ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Talk Truth 10.08.26 - Vince Byfield Part 1 | The Alberta independence debate usually focuses on whether the province should leave Canada. Vince Byfield wants to ask a different question: what would Albertans actually build afterward? In Part 1, Byfield lays out his proposed “First Principles of Alberta,” arguing that foundational principles should be established before writing a constitution or designing a new political system. Drawing from the Bible, the American founding documents and historical legal codes, he begins with the sovereignty of God, individual rights and responsibilities, the authority of the family and his argument that government power should flow from the bottom up — beginning as close to the people as possible.
