ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Nate DeWard is the Executive Director of Reach the Forgotten Jail Ministry. In this episode, we discuss the logic, or lack thereof, behind the United States’ system of justice and incarceration. As psychologists and neuroscientists and others discover the dramatic effects that our biology and our environment have on who we become (including some who believe free will is an illusion), the logic of a retributive justice system falls apart.
