For so many reasons, too. Yes. Embarrassingly. By a lot. Mm-hmm. but in but before we do that, we have a lot of news. Our sweet Mr. Belding. Dennis Dennis Haspert. Died. no. He's young. I know. Seven was. He was pretty young. Hey, hey, hey, hey, what is going on here? I had to do it for him. Yeah. and then Cela Sella, I didn't know that was her name. She does the voice of Lady Tremaine on Cinderella. And Maleficent, she also died. What a real incredible voice. Mm. Like just one of the sounds of my childhood. Sure. Okay. And then Verity, the John Charter, which is all over my feed. no. I wonder why he's on mine. Liz. I do. Yeah. It's funny how I like ads or different algorithm stuff. I'm like, this is my sister. this is from my neighbor. You know, it's getting like I th the Rotten Tomato score is like in the forties. But like the re the critics I trust that I like follow are all like, I actually liked it. It's like very campy. So like if you Go into it with that in mind. Yeah. You'll probably enjoy it. They're like Anne Hathaway, like knows exactly what movie she's in and is playing it really well. They're like, I don't know if Dakota Johnson does. But it's really good. Or it's really fun. Yeah. Not like cinema, but yeah. So what it is. Yeah. Spooky, scary, weird thriller. Yeah. Suspense. Yeah. Coming back into our Yeah, that's all we need. Getting in on a Dakota Johnson. I was gonna say pretended to Dakota Johnson. That's fine. Whatever movie he's in. I know with his those kids not his kids, but his kids in the movie. Yes. So cute. So cute. And he did his Paul Hollywood impression. my gosh. What a winner. Thank you. He's so cute. Okay. Like, good job, younger me. Good good choice. yeah. What a compliment. He was post Leo, right? Yeah. Yeah. That was Pearl Harbor. So have you seen the reels of him with like Did I not do him during my timeline of my route Mount Rush? I felt like I was like, You forgot Josh Hartnett. Okay. And we kind of were 'cause that was definitely Where whatever movie And the faculty. Yeah. Is that the one with terrible hair to that point when you were like fourteen or fifteen? I was traumatized. Because I was barely sixteen and I shouldn't have been going. Not and not taking me. Person that sold us the tickets was like, Yeah, sure. Face was like, Well, don't do this to yourselves in our defense. It was stacked the cast. It's crazy. Like Ewan McGregor's in there. Josh Orlando Bloom's in there. I f there's like so many more. Isn't it Jeremy Renner? I don't know. I don't know if he has I don't think he was famous yet. No. Maybe he's I know the father's day could have been. I think he was in when he was not as famous. Hmm. Because I didn't see that till later. Like I didn't watch it till later. You were smarter. I watched it on T V. Not not in a theater. We were like that one silent driving home. I just remember being like I get that one and saving private rhyme mixed up in my head too. So maybe he's in that one. It might be in Saving Private Ryan. They're like the same to me. Well, in my very soon. You know what I mean? But completely different time erases but the same. 100%. Fog of war. Yeah. Violence. I'm just like which one was which? And who was in what? Guts coming out of bodies. Yeah. That was rough. Oof. But he did look really good. yeah. He like has aged really well too. dream. And he's tall. Yes. Big. I like him big. Okay. we saw the first thing I really don't. I do. I I do care. I do care. I don't. We saw our first set photos of the mummy legs. I know. Rachel Weiss and her yellow. That was such a fun outfit. That was a fun outfit. Like a mustard yellowy jacket and so good. Or the skirt. Something. Something. It had some good follow tones to it. It'll be memorable for future Halloween costumes. I know, I'm so excited. They're so cute. They are so cute. And then Robert Eggers is going to direct an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, which I'm excited for. He's very dark and very be totally different than Baz Lerman's. it'll be the opposite and some special. It might just be black and white for all we know. Yeah. Like But I do like Robert Egger's his the The Witch. The Witch. Have you guys watched that with Anya Taylor Joy? Mm-hmm. It was like one of her first like leading roles. And it's I don't like horror. I'm not a person that likes horror, but that's one I like to watch. yeah, I won't be watching that one. It's it's so the ending, like the last line of the movie is one of my faves. So Anyway. Janine Garofalo. The goat who has been missing from our lives for too long. Teaming up with Ben Stiller again for an Apple TV comedy called Protective Custody. Mm. In which a disgraced financier accused of massive fraud is thrown into protective custody. So I'm guessing that'll be Ben Stiller. Unless he's directing or her, 'cause she's hilarious. Yeah. Ugh. Or she'll be like the officer. She's the protector. Yeah. Okay. I love either way for both of them to be together. I just love her. What's her name in Romy and Michelle's Jennifer? Something like that. And she makes they make her put on the clothes at the end. And when she's making out with what's his name from Justin Thore. From the airplane. the helicopter. Justin Thrall's in everything. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah, it's Justin Threll. Yeah. The cowboy that smokes with her. Yeah. Ugh, so I'm excited for that. And then Susan Sarandon and Olivia Coleman. Two of the living legends. Legends. Yeah. Are going to star in an upcoming thriller series called Army of Shadows. Set in a near future authoritarian Britain. so Dark. Interesting. Interesting. I like to see Love Leading Ladies. Yeah. Both of them. Incredible. So that'll be awesome. I love. We ha and Susan's random we haven't had her in our life for a long time. Yeah. Yeah. Get back in here. Well, she's probably been like soft blacklisted for being so feminist. Yeah. But we love her. And yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Politically. Yes. We love her outlined. Good for her. Yes, good for her. okay. Any other news? It's October. Come alive. I know. Come out of coffee. Yes. I'm like wanna decorate get all my stuff out. She's a good girl. I don't I did it. I really don't decorate. You did. Nice. This weekend. Whatever you say that. Nice. Last week. Nice. Yeah, I need to do it. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe I'll get some pumpkins for my porch. That's about all I do. Go to Tater Joe's. They've got good ones. They're cute. Okay. Shall we? Let's do it. Let me take you back. Okay, we're doing Ever After. it was directed by Andy Tennant and released July thirty-first, nineteen ninety-eight. Aww, close to her birthday. Right after right for me. The synopsis says the brothers Grimm arrive at the home of a wealthy grand dame who speaks of the many legends surrounding the fable of the Cinder Girl before telling the true story of her ancestor. I think it's funny that that's what they talk about. Yeah, I mean, 'cause that's like barely in the movie. Minuscule. I know. But it's good 'cause it doesn't give anything away. Yeah. I mean, and we all know Cinderella. Well, and it's like we're gonna tell the real story, like not the one you've heard. Yeah. I like. Which is it's great. They like it is fun that they start that. They like a dr dress like the Disney version or directly. They're like magic pumpkins and or whatever they say. Yeah, like well Okay. They all have their place. Yes. so this was ninety eight. This was the same year as Practical Magic, which we just did. So like you're saving Private Ryan, Truman Show, Rush Hour, Wedding Singer, the faculty. She was in Wedding Singer too that year. Yeah. She was in Bullshit. She must have had a wig. Who? Drew Barrymore. Yeah. She's it's which is crazy. I would have thought this was older. Yeah, I would have too. I know. It's that's funny. Like my brain gets sometimes thrown off sometimes. also the year f You've Got Mail. yeah. Just the best. Classics. It really is. And and can't hardly wait. Apparently those were all the same year, which like What? Are you sure? Yeah. It's crazy. That doesn't make sense to my brain. Okay, so Drew Barrymore was very much. a household name. she had so many in her IMDB. Like she just started as a little baby. Mm-hmm. So she does E T in nineteen eighty two and then like Firestarter in eighty four. She does a ton of kind of smaller things. Babes in Toyland in eighty six. Boys and Ivy in ninety two She apparently did the Amy Fisher story with the same director. Isn't that fun? That is crazy. I know. I was like, sure. Interesting. Amy Fisher. Boys on the Side in ninety-five. Batman Forever in ninety-five. and then she does Scream in ninety-six, which is like such an iconic moment. That's so good. And then Wedding singer and this in ninety eight. With other stuff in there. But nice. So she was very much an an established name. Mm-hmm. Dugre, which I had to like find some videos to figure out correctly. Cause like I read the dumb AI thing and it said one thing. And then I like found some videos of s like a guy saying and they were saying it Doug Ray. So I was like, ooh. And then I found some videos of like him. Well, Drew Barrymore talked talking to him. Yeah. And she said do gray. So okay, that's what we're sticking with. Yeah. That's his name? I know. I know. apparently he was in Deep Impact in nineteen ninety-eight. Also the same year as this. I've that all the way through. I've seen parts. That's the one with Taylor and Elijah and Lily Sobius. Was the other Independence Day? Yeah. No, not Independence Day Armageddon. That's what I meant. Yeah. Mm-hmm. yeah, he kind of like came out of nowhere a little bit. Was he in a Mission Impossible? Yes. He does that Mission Impossible to remember him from in 2000. Besides this. Yeah. and then of course Was he the bad guy in it? Yeah. He's good. He's a good bad guy. Sorry. No, you're good. Legend, icon, Angelica Houston. She sent so many things. yeah. She had a huge career like when she was younger. She modeled when she was younger. That makes sense. Yeah. Sure. She's stunning. Dad is the famous movie director, John Houston. She's a Neppo baby. I remember reading or seeing a clip of Jack Nicholson talking about because they dated. And Jack Nicholson was working for her dad on a movie set and he was like really scared of him and he was gonna find out that they were dating and and how funny. Yeah. That's great. she came into my life probably in nineteen ninety with the witches. Yes permanently scarring us all. Etched on my brain. But she did so good in that. Pulls her face off. And like her just like doesn't she like yell something like She's probably probably she's really good. She just had to block out the memories. Mm-hmm. It was terrifying. Yeah. And then probably her most known role is Morticia in the Adams families. Mm-hmm. Which, like, you couldn't pick a better I know. Like you still like can't. Catherine Zeta Jones could bless her heart. Bless your heart. She doesn't have enough dark side to her and Morticia to her. Well, and like Lonnie and I were talking about, like, she has like such a unique beauty look and look. And like she was a f model. Mm-hmm. She was a high fashion model, not a Sears catalog model. Which is very different for sure. Parameters. So and yeah. lends her to those to Morticia. Like yes perfectly. Yes. Mm hmm. and this role, I feel like. This role. Perfect wicked stepmother. She's so good in this. Okay. And then the director, Andy Tennet, he's like kind of like the rom com guy. He did It Takes Two with the Olsen twins. Do you remember that? my gosh. In nineteen ninety five. That is so funny. I know. I was dying. Is that someone's favorite movie in like a You know I mean? Like meme or something? Yeah. I don't know. Probably. Or like a movie where they're making fun of their favorite movie. Probably because it takes two. You know. I remember like loving that though when I was little. Yes, that's what they're saying. It's their favorite movie, but it's easy to make fun of. Yeah. And then he did Fools Rush In in nineteen ninety-seven with Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek. Mm-hmm. Like the gorgeous. I know. He's funny. He is funny. She's she's I watched a movie called Here Comes the Boom. Do you guys remember this movie? Yes with James feels familiar. James Hart. Kevin James. Kevin James. Okay. Is she in it? Yeah. Yeah. She's the love interest. She's the love interest. Kevin James. Well, because she's like she loves Adam Sandler. Like their buddies. So she's like in his the orange. Here comes the boon. So stupid. It is again the lawn. It's I have. And Henry Winkler is the best. I know I love Henry Winkler. I like He's a MMA fighter. I didn't even know it was a movie and I watched it. I was this is dumb. I've seen it. It is dumb. But Summon Hayek. I was like, no, you're too beautiful for this. For sure she is Rotten Man. She's for sure she's dummy. Anyway. so then he does this in ninety eight. Anna and the King in ninety nine. Do you guys remember that? No, I remember that. Was that sounds familiar. I'm trying remember who the star is, but look it because I don't have a way to look into it. I totally And then he does like Sweet Home Alabama in two thousand two. He does Hitch in two thousand five and Fool's Gold Lace. yeah. Me? No. Isn't that what's his name? Matthew McConnell. I totally remember this. Michael was in this. What's her name? Fool's Gold? Anna and the King. yeah, yeah, yeah. Isn't who's the girl? Is it Teo Leone? Jody Foster is Jody Foster. That makes sense. They both have such they have a similar look. What's Goldie Hahn's daughter? Kate Hudson? Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey are full of schools, which is that's right. Also a dumb movie, but yeah. It's good. It's good. Yeah. Okay, do you guys remember the first time you watched it? Yeah, he does. Again, aren't they like diving around in the ocean? Yeah, it's all third naked the whole time. Beautiful. Do you remember the first time you saw ever after? I remember the first time. I did not see it in a theater. I feel like I caught it on like PBS and was like, us this guy supposed to be Da Vinci? Like T V S. What did I say? PBS. Which made me giggle. But yeah, like and then was like, I love this. This is amazing. Yeah. Like just seeing it on TV. I don't think we we went to the theater, which is a shame. I totally v very vividly remember the trailers for it though. I don't know. Because they had Just for you. And they have that really good song in the nineties that was on the trailer that's like, Who has a phone? Anyone? I don't. I do. it's called The Mummers Dance. And it's like Do you remember this? Mm-hmm. Yeah, that's it right there with you. You guys don't want to hear nuggets control. sorry, sorry, sorry. okay, there's a gnat. There's two. Sorry. We're professionals, so don't worry. You're gonna remember. yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Wait, put it up to the microphone. not too much. This was in the previous This was on the trailer. Dang Remember that? No, not but I do remember that song. Yeah. And I feel like I love that they have that song for the preview and then like credits songs, so like moderny. Mm-hmm. It's great. Yeah. Okay. how did it change the industry? I feel like it's like a really good like girl boss moment before Girl Boss got ruined by men writing. movies. Yes. Like actually. Yeah. 'cause she does everything. She gets to have a sword and she saves herself at the end and she and she saves him. To throw an apple in his face and pick pick him up and save him from the gypsies. But she also gets to wear the pretty dress and do all the things. Like it's so perfection is ahead of its time she gets to do it all. Yep. Okay. Who's in the hospital for carrying the whole thing on their back? Likes I feel like Drew is by the skin of her teeth 'cause Angelica is also there. Well like a whole cast really is incredible. Like I but I do think Drew is carrying it. Yeah. For sure. But everybody is so good. I love it's so well cast. This is such a good example of like all the supporting cast is perfection. Yeah and good. Yeah. Like bring more of that to Da Vinci and the sisters and the how Angelica Houston and the princess. The mom and dad of the queen king and queen. Like everyone is so good. Yeah. Yeah. So Da Vinci looks just like him. I don't know where they found him. I know. It's incredible. And his hair even like it looks straight out of the He went back in time. They regenerated him. And he's like a fun little likable Terry godmother. Totally. He's perfect. Did you have anyone other than Drew? No. I had Drew too. Yeah. Like she's doing her best with that accent. She really is doing her all And I'm glad she didn't like overdo it 'cause I feel like it'd be worse. It is worse when they overdo it. And I feel like they just told her to slow down. Like just go slow and you'll Get it. And she like close enough. Yeah. She almost doesn't have her normal lisp when she's doing her accent, which is fascinating. and she just has she has a great timeless beauty of like she literally does look like that painting from Da Vinci. She does. She's gorgeous. And she has like such good eyes, like the Renaissance eyes where they you know what I mean? Yeah. They're big and gorgeous. Yeah. And they don't need mascara and yeah anything. Like she just look like like even the cover when she's got her like closed eye face. It looks like a Renaissance painting. Totally. She's gorgeous. Okay, who was your scene stealer then? Angelica Houston? She's so amazing. I know. She's so good. Cause like this role is so easy to just be like very like one note and like sorry my Your light. My real light up. Turn it back up. Yeah, and she There it is. Doesn't just fall into the kitschy Yeah. Like she's not like a mustache twirly boring villain. Like she has so much layers. Yeah. And depth and like when the dad dies, she's so sad. And you can actually see that she really did love her dad and The one scene where she's talking to Danielle and like you can see it peering out from her. Yep. yeah. Very hard shells she she's put up. Just trying not to cry and like leave me alone. And like talking about how her mother was hard on her and made her wash her face twenty times a day. And she does does such a good job. Like the writing is so good. Really good. But she She makes she pulls it off. Yeah. And I think it's very convincing. I read somewhere in my research that she changed a lot of her dialogue to make it less obvious and a little more subtly manipulative and a little more subtly cruel. I feel like that's what's missing in a lot of modern movies. It's like people see like let's change it. Just hair, make this character a little bit more interesting. Yeah. A little more one sided. Yeah. Yeah. I also love Melanie Linsky is Jacqueline. Totally. And Marguerite. And also. Marguerite's like that's she has all my lines, really. Well, not all of them. Her and Angelica Houston. Yes. Of all my lines. Yes. 'cause I love what they did with Jacqueline too, because she could have easily just been the boring, evil stepsister. Another baddie. Yeah. And they made her 'cause it makes more sense that one of them would be the favourite for sure. The other one would be shunned and Yes. Yeah. Yeah. So just you're just there. Yeah for the technical. Who gets peak performance best of their career? Lice? I didn't have anyone. I said Drew. I said Drew. And Angelica. She's in other things that are really great. Yeah. But I love her in this. I do too. And it's like this is the role I would want to do as an actress. That's the character I wanna want to play. She like has talked about it and she said this was her favorite role she's ever done. Yeah. And she said she like got like really emotional. She's like, this this movie like changed my life. She's like, I was on a very different path. She was. When I started this movie and when I read like this character and I got to be her, I was like, this is who I want to be in real life. it's making me cry. I know. It's so cute. She really I remember like her having kind of issues in Hello She was a child storm. Yeah. Yeah. So Like the shit. She gets to be her own hero for her own life. Yeah. And I think it's so cute. And like especially people our age will talk to her about it all the time. And 'cause yeah, we all grew up with this. So Yeah. and then I said Angelica Houston. This is my I'm sure she has other stuff. And I love her in Royal Tenenbaums. I love her in Adam's family. But I feel like she does such a good job of like acting. Acting in this in this for sure. And she's so funny in this. All of it. She does. She just can show a spectrum of emotions. And just like embodying this like very graceful like lady. Yeah. And like when they walk in. Like usually tall people aren't this graceful things. She's like a swan. She like swings in there and then curtsy is so low and glorious. And her her little headpiece that just Sens it. Yes. Amazing. She's so good. Yeah. Okay. If you're gonna make a new one, who are you casting? Sorry, I didn't do this either. Okay. I did. I ran out of time. Good job, Vaughn. See? Okay. Do you wanna go first, Von? Sure. Okay. So for our leading man. And and these they've worked together before, but I Absolutely love them. Nick Holt and El Fanny. Nick Holt online. He's just such a good that kind of guy. He can be such a little weasel. Yeah. And then but can tour out in his heart. But very charming. Yes. Yes. I love Nicholas Holt. And I love them together. And she does a good British accent. I think. I love them in what's the the The Great. The Great. Go watch the Great if you like. It's not safe from work. No. No, it's not but it's really good. It's very enemies to lovers. Yes. It's kind of a dark comedy. Yeah. and then for Da Vinci, I said Daniel Craig. that's fun. Right? Yes. Yes. I thought he'd be fun. Yes. And then I and I my last one was Gillian Anderson as the stepmom. I love that. Right? also on the great. Yes. Yes. That's I love her. Yeah. That would be amazing. Those are the only we really thought of. Okay. I did Olivia Coleman as the stepmother. Perfect. I love her. Yeah. Put her in everything. Yes. But then I also was like, if we wanted to go like maybe one generation younger, I could see like a Like an Emily Blunt or like Jessica Chastain as the evil stepmom. I would love to get a little evil in there. Yeah. they would both be really good at that. Yes. And then I said like Alicia Vicander as Cinderella, maybe? Or day separately that Alicia Vicander. She's on The Man from Uncle. Ex Machina. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. She hasn't been in anything for a while. She hasn't. But she's so pretty. She is. And I think she's a good actor. She's stunning. Yeah. And that would be a good role for her, like sweet and innocent. Yes. And then I had Nicholas Holtz and Austin Butler, if he could do an accent. Mm-hmm. He was like the Elvis guy. Yeah. You know who Austin Butler's. Andrew Garfield. I thought of Andrew Garfield too, but I like, Wait, why did I think of Andrew Garfield? Spider Man. Yeah. Sorry. His slutty glasses. Sluty glasses. He's Robin Hood life. Love him. I thought of him too, but I was like, maybe he's too old. Good finds. Sorry. No, you're fine. I also had Daniel Craig in mine, but as the king. yeah. And Rachel Vice as the queen. they're married in real life. That would be adorable. I don't think they've ever been in anything together, have they? I don't know. Not that I know of. We need to do that. Yeah. Yeah. And then I had Gandalf Ian McKellen as Division. Cute. I love that. There's a lot of old British guys that you could Put him in there. And then the little guy, the little friend. Mm-hmm. What's his name? I don't know his name in the movie. Yeah. Her little friend. No. No, the little guy. Gustave. yeah. Yes. Is he supposed to be Gustave Clint? I don't know. Okay. 'Cause I'm like, I don't feel like is the time right? I don't know. Isn't Clem like not French? Isn't he Spanish or something? Like Swedish or something. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. But I feel like it's too late. Gustave. Yeah. the guy his name's Skylar Gisnotto. And he's he's on the prime time right now with Robert Pattinson. He plays like the the actor that's pretending to be the little kids. And he was on Santa Clarita diet. He's you'll probably recognize his face. What's his name again? Skylar Gisnotto. Lonnie's looking up Clint. He's way too young. What is he from? he's from Vienna, Austria. We were both off. Yeah. Okay, now look up Skylar Gives Nodo. I do love Skyler Giso. I do, though. I do too. Gives Nodo. Did you take Humanities with me or did I tell you to take it off? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I knew I couldn't remember what classes we took. And then we'd go get lunch. yeah, yeah, yeah. Do know who He'd be perfect? Him as the little friend. That'd be cute. Yeah, yeah. I love him. Do you know who else I love? He's the little weasel guy that Angelica Houston like plays. yes. Yes. The page boy. Yes. He's so good. Wicked little. And she is so delightful with him. Just manipulating her wiles. Mm-hmm. I r 'cause he's actually like pretty famous now. And this is like his big screen debut. cute. Good. Yeah. He does so good in that role. It's like perfection. Yeah. Little scumbag. Is he in the Marvel ones where he's like the head of the I don't know. What's the bad guy's it up on her phone? I don't know it sh Do you know what I'm talking about? Yeah. I don't I wanna say. Hydra. Thank you. Is he? Is that what you're trying to think of? Yes. Hm. Okay, who's your f while she looks that up, who's your favorite character, Lace? My favorite is probably Drew. Danielle. Barry Miller. Danielle. Danielle. Debalbarak. Yes. 'Cause I just think Go girl power. Yeah. Stop looking at a battle care. It's giving me Vigo and I was like, it's not I don't want Vigo's character. Yeah. I think Danielle is mine too. Her favorite. Yeah. It's hard to get like a really good 'cause she is kind of a perfect character, which can be but I think Drew plays her awkwardly enough that it's not annoying. She's like always dirty and she's like a tomboy, so it Yeah. Evens out her Yeah. And for the times she does things that w are not okay. You know what I mean? She's not perfect, but yeah. To us she is. Of course you can't morally perfect. But yes. Yeah. She does break the law. Yeah. I also love Jacqueline. I do too. I love Jacqueline. And the mom, even though she's the worst. I love Angelica. Yes. If I had ever learned She's got the shades in that vein, energy cookie cutter. Yeah. Same cloth. Yeah. I do love the prints, guys. yeah. He actually does a good job. He does What's his name? Dugre? Dugre. Okay. I wish he was a little more broody and a little less whiny. Because he comes off kind of whiny. And he needs to be more brooding. But she does say he was a boy, you know. I do think it Well and he goes in power. Like he just is that guy. Yeah. He's but she has some he should be that guy. Mm-hmm. How he is brought up. He should be like a younger actor. That's what I'm saying. Like that's in his thirties or two isn't his and he's whining. Yes. You're too old for this. He'll engage. Yeah. Yeah. I get it. But it's He I think you're right because he's so old to your life. Yeah. You need a younger prince to be like You need to be sixteen. Yeah. Like if you're that only twenty brooding. Yeah. If you're younger. A twenty year old playing a sixteen year old. Yeah. Whatever. Yeah. I also love Da Vinci. Mm-hmm. I love like such a good master stroke of writing to make the fairy godmother Leonardo da Vinci. Yes. It's so fun. It's so cute. And he like makes her wings and he walks on water because it's like you still kinda want that magic, but he's yeah. Genius. Yeah, and he's like the calangelo stuck under a ceiling. Ceiling, yeah. It's like one of our real world like larger than life actual people. Like like kind of like in Oppenheimer, how they have Einstein being the like Gandalf figure. Yeah. It's like that same vein of like this is a real person, but he was so smart and so that kings and c queens are like Inviting him to dinner. Yes. And he says, like I'm just a lowly like Yeah. Nobody doesn't. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Farmer or whatever his dad was. Yeah. I do love that. Okay. Who has the best arc? I said the prince. Yeah. He does. Didn't we say the worst? I skipped it. Who is the actual worst? I hate LePew. But I also yeah he does such a good blew. He is a perfect le pew. Yeah. He reminds me of painting. I'll think of it. I think I wrote it down. Anyway. Who did you say was the worst? class systems. for sure. It's so weird. So embarrassing. It doesn't make sense because she was a lady. This was my like I don't understand. Yeah. Like it happened. I don't get it either, but because her dad died and her mom died, she no longer has her I don't social standing. A stepmother. I know. Who is a lady. This is why it didn't make sense. Or Baroness. That's the thing that I didn't understand. I was like, this is your problematic thing. I don't get it. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I don't get how it works. I don't either. I said King Francis and Marguerite And the mom, obviously. Yeah. But King Francis is It's really dark at the end when the mom sells the stepmother sells her to a pervert. Yeah. Like, Mm-hmm. You're gross. She's gross. Like right before then, she's like, You don't know what I've wanted from you this whole time. No. And like she had a chance to like redeem herself and be like, You're right, I do love you. Yeah. But she doesn't. Which is why she gets her just disappointment. A pebble in your shoe. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. I had Marguerite for like and the stepmom for taking her mom's dress. So mean. And they're so mean to Jacqueline. Yes. Like I'm only here for the food. Yeah. But yeah, Iula Pew is for sure the worst. He's just very twirl his mustache. You need those. Yeah, you do. Okay. obviously this is who's the best arc? Yeah. Prince Prince. For sure. Because Daniel doesn't arc very much. No. So. She is who she is. Yeah. He has an arc for sure. Yes. And she helps him. Yes. Cute. And I love like the it's like the university and Yes. So cute. Mm-hmm. and the the stepmom could have had her redemption arc and she chose. Yep. And I kinda love the like showing, like, yeah, we give our enemies chances or whatever to redeem themselves. And if they don't, then no. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, it's obviously based on the classic fairy tale, but it's very much nicer than the classic grim where The stepsisters get their eyes pecked out, I believe, at the end. By birds. And their like feet cut off or they cut their feet. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What are we doing, guys? These are children's stories. What? What stories were told to you as a child? Okay, what was the most iconic scene? Okay, so obviously the just breeze where she buffels up at the ball. With the wings. And the dress. Sparkly face and her incredible dress. The sparkly face is such a time. It is such a night in the What's her mask? It is, but I do think they did a good job for what they needed it for. Yes. And then I also loved when she carries him off in the yeah. From the gypsy gypsies. That's like what I remember most about the movie is that part. And th those two parts. Mm-hmm. Those were on mine. And then I had also when she's swimming. Mm-hmm. And then Da Vinci's like Looks like rain. Yeah. Yeah. It's like just such a with the music going. Isn't that they like there's like a painting shoot, I can't remember what it's called. The Ophelia one where she's like. they copied not copied, but kinda did that after that, I heard. On purpose. That makes sense. I had obviously the ball and the dress and the wings and it was iconic. Yeah. And did you guys see so what's her name? Lily Reinhardt. She just made a movie for Amazon and she did like the press and she did all these homages to like all the iconic dresses. in like rom coms and romance movies. Cute. So she did like the yellow dress from Adaloose, a guy in ten days. She did the green dress from Atonement. like not the exact but the match. Yes, and she did this dress too. Like it didn't have the wings, but it was really close. Yeah. So and it was really cute. Like she went on Drew Barrymar's show and they like talked about it. Like Drew loved it and she like gave her a signed VHS of ever after. be the dream. I know. It was really cute. So anyway, so the dress. I love when she hits him in the face with an apple. Yeah. And he has that bruise for like days. Yeah. Half the movie. Yeah. I think the ending is so good. The like I will speak for her, and like they don't know that they don't know that she's married to him now. And you're screwed. My wife. And it just adds to like he doesn't have to do anything. Like she takes care of She can save herself. All I ask is that you show her the same kind. That she's shown me, and that's really I hope you have the day you deserve. Yep. Really is so good. and then just the part where she saves herself and gets the sword and yeah, threatens Le Pew. Yeah. Cuts his face. Yeah. Cuts his face. Good girl. And saves herself. And then he's like, I'm here to rescue you. Yes, I love that. So good. It is because yeah. It's like good when they can be like, I didn't need to. I'm proud of you. Yeah. You know what I mean? I guess I'm here. They're humble enough to be like I should have known. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's cute. I love it. Okay. It's the way to treat that situation. Mm-hmm. It's really good. What scene made you tear up the most? I had when they're trying to take her mom's dress. Mm-hmm. Like they've already taken everything from her. They've like whipped her back. And and like I feel like Drew does such a good job in that scene when she's like, I would rather die a thousand deaths than see that spoiled selfish cow in my mother's dress. Like she delivers it so well. Mm-hmm. Yeah. The end ending like made me get teary, like when she talks to her and like what we were just talking about, how she Yeah. I'd want to give her the same kindness or make sure you showed the same kindness she showed me and Yeah. Just that whole See how he's like, here's my wife. I just love how he just steps back and lets her do it. Yes again. Cause it could have easily been like him doing it. Yeah. And the movie lets her do it. It's so good. Mm-hmm. and kind of in that s n near there when at the ball, when Angelica Houston like rips her wing off and just throws her to the wolves in front of everyone and stupid Henry is just like That was one of my Yeah. It's like a How dare you? It's like You were pursuing her the whole time. And she's try she's been trying to tell you for two days. Yeah. It's like, Whatever it is, I say yes. And it's like, What are you doing? What are saying? Yes. And then Da Vinci like lays into him and like a desire. Yeah. So good. So good. What made you want to throw something at the screen? Wait, can I do mine? yeah, sorry. No, you're fine. I love when she gets the like blinking back. Blinkin' I Robin Blinkin too. Yeah. That cute old lady who runs to him. It's like the cutest. that scene was so sweet. The servant guy. Yes. For those who don't know why they're saying Blinken, it's because the actor played Duncan in Prince of Thieves. Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. And then Robin Hood Men and Tights, that character's name is Blinken. Blind. Yes. And they blinded anyway. Blink and fiction. I was laughing out loud saying that line, knowing you guys would appreciate it. Yes. You look like a blink. But yes, the cast part is really cute. It is. It's so sweet. Yeah. My other part is when Angelica Houston talks about her mom and like that just makes me tear up Mom's like sh gave her so much backstory and nuance and depth and You kind of feel bad for her. Mm-hmm. And you like hope that there's an arc. And she's so close to having a moment. She doesn't do it. She cuts her little heart off. Well, and I think it's from the beginning when her dad died. she's bitter. She saw him say, I love you to her and not Her. Yeah. It's like from then on she like Yeah. Resist has been angry and taking it out on her. Yes. Which is ridiculous. Totally. And then because she did love the father, obviously. Yeah. And then when when Daniel asks her, like, did you love my father? She's like, I hardly knew him. Yeah. But you can tell she's she did love him, obviously. Yeah, and she's still mad at him. And she loved becoming this baroness. Yeah. Yeah. Lady and anyway. Yeah. what made you want to throw something at the screen? I just said when she keeps trying to tell him and he won't listen to her. Yeah. And then throws her to the wolves. Yeah. And he doesn't stick up for her. And then he goes and pouts in the corner. Yeah. Like he needs to brood. Not pout. Yeah. As a man you brood. As a boy you pout. Yep. Yeah. Yeah. I mine was that she's like jealous of her. Yeah. As a child. Like, come on. Mm hmm. Yeah. Like that's not her fault. No. No. And how can you like hold that against her? Yeah. And he should love her. He's known her her whole life. And she's just met. And like he probably thought he had another second to say I love you to her too. You know? Like I don't know. But it's so good the movie gave us that scene. Just to give her another reason to hate her. Yeah. Or whatever. Yeah. Treat her that way. Yeah. Okay. What scene feels like a warm hug? I had one Da Vinci gets the hinges off the door and then and the little exchange where he's like like a fish may love a bird, but where would they live? And he's like, Then I shall make you wings. Yeah. It's so that made me cry too. It's so cute. That's really sweet. I don't really I didn't. Said when they're with the gypsies and they're sitting around the fire and just like talking And then they kick kick It's like the classic like they got to go on a date. Yep. Mm hmm. And get to know each other. Mm-hmm. It's so cute. With all the pomp and circumstance of the time. Today I am just Henry. Ugh. So good. Really cute. Okay. best plot line. Nice. Enemies to lovers. Not that they're enemies, but rivals. Star crossed lovers. Star crossed. Yes. Yeah. It's just really good. Mm-hmm. It is always it always hits. Well I like that they set it up with the brothers Grim and they're like, this is kind of a retelling. Mm-hmm. You know the story, but you don't really know the story. Mm-hmm. That's good. And I just love that the servants like hide her stuff, her dress and shoes. yes. Like little alleys. Her little mouse friends from the Yeah. Disney one, you know, like taking care of her. Yeah. I do love that. Because the everything's been missing. Going missing so far. And then you think it's them? Yeah. But then it turns out Yeah. It's not. It's not. But that they were good enough to like not let her eat. So you can't She's gonna sell this or she's gonna steal it from her. Yeah. How dare you? That was cute. The loyalty. It's nice. I had having Da Vinci be the F the Fairy Godmother. That's a good one. I like I love a magic fairy tale, but I I love the way they did this movie. And that's such a good way to like make it real. Mm-hmm. But still have him be like a mythic figure. Yes. Yeah. And then I just said having her be the one that saves herself from to pew. Totally. Like I it would have been fine if he came and saved her, but like I love that they let her do that and have that moment. And she just walks out and he's there and he's like, Okay. And then she kind of And she's like embarrassed, like, what is she doing here? Yeah. It's good. Okay, should we do our quotable lines? Yes. Who wants to go first? I can. Okay. Okay, this is the Queen. Mm-hmm. I love the Queen. I do too. Or no. Yes. Choose wisely, Henry. Divorce is only something they do in England. In New England. It's really good. And then when LePew I think he's in like the market and Danielle's like, prunes. 'Cause she's like You're old nasty, like these prunes. Yeah. Ooh, and I love when they're with the gypsies on their old date. I'm pretty sure that's when he says this, and he says, 'Tis your mouth that has me hypnotized. Yes. That's really good. Smooth Henry. Yeah, good job. And then when they're with the queen and Marguerite goes and like f has a spaz and freaks out, and then she's like there was a bee. It's like so dumb, but I think it's so good though. I love that. I feel like everyone Like loves that line. It's But the good heavens, child. Yeah. That was terrified for her. Yes. And then I love when she says, just breathe. It's just so iconic. Mm-hmm. And then when he says, I came to rescue you. Like, wah wah Yeah. and I loved when Da Vinci says, I shall be known as the man in history, as the man who opened a door. Yeah. I shall go down in history as the man who opened a door. That's really good. and then just like the ending when they say although they lived happily ever after, the point is that they lived. Yes. The point, gentlemen. Is so cute. I love that. Yes, good. Good one. Uh-huh. Jacqueline, only speak if you can improve the silence. That's so mean. And like especially because she answers the question the step correctly poses. Yes. Ugh, yeah. it just shows that like you're a bee. Yeah. And we see who you like. Yeah. You know, like it gives so much information. nothing is final until you are dead. And I'm sure God even then I'm sure God negotiates. Love. You forget how funny this movie is. I know. I was like, I'm already pausing it and writing down quotes. You claimed it was a matter of life and death, sir, when he rescues the painting. yeah. And he says A woman always is Yes. He's so good. Yes, sir. And fun fact, supposedly Leonardo da Vinci really did keep the Mona Lisa on him at all times. Yeah. Interesting. I know. I know how weird. It is like, what is this? Lindsay's eyebrow. PS Angelica Houston's one eyebrow. yeah. Was a character of itself. Yes. Yeah. So good. Well used. I do love her quoting Thomas More to him. Just classic. fine. Go catch a chicken. Go catch a chicken. I do that all the time. Me too. it's really good. I wrote down the painting. It's a Van Eyck of the Arnulfini wedding. Nope. That is who that guy looks like. Which guy? Wait, what are we talking about? Le Pew? Yeah. He looks like which painting? cute that you thought we would know the painting from memory. Or just from the title of it. yes. Let me see. I'm sure you've seen this painting. Show them that. I have seen that. it's still reflective. That was Lapia. It is. He does look like it. Yeah. It's not fair. You seem to have found my weakness, but I've yet to find yours. I thought it was quite obvious. It's like some really good lines. I know. It's so good. Yeah. And then It's just a funny moment when the wedding's happening and the girl's just crying her eyes out. And her ugly boyfriend. I know, I wish he was do her like that. I don't know. So dirty. Yeah. Have him be super good looking. I was like, wait, is this her dad? I know. Like it took me a second. I'm like, no, no, it's not how you it's go to your dad. Just like Keep him a bee. Like she's not crying over losing Baldy over Henry. No. No. Like just have him be good looking. It's fine. Like it's fine if he were just good looking. Have him be not ugly. Yes. Like I don't care if he's beautiful. Yeah. Not ugly. Balding forty eight year old Loser. Like 'cause it doesn't make sense. No. And it it's such a small little put a hot guy in there. I just there's so many in there. The Hollywood. Just throw somebody in. Yeah. Not him. Just like a net neutral I'll take. Yes. Totally. Just not. I know I didn't understand. I didn't get why they did it. It drives me crazy. I don't either. Especially he's so old looking and she looks so young. She told me. She probably is sixteen. You know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah. What are we doing? Yeah. Or have him be sixteen, like this cute young love that she would be bawling over. Yes. Yes. I sorry. I had an issue with that. That was your plot hole. Yeah. But it actually is. I know. It's like what? Yeah. I know this is a small roll. But it squeaked it. Sorry. Did she have more quotes? No, those are mine. Okay. I had a lot of those and then I had the I'm only here for the f of course not mother. I'm only here for the food. Shove it in her face. Forgive me, Highness, I did not see you. Your aim would suggest otherwise. So good. So many. And then I put this in because I like hate it. I wish for nothing more than to be free of my kill to day. And so it's so dramatic. Yeah. Yeah. But again, he needs to be like a younger teenager. Or like early twenties. Like a whiny Anakin Skywalker where you're like, you're just the worst. Yeah. Artery Gruders, what does he think? Yes. I know, but I'm Taj Station. Thank you. Whiny teenager. yeah. let's see. I just love the whole like when she's freeing the servant at court and he was like, You dare raise your voice to a lady and then like he's trying to get her name and she's like really dodging this or so like in such a smart, clever way. Yeah. She's like, Well, which cousin? And she's like, Well, the only one I have. Yes. So so good. And then he finally gets her to stop and talk to him when he quotes Thomas More. Or he like acknowledges that she quoted Thomas More. Yeah. and she didn't say my name is. She says the only name I could give you. Yes. Yep. Yeah. Come on guy. Yeah. she's smarter than that. I love when he's talking to his mom and dad and he's like, Forgive me, mother, but marriage to a complete stranger never made anyone in this room very happy. I love it. It's really good. And then I love when the dad is like, I'll simply deny you the crown and live forever. He's like, Great, yeah. Perfect. I s sign me up. That's so funny. I love when Da Vinci says, You cannot leave everything to fate, boy. She's got a lot to do. Sometimes you must give her a hand. So cute. And then the g the the gypsy where he's like, On my honor, you can anything you can carry. And she picks him up. And then he just laughs. He's like, Come back. Yeah. He like appreciates her. Yeah. Yes. Isn't that from like there's like a famous thing where like a They seized this town and he's the guy that took over the village was like, You can take anything you can carry. And so the women grabbed all their spouse stuff and carried them all. I think you're right. Yeah, I remember hearing that. Yeah. At some point. I know. So cool. Just leave Just kidding. Deadly. They must have really loved them. That's cute. Well they needed them to survive. That's true. They can't own property without That's true. Okay. no my lady, it is your mouth that has me hypnotized. So good. So good. I'd rather die a thousand deaths than see my mother's dress on that spoiled selfish gown. She says that so good. She does and then Da Vinci like she's your match, Henry. And he's like, I am but a servant to the crowd, and I've made my decision. I will not yield. Like such a whiny turd. Yeah. Yeah. And he's like, Then you don't deserve her. And like leaves the shoe. So good. So good. Like the like Harry Potter of the like He Dumbledore would never raise his voice. It was the disappointment that is stings more. Like it's so good. Yeah. I don't like the shoe though. Does anyone else have an issue with the shoe? I love that it's like here's what a glass shoe probably was to dumb Disney people. yeah. You know what I mean. I just hate that it looks so plastic. Like the heel. The heel, yeah. It's like a s it's like a Salvatore Faragimo. Like some kind of crystal. It probably is. I'm sure it's glass crystals. I just it does make it look like a plastic shoe. I just wish they had done something like a lucite. I don't know. That's what it looks like. I know, but I'm I don't mind that it's not a whole glass slipper. I just the heel looks like from our the nineties when they had those period accurate. Yes. So I don't love. Well it's only like that. That's why. But because it's clear and a big chunk. Yeah. It's how would you envision it? I don't know. I don't know. Well I thought the glass was like I don't like. I know I don't know. Like shimmery on top was the glass part. I know. And then I was like, is the hill clear? Yeah. See? It's not it's just not my That's funny. Yeah. Either way. So if you could rewrite anything, what would it be? The shoe. The shoe and the the Spanish ladies guy that she loves. Mhm. He doesn't even need to be good looking, just not ugly. Yeah. Not a negative. Yeah. Yeah. And a million years old. Balding. Yeah. And like obviously balding. Not just balding, but his hair's like it's like a trump. He's trying to chunk save his bald hair when guys do that. I don't know. It makes him look so bad. Yeah, I didn't really have any That's like just very surface things. It's more of a direction thing of like be more broody and less whiny. Yeah. Mm-hmm. I like that one. But he it's still fine. Unless you cast it. It is fine. Because he does go on an arc and it is good. Mm-hmm. Like he's kind of a Annoying and she does skilled cage. Yeah. And she's like, You don't know what it's like to only be known by your title. And she's like, my gosh. Shut up. Sure. Shut up. Yeah. And he's like, I don't want to be king. And she's but you could think of all the good things you could do. But I think that's the point. She is a point. She's there to like show him the light. And like you have this power to do so much good. Which is why he falls in love with her, because it's not just the Because she was pretty at that ball that one time shoving their pankies in his tennis unitors. Yeah. You're welcome to look cute. Yes, that's another good one. I just fantastic. Marguerite does a really good job. let's see. So it was shot on location, like entirely. like a couple of the interiors were not, but like the castles all over like s the south of France and the Czech Republic. It's incredible. And then the painting of Danielle, of course, is actually based on the Da Vinci painting. The ooh, I don't know if I wanna try to say this. La La Scapigliata? Sure. Sounded pretty good Italiana. La Pigliata A rear chance and then obviously the Mona Lisa. and then best special effects or stunt. I did like the walking on water. Yeah, walking on water. Was cute. And then I saw that like it took them a long time to cast Dew Grey. Mm-hmm. And so he only had ten days to learn how to work and learn how to set flakes or did great. He did. For a week. Fantastic. Galloping when he's chasing the kids. And that is the painting. Have you guys ever been on a horse that's galloping? No. That's my between my pants. Yeah, me too. I wasn't laughing, I was terrified. I was laughing so hard that I was paying. I and I wasn't alone. I was with like I was just We're also there. Yes, same as it just. I hate this ranch, whatever you want to call it. we were like when you head back into the They're ready to go home and they just take off and you're like Yeah. I was laughing so hard that that's why I peed because I was Just a little bit. Just a little bit. Just a little bit. Yeah. Yeah. It's crazy though. Yeah. Like yes. You're like crazy. Animal control. Yes. This is a giant animal and I am on. Yeah. What does Sherlock say? crafty in the middle. Something on both ends and crafty in the middle. Yeah. And his little pony. Mm-hmm. So George Fenton did the score for the movie and he's done a lot of stuff, a lot with that same director, but he did like Groundhog Day and Multiplicity. The Crucible, he did You've Got Mail. yeah. And Anna and the King, same same director. So yeah. best use of music in the movie? I said in the credits. I like love trailing. I love the credits. I don't even know what it is, but And I love I love the trailer song we've already song of like when she's in the water and when she's standing there. Yeah. Yeah. It's a good It's very pretty. Okay, so some lore, some behind. I was gonna discuss his cod piece in his costume. I did want can we not? Do you want to do that in the best look? There was just one. I it's white pants. You never put a man in white pants. A couple of times he was in white pants. I know. With a scalp. Yes. I'm like, please no. I feel like a man does white pants better than a woman though. Sure. I don't really care. but I was wondering if they were trying to be like accurate to the times. Right. But it like they didn't know it went under the pants. You know what I mean? They went all on the top. Which But why? Is crazy and they'd like do mine bigger. Like it's a thing in art. Was it a thing? Yes. Ew. Men are fashioned of like doing like big cod pieces and small ones like the least comforting thing I've ever heard in my life. I know gross. Yeah. That's I was like, they probably just mixed it up and put it on top instead of one. That was a thing. That's really funny. Yeah. The cod piece. Can we I know you're trying to be accurate, but give me some normal man's pants, please. Or like make them black. Yes. So it just blends in. Yeah. Okay. But you gotta make him in white because he's the hero. He's the prince. He's print. The worst special effects. Did you skip that? Probably. Probably. The fireworks. They were just really fake. Yeah. Which is fine. Yeah. okay, some good some good lore. Yeah. Dew Grayscott was the third choice for the prints. do we know the others? We do. So the first one was Jude Law. no! Who said no? I know. Jude Law. dare What a mistake he made. I know. And then a guy named Johnny Lee Miller, who I don't know about us. He is House. That no, not House. I know who he is. He's he played Shakespeare. Not Shakespeare. Mommy. Son of a beast. Look it up. Look it up. Look it up. Who does he play? Sherlock. Sherlock. He played Sherlock in the TV show with Lucy Liu. Elementary? Yes. That is Johnny Lee Miller. I've never watched it. I haven't either. I don't even know what your I already told you, but it this is Drew Barrymore's favorite role. the actor that plays LePew, Richard O'Brien, is the creator and one of the stars of the Rocky horror picture show. Wait, let me see. Crazy. Do gray is better. Yeah, way better. What's he in? I know. What's he what else has he been in? So something movies and shows, go there. Okay, so when the movie came out on BHS. I've never seen that. I need to for you and Mansfield Park. I don't mind. Yeah, obviously not. Okay. Who cares? I'm just proud of myself I knew who that was. Yeah, I am too. Does she watch that show? Is it good? I did. 'Cause I love Lucy Liu. I too. I Lucy Lou. It was okay. He was like kind of autistic and a douche. Well Sherlock. Way He reminds me of someone on SNL. What's the guy's name? Anyway, keep going. Okay. Whenever after it came out on BHS, they the studio decided it needed to be P G 'cause originally when it was in really least theatrically it was PG thirteen. So they took out like a couple swear words and that's all it took. Okay. Interesting. Yeah. in the Brothers Grimm version of Cinderella, the They wanted to make it a lot more family friendly than that, obviously. Yeah. but they did like an homage to like the the doves pecking out the eyes. Yeah. By having them be launderers. Like a lot of those people end up going blind blind 'cause of the lime. Yeah, because of the chemicals, yeah. Yeah. Which is really sad. Okay. That looks pretty iconic too when they get in the die and they're all purple. They look so cold. I know. Like you can see their breath. Their breath. Yeah. And then them turning purple just makes it look cold. Mm-hmm. Yeah. the director, Andy Tennett, first entered Hollywood as a dancer. He was in Greece. And then he was in Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts band. What? I know. He was a pantzer. I wanna like see who this guy was in Greece. So then he moved into character acting, which with the next three films, which were called Nineteen Forty One, Midnight Madness, and Greece Two. I know. Before deciding he'd rather be a director. And then he moved into like television work and he did like his first T V credit is he did two episodes of The Wonder Years. Cute. Winnie. Yeah. Kevin loves winning. so when the movie was coming out, the the song on the trailer, the Mummer's Dance, like went all the way up to like number eighteen on the Billboard Hot One Hundred because of like the trailer. Yes. I will listen to it on my ride home. Yeah. It'll take you right back. Okay. And then I I already told you this one, but Da Vinci supposedly really carried the Mona Lisa around with him. That is wild. I know. Yeah. I like wanna know like 'cause it's like unfinished. She doesn't have eyebrows. Well and there's there's they've remembers that it's his own self portrait, but like as a woman feminine like people have overlaid his yeah next to it. And there's like so many layers that they've like photographed however they can pick go through paint to see all the different yeah iterations and things is crazy. Yeah. No, I didn't go closed. Was it like a Tuesday or something? Mm-hmm. Like a Thursday, and then we left the next day, so we couldn't. Ooh. What a bummer. Gotta go back. Just guess I'll have to go back to Paris. Yeah. There you go. I watched some other stuff like Drew Barrymore on the twenty fifth anniversary did like a huge episode on it on her talk show. okay. So she had like the cast all there. Dew Grey was there through Zoom. But he had his like costume on and the girls all put their costumes on. my gosh. He'd watch it. Melanie Linsky and the girl that plays Marguerite. Marguerite. And like it was really cute. Like they were like talking about how like those two got really close being sisters. And they like Marguerite was talking about how they all were just like in awe of Angelica Houston. she was like legend. Yeah. And she invited them all to her house. For a dinner party once and she had this amazing like French chef because her life was incredible. Yeah. And they were all so excited to go. And she's like, I remember you, Drew, you like got like with ahead of time you told her you were a vegetarian, so you had your own thing figured out. She's like, and then they went to the thing and the they served this like duck liver or something that was like pink and gelatinous and like jiggling. And she was like, my gosh. That's hilarious. She didn't want and like Angelica Houston like slurped it up and was like, This is incredible And she was like I don't know what I'm eating. Yeah. Yeah, it was cute. That was fun. And like Drew Barrymore talked about how she like really wanted Angelica Houston to do the movie and they were like having a hard time getting a hold of her or whatever and she's like I'm just gonna find her number myself and call her myself. That's what she did. Dang. Good for her. She was young. Yeah, she was young. And she but she was pretty famous. So she knew she would be fantastic. Cute. It is cute. And they all look so good. Like they all look just the same. Like like Marguerite had the dark lipstick on. cute. Like they all just looked incredibly cute. Fun. Okay. Sweaters after dark. I didn't know what to do 'cause there's like no point. So I I have a whole list of all the the boys that have played the princes in in live actions. So you gotta rank So we have Dugray Scott, Richard Madsen, who did the Disney one that just came out. He was on Game of Thrones. Wait, Chris Cinderella? Yeah, like the Disney Richard live action. Mads. Lily James. yeah, yeah. Wait. Wait. And Kate Blanchett plays the stepmother in that one. Did you remember that? he's also Scottish. he's so cute. Yeah, he's really good looking. He's very good. He's gay in real life. Which is how that's why he's too good looking. And then Paolo Monteblo. Montelbon. He was the prince. He was the prince in the one with Brandy and Whitney Houston. I can't like picture him. And then Chad Michael Murray did the one with yeah. What's her face? Chad Chad Michael Murray. Yeah. yeah. He's like a blonde. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then Nicholas Gallatine is the Okay. He the Amazon did a Cinderella a few years ago with Camilla Cabello. They did? As Cinderella? I only remember because I remember I remember the trailer and her talking to the prince and being like, but what about my job? And I remember being like, see, this is girl bossing gone wrong. Yes. Okay, wait, what was his name? Look him up. Nicholas Gallotstein, he's he man and he was in that movie with Anne Hathaway where he like I think it was like a hairy styles. Yeah, he's hairy how do you spell Palamine Gallot scene? Gallant scene. G A L He's good looking. Yeah. He's very pretty. He's got lips. Yep. But I love this version of the story the best. The best. So it's gotta be too grey for me. Yeah. Although I really liked the po the the brandy. The brandy one would be a top spirit contender. He's really cool looking. And the I think Chad Michael Murray would be the worst for me. For sure. And then probably Nicholas Gallatine. Yeah. Then Richard Matson, then Power. I think Richard Matson above Gallatsine. For me. Yeah, that's okay. Yeah. Like Chad Michael Murray's at the bottom for me. Yeah. And probably that movie. I didn't really ever What's it called again? The Lizzie McGuire. What's her name? What is his name? Yes, Hillary Duff. Thank you. Okay. Anyone make it onto your get out of jail free card list? It would only be Henry. It would yeah. I wanna hear his Scottish accent. I hear I wanna run my fingers through his hair. He was so cute in the video, like the Zoom calls. And like Drew Barrymore had like nothing but s really good things to say about him. Like she loved him. I thought they had great chemistry. I did too. And I feel like when I hear that, like it makes them more attractive. I think he's good looking. I do. I he's really good looking. Yeah. He is. Even with that hair. Okay, let's I didn't hate it. I didn't either. I liked it. I it was just hair long. But I I felt like it matched. But I loved it. How feathered it Yeah, it was really good. A lot of good movement. It was a good cut. Like and they had the the wings. Seven Costner's Robin Hood hair is too long in the back. It's kind of like Darcy's. And it's it's very straight. Yes. There's no movement. He has a nice wig. And it's like it's very moldy. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. But I feel like Du Grey's is beautiful. Yeah. Very princessely shiny and rich. You can run your feet. Shiny and rich. Yeah. Grab onto Yes. Really soft. Soft to the touch. Yeah. Yeah. Who had the hottest look? It's got to be her ball. Totally. Yeah. And the god piece for lots of white tennis uniform. That was so funny. Yeah. Tennis is just funny. Mm-hmm. I loved the like very fringed Net short. Yeah, it's really good. Well no it's such a short scene. that probably costs so much money to put that all together and have all those extra thin costume. But they used to make money. I know. I s I am appreciating the mail scene or whatever it's called. Like thank you for giving us that. Yeah. It's just such a funny little scene. Glad it didn't get cut. Yeah. Yes. It's really good. Yes. You guys hated the glass slippers. That's funny. I just I just hate the heel. I I agree I don't like disagree, but I don't know how you do a glass slipper in a way that doesn't look like loose sight. Yeah. I'm fine with how they have the Toe part. I loved that. It was just the hill. Yeah. But maybe it could have had like facets in it. More. Well with a heel. You know, like a glass that has been 'cause it was 'cause it just looks like loose. I wanna see how they've done it in all the other ones. yeah. Yeah. I haven't seen any of those other ones. We should s put that in one of our put that on our socials. Yeah. Rank the heel the glass slippers. Yeah, and I wouldn't have mind if it was the same material that was on the toe part as the heel. Like I thought I would have liked that better. Yeah. I know they needed to have glass in there for crystal, but I just didn't like it. Yeah. Anyway. It groused to ninety-eight million on a total budget of twenty-six million. Yeah. That's crazy to me that you could film on location for twenty-six million dollars. With all the costuming. All the costuming. Like Drew Barrymore, Angelica Houston. That's crazy. Yeah. That's impressive. Yeah. Does it reach the hallowed halls of TBS and TNT? Of course. Yeah, for sure. That's how I saw it, I think. Yeah. Me too. And then I said I wish it had a bigger influence on other live action adaptations. Cause this is how you do it. Yeah. What about my job? Like no, you missed it. I died at this point. We girl boss too close to the sun on that one. Yeah. No. Okay, the Rotten Tomatoes made me so happy. The critics are ninety one. And the audience is eighty four. It's like so wild to me 'cause like I love it. I don't think it's who in the audience is not ninety one. Like also like other movies that we've done, the fact that the critics gave this ninety one, just I'm like, I don't get h where you guys get your ratings and ranking. I don't understand. Yeah. Mm-hmm. I 'cause 'cause there's a world where you could see them tear this movie apart. Yes. I know. I don't get it either. Was it Dugre that were they fanboying over their probably beautiful man hair? Cod pieces. The cod pieces. That was probably what got Pushed over the edge. 'Cause you know it's mostly male based. Yeah. We know. the letterbox is three point seven. Which was lower than I would have expected. Yeah. But to me I like that makes sense. Yes. Yeah. For what you could like 'cause Drew Barrymore with an accent. Like I'm sorry, anyone could think that that is Pretty bad. Yes. Yeah. That's why I'm shocked. Yeah. But it's 91. I love it. And the the clip I watched of her like twenty-fifth anniversary episode, she like starts talking in the accent and I was like, shriveling and dying from the second hand embarrassment. But I know I love her. I do too. I love that she just like is who she is. Yeah. She's always been that way. My own lore, I almost named Pepper Drew because of Drew Barrymore. That's a really Pepper was mad at me the other day. She's like, why don't you just name me Drew? That would have been such a good name. I was like, I think Pepper's a really good name. But I do like it. And she is a pepper. She is. Well, and I told her Drew's cute though. That's cute. Drew was my top choice, but Russ's choice for Harvey was Willis. She had to get Willis. I like, I couldn't name you Drew because I had to not go with my style. Name was sacrificed. Not Willis. What you talking about, Willis? Yes, Lindsay. There's no way. I I' nothing against anyone's name for Bruce. Bruce Willis? No. He just knew someone with the name of Willis and he loved it and probably Will. I just I c personally couldn't do I have nothing against the name Willis. Like I think it's fine. I just couldn't name my child Willis. No. I it would depend on the child. They'd have to be able to pull off. Willis, the very niche group that can pull that off. I cried because of thinking about naming my child Willis. That is so funny. I couldn't do and I felt so bad that I couldn't give it to Russ, but I was like, I can't. I'm remembering this. I will put my foot down here. Sorry, Pepper, you didn't get Drew. But she can name her daughter Drew someday. There you go. And Sloane. Wasn't Sloane there? Yes, I loved Sloane. Sloane Peters. Mm-hmm. I showed my Peters Feeler. Peterson? Peterson. Silent Peterson. Yeah. Yeah. We watched that at the cabin. It's so good. I saw it in your pictures in the background. Okay. what holds up best? I said the screenplay. So really good. It's really good and has aged like a fine wine. It has. Like good good job everybody. And the casting. The number the first name under screenplay was a woman. Wow. And then and then there's a director and one other guy. So Ugh It just all makes sense. Deepest Cultural Impact. I said her dress. Mm-hmm. And her shoes. Yeah. I feel like those like beaded shoes really came in hot and the like with more like plastic than later two thousands or mid two thousands. Mids yeah. Because I feel like for McCall's wedding I had some. yeah. They were so pretty. has anything aged like milk? I didn't think so. No, I feel like everything's yeah. Really good actually. Me too. Aged really well. We already did hair corner. Mm-hmm. How often do you rewatch this? Not enough. Not enough. It's so good. I said like once a year. Yeah. I don't own it, so I haven't been able to. You know. Yeah. Rate it out of ten? Nine. I said nine. I said nine point five. Nice. It is lovely, but there's it's pretty perfect. It is pretty perfect. The only thing is like I don't understand why she's a commoner of with the ranking stuff. Yeah, I don't get it. Figure that out for me. I mean I like it 'cause it fits the plot. Yeah. But it is confusing too much. Well, 'cause it's also like when when they get the invitation, the ladies of the house and Jacqueline's like, She is also a lady, she's our stepsister. Yeah. So I think she technically is, but because she has been a servant for ten years. I don't know. I don't either. Yeah. How dumb. Yeah. Any doesn't really matter. Any final thoughts or hot takes? I just loved go ahead. You're talking. She doesn't need saving, she just needs to be like wants to be loved. And he's her prize at the end. Yes. And she gets to like Love him and he loves her and yeah. And they actually get to like know each other. Mm-hmm. Yeah. It's cute. Mhm. And like her her thing is because of her goodness that she gets him. Yeah. And she gets to be the queen. She gets to save these people. She gets to go on and do good. Yeah. With her good utopia goodness. Yes. Like it's That is what makes it so good. Yes. Yeah. I just said I I find it fascinating that Disney keeps doing all their live actions and they're just god awful and creatively bankrupt and they could be doing like stuff like this where they're like find a director and just say, Give me a live action your version of Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty or Snow White or Peter Pan or any other things. And do it in this vein where it's like based in reality, but do something fun where you have or you could do your magic too. I don't care. But just make it different from your animated one. Don't make a worse version than your animated ones. Totally. Because there's not a single one that's been better. And yeah. Like this is your empire, Disney. This should be your bread and butter. And you guys suck balls. They do. So bad. Milan was a perfect animated movie and they Took a giant dump on it for some reason. I know. Took out everything that was good about it. And I feel like Mulan was one of the best the better. That's what I mean. It was one of the No, I mean the live action. Compared to other ones. I feel like I hated that. I love I thought I thought it was gonna be so good. I thought so too. The trailers made it look really good. Compared to other ones though, I compared to other ones. I feel like they tried to do something different. They did, but they but the bar is in house. It is, that's what I mean. They took away all things. They tried. They took away the reason her for her to be a good It was because of chi, it wasn't because she was strong. Or whatever. Smart. Yeah. And like they could have made like that cool like wizard lady. Yeah. Turns into a bird. She could've been so cool. Yeah. They tried. They they tried and the attempt was made. Tripped and fell on the faces. Okay, so what do we do next week? So since it's October, we're starting into our spookies. So we're gonna do the others. I love this movie. I do. Nicole Kidman still like freaks me out. Yeah. I don't like scary, but this one I love. This one's just enough. Mm-hmm. You guys should watch The Witch. I want you to. The Witch. You have to watch it in daylight. Yeah. Together Together Watch you'll be fine. It's scary, but it's well But it's the ending. I need you to see the ending. It's very it's like the movie the on the tailor choice. She could be her too. Yeah. Okay, so the others. Go watch the others. Mm-hmm. And I think we did it. Yes. Okay, thank you for joining us today. If you enjoyed this discussion, please like and subscribe on Apple or Spotify and leave us a review.
