ABOUT THIS EPISODE
NEW Season Start
The United Kingdom (UK) does not have "departments" in the same way as France or the United States. Instead, it is made up of four countries and administrative regions. These are:
1. England
2. Scotland
3. Wales
4. Northern Ireland
Within these countries, there are local government divisions such as counties, boroughs, cities, and districts, but they are not referred to as "departments."
However, if you're referring to the UK government departments (ministries), here is a list of the main ones:
1. Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS)
2. Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS)
3. Department for Education (DfE)
4. Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA)
5. Department for International Trade (DIT)
6. Department for Transport (DfT)
7. Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC)
8. Department of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG)
9. Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
10. Department for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs (FCDO)
11. Department of Defence (MOD)
12. Department of Justice (MOJ)
13. Department of Home Office (HO)
14. Her Majesty's Treasury (HMT)
15. Department for Northern Ireland (NIO)
16. Department for Scotland (Scottish Government)
