ABOUT THIS EPISODE
“I built SPOT to get it to this level, I want to shoot it past to where everyone has a 3D model that’s all baked in.”
Join Devon as he chats with John Brock of SPOT!
John is a custom home design/build contractor, an expert 3D modeler, author of “SketchUp for Builders,” and a SketchUp Extension Developer, specializing in building highly detailed 3D models of construction projects—both his own projects and now for builders across North America. His 3D models are used during the pre-construction phase to identify any issues, design mistakes, clashes, and other potential problems, saving time and money.
From SPOT's website: "SPOT was built by a custom home builder for BUILDERS! We experienced firsthand the frustration of juggling multiple disconnected tools, losing data in the gaps, and dealing with constant communication breakdowns between the office and the field. We saw builders struggling with fragmented software solutions that forced them to enter the same data multiple times, made it impossible to see the big picture, and left field teams without the information they needed when they needed it. Our mission is simple: create a true Single Point of Truth for residential construction. One platform where drawings, models, schedules, estimates, and field documentation all work together seamlessly. Because builders deserve tools that work as hard as they do."
