ABOUT THIS EPISODE
The Buffalo Bills are 5-1 heading into their bye week, but should fans really feel good about this team? On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Matt Warren of SB Nation/Buffalo Rumblings for their weekly Buffalo Bills positional analysis and report card following a narrow victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
The biggest discussion centers on C.J. Gardner-Johnson, whose poor play and costly ejection have Patrick calling for the Bills to move on immediately. Is Gardner-Johnson the biggest liability on Buffalo's defense, and does general manager Brandon Beane need to make a significant trade for a safety before the NFL trade deadline?
There's plenty of football analysis beyond the safety controversy, including encouraging performances from Josh Allen, James Cook, Keon Coleman, Deone Walker and Christian Benford. The guys also discuss Josh Palmer's struggles, the development of Buffalo's young linebackers, the return of Tre'Davious White and an intriguing theory involving a potential Max Hairston trade.
Matt hands out grades to every Bills positional group, including an outstanding performance from special teams, while the guys examine whether Buffalo's historically struggling defense can improve enough to make a legitimate Super Bowl run.
Key Takeaways- C.J. Gardner-Johnson's future: Patrick makes a strong case for releasing the veteran safety, while Matt examines Buffalo's potential replacement options and trade possibilities.

- Complete positional report card: Matt grades every position, highlighting a dominant special teams performance and continued problems at safety, linebacker and cornerback.
- Super Bowl concerns: With Buffalo surrendering nearly 29 points per game, can Josh Allen and the offense continue overcoming the defense's shortcomings?
