00:05:47.220 --> 00:05:53.430

00:05:54.600 --> 00:06:13.019
Oh, no, no, I it's actually a big snowstorm here. So I was actually moving snow rain a bit as a big big snowstorm. So I was cleaning out my driveway. And you know, yeah, three, three cars cleaned out three cars. So it was a it was a big task, but we're never gets it done.
00:06:13.050 --> 00:06:15.449
Yeah, for sure.
00:06:13.050 --> 00:06:24.120
Yeah, we had that same snow storm come through this way. And it's all quiet now. And so yeah, but you didn't hurt your back or anything doing that pushing out a
00:06:24.569 --> 00:06:27.149
shovel.
00:06:24.569 --> 00:06:27.149
No, no, no, no, no.
00:06:28.199 --> 00:06:30.360
Just put you in better shape. Or workout.
00:06:30.389 --> 00:06:34.350

00:06:34.468 --> 00:06:39.238

00:06:40.889 --> 00:06:43.259

00:06:43.468 --> 00:06:46.259

00:06:46.649 --> 00:06:56.788
Man. And and then prior to that I saw you. Gosh, I think I saw you at the teofimo camp, right?
00:06:57.060 --> 00:07:00.180

00:07:18.899 --> 00:07:36.779

00:07:32.970 --> 00:07:36.779
Branch check was there
00:07:36.810 --> 00:07:39.360
Yes. Yeah.
00:07:36.810 --> 00:07:42.089
Branch it was it was amazing work they had. That was that was that was awesome.
00:07:42.149 --> 00:07:45.180
Yo, man. How about his last fight?
00:07:46.050 --> 00:07:49.139
Oh, fireworks just as the answer for that one.
00:07:49.168 --> 00:07:51.449
Talk to me talk to me about that fight.
00:07:51.959 --> 00:08:07.290
That was a great fight, you know, back in back action, you know, you know, he got the he got the successor early rounds. And then homeboy came back in the men rounds. And it was just it was just a very entertaining fight. And I know a lot of fans got their money's worth and enjoy that fight.
00:08:07.379 --> 00:08:21.569
That's the fight a lot of fans be looking for and what what people want to see they want to see the action back to back. And the both of those fighters know they got they will have fired the champion. They both hit the campus got back up and was able, you know, to continue fighting most respectable for them fighters.
00:08:22.079 --> 00:08:32.220
Yeah, man barang chick and set panda. Panda. That was a fantastic fight. And I believe is that the fight of the year? Have they not decided what the fight of the year is? Yeah.
00:08:32.428 --> 00:08:36.119
That they haven't decided yet. But I know that's that's a nominee for fighters.
00:08:37.019 --> 00:08:42.600
nominee avo for that. Good thing for sure. That was and that happened in the bubble,
00:08:42.600 --> 00:08:57.480
right? In a bubble. Yes. That's, yeah, if I would have to pick up all the fights. I will pick that fight to the fight of the year, or in second will be on yamantaka Devo where the nakatani that was a good buy as well.
00:08:57.509 --> 00:09:05.519
That was a great fight. That was a great I just actually I just did a podcast, my last podcast. I covered that.
00:09:06.389 --> 00:09:15.360
Yeah, covered that fight. But But um, you know who else showed up in that camp? I don't think you were there that day. But Sparrow actually came through that teofimo camp.
00:09:15.750 --> 00:09:17.039
Oh, yeah.
00:09:15.750 --> 00:09:20.700
I was there that day when he spyware Lopez. Oh, you were there. That's right. Yeah. Okay.
00:09:20.730 --> 00:09:25.259
Yeah. He spyware Lopez. I think he did like four rounds. Lego three rounds.
00:09:25.289 --> 00:09:36.960
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, for sure. Sparrow coming out of Philadelphia. Hey, uh, we're gonna get into we're gonna get into a little bit of that fight in a little bit. But um, how's your dog?
00:09:37.620 --> 00:09:47.279
Oh, she's great. She's big. She's doing really good. She just became a service dog. Wow. She's doing awesome. She's great. She's a great dog.
00:09:47.610 --> 00:09:50.159
What kind of what kind of dog is it?
00:09:51.029 --> 00:09:53.909
I got a German Rottweiler. Wow.
00:09:54.509 --> 00:09:56.460
Yeah, the dog's name is Luna right.
00:09:56.850 --> 00:09:57.990
And diva Luna. Yeah.
00:09:59.639 --> 00:10:05.639
She goes That's awesome, man. So So how's your training been going what you've been up to,
00:10:06.629 --> 00:10:27.419
you know, you've trained this thing inactive, you know, you know, staying out of drama and just, and just, you know, waiting for that call, you know, ranked number five in the world by the web ranked number six in the world by the WTO. So, um, um, and it'll be anytime soon, but you know, there's no rush. I'm still you go
00:10:27.419 --> 00:10:28.590
in and out a little bit.
00:10:29.789 --> 00:10:35.129
So that again, you go in and out a little bit. Sorry about that.
00:10:31.379 --> 00:10:39.269
Yeah. I mean, I'm just, I'm just, you know, being patient.
00:10:35.129 --> 00:10:44.909
And I'm waiting for my timing for my opportunity to come in for it for for myself to rise on the rise for the moment.
00:10:45.179 --> 00:10:48.179
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
00:10:45.179 --> 00:10:55.919
And it's coming. I know it's coming. I can I can feel it coming. Might have to use that song. What's that Phil Collins song? I can hear they're calm.
00:10:55.980 --> 00:10:56.279
And?
00:10:57.389 --> 00:10:57.960
Yeah.
00:11:00.029 --> 00:11:01.289
Oh, yeah. That's
00:11:01.289 --> 00:11:11.190
a great song. As your next ring rock. So So how have you been dealing with COVID-19 and sparring and just being in the gym? How's that working?
00:11:12.240 --> 00:11:53.370
Oh, man, that's, that's the difficult side after left. That's the bad part, you know, finding sparring on dealing with this cold, this social distance, you know, those are the difficult tasks. But having a great stable team that I have, you know, we were we're able to get the work done and inspire each other and help each other out to stay, you know, active and stay safe. Right. But overall, overall, to get new lows, and use bombing to get no similarities to the point that we're that we're fighting, or we may be fighting. It's, um, it's difficult, you know. And so, I know not everyone is capable to have the best camp, but I know us as fighters. We're, we're the type of fighter that we adjust.
00:11:50.460 --> 00:11:53.370
And we'll make it happen. So
00:11:53.490 --> 00:12:08.940
Oh, yeah. And, you know, all the top top world class modalities and training regimens. So you know, you can, you can manage somewhat when you're when you're out there in COVID, you know, Yes, exactly.
00:12:04.470 --> 00:12:45.509
Yeah, for sure. For sure. You definitely equipped to handle that. I've watched to work. So I know. I know that. I know that to be true. Yes. So, um, you know, I'm sure that the listeners are gonna want to know a little bit about you know, your, your beard, right, we can't we can't have an interview without talking about your beard. So I wonder if you could just share with the listeners a little bit about what what's behind the beard. And it's really a trademark, it's Can you become very recognized with that beard? And I think it's just a really great look for you.
00:12:46.529 --> 00:13:58.740
Yeah, like you said, it's a trademark, it's my representation and tells how tells you a lot about who I am or what I do, you know, you know, in law started with the support of the national arm of the hurricane that happened in Puerto Rico the mafia, do you know, the National Baseball team, they all you know, decided to dye their hair blonde has the support, support with the color blondes, me, unity to stay united and, um, you know, me being being born in Puerto Rico, I wanted to support as well of the, of the hurricane that happened and Puerto Rico. So, you know, we want you to be a bit different because that's, that's what we are. And we know we decided to die are just sorry, not our hair, but our beard blonde. And then, you know, we dyed it blonde, and we fought and we got we got a lot of a lot of a lot of love and a lot of looks at it. So we attract a lot of tension a lot of people and we'd like to feel that we got from it, you know, there's always gonna be some, some negative comments out there. But at the end of the day, it was all positive. And it was all comments, but more positive than than nothing. So, you know, we kept out and then we make that my signature Look who I am, you know, supernova.
00:13:55.200 --> 00:14:10.980
You know, I'm part of the nice part of the world, but I'm part of the galaxy. I'm part of the universe. I love you know, man, I love it. That's how we run with it. You know, this is my look, and you will you you will be seeing this look for the rest of my career.
00:14:12.330 --> 00:14:21.509
supernova is a powerful and luminous stellar explosion. Yes. That's what's up.
00:14:21.929 --> 00:14:22.470
Yes.
00:14:23.610 --> 00:14:28.409
Yeah. Very powerful.
00:14:23.610 --> 00:14:32.610
Yeah, man. So listen, as you know, I'm a big fan of yours.
00:14:28.409 --> 00:14:54.840
I've been following you and but what I what I, what I didn't really get is what kind of stellar amateur background you actually had. Like, I never really, I never really knew what your amateur background was. And I believe it was over 170 over 200 how many fights Did you have any amateurs
00:14:55.379 --> 00:15:08.399
had a lot had a lot in it. We had 157 wins. 11 losses, and probably around 16 knockouts. I had an amateur that was a big puncher.
00:15:05.070 --> 00:15:16.590
You know? You get x Lopez, you got X, you know, my amateur stablemates. I was knocking everyone out in amateurs. Yeah.
00:15:13.379 --> 00:15:19.230
When I got like not not stoppage. I was putting them out coadministered stretchers.
00:15:19.320 --> 00:15:37.860
Wow, wow. Yeah, I mean, I know that. And with a record like 167 amateur fights 167 wins with 11 losses. I mean clearly. You know, I mean, your pro record is similar, which we'll get into in a bit. You're in 130 pound division.
00:15:39.179 --> 00:15:40.440
Right? Yes.
00:15:41.460 --> 00:15:57.870
And that division is chock full of talent and competition waiting, waiting to take place. And do you know, who do you feel is the best in that class outside of supernova.
00:15:59.730 --> 00:16:03.330
supernova?
00:15:59.730 --> 00:16:41.580
And if I it for me to pick that would be a very hard decision to take because, you know, I can't say that unless I'm in the ring with the mentee who I got to fight everyone. And I'll tell you who knows who's the who's more difficult or whatnot because you know, style makes fights. So that that's that's it? I can't give you an answer for that. But if I will have to give you an answer who has the best resume? I will say it will be makeover child makeover child. You know, I think he defended his title probably six, seven times. He's the reigning longest world champion at 130 pounds for the WBC. So I would say he has the best resume right now. But um, to see who's the best fighter? that's that's that's, I can't ask you that because I haven't been in the ring with those guys.
00:16:41.850 --> 00:16:48.389
Right. Well, they've been talking about Chicago Stevenson lining up with Michelle, what do you think about that matchup?
00:16:49.169 --> 00:17:07.529
That's an interesting method to be honest, you know, that's a box that's the boxer versus the puncher that's interesting matchup, you know, on the show, got to experience he got the power, of course, the core, he got the talent, he got the skill, so, and he has a youth so you know, it, it all comes down to you know, I'm watching that fight and let and let the better man win.
00:17:09.029 --> 00:17:12.809
Yeah, right.
00:17:09.029 --> 00:17:15.269
Exactly. So you're not making any predictions. I take it because you're in that division.
00:17:15.269 --> 00:17:48.180
But, you know, I'm thinking that's going to be probably Chicago's toughest fight. Sir, certainly the fight with Toka con was was relatively disappointing. From the state if you if you're a total con fan, you know, took a con Clary I certainly have admired his work for quite a long time and I felt like he he he just you know, he was almost like he was a pitcher perfect opponent for for Chicago Stevenson in that he just sat in the pocket with his hands high.
00:17:44.460 --> 00:17:55.289
Right at the right right at the mark when the shots to just come filtering in and that or he was going backward. He was on his back.
00:17:55.440 --> 00:18:08.789
Yeah, right. Yeah. Yeah, I felt like a, to be honest, to look a little calm was too small fish, of course, all kinds of he's 120 226 pounder. Exactly. he's not, he's not really 130 pounds.
00:18:05.430 --> 00:18:48.240
He's a very smart fighter. And I felt like, he lost. I feel like in that fight, he lost confidence. To be honest. I feel like he didn't fight the way he usually fight. I felt like he was really discouraged. And I said, like, you know, having on, you know, financial course students, and he has a big name behind them. And I could see, I could see a lot of people getting discouraged. You're stepping in the ring with them because of the hype he brings, you know, so I feel like he didn't fight his fight. If he would afford his fight, it would have been a better fight. But um, hey, it is what it is no, one, he got it done. You know, nothing was recorded. He got it done. And I'm, like you'd like you know, I'm talking con. He's a great fighter, but I felt like he wasn't able to display his real talent that night.
00:18:48.539 --> 00:19:29.640
Well, you know what, I'm glad to hear you say that because i i agree with you. 100% I actually have followed Toko Khan for a long time. I've seen him in some tough fights. I've seen him do amazing things in the ring. And when I saw that performance, I'm just thinking to myself, this is just not this is not the token I've been I've been following so you know to your point, you know shawcor has a lot of hype behind him to fighting in the bubble. There's something to that there's something to the way that that all lays itself out. And I just I just feel like like yeah, you're right he's just a smaller fighter but but Charlie's a different kind of fight is a different kind Yeah, so yeah,
00:19:29.878 --> 00:20:01.199
yeah, but show that shows a different kind of fight but choke guy he's a world champion. He has like he got the high being behind them he got the buzz so you know he's gonna you know he's gonna go into that fight while a lot of confidence on like took a con You know, he didn't have a lot of buzz either have a lot of recognition on he didn't you know, he just didn't he you know, he I felt like he was intimidated by them by she of course Stevenson I'm hype and his following and all of that, you know, on like bombshell he's gonna come in there What? Well, you know, like, I'm demand I run thing and I'm gonna do my thing.
00:19:58.949 --> 00:20:07.469
I feel that gonna be a great fight because you're going to have two confident fighters and they're going all out and and know you're going to feel the best man win.
00:20:08.220 --> 00:20:52.410
Yeah, man. Yeah, but this here, this is what I want to say. So, Abraham supernova is 2017 national champion. He's a super featherweight contender in case you don't know and you're not hip to this. He's, uh, his professional record is 19 fights zero losses, 14 of those wins have come by way of big knockout and five by way of decision. His knockout ratio is 73.68. And quite honestly, like, you're it's like it's almost like a train common. A train is coming.
00:20:46.019 --> 00:20:56.549
You're signed by. I believe it's top rank and also Is there someone else involved in the Yes, promotion
00:20:56.819 --> 00:21:04.230
is 1212 rounds promotion, they out of Belgium, and Murphy's boxing, beautiful, beautiful. That's excellent.
00:21:04.230 --> 00:21:11.009
And then you're managed by the one and only David Mick waters and I believe Tim van Newhouse.
00:21:12.119 --> 00:21:13.289
Yeah, that's correct. Those that Yep.
00:21:13.289 --> 00:21:17.430
burger. They're both they're both my co managers represented split team management.
00:21:17.549 --> 00:21:38.369
Perfect. Yep. Split team management, shout outs for team management. And you are so check this out for y'all listening and you're ranked by the web at number five. And you're ranked into devil by the WTO. Number seven. Yes. And we're Where exactly are you ranked in the WBC in the IBF?
00:21:38.369 --> 00:21:39.420
What's up with those guys?
00:21:39.839 --> 00:21:45.750
So I'm bringing VC last time to Vegas came I'm bringing number 222.
00:21:41.970 --> 00:21:52.380
Yeah, and I see what I get. I think it was 32. So I'm ranked in there. But you know, I still haven't felt fulfilled on their boats or another. Thanks, man.
00:21:52.380 --> 00:21:53.730
So yeah, I'll get there.
00:21:53.819 --> 00:22:24.390
Yeah, for sure. WBC and IBF. Hey, listen, you're on notice guys, come on, you gotta pay attention here. I was rocking it out. So, um, let's talk about the guys that were at the top of the division in the WTO, WPA WBC and the IVF. So it's so in the web? Oh, we've got Jamal herring. Yes. Let's talk about him. What do you know about him?
00:22:25.470 --> 00:22:46.589
Um, you know, he's a, He's a fighter that had a tough, you know, start sauce, a start up in his career, you know, a couple of hours. But then he had a nice turnaround, you know, he signed with top rank, and got a good management and, you know, they got the right fights and was able to become, you know, um, that would be a world champion, you know, he's a great fighter.
00:22:41.940 --> 00:23:28.319
But, you know, I'm, I'm ranked by that and you know, and I know splitsies management and I'm top brain comorbidity, but Bob Mo, you know, they, I know, they reached out to him, not to him, but his team about fighting me a couple of times, they you know, they turned it down. So, you know, I don't blame them. I gotta wait to become mandatory to fight that fight. But um, you know, I was willing and ready to fight him whenever. I'm, you know, so it's, it's, it is what it is. But overall, he's a great fighter, great guy, great person. You know, I know he's, he's an arm. He's gonna he was in a marine. So he's a great person, great guy, great fighter. And I'm much respect to him and what he's doing in a boxing game,
00:23:28.349 --> 00:23:31.470
right for sure.
00:23:28.349 --> 00:23:36.869
Shout out Jamal Haring and then you got in the WPA Leo Santa Cruz.
00:23:37.980 --> 00:23:40.589
All right, no more. We got demonte Davis.
00:23:40.859 --> 00:23:54.329
Oh, god, it's your vontae Davis is VBA No, yeah, that would be it. And then WBC is Macau gal. Rochelle and the IVF is Jojo Diaz
00:23:56.970 --> 00:24:37.410
Yes. There was out we have called out tank couple times. So and then we caught we called out bringing our vital word champion. And, um, you know, they you know, I feel like I'm a higher level Warfighter I'm not really recognized like he's fighting but I, I have the skill set and the qualities has these high class fighters, you know, so when they see me they're like, Man, this guy's difficult. And fighting him, I ain't gonna get you know, I'm not getting awarded and as an as a child, and so I might as well skip them. And that's, that's, that's why I have to wait to become mandatory so I can get my shot.
00:24:34.349 --> 00:24:42.900
Because I know, right off the bat, none of these guys called me out to fight me. Because like, like I said, I'm a high risk, low reward.
00:24:43.710 --> 00:24:44.279
Right?
00:24:44.819 --> 00:25:23.099
Right. That makes a lot of sense. I mean, I can understand that. For those of you that are listening in if you haven't had a chance to see supernovas work, you know, you certainly can find his stuff up on YouTube and you know, if you want to if you want to research him, you can See what why. Some of the top guys some of the high class guys at the top of the division don't want to, you know, hear anything about supernova. Amazing. So basically you you entered the ring, I believe was it in June when you enter the ring against that every Sparrow?
00:25:23.669 --> 00:25:25.679
Yes, it was June it was in June Yep.
00:25:27.420 --> 00:26:18.269
Yeah. And you, you, you came out victorious in a 10 round contest, and I believe the scores are like 9991 9793 and 9694. In what was a really interesting fight. If you look at the fight in totality, it was a really interesting fight. It took place it in the bubble at the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas. And, you know, you really stepped on the gas after six, round six, six to 10. And you really, you know, came out victorious. I was wondering if, if that particular Was that your game plan to do that? Or did it just kind of unfold that way?
00:26:19.619 --> 00:28:03.119
Um, a bit of both, I thought I could give you explanation on how that fight occurred and what happened on the stand that that, you know, he also got a late notice for that fight. I also got a late notice they make it seem that he just got the late notice, but I did as well. Um, so prior to that I was supposed to fight over con Rand Do you know, that fight Fallout, so you know, going from a software tool to a fighter like AB sparrows slick, and you know, very well, a lot of movement. Um, you know, it was subsequent, that's that type of sparring, but not fighting, while we was already, we already had to the combat of soft for fighter. So that adjustment was a bit difficult, but as a fighter, you we know how to adjust. So, you know, we took the fight, the fight happened. Um, I was I knew I wasn't at my best conditioning, I wasn't in my best shape. So going into fight I was, I was being very reserved, I didn't want to, and also, I listened to my corner, my corner didn't want me to go out because, you know, they also understand the conditioning I was bringing, right? I wasn't at my best and that's why people don't know is that if you've been following me my whole career, and if you watch me fight, I'm gonna seek and destroy fighters. I go in there and I take you out. You know, but you know, with this whole pandemic situation and we was he was like this like the third Fight of the of the bubble, the hoses pandemic thing going on? No, we didn't, I didn't have a lot of time to train to train or the gym shut down with stuff going on. So I wasn't at my best. So when in that fight, you know, firing off, I couldn't really go out the way I wanted to. Because, hey, like, if I take this chance, and I don't get a mount, I'm gonna get out. And then you can have success, you know, so I was like, let me stay asleep.
00:27:59.430 --> 00:28:55.109
And let me box. And then if I can still have a bit of energy, I'll take it out later on later on the fight. And that's exactly what I did. I feel like I was able to win those early rounds, just do the minimum movement and scoring. I was scoring how they had in 9991. That's how we scored it. I feel like the only one that I lost was the fifth round. But other than that, I felt like I dominated the fight that I box clearly. I hit them with clean flush shots. And I felt like the commentators and some of the judges, they got caught up with oddest noises. He was an artist shadowboxing. He was doing the air. Yes, it may seem that he was busy, but being busy of throwing punches, and it's a different country and you haven't affect the shots. I had a lot of effective shots. Yeah, I didn't throw as much. But everything I threw landed. So um, yeah, I feel like that was the difference and the viewer will judge you want to stand up?
00:28:55.138 --> 00:29:23.009
That's right. That's right. No, no, I would just, you know, also play into I would actually add to what you said, which is that yes, he Avery Sparrow has had in the fight, you could see he was not in his best shape. He came into the ring, not in his best shape. And you could see that he was really relying on that pot on his jab, and the dimensional he has a very, very nice dimensional jab.
00:29:18.959 --> 00:29:44.278
And he throws it from lots of different angles, and there's a lot of head movement, shoulder movement and footwork that accompanies it. So you know, when you hear that when that jab is coming out and hitting the dead weight or just hitting the air, and you hear that Hahaha, along with that, then, you know, that's like the theater of boxing. So I am just going to concur with what you said.
00:29:44.578 --> 00:30:12.898
Because if you go back and you look at the fight, you can see a lot of the shots were just landing in the air, they weren't even landing. So So I mean, no disrespect to AV Sparrow or anything, but because actually I would, I would You know, take my hat off to him for being able to produce that kind of a spectacle for the, for the judges, you know, to the point where they would give him those rounds?
00:30:08.999 --> 00:30:53.398
Which I just didn't see that, you know. Mm hmm. So yeah, I mean, you you even quoted as saying that Sparrow was kind of slippery and tough to hit, you know, in the fight. And, you know, your patience was really key in the fight. And I just, I just want to commend you, because I think that the strategy of waiting till you know, halfway through the fight, or a little more than halfway through the fight, to really turn it on his jab, there was nothing in the jab, it was nothing there. So yeah, that was really a very smart, very smart, COVID-19.
00:30:54.539 --> 00:30:56.730
Way, in the bubble.
00:30:58.109 --> 00:32:03.269
So you know, we made it work, we made it happen, I'm not not all due respect to him. Like I say, he's a great fighter. But um, he didn't give me my best. And I'm sure that I probably didn't get him as best, you know, and I'm, and it was just the, it was the who wins, who adjust him and makes it makes it better. And I feel like I did, I felt like I did everything correct. And I feel like if you watch the fight closely, and turn the commentating down, you will see nothing on his side land, and you'll see my job's my body shots, right hands, you will see all the effective shot that I landed, you know, but a lot of people get caught up with a commentators of what they say, then they start agreeing and listen and seeing a different perspective in a fight. Because they get caught up by the competition. A lot of times, if you watch a fight, you'll see a different version of a fight. If you watch it three or four times, with the with the volume down, you see a different version every single time, because you're not getting caught up of what the commentators are saying, right?
00:32:00.599 --> 00:32:03.269
No, absolutely.
00:32:03.269 --> 00:32:21.329
You're absolutely right. If you want to know, if you want to be able to Well, first of all, you have to be trained to score to score matches, and really know what you're looking for, what the scoring criteria actually is, but, you know, assuming you know that you really can't have the volume up, because you really can't score the match properly.
00:32:21.329 --> 00:33:06.150
When you hear them, you know, you know, whatever it is it's going on. In terms of the commentating I mean, yeah, you're absolutely right. And like, like you said, I kind of tend to agree with you that there were a lot of air shots and a lot of noise, sound effects that were taking place to throughout the fight. And I saw, I saw probably like in the seventh round, I don't know, if it happened in the seventh round, but I could see your eyes. And I saw you kind of just, you know, stay in with him. He was on the outside of the ring, you know, the ring ropes, and you were kind of just walking him down. And I could feel like that, that you really saw something, what was it that you saw,
00:33:07.650 --> 00:34:01.710
or I hit him, I hit him with a great right hand. And he had no response for it. And then, you know, once I hit him, he was running around, he spit his mouthpiece out to look for more time. So on, I knew I had him hurt. But I was like, Hey, I got to slow it down. Because after I through that little exchange, I got really tired. So I had to slow it down, get my win back and try it again. But um, like I said, I wasn't at my best at night, I was still gonna get the victory. But in that round, that's what I saw. And then continue those other rounds. I was looking to seek and destroy but very smart in the way where I won't get out. Because I said, You know, I felt like he was still dangerous, dangerous fighter, the good fighter for sure. He could still he could still, you know, get away with something. So I will be in real smart and everything I was doing but you know, I just at the same time. I was trying to I would not go
00:34:02.190 --> 00:34:18.119
Yeah, man and you know, to know that you were not at your 100%. And to note the punch stats are for that fight, you know, courtesy compu box, your total number of punches landed versus Sparrow, you landed 112 he landed 60
00:34:19.530 --> 00:34:20.099
that's, that's,
00:34:21.090 --> 00:35:01.559
yeah, man, you you threw 428 he threw 434 but you landed at at 26% rate and Sparrow landed at 14. So that speaks directly to those air shots. You You landed 46 of your jabs versus sparrows. 16. So it's only 16 of all those jabs actually landed, and jabs thrown he to 251 jabs and you threw only 249 so you were behind them and the number of jabs but you're you're I mean you landed you know 25 percent of your jobs.
00:35:02.099 --> 00:35:07.860
And and you know, and just by this by that you can see that people get cut off. He's being more busy.
00:35:07.860 --> 00:35:18.329
So I'm giving him the round, a bit more busy, but he's not landing. Right. Is that being busy? Or is that landing? right what I was doing? And he wasn't.
00:35:19.168 --> 00:35:47.878
Right, exactly. So no, I mean, I think all in all, you know, knowing that you're not even in, you know, 130 pound top, you know, top five, you know, condition to know that you did that with it with an incredible fighter because sparrows a great fighter, that you were able to produce that kind of performances, you know, hats off to you and what was it like to perform in the MGM bubble? What was that, like?
00:35:48.478 --> 00:35:50.248
Walk us through that experience
00:35:50.309 --> 00:36:29.250
I've been, I was just there, maybe that's what maybe that's maybe different in difficult experience. Um, I will say, I will say, the whole process of you know, after the weight cut, I'm not again, not training the right way because you're coming to so if you got weight to lose you, like, I was struggling to make the weight. And then after that, I'm gonna be hydration, man, you can't go out to eat, you can't walk around, you can't shop you got to eat, the food they eat and you got to eat at the time to eat. So to be hydration was really tough. And then going to the fight, man, there's no crowd and you know, I'm gonna fight I'll feed off the crowd. I love the crowd.
00:36:24.869 --> 00:36:48.030
Man, you know, I love I love my fans, and they give me my motivation. They give me my gentleman going and in finding in that in that empty box, right, that square circle, it was just different. That bubble was different. So um, I you know, I still was able to get it done. But hey, man, I need my fans back. ASAP.
00:36:48.119 --> 00:36:54.510
No, what was it like for you? Because you were one of the first warriors to get out there in June. What was it?
00:36:54.510 --> 00:37:08.159
Like? I mean, I, I could probably answer this and ask you to share with the listeners what it was like when you walk out for your ring walk. They throw the smoke in your face. Right?
00:37:08.159 --> 00:37:17.460
You come out there's nobody there. And then all you see is all these masked people. Massive strangers. Like
00:37:19.320 --> 00:37:21.420
I was like, the world's coming to an end.
00:37:24.989 --> 00:37:29.789
Oh my gosh. Yeah.
00:37:24.989 --> 00:37:34.559
And, and then on top of it. What was the food? Like, walk us through what the food is like when you're in the bubble?
00:37:35.548 --> 00:37:42.659
Not to talk bad about the food or whatnot. But I have to It's horrible. I'm a Hispanic dude.
00:37:42.659 --> 00:37:51.989
I'm Latino. You know, I'm so happy. My rice and chicken. And you know, my platanos and stuff.
00:37:47.699 --> 00:37:57.028
He and dang going for me in bologna sandwich. It's, it's, it's not the same. Yeah.
00:37:57.778 --> 00:38:31.739
You know what, when I was there, I was up there with Jonathan Rodriguez. Shout out indios boxing in Bethlehem and Jonathan Rodriguez. But I was out there with the team. And I kind of felt like it was like being in the Parthenon. You know, like being one of those old school gladiators is locked up in a cage, waiting for the door to open up for the Tigers to you know, come out and just ravaging that's what I was experiencing while I was there.
00:38:33.329 --> 00:38:36.630
Oh, man, I understand what you mean.
00:38:37.619 --> 00:38:46.110
I know you do better than most. So how many times you want to fight in 2020 2021?
00:38:47.369 --> 00:39:00.780
You know, at least at least I'll say six times. I mean six times. Three times. Yeah. You know, get get get those get those numbers in?
00:38:57.239 --> 00:39:07.050
Um, you know, cuz I'm finding high quality opponents. So they're long training camps, tough training camps. But um, yeah.
00:39:07.739 --> 00:39:15.119
So who out of the top guys? Are you interested in facing? Who are they?
00:39:15.989 --> 00:39:32.610
Any World Champion To be honest, you're world champion. We find I need that strap. I need that belt. I need to become champ I need to get with mine. So, you know right now the world champions Miguel. Miguel Patel. I would love to get a ring with him.
00:39:29.250 --> 00:39:58.349
Jamal herring. I would love to get him bringing with him. Jojo DS I would love to get him bring with him. And take David's I would love to get away with him and or when you provide him I would love to get anyone from any of those fighters in the world champions. I'm not ducking and dodging no one. I've let that no one clicks the top bring that I need to fight the best. I have. I'm a great fighter. I have no championship skills. So let's get let's get it going.
00:39:59.309 --> 00:40:31.679
Yeah, man. That's Powerful coming from, you know, supernova himself, man that that's quite a statement. And certainly, you know, they're all on notice, because you just put them on notice that you're ready to fight the best, the best of the best. And, yeah, and so what do you think about what do you think about the 135 pound division? Because I, I know that you probably you probably come in, you probably walk around weight is somewhere in the 40s right?
00:40:32.670 --> 00:40:57.329
Yes, well, you know, yes, I walk around on 144 140 143 stay around dead on past that. So I stay in 140 I never I never seen 160 I never seen 147 right. I the high lap band is 4645. But I stay in 4443. That's not to say when I say get in shape I I woke up on 141 42
00:40:57.539 --> 00:41:23.070
Wow. Yeah, I mean, cuz even in that weight class, that's a poppin weight class right now a lot. teofimo Lopez and that whole crew there. But you know, I know that teofimo is probably not going to stay in that weight class for very long, much longer. I mean, I guess they want to see what what comes. But that's another week class, I think, you know, with your body type, you know, you would do just fine there if you ever wanted to fight at 135
00:41:23.519 --> 00:41:51.300
Oh, yes, of course, yes, you know, I would love to move up. But you know, I have done that. 130 I'm bringing that 130 so I got to get my strap at 130 and then after that I'm done again, what I'm getting at that weight class and you know, the, you know, 135 will be next 140 will be next Eagle 147 I feel like I have the body to bulk up get big and um, do some damage at this weight class. So, let's get it poppin So,
00:41:51.719 --> 00:42:35.280
yeah, absolutely, absolutely. You heard it here first. So, you know, I just I just want to make a statement, which is to say that you are so such a likable, such a likable person. And you are extremely, extremely marketable, which is, you know, probably why top ranking and split tea both, you know, separately and you're all of your team has a really ignited your career. And I just what is your view on being marketable and the importance of working on this aspect of your career as you climb up the ranks?
00:42:35.849 --> 00:42:41.340
It's everything, especially now in degeneration in this era, you know, you have to be marketable.
00:42:41.369 --> 00:43:19.679
Everything is now its brand through social media, the internet, everything is powered, you know, through Instagram, Facebook, so you have to be marketable if you want to be the best that is being the best fighter is being a marketable fighter now, people people think about the skills Yeah, the skill matters, but you also got to sell the skills you got you got to put assets on the sea. And so that's that's, that's that that's what's all about now in this era, you know, and that's one thing I that I don't have to try so hard because I just have that but I'm I'm playing a bit more because I know that's what was needed to make it to that next level. Oh, yeah.
00:43:19.679 --> 00:43:38.789
Yep, that's right to pack them in. And certainly your skills, you know, your skills, pay bills and you you certainly have the skills and the marketability to stand at the top. You've got the following I know you fought all over the world, right? Yes. All over the world. What are some of the places you fought?
00:43:39.900 --> 00:43:46.619
You know, has had an amateur I fought You know, I'm in Poland. I fought Mexico, Dominican Republic.
00:43:46.980 --> 00:44:33.389
Puerto Rico, France. I fought in Costa Rica. I fought in a word that a foot in Mexico plenty of times, um, you know, a logo and then as a pro, I've been to a china I've been to long oogway Um, I've been to on course, I've been to these places. A Guadalajara Mexico. Dominican Republic. Wow, Belgium. The list goes on of the pages. I've been to as a professional and as an amateur. So I travel a lot and I have I grabbed a lot of fans.
00:44:33.599 --> 00:44:46.110
Wow. Yeah, that's amazing man. And and so what would you tell your younger self? If you could talk to your younger self? What would you tell your younger self? Hmm.
00:44:47.460 --> 00:44:52.619
To be honest, nothing. I feel like I've worked hard and I've done everything I could have done.
00:44:52.889 --> 00:45:03.539
I've never cheated my way out on anything. I come from a very hard working family. So there's nothing I could really say that I would have done different because everything's coming the way I want it to.
00:45:04.050 --> 00:45:17.610
Wow, that's great, man. So I did it my way. Yeah, that was another ring walk for you. So what would you tell younger fighters? If If you could mentor a younger fighter?
00:45:17.610 --> 00:45:26.340
What would it mean that you would tell them that they're just starting out, they're, you know, somewhere in their amateur career, and they're looking to turn pro, what would you tell them,
00:45:27.360 --> 00:46:48.119
I would tell them, my first is to have patience, on patience is the key to everything. Patience, and, and, and understand timing that everything in life has this time. And this is just a purpose for everything, a lot of fighters, young, they want to rush into it, they want to get to a height, they want to get to that, but they have to understand that God has a timing for everyone that God has a purpose for everyone, and you cannot rush that time. So just be patient, work hard and believe in God. And if you follow those three things, I feel like you will make a far in life. Amen. To come true. So yes, you know, by first of all, you know, follow God chose God, you know, work very hard and be patient and, and that and that in whichever order you want to do is do that. And I tell you, well, first guy, but the other tool, whichever order, do that, and I promise you God would you know, your dreams will come true and everything will come come into play. But if you've rushed this process, or you rush things, a lot of bad things to happen, you know, you could be in the wrong in the wrong and the wrong end of the road. And I just say that, because, you know, God has a purpose for each one of us in Lightroom. And he knows what he wants for a lot of times I say that I look at these fighters. You know, I'm 26 years old, I look at these fighters.
00:46:44.670 --> 00:47:18.420
They're 2021 2020 and they're world champion. I'm like, why, like, why I'm not a world champion. But I think about it, I felt like probably if I was the world champion at that age, I won't be able to handle that pressure. I probably won't be able to be you know, in the right state of mind having all that tension or that same you know, God chooses who he wants at that at the time of last Oh, and and you know, so I understand my place and I understand that God has a purpose for me and I might not be a world champion now Really?
00:47:16.199 --> 00:47:29.280
I know I'll be I'll be a world champion but it's all in God's God's timing and all out all I have to do is work hard. Work hard Be patient and follow God
00:47:29.909 --> 00:47:34.739
ah yeah so beautiful. Abraham so beautiful.
00:47:34.739 --> 00:47:40.349
Well sad man just really really beautifully. You know, stated.
00:47:40.650 --> 00:47:58.320
And you know, tell us something tell us something tell the listeners in the boxing breakdown, something we don't know about? Abraham supernova, something we don't know about you? And nobody else knows about you.
00:47:59.849 --> 00:48:00.389
Um
00:48:02.969 --> 00:48:52.860

And um, you know, I know one thing after I'm done boxing, that's that, that's my calling is to preach the Word of God and say, so just like my parents do.
