Her anti-goal setting process
- And much more!
